Good app!. I like this app but wish there were more background choices or that we could use our own. I also wish there was some way to have it as my screen saver!

Great interface, but where are notifications?. The interface for this app is the best looking by far. I immediately purchased the ad-free version about 2 weeks ago. I have an issue though. Even though I have Notifications turned on in both the event and in iOS for the app, I never get a single message pop up on my phone. No message and no sound. Without it, the app is not really helpful. Also, there is not badge icon displaying on the app icon. It does show up as a widget though. Sent an email on developer site but no response. Hope to get one here. Running iOS 12.0/iPhone7 Countdown Ver: 2.6.8

It’s a good start but needs more.. I wish the app would allow you to import from your calendar or National Holidays. It would also be nice if there was an option to repeat so you didn’t have to set anniversaries, birthdays etc each year. I know other apps have that option but I downloaded this one because it works with my Apple Watch.

DISPLAYS ONLY ONE ITEM. This could be a very nice app but it will only display one single countdown on the entire screen in the app. It is a shame that this limitation makes this app useless for me. I expected to see a list of my countdowns in the app. I never should have purchased this without more thorough checking. I'm leaving this review to help any others who are considering this app.

It no longer displays countdown on app icon.. I really liked this app, until recently. It seems to have lost the ability to display the countdown on the app icon. That is a fail for me.

One fix that's all. I love this app so much I use it all the time but for some reason I never get the notification when the event happens. I have notifications on in the app and in settings but it doesn't work please try and fix it if you can thank you and keep up the great work.

Great App. I’ve been using Countdown to keep tract of pending appointments as well as other important dates for a long time. It saves me a lot of time and effort and helps me avoid making appointments for the wrong day and time.

Not Flashy, but I Like It. This is a simple but useful app that I have stuck with for many years. It’s not flashy and by no means super robust, but it works for the simple task of picking a date, a custom background, and creating a countdown to keep life in perspective. I use it for the start of my teams’ NHL or NFL season, my wife’s period (she doesn’t know), or as military, the end of deployment or next leave. It does the job in a simple elegant way and I like it.

Great app for a $1.. But half the fun of having it is sending the countdown to friends to “enjoy”. But the app sends huge self advertisements every time I send via the share Button regardless of setting. So instead of people saying “cool app, what is it” they say please don’t sent it anymore cuz we get the company ad every time . And it is a pretty big ad window in the text screen.

Wallpaper. I tried to add a photo to my wallpaper and then use that for my background on my countdown. Every time I open my countdown, it has a blank, grey background. Frustrating! I reset the wallpaper to my photo and then it happens again when I open my countdown the next time! I paid for this app, so I’m a little disappointed! UPDATE: as soon as I posted this comment, the developer fixed the bug that was causing my issue! Thank you so much!!

You can export/import into the full version. Once you download the full version, you are not able to import your data from the free version. I had more than 14 events, and decided to buy the full version to get rid of the ads. But I ended up with a new app, so I need to manually recreate all my events. That’s a fail IMO. Sorry guys, I know is just 1$, but it didn’t worth for me.

Cool app. Suggest adding a “how many working days until“ feature. Also, I love being able to use my photos as backgrounds, but is there a way to change the color of the script and menu bar icons? The blue color is lost in my photo.

Love this app!. Absolutely love this app but wish there was a working widget. There is a widget at the moment but it always says “No Events”. I’d love to see the countdown of upcoming events. That would be very helpful. Am I missing something?

Won’t let me add a wallpaper. I decided to download this one since the one similar to this that I downloaded for free was giving me issues on both my iPod and iPad. I tried to go and add a wallpaper, but it will not let me for some reason no matter how many times I press the add photo button. If it wasn’t for that issue, I’d give it 5 stars. It’s a great app, but I’d love to be able to add wallpapers that relate to m event

Absolutely the BEST. This is the best countdown/count up widget I’ve ever seen. So easy to use. Small download. Doesn’t run my battery down. Fully customizable. And only $0.99!?! The free version is just as fabulous. As my husband and I navigate immigration (in the middle of a pandemic) it’s important to have countdowns AND count ups! Buying this app to support the developers! Thank you guys for a fabulous product at a fantastic price!

Best Countdown App. Let’s start with the fact that it’s ONLY $1! And has a free version with ads BUT those ads in the free version never run constantly or become so intrusive and annoying, NEVER had that problem with the free version. That being said. I’ve used the free version for a few months now, and I’ve put everything in there as far as anniversaries, birthdays and he’ll even the day I turn “70” just to help me see just how much time I have to enjoy life etcetera. I personally like that and use it to reference that, that aside. The fact you can customize the picture to ANYTHING you want, yup, ANYTHING. The best part is if you have the widget on, you’ll see your custom photo in the widget for your specific event! Neat!! I could go on about this app but I’ll cut this short by saying. This app works as intended, I have never had any problems, it’s ONLY $1. If you’re conflicted about the purchase please use the free version, then reconsider paying the $1. It’s not alot and I’m sure it helps the developer eat a good meal and work on enhancing the app. Best regards to the developer not sure if it’s one guy or a team but thank you!!! I’m buying this full version to support the app, getting no-ads is a much appreciated bonus. Thank you guys! And I hope this small contribution helps you all.

Paid 2x. I downloaded this app, then realized there was a paid version ( only .99- can’t beat it) but , I paid , put my password in , got the ding and check mark and it didn’t download . So I tried again. And it worked. So it was a $2 app instead now, but still cheap enough.

Really like it BUT..... I go to “countdown websites” to calculate “how many WORK days until...” If you are struggling to get to a vacation or some financial goal the most significant countdown is how many days do I have to work for or until it? Even if holidays aren’t excluded- I would like this option.

Fantastic. I've been using the app for a year and it really is very useful. Now I decided to buy the premium version, because it really is worth it.

Time. Time is a man made construct. It helps us to quantify duration between events. I choose to accept time in a linear fashion and look forward to upcoming events, birthdays, celebrations, and tragedies. Countdown also counts up! How long have you been on your diet? How old is your puppy? I use Countdown for tracking both time passed and time to go. It’s useful and beautiful. I highly recommend it!

Don’t want seconds. You can only move the banner to three set locations which do not always look good. Also, I just want to countdown days, not minutes, seconds etc. It is supposed to be a count down to good things not look like a doomsday bomb or bad event about to go off. It would also be nice to edit font & color but that is just a suggestion.

Exactly what I was looking for.. I love the simplicity and the ability to countdown to any date within seconds. My only want with this app is being able to countdown with specific days as well. I am counting down to a date in July currently but I want it to only countdown M-F, excluding the weekend. If such a feature is implemented, then 5 stars all the way.

Review. This app is amazing except for one thing: notifications. The app itself can count up and down and also has wallpapers which is all lovely but this means nothing if I have to keep checking the app instead of the app sending a reminder saying it’s someone’s birthday etc etc everything else is fine but this app won’t get 5 stars unless the notifications happen.

Okay app. Could be way better. Basic app function is to countdown to events. If you're pathetic like me, you'd rather focus on the future than today. So without complaint, the app works as advertised. You set up an event, customize the background and the app will show you how many months, days, mins etc. until the event. (Not even I need to count down mins to an event btw.). But here's the thing. That's it. Want to scroll between events. Nope. Want to quickly see what happens if you change the event date and compare to the old. Nope. Want to have a video or gif for a background. Uh uh. The one that really irks me is not being able to scroll between events. I should be able to swipe left or right and see the next event I'm tracking.

Great App!. It’s simple to use. Seeing no ads is fantastic! Easy to customize with your own pictures. If tracking events is your thing you’ll really enjoy this app.

Count up. It would be great if you can incorporate a count up feature. Like for birthdays and anniversaries. Purchases etc. and it would show how many years/months/days etc it will be in the next anniversary date. Eg birthday. Set at 5 Feb 2000. It will show countdown 1 year/365 days/etc to 5 Feb 2020 and count up 20 years/0 days/ etc. keep both features in one app. Too many apps on phone already. Confusing. Just charge $1.99 instead of $0.99.

Great way to keep track of deadlines. Love how I can set deadlines and check each day on several different things that I am tracking

The basics with room to grow. It’s your basic count up/down timer. It has a nice feature (paid version) that allows you to add custom photos to your events. However if I may offer some recommendations to the creators of the program that would greatly improve it in my personal opinion: 1: Allow an option for recurring events. It’s nice to know how long ago a birthday or anniversary or other special occasion was, but even better to know when it is coming around again each year. 2: Instead of, or in addition to, having a favorite that pops up, have an option that automatically changes the event that is displayed when you open the app to the most recent upcoming event. This would give a rolling screen as time progresses so that when you view the app you can see what major events are coming up and be able to use the countdown timer to help plan or anticipate those events even better. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or if the ideas I am describing don’t make any sense and I would be happy to better describe them for you! Thanks for putting out a product that I can use!

Great App. I would give this 5 stars but I can’t find a way to have annual events repeat year after year. I love being able to add photos for birthdays, but am finding it cumbersome to roll annual events over to the next year. Am I missing something?

Now works as it should. Update: as stated in the developer's response, the latest update corrected the custom wallpaper and time zone issues, so the app now works as it should. Well that was a waste of money. I bought the ad-free version and that was a mistake. Supposedly you can select your own photo for the wallpaper, which it let me do, but close the app and open again and the custom photo disappears. It also looks like you can select the event time zone, since it shows in blue that it's using the default time, but there's no way to change it. Very disappointing.

Finally Bought Full Version. After years of using free CD, I thought the app developer, who has faithfully updated through every ios revision for years, deserved payment. Didn’t really mind the ads in free... Really enjoy this app. Would give 5 stars, but the widget is buggy- 2nd event has scattered text & doesn’t display correctly. Also wish all events from free version would have merged into new paid ad-free version. Had to re-create everything. Other than that, sweet little app that allows customization, personalization, and special event tracking.

The Only Countdown App Needed. Super simple countdown application without advertisements. The provided photos are perfect and it allows access to you camera roll. I have been using thus app exclusively.

They are all stored within the app You can share your Countdowns – or Count Ups – with others by a simple click on the top menu: iMessages, email, Facebook, Twitter, Messenger, et al. With a simple drag of the slider you can set the Countdown to years, months, weeks, days, hours and seconds. The free version has very unobtrusive ads at the bottom, unlike other free apps with annoying and incessant advertisements. For 99¢ you can get rid of the ads, which I did, not because the ads were bothersome, but rather because I wanted to make a contribution to the developers for such a fine app. Get the app and delight your family and friends with a personal countdown to an important event.

Love it. I really like this app. I wish this app would have minutes and seconds on / off feature for each events. Also, it would be nice to display at least 3 events inside the app.

Great Countdown App, Almost Perfect. Countdown Star is the countdown app I was always looking for. I think I look at the notification center widget to see my upcoming events more than my bank account 😅 it's so useful. I’ve been using this app for a few years now and somehow never purchased the free version. When I did, that’s when I ran into issues. I would love to see iCloud sync or import/export or account login - this would make it easier to backup and restore events. Currently, I’m painstakingly moving all of my events over manually to the paid app. It would be cool to be able to delete wallpapers and have desktop access too.

Disappointed. 😞. I’ve used this app for six years plus and have loved it. But recently some of my favorite features have disappeared. The photos I download from my camera roll don’t stay on the app. I have to keep downloading them. And the days left doesn’t appear on the app on my screen. Two things I really depended on. Please fix it or I’ll be forced to find another app. 😞

Okay app. Need to be able to set each countdown to its own time. I have three countdowns going and when when gets close I want it in days, next furthest in weeks and furthest one away in months. App only lets you have all set to same, months weeks or days.

Love it. I’ve tried a few countdown apps, and this is my favorite. Like the stock photos and ability to choose my own. Easy to set up or edit any event.

Life changing!. This app lets me count up or countdown a variety of pointless inconsequential events! Now, I always know how old I am! 🙈

Lacks some features that would make it better. Would like to be able to enable different sorting and default options. For example, should be able to default to the next upcoming event automatically.

Ok, but has bugs and not intuitive. This works for the most part, but major bug with wallpaper where it won’t save it. If you upgrade to ad-free version you have to start over. The interface is not intuitive and takes some getting used to. Wishes the widget would display based on my slider setting for the chosen interval for each timer instead of defaulting to days.

Something to look forward to!. I love to put special events and travels on countdown star! It always provides a mental lift to see how many days until my next cruise, vacation or birthday.

Good countdown app. So, I really like this app. I've tried numerous others and they sort of paled in comparison. I like that this one is displayed in the widget section of the iPhone, and how customizable the events are. My only complaint is that it won't allow for skipping certain days, e.g., the weekends or weekdays or some random mix of the two. Other than that, it's fantastic and I highly recommend it to anybody in need of a countdown app!!

The best one.... I can’t ask for anything else, easy to use, you can add your own images to the countdown. I will highly recommend it.

20201 birthday in may 22nd coming up. I loved those special events to get excited about and one of those is my birthday, i am turning 19. I am organising to celebrate it in holiday park at the onsite vans turning 19 there and i'm beginning to love it there but i don't know when i fully love it. My dream and wish is to have Christmas Eve on the 21st of may and Christmas Day on the day of my birthday to celebrate it with heaps of presents birthday ones to open on the day of my birthday. I like to party all night until the sunlight with my age of getting drunk at every party there.

What the...?. Downloaded the app at the beginning of 2019 with no issues at all and loved it. And then these ads popped up...no worries I’ll pay for them to be removed. The ad free app was apparently separate to the one I had therefore did not merely update the old version so I deleted the old app! Nope...still getting ads. Wouldn’t mind if they didn’t impede on the photo. Either fix your app or give me a refund!

Great.. I’m loving the app, however I’d like to be able to edit the timer section like being able to adjust the size of the timer, edit the size, colour & font of text within the timer.. so far so good.

Doesn't work on watch. This countdown works fine on my phone but the dates do not transfer to me Apple Watch like other countdown apps. Tried both the free and paid apps but neither work!!!

Good, but…. A useful app, but I’m disappointed at the lack of support. I used the free version for a while and had set up a number of countdowns. I then decided it was good enough to pay for the no-ads version, which I did. This works fine - but none of my previously added items was moved into the new version. I queried this via the support option on their website and got no reply. Frankly not good enough.

Fairly straightforward. Easy to use. Good you can share countdowns with friends. Would like more editing options - back ground photos, design etc. Social media link would be good.

Most Potential... Still Needs Work. The font and overlay of text on background is the best I've seen...consistent with the new iOS but... would like to have the option to have the top menu to disappear would like to have it account for time zones would like to have an option for choosing which ones are grouped in a list I say "most potential" because many MANY other apps are just so ugly they don't stand a chance to get it all figured out

Good app. Good app for keeping tabs on your coming events! Would be nice to have a recurring event button for dates you have ever Year. Love the custom back drop photos!

Very disappointed. Only shows one countdown at a time. Doesn't allow recurring events, such as birthdays. Doesn't allow you to pick day of week (I.e., Friday), only date. Only allowed one favourite.

Nice and simple. Feature suggestion: for users counting down to retirement. Ability to countdown workdays only (i.e. remove weekends, holidays and stat holidays) would be great. Otherwise a nice app.

Waste of money. I upgraded to the full version, and can only view countdown events one at a time! This is a complete waste of time and money. We should be able to see all events at once like other FREE apps provide.

Great app, waiting for update to correct fonts. Great app - been a long time user. Unfortunately the last update did something to the fonts and the screen is now cluttered. I emailed support to see if there is a setting I can change on my side. I recommend this app though- its great.

Countdown app review. I have thoroughly enjoy using this app for years. Does what it says, keeps you on track at a glance for those important moments, and has some beautiful backgrounds. Wish there were more of those. I recommend this app!

Pretty good. Does what it's suppose to, counts down. That being said seems to work well with iOS and displays nicely.

Can’t upload personal wallpapers. I purchased the Ad-free version thinking that I would be able to upload my own wallpaper (just as it says on the app store) however, it doesn’t matter how many times I close and open the app my pictures won’t even come up. Overall this is a good, but uploading my own pics is pretty important to me, so for now I will give it a 2 star. Hopefully this will get fixed.

Notification Widget stopped working. This was my absolute favorite app. Loved it so much I got the paid version to support the developers. Sadly good things don’t last. A few months ago the notification widget stopped updating. I then had to open the app everyday to update the notification widget number and then a few weeks later it suddenly disappeared altogether. No more notification bubble. You have to open the app to see the countdown. The notification is why I bought the app and supported it. Now it’s a wast of space on my phone. If this option is not fixed soon I will just end up deleting it.

Good but really wanted a count-UP. I see there is a spot in Events for the CountUPs, but how do you add one. I’ve emailed the developer with NO response as of yet. Will change this to a 5-star when I get an answer that works.

Good and simple. I like this app. It does what it's supposed to do. I have some suggestions though: I would like it to have a count of how many weeks are left instead of going straight from number of months to number of days. Also, it would be nice if you could have a start and end date for a countdown that would tell you a percentage of what is completed. ie 45 days left and there were 100 when you started so you're 55% of the way there. Paid and not working. I paid to remove the ads. Now it won’t sync with my Apple Watch. Only the free app will sync with the watch.

View all. There should be a way to not just see favorite - but view all on a main screen to leave it on. So you see all counts at once. How could this not be a setting. I’m shocked. Kinda fail.

Eagle Eye. M-F. A Monday thru Friday work week option to choose and the ability to exclude holidays or days off would make this App perfect and would make the countdown more accurate.

Events do not sync with Watch. It used to work and I cannot say when it stopped working. I only know that this ap stopped syncing with my iPhone3 and now does not sync with nee iPhone5. It was great when it worked but is pretty useless now. Will delete and look for another ap that works.

Not a fan. Every time I close the app it loses my custom wallpaper. It doesn't just remove it in the display,it seems to get deleted all together. Reloaded it 3 or 4 times then I gave up and got another app.

Icon count went away. I love the app, but it looks like the count on the app icon is gone as of update 2.6.2. Losing that count indication makes the app a lot less useful.

Works as Promised. I love the fact you can get a detailed countdown to the very second! It's exactly what it says it is, and delivers as promised.

Countdown is wrong.. I wanted an app I could customize with no ads. This fit the bill. Bought the paid version and put in my date, and the countdown is wrong. How can it not calculate the days correctly? Gonna ask Apple for my money back.

Unable to exclude weekends. The app needs to be able to count only business days (Mon,Tue,Wed,Thu,Fri). An extra bonus feature would allow the user to exclude holidays that prevent business days from counting. For example, a holiday that postpones the tax due date to April 16th.

Reminder. Lots of fun great backgrounds and I love the countdown. You get year, Month, day, minute, and second. It’s a great reminder app. Love it.

Badge app icon not working. I have the paid version 😡. With the newest OS updates the badge app icon has gone away. Yes I checked in notifications, all are on. Please fix it.

Great Tracking Tool. I use this as a tool to track project timelines as well as due dates. Thanks for offering such a versatile app. Dave

Basic-needs improvements. Good basic app, great that photos can be customized and widgets can be displayed, but... 1. Needs to be able to allow for recurring events. 2. Needs to be able to sync across devices. I only purchased a day ago. I may find features that I love. But these two items are the elephant in the room.

Help. How do i turn a count down into a widget

Counting down for a fix. So disappointed! I had the free version of this app and it worked fine. So I purchased the full version and now every day the wallpaper pictures I put in remove themselves!

Update with No Ads. Enjoyed using app and entered a lot of special days I want to remember however when I updated the app I lost all my dates

Badge countdown does not work. Good app but the badge number never updates unless you open the app. Also would like to be able to countdown weekdays only or custom days.

Apple Watch Sync is Slow, but otherwise enjoying. :)

The one with ads work, the ad free doesn’t. Now I can’t use my own pictures as wallpaper. What did I pay for???

More room to grow. It would be nice if you could take a screenshot of your favorite event with the bar of editing items appearing on top of the image.

Fun App!. Really cool app. I keep my retirement date in here just for fun! It’s almost 9 years away but everyone laughs when I show my app counting down! Fun all!

Love it. Only thing I don’t like is that you can’t get rid of the utility bar across the top of the wallpaper.

Bugs everywhere. Badge icon is gone. You select a wallpaper and minutes later, is gone. Please fix those bugs asap

Doesn’t work. Just bought the app with the ads free version and I just tried to put in an event and when I press done it kicks me out. App doesn’t work. There’s 99cents I’ll never get back.

Slideshow. Enhancement suggestion. Enable a slide show as well as a single wall paper.
