Love the app!. I’ve been using 1-800 contacts for a while, and recently downloaded the app around a year ago. It’s super convenient to order my contacts in just a few simple clicks. They even send me reminders when my supply is low, based off of my purchase history. It’s very personalized and easy to navigate! I also love that although I never pay for expedited shipping, I almost always get my contacts less than a week after I ordered- sometimes a day or two afterwards! I have nothing but good things to say about this company!
Absolutely awesome. Their customer service is top notch. This company gets it. We’re millennials. We text. So 1-800-contacts communicates through text, and the most amazing thing about it is it’s not a bot. So you aren’t getting automated responses - a person actually texts you. I was able to get my order fixed while I was running errands - because I didn’t have to be on the phone, waiting on hold, playing phone tag, or anything like that. It was just so easy. I will forever buy contacts from this company.
Wonderful Customer Service. I am so impressed with the customer service of 1-800 Contacts. Recently, they helped me return unused contacts due to a prescription change and then also helped me with a recent prescription where the doctor hadn't filled in the information completely. There are several ways to contact customer service through chat, text, phone call, etc. I wish all companies had this level of high quality customer service! Amazing app. Super simple. I used an Rx and they verified with my doctor. Even when I didn’t have an Rx I was still able to get the prescription off the contacts I had with me and then they did the rest. They do have my brand. My prescription change so frequently so it’s nice to just be able to input the new info into the app and then let them handle the rest. Honestly I’ve been really happy with this app and I’ve been using for about 3 years. Ive never written a review before but I thought this one was necessary thanks for creating this app, it’s literally the most important app I have on my phone.
Now Way! FREE Rx recert!?!!! AWESOME. March 2019 I got an eye exam I got pushed into an expensive daily set of contacts that didn’t re-focus when I blinked By August 2019 i’m ready to go back to the contacts I love and it’s only been five months since I paid $150 for an eye exam and contact prescription, but they wanna charge me the same amount all over just to change from brand A (“Dailies” by ???) to brand B (“Proclear 1” by CooperVision) that I’ve use with them for five years. Customersupport gets on text with me at one 800 contacts and let me know that I can use my old prescription from 2017 and use the app to hold out my phone test my eyes and then get my old prescription recertified for absolutely FREE! This got done within an hour, waited around for another 15/20 minutes and it was recertified in my order was on the way. More than happy and thanks for saving me $150!
Lacks basic functionality. I tried to renew my prescription multiple times, and did not get a single notification. They took the money for the express exam and contact order, then three days later refunded it. Silence. I checked the app and it showed my order on hold waiting for an exam retake because there was an issue with my exam. I retook the exam, and the next day my order was cancelled without explanation. And not a single email the entire time. I’ve been ordering from them for years, and I can’t remember ever having problems like this before. I don’t know what’s changed, but I’m not wasting any more time on them when there are so many other options.
Returns take forever. Make sure you want to place your order because there absolutely no way to cancel your order. Then even though I returned the order immediately I had to call constantly I had to call and request to to get a credit even though I tracked the return & they had it back immediately but it sat there & until I bugged them to refund me, I had to call several times. Finally someone told me they would do a “courtesy refund” and then it would take 2 weeks to get the refund. Strange what kind of “courtesy” means we are slow so we will do YOU a favor? What?
Unbelievable experience, well done 1-800Contacts. It was an incredible experience. Every 1.5-2 years I go to 1-800Contacts to order contacts and it stinks when my prescription is expired and I have to book an appointment and go to an eye doctor during business hours and renew a prescription that hasn’t changed in 20 years. 1800c took the most friction in their process that most companies would say “I have no control over that” and solved it. I did an eye exam in my iPhone app at home at 8 pm and was done in 5 minutes! Hats off to the product people, really well done.
Excellent All-Around Service. I love that 1-800-contacts will take back unused contacts and either swap them out for others, credit your account, or just refund your credit card! I’m someone with older eyes that now require multi-focal contacts, and I’ve tried so many combinations of prescriptions and never had any trouble exchanging or returning. I’ve called and spoken to a live person and I’ve also done the on-line chat and I’ve never experienced any error or problem. I really recommend this website/company!
Faster than going to Walmart.. I normally go to Walmart to get my glasses and contacts. I have since I was taken off my moms insurance at 18(12 years ago). I got my first box of contacts within 2 days. I uploaded my RX from the previous Walmart eye care center, that was given to me a year prior, and they confirmed the RX within 30 minutes of me uploading the photo. It says that with the free shipping it will take between 4-5 days or so, nope, within two days I received my contacts from UPS. I just placed an order for colored contacts, I’m hoping this one will be fine and be sent and confirmed just as fast. So far I am very pleased with my first time using 1-800-Contacts the website and the app.
Contacts. I have always been so happy with this company, however a few months ago I ordered my contacts - thought they were right and wore them for months. I kept throwing them away bcs I thought they were dirty or something was wrong. Went through most of my boxes then reordered. When the next boxes came I noticed the prescription was different from the one I had been wearing as it turns out I couldn’t see well bcs they had sent me an old prescription and it wasn’t enough power. Long story short my eyes have been bothering me since then. I just had to have my power increased bcs my eyes are now even worse than before.. I’m giving them one more chance bcs mistakes can happen but I will definitely pay more attention and check them before I wear them.
Use Warby Parker. I used 1-800 contacts for quite some time without issue, however when my prescription expired they made the process for getting a new one much more difficult than it needed to be. I submitted my new prescription and ordered my pair. After not receiving them a week later I checked only to see that my prescription wasn’t verified and they needed me to take an on app eye exam that I had to pay for, without receiving notice for this. There is no option to cancel order. There as been so much unnecessary nonsense that has happened because of this. However I have started using Warby Parker to order my contacts which I pay less for the same pair.
App just got a little … less useful?. I've been using the iOS app since 2017. The most useful feature IMO -- the one I used at least monthly -- was the lens use tracker, which was removed in the latest update. I don’t recall the official name and all mention of it as been scrubbed, but it was a basically countdown that reminded users when to change out their lenses and how many remained before needing to reorder. Oddly, even though the feature is removed, I still received a notification on my iPhone yesterday about changing out my lenses ... but when clicking into the app, there is no longer a way to restart the countdown on the fresh pair. I do however enjoy other recent improvements and new features, like Express Exam! It’s not available in all states yet, but I’m from PA and it made renewing my Rx super simple. So not all change is bad.
BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE. Today I renewed my prescription via the virtual eye exam. It took only an hour to get the results!! I needed to change my order after the fact. I texted the number and the customer service I received was amazing! They upgraded my shipping and changed the order for me. I am so pleased with this company and will continue to use them for years to come. I’ve used them for about a year now and have been content with the service from the beginning. Knowing they were there for me today made me so happy and I felt the need to write this review to let y’all know. Thank you 1-800-contacts for the unparalleled customer service I received today!
BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE ANYWHERE!. 1800 Contacts went ABOVE & BEYOND to help me when I had a shady eye doctor who would only order ONE type of lenses from ONE company even when I told him the three month lenses he insisted I needed last time didn’t work after 3-4 weeks. Then when 1800 Contacts would try to call to get the prescription so THEY could help me, the Dr’s office would never answer the phone.I had to go to the Dr’s office & demand he give me my prescription. Even though 1800 Contacts doesn’t have samples, your eye dr is supposed to let you try samples until you find the ones that work for you... 1800 Contacts sent me 30 packs of MANY contacts knowing I’d be trying them out & sending the rest back until I found what worked for me. They were so wonderful! They have my ultimate respect and support. They are a fantastic company who really care about their clients. They deserve TEN STARS!
Charged me for nothing. I haven’t been to an eye doctor in a couple of years, but my contact lens prescription hasn’t changed and I have no problems with my eyes. After skeptically reading all of the positive reviews on the 1-800 Contacts online eye exam, I thought I’d give it a shot. They asked me a few questions, including when I last went to an eye doctor. The exam was very quick and easy. I had no problem reading the letters from 10 feet away. To my shock, they emailed me two hours later saying I’m overdue for a comprehensive eye exam and wouldn’t confirm or update my prescription, which still works perfectly. The best part? They CHARGED ME full well knowing I didn’t have a recent eye exam. That’s exactly why I did their eye exam. It was one of the questions I answered. But I got charged for NOTHING. What a scam and waste of money. They charge you for an exam. Tell you that you failed the exam, without explanation, except that you’re overdue for a “comprehensive” eye exam, which they already knew BEFORE I started the exam. I am very unhappy and will never use this site, app or service again.
Literally about to cry. I am not the best adult, I am super busy and constantly working with little to no time allowed off from my job. I’ve attempted to set up appts at my current optometrist’s office during lunch when I do have time and the wait time took so long I had to leave each time to go back to work. I only have one day off when they’re open and that time is spent either me sleeping the day away trying to recuperate my body through five days of non stop 12 to 14 hour shifts or cleaning the house to pick up after my family. Thank you guys so much. You have no idea how much you’ve helped with allowing the fast exam and ordering a subscription for my lenses. Seriously- thank you so much!!
Lost my business for life.. After receiving the wrong prescription, I understand that mistakes can be made. The person that I spoke with at the company, said it was my fault as I entered the presentation wrong. I asked them if they verified the prescription with the eye doctor, to which she said no, but then she said that they had the correct prescription in their system. I asked, do you not cross check and she said yes…meaning someone should have flagged the two not matching. Long story short, I simply asked for it to be corrected and for the correct version to be sent. It was a horrible customer service experience and she cut me off and just sent me instructions to return them. Wow! Lost a customer for life over a simple mistake that should have been caught my the company. Your loss.
Adulting made easy.. First time user — app was super easy! The best part was when I called in, got a representative right away (a REAL PERSON!!!) and she helped immensely. So happy I finally tried this app after always seeing the commercials. :) **edit; My first order came overnight shipping and everything was here timely, and packaged beautifully. No unnecessary air filled plastic space fillers either, which was another positive sign to me about this company :). A++, 5 stars, will use again and recommend!
Apple Watch support…?. I have been using this app for years; ordering and also keeping track of when I need to change to a new pair of contacts! I LOVE that tracking feature! But what happened to the Apple Watch app? It is just gone and no where to be found. This might prove to be a deal breaker for me as it was my favorite feature to quickly check when I needed to change my contacts on my watch! Is it really gone or am I just missing it somewhere???
First time ordering and I’ll never order anywhere else.. This is the first review I’ve ever written about anything. My optometrist gave me the wrong prescription and I ordered the contacts. When I got them I read the box and discovered the prescription was off. I called support and they contacted my optometrist, received a new prescription, and sent me the correct contacts with next day shipping for free. They included a return label in the box to return the wrong contacts for free. They did this all within an hour. Outstanding customer service.
Timely deliver, great customer service. I always receive my contacts in a timely manner. If there are any issues with my order (expired prescription, lens ordered that is not on prescription, etc.) the customer service reps call and explain the issue and offer any assistance they can in getting issue resolved so that order can go through. I have never had the wrong item delivered or issues with stock of my lens. Overall, very easy site to navigate, order takes mere minutes to complete.
Amazing Customer Service. I can’t say enough good things about 1-800 contacts! They answered my actual phone call immediately and took charge of my dilemma with my contact lens order. They went above and beyond and also offered a coupon for my purchase. An hour later, another problem arose with my eye doctors office and they texted me immediately. That was also quickly resolved! Review. Ive dealt with 1800 contacts for awhile, Their prices are dfinitely higher than the competition. As a matter of fact, You can find multitudes of companies that can best them in prices. Here’s why I pick 1800 contacts over the competition. 1. I put these things in my eyes, I want the best quality to interact with. 1800 has always sent clean and fresh contacts. 2. The communication is incredibly efficient and heart warming. Very much so they are very helpful with questions, concerns, and complaints. I always feel like an important client when I talk with their representatives. 3. I can rely on them. I need these things to work, drive, and live. I have seriously bad eyesight, it wont get better. I am comfortable this company will give me fresh uncompromised contacts to wear, to take care of sending my package in a timely fashion, and I can trust they will take care of my concerns. I would rather pay the higher price of 1800 because Of the quality of every aspect of their company, and the peace of mind that it provides. Go with them, they are a good choice.
Amazing app and customer service. So, I’ve read great things about this company, but having seen it firsthand today, I can say for sure this is the best customer service I’ve ever experienced. (Sorry, I didn’t get the employee name) I ordered my dailies (which were just added as an option last week!) hoping to get them before my upcoming trip. After receiving shipping confirmation from the app I checked the tracking section. In trying to track the package it wouldn’t show up on UPS website, so I text customer service right away. Mind you this is all done within the app. After the immediate automated response I was informed that my order was indeed on its way but because of the time constraint a second order would be overnighted to me, guaranteeing I’ll receive them before I head out. Very friendly and helpful staff here, I would recommend this app to everyone. As far as the app itself goes, it’s so intuitive and easy to use, a sure reflection of the helpful and knowledgeable staff. They contacted my doctor for my Rx confirmation. And just like that they’re on the way. A million thanks and kudos to 1-800 Contacts. Y’all are the best!
Best place to buy contacts. If you’re not using this app to buy contacts, it’s your loss. There’s ease of use, best customer service, quick delivery times and huge product selection. Will continue to use this to get my contacts. Thank you Allison for your help! It really is always a great experience with their customer service team. I will never talk as good about a company as I do with this company. I recommend it to all my friends.
Frustrating. Poor integration of customer account on app and website. One says one thing for products ordered and renewals. One says another. Continues to ba a problem they won’t address. The handling of your RX is maddening. You try to upload and it says it did. Only to get emails about how your order can’t ship until they can verify RX. Customer support is clueless and doesn’t solve the problem. Maybe another symptom of poor integration between info on app and website? On going problem. I just followed a prompt via email that literally stated my RX was on file and it was time to renew. The products were wrong in the “cart.” It says insurance benefit was applied but it doesn’t show up anywhere on the pricing or cost/charges recap that you press “ order” with. Then you get a message that the RX needs to be verified and you need to upload it (again). These problems continue and they must not care. Nothing ever gets fixed. So done with this lazy, poorly operated company.
So convenient. Living in a big city finding a good eye doctor that isn’t going to over charge you is like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. Last night at 10:30 PM I realized I had 1 contact left and that was for my right eye my left eye contacts were completely out. I panicked because I didn’t want to go to the eye dr and spend a fortune and when was I even going to have time!? So I decided to give 1-800-contacts a try and it was the best thing I ever did. I got to renew my prescription right on my phone and reordered contacts they shipped the very next day! I was just so happy I called my mom and told her she had to do it!
Easy button!!!. My script hasn’t changed in years! But my eye doctor insists on an annual check up. While that’s all fine, they refused to send me another pair of contacts just to get thru to an appointment that would fit my schedule (their next appointment was months away!!!) So I saw your commercial last night and figured I would try it. I would rather wait the 7 business days to get a pair of contacts than wait the months to pay for another unnecessary exam and then allowed contacts to see. A HUGE THANK YOU!!!
Great but not so great.. I have used 1-800 contacts in the past and have never had an issue. I tried ordering contacts and for some reason when I did my first order it would not let me update my eye doctor. I called to handle it over the phone. We went through the entire process of having to reorder the contacts with the right doctor information which really wasn’t a big deal. The part that I have an issue with is that the contacts that the person helped me reorder were completely wrong and not what I had originally placed. So now for a third time I am having to place an order and wait for money to be returned into my account and so forth. I don’t understand how he got it wrong from the information he originally had. It’s just a huge hassle and wish I had done it myself. I just thought maybe it would be easier to call. I was wrong.
1-800Contacts is AWESOME. I love the app, it’s so organized. I also love them as a company. I reached out to them about possibly price matching another website’s prices for my biofinity toric and regular contacts. And they absolutely price matched them! I got a 6 month supply of my lenses for $43. I could not believe how nice they were about price matching. They just gained a customer because their customer service is unmatched! They just shipped my contacts yesterday and they will be here Monday (and that’s with regular shipping speed!) highly recommend!
Downhill Fast. Years ago, when a lot of the positive reviews were written, they were great. I always had a high opinion of 1-800-contacts. Today that has all changed. I’m having the hardest time placing an order for contacts. Maybe it’s weird that I have two different prescriptions, one for extended wear clear contacts, and one for prescription colored contacts. They keep putting my order “on hold” and prompting me to take an express exam through then for $20. I don’t need it because my Rx was renewed last week. When I contacted them via text, they quickly assumed I was stupid and ordered the wrong contacts. I told them, no, that I actually had two prescriptions, then they said they had the paper but would verify no matter what ( ok, fine) but it was as if I was lying, even though I literally uploaded the thing three times. Very short w me and canceled the order per my request because I felt like they’d leave it languishing forever. My initial order worked just fine for whatever reason. I wonder if they think I’m lying since I was in a free trial with the colors when I ordered the extended wear. I don’t know. But they definitely treated me like they thought I was dumb.
No Feedback. Downloaded the app to try out their free promo for an eye exam. Had to upload my prescription 3 separate times for various steps (you really can’t reference the first upload and need it multiple times?) and the completed the exam … I think? It asked at the start if I was making an order or just taking the exam. I chose the latter … but then the exam just ended and I didn’t get any type of confirmation … no email, no status in the app, can’t find any info about the exam I just took. Despite saying exam only it immediately took me to an ordering page and added contacts to my cart. Dunno why they asked at the start of the exam if it doesn’t matter. Didn’t find this convenient at all and no idea if my exam is actually submitted and being reviewed. Rather just take the time to visit an actual doctor.
Amazing!. I usually call to order my contacts because this company has WONDERFUL customer service agents on the line that you never have to wait longer than 47 seconds to speak to and they are super friendly, answer all of your questions, very knowledgeable and helpful in providing you with the best offer and all available options and never pressure you one way or the other in buying products you’re not interested in (many companies try to upsell and make you feel guilty when you decline the offers), but I decided to order my contacts via the app this time! As predicted, everything on the app is user friendly— you can just take a picture of your prescription, enter your mailing info, and with just one click they’re ready to process your order and ship it out to you! I cannot say enough nice things about this company. My entire family orders contacts from them— very reliable and superb customer service!!!
Upgrades and loyalties?. I've been a customer for over a decade, and can't help but wonder where are the new colors this year? I've always been excited to see the newest additions of awesome looking pigments, and possibly lower prices on older items? Besides that, I have lenses I paid very good money for, that are stacked up in a drawer because I can't wear them. Same brand, same power, but are so uncomfortable or blurry that I cannot use them. I'm ordering the same amount listed for a discount, but because I'm getting them only for one eye, I don't qualify for a discount. And why is it that the last order, the lenses for my left eye were unwearable, but the other eye was fine? Can I still send them back? Nothing wrong with my eyes, the lenses for my left eye were bad.
1-800 Contacts Review. Prior to finding 1-800-Contacts, I had been purchasing my contacts from Walmart for years. (I didn’t know of this website/app or of any websites/apps like this one.) When I stumbled across 1-800 Contacts for the first time a few years ago, I was really happy to have found a much more easy and convenient way of getting my contacts. I love that their app stores my prescriptions for both glasses and contacts, reminds me of when I need to renew my prescription(s), as well as letting me know when I’m running low on my supply of contacts. They also offer many different brands of contacts, as well as other contact related items. The few times I’ve needed to speak directly to someone from 1-800-Contacts, their customer service was really nice, helpful, and patient. Overall, I’ve found 1-800 Contacts to be the best, and most convenient way to purchase contacts, keep track of prescriptions, etc. I highly suggest you give them a try, you won’t regret it!
Best contacts I’ve ever worn. I had my initial exam and visit at America’s Best and bro, it was so pricey. The exam on top of the contact subscription was expensive but then every year I had to go back in for a new $130 exam just to be told the vision in one eye changed ever so slightly and now I need all new subscriptions and that was the case. My friend told me about 1800contacts and it was a game-changer. The exam on my phone was super fast and only like $20 I think and then they updated my subscription and sent me a supply of contacts for way less. The best part was I didn’t have to pay for a yearly exam and the lenses they sent were way better than my originals! I had no blurriness or eye fatigue at all. I am so satisfied and highly recommend 1800contacts. Free shipping and such fast service.
So many glitches. There have been times I’ve waited to order contacts because the app is messing up. Today I placed an order and it kept changing my shipping address so I updated it three times to make sure it was right. It still placed under the wrong address so I had to call to get it fixed. Then I got the shipping notification and it apparently also changed the speed I selected so instead of getting the contacts in one day like I needed, now I have to wait for the slowest option and hope they’re here before I run out. This app makes ordering contacts a nightmare 8/10 times I order. We love the customer service with this company because they really are amazing but we’re so tired of having issues that make it where we have to call and deal with customer service in the first place.
App "SEEMED EASY" to use.... So I uploaded my new prescription and simple "added" my previous order, of two different types of contacts- a set of clear and a set of colored, to my cart and went to pay for it. The app said I didn't select a color. So I clicked around to find a way to chose the same as last time. Thought maybe I'd missed a step, so closed out the order and started again. Went thru and looked for the brand and style... Still no way to pick a color. So again, added previous order to cart. And didn't get the color selection error when I paid. So I assumed they would send turquoise, like I ordered last time. Or reach out if there was a question. But no. I paid $99 for each box... But got amethyst... Not green. Purple. So while the app seemed easy and convenient, I later found they were highly over priced and not all that user friendly.
Exceeded Expectations. I rarely write reviews, but this app really exceeded my expectations. It was super user-friendly. I did have to call in (twice actually😬) to ask a question about insurance...and then later because I didn’t choose expedited shipping like I’d wanted. Both times that I talked to their customer service they were excellent! Both team members were extremely polite and eager to help. The whole process was so smooth and my contacts came exactly when promised. In hindsight I wish I’d written down the names of who I spoke to so they could be recognized. Three members of my household wear contacts. I know where I will be purchasing them in the future.
unreliable pricing. If you order from here be prepared to be bombarded with telephone calls, emails and texts, whether you unsubscribe or not. Not only that but use multiple searches/engines to find better prices for their products because they change prices depending on how you look for something before getting to their site. I found the same contacts with over a $20 price difference per box (all from 1800contacts, exact same contacts) depending on how I looked it up online. I brought this up when I was given a survey about my order. I stated that it an inconvenience to feel like the prices were inconsistent and something that made me weary that I was not dealing with a company I could fully trust. I was honest thinking the feedback could be helpful or at worst, ignored. Apparently I was wrong. I was sent back a passive aggressive email from customer service (that I personally never reached out to or needed a response from the survey) with a condescending undertone in reply that -I got the best deal and a coupon I used shouldn’t have worked for me in the first place so I was basically somehow in the wrong and I was untrustworthy not them. Why would a coupon go through if it wasn’t supposed to? Really, 1800contacts? I will never give money to a company that could not possibly care less about their customers other than getting a sale and go out of their way to have to be “right”. I had to block them because the calls and messages wouldn’t stop after I unsubscribed from everything. I will never use their business again and would double check what your getting and for how much if you choose to use them.
Incredible customer service!. I’ve used this app for almost 6 years, and I love it, it’s very east to use and my contacts always arrive in 2 days. whenever I need to talk to customer service it’s always fast, polite, and helpful. I just used the app to update my prescription and it was very easy! Unfortunately, my most recent order got delivered to the wrong house by USPS, (because of the holidays I’m assuming) I contacted customer service and they immediately shipped me a new box. I’ll be a lifetime customer of 1-800 contacts!
Awesome ordering from 1800-Contacts. Super-super easy!! Forgot password, no problem! They make it so easy to get back into your acct. new prescription? Not on file yet? Rep will contact your eye dr. Once it’s in their system. They actually follow up, friendly rep leaves message that you’re good to go! Maybe you don’t check your voice messages....thats ok! Bc they also leave you an email. I’ve compared prices and they are pretty much the same. But 800 wins me over bc of the free shipping & the no need to speak w a person to reorder.
Fails to show you the expiration date of your prescription!. While they send you plenty of emails telling you that “your prescription is ending soon,” NOWHERE in the app can you find the ACTUAL expiration date of your prescription! So those unhelpful emails just look like spammy marketing emails. Wanted to order some new contacts soon but missed the deadline by A FEW DAYS because I was having surgery. Hey 1-800 Contacts: if you showed us the actual expiration date I could’ve ordered before having surgery. Now I have to wait until I can afford both the Dr visit and the contacts before buying new ones. My eyes will be killing me until then. Major failure on the part of the app creators. Otherwise I would’ve given 4 stars.
Eye exam warning. I do have a complaint about this app that I wish wasn’t there. Before letting you make a purchase for your contacts, I wish it would tell you you needed an exam first or maybe don’t let you buy the contacts at all until you re take your exam. I used the only money I had left and it totaled the amount for my contacts and after i purchased it i got notified I need to take the 20$ eye exam which I didn’t have money left for. I canceled it right away and still waiting for my money back but it would have been more convenient to know I had to re take the eye exam first, use my money on that, and then get my contacts because now I have to wait to take my exam. Don’t know if I can wait either, might go somewhere else in person because of this mismatch.
Extremely happy!. The app is easy to use and my first order arrived two days after being shipped. Their customer support was fast, friendly, and helpful. I have rather poor eyesight and had to go to a new optometrist for this checkup because the covid-19 had most businesses closed. The optometrist botched the exam and gave me a prescription that was too high and for a brand I didn’t want. Then they kept trying to push expensive ($800-$1500) lenses on me. 1-800 contacts was very helpful in getting me the correct lenses and their prices are way better than any local place. I plan on using their in-app exam next time and saving lots of $$$ on an optometrist. I would recommend this service to ANYONE.
Best Customer Service I’ve Ever Received. I accidentally put the wrong city as my address when buying some contacts (I recently moved) and immediately called 1-800 Contacts. I honestly just expected to leave a voicemail, but instead I was greeted by an actual person! I do not know her name, but she was so nice. She not only changed my address, she gave me a better deal, and expedited my shipping. The email address I used was my school email address and it had expired, and she even helped me change that! I am just shocked! What amazing customer service. She was not only kind and helpful, but also incredibly knowledgeable. I have never received such amazing customer service over the phone. I will definitely tell everyone to shop 1-800 Contacts and that’s the only place I will be getting my contacts. Please give this woman a raise!
Be careful letting them look at your prescription to order for you.. I ordered a years worth of contacts from 1-800 contacts. I opted for them to fill out my prescription as that is what they recommended so your order gets filled faster. I had to contact them about the status of my order and only then did they tell me it was on back order for 2 more months. I had no more contacts. I finally get the order which did come a bit earlier than the 2 months; however, the left eye was extremely blurry. I realized that they sent me the wrong axis for my left eye and it didn’t match my prescription. When I called they said I can’t get the replacement for another 2 months. The best they could do is send a “hand written apology letter and a $10 coupon”. This isn’t worth any bit of price savings. Won’t be buying from here again. They had quick responses from customer service which is the only reason I gave them an extra star.
Time Saver!. I’ve been using this service for years and have to say it has been such an asset to me. I started out using 1-800’s online services back in 2011 or so. With my first order back then, I remember thinking to myself that the stress free offer was likely too good to be true and somewhat expected that there would be trouble with the prescription or delivery but—nope! Every order has been filled, delivered and appropriately billed as expected, on time, every time. Its a terrific service that’s been around for a while now—only made better by the App!
Do yourself a favor and avoid this. I figured I’d try this app out to expedite getting contacts— I couldn’t express my regret in that choice more. I entered the prescription, paid for it, then they could verify my prescription since they had the wrong location on file. I decided to cancel the order, then two days later they debited my account anyway and are telling me there is a 30 day hold on the funds. What’s the point of having my enter my prescription when they couldn’t verify it properly to send me contacts in the first place? It’s been about a week and a half now and all I’m left with is a 30 day hold on my bank account. I wasn’t using insurance either, so I paid out of pocket. I will NEVER recommend this company nor use their services again. All it did was cause me more problems than I started with. My suggestion is to just use your doctor and not this ridiculous company.

Great for Canadians. I have been using this company for years. You do no need you Rx if you are Canadian. I live in Ontario. They are friendly and stand behind their products 100 percent!
Do not use if you’re from Canada. These people are a disaster. They charge you in USD without telling you, then send you a return label that doesn’t work outside of the US (even though they say they know their labels don’t work outside of the US…… so why send it at all?), make you pay for return shipping on your own, then send you a cheque that’s impossible to cash outside of the US. There are tons of other sites you can buy contacts from that actually charge you reasonable prices and don’t make your life difficult. And why does this app want so much of your data?
Geographically Challenged. For some reason it doesn't accept Ontario as a place outside of the United States. There's no option for Canada or any other areas that aren't in America which is absolutely annoying and inconvenient. I used to love this. I used to love this app & the convenience of having my contacts purchased & shipped with a touch of a button but last 4 orders the app stopped accepting the reorder button option or inputting a new prescription to complete the order. I’ve had to call to get my order in & every time I asked about the issues with the app they say they don’t know & everything looks fine from their end! It’s not convenient anymore so looking at other options.

Save money and time !!. After being charged almost $450 from my last exam and year supply of contacts from my optometrist, I thought I would try 1-800 contacts and it’s much more affordable! I only paid $170 for a year supply and don’t have to pay outrageous exam amounts every year. They just call my optometrist to make sure the prescription matches and send me more! Very hassle free and the app works well.

Please Bring Back Lens Gauge!!!. Why would you get rid of lens gage!? It was by far the most useful “side benefit” to your app. I can always just use the site on my browser to order contact, but the lens gauge made the app for me! I don’t know why you would even get rid of it; was there a poll to see if customers used it or not, and it said they didn’t? I don’t see how that’s possible! Please! Bring it back! Otherwise the app is just a wast of space on my iPhone, since I order all contacts at once for a year’s worth. 🙁

Good app, great service. The app works great, so easy to order contacts. I have had to contact customer service a couple of times because my address didn’t update on my subscription and it got sent to the wrong place. Their customer support has been outstanding both times I’ve had to talk to them. Would definitely recommend!
Consistently great. Somehow a new box ended up at an old address I’ve never had them sent to before so I decided to call (available 24/7) and see what they could do for me. Order Error and bad customer service. On our recent order it errored out, so we tried again and it worked, but it turns out they charged us twice. We immediately chat online with someone and they tell us they will cancel the duplicate order. The order never gets cancelled and they send us a duplicate order that we NEVER approved. We chat again with an online employee and they say we have to return it to get a refund. I tell them it was their mistake and they leave the live chat. Rude and awful customer service.

It’s so much better because their prices are lower, there are rebates and discounts, the layout of the app is aesthetic and user friendly, the Rx verification is lightning fast if you upload a picture of your prescription, you decide the shipping method, and you can get tracking updates easily. It’s a no brainer!
100% reliable company. I’m always skeptical about companies like this. I do my research before ordering. I can say after using them for over one year they are 100% reliable!! And yes 100%.. I’ve placed at least 7 orders and every order is correct and ships fast. I’ve never had a problem with getting my prescription verified either. THE BEST. Been ordering for years, in just a few clicks boom, you’re done! Every chore we have to do should be so easy. They have even shipped out when I needed it but I was having problems with my Dr’s office verifying Rx just so I would not be out of contacts while they straightened out the paperwork side. Amazing. This company has an amazing customer service, I have never experienced a great service like this before. Everyone of them was very helpful and didn’t stop trying to help me get my prescription renewed and order my contacts on time since I was going on vacation and had a very limited time to order it. They got it all done for me. I really appreciate it.
Get ready for a major headache. First and foremost the software barely works, they insist on charging you $20 for a mobile eye exam for each order even if you upload the prescription, scan your box of contacts, time for another $20 mobile eye exam, only for them to email you the order won’t complete, so you have to call them to sort it out, at which point they charge for the whole order again, but assure you the money they took right away will be refunded in 3-10 business days. A $40 box of contacts shouldn’t cost $280. They are scam artists, avoid at all costs.
Exceptional. Easy to use, never go to the eye doctor again. Take a test in the app, get a prescription in less than a week. If you have any problems call the number and a human will answer and politely help you. This company consistently provides excellent customer service and provides a simple solution to the eyecare issue. I’ll never go back
Excellent App & Customer Service. The app is incredibly easy to use. I was already logged in and had a new prescription. Essentially, all I had to do was snap a photo of the box and click order. So easy! I wish all apps were this easy to use! Also, they have always had amazing customer service in the many years I’ve been ordering from them!
Customer Service. I ordered contacts from this app and had the wrong address down. After I found out I had the wrong address my contacts were allready being shipped back so I called customer service and they next day shipped them for free! My mistake and they fixed it! Best company!!!. 1-800-contacts is my favorite company for their customer friendliness. If you call them, a real and friendly human being will answer the phone and help you. If you do not use up all your contacts and need a new prescription, they will let you return the unused contacts and get your money back. They provide customer service 24-7.
Pleasant shopping experience BUT. Overall I enjoy using the app for the streamlined purchase experience and ability to use Apple Pay. One thing I would like to see implemented is the ability to search for or link your insurance provider so that benefits can be used and included when you purchase contacts instead of having to chat with a representative. Overall though the app is great!
Best place to buy contacts from!. Before I knew about 1800 contacts I would buy them at my local eye doctor clinic but it was so expensive, luckily I found this app and decided to give it a try! And OMG I loved it! Safe exact contacts for much much cheaper price! With the money i was spending ordering my contacts at my doctors office I can easily order me twice the amount of contacts here! Highly recommend!
Super easy. Makes ordering my contacts super easy. After your first time ordering all your information is saved, like prescription and payment info, so the next time you order you don’t have to re-enter everything. I just ordered more contacts in less than 1 minute! I just opened the app on my phone, selected what I bought last time, and DONE!
Cumbersome, incoherent app. When I go to “prescriptions,” it gives me three options: To upload it, enter manually, or to take a photo of the side of a box of contacts. Hey, what about that prescription I just did through you guys online? Is that anywhere? Also, do you guys have any contacts beside aquasoft and my orders from last year? I messed around with the app and eventually got in my shopping cart the contacts I wanted. I’ll see if these aquasoft reps will send them to me. No thanks to the least intuitive shopping app I’ve ever used.
Contacts. Obviously these folks (company) rocks BUT would like to see them sell the different eye color, eye Halloween style contacts as well. There are a lot of people who like to switch up their eye color or eye contacts that coincide with different holidays (Halloween, St. Paddy’s day, etc) as opposed to going to a “no name distributed,” for those types of festive contacts. 1800 get it together, you’re missing out on revenue……
Very convenient!. Appreciate the convenience to order contacts via my phone when I need it. I’ve talked to a customer service rep from time to time and they are always courteous and helpful. I haven’t chosen the auto order because I get a broken lens at least once a week on the “Focus” brand. I think it’s time for a change. Therefore, I chose the Aosoft brand to try for free for 2 weeks. Contacts purchase. It’s very convenient and easy. I have insurance I was able to order my contacts without a hassle. With the the app it was super easy. I didn’t have to give elaborate info just basic info like my name and DOB. They look up your vision insurance and automatically apply it. That quick and easy!!
Don’t do it. They sent me the wrong lenses. Then I caught an error in the replacement before it shipped. Then the return instructions said to put it in the mailbox but the mailman left it an wrote in the box “I’m not ups”Then I tried to go to the ups store but they’re only open while I’m at work. To get a pickup from ups I have to pay to ship them. So I contacted customer service and they told me that I have 30 days to find a time to ship them back before they will charge my credit card and didn’t even respond to me after that. They have more than eliminated all of the cost and time savings of buying online.
Great customer service. These people are wonderful from end to end. Because I've been a customer without a return ever, they flat out mentioned their "100% guarantee policy," since they were worried I didn't know I could do that. I get annoyed speaking to other customer service lines since they have no authority to do anything. Not here. Customer for several years, still happy. And the app is just as responsive too
Worth it. Excellent customer service. There was hardly wait when I called in to get some information about my prescription. I ordered my contacts Tuesday afternoon, and they were delivered in less than 3 days. I also utilized the free eye exam that they offer online. It is so simple and easy to use, all you need is a computer and a phone. Definitely one of the most seamless processes I’ve gone through in a while.
Do not order here!. I am so disappointed! I ordered a contact lens that supposed to be deliver in 3 days .they ask fo a delivery fee for so it will be here in 3 days . I wasted my time waiting but they didn’t deliver on time! What’s the use in paying for an express delivery if it won’t deliver ! It’s all fake advertising! I tried to contact their costumer service but all she said was sorry that happened and will give me a refund! I don’t need a refund I want them to deliver my contact lens on time because I need my contact lens . I can’t drive without them! I can’t go do work!!! This is so inconvenient!!!!!!!!
So much worse than actually going to an eye doctor. My husband used their online eye exam a month ago, and it was fine, so I tried it today. They’ve completely changed it, adding unnecessary things that don’t work. I tried again and again and it kept timing out, rejecting my exam, etc. Finally i tried the app, and the exam worked much better—EXCEPT now they won’t give me my prescription unless I order contacts from them and they charge twice as much as my usual supplier. I’ve seriously spent at least an hour and a half on this today. Waste of my life. Don’t bother.
Hard to see with blue color micro font.. Micro font in light blue, not helpful. When you get down to needing to see the difference accuvue moist vs accuvue moist multi focal you can’t see to review your order because the multifocal part doesn’t appear-even though they used a micro font with lighter blue color. Trying to tell the difference is impossible. Why is it I end up getting an email telling me they cancelled my order cause it was not what was prescribed. Why allow me to order something that was not prescribed? DUH!
Easiest way to order contacts. I love how sometimes they have promotions in the app, so you have to be in the lookout for that. Also, the company always verifies your prescription information at wherever place you last got your eye exam, so have a paper copy of that if you are a first-time user of the app. I prefer to order them here than to have a sales person trying to sell me something I don't need. 1800 contacts is amazing. I’ve been ordering from 1800 contacts for years!! I absolutely cannot say enough good about this company! They always always safely but quickly verify with the patients eye dr on updates prescriptions and then get order sent right out to you! I’ve seriously never once encountered an issue with them! Great discounted prices and all around my favorite
Amazing Customer Service. I came to them with the issue that my eye doctor wrote my prescription wrong and they took the original contacts and replaced them with the correct ones once I fixed the issue on my end. Their customer service is awesome and they didn’t charge me anything for sending me new contacts. I 100% recommend this company to anyone who needs glasses or contacts
Best Customer Service Out There. I will use 1-800 contacts the rest of my life. In 2012 I accidentally ordered 10 boxes of contact solution (hit refresh too many times). They refunded my money and let me keep the shipment. It was hassle free and I greatly appreciated their customer service. They lost money by my mistake but have made a lot of money from the loyalty they earned that day! Thanks 1-800!
Everything’s going to be alright. I understand, some times contacts…just, don’t always work. There not for everyone…..but, there is hope! 1-800 contacts, does offer a wide variety of contacts as well as a wide scope of other products out side of lenses. Truthfully, to be able to get lenses ordered at your door within 15 min of your own time…..an have tons of options… It’s really nice!
Lousy app. This app needs some serious updating or something because every time I try to reorder my contacts it says there is something wrong and I couldn’t reorder my contacts and I have to start my order again from scratch. And then when I do order from scratch the app defaults to me ordering 12 boxes of Aquasoft which I never order and don’t ever plan on ordering. I only want to order the brand that I want not the brand that 1800Contacts want me to order. I feel like this app is desperately trying to push me to order a whole bunch of contacts that I don’t want.
The BEST customer service!. 1-800 Contacts is unmatched when it comes to customer service. I called because I had a question and they were able to solve my problem in under one minute & place my order for me. The customer service rep was so friendly and pleasant. It was amazing. I recommend them to anyone needing to buy contacts!
Hiding the Lens Gauge, really?. Somewhere along the way either the designers or business owners totally lost sight of the REAL day to day use of this app. Sure, it’s very good for buying lenses. But that’s something customers buy annually or at least several months at a time. For those of us still wearing MONTHLY lenses— we want to check the LENS GAUGE. We’re using that for several months (up to a year) between purchases. That frequently used feature is now buried on the hamburger menu with eight other options. It used to be on the Home Screen or even tab bar at the bottom. Those of us who rely on the gauge can hope that someone will come to their senses and restore the gauge to the Home Screen somewhere.
Disappointed. I have ordered contacts from this company now a twice. Both times I paid the extra money for next day delivery, however I did not receive my contacts until 3-4 days later. I just think that if a company offers fast delivery or next day shipping, especially for such a steep price then my order should be delivered when expected.
When it works, it’s great. Half the time I try to use this app, I get an error message that tells me to call a 1 (800) number instead. This means that I can’t even use the contact lenses gauge function, which is the primary reason I have this app, since I only order once or twice a year. That being said, the functionality is solid, and the services that this company offers is nice. They’ll even call your eye doctor to confirm / correct your prescription before you order
Frustrated every step of the way.. I put in an order, attached prescription, and paid. They advertise it being that simple and it never is. Got an email that product was back ordered, and a call that my prescription needed to be updated. 1. I got a prescription from an eye doctor in 2023. They really pushed me to get the eye exam (which you need the contacts to do). Texas state law says 1-2 years, plus in the advertisement for the express exam, they say the 12 month prescription thing is a MYTH, so they really just want to charge you another fee as a step in the process to pay for their exam. Even if I had I still wouldn’t have gotten my back ordered contacts. 2. Product wasn’t back ordered, customer service rep confirmed the larger quantity was available. All the stuff comes in intervals of 30, so really it was just in bigger boxes that they didn’t want to break into smaller boxes. If you’re a business that advertises customer service and ease, be that.
Filled with bugs. Originally, I had a hard time accessing my account. Once the app finally let me log in, it gave me a headache trying to submit my prescription. The prescription page kept on asking for my doctors information but didn’t give me a place to log the information. Now, I’m having a hard time submitting this dang review because all the nicknames in this world are taken.
