Amazing app. I don't know about you, but when I wake up in the morning I kind of mess around. And sometimes I don't have time to plan out my lunch in the morning, I use this app at night and plan everything out. And then in the morning I just packed my lunch, It is definitely worth the price.😊

Great app!. This app got my older kids (10 & 12) excited about choosing their lunch. They added new foods themselves . Love the shopping list. I suggest the following updates; Allow edits of new foods after they have been added, so you can add a photo later or change name or type. Add a description field (after the title) so you can give a fuller description to help your child choose. Recipe reference could also be included here. Some guidance for parents on how to allocate new foods to proteins or snacks might be helpful.

Barely does the job. I thought this was a cute and functional app for my kindergartner, who is adept at feeding monsters. The construct is easily understood, but it is unfortunately not user friendly. It does not sync between devices, even though we have it linked to be on the iPad and mine and my husband's phones, so any updates or changes that are made to the menu options only show up on the device in which it was made. Because I took photos of food items to customize things, that means we always have to use my phone, and the images are very small, not to mention that the menu is so small it is hard for him to page through the options. Items that I have deleted multiple times somehow keep showing up. There are food items that have pictures and can only be used in one category, which is frustrating--it would be nice to be able to add some items to >1 category (e.g., applesauce in both Fruit and Snack categories). When we have the time to research a new app, we will definitely change, because it is a frequent hassle.

great!. kids love it and i love it, makes the mornings so much easier! Would LOVE the option to swipe up to switch between kids. Right now when making lunch, have to choose kid, find day, switch to list mode, then go back and do the same thing for the next kid. I would love to be in list mode for that day and be able to swipe up or down to switch kids, please add this feature!

Good app but wrong category label bugs me. For some reason, all carbohydrates are under the “protein” category. Pasta is not a protein. There should be at least be an option to customize the labels.

Was working great. We have used this app since school started at the end of August. Since updating to ios8 it wont save meals and the grocery check off is not working. I touch one item and it blanks out the whole list or it marks of another item above or below the one I selected. Hope this is fixed soon my boys like planning their meals for school.

A single account.... Across platforms would be nice. My son likes the iPad best, but my wife doesn't use it. It'd be great if there were one account so my son and wife were out shopping while I have the iPad at work. On a positive note, my son (9) was so excited about choosing his own lunch that he picked cauliflower, broccoli, and carrots for a single meal. He got a cookie and yogurt too, but all those vegetables! Nice! Upped to five stars. Support is very responsive.

LaLa Lunchbox is so great!. I love using this app. It took me a little bit to figure it out, but there is a lot you can do once you've got it. I love planning meals for my kids and having an automatic grocery list! I love it.

FANTASTIC!. Hi! I LOVELOVELOVE THIS APP! It's so helpful and it let's people all be in control of their own lunch. However, I do wish that you could add a drink or a few with your lunch and make a higher limit for how many food items you can add. Thanks!

Where has this been for the last few years?. Every morning is a bit of a struggle with our kids as we try to balance healthy food with items the kids will actually eat. This puts the power in the kids hands and keeps them happy and healthy. No more uneaten food at the end of the day. AWESOME!

So excited!. I just downloaded this app and the breakfast one too. It's not my kids stuck in a rut of what to eat -it's me of what to feed them. They have iPod touches and I think if they put their choices on their touch it'll sync to my phone. (If I remember the describe I briefly scanned it said sync between devices - oooh I hope so!) Too have a shopping list too. Same problem with breakfast as with lunch! $.99 each is well worth giving it a try. I added my own lunchbox. I need inspiration too. Upon playing with my lunchbox it's beautifully done. Clean easy ui and great food pictures. I almost want to wake my kids up to show them. Update a few days later: still loving this I've added a user called Dinner. My children have added a user called Dessert. We are taking pictures of meals (when we remember) that are our dinner favorites that are not in here. Oh found out the .$99 sale is thru August if I remember correctly. Both the breakfast app and the lunch app are great. I've requested a dinner app from the developer! I definitely do NOT want the apps combined. My only other request would be that the food data bases are shared with all three apps, like the grocery lists. Each having theses categories : produce, protein, starches, snacks/treats For example left overs from dinner are a popular breakfast item and 90% of the time my children choose to have their treat for the day after breakfast.

Keeps shutting. It worked great until this week when it won't open. It gets to the home screen and then closes back down. So sad since this is the first week of school and I really needed it!!

Great App for Parents. I highly recommend it for the busy parent that is interested in healthy eating. Sometimes you don't notice what you put in the box - this app keeps you honest :-)

Saves me time in the morning!. I love this app! I was in search of an app that could show my kids choices for lunch. I used to use a worksheet and a dry erase marker and have the kids select what items they wanted for lunch. This work somewhat, the problem was that I had to print a new sheet when the items changed. With lala lunchbox I am able to customize food items that my kids love. My kids love selecting what they want for lunch. In the morning all I need to do is pull up their order and make it. In the morning my brain is not running at top speed so I it would take some time to figure out what to pack and hope that my kids will like it. I use bentgo lunch containers for my kids. This app helps me to fill all the compartments.

Awesome for all ages. Needs a drink section. I am 19 years old and I found this app recently. I have been wanting to meal plan and this app has helped. I found it last week. I also used the La La Breakfast app. I think the sections of protein vegetable, fruit and snack are great. The only thing I can think of to add to the app is a drinks section. I like the little monsters and colors that can be made for each child, or activity. I have one lunchbox labeled my name, and one lunchbox titled Pool Snacks. I like that I can add my own food items with pictures. I used it to plan my breakfasts for the next week. I wish I had found it sooner for myself. Useful for parents, fun for kids. Not only does it make lunch preparation easier but by empowering your kids to pick their lunch in a fun way they are more inclined to select foods outside of their staple mac & cheese and chicken nugget diet. Requests: label the food already in the lunchbox (it's not always obvious from the tiny picture what the food is), and syncing across devices. Thanks for the great app. My kids love the monsters :)

Makes lunches easier!. This app has been great to get my kiddos involved in making lunches! No more complaints or uneaten lunches at the end of the day because they have chosen what goes in. The grocery list feature is especially convenient, I can see just what I need to buy according to what they’ve chosen. My favorite part is that they get ideas for new and different foods that they wouldn’t eat if it was me suggesting it! My son ate tuna sandwiches for lunch every day last week, something he had never wanted before. I’m all about making it easier to feed my kids healthy, whole foods!

Love it - so fun!. Firstly, the design of this app is so cute. Each family member gets to choose their own monster from a set of adorable monsters. I also love the sounds the monsters make when you put food in their mouths. More importantly, getting kids involved in planning their lunches is so clever. Not only will they feel more ownership of their lunch, and therefore are more likely to eat it, but they at learning about making healthy food choices and balancing a meal. I tried this with my almost two year old, and even though she is still too young for this,she clearly enjoyed it. We will definitely be using this as she gets a little older!

Makes lunchtime quick and easy!. We love the app! We can add our own choices for the kids to pick from. The grocery list makes it easy to make sure we have everything we need for the week. The customer service is so quick to respond!

Amazing!. My son enjoys being able to decide what he eats for lunches, and I like that I can modify the lists to reflect what we have in the house and what he can eat. The grocery list function helps me plan my shopping trips, which is an added bonus. Love it!

Girls now planning lunch for entire family!!. I have always included my girls in the planning of their lunches but it was like pulling teeth. Since they started using LaLaLunchbox they not only love planning their own lunches but have started planning mine and my husbands too!!!😊

Fun for parents and kids. My kids love "playing Lunchbox" as they call it to help plan their lunch each day. Involving them in the planning process in a fun way cuts down on the "I didn't want that!" that can happen when mom or dad choose lunch. It also gives uninspired parents new, healthy ideas for kids' lunches. Hummus anyone?

Has it all!. This app should solve our school lunch packing problems. And it should make their lunches healthier because they can see the varied choices instead of picking the same things everyday. Love that the lists can be shared from device to device and that it makes a shopping list.

Great idea, needs some usability help. Great idea with a lot of promise. I was trying out the lunch app with interest in the breakfast app. Couple big shortcomings, so it won't be useful for me until addressed. 1) after you add a food you can't edit it. I discovered this after I entered a bunch of things and realized 2) only about 10 characters display in the lunchbox. Annoying (how do you distinguish between plain applesauce, cinnamon applesauce, and berry applesauce? In 10 characters in a way kids could understand?) but I might could've figured how to solve that. Except per #1 I couldn't simply edit, I had to re-enter a new item and disable previous. That's also about the time I realized 3) once you've selected something to put in the lunchbox it only shows the pic and not the label. Again an annoyance. (Except who has time to find/make every item to take a pic before adding it?) And if you mess up you can't change it.

So fun! Even more practical. Lala lunchbox was so much fun to start using. A beautiful interface and an extremely personal and interactive experience at every step. After the creating a few lunch boxes, we realized the grocery list was DONE! Beyond making planning and stocking the kitchen easier, it also educates kids on food selection, food groups, and empowers them to make decisions. Love it.

Fun. Easy to use and fun. I like that you can add your own items, with your own pictures. I wish the snack section was called grains, to better keep track of food groups. Another nice feature to add might be a sandwich builder, to help keep track of toppings for the grocery list:)

Good idea but frustrating. Frustrated that the buttons often don't work. I like the overall concept but it's useless if we pick a snack or a meal and then the DONE button won't work.

a few more features please. I love this app. though I wish you could pack just a snack box- for those 1/2 days. also, it would be nice to see everything in the lunch box at once, w/o having to click on each section [this is for after lunch is selected] and the real food is being put in the kids boxes.

Lunch made easy!. I love this app! It's so well executed. A bit overpriced but it's worth it to me. Although I do not have kids, I have an incredibly picky boyfriend. Sounds silly, but it's great to have him pick out what'll be in his lunch. That way we're not wasting food. My favorite part is the automatic grocery list. After you pick the weeks lunches, I can easily view what we need for the week. Another great thing is that I can add my own foods. I would have been very upset with the app without this capability but that makes it all worth it. This app has given me a huge sigh of relief. So organized and friendly. Great app!

We love this app!. My kids and I love this app! I let the kids pick their lunches each week as we go through all the different food options. The best part is that it gives us ideas for foods we never would've thought about. I am much more organized with my grocery shopping, and I don't waste food, because I know the kids will eat what I've packed them - and food doesn't get lost in the fridge!! Thanks for helping me organize and keeping my kids healthy!

Simple , cute , and perfect. Great for my son to help with lunches and I don't have to think about WHAT to put in his lunch. That sometimes is the hardest part for some reason. ;) wish there was one of these for dinners too!

Game changer!. Downloaded this app last year for my son when we were both so tired of PB&J in his lunchbox. I was so surprised at some of the things he requested for lunch via the app! He was 7 when we started, which I think was a great age to begin planning. He understood the choices he needed to make and I rarely had to veto anything. His sister is now 5 and we've started her on the app too. It takes a little more effort with her- I sit and do it with her. But I consider it training her to make the healthy choices. I do wish there was an easier way to switch between boxes while packing the lunches. I think someone else suggested swiping up which would be great. I also wish you could customize the number of items by user as well as edit custom items after you add them. All in all, we love this app!!

Rockin!. I love this app. I don't even have kids, but the way they eat is pretty similar to how we should all be eating. This app is a great way to plan a healthy packed lunch that saves time & money. No more wasted food is right! And the crunch noise when you drag the foods into the lunchbox is crazy hy-lairious. Get to it, peeps!

Lovely.. This is a well-thought and well-designed app that will make my life easier. I love that the choices are healthy, that I can add foods, and that my techo-geek kid can be involved with the lunch planning process.

Just Me?. I must be the only one not impressed with this app. I suppose I thought it did more as far as nutrition went. Instead of having it set at what they 'should' have nutritionally at each meal (also by adding the child's age to adjust to their needs), you just change the total number of items in the lunchbox. Also, the foods listed are so limiting. We eat lots of vegetables in our house, and most of them aren't listed. Sure I can sit there and program them all in, but I don't have time. The monster idea is cute, the app Itself is setup very nice. I just wish it functioned more in making sure the child gets what they 'need' put into their boxes. I would use this not only for lunch, but every meal. As of now, I have yet to use it. :/

It makes nutrition fun!. This app is genius! It makes choosing nutritious foods fun while opening up the discussion about food and good choices. I love how easy it is to add new things that we make to the already great lists. It's not only a good list for kids. I have a monster for myself too! Which helps me make sure I'm getting a proper balance. Thanks for such a fun way to plan food for the week!

Love this app!!. If I could give this app 10 stars, I would. First of all, the idea behind this app is genius. It’s so easy to use, and the grocery list feature is super helpful. My kids love their lunches now that they help choose what goes in them. I follow her on Instagram and her lunches constantly blow me away. This app is awesome. Totally recommend!!

Great idea but needs some updates. I love the concept. Unfortunately, once a custom item is entered, it can't be edited. I wanted to add a photo later and couldn't. On another one, I didn't get to change category before choosing a pic from my library. It was saved automatically in the wrong category, which cannot be edited. It would also be better if user could limit how many items from each category a child can pick. I don't want my child picking only 4 snacks or no protein. If I have to verbally restrict what they choose as they're doing it, I'm losing out on the fun of the app for them.

New User. So far so good, just started using today. Makes it easy to plan the week on your shopping day. Needs 2 things: a place for the drink selection and a place for notes like "don't forget to add the ice pack" or "pack change to buy a milk at school" - that would be very helpful for the next update.

Great organizing tool. Easy to use and customize, and my kids love it. Eliminates the tedium of "what do you want for lunch today?" and the kids are increasingly using the app to help them pack their own lunches. One suggestion for improvement -- make switching to the list view for each day easier. The existing button is teeny.

Not practical. There is no option to add your own food ideas. Lots of things we normally take for lunch are not on this list, and can't be added. Also, it just seems to be an ad for Applegate foods. My child doesn't understand what half the stuff listed is & it's not even available in our area. Not worth buying the app, and not really worth having when it's free.

Not as good as it once was.... I used to use this app for myself during college. It was awesome and I loved using it! I stopped using it for a year or so, and recently thought I should check this out again now that I'm out of college. The dumb thing is though, that the monster covers up over half of the lunchbox so you can't see the last 2 categories! I don't know if this is just my phone or if it's happening to other iPhone 4s users, but it's really irritating. I wish it could be fixed because I loved this app! I want to keep using it!

Great!. I love this app, and use it to plan my husband's lunches. It makes the planning easy and also reminds me of other lunch options that I forget about. I would love to see even more food items, and a beverages section would be great!!

Love It! But could have some more features.... I personally love this app. It saves so much time in the morning. But I wish that you could set the limit of items in the lunchbox, and I also wish you could add your own items and delete some of the provided items. Do this in the next update, and the app will officially be the best app ever!!!!! Never mind, found out it already has both features!

Great for the kids.. My kids love the idea and were very excited the set up their first weeks lunches. Customer support is great! Very helpful & quick to respond. Helped me with the sync.

Great concept, limited application. The idea behind this app is pretty clever: kids lunch meal planning synched with a grocery list. Takes an often tedious routine and involves parent and child in a fun tech-savvy way. However, food choices are limited and there's an awful lot of processed meats and packages snacks. I suppose this is normal and ok for many people, but not everyone feeds their kids cold cut sandwiches for lunch 4-5 days a week. There were a couple of pasta choices, but I honestly can't see this being too useful to any families (like mine) who eat (for lack of a better word) ethnic food (the only non-western selection I saw was sushi). Anyway, it would be great if the app were more customizable. Somehow allow people to add their own food items to the list, possibly even take their own pictures. Like I said, good concept but only so-so execution BUT there's definitely room and potential for great improvements.

No good. Very limiting app if you are looking to only use the four food groups in general terms to show your kids what they have eaten, but for realistic mommy planning its no good.

Good app but limits 6 items. Should be allowed to have a variety of items for lunch PLUS snacks as well. It really limits the child on what to choose for his snack period and lunch period. I'll give 5 stars if they can change this!

Lo Lo Love it :). Great app! Saves us time and almost alway lunch pack comes back empty which is what i was looking for. Makes it fun for her to choose and its great that i can add her fav foods including even a picture. Keep it up guys!

Only 2 food groups?. There are proteins and fruits and veggies... What about dairy and grains? And the app is full if what I can only guess are ads for prepackaged foods. Great idea but not going to work for my family.

Overall a fun & useful app.... This will greatly ease some of the pain of packing lunches every day! Cute & simple interface, beautiful colors. A few more animations or images of the monster eating the lunch, or small awards for kids filling their box would be great. The kids find if fun so far; we'll see how long it lasts! A small suggestion for improvement - It would be REALLY helpful if I could permanently delete an item I've added, but no longer want. Or to be able to move it to a new category. ie: I accidentally put granola bars in the fruit category & there is no way to delete or move the item to the correct category. Otherwise, so far so good!

Pretty good. I really live this app and it’s really good, although... I would really appreciate if we were able to add other food items too. I hope they change that but other than that I do recommend getting this app!

Great app to engage the little ones. This app has a simple and clean aesthetic which makes it easy to use for kids and parents alike. My 4 year old just started kindergarten and this has made at least one part of the transition waaay easier than I anticipated. As part of our evening routine, we sit down, select what is going to go into her LaLa Lunchbox and than make and pack her real lunchbox together. What's great is that she is enjoying eating what she has helped assemble. If you are looking for an app to give guidance/direction on the food pyramid, or break items down into all possible categories (eg. Carbs, grains, starches etc...) this app will not meet those needs. It will however, provide parents (if they so choose) with a simple way to introduce and discuss the importance of proper nutrition with their young children. There are some nice additions and adjustments that can be made in the settings area which I suggest exploring and, if you have any comments or concerns, their email response time is AMAZING.

Great idea but flawed. How come I can only put six items in a lunchbox? This limit makes this app not very helpful. To bad because it is a great idea. There should be no limit but the ability to limit if chosen before giving to the child to fill out.

Closes when a name is Picked. The app worked great for about 3 days. My daughter was able to go in and choose her launches for 2 weeks. The first couple of days she could use the app to prepare her lunches, then is just started closing as soon as her name is picked.

Marketing tool, not a help for families. When I heard about this app I was excited, finally some fun ideas for the lunch bag. Sadly it is just a poor example of product marketing, I assume to be aimed directly at children. Sponsorship is a great thing, but this could have been a lot better if more creative combinations/recipes were offered, and you left the product placement on the sponsor boards. Deleted the app.

Making dreaded lunch planning easy. It’s the only app like it. You can plan with the kids, in a fun environment, what to pack them for lunch. figuring out what to make is always the most annoying part of making their school meals, and this app not only gets the kids involved (as we all know is vital to the success of the meal actually being consumed) but is a great planner that helps with checking what we already have and making that grocery list. With my child having a morning snack, a lunch and an afternoon snack that needs to be organized as such at this age, I originally found it restricting to organize. I sent an email to the support team to see if they could make it a little more customizable and not only did they respond within a few hours they also gave me a great idea on how to make the app work for me. Instead of using one monster for each child, we can use three monsters for each child. I label each monster ‘KidName Snack #1’, ‘KidName Lunch’ and ‘KidName Snack #2’ - that way the kids can choose an apple and granola bar for their morning snack, and cheese and celery sticks for their afternoon snack and I am clear on how to pack the bag. It’s a great idea and super helpful. Thanks for creating!

Exceeded expectations. Great app - makes planning and packing lunches for my 3 kids a lot more interactive and fun. Kids find it intuitive too (6 8 and 10 yrs old).

Flawless.. Generally, when you grab something from the appstore that's relatively new, you expect it to be good, and get better with updates. This is honestly the first app that I have EVER bought, which is perfect right out of the gate. It takes a basic idea, and adds in every feature you could possibly want or need. The UI is beautifully designed, and your kids will love picking out their own cute monster avatar. The interface is simple enough for any school-age child to zip through, without being dumbed down so that it's frustrating for adults to set up. Any feature that you can think of is already included, and the app even comes pre-loaded with food items so you can use it immediately. Not only can you optionally add Saturdays and Sundays to the week, but if you're super-organized, the app even allows you to plan lunches up to five months ahead. Everything is very intuitive, with options to pack the same lunch as the day before, or even share your lunch creations through e-mail, Twitter, SMS, or Facebook. Thinking farther ahead, you can add in a supervisor password to lock this feature, so your kids don't post to your networks without your knowledge. Once your lunches are planned, you simply switch to the "groceries" tab, and the app will even tell you what you need to buy, and in what quantities. There's really a ton of great features here, that make packing lunches a fun activity to do with your children, rather than a chore that you dread. Adding your own items? Let your kids take the pictures. There's really a LOT to explore here, and it's presented in a clean, very well designed package. bla bla lunchbox. This is the kind of app that makes me think that the app market has jumped the shark. Waste of time and money. On the flip side I think your friends and family have done a great job reviewing your app. Boo! Total waste of time! Overpriced... Next.

Great. This is a great app! I only have one problem, I can not delete or edit the lunchboxs and this makes it difficult to use. I need these problems to be fixed to give it five stars.

Not for my needs.. I wanted an app that I could preplan my meal n see what I have planned. This app goes by persons not days. It does work out for my needs.

We love La La Lunch box. My kids and I really enjoy using this app. I wish there were a way to include more of the foods the kids like and that we could add some of our own ideas for lunches.

Nifty. I wasn't sure what to expect but my six year old is totally into it. She thought it was very grown up to pick her own menu!

SO DUM. There is not a lot of food chooses you should be able to put in your own food not just choose things!!!! I tried to find a turkey wrap or anything like that but all I could find was a Salem and cream or something gross like that!! DON'T WASTE MONEY SAVE IT!!!!

Great. This is a great app! Is there a way that the kids could use the app on their phone, then mom and dad can see it on their phone?

Excellent! Packing lunches is so much easier.. Great concept and easy to use. You can add pictures of your own items also.

Helpful but limited. Great app for helping make the daily question of what to make easier but it does not refresh ideas so you could eventually tire of the options.

Pictures for added foods disappearing. I love this app, but recently all of the photos I've added for new foods disappear. Any idea when that will be fixed?
