Lacks Features And Has MAJOR Annoyances. For a socially focused platform, you’re not able to share links to games in any form, making it difficult to get friends into games you may think they like. This app REFUSES, ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to let you use it without your phone’s Bluetooth turned on making a VERY simple task of allowing to you browse the oculus digital shop the most task possible with its REPEATED demands that you turn on Bluetooth. Also to anyone that may want to purchase a headset for their family to use, Facebook does NOT allow multiple accounts on a single headset. On that same note be prepared for MANY problems if you buy a headset for a child as they will need their own Facebook account, which is AGAINST Facebook’s TOS if said child is younger than 13. AAAAND be prepared to have more problems if you create a new account for said child, as they may get flagged as a fake account if you’re creating your child’s account just for the Oculus Quest which can be banned and lose access to all purchases.

Frustrating, slow, and inadequate.. Honestly disappointed with the quality of this app. I expected a lot better. Casting is a joke, setting up the quest 2 through the app is nothing short of a nightmare, it didn’t even let me set it up on my iPhone 6, (which, btw, means you can’t even use your quest 2 until you find a device compatible enough with this terrible app to actually function), and still has terrible quality on my iPhone 13. The only real way to get files from your quest 2 to your phone or a computer is through outside means, because this app doesn’t even properly let you save videos to it. You’d get better quality if you recorded your videos to your phone by sticking it against the lens and recording through the camera than you do through cast recording, and “sync to mobile app” works a solid 5% of the time. If I could give 0 stars, I would, because this app is an embarrassment.

Increasingly helpful. This app surprises me with the abundance of negative reviews, most just confused users that haven’t gotten to know Oculus yet. This app completely fulfills its purpose and more. A common question asked that used to be one I asked was about the screen casting error even when your devices are connected to the same network. I have discovered that if you restart your headset the casting immediately starts working afterwards. I learned this the hard way after factory resetting my oculus(that works too but takes much longer and overall isn’t a great idea). The new update has also been useful. This app is a must have for all oculus users and without it the virtual experience is a lot less immersive and seamless.

Forgotten passwords. Look, I can tell oculus somewhat responds and fixes issues that are sent in reviews, and I thought that if oculus new this issue existed they would’ve considered it important well it seems they don’t, if you don’t know what I’m talking about it’s retrieving your forgotten passwords, I didn’t know you needed to have your real name for your Facebook and oculus account so I logged out of my oculus and Facebook and made a new one for each, HOWEVER I completely forgot what my oculus password for the app, I don’t even remember making one, I thought I made it the same one for all my accounts but it appears not, I went “well ok I’ll just reset it” WELL APPARENTLY IM NOT ALLOWED TO. I went to forgot password, it took me to the oculus website I entered my email waited 30 minutes… nothing was sent. Oculus and Facebook this is a simple yet very important error in your system please just fix it already.

Recommendations to the devs. I love my quest 2, i’ve saved up for quite some time and it was worth it. I want to give some recommendations to the devs to help with the app. Maybe you could make communication easier? I would like to be able to have an oculus party with my friend even if he isn’t on his quest at the moment. I’m only 13 and i’m not allowed to have a facebook account to of course, i use my dads with his permission. but i wish that it didn’t display my fathers name. I wish that we could have the option to hide our real name and just use our online ones. Maybe you could make it easier to set achievements for you and your friends. I would want to maybe invite my friends to my achievements rather than have to manually tell them. All in all, it’s a great headset and i’m in love with it. Thank you for reaching.

Total Garbage. So I bought the oculus quest awhile back and I’m trying to get it to work but it’s not and I don’t think it will ever this is probably the worst vr ever period like for instants say you want to pay for a game you’ve been really wanting well you have to put in pin you most likely have already forgot well if you want to rest it you have to not use the app no no you have to use a website not the app nor the vr you bought and rest it but wait you forgot your password too well you have to find the link that will take you their and after doing so you need to send a link and either two things will happen it will send a “link” but you’ll never ever get it or it will just say something to the extend of saying you have merge with your Facebook and do nothing so if you read this don’t forget your pin because if you do you will never play a game ever no matter what also if anyone could help me I would be very happy to except it but this is still by far one of if not the worst ever vr system ever and will always be no matter it is total garbage and that is were it will belong

Frustrating to use. Casting is useful but I wish it worked with more devices like AppleTV. The store is frustrating to use. New and updated apps are not highlighted well. You used to be able to dig into the app details and see the “Developer Update” messages, but these seem to be gone now, so it is hard to know what changed. Being able to review developer release notes (most recent shown first) that apply to apps I own would be nice. Filtering and sorting apps is cumbersome. I wish you could sort by user star rating in the store. I would like to be able to filter apps in the store so I can just see apps that I do not own (sensible default) or apps that I own. Being able to filter apps I own would be useful when I want to browse my apps to decide which one I want to gift to a friend, though this wouldn't be needed if "My Library" supported filtering and sorting by user star rating. That way when a friend asks me what are the best multiplayer apps that I own, for example, it would be easy to just see which popular ones I own and make a recommendation. I wish it showed the price of apps that I own more visibly, so I can consider this when recommending an app to a friend.

Troubles pairing oculus quest. When I got my oculus quest for Christmas, I was told to download the app to set it up. I set it up and played it for a while. A few months down the road, I was always asked to enable Bluetooth on my phone to connect to my oculus. Even though it was on, my oculus was never able to connect, but I was able to use the oculus and somehow be able to download content onto the oculus, but I could never stream any of my gameplay onto my phone. I’ve asked him he support team many times for help and they never gave any advice other than turn on and off your Bluetooth your phone. That never works and I’ve tried everything from deleting and redone loading the app to doing a factory reset on the oculus. After I have done all of that, the oculus will show up as a device to connect to on my phone, but if I click connect, it will for a second and then disconnect. If anyone is experiencing the same or has experienced the same, please reply and help me out.

Pretty decent app, but just one minor thing.. The app itself is actually pretty fine, PERSONALLY. (I am a very tech-efficient person so little problems on my side.) But, there’s one thing that bugs me so much that its worth mentioning: how the app handles setting up profile pictures. The problem is that instead of using the photo app, which can let you go through albums of photos (ex. Favorites or a custom album), the app uses its own photo book that lacks this feature. Additionally, I think not using the base photo app on the phone lowers the quality of the profile pictures to where lighting gets messed up and slightly more pixelated. (Or this part may be just due to the app itself.) I use the iPhone version of this app so I have no idea if this specific to this version of the app. Other than that, the app itself is fine.

BEWARE FACEBOOK. If you recently purchased an Oculus system, believe me, you’re better off returning it than mailing all of your personal info to grubbing Facebook. Allow me to explain; Every feature involves the disclosure of EVERYTHING involving YOU. Your credit card number, your email address/home address, even your phone number! Additionally, the “Beta” features such as “voice chat” and “hand-capture motion” record the size of your hands and the tone of your voice to determine the kind of individual you represent. If you aren’t sold on this idea, look online regarding Facebook’s antitrust issues and desperate groping for every shred of personality that a consumer may unwittingly provide. Unless you want to sell your own identity to a third-party that can know you more than you know YOURSELF, avoid this app at all costs! I have been in this situation before, and my regrets are even greater than the sheer wonder that Virtual Reality provides.

Love the Quest 2.. . But. ... As much as I love the Oculus Quest 2 there are a lot of glitches not only on the headset, but the app as well. I’ve been using my quest 2 for the past year and a half, some of the glitches that have raised concern are as follows; I haven’t been able to cast to my smartTV all year, which hinders gameplay when company is over. The most recent update has helped a little with the glitches but not by much. My ability to cast to my smart TV is a huge thing for me as I love entertaining and playing my Oculus with friends. Some of the other glitches arise in the different games that I play or even while chilling in the lobby in VR. The Meta Quest app is also very glitchy. I am unable to rotate the screen, send messages or respond to friend request. Most of the command buttons do not work, and when I cast to my iPad, it consistently freezes. Please fix these issues and any other ones here in as soon as possible.

I can’t use my headset. So a while back I accidentally added a password onto my headset that I ended up forgetting, I pressed on the forgot password in the vr headset and it told me to use the oculus app to fix it. I tried countless times to pair the app to my headset like it says but everytime the headset is off, on the app it shows all the settings I need but the headset needs to be on. But whenever I turn the headset on all those in app settings that I need disappear, so I thought there was a problem with the app because I can’t do anything without the app. So I deleted the app and downloaded it again to see if that would fix it, but I had the same problem I had a few years ago. I would try to log in with my Facebook account like normal, and I would get to the final part and it would say “you merged this account with Facebook. Please go back in log in with Facebook” I don’t know why it says that when I pressed all of the Facebook options. So I haven’t been able to get into the app for over a month now and I haven’t been able to use my 600$ headset once again. I just need help because I’ve tried everything and I just want to play vr.

Signing in issue and wanting help for it. After having my vr for over a year now I’ve been experiencing some issue. My phone has this thing that is some what deletes apps for more space, the apps that I don’t use much. And Oculus was one of them. I only use it for pairing and stuff. After I deleted it and needed to reconnect my new controllers. I had to sign in. I would click continue with Facebook and then it would tell me to sign into it and I did my Facebook account it tells me that I have an existing Oculus account. Then it tells me to merge them together. To confirm the merge you would have to put your password. And I did but then it says that it’s already merged and have to log in with Facebook. If I do that it keeps repeating the same thing over and over the amount of times I try. Till this day I’m playing with broken controllers. Btw this happens on every platform I try to log in with. Help!!

Title launching, from the tap of a button. The Oculus Quest 2 itself is a rather amazing piece of technology in itself, but when paired with this app, you can manage your friends and chats, launch titles from your phone to play soon, and even set downloads to occur while you're not using it. All in all the app paired along with a headset is an amazing combo, although my only problem with it is that the developers didn't actually add a notification to tell you when your headset is charged up, something like 80% when you want to start playing again as soon as possible. Regardless, I'd have to give this a flat 5 stars simply due to the vast accessibility I have when trying to setup my next play session.

Updated App Crashes on iPhones!. The updated version of this app immediately crashes on an iPhone using iOS 12.5 (latest iOS available for that phone), when it previously worked 3 months ago. Different iPhone using latest iOS 15.7.x, doesn’t install properly and is stuck in some kind of endless loop that doesn’t allow it to be deleted off phone. Yes, I have tried everything short of completely wiping phone clean, which seems to be what I am going to have to do. Others on here are posting consistently about issues with this app on iPhones. Why is Meta not listening?? I have spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to get this app to work on the ONLY phones I own- I cannot be expected to go buy a new phone just to get an app to work. The headset I have is brand new, out of the box and isn’t usable because the app doesn’t work. I have nothing to pair the headset with. This is completely unacceptable!!

Best VR headset ever!. I've played a few VR headsets in my life and none really had the wow factor. Tried this at a friend's and I'm blown away. The fact that it's a standalone headset made things even better! Graphics are awesome and crystal clear. I usually get a bit of motion sickness but with the OQ2, it barely affected me. Being a huge Star Wars nerd, it's a dream come true to be this close to Vader in Vader Immortal, plus I get to train like a real Jedi in the lightsaber dojo. The headset looks way much better than OQ1, very modern and clean. Having to link my Facebook account made things much more easier, since I linked all my app games to Facebook for easier upkeep. Have little to no issues to use and the fact you have the option to buy games either from this app or while playing VR is a bonus. Best $299 investment yet!

Messages won’t delete. Chats won’t delete anymore. They confirm delete and then disappear and about 1-2 seconds later they reappear. No matter how many times I delete. Inside the actual oculus you can’t delete chats now. That option was available but now it’s gone. Only block and report convo is available. Can we please fix this asap. Thank you Another thing is the notifications do not work. Flat out. If I message in the app or in the headset it’s like the 2 don’t work together. Some don’t show up in the chat box at all and forget getting notified. I just have to go check. I used to get immediate red dots or it would fall in front of my face with a banner. I checked all the settings. Even turned on and off. I figured a work around. I only use the app now so I’m not missing messages. But never get real time messages. Especially when I’m trying to start a party or join one. It’s usually too late and messages read the same “ I never got this. I’m sorry. I’m just seeing this”

Pretty good but also sorta weird.. It’s a good app and it’s cool how you’re able to cast things from the VR headset, but the app itself is just unconditionally laggy, and I’m not the only one with this problem because it’s not my phone. When I move to different locations, such as settings to home or whatever, it buffs and consistently pops up the “enable Bluetooth” screen over and over again each time I attempt to do something. For some reason there’s a bug that causes the app to always display 9 notifications, and I’ve searched the entire application, it’s settings, marked news as read, double checked the news, delete and reinstall the app, but they wouldn’t go away. I’ve been stuck with these problems since I’ve had it, which was when it first came onto the AppStore I believe, and there’s been plenty of updates, yet none of the major bugs for me have been updated.

Can’t log in with Facebook account + Other errors. I have been trying to fix my oculus quest 2 for 3 hours now. Yes I have been in touch with customer support, and no it’s not helpful at all. Every time I log in with my Facebook account on the oculus app, it always says “Try again later” or “error occurred”. It never actually lets me sign up, so trust me, I will be returning this very soon. I won’t lie, the setup is pretty nice and the design over all. But not being able to login or sign up is pretty aggravating. I also was supposed to get an email confirmation and never got one. I’m going to wait until tomorrow, but so far nothing. I’ve tried it on many different accounts, I just can’t get past email verification. Please fix this or whatever the problem is, from what I’ve heard this issue started happening two years ago which says a lot. If I don’t get an email soon, I’m gonna get that 300 bucks back!!

Why Facebook now????. This was an amazing app. I could play Roblox VR, other games and I was very happy! Until I woke up one day to finding out I was logged out of my account because of a Facebook update. I was like "Oh okay, I'll just log back in, no biggie!" Yes biggie. I dont even have a Facebook account so I had to make one. When I made one though, it said "Sorry, there was a problem connecting your Facebook account. Please try again later". I memorize this quote because 1, I've tried so many times. 2, It's on my screen right now because I'm so frusterated. Also, I don't have a Facebook account, it says my Oculus account was connected to MY Facebook account (I don't connect anything unless it's necessary to my accounts- connecting a Facebook account is unecessary.) There's not even an option to create a new oculus account on my screen. I just want to play VR. Why did you have to add Facebook into a VR company??

Don’t be discouraged yet. I was getting super scared because I saw that most of the reviews they said the app doesn’t even work anymore. But then I got my oculus and it all worked fine. So if you see any of those critical comments maybe read the good ones. The performance on the oculus quest 2 is awesome. It has really good lenses but, you have to make sure that the headset does not touch any sunlight or the lenses will get messed up. It also has a really good boundary feature. It is super accurate unlike other headsets. It really helps a lot that the headset is wireless unless you use the link cable. I also would recommend the bobo VR head strap if you wanted a good experience with it. Overall the Oculus Quest 2 is probably one of the best headsets that is a pretty decent price

My headset is cool but this app is clunky.. Primary problem being that it crashes immediately after being opened pretty regularly, there are several things that the devs need to figure out. Next up: for people with poor internet connection, there is no option to stream videos at 240 or 480, so when my rural internet provider forgets what they’re doing there’s no way for me to watch a trailer without 10 minutes of buffering. When streaming the headset’s display to my phone, I can turn the volume down to one notch, but I can’t mute it. This is annoying since I can already hear the audio from the headset itself if I’m standing right next to whoever is playing. Finally, I don’t know if this is specifically an app problem, but even though I get a notification every time I put on the headset that my phone is paired and I’ll receive phone notifications in the headset, I receive no phone notifications.

Not helpful. I used the oculus air link for a while before it stopped working and just kept showing me the three white dots for loading, I’ve tried a majority of steps to fix the issue but none of them worked, and when I watched the video on how to set it up, it said that the basic requirements didn’t require ethernet (which was one that my oculus said was recommended) and I may have to restart my entire oculus, fix your products Meta. I’d also like to mention that it doesn’t matter if the air link exists Meta, I know very well that your product can run pc games without issues, but you still make it to where you need to setup a whole time consuming process that takes up hours of your day, I’m going to buy a valve index soon after writing this, because at least valve knows how to make something good. I have an idea Meta, why not make a PC oriented oculus? it’s a very good idea from a corporate perspective, you’d get more money from both oculus quest 2 and the PC one, think about it, and I know how much you like money.

Oculus is great, Social tab on app won’t work. I love my Oculus, however the social tab on my app on my iPhone will never load so I cannot see friends or chat messages….even when it tells me there is a notification. There is the same error every time that says “Unable to load. Please try again later”. This has been going on for weeks, so I decided to contact oculus support. After 30 min of searching I realized that they have no phone support number, so I resorted to the chat feature. Clearly a chat feature doesn’t have as many capabilities as phone support so after another 30 minutes, I was told they have no clue what is wrong with my app and were sending it to be further investigated….and that I would hear back by email (not phone of course) in 3-5 days. I’m disappointed in the lack of support available for devices that cost $400 a piece and their associated app. App support needs to be available, as the techs seem to only know how to support the devise, not the associated software.

OUTSTANDING. This app this headset these games, OUTSTANDING! The quality the support the community OUTSTANDING! I could go on for forever about all the awesome features. Legitimately the only thing that I wish you could do without going through a step by step progress on how to download like 5 things just to listen to music in the background while you are playing. If you would respond it would mean a lot to me. I love your work it’s the best headset for vr by far. You guys blew it out of the ballpark. I had my oculus for about 3 years now. (Quest 2) I really didn’t realize all the different stuff you could do, from playing tag as a monkey with no legs or play have almost like light sabers and cut boxes in half while you can vibe to songs of all kind like Bad Guy by Billie. The point is this game this console this everything O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G.

Like my quest pro! Wish it did not require a phone app to set up. Having a great time with VR art apps! But It occurred to me that the headset should be truly self-contained: not requiring ANY connection to a phone app to set it up with your account. There is no technical reason it’s needed. Also the linkage between the app and the headset should be less difficult to manage, as well as switching between different accounts for different people who are using it, because you will want to share it with others! and they will prefer to use their own accounts. Redeeming referrals doesn’t seem to work for some users? Why is it greyed out? App sharing for families should go across multiple devices, let us get a wider variety of apps than just five copies of beat saber, or whatever. Apps that are in the Dev Lab should not be hidden from view -some of these are really amazing and deserve to be seen But I would like the option to hide games that I don’t want to look at from the store, such as Arizona sunshine. parents will agree with this Please simplify everything, users will thank you for it!

Always bugs. Between bugs and poorly documented quirks, this can be so aggravating. What to fix (Aug 2020): social icon is a black hole. Doesn’t work and have to force close app. Pairing is super weird sometimes. This app tells you to go to Bluetooth settings, enable and pair. That may not be correct. Check the oculus app settings (hard to find) and enable every thing. There are too many ways this fails, so better documentation and trouble shooting would make sense. The headset has its own issues I could leave out such as crashing/freezing while in the store! It updated without me knowing, remained in loading (ellipsis) forever. Then I couldn’t see the controllers as it went into a new tutorial of old features I couldn’t skip. Please focus on stability before adding features. I’m a sr sw architect. This is poor ux, but I will compliment for making it slightly better a year or so later. It would be great if there was documentation on how to make the best of PCVR. The app says Rift and Go, but not Oculus. Update the descriptions. I’ve seen this in many other places like Steam. Idk what works or not.

Best VR app ever. You see other reviews saying it's So bad it's not! I got a VR for Christmas and we have been using this app and it's GREAT! You can watch what your VR is doing when your on it. And you can buy games on the app. And you can buy games in packs for less money it's GREAT! Also one time I was playing a game on my VR and my dad said I had to get onto a different game so we could play together and I didn't get off so he went on the app and pressed the game we wanted to play together and pressed start streaming or something like that and my Vr can go to that game. This actually did not happen but that's something the app can do! This app is so good and helpful! And there's no problems with this app! I highly recommend this app if you have a VR! And you dont have to pair a VR you can just look at games if you just want a VR! So I hope this review was helpful!!

No push notifications?. I got the app to see what it is and how it works. From what I've seen, it's very polished. Everything seems to be working. So why has the app not given me an alert to either allow or block push notifications? The notifications themselves inside the app work how they're supposed to, but I don't get notified outside of the app. Everything is checked to ON for the Mobile switch for each and every type of notifications in the appropriate settings in the app. I shouldn't have to be paranoid and check the app every few seconds to see what my friends are texting all because the app didn't initially tell me to allow notifications. The setting doesn't even exist in iPhone settings, it's not available. I reinstalled the app too, but came fruitless. I am completely softlocked from this simple bug. This NEEDS to be fixed. Even FACEBOOK has more functional working notifications than this.

i am having trouble with some stuff.... ok, i think the app is good, but im here to seek help for my actual oculus, so, i tried to play walking dead saints and sinners, but it kept crashing, so i was like, oh well, i'll play something else, but a lot of my games are out of date so i opened up the shop, and it said something like please try again later or something. it has been like this for WEEKS and i've done so much to try and get it to work again like it used to, i've restarted my oculus, i've powered it off numerous times and every time it has not worked, i've also deleted the app and reinstalled it and it didn't help, so i was wondering if there's any thing that can help that does not require a factory reset, and if it needs a factory reset, is there any way to get my data back without having to pay for it all again?

Amazing system, great and easy to use app. So, if you’re reading this, your either a possible customer or someone who works for Oculus. For the customer, here’s what I have to say: It’s a great app, I have an Oculus Quest and it works wonderfully. Definitely worth it. Now, for the Employee/Representative: I love this app, as well as the system I bought (the quest) but, I have one thing I’d suggest. I don’t have a credit card, so I buy Apple Giftcards for the App Store and use those to pay for things. I did this and attempted to buy AriZona Sunshine from the app using that idea, but it prompted me with a screen asking for either a credit card or PayPal (I have none) so my suggestion is to make it so you can pay for games through the Apple-Appstore and it be a separate thing that you can do, but also completely optional. That’s my suggestion, love the Quest, keep up the great work 👌🏻

The best reasons to use this are all broken.. The app is presented to the user in a useful and intuitive way, but lacks execution. Exhibit A; the recently added Mixed Reality Camera (a feature which made me immediately re-download the app). For those who don’t know, this gives the user the capability to record yourself in your surroundings in VR, with augmented-reality capable phones (iPhone 7 Plus and up)*. This feature just doesn’t work. The app in the headset tells me to use the phone and the phone just casts, doesn’t offer anything else where everything should be. Exhibit B; the phone notifications. This feature works maybe 60% of the time and refuses to let me unpair the headset to the phone via Bluetooth when I need to repair it (I CANT DELETE THE HEADSET FROM MY BLUETOOTH), which I need to repair the system if the notification flow to the headset stops. This is a pity as this capability was added a while ago and still hasn’t really been patched. At this point this app just gives your headset a bunch of half-baked capabilities that only work half of the time. Wouldn’t suggest use after you’ve gotten past initial setup of headset. *in the instructions it says iPhone X and up, but the supposed capability is aligned with the 7 Plus, and has been seen in other instances working as well as the new phones. In short, there’s 0 reason why this shouldn’t LOAD, not that it should work or connect.

The most useless app on the planet. Went to get on one day and it had randomly logged me off. Considering that it was a year after I created the account and I don’t always write my passwords down (mainly because it’s 99% of the time the same password) so I didn’t think anything would go wrong. I entered my typical password and it didn’t work. I created my account with Facebook, and, amid trying to log in with that, it said my password had failed too. So, like anyone in my situation would do, I went to create a new password. IT TOOK ME BACK TO FACEBOOK. If my password didn’t work for that and I hit “create new password” why would you take me to something that needs my password?! The whole process is ridiculous and half the time doesn’t even recognize my email. I’ve tried the phone number route but it never recognizes that either. Considering that this is a $400 electronic, I’d assume the app that went with it would be able to log me in. And yes, I had it to always log me in. I have been attempting to log in for 5 months now and nothing has happened. If you’re going to make someone spend a hefty amount on something you made, make it work. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!

Great app but sorta app breaking glitch.. I’ve never had problems with this app before a few weeks or so ago (first week of Jan. 2022) infact it’s a pretty useful and great app, but recently it’s just been all grey with any area of the app you pick not showing up, even settings. I had to delete the app entirely and reinstall it, I couldn’t get any help in the support page of oculus, and had to figure out a way to fix it myself. You shouldn’t have to delete and reinstall it to make an app work however, please fix this when you get the chance, I want more of my friends to get an oculus so i have more of them to play this with, but if the main app isn’t working that’s a major turn off to the product as a whole. Other than this the app has great features and you can reflect what you see onto your phone for others to see, and make your own profile.

Fixed what wasn't broken and broke it.. Facebook/oculus customer support is absolutely terrible and slow to respond. I had my account set up and my Facebook connected they made new updates that required you to change things in your account so now I cannot access the chat feature in the app without connecting my Facebook that WAS already connected before. I hen I go to connect my Facebook I get a "something went wrong" error I'm logged into the Facebook app on my phone everything is updated but I still get the error. Can't use half of the apps features without things being connected. I am literally paying for something that does not work. Not to mention none of my synced files are synced any long and on my headset it says they are synced but nothing shows in the app. The execution of everything here is bad as well as the customer support. The product would be amazing if it wasn't such a headache to use and actually worked. Facebooks entire setup is MESSY and BUGGY.

Needs Updating. While the app works, it’s not without issues. I’m using an iPhone 12 Pro Max and the app is poorly designed from a UX standpoint. The margins are too thin on the top and bottom and it seems like the developers just ignored Apple’s “safe area” suggestions. It’s difficult to tap on the search icon because it overlaps the network/battery icon in the upper right corner (same for the back button when it appears on the upper left). Once you do get the search bar opened, it’s under the notch and takes several taps in random spots to open the keyboard. The icons at the bottom of the screen are also under the home indicator. Aside from those issues, videos rarely load. I know it’s not my network, every other app works fine and I’ve tried on various different networks. Half the time the screen will just turn black and you have to close the app and reopen it. If these issues are resolved, I’ll be sure to update my review. But, as of now, the app is a mess and needs work.

Too many stupid parents buying this for their dumb kids. I was in love with this system for a long time because I could actually converse with adults without the risk of being banned from my headset. I’m an adult and if I wanna have adult conversations that might be a little late night hbo that should be no issue. But for some reason meta loves to go against its own policies while enforcing stupid ones. 1. Kids should be thirteen and up before using this. It’s not millions of way under ten year olds. Even in venues you create a bar where you can pretend to drink beer but yet some idiots kid is in there at a bar late at night and their parents blocking me because they don’t like my language. This is ridiculous. I’ve bought every single game on the store but they could care less about me but love putting kids in front of me in situations they shouldn’t be in the first place. I’ve recorded my dealing through a second party recorder because you can’t trust theirs especially if they are doing something very wrong.

From meh to decent to meh. This app sure has gone through some changes. It originally lacked a ton of features and over the years has slowly improved to the point that it was actually pretty nice to use. This latest version that just came out basically makes it impossible to use one-handed if you have a large phone. Through the process of rearranging everything, notifications are now a tiny bell icon at the top right of the screen and you can no longer swipe right to go back to the previous screen, forcing you to click the back buttons at the top left of each screen. Seriously, please at least add the swipe to go back functionality back in! The added features with regards to casting and stuff are welcome changes, but the lack of maneuverability isn’t. Help us big phone folks out.

So frustrating. So I bought a new controller and I needed to connect it to the headset and apparently I needed this app to do so which I think is just dumb when it should be done through the headset itself but that’s another thing, anyways after I downloaded the app and did all the tedious things to sign in I finally signed in and “connected” my phone to the headset (not really) and after finishing watching a video about connecting my controller to the headset I noticed when I went to settings and devices one of the options was grayed out. That was the option I needed to connect my controller and then I noticed the headset isn’t really connected at all and doesn’t want to connect at all so in a fit of rage I started beating my old controller and snapped it in half like liu Kang and deleted the app right after because of how delayed my phone was becoming because of this app and after the deletion my phone was back to normal and my sanity as well.

Great app for Quest owners. I e seen many 1 star reviews that make no sense. They are rating the app based on their experience with their headsets. If I were to review the Oculus Quest it would definitely get 4.5 stars. The app however gets a full five stars as it does so much cool stuff. My favorite thing is being able to check my battery while charging my headset. Also being able to see if I need new batteries for my controllers is awesome. I know those data points are on the Quest Menu Bar but when your charging you may not have the Quest available to check so you can use the app. I love that I can buy and install games directly to my headsets from the app too. There are just so many cool things this app allows you to do. I’ve seen lots of tech and I’m not easily impressed by tech nowadays however the Oculus Quest and this companion app have highly impressed me. I haven’t been wowed like this by tech since I first wrote a program in basic back on a TRS-80 (Trash 80 for those who remember them) in the mid 80’s(I’m old I know). Thanks for an exciting and joyous experience both in the app and on the console.

App is very buggy on iPhone 14 Pro. My review is strictly for the app, not my experiences with my Quest 2 or my opinion about the Facebook corporation. Being able to cast from my headset to my phone is awesome and works most of the time. My problems lie with the other functionalities of the app. Why on the media gallery can’t I delete unwanted videos or photos? When I click on the media there is a garbage can icon but nothing happens when I press on it (bug?). Another issue, I’m on my 3rd headset (had problems with the other 2) but there’s no place in the app to remove those old devices in my Meta account so all 3 are always on the cast screen with no way to differentiate the active one. Also, while navigating through the apps screens, I often find that there aren’t any back button (more bugs?) so I’m constantly hard closing the app just to get back to the Home Screen. It’s just really sloppy bugs that shouldn’t be there with a little bit of QA.

Oculus 2 great, but broken. The Oculus Quest 2 was great at the start. But then later on, it was very glitchy. When it turned on, there’s 2 options. Room-scale boundary or Stationary boundary. Which ever one you click on, it doesn’t matter. The screen will just go completely black after and then those 3 dots will show up for about 15 seconds. Then it goes straight back to the 2 options. No matter which one you chose, it’ll just go black and then straight back to those 2 options. And on rare occasions it does work after you chose an option, but then you can’t even do anything. All the apps are gone. When you go to the store it says something like Oops! Nothing to see here! Nothing works. So it’s either you can’t turn it on, or you can, but then you can’t even play anything.

Problem logging in.. So this I gonna be short but I can’t log. Every time I try to log info though oculus then it it brings me to Facebook log in and how is this bad? Well every time put in my password and email it’s says “this account is merged log in through facebook” or something like that but how am gonna log in through Facebook when I do that but it takes me to oculus page to log in. ok now I will talk about why I gave it 3 stars in the first place well when I DID have my account it was pretty easy and the pin system is kinda good but I forgot my pin and can’t get any more games and you can really get games any were you want so if your on vacation and want to play a game on your VR when you come back then get the game and it will be there downloaded and yeah that’s really it so bye.

What in Tarantino is going on. (Scroll down for summarized version) So Oculus is great and having an app that keeps all your recordings in one spot and being able to buy from the store, great! However, this app barely EVER works. When browsing the store and looking at a game in particular, whenever you go back to the search page or whatever, nothing. I have to restart the app and make my search again to keep browsing. I thought they’d have fixed it in yesterdays update but alas, same thing happens today. Another gripe of mine is how slow and buggy saving game clips is. I don’t share to Facebook, I like to download them and it works about 30 percent of the time. The other 70, it just gives me a loading circle. Anyway, the app os owned by meta and im sure they have access to all kinds of programmers, so why are we experiencing so many bugs with this app?? In short, the app has great features, but is buggy as all heck

Best VR App ever. I love this app, the oculus quest 2 was released so recently and we got one on the 24th of October 2020, I love this app and what games have to offer, but I think it’s missing one game that I really want to play on VR, and that is Island 359, yeah sure it’s on the app but only on the Oculus Rift and Rift S, and that’s a Headset that you need a pc for. I very much wish Island 359 was available for purchase on Oculus Quest and Oculus Quest 2, other than that it was amazing, I remember downloading the app way before and found out you need a Facebook account to get into the app, then I uninstalled the app and when my sister got the headset, she had installed the app and I forgot about the matter. After some time, I decided to download the Oculus app once again and at that time I didn’t realize that I had installed the app before so it was reinstallable at the time. I love the app and funnily enough I also found out that one of the games known as “Rec Room” was on VR, PS4, PC, and Mobile, I laughed a lot at the time.

Updated review and Fix for pairing oculus quest. Okay, I finally got past the pairing issue I had where the oculus quest refused to pair. It turns out it was an issue where the iPhone required an iOS update and once I did that, it paired no problem. Developers should please add this to the help with setting up an oculus quest. After that, smooth sailing. App is great, quest works really well. While the battery life will last about 4 hours, it’s still good enough because you don’t want to be in it too long. All the apps and games are great. I hope more become available soon and that more become cross play as I have an oculus rift also and would enjoy some of those games on the quest as well. Beat saber is crazy good! Also, the oculus app has no lag or issues and you can find the games easy. I would like to see a complete browse all feature so you can scroll through every game available - not sure if I missed it. App is same on phone as it is within headset. Flawless integration. I would like to see a power off feature inside the headset instead of pressing and holding the button to shut down. Keep up the great work!

Nice headset (Quest 2), buggy app. The app has an option to install downloaded game to headset. Which would be nice if it worked! But it takes multiple power button presses on the headset and trying to connect app to headset before app connects. Then once it says connected, if you can get it to stay connected, the you get the option to install. I click on the headset and install, then it does nothing. I have to put unplug headset, put on headset, walk to my guardian area, get out the hand controllers, scroll through menus and then install game. After all that, I look at the app and it says installing?? Why have the app, it doesn’t work correctly! So far after only having this for a couple days I’ve already encountered multiple bugs with the app and the headset software, with random glitches, freezing and power off’s. Hopefully developers fix these bugs!

Needs a bit more work. A couple of updates ago the iPad UI got really big, you can only see 2-3 items without scrolling. That’s just way to big for 12,9” devices. The top banners are cut in half so you can’t see what they are. When doing a search on the iPad (on the 12.9 pro and prolly the 10.5” pro as well), nothing shows up. You have to tap the search field again, then a small part of the screen shows a cut off/squished box with the results. Would like to see ability to update apps/games (on Quest 2) from the app. Would like to see available Quest 2 storage in the app. Would like to be able to uninstall apps/games from the app. Some other things, but most of all the iPad UI needs an overhaul. Even simple things like swiping left/right between game images, instead of having to open and close each image (this part of the app have a tendency to bug out, forcing you to kill/restart the app). Also…why hide the wishlist inside the account settings?

Multi-Billion Dollar company can’t maintain an app. This is by far the worst app experience I have ever had. I thoroughly believe a single programmer creating their own app from scratch in their spare time would have made a better app than this. From the get-go, you experience app crashes, freezing, and downright impossibility to move forward without hard closing and resetting the app. If nothing else, PLEASE consider this app before you purchase an oculus device. It took me nearly 1 hour to get through the set up portion of the device ALL thanks to this downright terrible app. If you’d like to try to return a game you recently bought? Good luck having the app work long enough for you to go through the return process. It seems absolutely insane that a company as big as Facebook can’t spare enough resources to fix some of the most app-breaking bugs there can be. I cannot wait to get through this return so I can get this god-forsaken app off of my phone for good.

Please.. This is a very good app to use my VR headset but I want to play roblox in vr I need to do so many things just to play it. Two things I need in this app are, 1. Please add login via oculus in the login screen so you can just login with a link cable because I forgot my Facebook password. I mean I will still be logged in with Facebook. 2. Add roblox player to the app for everyone to download so we don’t need so much gear. And when you download it, just login to your roblox account or make a new one then search for a VR game in roblox and bam your in roblox VR. Please read this and do both of these things to make everyone who has a VR headset and want to play roblox be or login via oculus go through less stress please. I’ll give 5 star if you add these things to the app.

Awesome and AWFUL at the same time. You have to wonder at the lead in charge of the dev team at Oculus. Here you have the most awesome tech, and a group of brilliant creatives working hard to make a genius product, and the Facebook snd Oculus management destroy its mainstream appeal by preventing sensible restraints being implemented by families. That’s right folks, no parental controls whatsoever. None. Your 13 year old baby boy immediately has p@rn pushed his way via the promoted apps and live events. Nothing you can do about it. As an adult, maybe you recognise the potential danger in watching illicit material. Maybe you don’t, either way you should get to simply like or dislike content shown to you, as you do in instagram, so that a user profile is built up. For Facebook and Oculus developers can i reach out and say, “When your beautiful child gets horribly addicted to p@rn because of a device you failed to add reasonable safeguards to, how will you feel?” Why not add user profiles and parental controls? What do you gain by making this unusable for families?

App broken on iPhone 14 Pro. App no longer works on iPhone 14 pro without uninstalling and reinstalling and signing back in. Once signed in the app works until the app is fully closed then it opens to a blank Grey screen. Unable to do anything to get it to work other than uninstall and reinstall and log in but will again only work til the app is closed again. Works fine on iPhone 11 Pro Max. Happens on multiple iOS versions on iPhone 14 pro, even after factory reset as new iPhone. Please fix the app as I cannot keep doing this!!!

Laggy casting. The app is great overall and the store experience is also good. Unfortunately, casting from my Quest 2 to my phone is extremely laggy and not very usable. More options like resolution selection and frame rate selection for casting would also be great.

Awesome hardware, horrific service. I really love my Quest 2 but trying to get any support for warranty issues is impossible. Support simply did not answer for months after they would. Ended up taking the matter to consumer affairs at which point Meta responded like a spoilt toddler on a tantrum by locking my account. So now I have software I can’t install which is made less painful because they never fixed my Quest despite it being a warranty issue (even according to them).

Stupid. So because of a problem that’s been like this with no fix for years I’m unable to use this stupid app because I’m in a never ending loop of linking my already linked account and because it’s already linked it says to use a different email ect ect

No parental control. Although the app works well easy to navigate there is a huge flaw that there are no parental controls. Device is recommended for 13+ yet some games are very violent and graphic. Wrote to oculus and they fobbed the matter off. In a world where online cyber safety is a huge concern it’s very disappointing to have Oculuc / Facebook to not give a toss about its clients safety.

The wireless stuff. I really love the virtual reality and it’s wireless ability but off the app you can’t get roblox and I really wanted to play that in vitual reality and be big and get to use the cool items and drive normal people in drones rc cars and much more but if you team with roblox and let you play it I’ll rate five stars thanks

Just awful! Have they given up?. The app and its connection to the headset are flawed. The setup process behaves as if the developers haven’t actually used it. There’s no way to filter out the mass of violent games and content. The app is filled with the normal Facebook clickbait. Why, when the product is the headset and that’s been paid for? Demoralisingly stupid.

Whey is this happing. This app is great when you have a head set but for some reason sometimes it doesn’t let me launch the app and I don’t know how to fix it can somone help me

Barely functional. Buggy. As in barely functional. Wont finish my set up. Wont launch any of my games. I might have well as bought a paper weight at this point! Wont even connect to the headset for more than a few minutes... and thats if your lucky! And the UI is confusing and not built for humans. Whoever developed this app should be fired for incompetence.

I’m enjoying the app and headset but there’s a bug where when the headset connects to the app the headset settings on the app disappear Please fix this as I’m not able to reconnect my oculus anymore Which cause I had to factory reset it and the internet disconnected halfway through it downloading Basically means I can no longer use my headset

Notifications issue. Once you read a notification the app won’t remove the notification badge from the home screen! Very annoying! Can’t tell if you get new notifications and miss out on them or are too late. 🙁Should be allowed to delete or archive notifications! Maybe then that would fix the notification badge issues.

Easy to buy games, configure devices and setup headsets!. Application works flawlessly *if* you own a Facebook account. I sped straight through the easy tutorial on my Quest and immediately bought a couple games I had tried at a friends place (Rift). However the UI could definitely use an update (like the teased images in the App Store) to suit the brand new UI on the Quest and support for adding friends cross-platform (Quest, Rift S, Rift CV1) with or without a Facebook account is a must as I have friends who can’t have Facebook accounts. Overall TL;DR Easy to use , amazing support, frequent updates and patches keep the application and headset feeling new monthly.

Lacking games....... Hi meta, I don’t have any problems with your games they are fun but the lack of games are making it harder to connect with people, plus the prices of an average meta quest 2 are outrageous therefore making it harder for people to be able to have this really fun experience. Anyways I better get back to gorilla tag OOOooooo

Lots and lots of long term bugs. First, right now it just crashes on startup and isn’t usable. It is up to date and have tried a fresh install. However before that, The clip sharing feature didn’t work at all due to it not properly saving the clips to the photo library (it never even asked permission). The file sharing function doesn’t work at all however I think that’s more likely an issue on the headset side. The recording doesn’t actually save the recordings or screenshots anywhere, making it useless. Honestly I doubt Facebook will bother to put the budget into fixing these bugs as they seem to be much too busy spending it elsewhere like pointless diversionary name changes.

Shidded itself. Whenever I open it, it just crashes in a kinda odd way. Fixes itself after deleting and re-downloading

Great App, but Buggy. Being able to cast my Quest 2’s display to a mobile device is like magic, but occasionally results in a bug where I only have a solid grey colour on my screen. The only way I can fix this is by removing and reinstalling the app. Switching topics, I suggest adding the ability for developers to let people customise their game settings and game modes from within the mobile app. This would allow experienced users to have more control over the device while first-timers try out games.

Fantastic, just one more feature can make this better. When I used it, it was easy to use. I use this for telling my friends that my oculus is out of charge (because I play on it until it shuts down) and getting apps while my quest is charging. Although, I think I know how to make this app perfect. I have recently lost my left controller and since you can use it in different locations, it is hard to find. If you can have a find my controller (like how apple has it’s find my iPhone/iPad), you could add that feature. It can work since when I turn on my quest, it can see the battery life of the controller.

Good but not excellent. I have loved using this app it is very well made but there are stil a few ruff corners like there is no land scape support and it sometimes kicks you of the app.

The app doesn’t open. I just get a black screen whenever I try open it. Only re-downloading it gets me some time with it until I close and try to re-open it. Thankfully the quest is running but not being able to use the mandatory app is pretty poor

Add roblox or. Roblox has many vr games to play but Oculas doesn’t have Roblox on the Oculas store. It would be great to have Roblox on the app so you don’t have to link it with you pc or laptop that’s why Roblox should be on the app! I would rate this a 5 but…. For some reason after I finish setting up my account/my dads account on the meta quest app, it all works and I can see it. But after I fully get out of the app, i try to get back in but it just loads onto a grey screen and doesn’t go into the actual app. Please fix this!

Need more!?!?. I really love my oculus quest it is so amazing but I’m pretty bored of it and really haven’t had it that long, it comes between what the app lets you get and the prices of the games. The average of games is at least $30 which is way too high when you want multiple games, then you have to think about the games I can’t even download ROBLOX, ROBLOX, it is such a light game I have never experienced lag on it with my phone and the quest is so much better than a phone I would love to see access to at least ROBLOX and the game Pavlov !! though it would be great to get minecraft as well I know this would definitely get me playing more often.

Works sometimes. There’s a problem when downloading synced photos, it only lets you download 1 or 2 before it breaks and lets you do nothing else, it also doesn’t show all your photos that are downloaded

Where is developer mode. I can’t seem to find developer mode and I have mad an organisation already but I still can’t find it Also this is a great app for the quest

Won’t connect to Go. Update: all of a sudden it worked ok. I have no idea what changed. Excited to have my headset kit arrive only to have wasted hours trying to connect without any success. Following this apps instructions to a T and it will not connect! I’ve tried multiple WiFi networks and phones to get devices talking to each other, but they won’t pair! I cannot progress.

It’s good. I like it a lot but their is not many games that don’t cost money and it’s a bit to heavy for my head uther then that it is really good and it looks really Arealistic

Meta is interfering.. Exiting a game on my headset, I’m trying to search for friends I’ve met online and meta comes up and demands me to enter a bunch of personal details that it didn’t require before. Why? I have no idea. Now I can’t remember anything I wanted to look up on the app. Great, thanks for inserting yourself where you weren’t wanted Meta.

Landscape mode for iPad Pro please!. Hi there! The app is great - but I have a sore neck from looking at it sideways! Since when my iPad Pro is connected to its magic keyboard, the app doesn’t rotate to landscape.

Typical Facebook mentality - hopeless. So my credit card has expired and is there anyway at all to update it in the app??! Of course not! I can’t make as si for purchase anymore. you need to log into your FB account and go via settings, but of course when I do that, the card isn’t even there to update. Stop forcing people to use FB! Give me an option in the app for these settings.

Love my Quest, iOS app is buggy. Lately the iOS app shows a brief flash of content when I open it and then goes to a blank screen. The only way I can resolve is to uninstall and reinstall and that only lasts a day or two. It’s a known issue based on a forum I found, which meta replied to, in a totally unhelpful way (check your phone is compatible etc auto reply)

The in app camera button not functioning. I tried to cast and i cannot press the button to include myself on casting i tried to reboot many times the app and its still the same i can only pressed the record button but not with camera

Great, but needs landscape mode. Sometimes when browsing the store on it the right side of the screen is cut off and portrait mode can get annoying. Please add a landscape option.

Store won’t take my card or PayPal details. The store won’t let me add my card to my account so I’m not able to buy games. Also when I use try to use paypal it doesn’t work either, telling me that there’s something unusual going on and I should try again later. Don’t know why it’s happening but surely a simple bug like that can be fixed. Didn’t spend over $450 for nothing

Landscape is average on iPad/MacOS. Please design app to also work in landscape. Please also fix landscape view of casting to be rotated the opposite direction, as the current design does not work with most cases (left hand side down) & it is completely upside down on MacOS, so the “just turn it around” trick doesn’t really work.

Changing accounts. I woul like to have a feature to unlink an account but still have your data saved just different accounts

Wish this app worked on iPad devices. The app works great but it would be even better if it was compatible with iPad devices. We use Oculus GO at my work which is an Aged Care Facility and the residents love this but monitoring what they are seeing is quite difficult on small phone screen.

Terrible game title browser. When browsing games. Don’t bother tapping to watch a trailer for the title, the video plays for 3 seconds and then the screen fades to black and you can’t do anything besides force quitting the app. I was reading game reviews and the app crashed my phone. Literal spinning wheel. Will happily adjust my rating when I can actually browse titles for oculus quest 2 using this app.

Does its job but it’s very slow. The app is alright and I can use it but once you click on something it takes a while for it to actually pop up which makes things boring

Pairing to headset and casting does not work. I have tried every possible solution to fix these issues, same Wifi network, connected via bluetooth, restarting devices, even using a different phone and they all did nothing. It seems to be Meta’s own app is the sole cause. Meta, please fix your unreliable app as people getting a new VR headset would possibly not be able to use it properly as it is part of the setup process.

Hi Oculus!. I haven’t officially tried this app out, but I have one question! Can you make it so it’s easier to play games? i honestly don’t know if I can’t play a game that I play a lot on my iPad and computer (ROBLOX) because it says it’s 12+ and maybe my account says I’m not? (ROBLOX is okay for even 7 year olds. You can just block people who are annoying you, and if enough people report someone they will be given a warning. For enough warnings you get banned for 1-2 days and for enough bans the person’s account will be deleted, I think) I know it’s absolutely possible to play this game on VR because other people do it, but it just doesn’t show up on the app store! Please make it easier to play and install games :)

Great app - features broken. Casting simply doesn’t work. I’ve looked up all manner of troubleshooting, the solution shouldn’t be workarounds, but that’s what everyone is doing and recommends. Wifi otherwise is completely fine in my house and I can cast anything else without extra hardware, if it’s simply this complicated, go a different route oculus! The app itself for buying and browsing games is great! I don’t want to take away from that, but casting is a serious negative.

Doesn’t open.... I’ve been using the app just fine (except for the video section not loading) for the past year, and only now does the app literally not get past the very first loading screen when you press on the app. I’ve waited for like a month now for this to be fixed, and I’ve redownloaded the app multiple times, but it just doesn’t work.

Cannot register using email. After downloading the Oculus app, the next step is to set up an account. As this is a Facebook product it tries really hard to get you to set up using your existing Facebook account. It does give you the option of using your email account however the link they’ve supposedly sent to your email address never arrives. After checking and rechecking the email address and requesting resending the link multiple times, no link appears and set up cannot be completed. Upon going back and choosing the Facebook option of creating and registering my account and device- everything works perfectly and the account is set up. Funny that...

It’s good. I personally have no problem with anything at all except this. My oculus runs fine, it doesn’t take too long to download games and all games I’ve purchased are amazing. I just want to change my name. As a member of the transgender community who has just recently changed his name I think this would be a good thing to add. Names don’t always stay the same and we shouldn’t have to make a new account to prove that.

Slow slow slow. This ap is so slow and annoying I usually give up and turn it off even before the stupid ads load. It’s like malware it’s so annoying for ads. All games based on the same engine too.

Ok so the good: You can buy things You can see some basic info about your headset and do casting The bad: Clearly a react native app, loading feels clunky, videos dont even play properly in the store (it plays for a second and goes black) I have to goto the web to see them. Additionally the position of the back button isn’t quite right because it overlaps with the system “back to search” What’s missing: It would be great to have your oculus move integrate with Apple health, please get this working.

Problem to see game video. Can not play game video on iphone 8plus.

Cant get to run on iPhone 14 pro max. Spent 30+ min on chat with Meta tech tonight, 39 min yesterday. Cannot get app to run on iPhone 14 pro max, 16.3.1. Followed all tech instructions. Works fine on wife’s iPhone 13 Pro Max. I can even run the iPhone app on my MacBook Pro!! (Can’t cast correctly but everything else works). Enter correct email and password and the two fields (email and password) go blank. Can’t go further. Want to be able to cast.

I can’t pair. I am gonna re try right now to pair because I uninstalled the app. I have had an account for a bit on my tablet so to use it on my phone I logged out of my tablet. Now it just takes years to pair.

Not intuitive. I must say there are plenty of other games that I play at my old age and this game is totally opposite. There’s no option to join your friends of them chat or report them, which is the opposite of what I want to do! I am how I may give it a one star next time, it’s so frustrating!

Good. Good, but needs iPad support! The UI is a bit clunky. Hope it is just a foundation that will be built upon over time. Love the Quest headset but the prices are far too high for these “games” that are more like tech demos with a high price tag. Hope this app starts offering a “sales” tab soon!

Video won’t download. After 20 mins I finally sync my video but when I go to download it it shows a network error for only that video! This sucks because you guys need to improve your ways of downloading and fix this network error WHEN I HAVE INTERNET!

Uncaring, incompetent app makers. The app has stopped functioning on my ipad mini 2 since this january and these people haven’t done a thing to fix it despite all my messages. None of their updates since has done anything to make the app work again on my ios. Utterly disappointing and a display of a pitiful lack of skill and customer care

Error. My Quest 2 arrived and when setting it up initially it requires it to be linked to the Oculus mobile app and to log into facebook. The problem is that when I log in using Facebook I receive an error message telling me that my account has been merged and that I need to go back and log into the app using Facebook...which is what I’m trying to do. So now I’m stuck in an infinite error loop and a useless Oculus. I’ve submitted a ticket with Oculus’ support and have gotten no where in 24 hours so far, and am debating wether I should return it if I don’t get help in a day or two. I’m feeling very let down and frustrated as there’s nothing I can do except wait/hope.

“Referral”. I bought my quest 2 and it said in store credit if referred for you and your friend but will not work I have emailed many times about it and other issues and nothing back!

Fix the app. The quest 2 runs fine but any time I need to use the app I have to delete it and redownload it in so I can see anything. Then after using it for a couple minutes the screen goes black and I need to do the whole process again.

It won’t let me create an account saying “blocked” and I can’t use my headset.. I try to log in but it says “you have been temporarily blocked” but I’m not sure what their definition of temporarily is cuz I haven’t been unblocked since. I’m not even sure what I did to get blocked I mean I’ve never used meta or Facebook before. I’m unable to create an account and now can’t even use my vr headset. This company focuses on useless “metaverse” projects but can’t even fix what is essential to customer satisfaction work.

Can’t cast to Samsung Frame TV. The Oculus is ok but it does not find my TV in the options for casting, so the family can’t participate (despite YouTube casting fine).

Meta Quest App. Latest update now causes the app to terminate immediately after I try to start it. I’ve tried re-installing, to no avail. (Jan 22, 2023)

My review on the oculus quest.. So the oculus quest is AMAZING. So far I’ve loved it. Though a couple problems I’ve had with it are, not being able to capture what happened in the last couple minutes, the heavy lack of games, and the expensive games. Apart from that I have not had much problems with it. I highly recommend the quest and hope you have a good time with it.

App is pretty decent. I think the app is well thought out, definitely makes it easier navigating around the Oculus. One issue that I am having is that I will sync videos from my oculus to my phone (which by the way I have to do atleast 15 times before it actually goes through) and when it does go through, a symbol of a wifi bar and exclamation mark in the middle show up. I can view the information of the video just not the video. I am pretty annoyed at this point, I have both of them on the same wifi connection so there isn’t much left I can think of doing.

App keeps kicking me out on my I phone I have 12.5.7iso. I keep trying to get the app open but kicks me out I have updated my phone and still won’t work

Good while it lasts. I have to leave this app open on my phone all the time. If I close it, it has a blank screen when I reopen it so I have to delete and redownload it. Every. Single. Time. To make it work again.

This app is unbelievably bad. It drops every single recording when trying to film game play. I checked it 3 times to make sure it was recording and it still didn’t save the damn recording. It crashes constantly, it acts like it’s possessed, it feels like it’s as bad as it can be on purpose. Like OMG give me a ding or something to tell me it stopped recording. I’ve never streamed with something so bad. Please just make a way to record live overlay from PC already. These smartphone apps are holding VR gameplay footage back so hard that it makes you want to just quit doing it!

My Account Is Gone. All My Progress And All The Money I Spent Just Disappeared Because Some Stupid Update Told Me To Log Into Another Account And Now I Can’t Get Into My Original Account. I’t’s Just Stupid.

Abysmal. This app doesn’t only bring the technology behind this product back to earth, it buries it. The app regularly freezes, half the features are inaccessible (try recording a video of someone using the casting feature - you can’t change the mode), and the casting feature regularly crashes. Beyond that, the pairing capabilities are laughably bad. You can’t connect the headset to more than one mobile device for casting/purchases. Above all, the UI of the app is obnoxiously confusing. Key features are buried behind convoluted screens and are difficult to find. This app should be a case study in how to destroy the capability of cutting edge tech with lazy software development. Absolute garbage.

Meta update messed up my quest.. When the new meta update came out I created a meta account. what I didn’t know is none of my data would transfer the way it’s supposed to. Eventually I got it to work. when I launch my oculus I need a code to… I don’t even know, but the code keeps failing and now I can’t use my oculus/meta quest. This isn’t the first time things like this have happened to me.

Perfect, but please add better games…. VR is good, but please, add more games like.. Rick and Morty VR, and new games if you can, just a request :)

Black screen on previews. Can’t watch previews

Syncing not working. The only feature I got this app for was to sync my video clips to my phone. Like many others, I can’t play the videos in the app because they show a wifi symbol. I’m connected on a gigabit wifi on both devices with no other network issues. Worst of all, I see people reporting this issue as much as a year ago with no fix in sight.

Ridiculous waste of time.. Since the change to “meta” they are not helping their brand. This app stopped working. Won’t let me in no matter which way I try it. I have “successfully” changed passwords several times and it says you’re good , then tells me wrong password when I try to login. I have tried every mode. Logging in with email, logging in with Facebook. Logging in with meta account. Nothing. And INTERESTINGLY, not only are they not doing anything to address the issue, but they aren’t even responding to the complaints. They should just pull the app. Makes me crazy that both the companies, and apple have no checks or filters in the App Store for these types of issues. It’s why the App Store has become crap as well.

App keeps crashing when I open it.. When I open the Oculus app it just goes back to my normal I phone home screen and I have no idea what is going on. Because as soon as I installed the new update a few days ago it keeps crashing. Can’t login. I accidentally used another Facebook account to sign in, now no matter what I do I cannot login with my actual Facebook. The app forces you to sign in with whatever account you login in with, some self error, but why can’t I just login with a different account? I went as far as to create an account with that Facebook, and then when I logged out to try and see if I could login, it still forced me to use the account I accidentally logged in with. They have a “Not You?” Button, but it’s useless. All it does is just boot you back to the screen where you choose what you’d like to use to sign in, if you accidentally login with the wrong account using Instagram, Facebook, or even Meta itself. You might as well just delete the app, because you’re not gonna be able to get onto your account.

Login.. I’ve been a quest user for about a year and a half now and just a month or two ago I was logged out of my Meta Quest app on my phone when I tried to open it to look at my notifications. I thought it was weird and tried to login with my Facebook account that I’ve been using since day 1. It didn’t work and said that it’s having problems using Facebook to login. I thought ‘no big deal, I’ll try again later’. 1 to 2 months later after trying weekly to login I still can’t login with Facebook. I’ve recently tried finding ways of contacting Meta/Facebook about this issue and am coming up with nothing. I've never had a login problem before till now and I’m not happy with the app or with contacting the company about the issues going on with the app and Facebook login.

Major frustration. I don’t usually make reviews but for this app I have to because this is honestly pitiful. I’ve used oculus in the past and with their new “meta” label I have to make a meta account, totally fine! Until it’s not. when I wanted to log in I used the wrong FB account, realizing my mistake I went to try and fix it by trying to log into Facebook again, instead of letting me try and put my information in again, it wants to use the existing account and there is no way to change it… I’ve only been using this new meta version for 5 minutes and it hasn’t improved in the slightest. Guys don’t waste your time on this garbage, I’d rather buy a high end pc and buy an entire valve index rather than this garbage of an app and headset. Trust me, don’t waste your time

Went from good device to trash with this app. I used to love my oculus and was the reason why I bought the quest 2, at first it was great, but then came the updates forcing you to use this app or web site for setting up or logging into account, it was okay at first, but now it’s horrible when you try to log in or do anything on the quest 2 I haven’t been able to log into my account on my quest 2 for a couple of months now and the only solution they gave me was to factory reset. Now that I have factory reset my quest 2, trying to set up the wuest the web site keeps telling to use the app and then app tells me that it’s paired with the quest and the quest keeps telling me it needs to pair to get to the next step of the set up and won’t go any farther, and meta’s solution is to factory reset to fix it

Errors received throughout the registration and login process. My 13 year old son bought this on his birthday with his own money and we’re now on day 4 that we’re unable to login to the app so we have no way to use the VR device. We keep receiving an error saying “something went wrong please try again.” We’ve tried all the troubleshooting advice. Customer service finally got back to us through email and gave us the same basic advice we’ve already tried. We’ve spent way too many hours trying to fix this and we’re getting nowhere. I sent all the steps we took and screenshots. I probably won’t hear back again for awhile and there’s no way I’ve found to call customer service. What a huge disappointment!!!

need help. it WAS good, but now…. soooo i got my headset back in december 2021 had fun it was good it connected to the app fine everything was good. then something happened. i tried to cast it one day to my phone and it wouldn’t work. i tried so many times and it wasn’t broadcasting, so i disconnected my oculus from the app. big mistake apparently, because the headset won’t RECONNECT to the app. i’ve tried so many times, but the same thing keeps popping up. it says something like “if you wanna access your meta acount and avoid a factory reset, update your device. make sure it’s plugged in to a power source and connected to wifi”. the amount of times i’ve gotten this AFTER I UPDATED MY DEVICE AND PLUGGED IT IN AND CONNECTED IT… someone help me work this out please this app isn’t working anymore i don’t know what to do

Can be good, but there’s a BIG issue. So I love vr, it helps me exercise and be a little more social even if its all online. So of course I would be upset to see the account I used was logged out randomly and it didn’t let me log back in! Customer support was surprisingly no help at all to me in this situation. Ive spent so much money ok games and I've had to factory reset my oculus to switch admin but it still wont let me log back into the account with all the games like support told me it would. It wont even pair to the headset for the dumbest reasons that I have dealt with. Overall can be good but oculus needs to fix their random logging out now or my guess is they will lose more customers than they already are

Lovely, but landscape mode? Please?. As a new VR adopter, but not new to tech, I really enjoy the app experience in how it lets me manage almost everything about my Quest 2 from my phone or iPad. *especially* my iPad. The bigger screen makes it easy to navigate in a pinch even with the headset on in pass through mode. That said, I really wish the app supported landscape mode on iPad! That’s literally my only gripe right now. As part of a desktop setup, my iPad is always in landscape and usually controlled with a mouse and keyboard, so its really annoying (in the scheme of things) to either tilt my head or pick up the device from its dock/place in order to manage the Oculus App. Thanks babes, I hope you can add this!

Please add this I believe a lot of users could benefit from this.. Recently i had a glitch. I had synced photos from a game. Obviously there was a delay before the photos synced on my phone. During this time i had deleted two photos. After that when the photos synced, the two deleted photos had synced. I then tried to remove these images but had no luck. Thats why i am here today. I want meta to please add an un-sync button implemented into the application. I believe that this addition could and probably help multiple users. Anyways have a good day. Set up utility for Oculus Go worked Ok. Worked fine and used it to get oculus go set up. This app has the store and setup screens for the stand alone headset, and recently added WiFi streaming, which was really helpful when showing relatives what VR is like because I could put their view on the phone and help talk them through how to play better and they could give each other advice. They really enjoyed the Keep Talking and Virtual Virtual Reality ones. The app can also be used to pair other Bluetooth devices to the headset besides the little controller, and some games can also work with a game controller. I really enjoyed Defense Grid 2, it was a nice tower defense style science fiction adventure.

Don’t purchase oculus ever. This is completely and absolutely stupid. I’ve been playing virtual reality for six years now. I will never buy another oculus product for the rest of my life. I’m going to spend 2000 and $3000 for a Apple VR headset. I’m sick and tired of this Meadowcraft. I have to sign up with a new email and verify it get bent. I’m absolutely sick and tired of this. Where are the 21st-century? You can’t make this easier. What a bunch of crap Zuckerberg you’re such a tool. You were never going to make the oasis. You’re a joke. Let’s make it a lot harder for people to use. That makes a lot of sense. Hope your company goes bankrupt and you are homeless. I absolutely hate your product. Can’t log in. Spent thousands on gears and games and a middle finger from meta/fb. Ok. I loved loved my Meta Quest to BUT it was only given to me at full cost without a lifetime of use. They updated to meta and somehow screwed up this operation and instead of just giving me what I’ve bought, paid for, became addicted to and am now unable to get for a couple months they have told me to scree off (although saying it very nicely). Make someone addicted to something (mainly poker tbh) I spent 100s and 100s on chips, made friends and the whole deal and I’ve been locked out of my account for a couple months with “we are working on it, it’s a known issue”. We’ll if it’s a known issue, just make a new account for me and give me my games and stuff I’ve won in poker and what not. Instead I’m just waiting around with a new person every week saying “like my last rep said, we are working on it”. Middle finger to your working on it. I bought it, it’s mine, by law, give it back to me or set up a new account. If this problem is fixed no later than this week, than this 1 star and this review stays here forever. Unable to sort app reviews or access version notes. I love using this app as it makes it much easier to manage apps on the Oculus Quest, but with the recent update I no longer have the ability to sort app reviews or access the version + release notes. I like to sort the reviews by most recent for when apps are upgraded so I can get a better idea of how the app is now instead of seeing older reviews. Also, I can’t access the version + release notes for applications anymore either. I use to be able to click on the version + release notes under the app details and see what has been updated on an app. I am still able to do this if I access the Oculus store from a PC so I am using that as a workaround, but it would be great if you all could restore these functions back to the iOS app.

Casting. Arguably one of the few real uses for this app is casting to your phone or other devices and I think a lot of us can agree with that, which isn’t a problem. The problem comes when no matter how stable and good my connection is the casting is super laggy and glitchy it’s getting to be a bit too much I want to record things I do to show to my grandma and some friends but it’s extremely unreliable and I can’t even slightly make out what’s going on in the videos anymore, when I first got it the videos weren’t that bad, a little glitchy albeit, but other than that nothing too serious, audio worked, video was mostly fine despite a little bit of choppiness here and there, but now you seriously couldn’t make out a single thing I’m doing on screen. You guys are going to have to improve the casting If you want better ratings.

Visa gift card won’t work. So it’s Christmas time and I got all excited because I just got some visa gift cards, planning to buy some new games on oculus. So I go to settings on the app and try and add a new debit card, type in all the info, and it says card info incorrect. So I’ve been looking back over and over thinking I’m crazy. However I attempt to purchase something on my Xbox to prove I’m not crazy, and the card works perfectly. So obviously the oculus app has some weird things with it where cards have issues sometimes. It is very unfortunate to see this too as the sale for this game is ending soon. So all I can say is oculus please improve your apps in some aspects, other than that pretty good app.

$400 Headset is a useless paperweight. The meta quest 2 headset requires you to connect to your phone via Bluetooth in order to use the device. After only owning the quest 2 for a couple of months it randomly started refusing to connect to the app. If like myself you try EVERY SINGLE troubleshooting option only to be left with restoring your quest to factory settings, then you could risk the quest 2 getting stuck at a pairing screen and unusable. I’ve tried reinstalling the app, installing the app on a new phone, using a different Wi-Fi connection, restoring my phone to factory settings, restoring the quest 2 to factory settings. Every single option has left me at square one after only owning the device for a couple months it is now a useless paperweight accompanied by an even more useless app. Don’t waste your time and money.

The app is terrible. The app won’t even connect to Oculus quest 2 after at least six months. I have tried updating my IPhone XS. That still did not work. I am on the same Wi-Fi network. I connected my Iphone and oculus quest 2 to each other on Bluetooth. It still did not work. It just won’t connect. The app is terrible. I have tried so many times. It just won’t connect. I have tried re-downloading the app. I have signed out and back into my account. It just won’t connect. The app is terrible. The updates on the app say that it fixed bugs and performance issues. But after those updates my oculus quest 2 will still not connect to the app. So I mean you can download the app. But if it connects to your phone. You’re lucky. Because you get to use so many more features. While I don’t. The app is terrible.

Centralize subscriptions and in-app purchases. It’s an ok app. But have some issues: I just wish it were more comprehensive- meaning: Users should be able or allowed to do everything in the app (eg: ability to sign up for and track subscriptions, select & pay for in-app purchases..etc) it’s annoying having to do it via the device. Games are already expensive but some also require monthly subscriptions, additional in-app purchases (initial base content should come with much much more offerings before requiring user to have to buy more) ex. Dance Central comes with like 10 songs before you have to buy more? I’m left feeling “nickeled and dimed” at the end of a purchase. If I have to pay $30 for a game all that comes after should be free add-on’s

Support is awful. I agree with a lot of the other reviews about the Oculus Support. It’s soooo bad. We had a controller that when crazy and wouldn’t work. Haven’t even had it 6months and after all of their trouble shooting for almost an hour they said they were going to “look into it” and get back to me. No one ever did. I chat with them AGAIN just for the same result. They send me an email a WEEK later asking for a video of the issue. Seriously? It was more frustration then it was worth and I went and bought another one instead of dealing with them. Besides it would have taken a year to get a replacement the way they move. You would think being “Facebook” they would do better then what they are. It’s stopped me from buying another one that’s for sure.

Facebook account wrongfully disabled. On day 6 of waiting.. On January 4th my Facebook account was hacked and very shortly after disabled. I have sent off appeals via Facebook and Instagram and have also been in touch with Oculus support since I have a headset that I currently cannot use because of this situation, but have heard nothing from Facebook or Instagram and Oculus support have been unable to help. I do business through my Facebook and Instagram and have even paid for ads numerous times so, this limbo of waiting for my case to be reviewed and be able to do business again has been pretty ridiculous. I would also like to be able to retrieve from my personal page photos of passed family members and pets. Hope this issue can be resolved soon. On day 6 of waiting.

Mortal Kombat please!!!. Okay let’s set this strait you’re a great app with great features and other things. But I have only three problems1 I wish that you would make it to where you can travel around your surroundings in the oculus home. 2 please please please make a mortal kombat vr game because that would be so cool having to ability to do a get over here in vr. 3 please make a dragonball vr game cuz you’ve already made some other anime games and it would be crazy to turn into a super saiyan in virtual reality. Those are all my requests so when you have time please take them into consideration. Screw my life. So one thing I was playing on it making a video and my mom said it was really dark she turn on the the light so one thing I was playing onword and when she turned on the light sens you become short you have to kind of go to your way around the system(I swear if AutoCorrect is going to keep doing this I’m gonna have a tantrum) and then it tried resetting my entire boundary and I am literally right after playing I am writing this now oculus please read it was such a long video and you wasted my time I could’ve been playing that game without recording and not had a problem but no you decided that if even the light changes that will happen why would you do that I am crying because of you all I need now is for you guys to put Minecraft on please put Minecraft on we can forget about all this

Fun when you first get it but has many issues. When I first got this it wasn’t that great. It took about two hours to set up and there are only about one or two halfway-decent starting games. Headset has issues and never adjusts correctly. Always falls off your head and is blurry no matter what adjustments you make. The game that comes with it (not pre-downloaded fyi) is fun for a couple of minutes before you get tired of it because the tutorial was the best part of the game. The app isn’t any better. It chews away your phone battery like crazy and is very laggy. Would not recommend unless you are ok with spending $600+ on getting a halfway-functioning console and a casewith a couple of games you can find anywhere else. Not to mention you now are required to have a Facebook account just to use a $400 console you already paid for, so say goodbye to any online privacy you had left.

Casting. I like how the developer only seems to answer reviews that are NOT about casting. MAJOR casting issues!!! Apparently works for some, but doesn’t seem to work for most. I’ve had my quest for a year and opened numerous tickets, yet nothing has improved. I tried to use both Chrome Ultra and NVIDIA Shield and neither worked. That’s over $260 spent buying into their casting ability claims. App just doesn’t see them. Quest doesn’t see them. Only option is to cast to mobile app. Definitely an Oculus problem. At least I am able to see through these reviews that there is a TON of people here with the same problem. Just wish Oculus would come out and admit the problem and honestly work to fix it.

Updated review - February 2021. Since my first review, the problems with accessing the buttons at the top of the screen have been resolved with the latest app update. All of that works properly now! New problem though: I cannot adjust the volume on my phone when casting to my phone. Turning the volume down using the buttons and via the control center does nothing. The volume bar moves down in both instances, but the actual sound level doesn’t change. Turning the volume down on the headset itself does nothing either (besides turn the headset volume down, like it’s supposed to. I just tried it to test if it had any effect). The volume is essentially stuck blasting around 80% and it’s way too loud. iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 14.4 Previous review: I can’t tap the X button to close app descriptions, can barely tap in the search box to type. I have have tapped and tapped and have to force quit the app just to go back sometimes. This REALLY needs to be updated to work properly with the 12 pro max. I’m not sure about how it fits and works with other sized phones. I’ve had no problem connecting to the Oculus itself or casting or anything like that though. Just 🌟PLEASE🌟 fix the UI for the bigger phones. Please!

Facebook is trash.. The Oculus ecosystem has really gone down hill since Facebook purchased them. They forced everyone to link a facebook account and if you opted to delink it later so that you can keep facebook and your gaming separate, they treat you like a second class customer. Other users get random discount codes throughout the year, but if your in this situation you don’t. If you ask about it, you are told their system decides the allocation and there isn’t anything they can do. Also the app will not show you any of the sales they have. They just don’t appear anywhere in the app. If you know a game is on sale you can search for it and it will show the discount, but it seems really sketchy that the app is trying to obscure these deals.

Still no casting (Major Fail). I love the idea of the go and I enjoyed the initial implementation of the headset. That being said the only issue that I have a problem with now that’s ruining the experience is that there is still no casting or a release date. If you aren’t ready to activate casting then why put it into the app update notes? Also, why is it that despite being a major feature request, there’s zero information about its progress or an estimated release date other than “soon”. If you really want your initial go adopters to push for your product then why take away the one thing that could help them promote the headset to others? In summary, it’s a fun headset for a while but without the added social feature you might use the headset once every couple of weeks just to see if there’s anything new (which there won’t be).

Read before you buy. All right let’s get this straight my oculus worked fine for the first few months but. First problem my profile kept shutting off, I found a way to fix this, you just go in to oculus app and go into profile and press edit profile in VR this should reboot your profile. Second problem my profile stoped working and everything except contractors and Pavlov took years to load and then crashed I tried the oculus app trick and it didn’t work, I also tried factory resetting my system It didn’t work. My oculus is still not working oculus you need to fix this problem, I am getting tired of spending my money on stuff that doesn’t work.

The game: AWESOME: The app’s recording casting:. I love this game and everything, but one thing is that the apps recording casting is bad :(. I record meanwhile playing and I stop playing to stop recording... the recording is already stopped. I check my photo library... nothing. I play for about 45 min and I record and use the whole time while playing. But it all goes to frickin waste because it doesn’t save the recording. It’s sooo annoying. Because then I wasted my whole time playing. Please fix that bug so that it wouldn’t stop recording and not save it. I hate when that happens and it’s really annoying. Otherwise, the Oculus Quest 2, AMAZING I love everything and I’m always excited to play it.

Amazing for Families!. My family got the headset for Christmas and it’s been such a blast to play with! My house has been filled with smiles and joy ever since we bought the headset, and it is very easy to use even for younger children! The graphics are amazing and you truly feel like you are part of the game!! The app is also cool because you are able to video yourself and see what you look like playing games with the headset on… on behalf of my entire extended family and I, this headset is highly recommended!

Don’t Bother With It. This review is strictly about the chat section. The chat in the app only works when it WANTS to, not when you need it to. I have a few chats that I can’t open right now because it just shuts down every time I try to. Sometimes it will let me in to view it, and then I’ll reply and then I won’t be able to get into the chats again for a day. It’s so annoying. I plan meet up with friends via the chat/app and can’t rely on it for that. Or if someone you’re playing with sends a message during a game, you can’t open it until like two hours later. It’s ridiculous and glitchy. I hope they update it SOON. Because if I can’t use the chat feature to chat with other players….what’s REALLY the point?

Glitchy for the money you pay. I was excited to get my Oculus Quest last December. For the money we paid for the headset, its glitchy. 1. Advertised as “All in One”. This is mostly true, but what they don’t tell you is, if you want all the cool games that came with previous VR, you will have to use Sidequest. If you don’t have a super powerful gaming computer, sorry for your luck, you are limited to what is available on the app. Not a horrible selection, but if you are looking to play Half Life Alex, you need Sidequest. Not everyone has a gaming computer and can use Sidequest. I am sure there is a way it can be done with the right programming on the part if Oculus . If not, then Oculus needs to get ta uploading. 2. Streaming/Casting to Google Chromecast has never worked for me. No matter what try. I am on a lot of forums and most people have this issue. Fix it. This stuff is expensive. 3. Casting to iphone has a huge lag 4. Is there nothing that can be done about the hideous Avatars? They all look like men. Hideous men at that. No, I am not against Gender ID, but I am a girl, and I want my Avatar to look like a girl. Please fix this. 5. What ever happened to Horizons? 6. plus one star for adding new games regularly and another for allowing outside developers.

Idea? Amazing. Execution? Pitifully.. The oculus app is an amazing idea and has so many great features, when it works, that is. Namely the social part of the app is more than broken. If I had a running tally for the amount of times the app crashes when I go into the social tab, it would be on the hundreds. As someone who plays competitive esports on the Quest 2 and puts in hundreds of hours of play time each month I can say that the social part of the app is the worst of any gaming platform I have ever seen. The ideas and the UI are fine, but when I need to add a friend before a big game and the app does not let me, I can’t help but feel let down. The in-game VR experience is amazing and I would suggest it to anyone, but a little more focus on the current players and their social experience would be greatly appreciated. One star.

Annoying. It works well in my opinion but it will give you like 10 notifications every day, almost all of them being advertisements. For example, a notification says, “try among us VR! Because you tried Gorilla tag.” It’s a big issue in my opinion. It’s as if the VR stuff is dying and their only chance of getting VR more popular is to advertise. There are notifications based on new updates of games you own, but a majority of them are just advertisements, they are all no bueno. Overall it’s pretty descent, it works fine but it could be better, there’s room for improvement.

Almost Perfect!. I love the easy access to the oculus store. I really appreciate that I do not have to put my headset on every time I want to buy a game my friend tells me about. I love that I can start a game in the headset before I’m ready to play it to warm the headset up and reduce loading times. One thing is missing though: Often, I will find an amazing game in the Oculus AppStore, and I will want to share it with a friend. Unfortunately, either there is not a “share app” button, or it is just really hard to find. Please add a “Share App” button in the Oculus Store! I would love to be able to send my friends a direct link to the cool new game I want them to try!

Horrible Layout. Coming from a person who had an oculus before Facebook bought them out, the quality has severely gone down. I’ve lost my account many times and had to go through excruciating customer service due to the fact that I didn’t have a Facebook account. For such a huge and rich company, I expected so much more. The frustration that went into setting up a new one, and connecting it to my original account was honestly not worth it, and this app just led to more confusion. A minor note- changing names in this app doesn’t seem to work- I change it, and it confirms that it saved, but yet it never changes even if i reboot, log out and back in, anything. At the end of it all, I’m disappointed in the management of these companies.

Login in issues. I’m having almost the same problem as another person here I only had my account for a year but I came back to the app one day to go and see what new games their were and I see that it didn’t log me in so I put my account info in it says it was linked with my Facebook (my Facebook had not one thing on it) and I go to sign in with it and it works but didn’t I was able to sign in but meta band my account for not following community guidelines (which as I said my profile had nothing on it never posted never added a bio nothing) which seemed weird to me and I got to appeal it a day later it gets denied so now I’m extremely annoyed about this cuz this means I can’t unlink my Facebook to my oculus account and now afraid I lost my $200 thing of games just because I got falsely banned for real reason what so ever

It does the bare minimum. Ive been using this app for about a year. I don’t ever have a use for the app, except to check for updates and see what’s going on, but pretty much every feature this app has stops working over time. I used to cast to my phone so friends can watch, but one day it stopped working and I couldn’t figure out how to fix it. Somewhere down the line the connection between the app and the headset completely gave up and I couldn’t get it paired. The app does everything I need it too, but I’m sure that there’s other people that run into this issue. Also I never got any of my Referral store credit, even though it says everyone I referred bought an oculus.

Ok.... This thing is amazing! I have been playing on my oculus for hours and I haven’t gotten sick of it at all! The games that you can download seem to be limitless! There are two main problems for me though. First one being that my pin I need to buy games, I never got what it was. I never got headset pin to buy games so rec room is the only game I can really get that can satisfy me. And second, the app is not letting me switch to a different Facebook account and it won’t let me use a different one. I was hoping the creators of oculus could make an option to change what Facebook account that is used and not have a single account since I have a second account that actually works.

Missing games and other issues. While the app is great, there’s games missing. Example- Resident Evil 4, which is purchasable on the headset, isn’t anywhere in the store. Even after I purchased it, it doesn’t show up in my library on the app. There’s other games that don’t show on the app, this was just the most recent. The lack of a share button is a pain, often my husband or I would like to share a game we really considering buying. Last issue- Oculus replaced one of our headsets as it stopped charging within a few months of purchase. We couldn’t log out of it because it was dead. Even after we returned it, there’s no way to get that headset off our device list! There should be an “unpair” or “remove device” button or option. Every other app with linkable hardware has the option to unlink it. If they refurb it does that mean someone else will have my account? Most likely not but still, doesn’t give me a good feeling. I do love that I can cast and watch what the player is doing, we have a lot of fun with that, and it makes the experience less isolating to others not playing.

Spent $400 for nothing I guess.... The app won’t open at all from first try—we literally cannot set up and use the quest. Nothing. Yes- We deleted the app and redownloaded it at least 20 times, and yes, restarted the phone many times as well. The app simply will not open, it shuts down the second the grey screen with the logo comes up. I understand this is an older phone (iPhone 6) it’s on, but why force a user to set up a device via app that simply doesn’t work. Why tell users that if their phone is a certain iOS the app should download and run when it does not? It’s working perfectly fine on an acquaintance’s phone though. Sigh, I’m hoping this is just a bug that will get fixed in a couple of days or less. But I am getting a little nervous and skeptical after trying to open this app for a day. Hope we did not just waste a ton of money.

Broken Account Merge. While the app generally works alright for setting up a Quest, the account merge is fundamentally broken. I cannot use my 2017 Oculus account because I tied it to my Facebook account which no longer recognises my 2FA keys, despite me still having the 2FA app/codes (I use Authy). I cannot get access with Meta/Facebook’s “send ID verification” either because it forces the use of a webcam to send them a picture of your ID, and as you can imagine, that is blurry and never passes their recognition software. So thanks to this, I’ve lost all my oculus purchases because I can’t access my original account which is five years old with plenty of games. Absolutely horrible quality control for trying to regain access to your accounts, and there is no way to contact support at all from what I’ve researched. Great going. :(

logging in. this app would be great a 4 or even 5 star app if it wasn’t for the fact that you have to do so much work to log in for the first time and there’s not really any help on the internet to tell you what to do. I recently tried to make my oculus account into developer mode so i can do some stuff and it logged me out of the app no biggie I thought but when I tried to log back in through face book I couldn’t even open a link because something was wrong all i could see was a loading screen and when I tried to log in through oculus it said my information was wrong even though I logged in on my pc just fine with the same info it wouldn’t be a big deal if it wasn’t for the fact I needed the app to turn on developer mode either

It won’t let me log in. I just got my 3rd oculus and before it was a bit difficult to set it up but this time when I downloaded the app, I tried logging in using every option and none of them are working, usually saying “there’s an error” or “something went wrong we are working on it now” but I keep trying again and again and it says the same thing and when I try to log in normally using my email and password it does not work, it says one of them is incorrect. I know my email and password by heart I even put them in notes, although I changed my password because i was desperate and now using my new password it still says it’s incorrect. Please reply and tell me what I’m doing wrong because when I got it working before I loved playing in vr. Please help

Black/Grey Screen renders app usless. There is a widespread issue with this app on most iPhones. I’m on an iPhone 11 with the latest iOS update. The Oculus App is updated as well. I was able to launch the app the FIRST time I downloaded it but since then, upon launching the app the landing screen shows for about a half second before a black screen swipes up and renders the app completely useless. Closing the app and reopening it yields the same results. There is some random work around that involves turning on airplane mode, closing the app, turning off airplane mode, then relaunching the app to get it to even work which is utterly ridiculous for a billion dollar companies cornerstone app. I cannot believe developers allow this to happen at such a widespread basis. And I STILL cannot cast to my phone. A complete disappointment for my family this Christmas.

Inevitable problem (for me ). So I go to my friends house and factory reset it because I bought it off a friend and was wiping it to obtain ownership and I go to do it and everything goes smooth up until it asks me to get the app so I do and it absolutely does not let me use my account rather instead it’s telling me to use my friends at the time I’m staying the night and I’m thinking “hm what does this has to do with him” and no he doesn’t have fb on my phone so I try it and try it but it’s not letting me put my info in and refusing to let me progress even as I weight this and I tried resetting it again and redownloading the app but nothing worked and im really upset because it’s been 2 hrs and I still have yet to figure it out pls hel.

Underwhelmed. Alright so I’ll lay this out for everyone, unlike the meta goobers that are blinded by their dictator. Honestly this review will probably be deleted and buried. I bought the oculus because of FOMO. Friends were getting it and oh btw one of my friends works at meta and got me a laughable $30 discount. I’m a gamer and didn’t want to be left in the dust. I’m still exploring the games but I’ve already asked for a refund on some and really only enjoy two games atm, golf+ and beat saber. If I could go back knowing what I know now, I would NOT buy an oculus. Technology isn’t there yet and it’s for show and status. Graphics are pixelated and far from “high definition”. Refund process on games seemed easy but I’m still waiting for the final result of getting my money back. Cool in theory, waste of money in reality.

Please.. This is a very good app to use my VR headset but I want to play roblox in vr I need to do so many things just to play it. Two things I need in this app are, 1. Please add login via oculus in the login screen so you can just login with a link cable because I forgot my Facebook password. I mean I will still be logged in with Facebook. 2. Add roblox player to the app for everyone to download so we don’t need so much gear. And when you download it, just login to your roblox account or make a new one then search for a VR game in roblox and bam your in roblox VR. Please read this and do both of these things to make everyone who has a VR headset and want to play roblox be or login via oculus go through less stress please. I’ll give 5 star if you add these things to the app.
