Amazing App!!!. This is an amazing app! When I write, I always have trouble coming up with names, and this app will help me. I think one of the best parts is that it doesn't pressure you to get the full version, because it is the full version. Yes, you heard me, the full version is free. Also, the names are realistic. This app can really help you.

Love It!. I have NEVER been able to come up with names out of the blue when I'm in full writing mode! Sometimes I even put symbols in the text for names so I don't have to interrupt the flow of the story. With Name Dice, problem solved, quickly and easily. There's no complicated thing you need to do to open or close the app. Just a couple of taps and you have a random name for your character before you can say 'Holy Shakespeare!'

Selective dice. Id really love to see the option where if you like one name but not the other, you can tap just one out of the two die, and choose to throw just the one.

It's good... It could use some work. This app is pretty good. Although I wish, you could choose between girl and boy names. Another addition to the app that can be extremely helpful is, that you pick the first letter of your characters first name, and the first letter to your characters last name. Also one time when I was using this app it keeped giving me the same last name. In addition, this app needs to include some other names, that it doesn't already include. All of the reasons above, give why this is a four star app.

Not perfect. I liked it but it was very loud. Will not recommend to people with needs to be quiet, such as sleeping kids and so on.

Great. Like the app but with I could change its name to, "Prepare to be shown your Ex girlfriend's names."

Great for writers!. Sometimes when you write a character you have a name ready for them. Other times you get caught up on the name. I use this app to find names quickly for characters. It's random and therefore lets your characters seem authentic. Love this app!!!

Very Helpful. This app is really helpful for writing stories. If your like me and can't think of names off the top of your head. So if you are writing and need some names for characters. This app is the one to use. With just a tap on the screen you instantly have infinite names.

Name Dice. I find this application to be fun and easy to use. It is exciting to see just what the dice will come up with and it helps to spark my creativity. For one of my characters just from the name alone I was able to develop a character that gave my story true depth. This app rocks!!!!!!

Until .... This app was fabulous until just this minute. It gave me names that seemed to click and I loved every single one of them. Just now, though, the screen freezes and all I can do is go back to the Home screen on my iPad. Is anyone else having this issue?

Four stars. I love the app - it always comes up with loads of names. My only problem is that it usually comes up with western names and needs a bit of diversity. I still love it for its varied surnames and first names but it could be better

A helpful little app. It does exactly what it advertises; however, it could benefit from having a larger database of names, allowing you to add names, and if there were parameters that you could change (i.e. name length, first letter, alliteration y/n, ethnicity, time period, gender, etc.). If they added those things, it'd be 5/5.

Good app!. This is a good app if, for whatever, reason, you need a name. It has first and last, even though you may have to roll it a few times. I just wish you foul get only a first name, and vice versa. But, overall, it's a good app!

Useful And Amazing. I love this app, it gives great names, but I’d like to suggest adding a feature where you can add and remove/deactivate names, so you can deactivate names you don’t like, or add names you do like.

Very Helpful and entertaining :). Well, I write short stories. I consider myself to be a good writer, with a unique writing style. Unfortunately, I have always had trouble coming up with good character names. This app generates some of the best story names I have ever heard, and since downloading this app, I have gone through most of my old writings and changed the names of the characters, to names generated by this app...an absolute MUST for any writer!!!

Favorite writing tool. I use this app constantly to come up with new and interesting character names. I like the scroll back feature and will often mix and match from what the app gives me.

OMG. I love this app I just got it and it is awesome I have already started writing books!

Good but add a few things. This helps a lot with writing but I would add two things to an update. 1. A third dice, add another dice to represent a middle name but also make this optional just in case they don’t want a middle name. 2. Gender preference, allow us to choose what gender the names generated should be. That’s really it add these 2 things and this would be an even better app.

Excellent - Best there is. I love this app because it is so easy to use. It does exactly what it says. I also enjoy the feel of really throwing a dice just as much as I type my novels on a typewriter. I have used this app countless times to name my characters in my stories. I even got my Pen Name using it. Awesome app, thank you!

Good help. Have had this app for a little while and I take a roll of the dice when I want a new name for a character in a story I am writing. I have other methods of getting names, but, a roll of the dice is fun. I would prefer the option for gender, but, otherwise it is good.

Pretty good. I like this app a lot, it comes in handy for when I need to name a character who is less important, e.g.: a neighbor, or teacher. However, I wish they would put criteria on it, so you could pick what letter or gender it starts with, and then get a list of names and last names to pick from. Four stars for that

Productivity. This app is definitely one of my favorites. I've never really been that good with creating names for anything but the app more than makes up for my weak point. Most if not all names fit together perfectly and sound natural. There're no forced or absurd names each name is so strong that I feel as if the character practically comes to life as soon as I read it.

I love this app. I love this app, but it would be even better if you could choose which gender you want the names from. Other than that it's a really good app.

Incredible and helpful. When I write, I struggle to come up with different names on my own. Often the names I generate are variations of common names I've seen. This app, with a large pool of names to draw from, helps create random names that are realistic.

No animation. If you are going to use the dice setting for what amounts to a simple random name generator, at least animate the dice. Instead this app just generates a random still frame picture of two six sided dice just like the screen shot. The dice to take different positions with each random name, which ends up being distracting. As a concept, this app fails. Two stars instead of one because it does succeed in generating random names.

coolio!. the ads are a bit distracting but who cares. i’ve named so many characters with this app! it’s really helpful and much easier than googling baby names, lol. people with heaps of OCs can relate 😂

For name dice app (review). common 'celeb' names appear too frequently. Not asking for common European (Latin, Asian, etc.) names, but more choices among those as far as 'rare' or more unique ones. Other than that, a great app! Thanks very much for it's availability.

Lol. This game is fun if ur just looking for a random name. And then it also is good for just wasting time n seeing what the app will come up with. My friends and I laughed so hard at some names at our last sleepover. I suggest chosing from different cultured last names. Tht would be cool

Needs more variety. Pretty good name generator but they're almost exclusively standard European or American names. It would be nice to be able to randomly generate names from other cultures. Also, you can't ask for it to generate middle names or two-part first names or anything else that isn't Firstname Lastname, which gets repetitive really fast. Generally, I haven't found myself resorting to this app when I need a name because it just isn't robust enough.

Great app!!. I love how it has so many names that I can use when I’m writing a book about how that God sent his only son into the world so that He could die on a cross for our sins. All we have to do is realize that we need to be saved from our sins, and accept Jesus Christ (God’s son) as our savior!! Great app!. Name Dice is great! It is very helpful and fast. But the only thing that could make it better is if there were some settings, like "girl names only" and etc. But overall I think it's great!

Great app for random names. I write a lot of non-fiction, but now and then, like this month for NaNoWriMo, i am writing fiction. This really helps with misc. names. I like to choose names for my main characters, but never know what to call incidental people. Until now!

Great Apps!. Very useful app. Coming up with names for characters is always a pain, and this app takes the pain away. Unlike some other name generators, the names from this app are actually good, usable, normal sounding names. I could not be more pleased.

Lame.... There aren't any fields to filter the results, for example, an option to just show female names, or just male names. You just click to roll the dice and end up with much of the same names you see in the screenshots. The screencaps and the description also led me to believe that you could filter by genre as well. Nope. It's just the same two dice and totally random results. I get that it's supposed to just give you a general name at random, but it's a little too random for me. I'm better off with random name generators online.

Amazing!. This app is amazing! I write short chapter stories that take just from the top of my head and this has helped me come up with 20+ names. First and last! I highly recommend it.

Helps me keep moving. I know it's a very basic concept but the thing I think I like about this is that it helps me move on and keep writing where I would often stop and begin procrastinating. Even if I don't love the names it's throwing out, I can pick one that sounds about right for my character and move on, knowing I can come back to it later and change it. The only reason I left one star off is because it would be very handy to be able to store and save names you like in the app to refer back to when you need them.

Great Idea but.... This has a really great concept, I do find it difficult to come up with names quick. However, I think the app would be much improved by a little switch or something that would make only male or females appear on the dice. When I'm looking for a male name I have to search forever to find one. This would make it much better. On the upside you graphics are really good!

Nice app, but...... I think i will not stuck on names for my story anymore... But sometimes when i opened this app, it crashed all of a sudden.(btw i am using ipad 2) It can't roll a name, the screen always show 'name dice" and when i push home button it doesn't wanna get out, so i must push sleep button. What did you expect?. It does what it claims to do, provides randomized first and last names. I don't know how many names it has altogether, but it's definitely an excellent app. If you don't like it you're expecting too much.

Custom names. It'd be cool if we could add in a list of our own names that we like, or words that we like. And then have the dice mix and match them to create a new name. Like for example if I like the name Azoth, it's not a name in your app's system because it's a fantasy name... But it should be and I would like that option.

Name Dice. This works well for getting quick, random names and is really simple. I really think you should be able to have filters, at least just so you can choose from girl and boy names.

I love it!. Great for those who just need random names. I usually try to put meaning into my names but surnames are always a pain. This tool really helps with the naming process. I use it for main and supporting roles alike.

Very limited. A (relatively speaking) small bank of somewhat common, mostly Western names, only helpful if you're writing about modern probably white contemporary people. It just suggests uninteresting combinations of names. The app itself works fine, relatively worthless as it is.

Nice. This is a nice fun app but it could use an update. Many of the names are not that great if you play with it for more then 2 or 3 min you get the same names. It's still fun and great for helping writers block or just picking names in a vid game or app. I just hope more names are added soon.

Meh.. This app is very useful and pretty good, but the names are very basic and some are kind of boring. This app would be a lot better with some weirder names, too. For example, names like Rain, Basil, Ivy, and Gazette. :3

Not very interesting names. Otherwise, great app!. Me and this app must not have the same taste in names. While I have used this app for a few names, but they are mostly old fashioned and not modern.

Could be better.... Name dice could be better, but it could be worse. I don't like that it won't let you go back to the name you just got rid of. I do like the names, though!

For such a simple app it takes forever to load. I like the app... Once it actually loads up and starts working. Usually it takes upwards of a minute before I can generate names.
