National Gallery Review. Great pictures of the Art well organized by century! The app was well worth the money-Thanks! Mark Humphrey

Lacks info. A nice selection of a few favorites and other enjoyable pictures. As I am certain the gallery has wonderful information about both artists and individual pictures, I rate this low for its exclusion. Am I being harsh for a free app? Perhaps. As I am unlikely to see these in person, I would pay for a better selection and the information.

Wonderful app. Cheaper than mailing a postcard. A truly amazing app. Just spend some time looking at the works of art. I love the fact you can download an HD version of any painting. Consider that to send 1 postcard from your holiday will cost you more. Relax. Zone out and enjoy.

A delightful artful journey. I thoroughly this pleasant walk through the centuries of amazing art. This app tells the visual story so well.

Others should follow. Other great museums should take a closer look at this app and ... just follow this fantastic example of respectful and professional approach. The quality of downloadable high resolution images is impeccable. I highly recommend this app to anyone with high aesthetic and visual expectations.

Searching is very cumbersome!. Needs a way to EASILY search artist alphabetically. No alphabet on screen, just have to search and hope you spelled the name of the artist right or scroll forever. Can search by painting name, but come on, get serious, how many people know the exact name of the painting they want to see? One more thing, the app "hangs" very often and has to be shut down and restarted

Great Reminder. I really enjoy this app, it reminds me of our trip to London. I play it with the music on during the sideshow. Awesome.

A magical mystery tour of great art.. Lacking a description and dimensions of the art. But the art is great and the app is free. Really download and update you will not be diappointed.

Beautiful. Nice art from some of the worlds great masters. Not sure what the purpose of the emailing of the HD images does? Can someone explain? It doesn't download in photo album. Where does it go?

Outstanding !. Wonderful collection of beautiful images spanning several centuries. As for those griping about the lack of accompanying information, perhaps this introductory exposure should prompt you to do some additional research on your own!

If you can't be there.... ...this app will help keep the images alive. A wonderful selection, gorgeous reproductions, a tiny vacation in the phone.

New version now works. Great pictures .... It took a while for them to fix the music in the last version but now this app works great! Well worth buying!

Nice!. This is well designed. There is very little information given on each painting. Century, artist, painting title. That's it. However if you want to relax by looking at some wonderful art while listening to classical music, this is the app for you. I am really enjoying it.

Great. Want to love an artist every day? Go to the museum everyday forever for only two bucks. Trust me you won't regret it. The only reason people are giving this a lower score than five is because they want a detailed description of each painting.......pffft dumb.

Works despite lack of update in 3y. Works fine on large iPad Pro 2018 despite lack of update in 3y. HD resolution is fine but does not take full advantage of today’s hardware, so I would suggest that the developer update his whole suite of museum apps.

Miss London but almost like I'm there. Well organized by centuries. I really like the updated picture descriptions. Can you also add the date of each painting?

Vast improvement. I was always thrilled with this app, but disliked its UI, which felt rather gaudy given its content. With this latest update though, that is no longer the case, and the interface looks sleek and unobtrusive. The app itself also loads noticeably faster than before (on iPad Air), leaving little room for improvement, if any. Well done!

Razor Stubble. I approve this app. I have downloaded it in anticipation of my first visit to the National Gallery this week where I intend to use it as my guide. I'm running it on iPhone 4S and can see clearly the razor stubble on the chin of Albrecht Dürer's dad. Tate Gallery's app has actual audio guides for the few paintings. If this app had that it would get five stars from me.

Outstanding. High quality, large collection of artist and artwork.

Traveler. This app is a joy. It allows one to have an introduction to some magnificent art through wonderful reproductions. And if I want to study a particular work or artist, I can go directly to the Internet. Highly recommended.

As good as being there. Enjoy the all the art this museum has to offer without leaving home. It is great.

Thumbs up!. The music may be my favorite part of this app...so soothing to listen while looking.

Server errors. Has not been updated in 2 years, and no server access so basically all you can see are thumbnails. No opening of images and no downloading. Don't get or delete.

Even for engineers. I know very little about art, but I enjoyed thumbing through the pictures.

Be a voyeur. This is a great glimpse into the world of beautiful and famous art works. Perfect for people who do not have the time, money or access to the real thing but have a thirst for learning. The music selections although not vast are a nice plus

Almost like being at the national gallery. I just returned from London, where I visited the national gallery. This app helps me remember how great the museum was. It has images of hundreds of paintings from the Gallery. The app works well and I have not encountered any glitches.

National Gallery's. Wonderful way to go to 'the museum' anytime,especially when you need a spirit lift. M

Beautiful inspiring art from the ages. How wonderful to be able to download this art to accent your facebook pages or add to Pinterest. Using them as profile pictures on Twitter and facebook is fun and varried; a continual art feast changeable as often as you feel like it!

Art. This app brings the best paintings to my home. The division by century makes the experience even better. If you are an art lover get this app.

National Gallery. I have been to this gallery twice - most recently a few months ago. I have been to most of the world's top galleries 2X and I believe the National Gallery provides an unmatched experience - mainly due to the audio commentary it provides (for a small fee - I think GBP 3 per set). This is the best commentary among all museums in my opinion. i also think that the collection is quite broad so you can pick from a lit of choices if that is your approach to see a museum. wished the museum allowed this for purchase with the app so that it plays with the picture (when such commentary exists) as I will be happy to pay as much as $20 annually for this. Last but not the least I wish the information about each picture was as detailed as the one in the museum and showed up as a pop up on the same screen as the picture and it showed the actual dimensions of the picture. The museum could also offer true to size reprints for sale with a click of a button. Saurabh Lawate USA

Beautiful!. The national gallery is too large to see and walk in a day, a week or a month. This app lets me see it little by little, stop, read more and go back. One day I will go back to the national gallery and I will be in better shape to know exactly what I want to see, with a deeper understanding and knowledge, and meanwhile I can see the paintings anytime. Excellent. It is good to be able to spend some moments enjoying great art as I wait for someone or something. Btw I am not familiar with a lot of these works and artists. So much the better. Well designed app too. Really worth it!

No Descriptions. While I agree that the reproductions are excellent, I had to downgrade my rating due to the lack of any information except title and artist. This makes serious study difficult and the inability to copy the little that is there makes using it with a browser more difficult.

Beautiful and friendly UI. As I live far away from this museum, this is a great way for me to enjoy the art that resides there. I love that you can "like" any piece of art and create a favorites list to return to the works that you would like to see again and again. It is also a great way to get backgrounds for your iPad because you can save any piece in HD format so easily that it takes but moments. Just a one-of-a-kind app that delivers exactly what it says it does.

Beautiful Paintings. This is the London Gallery and it's contents from the 15th Century onwards. It is the perfect way to visit the Gallery whilst still at home. The fact that you can download and email etc each painting and listen to classical music are two great pluses.

Terrific app!. There's not much more to say about this. It really is the finest collection of artwork contained within as iOS app that I've ever seen. Downloading takes a bit of time, but the resolution is wonderful and I think the major time periods and schools are adequately represented. The small info blurbs about the works are well done. There could be more examples of some periods and artists, but it appears that there are other apps on the way (for the usual small fee) that will go into more detail about specific things. Great app - I'm seriously impressed!

Lovely paintings but no HD inside the App!. This would receive 5 stars from me if it would allow opening of HD paintings inside the App itself. It only downloads the HD paintings to Photos (so if you want to see crisp, beautiful photos, you have to download them and then open Photos to view them). This basically forces you to open their app, download the photos you're interested in, then open Photos to view them! Frustrating...

Excellent. I'm really enjoying the content in your app, especially the classical music. But you could please add more? Only 3 is just a tease! Maybe 4th part of Beethoven's 9th, who wouldn't like that!?
