ABOUT CARDIIO
Blood absorbs light. Every time your heart beats, the blood flow to your finger increases, causing more light to be absorbed. In between beats, less light is absorbed. By using your smartphone camera to capture tiny changes in reflected light from your finger, Cardiio can calculate your heart rate.

**IMPORTANT TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS
• ALWAYS hold your phone steady, keep still, and don’t talk during a measurement.
• Make sure your fingers are not cold.
• Cover the entire back camera lightly with your finger; Don't press too hard to avoid restricting blood flow to your finger.

Cardiio is fast, easy, and reliable. I have been using Cardiio almost daily since the afternoon a few years ago when my son put it on my iPhone because I was worried about what was going on with my heart. It says it’s not to be used for medical purposes, but, when my doctor and I checked it’s accuracy with his own device, we got the same result on both. In his words, “It’s surprisingly accurate.” I highly recommend the Cardiio app.

Rethink ‘poor signal’ alert. This app is very useful while taking a jog, for giving me an indication for when I need to take a break and when to restart. However, half of the readings end with the poor signal quality pop-up, which prevents saving of the result. By then my heart rate is too low to take another reading and save it.

Can’t use this app anymore. Don’t pay $10.. I initially loved this app, but a few versions ago I’ve come to hate it. I’m using on an iPhone 8 with latest IOS. Also was used in my 6. The app doesn’t work right when there’s even the slightest bit of movement— like right after you finish a hard run. That’s when you want to capture your max heart rate. App keeps saying “poor signal quality”. I’ve tried pressing both hard and soft on the camera. By time the app can record my rate, it’s way down from my max. The app also doesn’t work in the cold. So winter exercise is out. I would never pay $10 for an app that doesn’t work.

Very helpful and accurate.. I've been using this app a lot lately. I just had heart surgery, and compared it to the hospital ICU instruments and it was dead on. Now I pay more attention to my heart rate, especially if I feel funny at all. Totally recommend this. I use this A number of times during the week. A few times I had some funny feelings in my heart and it kind of confirmed it and so therefore I was more conscious of what was going on

A reasonable app. Generally good. The sensor part of the app does a reasonable job, when the circulation to my finger is good. Sometimes after a strenuous workout, or even during one measurements can get squirrelly. My BP tends towards low and so sometimes given the right circumstances it looks like I'm flat lining it. The basic app is festooned with adds/add-ons of dubious benefit. Not quite as bad as some of the other count your heartbeat apps, but they're there. Update 8/17 They've upgraded the measurement function so it reliably works on my iPhone 7. It's much better than doing a remote facial pulse determination. The add ons are still a bit gooey. I'm certain waveform will prove useful, but getting useful medical data from sporadic measurements is a bit weird.

Nice app, but not super accurate!. I like this app quite a lot more than other heart rate apps out there. It allows you to take as many measurements as you wish, and the premium bonus content isn’t pressured on you (and actually looks appealing!) However, it only gives a rough estimate of heart rate in my experience. I immediately took measurements promptly after having my rate taken by a doctor twice, and it was about 20 beats lower than the actual rate each time.

Excellent way to monitor health. I use this once per day to check my rested heart rate. I checked it against the one I wear when working out and they both are right on the mark. I like the reminder to check my HR each day or I'd probably forget. The comparison of my results to people in history and other countries is interesting. I recommend this app to anybody that has decided to take a more active approach to monitoring their health. I should also mention that I have checked two other heart rate monitors that use the same technology. Cardio is the only one that is even close to being accurate.

Used to be great...needs to be updated. Used to be a 5-star app, and it would still be if the developer would update it to work with the triple-lens phones. The lens that the app uses needs to be adjacent to the light, otherwise there isn’t enough light transmission to get a reading. On the triple-lens phones, the app tries to use the lens that is diagonally across from the light. There simply isn’t enough light transmission across that long of a distance to the app to be able to give a reliable reading.

Great heart beat monitoring app. I have downloaded several similar apps and tried to use them. I think Cardio is by far the best. It is free with much lower frequency of ad if any. I compare the measurement results with Omron and both give about the same. I never usually give reviews, but I had to for this one. Great job!

Help my heart out. This little app. Helps me keep track of my pacemaker. Yes it's not a medical device, but if there is a problem with the heart rate I get a hold of my doctor. So yes this app is great and gets5 stars. And the exercises are not that hard to do. I have told other people about the app who have pacemakers and or others with heart problems. We use it as a tool. Now if it gust could do bp.

A go-to app. I’ve been using Cardiio app for maybe two years. It was my first heart-rate app, and glad I downloaded it. I’m very healthy, and am a recreational athlete. The app has gone through ups and downs during that time, but I’ve experienced pretty steady improvement in its function. I love that they don’t try to sell you a whole bunch of other “stuff.” Extremely good and infinitely helpful app. #HeartHealth #fitness

Handy, quick, easy, accurate. Cardio is handy, available whenever you’re carrying your phone, which for many of us, is pretty much always. Readings are quick, about 15 seconds, just hit start and put finger gently over camera lens (or use face function). Accuracy is impressive. I was recently in the hospital for heart surgery and have had several follow-ups with surgeon and cardiologist. Readings from Cardio consistently track hospital and doctor readings pretty much perfectly, even when heart is somewhat irregular. Cardio has a legal disclaimer on the accuracy of the waveform, but I’ve found that to be as accurate as the pulse readings. Cardio provides helpful views for history and "insights” as well as suggested 7-min cardio workouts. Cardio will hold 30 days of data on your phone. To keep longer histories, data can be exported as a csv file and saved.

Great tool. This is a great app to help me track the heart rate whenever I want to. Easy to use. It takes a little practice to learn how to have it get an accurate reading. Take the time to experiment with it and you will find it a useful tool. I have been a regular user for a few years and really appreciate it as part of my healthy living.

Simple, useful. I have Diabetes II and I use this as a type of monitor. If I see my pulse is up, I check my pill dispenser and there’s a 1 to 1 correlation with having forgotten to take my meds. I exercise, so if my pulse gets above 60, I start paying a little more attention to what’s happening in my environment. It’s fun to check in on your heart once a day. Wish it could do blood pressure checks.

Easy to use but temperamental. On my 13 pro max use your right pointer finger diagonally from the finger tip over the flash and the rest of the finger over lip of right most camera. A bit temperamental but the notifications work just fine. No free trial however there is a free version you can upgrade to the full version however I have found that the free version has all the requirements I.e., Notes on each reading, saved history, and notifications/Reminders.

Accurate!. This app is completely free and accurate. I tested it when I was at the doctor. I checked my heart to see how much beats pm and is was at 102 and the checked my heart it was the same at the doctor! The app installation is free and no need to pay for months or years to use the app! Install this app on your phone now it’s amazing!

Paid 7.99 for the waveform measurement. I paid for the waveform measurement thinking it would give a little more detail about what is seen in the heart rate, like maybe a missing p wave, or too long a length between certain parts of the waveform...you know, length of time to the T wave or whatever. I didn’t expect the only information shown after 7.99 (a lot by app standards) to only say: -.2 sec. <—-that’s it. That’s what you get for 7.99. Okay? How is that even remotely worth any money at all and how does that help me? I downloaded the app and would pay 50 bucks if it helped me figure out why I get breathless for no reason after never smoking and while just sitting. People downloading heart rate apps have heart rate questions. I don’t expect it to be a doctor in an app. But I do expect 7.99 to measure something resembling anything. I feel betrayed. I feel stupid for parting with that much money. I made an assumption that 7.99 meant the waveform was analyzed. It’s not.

Cardio App. I downloaded this app and started using it in unison with a pedometer app geared toward weight loss and overall health improvement. This Cardio app helped me keep sight of my heart health while increasing my activities. I've gone from fair to good to excellent over the coarse of three months. This Cardio app has also proven to be a great motivator for me, by allowing me to see real improvements in real time for all my efforts.

Heart rate monitor: worthless. 7 minute workout: 5 stars. The heart rate monitor works maybe 10% of the time. I use this app for the 7 minute workout which is short but really intense if you modify some of the exercises. For example instead of jumping jacks, do star jumps. Instead of step ups, do box jumps. Instead of tricep dips on a chair, do real dips between 2 chairs. Instead of lunges, do jumping lunges. I usually do two, seven minute workouts in about 20 minutes. It’s a great high intensity workout.

Doesn’t work with iPhone 11 Pro Max. Beware - this app simply doesn’t work with the flagship Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max. The problem seems to be the three cameras built into the iPhone 11 Pro Max. I contacted the help desk who in turn simply replied that I should read the directions. Either the help desk people don’t realize their own app directions are no longer up to date for current versions of iPhone, or I hope I’m wrong but perhaps they simply don’t care about customers of this app any longer. The app directions only refer to iPhones with a single camera. If it was just experimenting with placing my finger over one of the three cameras of the iPhone 11 Pro Max, or some combination of cameras, I wouldn’t have had to see if the help desk could actually “help” a customer. If you’re using most any version of iPhone less than the iPhone 11 Pro Max, this app is fantastic and works well. I hope the developer decides to update this app for Apple’s flagship iPhone. I also hope the help desk procedures get updated to provide actual help to customers.

Was great until latest upgrade. The waveform feature is the best I’ve found on the market so far. The ability to add notes and connect with Apple Health help to keep a journal of overall health status and potential issues. HOWEVER, the latest update caused a glitch that makes the notes entry essentially invisible font. Without being able to notate what was happening at the time the waveform was captured, the data becomes exponentially less useful. I’ve contacted support at least half a fixed times with no response and no resolution. This glitch seriously devalues the product. Anyone considering another, might want to shop around first.

Worked perfect forever...until now.... Always worked perfectly but I just got the new iPhone 11 Pro which has three cameras. The camera that the app uses is the bottom right camera but the flash it at the top left. Considering how the technology works this means that you cannot get a reading anymore as the light does not enter your finger. The camera that is used needs to be swapped within the software of the app, else it’s not possible anymore to get a reading - it just gives a poor signal quality error message each time. :( Please fix! Thanks

Extremely Accurate!. I tried several deferent apps , some ridiculously expensive, asking for yearly subscription (Don’t know what for). None of were as accurate as this Cardiio app. and I am using the FREE VERSION. For ONLY A ONE TIME FEE OF $9.99 you can add 6 or 7 more useful features, but if you decide to have the free version, that would be good enough, There would be No pop ups of advertisement or anything like that. I really like the fact that makers of this app are very honest people. Thank you. P.S I READ AMOUNG SOME REVIEWS THAT THE PULSE READER ONLY WORKS LIKE 5 PERCENT OF THE TIMES. TO ME, THAT IS A GOOD THING, BECAUSE IT WANTS TO MAKE SURE THAT THE READING OF PULSE IS ACCURATE . SPECIFICALLY IF YOUR FINGERS ARE COLD OR DIRTY OR THE CAMERA LENS IS DIRTY. BUT ON MY CASE IT WAS THE COLD FINGERS. JUST PLACE THE FINGER UNDER YOUR ARM FOR FEW SECOND TO GET WARM AND TRY AGAIN . FOR ME, IT WORKED EVERY TIME.

Not accurate as before. Inaccurate lately. Highs and lows showed and now they don’t. I reported the issue months ago and have screenshots to prove it. I haven’t used in since until today. Only 1 of the 6 tests (I took face and finger) accurately showed actual real high and real low I saw on the screen. And recorded it. I add notes to the real high and low in the notes section and told them about it months ago. They haven’t fixed it. It worked great before that. Fix it and make it work properly again and the rating will increase. For now it hasn’t and I’ve reported this issue before.

A must have for hypochondriacs and those with heart conditions alike. Of which I am both. All jokes aside however, though it doesn't rule anything out it is infinitely more cheap than running out and buying a pulse oximeter. Before I got my 3 lead heart monitor I used this all the time to record how fast my heart was going during episodes of tachycardia. Even if you're just using this when you're exercising, it's good to keep an eye on that stuff.

Does not work with multi-lens iPhones.. It is very disappointing that you did not update the software to use the lens closest to the flashlight for multi-lens iPhones. It used to work great with my single-lens iPhone (we even purchased the in-app upgrade), but now, with my multi-lens iPhone 11 Pro, the app is useless crap! The light and the lens are too far away from each other to get an accurate measurement! The iPhone 11 Pro was released 1.5 years ago (that's when I bought it)! How much more time do you need to fix the problem 🙄🙄🙄???)

Monitoring tachycardia. Cardio isn’t as good as a medical pulse instrument, but it works well enough for me to determine whether my supraventricular tachycardia (SVT) is acting up. I ignore the pulse height and shape, which vary randomly if I don’t hold my finger steady enough, and pay attention to the pulse spacing. Cardio works better for me than holding my finger on a blood vessel. My SVT is mainly an annoyance; I am not recommending Cardio for more serious arrhythmia. Follow your cardiologist’s guidance.

Help/Feedback Support. The absolute worst support I’ve encountered to date. I purchased the Pro Upgrade on my iPad and can’t get the family sharing option to work on my iPhone. I’ve sent at least 5 messages requesting help/assistance over the last 2 weeks and have yet to hear anything back from the Developer. I would err on the side of caution if purchasing the Pro Upgrade - don’t count on any technical support from this Developer!

I’m so happy to see this and thank you again. The first time the government had a policy that allowed people who were born to work for At Home old house was when they worked in an office building or in a factory building and were working for an agency or something else and then when you got there you My Heart and Soul would have been the first person that came out of my mind that they could be working with you and work out for me as well so they could help you

Only one without ads. This was the only app in the list that I came across that didn’t have ugly invasive ads and/or check for Bluetooth a million times. And someone actually seems to have proof read the text. Has good features that make the free version useful without requiring payment but then offers a good selection of upgrades that are useful without nagging you to pay every five seconds. There are volumes of disclaimers that you have to agree to, but that’s understandable for anything health related these days.

Great incentives 😍. My favorite app, gives me the incentive to exercise when I don't go to the gym. Always good to know your heart Health in comparison to every one else in your age group. The slower your heart the stronger it is. Unless you're suffering from heart failure. Going with the Cardiio part of the app, I do feel better the rest of the day, I give this a five star rating for sure.‼️PS-your heart is a muscle if you don't use it it will become weaker!

Cute, very useful app. Great app for medium-intensity workouts (which is a relative term, as with most things). The pulse taking capability is a joke - works about 5% of the time no matter how well you try to follow their directions. I also find it cute how they say this is a 7 minute workout when it actually lasts 8 minutes, whoever added the durations of the sets and pauses must have skipped arithmetic class and was too bored to actually time it with a stopwatch. These are minor things though (don’t care much about the pulse rate) and they don’t detract from the usefulness of the app, the smartly designed and well thought-out workout, and the convenience it gives you to do it anytime, anywhere. I enjoy it every time I use it - kudos to the developers.

I love this app. This app seems to be very accurate when compared to some of the others out there. I took it to the gym and compared it to a few different machines and it was accurate. I also took it to my drs office and compared to their equipment and it was very accurate there also. Only issue I may have is having trouble getting a reading of my hand is cold or if I move too much but that is normal and understandable

Great App. App appears to be accurate most of the time. Great for keeping track of progress. I have anxiety so I like to check while coming down from an anxiety attack so I know where I am. It's too bad their isn't another option other than rest and active. Technically while having anxiety you wouldn't want to categorize as rest but you also couldn't categorize as active. It would be nice if there was another category so my checks during anxiety won't be grouped toward the average for resting heart rate.

Best Pulse bpm ios app. Before using Cardio I tried several 'free' apps and a few paid apps and all were unsatisfactory. First, most of these other apps indicate they are for iPhone and iPad but they do not work on the iPad because to take a finger reading you need a camera with light--iPad has no camera light. The Cardio app works on both iPhone and iPad and automatically imports results into Apple's Health app. Cardio measures pulse by either finger or face readings on iPhone and by face on the iPad. Readings are very accurate and match the exact same values taken in my physician's office. Excellent customer service if you have any questions.

Annoying but useful. I have to use this app for my online PE class, and it can be really annoying. My apartment has extremely good signal, but for some reason this app keeps loading my heart rate only to tell me there’s low signal. I don’t have this problem with any other device or app. By the time it actually takes it, if it does, my heart rate goes way down and it’s not qualified as part of the target heart rate zone I’m aiming for based on the requirements of my homework.

Decent but hard to get reading right after major exertion. Generally works well. The finger measurement seems easier than the face measurement. My complaint is that after major exertion, like biking a few miles up and down slopes, it can't immediately get a reliable reading - maybe breathing heavily means I’m not still enough for a reliable finger reading. For example, it initially gives a reading of 140, then at the end of the whole measurement session won’t record it as reliable. I retest and get about 10 bpm slower, by which time I feel like my heart rate has slowed a bit. I think the 140 initial reading was accurate. I’m going to look for another app to try.

Simple and useful. Dropped a star because of the annoying alerts. Why am I getting an alert telling me “it’s time get in a workout” one hour after I completed a workout in the app, including logging my HR? Great app for tracking heart rate daily, and the 7min HIIT workout is very good, esp when incorporated into a larger plan. I fast walk 1.5mi, do the workout at the park, then walk the 1.5mi home, trying to keep my heart rate up the whole time.

Eh.... I’ve been using the free version of this app for a few months now. Some days it just doesn’t work. Post workout measurements require multiple attempts but by then my heart rate reduced so much it is not a meaningful measurement. I like it when it works. I decided to reread the reviews. I noticed the developer responded to zero of the reviews that contained any negative feedback nor responded to any that I looked at period. My conclusion is the developer put it together and is willing to take whatever money comes in with no additional effort on his or her part to improve user satisfaction. I’ll keep my money.

Useful but there are problems. I like the app and I like the way that the data are displayed, but they’ve got some serious problems with continuity. About every fifth time that I go to use the app, it won’t measure anything and I have to delete it and then re-download it to get it to work. That’s after I’ve paid for a premium package, by the way. They don’t respond to emails about the issue, they just let you dangle and figure out for yourself that the only way to fix the problems is to delete and reload. I’m getting tired of doing it constantly.

Accurate and easy to use.. I’ve been using this app for over a year now and find it very accurate. The app is easy to use and has what you need to take your pulse without having to pay for anything. From what I can tell if you did want to upgrade it there are some nice options and no adds.

Reads baby heartbeat too!. So maybe a year ago, my heart was beating all kinds of crazy weird. Went to the doc..nothing. But during it all, I downloaded this app to really sense if it was my heart..it was 😉 It went away, but it recently started doing it again so started using the app again. But this time I’m expecting! And sooo crazy cool..it reads baby’s heart beat too! Well k think. My readings go from like 70s to 140s through out the time!! So I’m assuming it is because it’s never done this before. Soooo cute!!

Scared straight user. I really like this app. It’s a tool I can use as often as I want in a day to keep tabs on my heart rate. I downloaded the app one night when I felt my heart running away with itself. The reading and additional information and estimates scared me enough to make some needed changes in my life. That night I also downloaded two other apps that were not user friendly. My mother started using this app a few weeks before me and highly recommends it. She has CHF and is working hard to control it. Thank you for being my constant companion on my journey back to good health!

Doesn’t do what it says half the time. If you want to measure your resting heart rate, this is a decent option, I found it works most of the time. However, it is totally unreliable in measuring heart rate after activity. I tried over 20 times to measure my heart rate after a run, and i was standing so still that my heart rate was shaking my body. The app starts to measure it and creates the beginning of a waveform but before a number is displayed it quits the process and you have to start over. My heart rate was 192 by the time the app actually measured it because I had to sprint for so long until I could get a reading. So just get a heart rate moniter from target or something if you want to get readings while exercising or after exercising.

Been using for several years…. I put this app on my phone several years ago, and used it regularly, and when my AFib got better, I didn’t use it much. Then my heart went completely out of rhythm, and for a couple of months, I wore a monitor, had an ablation, and finally have it back in some semblance working order. I rely on Cardiio every day, several times a day just for a quick heart rate. I did not pay any extra, just have the free version and that is more than enough to keep my mind at ease. This is a great app, especially for my new iPhone SE, with just the simple camera. I keep an image of my reading, and have a folder of my daily readings! Thanks, Cardiio!!

This app is actually a good one!. I downloaded this app yesterday and thought it was cool, because I didn’t need a bunch of medical supplies or something to read my heartbeat. The idea of this app is great. The flashlight on your phone turns on and you put your index finger on the camera. I don’t know how this works, but it seems like a great idea for an app. If you (a customer) are reading this, you should probably download this app because you can read your heartbeat, strong or weak. If a developer is reading this, congratulations! You just earned yourself a 5-star review for an app! Remember: If the are bugs, fix them as quick as possible to keep the users happy.

Awesome app!!!. Very easy to use. The tutorials are great, enabling you to measure accurately and keep track of your heart rate. You can also write notes to go with each measure, so you can know what you were doing when you took the measure (ex: 15 min after jogging). You can also keep a history of it all, so you can refer back to it. It's an awesome app!

I LOVE IT!!!. I Manley needed the app because I didn’t have an Apple Watch really and I wanted to keep up with things like my heart rate or even how many steps I take I was always interested in what I could do that I never knew of or whatever Annnd this app helps me keep up with my heart and maybe even how healthy my heart is but I mostly like the workout routine that I can do every night and get reminded to do so Very nice app.

Accurate Heart Rate. This app is a Great heart rate monitor and reader it is accurate and does a number of different other functions- I'd recommend it for heart rate testing; it says not for medical but that's OK because you can always check your heart rate by touching the right side of your neck and counting the beats for 30 seconds and then you times that the number by two. Auto-written but correct ⬆️ 🙂

Cardiio. Cardiio is a great app but when it asked me for a review and I clicked 5 starts with I think basically just the text “Cardiio is great” it said “Submitted Review”. I thought I was in the App Store but seems like I was inside of cardio the entire time, the popup modal for submitting the review seemed super official and just like system modals that pop up throughout iOS, but when I swiped up to the multitasking view, the popup modal was actually a view inside of the Cardiio app. As an Apple developer myself, I’m pretty sure this goes against Apple’s human interface guidelines, but the app does take raw waveform measurements, so I guess I have to deal with it until the app is fixed.

Great app for checking my pulse easily.. I use this app regularly to check my testing pulse and my pulse after exercise. It is mush easier than finding my pulse and manually checking it. Thank you

Heart rate. It keeps you up to date.

Enjoy using this app. This app is pretty good. I bought the other features and it is also handy and informative to keep on track of where you sit in te population and where you should aim for. I do the 7 min workouts and they are good. The heart rate measuring is also accurate.

A lot of use.. I use it twice a day and like the tracking ability. I enjoy the record keeping and find it very accurate and handy. None of those other attachments required.

Unsuitable for those outside "normal". The app does not have a way to record irregular heart rates/arrhythmia, especially during severe tachycardia, including SVT events. Instead, it interprets as poor signal and does nor offer an option to save the waveform. Wouldn't have paid had I known. Edit: Had to edit review to reduce the rating. The new look and its update are pretty bad. The app badly needs a feature where user gets an option to save the reading and waveform even if the app "thinks" it is wrong. It shows the waveform but decides not to save. This is useless. Also, with the exercises, there is no user flexibility in choosing what kind of exercises you wish to do and for how long you want to do them. There are some exercises, such as jumping jacks, step on stool, side plank that I cannot do due to some injuries and medical problems, but I have no option to simply skip these and move on to the next. I have to wait for the annoying voice to finish making me wait until I check out the next. Ain't nobody got time for that. I had high hopes with this app, but I now regret paying for this app.

Good app. Good app, can sometimes be temperamental and has difficulty measuring pulse rate. Is a good app when it works though.

Simple handy monitor. Seems to work well. Compared with a fit bit style monitor and results very similar. Easy to use

Peace of Mind!!!. Great App. Knowing your pulse within 60 sec. Just brilliant... Recommend to every one. 👍❤️

Fair. It is a great app. Enjoy using it. But unable to take my heart rate if I have been exercising won’t read high rates

Mr. Thanks to cardiio I'm now back exercising at the grand old age of 43. I was a heart attack waiting to happen.

Love this app. I really like this app tried others but this is my favourite

Great heart monitoring app. This app is great and easy to monitor and very accurate

Test of heart rate. I find this is fun and very accurate keeps me happy knowing my heart rate is normal and sometimes better than normal

Measures pulse well. Measures pulse well and saves basic results which is what I’m after. Pro version has more options

Simple to use. Really easy to use and seems to be accurate enough, I like it.

Purchase 8 features, got 6. Hoping is a fixable glitch. Purchased “all 8 features” “full pro upgrade” pack though only got 6… and prompted for payment for the remaining 2. Is this a glitch ?

Great App. Simple yet accurate this is an app everybody should be using

Great app. I like to find out what my heart beat is

Reliable and easy to use. Having recently had a pacemaker fitted this app provides instant feedback on my heart rate which gives me instant piece of mind that he pacemaker is doing its job. Also great for monitoring HB during stressful business situations.

Good but for odd bug. Used Cardiio regularly and effectively for years on my old iPhone 6. Old phone died and on the new iPhone SE the app has an odd bug. Take a reading, type in a note, and the cursor moves but no letters are visible. Save the reading away, then call it up in the history and the note is there and readable! Weird!!

Accurate or not. My Fitbit give two very different readings as to my bpm which one is accurate

great app for getting into shape. The faster your heart beat is at rest, eg first thing in the morning, the more out of shape you are.

Covering camera and flash 12 pro. A bit awkward to use with iPhone 12 pro - to cover the camera and flash. Otherwise it’s good.

Awesome ap. Easy to use, no problems - great to keep an eye on your heart rate.

😀😀😀. I really appreciate this free app! My cardiologist has checked my heart rate at the same time and was impressed with the accuracy ( I know it’s not a 100% medical tool etc but it’s great it works for me ) I have told many friends and family members about it too and they also have been happy. Thanks Cardiio

Great App. Great accurate heart rate readings every time. Works every time.

Data issues. Although this app works well it only keeps start for certain bit of time and then resets and that really is horrible.

Downloaded appl while on 000. Awesome app, ambulance personnel knew my stats when they arrived after I made an emergency call for chest pains!

My health. It keeps track of my health

App works as intended!. Accurate and easy to use. Good work Cardiio development team :)

Casio App. Great App it's the only way I can focus on my own health.

Instant diagnosis. Having a heart issue it is great for instant checks if I feel something is happening Very accurate

Cardio. Easiest most reliable heart rate monitor I’ve tried after checking out about 5 different apps.

Cardio comfort from regular measuring.. Check Fitbit battery. Use Monitor daily. In Spain for son's wedding 28th July. Four days of partying. So easy heart rate monitor reassures: I can party 4 nights and get good HR Resting pulse. Easy device.

Cardiio app. Easy and informative, fun app to use to help out with my work outs

Cool app. It is nice app and it doesn't bombard you with ads unlike other heart rate monitoring apps. I'm gonna use it for a while and I'll probably upgrade to pro version 👍

Great app. Easy to use clear concise

Back again jane. Love this tool! Incredible how well it measures heart rate and great to see its accuracy-whether via face or finger. Also love (sometimes less so) the 7 minute workout.

Excellent. Easy to use. Free but you can purchase additional apps.

Expense. Love the App used it daily after recovering from an AF Ablation Op. Then, surprised to discover that was originally part of the App now needed to be bought as an extra. Disappointed. Still Disappointed.

It’s good to know. If it’s rest or how high your heart rate gets it so easy to use and that’s what I was looking for. Since then I’ve never looked back

Easiest. Most convenient and straightforward and informative

It’s better then the rest. It’s the best one I’ve found and used 💪🏻👍🏻🏃‍♀️

Useful pulse monitoring app. The app can measure you pulse from your finger or amazingly from your face. Not only does it give you a pulse rate it also shows the wave form. Atrial fibrillation, bigeminy, sinus rythm. Very useful and entertaining.

Convenient to use. I’ve used Cardiio for some time now and enjoy the convenience of taking heart rate and the simplicity of a 7 minute workout. Seeing the results of daily use.

Cardio. Tells you when it’s time you did a Work out or checked your pulse. Check your level of fitness.

Not feeling well helps to measure heart rate. Works well

Great app. The app has been very useful for tracking my heart rate when exercising or working in the garden.

Great App. Records everything I need. Accurate readings, so very happy with App. Well worth the download and the download of the full premium site, is well worth it as well.

Why. Omg really

Apprécie l’utilisation de cet application. L’application est utile pour m’aider à gérer mon arithmie lors de crise elle est précise et rassurante. Merci

App is not useful. I tried this app to measure my heart rate after running . Nine times out of ten it does not get a reading. When I tried to submit a question to resolve the issue the feedback function did not work . Try a better app cuz this one sucks

Great for me. Works fine

Why. I worked in healthcare and would double check results,, they were 90% correct usually

Coeur. J’aime l’utilise cette application tous les jours

Cardio Review. Accurate, and like the idea you can save and monitor your pulse over time, to see the pattern.

Not for IPhone pro max. This app isn’t for iPhone pro max. The camera it picks to measure is the bottom one which is the farthest from the flash. Comparing it with an actual physical blood pressure machine, it’s off by 5-20 bond per minute

Not Free. This is not a free app.

Great concept. Great concept

Not working properly. It has always worked fine for me, but today, for some reason it keeps measuring without stopping to give me the results. It doesn’t stop and the flashlight starts getting hot. Also, the results delete after a while, it doesn’t keep any history past a certain amount of days.

Unable to register high heart rate. Comes up with an error to detect high heart rate. When ever I feel palpitation I try to check and consistently 10-15 times it returns poor signal. I warmed my hands, I kept the phone on a table with just the cameras hanging out to keep my finger over the sensor but no avail. It’s detects the high rates and it’s almost as if it’s afraid to report that it’s so high. Developers please fix.

So easy!. Love how easy this is. Unreal app. Well done!!

Garbage. Clocked my heart rate at 192 when it was 72 BPM Junk.

Finally a decent app!. Does what it advertises without shoving ads in your face and forcing subscriptions

HR monitor. Capable readout! However, I had some minor issues learning how to configure my fingers on the iPhone 12 flash. The HR monitor works well at rest. During exercise, the quiet pause may affect the readout.

Just wow. To be honest I wasn’t expecting much from this app when I downloaded it as “some” apps can be disappointing but NOT THIS APP!!! It’s absolutely amazing so amazing I’m going to buy the pro 10/10.... RECOMMEND RECOMMEND RECOMMEND!!!!!

Cardio. Thank for making me feel better about my self

Amazing. What an awesome concept. Tech has come a long way

Personal info. These share your data with numerous companies including Facebook

Morning routine habit. I use the Cardio heart rate measure and 7 minute workout as a part of my morning routine. Great feeling of accomplishment!

Very accurate. Pleased with this app

Awesome. Great app

BPM. I feel calmer as my wife, although she suffered a lot of pain today as well as severe blurred vision, was less distraught than usual.

Thanks. Great

Heart rate funny. Everything else on the app is pretty good but just except the heart rate every time I find a heart rate app it’s always just terrible i used a pillow to see if it would work with my own eyes I seen a heart rate of 170 seems about right on a pillow lifeless The workout is pretty good The entire app is locked with pay walls I kind of find the always funny 13:99

Cardio. There is a lot of afib. This app can help you do what the md’s are doing. This app might save your life.

Recommend. I know this isn’t suppose to be used as a medical device but due to this app I realized I had a heart issue, went to the doctors and they sent me for ultrasounds, mri and other tests, my pulse went from 60/70 ish to 156 and it was actually accurate my doctor was even surprised it worked how it did for me to monitor myself while taking beta blockers and (my new thyroid medication which ended up being the issue my heart was all over) methimazole. Definitely recommend if you’re paranoid and want to keep an eye on your bpm.

My 6 years experience. I have been using this over 6 years to measure heart rate and do the 7-Minute Workout, both of which work very well. The heart rate sync automatically with apple HealthKit and pretty useful. The 7-Minute Workout by far is the best of all 7-Minute Workout apps, as this is the only app that provides timer announcements at 20, 15, 10, 5, and 0 minutes, and even during the rest periods of 10 seconds, unlike other apps which announce only the start and finish of each 12 exercises.

Didn’t work for iPhone 11 Pro. Said there was a face reading but couldn’t find that option Tried the fingers but kept failing Also worried about leaving marks on my camera lens with pressing my finger tip against the lens

How useful is. As a hyper tense person and other heart issues, this is a blessing

Free. You can pay $120 a year for the other ones or use this for free

Not reliable. App worked great initially then started showing poor signal quality when I would attempt to measure my rate. Reached out several times for a solution to app support and never received a response despite paying 13.99 for app. Downloaded a competing app and it works great. If you do download stick to the free version as you don’t get much for purchasing. Disappointed

Needs All Rights to User Info for 3rd Party Advertising purposes.. The AppStore Privacy disclaimer for this App is opposite to the Privacy consent required upon install. Also ‘Ask App Not To Track’ is also *Not* honoured by this Developer/App

Review. Awesome app. Very reliable.

Claims it’s an oximeter. I dislike click bait claims. Claims to be an oximeter in the description however it’s a pulse reader. I can take my own pulse thank you.

iPhone 11 Pro. Used to use this and it worked well with my iPhone 6s now I have an 11 pro and the facial feature is gone for some reason so not really useable anymore...

East of time. Bad junk not good stuff

Finicky. This app seems fairly accurate at rest but fails to get a reading more often than not after exercising.

Do not upgrade. The free version of this app works well for me. The upgrade is not worth anything imho. It promised access to waveforms but delivered nothing. A total waste of money.

Heart rhythms. I watch my heart rate and rhythm everyday. It is a quick and easy way to see where my heart rate is.

Erroneous name. Works fine as a heart rate monitor. Easy. However description of ‘pulse oximeter’ is incorrect and miss leading as it does not actually provide an oximetey reading....which is why I downloaded it. I can check my pulse myself, I can’t manually take a peripheral oximetry readings. Disappointed.

Excellent tool. Since I experienced a SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection), I have appreciated having Cardiio available to check my pulse when I need to check in. It’s accurate (matches my BP machine exactly) and is as close as my phone. I can save the results and send it to my computer to keep track. I use the free par of Cardiio.

Virus. No bad starts installing games

Super. J ai fais le test de quelques application et c est là meilleur et la plus précise

Misleading privacy policy! Collects a LOT of data!. This app says on the App Store that it doesn’t collect any data. However, when one opens up the app for the first time and examines its privacy policies, it’s clear that they collect a whole bunch of data for advertising and marketing purposes. I hope Apple will crack down on this.

Go eff yourself. This app is absolute trash and I hope no one ever waste time downloading it. TRASH! TRASH! GARBAGE! Which says a lot coming from someone who has never left a review but took the time out of my day to tell you how much dumpster fire your app is

No gender neutral options. Have to choose a gender with no gender neutral option. Couldn't even set up the app so its deleted. Theres more then two genders.

This is a good app. Although it sometimes does has its difficulties it is reliable and it’s a good app really accurate when it works

Cardiio. Cardio has been a great application for me. The setting up a reminder on calendar is very helpful to check my pulse the same time every day. There are other features that I have yet to use but look forward to in the future.

Easy to use. I don’t use the features for a cost because I don’t have any interest in the population comparisons right now, but the ease of taking my own pulse with my phone camera is great. Easy to use, readings compare to more sensitive devices, connects to other health apps, has a designator for whether one had been resting or active before the reading - great simple heart rate counter.

iPhone 11 Pro users beware. I have used the upgraded version of this app app for several years with iPhone 6s and was consistently close to manual heart rate measurements at rest and during exercise and was pleased with the app. However, it is absolutely not consistent with iPhone 11 Pro. Occasionally I would be able to obtain a resting heart rate, but I have been unable to arrive at a consistent method for obtaining an exercise measurement. So unfortunately, I deleted the app.

Helpful app. I like the ability to measure my heart rate. It requires you to be still, which is hard if you’ve been active as your heart is beating fast. But you can figure this out. You also get the wave form. You can save the heart info and also email it. The info is accurate.

Disappointed with timing for feedback. The app is great as long as you do not want a reading within 2 minutes of completing your high intensity workout. The sensor is not capable of securing a heart rate of your heart rate is high—you have to give the sensor some time to capture your reading. By that time, I’ve rested a full 60-90 seconds, so the tracking is not that accurate. However, it’s phenomenal if all you want to do is check resting heart rate and rate after mild activity (walking, gardening, cleaning house, etc.).

Convenient with no intrusive ads. For now this app is quick way to measure heart rate-another app I used now requires tapping through ads an increasing number of screens hocking the app's other features. This app also measures heart rate with the selfie camera, seems to be reliable and even more convenient.

It's an awesome app!

iPhone camera change. The software isn’t easy to use with the iPhone pro. The camera and light sources are difficult to use unlike earlier iPhones. It can be Donne but the graphic is not helpful as the light source and camera are diagonal. Nice app that suffers from neglect.

Great app!!. I’ve used this for online gym courses where we had to record and turn in a screenshot of our heart rate. It’s really helpful and you don’t need a subscription to use the app! Yes there is one you can buy for a few extras, but they’re not needed. :) Definitely try out this app, it’s 100% worth it!

Useless!. I have an iPhone XS Max. I downloaded the app and sat at my counter to test it. I tried in excess of 50 times to get a reading, but all I ever got was an error message that the app couldn’t read my heart rate. My phone was resting on the counter, so it wasn’t moving. I tried various finger positions and changed fingers, but nothing worked. I can’t even image trying to get a reading while exercising if it doesn’t work in a completely stationary position. It was a waste of my time.

Actually functional free app. Although functionality is slightly limited, even the free version of this app does exactly as advertised. Measurement is quick easy and accurate within a 1% margin so long as you measure correctly without too much fidgeting. Thanks for a great app!

Best cardio tracker yet. This app does exactly what I needed to to be able to track my pulse and make notes as to what I was doing at the time. It has other features that are also very helpful, I am actually considering upgrading to the premium service on it. It has been very helpful.

Inconsistent on signal. Often it takes many attempts to get a good read / even when I know I haven’t moved it drops a good read at the end. Amplify this when I am trying to take a measurement after a workout. Often that read is off because it takes too much time.

So Far So Good. I have only used the app a short time. It has been accurate thus far, though I haven’t had a chance to check it under conditions other than low light and resting heart rate. It is simple to use and provides reminders if you want them.

Great for resting pulse, not so great for workouts. Both face and finger measurements are accurate when at rest compared to manual measurements. I can’t get a finger pulse during a workout even if I measure during a rest period. Face measurement also doesn’t work well during a workout possibly because my face is flushed. Like integration with Apple health app. Overall better than average pulse app

Excellent, glad it’s free. This app works like any other heart app, best feature is that it’s actually free (there are premium features, but pulse check and some other stuff is completely free and requires no account). I used to have a competitor app until they decided to lock out free features, so I guess Cardiio gets my support now :)

When it works. This app is great when it works however there are way too many times when it errors out especially when you are exercising. It simply reports communication error and until you are at rest again it won’t read.

Cardio. Great little app to check your pulse rate. Very accurate and gives you some ideas of how you compare with your age group, plus it gives you a nice little workout! I will probably get the full version sometime in the future.

Great tool. This is a great app to help me track the heart rate whenever I want to. Easy to use. It takes a little practice to learn how to have it get an accurate reading. Take the time to experiment with it and you will find it a useful tool. I have been a regular user for a few years and really appreciate it as part of my healthy living.

Nice little app to have aka “Little LifeSaver”. Cool little app to keep up with your heart rate, pretty cool how it works using your light and camera on your phone, when you cover it with your finger, the camera picks up the rate of blood flow by the color changing as the heart beats! Brilliant whoever thought of that!! I know they have BEEN doing it that way for a while now(in HOSPITALS), but to have it in your POCKET as you are on the go, now that’s a nice feature to have, ESPECIALLY with people who have had heart problems...mmmm

Great BUT.... This app is great, but I have two mini complaints, for the greater good of the app. First, how does it measure endurance? I think I’ve been pretty good when it comes to endurance but it still gives me a low score. ALSO— The exercise intensity range does not work— I upgraded with the ten dollar bundle... I’m not sure, maybe I’m doing something wrong. Other than that this app is great!

Great app. Simple, easy, accurate. I use this app all the time to monitor my heart rate. My only request to the developers is to add a feature where you can specify if it’s your supine or standing heart rate. I have POTS so mine is always different. Also the “healthy” range is funny when your resting heart rate from 60bpm to 135bpm over the course of a day lol

Fun app. I just love this app! I can’t bend knees so good and can’t get on floor so I keep doing arm lifts or walking in place till rest time to keep my heart rate going. So it could be better but it’s ok I’m moving. My heart rate was 74 after exercise I was 68 should go up but I’m working on that. I used finger method both times.

Necessary. I was using this app for workouts. But I now find it absolutely necessary since I've been having some heart issues. You can take notes. I save them and monitor my heart throughout the day. If elevated, I take note of what I was doing, how I was feeling and who I was with.

Warm-up Routine?. I like the Cardio measurement, though at times, even with excellent lighting, I need to retry several times at times, and by the time I get the reading to actually take on my iPhoneXR my pulse has slowed down enough to sway the insights. There is a feature missing on the workouts I wish they would incorporate, and that is to include a warm-up routine in the beginning. Otherwise, some people may go right into this cold and strain a muscle or two. The animated figure goes so fast that it difficult to keep up on many of the exercises, especially on the chair step ups, jackknifes and lunges. For others, such as the squats, it actually gives me a good workout. For me the important part of this app is the cardio measurement.

Best privacy policy I've ever seen. After fighting my way through multiple apps that wanted me to sign my life away so I could take my pulse, what a joy to find a simple effective app that explicitly avoids stealing my information, while connecting to Apple Health and offering a one-time, no subscription upgrade. Thank you, Cardiio, for making my day!

Face-camera-based measurement removed??. I used to love this app because it would use the front-facing camera to look at your face and detect your heart rate. It seemed like magic, but it was based on cutting-edge research, and that’s why I bought the app. Unfortunately a recent update removed this functionality, making it just like all of the other ‘put your finger over the camera & flash’ apps that have been in the store for over a decade.

My Heart Rate. This app is great, I use the finger monitor mostly and it great. The unique feature of this app "face monitor" is a great tool after a run because I don't have to remove the phone from my arm band to track my rate. Awesome Today I tried the 7 minute cardio, excellent. I'll use this for an end of day routine

Great tool. I started a medical treatment that affects my heart. When I have symptoms it’s nice to be able to visually see my heartbeat. While I understand the app’s disclaimer this is not for medical reasons, it’s still a very good tool that I plan to show to my doctor which may prompt further medical studies.

Very good. I can learn a lot about heart rate and also tap in to run keeper while running or walking this is a very good app Cardiio is even better after the last update It tells me what my pulse is when getting up to working out at the gym and thru out the day Then there is the 7 minute work out that can get you going

Works well. Update a year + in of use - I still find this easy to use and reliably accurate. It's also something I can use w/o drawing attention in a meeting or at my desk. Good app. I like the ease of use, and how quickly it works. I've tried a few other bp apps, this is by far the best.

Absolutely works. I’ve seen people say that apps like this don’t work, this 100% works. I took my heart rate manually then used this app to compare the results, I got the exact same number. I’m so glad I found this app, I have bad anxiety and this helps me reassure myself I’m not dying. Love this:

Cardio works great. The numbers are accurate as I’ve checked it against another app and it has more information than the other app I’ve used. It’s very easy to use and only takes a few seconds. I’m very satisfied.

Fantastic but one suggestion. Hi, Cardio app is fantastic. But I think it is missing one tiny feature that would make it even more fantastic - sound. Why not add a minimal beeping sound that simulates a real heart rate monitor? A pleasant beep every time the heart beats. That would be very neat. I hope that you will consider my simple suggestion. Thank you. Hashim.

Great app for monitoring heart rate. This app works really well for tracking your heart rate. Check in the morning when you first wake up for your resting hr. Also you can view the rhythm of your heart on screen as it measures your hr. Skipped heart beats or Pvc’s will show up as pauses or larger imprintsin the normal beat which basically looks like ducks in a row. This app is a must.

Extremely Accurate. When I was using this app, I put my finger on my arm to check my real pulse and my other finger on the camera to see the pulse this app detects. After all, the beats were on point and the beats on my hand were similar to the ones on the app.

Not good with iphone11 Pro. The light and the camera used (bottom right) are hard to touch simultaneously, (especially for small fingers). The heart rate signal comes out as very uneven ,difficult to measure. It used to be such a nice app and now it is close to useless. Cardio needs an update using the top left camera.

Won’t finish and save consistently. I get about 1 out of 10 tries to save the results. Lower if I continue immediately. I keep getting an error message stating to keep still, fingers must be warm, yadda yadda… my hands are warm, not hot, not cold. I am sitting still and lens and hands clean, and watch the little ring finish its circle as the numbers reflect the beats, and then poof, error message.

Not for anyone with AFib. Well this app used to work flawlessly with the previous iPhones, as others have pointed out, it now has trouble finding your pulse due to the increase cameras on the back of the phone. In addition even though it shows up and down lines of great frequency it tells you you have a normal pulse of 62. I would recommend getting the Kardia device, it’s more accurate tells you if you’re in Atrial fibrillation and bradycardia. Much much more accurate and helpful. And yes a subscription is required.

Real goo.... I think. I'm not a doctor but I did some tests to see if it worked by using other apps and they all had the same resting heart rate. Then I did the 7 minute workout thing and tested if the beats per minute wheat up at all or if they were guessing but it seemed to be accurate.

Great recommendation cardio. Cardio I really like having you guys because you alaways make me happy when I go on my dads phone to check my tempture and do the workout which I do sometimes but I really appreciate you doing everything you can thank you for everything you have done for my family thanks again for helping everyone here!

Love but difficult on iPhone pro max11. It’s difficult to get coverage on the back of the iPhone Pro Max 11 because the cameras are far apart. I get the reading that “bad reading” all the time. So it makes it difficult. Other than that I love the fact that I can u sweat and my heart health.

Easy to use and well designed. I didn’t think it would be possible to use my finger and the flashlight to take heartbeat measurements but we compared it with a finger reader and the Apple Watch and it matched within a beat. I really like the app, the tracking, the extras...

Peace of mind. I like to use Cardio often , to see how much improvement I have obtained from an extensive cardio version/ablation procedure that lasted 7 Hours. Side affects from the anesthesia caused me to suffer severe urology problems that took more than a month of anguish to regain my normal. So , I like to assure myself that fixing my heart was worth agonizing time. R a y

Male. I usually control my heart rat by using this App and I feel happy and safe with it i also appreciate you and your team for providing such apps i wish you could provide some more medical apps to take care of people’s health

Very accurate. I find Cordio very active it helps me to monitor my heart rate. I have been known to have low blood pressure as well as high blood pressure and it really keeps me aware of how the foods I eat and the exercise I do I fix my heart rate I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs to keep track of their blood pressure

Maybe it’s early, but.... I purchased the full option on the app because it was cheaper than similar ones. Heart rate is difficult—Get a “poor signal” message every time, and have to try multiple times. Still waiting to see what other features I might be able to use.

Good quick tool. This is about as close to hospital level stats as you can get . I was doing cardio rehab a while back . I was wired up so the techs could monitor my heart rate . I would use Cardio app on my iPhone to see how accurate it was . BPM were the same ! Impressive . Today I use it to monitor BPM after biking or during a martial arts class . Very helpful .

A+++. this helps me keep track of my pulse!! i have swelling on my brain effecting my eyes and making my eyesight dwindle. when i found all this out my pulse was 126 at the optometrist office. i have an appt with a neurologist & i’m only 27 this app helps me know that i’m currently not in immediate danger! i love it. thanks for the cool app
