Doesn’t work. This is probably the biggest disappointment.... How could such a large company like Sony produce such a horrible app that doesn’t work. It’s almost like Sony is playing a horrible joke for 2020...

Custom Audio fail. Unable to really control it conveniently. It is easier to just use the pandora app or your own music player. I would not recommend this app until that issue is fixed. iPhone 5

Terrible app needs to be updated. This is an awful app that is required to operate your stereo head unit. Now that I’ve updated my iOS the app won’t even open because it’s not compatible. Get your act together Sony, you’re embarrassing yourselves

Update. Give us an ipad version!! This could be a great app but sony does not seem to care!!! There is a whole sect that integrates iPads in cars with this app.. Myself included and you are going to miss the boat! Icon update....seriously!

Please fix and update the app. Just recently bought a new Sony double din head unit and wanted to try this app on my IPhone 7 Plus to control everything from the app. The only thing shows on the app is the maps. Tried everything to make it work, no success. Please fix.

Two thumbs down Sony!. Pretty sad when you buy a Sony radio and a factor is that it has app control only to find out they don’t update the app and that it does not work with IOS11! Sony you don’t even deserve one star for this!

Well-designed, clean & effective. I really like this application. Personally I would never have bought a SONY head unit; the previous owner of my truck installed it. I exclusively purchase ALPINE mobile media hardware. I found out about this application by accident and I enjoy its functionality. It is worth noting that I use iOS 9.3 because I can't stand iOS 10 or 11. Whether it is because of this or something else that I haven't had the issues other people speak of, I do not know, but if you use older iOS like I do you should have no problems.

Nothing but Map. I just downloaded app to use for car stereo I just got today and the only icon is the Map. Nothing else there. No settings. Doesn't work at all. I have IPhone 7.

Needs More Work. It amazes me how ignorant SONY is in regards to this app. I mean you have pretty much everyone asking for an iPad version, but you insist on not even attempting it. Not even an response for it. Update: Really?!?! All of these people giving Sony valuable advice on how to make this app better, and what do they do?!?! Icon Update!!!!! C'mon!!!! iPad needs it's own version! Get with it Sony! At this point, I'm waiting for another company to come around and do it right. Seems this will happen before Sony gets it right.

Abandoned. Sony abandoned this app years ago. It's an embarrassment that it is still available. The last update killed it dead. Roll back to a version that worked, fix it, or delete this mess from the app store.

Please Update App. App needs to be updated to be visually comparable with latest iOS. Also, buttons such as: preset stations, seek, tune, volume, am/fm would be very helpful (current controls don't work). The ability to rename sources would also be nice. Possibly add some additional app integration for new poplar apps. Thank you.

Pandora horrible. It will play from pandora but it locks it out where you can’t change pandora stations. It’s very frustrating to say the least. Please fix this.

Need updated ASAP!. Really still not updated for iPad, ind still looks horrible!!!! This app needs to be updated! It needs iPad UI support. Also needs the option to control pandora on the device when it's plugged in for remote app. Also make it so that when you hold done the call button it activates Siri or google now automatically. The point is to make safer, so you don't have to look at or touch your phone. Just use the remote.

Ipad Version please. Sony you’re letting us down. This app has great potential but you have been paying a deaf ear to all the reviews and suggestions from your customers. iPad version please.

Is this real?. I downloaded it and tempered my expectations but wow... there is no content. It’s just a link to open the maps app on iPhone. Must not be a priority. Meanwhile my movie is endlessly looping on the menu. Would it hurt to have put a play button on the Sony bluray player as well?! I guess these guys are not that concerned with using their hardware. I’ll look elsewhere next time I’m purchasing.

Garbage !!. Complete garbage if you have iPhone don’t batter save you money don’t by xav 602 bt radio don’t work with iPhone with this app or without .after waiting 3 years for upgrade still don’t work will never buy SONY again !!!!!

Sony update iOS 11. Don’t update to iOS 11 if you rely on this app for your car radios. It will not work. This is a good app, if only Sony would spend the time to update it. People use this with their phones and iPads. Even their newer radios use this app. Come on Sony update this app ASAP. Updated to work with iOS 11 It works, could use some updates to fix some things. But works with iOS 11, you can finally update your iPhone or iPad.

Don't buy SONY! No support. Looks like this app is completely useless now with the latest updates of iOS. The app crashes completely so you can no longer use it. This makes my iPad dash install completely useless with the Sony head unit. Have to look for a completely new system because of Sonys negligence.

Not as bad as people say. I just had the stereo installed and found the app to be ok, sparse, yes, could have more options, yes, but very functional, does all I need, great equalizer and sound options, really love the positional function which optimises sound for where you are sitting. I wasn't expecting much but am happy with it, considering they had to write an app for a competitors hardware when it's designed for their phone I think you have to expect it to be on the sparse side.

I've struggled with the stereo and the app. I love the idea and functionality this app provides, when it works. Ever since upgrading from my iPhone 5 my Sony stereo periodically says my 6, and 6s are incompatible. This app did wonderful things, setting the time on my stereo, allowing easy setting changes for bass, treble etc. As of iOS 11 it will be completely disabled because it has never been updated from 32 to 64 bit. Please Sony, take a few moments to make this app work again.

What a joke. Just downloaded the App because my in trailer Sony radio stated that I could control it. HA! Only menu items we Maps and Pandora. No equalizer control, no tuner control and etc. Most of my home equipment is Sony, but it is probably my last. Sony get your act together.

Well, it's an app.... The GUI needs an update. It looks and feels like something that was done as a class project. The interface between my iPhone 4S and later my 5S is not terrible but there are issues where I think the app is overriding the stereo front panel button commands

Good app. It's a good app but needs to be updated. I used to have all functions on iOS 8 but when updated to iOS 9 those functions disappeared. Sony update your app!

Dead... like all things Sony. Sony has gone way down hill since the 90’s. The only thing they do well are TV’s, stereos, and cameras... even then any software you may use or customer support is junk... they still have decent hardware regarding their suppliers. This app won’t work with my iPhone 11... neither Bluetooth or USB

Doesn't work well with latest iPhone updates. This app worked pretty well when I switched to my iPhone 6. Much better than my 4s. Now, since the last two or so iPhone updates the app doesn't work well. It doesn't pickup my Sirius radio and crashes when playing Pandora. I dropped my original rating from 3 stars to 1 because there have been zero improvements or updates to this app for way to long. Sony doesn't appear to be supporting this anymore so I'd suggest looking at a different system that doesn't use this app for stereo and phone control in your car. It's too bad because it was cool while it lasted. Now I'm considering another system but not a Sony.

Update the app. Sony, please get on the ball and update this app. You continue to sell hardware which relies upon the use of this app, yet the app is incompatible with iOS 11. Not very fair to your customers to make us sacrifice security to use your products. No wonder you got pwned by DPRK!

SERIOUS NEED OF UPDATE!!!!!!. I can't express how much I love the idea behind this app; however, I am completely frustrated with the quality of operation this app has to offer. It constantly crashes, often doesn't even connect to or register that it's connected to the stereo via USB, and LACKS DESIGN FUNCTIONALITY... Come on Sony!!!! How do you guys keep coming out with NEW app remote compatible stereos, when you guys can't even UPDATE YOUR APP!? I realize this is a review and not a complaint, but I can't resist... I got this app for the sake of using it for my iPad stereo conversion and I can't express what a buzz kill this was upon completion of my project One Suggestions I must make is a stationary volume knob, not something I have to search for.. For those of you considering this for an iPad project, I suggest you look into Scosche controlFREQ... It's not exactly Sony brand; however, they at least have better reviews. I'm most likely switching because of the lack of quality in this app... Way to drop the ball Sony!... =(

Ready to return receiver. I just installed a Sony receiver and I was hoping this app would help with functionality but it hasn't. I can only have maps on the home screen. Don't bother changing settings because it doesn't work. Very disappointed with Sony on this one.

Why Sony. You sure make it hard to love you, and I've been a high end, loyal Sony visa Rewards member for 17 years. It's either your prices for good products, or your failure to support all products and consumers. So disappointing...

Dr.. This app has a lot of potential. A lot of people around the world expect iPad version of this app. EQ and Volume buttons must be fixed since they are visible on the pictures but not in the app.

Wasted opportunity. The first impression I get is that this app is simple to use, but in reality it’s cumbersome and somewhat confusing to use. I agree with most reviewers; it urgently needs an update. But I’m not holding my breath.

Is not 64 bit compatible so it won’t work on newer IOS. Sony hasn’t updated this to work on 64 bits rendering all radios that used the app unable to talk with the app. They haven’t posted an update in many years. I won’t buy a Sony radio again. Maybe a class action suit will make them do something.

Don't even bother.. By far the worst thing I've seen Sony put out. Removes your controls on pandora freezes the radio up I just had to re download to get my reciever off of the "remote" setting.

UPDATE NEEDED AGAIN. Someone needs to keep up with the smart phone updates! The app freezes up mid use. Restarting everything doesn’t work! The app is a good concept but is completely ineffective when not maintained! Dev or Sony or whoever, get it together!

I take the last review back. Actually just got to plug it in via a USB cord for the equalizer and fade control to work. Have a sony receiver on my boat. With a powerful stereo system. Nice way to control the subwoofer base especially. Just wish Sony had a better manual with instructions. Always have to figure this stuff out trial and a lot of errors.

Terrible app. Marketing gimmick more than anything.. This 'updated in 2014' app proudly states that it's for iOS 5 and 6 devices. In 2014? It's blatantly obvious that neither Sony nor any other car audio manufacturer is serious about digital media and smartphone integration. They all market their outdated, terribly designed products to get you to buy their wares and then leave you practically stranded. There's no point to this app. Don't waste your time.

bad. I recently purchased a Sony Radio for my vehicle. I purchased it due to the price and all of the different things it did for the price. Upon installing it I really liked it and still do. I just do not like the fact that it says it’s compatible with an iPhone app but the app is terrible. All I have on mine is the “maps” tab that opens the Apple Maps application. It never connects to my radio with Bluetooth nor USB iPhone charger. Radio is great don’t get me wrong, really works well with the Alpine and Kicker speakers I have, but the app needs to get fixed or they shouldn’t be advertising it as app compatible.

Works, but NEEDS update!!!. This app works but is very rough around the edges. I hope that Sony plans to update the app and take all these reviews into account: 1) include EQ Options (shown in the screenshots but not actually an option in the app) 2) make an iPad interface!! 3) more intuitive volume controls Come on Sony!

Has potential, but falls short. I'd give this one star, but it somewhat works. I see a lot of potential in the app, but it seems somewhat incomplete right now. There isn't an EQ option, at least not on the iPhone 5 with my head unit (Sony WX-GT80UI). Which is disappointing to say the least. The swiping to skip tracks seems reversed to me. I'm used to swiping the other direction to go to the next track. If they were to update this app it would really be much more useable. Make the EQ work. Have a volume control in all screens of the app too. Update: the app got updated. What was the big update you ask? A new icon. 😐 They should've addressed the things previously posted in the reviews. Come on Sony. Get it together.

I-phone 6 / 6 plus update needed. I purchased this radio then updated my phone, now I can't use the app. Pleaseeeeeeeee update the app.

Solution if buttons don't work . Works!. My buttons didn't work on my Sony radio. I downloaded this ap thinking it was going to be a wasted effort. Thank you for fixing my radio. Such a great ap. I recommend the aux cord as your best option on the ap.

Wastes time trying to be my phone when it should control the stereo. Well. It tries to do all the things I don't need. I don't need an app to control my phone since I'm actually using my phone to control the app. The music player is particularly awful What it needs to do is stop trying to be my phone and instead give me menu control of the stereo. The fact that I have to use a remote and read a single line lcd screen on the stereo is STUPID! This app could be so cool but is a complete dud! I guess it might've cool if I listened to FM radio. Such a disappointment

Help!. Had this app for a month intending to use it but NO IDEA how to connect it to my stereo? Someone please help me!! It is definitely Bluetooth enabled - I'm pretty techy and know what I'm doing with most of this stuff - but can't work this stupid thing out!

Shameful. I'm glad Sony finally updated this. But totally shameful they left people with non working car stereos for like 4 months. Everyone knew for years that 64 bit was coming and mandatory.

I'm sorry but is this suppose to be useful?!?. I'm testing out the software as I'm planing to buy the car receiver, but all I get is 3 icons on my homescreen: Pandora, Spotify and Maps. Where are all the other features?? Pointless app. Maybe I won't buy the receiver after all...

Why bother writing an app that doesn’t work as intended? Another “big company” scam.. Advertised as Bluetooth yet Sony’s own app doesn’t work 99% of the time. Poor form. Won’t buy any Sony again.

Shockingly outdated!. There is literally nothing inside this app, it requires a proper update. Otherwise the Sony car receiver is useless.

Awesome fun. It's a fun way to select the songs you want to listen to. Also select from radio, CD to iPhone.

Must have for Sony Car audio devices.. All up, a Great app for syncing with your car stereo & your mobile device. Better then what other brands have to offer as everything you need at push of a button or voice controlled. Although, needs a app automatic open option to start the app soon as your device is connected also a menu option to change the setup through your mobile device.. All up 4.5/5 Stars

Horrible. This app feels un-finished. The home screen does not give the options as listed in the screen shots provided. There is no equaliser function to be found anywhere. I would suggest not bothering with this pointless app until Sony deliver what they promise......which is soon (I hope).

Using different Music Media’s. I listen to Spotify but the app always goes straight to Apple Music when I connect my iPhone . It does play Spotify but I need to play around with the app remote to make Spotify play through it. Every time I disconnect my phone, I got to go through it all again.

Biggest design flaw. Trying to force users to use this terrible app is a huge design flaw. It makes it dangerous and illegal. User is forced to use their phone to charge songs with open app displayed on screen and controls locked out

Do not download. Terrible app. My interface only has a maps option on it, nothing else ever comes up. Avoid at all costs.

Easy to use and works great!. Simple and easy app to use... no problems with the app at all and it works perfectly with car head unit. Every feature works. All features pictured are only compatible with compatible devices, my Sony head unit does not have Bluetooth so Bluetooth feature isn’t shown. 🙂

Positive. I've been using this app on my iPad mini which is mounted in my dash to a Sony deck. The app is a but quirky but overall works ok. Hope for an update to make better.

Doesn’t work. This app doesn’t work with new Apple iPhones and newer iOS versions. The developer, which is Sony, doesn’t cares for updates for this app, therefore, if you Sony devices may require this app to operate, then they will be useless.

MEX-M70BT Support. What happened to support for the MEX-M70BT? There used to be an app that supported it, and now it’s just mysteriously missing from the list.

Where is the EQ ?. I downloaded this app solely to control the EQ. I see it on the manual but not the app. The stereo head unit is not so hot either.

Do NOT download this app!!!. This app caused both my iPhone 5s as well as the Sony in-dash unit to lock up and require factory reset! Without the app, everything works just fine… So do not use this app!
