Best info out there!. The information you get from all your maps are incredible. I lived on the water and NOAA has never steered me wrong. Having this information is a life saver! God bless your pilots.

Disengenuous - beware. I was astonished to find that the app does NOT follow its own settings...when you first set it up, you are given three choices as a setting: (1) Never use your location (2) Use your location only while using app (3) Always use your location Well, I chose (2), because I thought it only fair that an application might need your location info while you are using it, so that it runs more efficiently or better, etc. However, after I left the application - stopping it, I noticed that I still have a banner running at the top of my screen which says,”NOAA Now is Actively Using Your Location. I went to the website to the privacy information located at the bottom of the page, and was informed that the company that runs and oh AAA now does not knowingly pass your personal information on to anyone. That being said, if that is the case then why does it need to run in the background, even when you have left the application and closed it? Because what it is telling you is not actually what it does. For that reason I am uninstalling this application and sending a notice to the Better Business Bureau about the company’s misrepresentation of its product. Caveat emptor - let the buyer beware (even though this application version it’s free)

Ads. I totally understand the need for ads to help pay for app services, but enoughs enough! 30 second to eventually get to hurricane tracking to sometimes have to see it twice is crazy! Please look at ways to place ads that don’t make it so difficult to bypass.

Response. Really liked the graphics back during Wilma. Having a hard time finding the storms off Africa that eventually effect us in Boca/SFL. Can see some coming, but can no longer predict. I predicted Wilma hitting Boca 2 weeks out. Zero training....just 30 years plus watching path off Africa and impact on SFL.

Nope! Now.. Nope. Uh-uh. Won’t recommend. We currently have a potential Cat 4 hurricane bearing and I can’t navigate past ads for Final Fantasy and some tiki monkey junk. App is phenomenal if you wanna know if it’ll snow on Christmas Day, but if you life depends on it. Heck, I’ll stick with the local meteorologists. I gave a second star for that time years ago when I could depend on NOAA.

Too many LONG and annoying ads!. The app can be useful if you have the time and patience to weed through all of the useless, irrelevant ads before getting to the weather information.

Misleading name for app suggests this is an ‘official’ app….it is not. Not an official app. Just basic and generic app full if waiting on ads to end to get up to date hurricane info. Don’t waste your time or battery life using this app in an actual storm zone. At least be a better app if you are going to force people to pay and/or sit through ads. I’ll be deleting this one from my phone asap. Florida resident here.

Great but horrible. The app itself is exactly what you’re looking for. Great information with no fluff. Well laid out, data driven, easily digestible. That being said, if you don’t pay for the ad free use, it’s completely useless. The adds start as soon as you click on anything and continue for several minutes. It’s nearly impossible to get to the information with the length of ads. They have rendered this wonderful app unusable.

Changed. Originally this app had local radar, then after a short time, it was stopped, there are many pop up ads to deal with that cover the whole screen and you have to wait the time period with each one. Now it pops up with an ad for their new weather app which has weather radar. I won't get anything else from them, it's a bait and switch.

Almost killed me. I now HATE this app. At first it gave me the options to “never use your location” “only use your location while using this app” “ always use your location” well I chose the second one, but then it said saving your location, then it said this app will always use my location. The app actually works fine, it is 💯 garenteed to be right! 😁 However a week later someone hacked my account then found my location while I was reading a book. It is not a reliable app and I do not recommend it no matter what! 😡😡😡😡😡😡😦😦😦😦😦👿👿👿👿👿😾😾😾😾😾😾👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Ads block content. I’ve used this app every year during hurricane season without complaint. Today when I used the app for the first time this year to check on Cristobal’s storm track, an app popped up. Fine. However, there was no way to close the app. Not fine. So now I have no advance warning on what could very well be the next Katrina because some predatory lender wants me to apply for a loan? When we say “capitalism kills”, crap like this is what we’re talking about.

Climate Change. Though I readily agree that massive global fossil fuel use will have an effect I find that the smug statements of empirical fact that are presented as certainty without bothering to be intellectually honest and discuss the full range of data are repulsive and likely will cause pushback If the people running NOAA preserve their credibility they would achieve more

App ok but too many google ads. The app works well once you get through the google ads on the front page and before you open any inner pages. Not appreciated on a weather app.

Accurate. Accurate, easy to understand, current reports

NHC. Great data. Would be nice to separate the graphics from the text somewhat as lay person more interested in graphics.

Amazing and accurate. This was the most useful weather app during Hurricane Irma! Was able to advise loved ones and friends of her path and about when to expect it to start and finish.

great information. I live and have a boat in an hurricane area, so great to be able to check quickly on potential hurricane issues. Truly a wonderful resource!!!!

Too many ads. This app use to be great then they started running annoying ads. The ads have become too much, stopped using the app because of the longs ads I’m forced to watch before I can check the storm updates.

Storm preparedness. I tend to trust NOAA more than any other source of information, The different categories and easy to understand graphics are awesome!!

Ads. This app used to be awesome (especially the hurricane tracker), even with ads...but now, when it’s opened, you are given the option to buy and go ad-free, or to continue with ads...only you are now inundated with ads. Every single time you go to a new screen, an ad pops up and there’s no way to close it....EVERY. TIME. So you wait 10-15 seconds for it to close on it’s own and/or give you the option to close the ad...nothing happens so you have to minimize the app and open it back up for it to move on to the next screen...nobody has time for that in a weather emergency. So much for the “option” to go ad-free...no thanks...

Used to be ok, now useless.. Asked about settings for location first (new this year) Theapp asked that I either the pay subscription fee or see ads. I selected ads... I then selected Atlantic basin and an ad comes up for lending tree.. Okay...but it never goes away and you can’t close it so the application is now useless. Tried multiple times. The app was only ok before but I used it for a number of years. Now going to delete. You sometimes wonder what the owners are thinking and if they even care. Done!

Review on this app. I just installed without reading the comments first!!!! I’m getting out of the App Store right now and definitely going to uninstall this app because the most recent message said that although they had it where the app could use their location while they were using the app(the app actually kept keeping up with their location) BEWARE!!! I should have known better! I’ve got into all kinds of trouble for not reading the comments before buying but I never thought to look at the comments on a free app before installing!

L O V E this app . . .. It is a safety item. Every time there is a weather or related watch, warning or whatever -- it shows up here. All of the information shows up. There are the complete NOAA texts, maps, references to addit'l info, if it exists, anything else relevant. I think I have 20 (+/-) weather apps between the iPad and iPhone. They change from time to time, depending on the app development, seasons, etc. But this app hasn't been deleted yet. The app is especially relevant during severe weather season here in the Midwest for tornadoes, hail, thunderstorms, flooding. Simple and relevant. Good.

Atlantic. The information provided on the above subject is crucial to my family and myself. My family lives along the Jersey shore and I visit them frequently. Thank you for such updated information.

Usless due to ads. What happened to the app? I know we are in times that many people and companies desperately need money, but now every time I click any item, an ad pops up. The annoying thing is that it doesn’t go away AND there is no “x” or “skip” to exit the ad. I think that’s ilegal, btw. I end up giving up and closing the app. I look for information somewhere else.

Now Is Useless so I Deleted It. Used to be great with useful content. They started removing the most useful features a while ago. Now they've added pop-up ads when you select something. After you close the ad, you get one of the following errors: -Request timed out; -Site not found on server; -Cannot download image. So, I deleted the app. At least I could still do that.

Awful, disgusting and should be illegal !. I paid for this app years ago and it used to be my go-to for storm information. They have changed what I originally paid for to force me to watch 30 seconds of stupid kid games ads. Every time. I am deleting it. It should be illegal or at least against Apple policy to sell someone one thing and then to change it drastically to something different.

Too many ads. I have used this app for years and have loved it. However, recently there have been so many ads (mostly political these days) that interrupt the viewing of every page that it’s virtually impossible to use it.

I like to see what's going on in Fl. and no one gets killed.. I like to see what's going on in Florida because my bothers are down there. I just wish everyone good luck and hope no one gets killed. Love Todd

WAY TO INVASIVE ADS. Over time the ads get progressively “pushy”— first easy to dismiss, then taking over screen, then taking over screen with sound. Then it wasn’t, easy to see how to dismiss them. I felt like I was being harassed into paying to get rid of them. I do pay for many of the apps I use, but this is not an app I need. So they annoyed me into deleting it.

Now useless. This app is now useless. O never get past the ad. I have used this app for several years and loved it. It has ads but that was fine until today when the ad would never go away. I don’t need an app that does nothing but show me a Lending Tree ad over and over again! 7/31 - problem was corrected but has not stayed corrected. In the middle of a hurricane come up the coast the Lending Tree ad once again will not go away.

Excellent but occasionally difficult to find items of interest. All info is there. Including maps etc. but occasionally I cannot navigate easily. Not intuitive enough. Otherwise I’d give it 5 stars.

Review. I love being able to see weather in Florida, where I live and also where family live in various parts of the U.S.!!!

Extremely poor. This app tries to force you to pay to remove ads even if you don’t mind ads by removing features as well. The app maker should simply not offer a free version if what they actually intend is a paid version. I resent the strong arm tactics to pretend that they offer a free version when in fact all they want to do is threaten you with removal of features if you don’t pay “to remove ads.” What they mean is that it is a trial version of a paid app and not a free app. They should say what they mean instead of pretending otherwise. Being straightforward is more impressive to me than lying. So I am going to delete this app. It doesn’t do anything I can’t get from another app anyway.

FULL PAGE ADS = DELETE. Developer apparently does not use their own app. Ads with sounds??? Forget this. Content not worth the price of removing ads. Image quality very LOW resolution. Don’t bother supporting app developers that ram full page ads down your throat. Especially when there are tons of other apps that provide same information at better quality than what you find here.

Useful app, horrible advertising. I used to really like this app. It contained the latest, most useful information. That being said I’ve stopped using it because with the last update brought a new advertising feature. Now, just about everything you try to do in the app brings up an advertisement for something. Some ads are only a few seconds long, others a half a minute. Mostly harmless but extremely annoying, every time you tap to view something different, an ad pops up. I’m done with it! I’ll find some other app with the same information but less annoying ads!

Misbegotten adverts. This great app has a terrible flaw in the adverts. Useless subjects, impossible to find kill buttons, and full volume ads guaranteed to wake a dead elephant. What more could a last minute bedtime check want. Beautifully done if the objective is to get people to NOT USE IT. ARE YOU LISTENING, GOOGLE?

Very disappointed. I was looking for NOAA hurricane information.. projected track, wind speed probabilities, etc that you find on the NOAA Hurricane Center web page.. so, all the pretty pictures they have in their ad just are not available in this app... only gives satellite images (which are pretty, but not very informative), and the text updates that are releases 4x per day (they are informative, but a lot of info to sift through).. there is other information , but hurricane info is very limited.. so disappointed..

**AVOID ITS A SCAM**. **Update** CS refuses to respond to emails. Stay away from any of this companies apps. They just want your money. Do not subscribe to anything or turn on location services or notifications. This new company has now started scamming people for information that’s available on NOAA website. The previous owner of NOAA Now used to have a $9.99 fully functional app called NOAA now pro. They discontinued the paid version so that they can make more money by charging a reoccurring monthly fee to remove the bloat ware that they added to the free app. Don’t support these companies that offer a paid full version then take it away and only offer a subscription to get rid of the rubbish. Don’t download it even though it’s free because you’re only going to encourage other app developers with paid apps to do the same. That’s how in app purchases and games that only require a data connection started. Don’t help them start another disaster!!

Drained phone 20% while not in use, won’t let me turn it off. This app has decided it wants to run 24/7 in the background. Tried to turn off location services, and it won’t let me. So basically the app hijacks the phone. 22 hr 30 min of the last 24 hours in screen time shows this app was running. I haven’t intentionally used this app in months.

Hate ads with sound. I used to really like this app and was willing to put up with the ads at the bottom. But in the last couple of days, when I open the app, a loud, raucous ad covers the page and I have to quickly close the app to avoid waking up anyone in the house or jarring my ears. I'll just go to the NHC from now on. I'm sorry they made this change.

Problem report. Your app is great but when there is a problem I am unable to report it. The only way I hope to get it fixed is by writing this review. Over the past 3 days when I go to satellite view for Atlantic and Pacific oceans Africa gets superimposed over South America. Once it is fixed feel free to delete this review.

Highly Recommended. It's a great informative and scientifically oriented medium of delivering weather updates. Only quirk would be each time you leave the app it closes what you were last reading and you have to go back and find it. Possibly adding a little notification pop up on the side saying how many new posts have been added since the post you began reading.

Clunky and dated page design. No flow to this app. Not intuitive. Every time the site is opened, the user has to read the entire page to process next click to get to data. Once finally there, information is very good though. Respectfully, a definite “re-do” is needed.

Exceptional graphics!. Adds are a pain when you just want a quick peak.

Just the facts !!!. With this program you can check the weather any where in the world. It works almost instantaneously to give you either a written statement of the weather or you can look at the pretty pictures . Either way you get the latest update available for any where in the world.

Unstable and questionably accurate if that. After using this one for years I have found that the categorizing of images which are FREE from NOAA are not consistent with what images cover what regions. It is not uncommon for the app to crash then you have to restart the app yet again which is more than an annoyance. Recently they wanted to start charging users for what they are providing which is a joke.

Ads ruin the App. Although the information in Global Storms is very helpful, the video ads make it nearly impossible to use. Ads pop up all the time and they are often impossible to close or skip, meaning I must shut down the App and try again. You guys should consider testing your app on a iPad so you encounter this frustrating problem. Update …. It’s gotten worse. The ads for games are out of control and the Skip Video button doesn’t work. I assume they added that button just to be extra annoying to users.

App no longer compatible with anything other than iOS 6 (aka newer iPhone/iPad). Since the latest update - optimized for iPhone 5/iOS 6, the app hasn't worked on my iPod Touch. If you can't write an app that is backwards compatible, at least indicate to us that we can no longer use this app on our older platforms! I'll be deleting the app and not bothering with it anymore... Too bad, as it was a good app.

American info. That big grey zone above you is called Canada and the one below you is called Mexico.....and we're supposedly your closest allies.

Horrible. With NOAA and its amazing reputation, I expected a lot more and "USEFUL" data. As a admirer and user of its website, this is probably the worst weather app on the market.

Use it every day. NOAA is the first site I consult every day I check weather while sailing in Mexico. Reliable, not always perfectly accurate (no weather service is) and accessible. Thanks NOAA

Issues with this app. Since I initially downloaded this app it is not updating any information. Please develop a fix

Needs Lots of Work.. First time I opened app it didn't update info. When you finally get it, you have to look up info. Not hard to do but time consuming. There should be a shortcut menu like Hurricane Tracker, which uses all of NOAA info, maps and satellite images.

Ads RUIN it. They have video adds that take over you’re whole screen just for toggling through the app. NOAA is a government agency that we pay our tax dollars for. We shouldn’t have to give any more money to access this information without invasive ads and respect to our time. I’m deleting this crap.

Horrible ads. Can’t ever seem to get to the actual weather/forecast because of the NEVER ENDING string of ads. Used to be a valuable service, now I’m deleting because it’s totally useless.

Very user unfriendly. If you are a meteorologist this might be easier to navigate because you would know what these things mean, but finding something like the predicted path and timetable is pretty tough

Ads and layout worse. Ads you can't avoid and poor layout changes make the app less navigable and much more frustrating.

Used to be great...terrible now. Provides good info, IF you can get past the full page ads. Even after closing the ads, they pop up multiple times before I can get any actual info from the app. Time for me to delete this...

Surveillance of Personal Device. Disappointed in January 2020 when a pretty decent app decided to allow third party access by MULTIPLE big tech manipulators to ALL of subscribers personal information, eg ALL sites visited (not just this one), even when running in background. Outrageous! Thanks but no thanks.

Most irritating ads ever. Not only do ads irrelevant to my circumstances pop up when I open the app, there appears to be no way to get past the ad so I can access the weather information I seek. Lending Tree can go to hell, along with this app.

Politics ads. The app itself is interesting, but every time I open it I’m getting an ad asking for me to support immigration crackdowns and “don’t tread on me” symbols. Maybe it’s just a paying advertiser, or maybe it’s the developer pushing they’re agenda, but I’m not interested in supporting that.

NUMBER ONE WEATHER APP. Simply the first app, out of many, that truly impressed me. All the information you will ever need. MUST HAVE!!!!

Frustrating ads. Every time you click a menu you get an ad that takes ages to give you the x to close it. This app used to get five stars in my opinion, now I’m going to uninstall it because the ads outweigh any usefulness of the app.

Trump survey is end of app for me. Used to think this is a good app and if you live in the South it’s essential. I put up with the ads and games for years but now with the pro Trump survey dominating the app, it’s over and out for me. Yet another thing Trump has spoiled in the world. About to move to Mars!

Used to be an okay app…. I’ve used this app for years. Every now and again you’d get an annoying pop up add. No big deal. Now… You can’t even get to the information. Ad pops up, runs for 30 seconds or more and won’t let you close it! Worthless.

Can’t navigate format plus ads everywhere. Ads everywhere. Just wanted to check the weather but I couldn’t see a clear way to do that on this app. Is noaa behind this? They seem to reputable to put out a BS scam app like this..

Not as advertised. When selecting the app, examples shown were actual images of the “cone of uncertainty”. After opening the downloaded app, it was all text.

Ads have killed the app. Used to be my go to app, now the ads are worse than a malware infested site, constantly hijacking me and wasting my time, and giving me no simple way to skip or close the ads.

Does NOT WORK on multiple droid & IOS devices!. Global Storms WAS nice until lately! Now, no satellite loops function and NEVER stops loading those maps. Further, the company never responds to questions and concerns!

Ads on a paid app! 👎🏻. I purchased this app when it was called NOAA NOW. I guess it’s been bought out, because now it is back to multiple ads that play until they time out. Very disappointed that I’m forced to watch ads now on a paid app or else pay a monthly fee. 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

Love it!. I always use the NOAA app. I use the satellite views often and go to it for severe weather updates. I trust NOAA more than the weather channel.

Might have bout it outright but this feels kind of scammy, and since they thought it was ok to waste my time...

Ads, ads, ads. I loved this app until all the ads were added. The last thing I need to see when I am worried about a hurricane is a 30 second ad.

Good app…annoying advertising. Good info but you definitely “pay” for it with adds that seem to last forever. Any they aren’t the most appropriate adds either. I’m not against guns but blood spattering gun shot, violent animation seems unnecessary.

not impressed. Set this up for my area—SE—and it would only show Pacific, not Atlantic side or anywhere close to where I live. I did press “allow location while using” and still would not pick it up.

Ads do not need to be on this app!. When such an important app which provides info regarding major storms, it is in poor taste to have long ads or even video game ads that last sixty seconds or greater. Especially when you are trying to get current info. This one is getting deleted! One ⭐️😡😡😡

Image of the day. I just use this app to see the image of the day. The GIF image used to load just fine and display the animated clip, but now it only shows a still picture. Not really as awe-inspiring as the animation, y’know?

Not very useful. Provides satellite pictures and tropical storm locations, but thats about it. No true weather information like surface analysis, etc. Everything here can more easily be found on NOAA’s web site, just bookmark what you use.

Terrible app. This is not from NOAA but from a 3rd party. Continual ads that are almost impossible to close. Can get info directly from the NOAA site. This is a waste of time and a very frustrating app. Would give it zero stars if I could.

Valon C.Forbes (NOAA) review. NOAA weather alerts, and forecast, are very helpful, and it keeps you updated on the latest tropical cyclone, winter advisory, or any inclement weather systems, to help keep you safe.

Ads. Too many adds. Being associated with NOAA you think ads would be non-existent. Should keep associated topics together, example, Hurricane x with Hurricane x, and so on. Looking for updates can be difficult

Too many advertisements. Could be a great app but way too many ads. You really can’t even navigate to what you’d like to see without dealing with at least 3 advertisements. It’s a bit ridiculous

Deleting after years. I used this app for years, but new advertising feature is intolerable. The ads are intrusive, ling, and very difficult to skip after they’ve run.

Can’t get through the ads!. I like the Forecasts and graphics. I would give it a 5 ! The problem is having to restart the App several times to get in !

Frustrating - Stuck on ads. Add will pop up on free version. Will not let you go back. Havta get out and start over. Free version not worth it, and don’t think the paid will be worth it based on limited review of the free version.
