Honolulu great app. Easy to send info thru city app. Gives details to help crews find trouble areas. Pics help to view problems speeds up repairs or send the proper investigators

Such a great app!. I waited to review this app so I could make sure it was worth it . And it is!! I have made four different reports of various problems: a long stretch of (a privately owned)side walk crowded with rubbish in Kalihi; an electrical box left unlocked and open in Mililani; trees growing low over a stretch of the sidewalk and bike path in Kapolei and tree vines hanging low on the bike path in pearl city. Not only was i contacted within two days for each report in order to verify the problem i was also contacted when the issue was handled.( and saw the evidence of the issue being handled with my own two eyes) And if the problem ( like the electrical box) could not be handled by the 311 people we were called by the people that do handle that issue and given a report of how the problem was being handled. Wonderful grass roots community care and transparency. Its so easy to use and so worth the time it takes to snap a pic and make a report!

OK but not compelling. The app looks interesting & seems to work smoothly. However I'm not sold on using it. Within the app all I see is that someone reported illegal dumping of trash or some other eyesore or potential issue & that the problem was referred to a department. If people didn't report in the comments here that anything was done & I didn't see it I wouldn't know it had any effect at all. Nice I guess, but sorry not more useful or relevant to me...

Just ok. I've made 2 reports. One still says "referred to dept" and the other was labeled "not an issue." How long does something that was "referred" take to fix? It's also illegal to photograph pot holes and vandalized/broken road signs when driving. Also not safe to abruptly pull over, get out in traffic and take the pictures and fiddle around making the report either. P.s whoever reads these reviews please have HPD drive up and down Emerson and Green street. Lots of cars that deserve tickets repeatedly. At least make some money for the city and county. Parked too close to drive ways, where the curb is red, in front of fire hydrants and even on the corner of the curb. I can barely get home safely in that area because every intersection i come to has a giant car sticking out beyond the end of the curb. Geez

Actually works!. Fast and efficient city services! They actually look at your report and do something about it!

Good app but will it get results?. App was easy to use but the overseers just take the reports and forward them to the various departments. My report of a broken streetlight was marked "closed" just hours after my report. I highly doubt a crew was dispatched that fast! Reports should not be "closed" until the work is "done".

Great app!. Save city money and great idea. Only thing I wonder about is how much quicker it might get things taken care of? Ok so they know about it, but when will they fix, clean, pick up or address the issue? To new to know but much needed progress! Mahalo city & county if Honolulu & mayor!

Great app but could be improved. Seriously need a category for potholes/street maintenance. This may be a thing the city needs to do but there has gotta be some generic categories all cities should have. Also would be great to be able so see all reports on the island and not just the ones near me. Also being able to submit multiple pics would help.

C&C Honolulu 311 App "O.K". This is a wonderful app for taking your civic responsibilities well in hand and communicating ground issues to our city government. It is quick, easy and even fun. Ability to send picture simply awesome. However, on the backend it is a bit frustrating. Almost no feedback response from C&C. Often you will check and find it has been "closed" or "not our problem." Many mis-categories. For example, C&C changed complaint of sidewalk damage from "Plant & Landscaping" to "Abandoned Vehicles." What? If C&C took seriously, it would be fantastic. But, it appears to be all PR at present.

Waste of time. I used this app to complain about 4-5 abandon cars in our area within a year and only a warnings was put on the car, no towing. After the 2nd warning the cars should be towed already. It's better to call but calling it in is also stupid cause they don't have a towing company yet. So lame

Removal of diseased Trees. Reported a diseased Hong Kong Orchid tree on our street during the month of February. First, an Arborist assessed the tree problem and determined two trees needed removal. In the month of April, both trees were removed. It took the C&C team almost all day, but the job was done with excellent workmanship and excellent proficiency. And the cleanup was excellent too! Thanks!

Highly efficient!. I submitted my request and was contacted by the appropriate agency promptly by a very professional city employee and the issue was taken care of quickly.

Impressive!. I sent in a report with a short video of a leaking fire hydrant. The very next day there was someone fixing the hydrant, and I also received a phone call to report that the problem was resolved. Wow! That’s awesome follow through! I have to say that the missing “no parking” sign which someone else had initially reported (and I added to) took several months to repair, but I’m glad it was finally done. I wish they would’ve kept the progress updates on the app. It pretty much disappeared at some point because newer reports took its place, and it only said something like “referred to department” for months. Overall, the app makes reporting problems effortless and seems to get things done.

Great Concept... Needs to be Managed. This app is conceptually awesome. Unfortunately, when I look at my neighborhood, it is cluttered with alerts as old as 2010. (Almost 2013 now). If this is going to be useful, alerts should be cleared when addressed. Right now it looks like we can report issues, but no one in the C&C is doing anything about it. May not be the case, but that is definitely how it looks when old reports are not closed out.

Waste of time and energy. I took the time to write a report because there is a stored property violation in a residential area and the homeless change right there on the street and it's very disturbing. I reported it over two weeks ago, the status on the report says closed. The city emailed me saying they would send someone last week. The stored property has doubled now and getting worse! I sent them an email back because they said i could email with concerns. I have not heard back from them. This app is a waste of time. If they are going to write closed on the report they should do something about the stuff. Don't think I'll ever use this app again!

Better than anything else I have seen gov do lately!. Every city in the world should have something like this!

Won’t submit. I’ve been using this app for a long time to report issues I see. I noticed that since the format has changed, I haven’t been able to post a request.

FANTASTIC APP!. I have reviewed what others have said about this app and I disagree with them! For what kind of a report was sent we do not know, nor will we ever. My point is that there are many reports that are turned in that are trivial and not worth being reported in! I, myself, have made many reports then I can remember. Of course not all are going to be taken action right away, but others have! So the City/County of Honolulu is trying their best with what resources they have to work with! So if you really want to make a difference in keeping our island beautiful and safe, get more involved!

So easy. So easy a caveman could do it. As long as the state has the time they will fix the deficiency. Did a tree trim request and the very next day they came out.

It has issues. Technically, my pictures have yet to make a first time transmit via cell. Also takes to long before it reports a failed transmission. Have to use wifi to get pictures to go. For the process, no follow up or feedback just transmitted to dept. need a process follow up to bring into a full circle feedback loop.

its for city & county honolulu. This app only works for issues that the city and county of Honolulu can address. If you submit a report for something under the State Dept of Transportation, they will give you the number to call yourself and close the issue. If someone looks at the report, how hard is it to just call themselves? As an aside, its idiotic to require some sort of media (picture, audio recording, etc) to be made before you can submit a report (NOT gonna be able to take a picture of that pothole i just drove over!). Considering that you are likely breaking Honolulu law by holding your phone in your car, while trying to take advantage of the GPS location feature of the app, AND make a media file to attach to the app, is a ludicrous proposition. Whoever reads the report should be able to forward the reports to the correct state department if necessary, since they obviously have the contact information to give to you. Also, apparently it seems the reports are only read during business hours, not on weekends.

Server Down?. I’ve been using this app for years and it’s been mostly good for what I wanted to do. For the last couple of days though the app gets stuck at the DoIT splash screen and I can’t get to the actual options to file a report. This is very frustrating. I think maybe some server may be down or something broke with the iOS change over because the app hasn’t changed and my internet connection is fine so something else might be broken on the server end. In any case, please fix. There’s a few things I’d like to report need fixing in Honolulu.

311 Hawaii gets results. I love this app. I report a problem and it gets fixed pronto!!! No searching for the right phone number or getting trapped on an endless office runaround. Mahalo to the people who thought this up.

Needs Improvement. It’s convenient in the sense that it has all the City and County of Honolulu’s service request in one app instead of navigating through multiple websites and phone numbers. However, it does have its share of problems. Depending on the service request, it can take up to three months before you get a response and by that time, it’s too late. Plus, the app is dependent on Apple Maps when putting in the location and Apple Maps is notorious for being very inaccurate; they need to switch to Google Maps. If the city wants the quality of life to improve, they need to make resources conveniently available, including this app, and regular updates will go a long way in solving some issues.

Fast and Responsive to my requests - always get feedback from city. Most times I get a call within days (never more than a week) indicating either problem solved, or referred to another department. Results are easy to see around our area as no broken street lights or busted sidewalks. This app is exactly what we needed since city can't be everywhere at once!

Slow app, waste of Citizen's taxes. App is very slow and freezes regularly. It's a waste of resource by the City of Honolulu. Someone has to work on the issues on a regular basis and create a user friendly app if the City of Honolulu is serious. I hope if someone's (City of Honolulu) monitoring these reviews improves are made ASAP! Otherwise it's a waste of time.

Yup.... Yup they were all right, this app is so slow.. I know this is not the mainland and we should all slow down, but this is slower then the slowest people who drive. Don't waste your time downloading this until they fix it. ( never going to happen budget cuts) lol

Nobody responds, ever.. Submitted over 7 request for 2 abandoned vehicles on my street, while a few blocks down, I see fresh abandoned vehicle signs on a dozen vehicles. Infrastructure my _ss!

Citzen. I have used this app on 7 occasions. The first use had no response from the City & County. Since that time reports (mostly for street lights not working) have been handle within a few weeks or more. Good resource for the City and community.

Pretty good but….. UPDATE: App works as advertised and did everything that it said it would do. The City and County on the other hand is a different matter entirely. Things I reported were sent to the appropriate department except pot holes. Those they said call the pothole hotline. Why say I can report it if you give me a number to call myself. Also, it has been almost two months and the signs I reported are still in the same vandalized shape. As I said, the App works great and as advertised…. only wish the City and County did as well.

Love this. It works.. The C & C does respond to and handle everything we submitted. This app and the people that monitor it does what it is supposed to. Highly recommend.

Great Tool!. This app is a great tool for anybody living on Oahu seeking to make their voice heard to the County regarding any issues our communities may be facing. Whether it's the litter in your neighborhood park, or the dangerous potholes on our streets, all can be voiced through this great app!

Great app but.... Great app, I have used it 4 times to report abandoned vehicles and the city has responded. However there needs to be a section for derelict property/eyesore property instead of just the other option. Maybe call it 'Property Eyesore' Thanks and keep up the good work ! Lets help make honolulu a great place to live :)

Don’t bother downloading this. Keeps crashing so I have to restart my iPhone. Yes, my O/S is up to date. Filed request to report broken streetlight and they “closed” the request without replacing the light. One week later, still in the dark.

Sitting and Counting…? 🤔. The app reflects Honolulu county government as a whole… antiquated and ineffective. The app needs an overhaul, better servers to facilitate its advertised capabilities, and the actual workforce to respond to the requests inputted by the public-at-large. Who am I kidding? It’ll never happen.

Awesomeness!. Don't let the bad reviews sway you, those reviewers discredit this app due to city rules and policies, not for the effectiveness of this app. The app does exactly what it was created to do, make it quick and easy to file a report. I've had a quick response to multiple reports that I've filed and have to give high remarks for the follow up calls that I've received during and after the report. Great job guys!

Easy-to-use app. I like this app because it's easy to use and helps me do my part to keep my neighborhood and our city beautiful.

Well executed, but. While the app is slow, it is well-designed for its purpose. What I question is how helpful this app will really be if so many folks start reporting every manini violation. The understaffed city departments will be overwhelmed as iPhone vigilantes flood them with reports of abandoned vehicles and potholes. This is not the fault of the developer, but a real world limitation on its usefulness.

Waste of time and tax payer money!. Ap freezes. Plus it doesn't require that you give all the necessary info for your problem to get taken care of. I reported abandoned cars and got an email from the city saying that the complaint was closed because the address the ap gave was my work one cause that's where I was when I actually sent the email, not my home one where the cars were and because I didn't know I had to give specific car details they didn't know which one I was talking about. Easier to just use the city website. With that I get a report number atleast

Great app, easy to use. This is a great app that allows citizens to report issues around the city/neighborhoods without tying up the 911 phone lines. I've made only one report and found it easy to use, incorporates photos and you're able to add details to the report.

Sluggish. The idea is good (some controversial issues like reporting homeless encampments), but gosh it's SLOW. Makes you wonder if they tested it on an actual device before deploying (I'm on iPhone 4S fwiw). Also, the UI is bizarre. Almost like no one went to school to learn how to do iOS interfaces properly so, instead, they tried to shoehorn a desktop UI into a mobile app.

Typical government. Have an app to report issues to make you think they’ll get done. Instead they don’t respond for weeks and close unresolved tickets.

Excellent way to make my hood better. I have reported and gotten responses AND seen actions taken. Excellent for me because I walk my dogs in my 'hood a lot. Now I don't have to figure out who to call. Just snap a pic, describe, send it off.

Less than 24 hours the situation was taken care of.. Amazing. Got the job done. Someone really looks at the concern and works to resolve it!

Abandon vehicle. Reported an abandon vehicle a couple weeks ago and they towed it away. Works great!

Waste of time and energy. I used this application several times. Each time I filed a report it was referred to some department and nothing ever happened. There is no way to know what happens eventually with your case. Since nothing seems to ever happen I guess this is a colossal waste of time.

Pretty useless for reporting potholes. What - do they expect you to stop in the middle of the road to take a pic to submit a report!

Need Enchancement. The most common problem around the city is pot holes. They should include this category when reporting an issue.

Slow Response. Good way to report problems but no feed back or action taken to repair broken street light. Going on 3 months since initial report made to fix a street light :-(

Thanks C&C of Honolulu. What a great way to get the public involved with helping to care for our island home! There are some tweaks needed to the system, but all in all a good start. Keep this app running!

Media required. It would be useful to report an issue without requiring a media creation.

useless app. This application is useless. Do not download. I have made several reports of major potholes (accident waiting to happen kind) and they are all categorized as Not An Issue?? waste of time this app.

J. Why do you need to take a photo of the thing you are reporting. Writing the problem and location should be enough.

Dis app is ok. App is ok...map needs to be cleared of old reports...if doesn't have to do with a broken street light or anything like that, response is usually, "not an issue"....they should also respond to noise complaints....
