Really good, and worth your money-Updated. I don't generally write reviews but I've been using this app for almost a year now, and though it doesn't have all those qualities a computer might have this is pretty good. It's not the hard to use and allows me to do simple things that help everything. From being able to slide the size and opacity meter. To actually having a laso tool, and creating folders as well as your own canvas size. I also great enjoy the future of importing brushes people have made. I was able to get some good brushes to use. Overall 7 dollars for this app really grants a lot. I was also very surprised on how many layers I could open depending the size of that canvas. Overall it's really good. Edit: Okay with the brand new update, I absolutely love it. This app is honestly amazing, the only thing that bugs me or that could be improved is being able to pictures outside of the canvas. Meaning I would be able to bring in reference photos and place them outside of the canvas. That way my drawing won’t be interrupted. Aside from that, I’ve had this app for almost 2 years and I am still not even close to disappointed. :)

Mixed emotions in Intuitive and fluidity with the Keyboard and trackpad.. Procreate has been a great app for artists whether you are an enthusiast, a hobbyist, or even professionals. The tools are great for most situations, Grouping to keep you organized, and not to metnion how great it is with the Apple pencil. Here is my main problem with the app. If you are using with the keyboard for undo, redo, color, layer shortcut, etc, It is amazing, but Keymapping your own keys. would be helpful as I do not prefer doing gymnastics with my index finger trying to press the "B" key. I would love to remap to the "A" Key if I can. Another problem when I was using the magic keyboard case is about the trackpad itself. Navigating with the trackpad is terrible for panning the canvas. I cannot use the two finger pan, but I can Pinch to zoom, but it's a hit or miss, and if I keep trying to pinch, it registers "Undo", which I didn't want to do. There is also a software bug where I try to name the canvas on the starting screen, It does the animation like the usual, but It just aborts the action, which is quite frustrating and I have to open the canvas, go to canvas settings, and rename it there. If these problems are fixed, This would have been the best experience for users who does use keyboard and trackpad or a mouse.

Needs audio, stacks working wrong, needs blur. AUDIO: This is such an amazing app for illustrating and animation. So many brushes and styles to draw in. For animation I used to use Flipaclip but it doesn’t has as many brushes as Procreate does. Plus there were limits to Flipaclip. And one thing that procreate doesn’t have is audio. And that’s a pretty big thing for those who animate. Many people have been asking for audio and we need it. That would make Procreate a much better app. If this has audio I’m sure that it would gain more downloads and be a main app for animation for many more people. I really would’ve rated the 5 stars because it’s NEARLY PERFECT LITERALLY ANYONE CAN USE IT but the audio thing brings it down :( STACKS: I have some stacks that are named so I know what goes where. But for some reason when I add a new canvas in a stack it changes the name to “stack” For example one of them is called “animations”. When I add a new animation to the stack that name “animations” changes to “stack”. And not only that, it kind of glitches and makes a different canvas/illustration first. Also, I have to drag the stack to the canvas. When I drag the canvas to the stack, the canvas doesn’t go in. BLUR BRUSH: Another thing is that Procreate needs a blur brush. Not one for the whole screen but a brush similar to the smudge brush. Because sometimes we just need to blur a bit of something.

Love it!. I’d highly recommend this app for digital artists, recently I’ve started to get into digital painting, and this app is perfect for it! I’ve tried other apps like ibis and medibang, but they aren’t as efficient, and ibis is clearly not meant for it. The transition was easy, and I love being able to utilize the fact that this is an app and not a desktop download. At first I was hesitant because of it costing money, but I love this app, and it is so cheap for how amazing it is. My complaints? I don’t have any about current features, and the things I’m saying aren’t complaints, they’re just things that would be more convenient. This app doesn’t seem like it’s made for comic making, but it would be great if there was some tools for being able to make them. I’m able to, but I have to switch between ibis (has a text tool, I haven’t seen one on here yet) and Procreate so that I don’t have to be frustrated with my handwriting. It would also be nice to have “stroke outer” and “glow outer” filters, it would be more convenient for my stylized art, and some effects look better with “glow outer” and/or “glow inner” filters applied to them. But these are definitely not necessary features, they would just make things easier and take away the step of taking the file to ibis to apply said filters. Basically, I love this app, and I would recommend it to any digital artists on iOS.

Some functionality improvements would make it much better. For the “edit shape” feature, which pops up at the top after using quick shape, there should be a way to easily re-enter this mode, rather than having to redraw the shape...I get that this makes more sense for a vector app, but it would be so much more useful for there to be better shape editing functionality. I find myself undoing because I can’t really see what tiny adjustments I’m making because the “anchor point” blue bubbles get in my way. This should be an option after every most recent line is drawn. Hoping this changes in procreate 5. Also...double tapping on one of the anchor point controls should convert a curve into a point, like in illustrator how the anchor point tool converts end points from curves to straight lines. I just want to draw perfect flower petals! Duplicating shapes is annoying as well, in move/resize mode there should be a duplicate button right on the bottom option panel, so I can duplicate within my layer, rather than navigating from the selection tool to the move tool, only to have my selection disappear upon switching between these two. I notice it happening and maybe it’s due to my own inexperience with the app, but it is annoying. Especially when it just makes a new layer every time I try to duplicate an element.

Amazing app! There’s one thing…. Hello! I’d like to say Procreate is probably my go-to app for sketching, it’s a breeze and wonderful to use! A minor issue I would like added (possibly!) in the future is the usage of audio and music input. As the other reviews have stated, I believe this would add a major amount of downloads to your app. Again, another thing I’ve noticed is: the fill bucket. Often, it will color the circle the correct color but leave a thing trace of the background color behind, but I’m not really worried about that. Back to the audio/music option: I really think this would be wonderful for beginner/pro animators alike! Other apps don’t compare to the lovely quality of this one, with hundreds of brush options. It’s just nice really, compared to toner free apps I’ve tried, this one by far is the best. Thus, the missing audio input is what disappointed me the most, as an artist and beginner animator, the music/audio brings your character to life. And you also need it to lip sync, add movement or footsteps, etc. If you could, could you try to add a music import within the animating portion? I’ll await the day it may happen! Well, thanks for everything Procreate, and making my drawings look nice and smooth.

Trial Version Please; Piracy is a Crime.. I heard about this app from a friend who likes to draw. I went to see if there was a lite version, and found a cracked version (I know, I’m a bad person). However, it ended up working really well, and I could see myself as a long term user so I bought the app to support future development. It installed smoothly and all of my drawings transferred to the AppStore version. There was nothing wrong with it, however any software that I want to try that doesn’t have a lite/trial version, I pirate. after a week, I delete the pirated version and either buy the full version to support the developers, or just don’t use the app. I feel like it would decrease piracy and would allow a user who just wanted to try the app if there was a lite version that was free but had a very limited set of brushes. It would be very easy to just cut out content from the app binary, and would drive more sales. Also PLEASE CREATE AN APP FOLDER IN THE ICLOUD DRIVE WHERE FILES CAN BE SAVED. THIS ALLOWS MULTIPLE DEVICE SYNC, AND IS VERY EASY TO IMPEMENT. EVEN FREE APPS HAVE IT, THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR A PRO APP TO NOT HAVE ICLOUD SYNC. Yes I know I can press “select all” to export all as procreate files, but it’s a workaround, not a feature.

Wow! From an experienced digital artist.. What an amazing app! I’ve been drawing digital art for a long time, and I’ve used a variety of hardware and software; Cintiq, Wacom Intuos, Photoshop, Medibang, Corel Draw, Illustrator, Autodesk Sketch, and more. But oh my gosh, I can never go back to anything else! Using the iPad with a proper pressure sensitive stylus and Procreate is better than any other combination of hardware and software I have ever used. I’m so used to my normal Photoshop workflow, which I’ve been settled into for years, that I was skeptical about being able to get used to another program. Boy, was I wrong. Procreate is so well designed and just works absolutely perfectly for me. My Wacom tablet has gone in the drawer and my Creative Cloud subscription is cancelled. I can’t possibly recommend this app and sing its praises enough. It’s unbelievable how powerful it is, especially for only $10. I’ve used more expensive software that was far less capable. The only tiny gripe I have is that I wish there was a way to turn off the automatic adjustment of adjacent colors when I use color dropping. I'm not sure what this feature might be called, but I can’t find a way to turn it off. Still, I don’t use color dropping to color most of the time anyways. So, 5 stars. EDIT: Figured out how to fix that one issue I had. Turns out it was my own lack of knowledge, not anything wrong with the app!

Hands down the BEST drawing app I’ve ever used!. After seeing CSP went to a subscription system and not having any luck with Adobe fresco, I saw a lot of reviews recommending Procreate. I was a bit nervous at first as some complained about it being hard to learn but that’s not the case at all. I’ve only had this for about a week or two now and I can already say I’m absolutely over the moon for Procreate! It’s incredibly easy to learn; (might be difficult for those who have never used digital drawing apps before) I didn’t have to use a single tutorial and have only used the help guide once, which by the way, is wonderfully laid out! The variety of brushes they provide are much more than what I could ever ask for and respond to pen pressure beautifully! There’s also an option to adjust the brush opacity which is incredibly helpful! My only gripe if I had to give one, is that I would like to see more options on the layer menu such as adjusting the layer opacity and having the ability to delete the layer. I’m sure those are both options but having them right there when you double tap the layer would be helpful. Other than that, it’s a great app! I would definitely recommend to anyone who needs a good on the go option.

So close to perfect. I just got procreate about 2 weeks ago, and it’s like the best drawing app ever, it has everything I could ever want from a drawing app and more, it’s extremely intuitive and easy to use as well, unlike many other applications, the only part that I dislike about the app is that it isn’t as superior when it comes to animation. I know Procreate is a drawing app, not an animation one, but it makes drawing so easy, I wish it had better support for animation, specifically adding audio, I wanted to lip sync to a lot of my animations, but since I can’t import the audio into procreate, I have to try timing everything myself, which is a nightmare. If procreate was audio compatible, I think it would be the perfect application for all my 2D drawn animations. But, it’s animation support still has everything I need when it comes to the drawing side of things. So there’s at least that. Either way though I highly recommend Procreate to anyone interested in 2D digital art. If you’re looking to animate in procreate, I recommend it if you only need to draw something, although I recommend other applications if you’re going to need to add audio to make sure your animations match up.

Closest to hand drawn art in a digital app. I’ve mostly worked with Photoshop and more recently started using Affinity Photo and Designer. I purchased Procreate a couple years ago but never used it that much because I hate that there are no stroke settings for objects and text. I’ve just now decided to work with it more often and am falling in love with the ability to get a more hands on feel to my artwork that I couldn’t get from Photoshop. I wish the app would have the ability to hide brushsets or nest them in a folder style so you don’t have to scroll through the list to find the brushset you need. It is difficult to copy a brush and move it to another folder if you have a lot of brushsets like I do. That way you could simply unhide the brushset with the brush you want to copy and rehide it when done. It would be even better if this could be done at the brush level too. I have lots of brushsets that I would like to keep installed and grouped by the artist and I don’t want to delete them. I just want them hidden and I can unhide them if I want to play around with the brushes from that set. The ability to hide and unhide brushsets would make the app more user friendly and provide a cleaner brushset UI.

Missing key features. This app has the best combination of robust features and ease of use out of dozens of drawing apps I've tried. The brushes are easy to customize and have great variation. Transferring docs to Photoshop is a breeze. All the tools and effects are thorough and well done. The interface is sleek but poorly documented, and I only found out most solutions through forum posts after Googling them as there's no Help documentation. As there's a lot of swiping, tapping, and dragging to reveal tools, this is really, really inconvenient. Even the Fill tool is unique (and cool!), but good luck finding it without a walkthrough. The MAIN ISSUE is that there are some features missing that most other drawing and graphics apps have, that make it incredibly frustrating at times and force me to still have to rely on other apps. *There's NO clipping layer option and you CAN'T crop/resize canvases after creation.* Having to shade without clipping makes me feel like I'm 13 and using MS Paint, but even that lets you change canvas sizes. These are options on almost every drawing app I've used (even back on my iPhone 4) for years now. There's also no text tool and you can't draw shapes, which is definitely a handicap compared to other apps, but not treasonous considering its focus as a painting app. Still, I'd love to rely solely on Procreate for what are usually relatively default features. All in all, my favorite drawing app, but not complete enough to be my only one.

Fantastic, but some minor problems. I absolutely adore this program and use nothing else for my digital artwork. There are too many wonderful things about this app to list them here, but read the other reviews to get a comprehensive idea. My only issue is this: palm rejection. 95% of the time it is fine, but every once in a while, the slightest motion of my hand will cause the canvas to jitter and then shift position. I sometimes experience brushstrokes that zigzag from where my pencil was placed on the screen to where my hand was in contact with the screen. Now, I’m not sure if this is a problem with the app or the ipad or if anyone else experiences this, but it is quite frustrating to experience. Again, this is my only issue with the app. The artwork that I am able to produce is better than I hope it will be (not a pride thing, just glad that I have the tools to properly translate my imagined image into an artwork) and the variety of artworks you can create (images, gifs, animations, 3D models, etc.) is incredible to me. I really recommend this app to anyone with an artistic side.

Amazing!!. I love this app it’s so easy to draw with I’ve been using it for about a month and I’ve compared it to other apps this is by far the best iPad art app this makes people who aren’t great at drawing amazing like I’m not that good myself at least not for detailed drawing but this made it easy I admit there are some bugs and some MAJOR bugs but the last update really helped and even with the bugs it’s the best iPad art app out there if ur a pro artist or literally anyone use this app I use it to make iPad backgrounds and they look like professional portraits (not trying to brag) a slight suggestion is when using the light brush or pen use the darkest color possible without it being black otherwise blue yellow green orange red pink purple they all come out white it’s so amazing how easy it is to use when I first found the app what really sold me was Discount_Draculas comment LOL Anyway if you don’t know how to creat a new canvas or something press the plus sign and the rest is easy enjoy creating OMG i made something and I had to delete it cause it kept saying it had a virus or somthing and the app started being weird once I deleted it it was just fine this is an edit so just a warning to all users and future users take a screenshot of you’re artwork so that if that happens you can simply go to photos and put the screenshot of you’re artwork in you’re gallery!

Hello! Please read this. (Developers). Hello! The thing is. . . Well. . . This may be short or longer, I don’t know but- When ever I draw and I start to press the bucket to fill in my creations- but the problem is, when ever I fill it in, it fills in the WHOLE canvas. I wondered why it did that so I just drew a very thick circle and tested it if it would do that to do too and it did. I tried turning off my device all the way, double clicked home button and took it away. It did not work! I saw a few people having complaints about this, most of them are my partners, or friends who I draw with. I stopped drawing for a while, and went back to doing my artwork, it still did it. I hope y’all can fix this. But if you are still working on some other bugs, requests, etc- that is totally fine! I can wait, so NO NEED TO RUSH! I don’t want the developers to feel stressed. But this is a bug that keeps BUGGING me. Please get this fix once you can! Thank you for your time, and taking some time off just to read this, I appreciate you for doing that, and I also appreciate you making this app for me to add my creativity onto the canvas! All I do is when I get home from WHATEVER place I am at, I immediately get on Procreate and start painting with my pen. All is well, goodbye. <3

Very Glitchy After iOS 15 update. I very rarely had problems with Procreate before updating my iPad recently. Now though it has become vey frustrating to use. Now when trying to add a photo, the pop up of my photo albums constantly closes before I get a chance to find & add a photo. It’s not just occasionally… it’s every time I go to add a photo. It also glitches when trying to change the font of your text… after trying out several fonts, it eventually stops updating the text despite the name of the selected font changing. I’ve also experienced new issues just today that I haven’t had problems with before. While using color fill on several different shapes (all on the same layer), it stopped working mid way through and I could not get it to work again without completely closing & then reopening the app. Then while adding a photo through the “add file option” (that I now have to rely on completely as opposed to “add photo” which is usually quicker) … the file/photo would not show up on the canvas… however it was showing in the layer menu. I’ve never had those issues before and the problem resolved itself after another restart of the app. It is very frustrating though because I love this app and use it all the time but now it’s becoming a pain 😣 Please fix!!

The Professional App for Artists. I started using Procreate back in 2011 on the iPad 2. Back then it was an impressive app, despite only being able to finger paint at the time. Savage kept updating it. Changing it. With each iteration it got better and closer to what it felt it was trying to be; a professional app for artists. Nowadays, professionals are using it to create amazing work on iPad Pro with Apple Pencil. It’s crazy how far the app and the iPad have come. Everything from movie posters used in theaters and on billboards (Logan), storyboards for films (It), to fine art, comics, and concept art. If you want to do professional work on iPad Pro, this is your app. It may lack a tool here and there, but everything it has is tweaked to near perfection. Blazing fast, smooth as glass, and full of power. Not many developers in the App Store so obviously put in this much work and care. Procreate is what you get when a team wants to make the best thing they possibly can. With Procreate 4 we get yet another amazing update at no additional cost. I feel like I’ve robbed Savage at this point. I paid some small amount of money back in 2011 and what I have now is worth hundreds. I hope they’re making plenty of money, because they deserve it, and I’d be crestfallen if Procreate was no longer around. Keep doing your best down under, guys and gals. We appreciate it.

Fill bucket + reference. I love this app and it has made digital art so easy for me, and I’m thrilled to see the addition of clipping masks and shape tools! One thing I think is an absolute necessity for the next update, however, is a reworking of how the fill bucket tool functions. Other (free) programs such as medibangpaint that I’ve used have capabilities like expanding fill bucket selection without having to use the select tool, and the fill bucket taking all marks into consideration, regardless of layers, when making its fill. The ‘reference’ setting has proved to be inconvenient at best. Also, having to drag the color swatch from the top right corner is cumbersome. Fill should be its own tool like drawing and erasing. Honestly, I just want to see the fill bucket function like it does in EVERY other art program I’ve used. Another thing to note, many programs have the very useful feature of allowing you to have reference images in a separate window on the screen, so you can see them no matter where you are on the canvas. Would love to see this integrated. And, a final request, please make blending tools stop picking up colors from outside your selected area when you blend. I use the selection tool,,,, so the brush doesn’t interact with things outside the selection,, why do blending brushes pick up things from outside the selection and drag them into your selection,, That said, thank you for making such a fantastic art program accessible at such a low cost!

Amazing app but a few problems. I’ve been using this app for about two weeks now and realized there are a few problems… 1. When trying to fill in a circle or perfectly closed shape, it will sometimes color the entire layer but not at 100% opacity for some reason 2. I have to screenshot my drawing when finished because the option so save as a png and etc is not possible or won’t work and will only save as a file not to my gallery and when I try to share an artwork, it will make it unavailable to open for other devices or people. 3. I just discovered this but though this is a one time problem or error, I’ve been trying to draw and when I open my layers the whole app with freeze. I’ve reopened the app multiple times and even restarted my iPad but it just won’t work. After this review I’m going to try to reinstall however I just wanted to point this out to the devs and other people who use this app Have a wonderful day and even though these problems are pretty irritating, I still have fun with making art with this app and it’s overall a really good app for artists. Oh and one more thing, I recommend adding an option to add a reference or photo on the side of the canvas not on top. So that we can look at it and look at the whole canvas itself. So far I haven’t seen an option for that besides making it a layer but if there is then I apologize. Once again have a wonderful day and have fun making artwork with this app, I really enjoy it.

Nearly perfect!. This app is literally the entire reason I bought an iPad and Apple Pencil. I had used Autodesk Sketchbook for years, then purchased Procreate Pocket when I got an iPhone and loved it so much I wanted the full experience. I love making custom brushes and playing around with them, and pairing this app with the Apple Pencil is amazing for making digital art. My only complaint is that I wish there was a ruler set in Procreate like the ones in Sketchbook. I know I can draw a line and hold down a finger to make it snap to be straight, but sometimes it would be really helpful to have an on-screen ruler to move around and position, and a circle/ellipse ruler would be even more helpful in my opinion. I also wish flipping a layer would flip it in relation to the entire canvas, like if I draw a line on the right side it should go to the left side when I flip the layer. These are just minor gripes though, and I still absolutely love this app and use it almost exclusively. I also love the Procreate Instagram, they post a ton of useful tips. This is my favorite iPad app, hands down.

Wonderful App, Great Service, some suggestions. I’ve been using this app for about a year now and what has shined the most about it to me is it’s simple, easy to use layout and amazing customer service. They have an email help service where you can ask any questions and receive a quick response in the next 24 hours. No more searching Reddit threads in search of solutions and finding nothing that works. My old MediBang program wouldn’t always calibrate with my Wacom and the program itself would crash all the time interfering with my actual work time- not fun, when I’d Google search and nothing would help. Everything from how to replicate your favorite brushes from former programs to small technical questions - I once thought there was a problem with my Apple Pencil not connecting, turns out my opacity was just all the way low! Ha! This has been wonderful for me, as someone transitioning from another app and overall not too tech-y. My only suggestion would be to offer more free brushes, like a standard pixel brush would work wonders, and brushes that are pressure sensitive or have “wetness” to them like ibispaint. Textures and borders and more and even in-app downloadables like medibang would be magical too. Overall well worth the money.

Some things about the update.. So when drawing and using the app after the recent update, I was having fun drawing, until these two things started happening. The Gaussian Blur, is my favorite tool to smooth out all the hard lines when making a gradient. but I used it, and it left the Hard Line, only adding a small opacity blur. That’s not what it always has done, and it’s really upsetting that it does that now. Did that ability move to another button? I can use the smudge tool of course but it isn’t even and doesn’t do it to all of the paint in that layer, taking a long time. The Gaussian blur did it immediately, evenly, and quickly! For the selection button, when selecting an area there is a glitch too. When undoing on only the separate line just made, you can’t keep drawing for the selection area! It makes you undo the entire selection area until you’re back to drawing mode and then you have to start over. Is this a glitch? Will you most likely be fixed it in the next update? Procreate is the best drawing app in my opinion, and this is why I still give five stars for now. These are my go to tools, and this is what makes drawing on the app easier and fun! If these stay like this it’ll make the whole experience just worse for me when drawing.

5.3 update leaves old iPad users and 3rd party styli in the dust. I loved Procreate initially, it was the reason I bought an iPad and compatible stylus last year - I didn’t have enough funds for a brand new iPad Pro and an Apple Pencil, so I spent ~300 USD on a 5th gen iPad and Bamboo Wacom stylus, both compatible and touch sensitive with Procreate.. the new 5.3 update completely trashed 3rd party styli compatibility - and procreate didn’t warn their users in any way! They are also aware that the App Store won’t allow anyone to revert back to an old version after the auto update… so when emailing customer service, they basically said I’m screwed, and need to get the cash for all new equipment if I want to use their program I paid for.. outrageously rude and inconsiderate, from my view. *They are being generous with such an elite and inclusive art app, and keeping the app -itself- affordable, I do appreciate that - but not notifying anyone and just booting all the poor/budgeting artists out from being able to use the app anymore is kind of classist and absurd. Yes, Apple Pencil is progressing faster than other styli - yet iPads only a few years old can’t use an Apple Pencil. If there was a way to offer an option within the app, to give up some of the new and advanced features, in order to use a 3rd party styli with touch sensitivity.. you could keep all your struggling artists in the net of Procreate appreciation. But until that happens - we’re screwed. ; v ;

Fantastic for beginners and professionals alike. One thing I never liked about most other drawing programs, especially on desktop, was how incredibly overwhelming and complicated the user interface tends to be. Even as someone who has been doing digital art for many years, I find the many buttons and knobs and whistles of other programs to be very difficult to get used to, and the workspace feels very cluttered even when I trim down the windows to just the tools I need. Procreate is different. The developers put a lot of care into developing this program and it shows. The result is a wonderfully elegant and streamlined UI that lacks clutter while still being incredibly powerful and giving the artist many tools to work with, and it utilizes the most of the iPad and Apple Pencil's functions to make it very efficient to use and easy to master. In addition to its lovely and easily customizable layout, I commend the Savage team for sticking to their guns regarding their pricing, as Procreate has always been single-purchase with free updates, unlike other companies that have fallen to the temptation of subscription and microtransaction models. Moreover, their customer support is excellent. I have seen many instances on their forums of developers personally getting in contact with users to assist with problems they may be having. I cannot recommend Procreate enough, and I eagerly await the developments they have planned for us.

It needs something. See this is a great great app but theres 2 things you need first thing you need is camera movement so theres like a camera option so we can make the camera move zoom in or get bigger and an option to duplicate frames faster EDIT: also this should be easy to make can you plz make an animation assist option so when you create a new frame it stays the same as the frame before so we don’t have to keep on duplicateing and copy and pasteing alotta stuff (plz put both of these things in the next update if you do it will be the best)edit:also there should be a movieclip option when we can export animations into animations say that your tryna animate an explosion you animate it and then make an animation with explosions and don’t want to animate it again so there should be an option for when you doing animations in options put in whatever category and then it should say make a movieclip and then in animation assist you should be able to press a button that says add movieclip and then we can press it and then we could move it make it bigger and make it smaller (also)we need a audio option we can speak in something and the audio will be under the keyframes and we can follow the sound and we can import music or audio from file so that would be good thank you bye

Buggy quick menu and some things need tweaking, but great app overall. Trying to use the Apple Pencil too soon after selecting a quick menu option causes it to pop up an additional time at the location of the pencil, stifling drawing. For my workflow, this is a nuisance, and this bug has persisted ever since 5x (I suspect the addition of multiple quick menu presets had something to do with it). I already contacted support and they said this is a known issue, but it has persisted for 2 months now so it feels necessary to mention. In my last review where I mentioned lack of a proper stroke stabilizer, I was told to suggest it on the forums. Procreate should however already be aware that there is large demand for said feature, as one of the largest threads in suggestions (3 years old and counting) is dedicated to it, and moreover is already marked as “considered.” Streamline is inadequate and in many cases inferior to other programs’ options; please add proper stabilization options for line art. Lastly, flipping the canvas view should not be included in undo/redo history. It gets in the way constantly and really sticks out sorely when moving from other art programs. Losing subsequent steps unintentionally because you wanted to see the piece flipped when deciding to commit changes is really annoying when it just doesn’t happen in other apps.

Love it!. I love this app. I have had this since before it cost anything to buy/download. I have used it so much as of late and it’s become my new drawing program of choice. I only have one major issue. I have disabled every touch function or gesture except the press and hold for an eye dropper tool and the pinch to zoom/rotate. However, for example when I’m trying to make a selection and I have my hand resting on the screen sometimes it senses that as me making another point in the selection. Its really frustrating. Also sometimes if I’m trying to write words and I have my hand resting on the screen it’s like the Apple Pencil cuts out and makes sorta like dashed lines. When I lift my hand it doesn’t do that at all and lines are smooth. Also sometimes if I go to start to draw and I rest my hand on the screen it will be like I’m pinching the screen to zoom or move the canvas around. Yet I’m not doing that by choice. I only started to notice this be more of a problem since one of the latest updates. Before that I had everything disabled as well and almost none of what I said above happened.

An app for the ages!!!. Every few years, new ideas and technological innovations and advancements come along that disrupt and change the way we perceive what is possible within the world we live in as well as continue to push the boundaries and limitations of the human mind. When Procreate was first launched on iOS in March of 2011, no one could have anticipated, let alone fathomed the huge success and beast of an app that it has become. Procreate continues to evolve and elevate in ways thought “impossible” before it made its debut on the AppStore and has not only consistently and easily kept up with other big name art software, it has undoubtedly become a leading competitor and top dog in the industry. Procreate is intuitive and very accommodating for professionals as well as the everyday artist and its UI is crisp and orderly, allowing anyone of any age to comfortably create. Now, Procreate has changed the game once again with its 5.2 release and the addition of 3d features, as well as a myriad of other jam-packed tools that will surely enhance the User experience. In closing, Procreate is an art app I would highly recommend to anyone and in a world where the competition is fierce, you have to learn to adapt and like the company behind the creation of Procreate, you have to remain SAVAGE!

Great art program, however…. First things first, when it comes to procreate it lacks many basic quality of life features in comparison to other mobile art programs. Free art programs, like IBIS Paint and MediBang Paint have line extraction tools which are very convenient when transferring a traditional drawing onto digital. Procreate does not have such feature, and the closest that it can do is just remove a background which usually doesn’t work well for grainy pictures of traditional art. As an art program that is popular in the professional art field, not having a feature as basic as this is frustrating. Second, the shape tool is terribly inconvenient, I’ve tried to make a rectangle for 15 minutes straight but it automatically doesn’t consider it as one and only has a poly line option. I eventually gave up and altered the polyline into a non-precise rectangle. I suggest that you add an automatic add shape bar where we could place/adjust shapes instead of only having the option for drawing one out. Another suggestion I’d like to make is to add a fill tool/brush that’s similar to the magic wand but more precise, for example; when I’m using the tool I can see the line with the color I’m outlining with and when I close the shape it instantly fills.

Great art tool - lacking essential organization.. Overall, I really love procreate as a personal and professional art tool. I’ve been using it for years, and it’s intuitive, powerful, easy to use with a ton of expansive art features, and even capabilities for custom brushes, color profiles, etc. The one thing procreate DESPERATELY needs is a better file organization system, or even the semblance of one. Adding a search bar for finding pieces. Most artists I know that use Procreate, like me, have hundreds and hundreds of pieces from their years of procreate use. Adding a search bar to find old pieces, or having a more in depth filing system would be excellent (‘Stacking’ only goes 1 layer deep, and can be tricky if not frustrating to maneuver). As well, simply adding ‘Files’ iOS app support would easily solve this issue as well. While I do appreciate Procreate’s gallery view to see all pieces, the lack of structure can be an impediment when trying to find pieces from even the past year. Filtering by name, year, tags, or even size, etc would be terrific! Again, overall, fantastic illustration tool! I’ve used it consistently for sketches and finished pieces alike over the years. The simple fix of a single search bar would easily make this a five star app. Definitely an essential for any illustrator with an iPad looking for a streamlined, comprehensive, and portable digital art tool.

Great!, but... This app is amazing, and its the only drawing app i use currently. There are only a few things that i’m not sure about. One, when you first download the app, everything is incredibly confusing. I didn’t know how to lasso, to bucket fill, or how to change the opacity of layers, but thats nothing a quick email to the (very nice) support cant fix. I just wish it was more guided on how to use things. Two, the brushes arent all that flexible to work with, excluding the lineart, sketching, airbrushing, and a few others. Some of them just look lazy and weird. There is a wide variety of brushes in different categories, but i still feel like there could be more to make it feel complete. Third, i feel like making custom brushes could be easier. Its just so hard to learn how to make them, and tbh, i still don’t know how. I also wish that you could make accounts so that if you loose your device or break it you could have all your progress saved. Otherwise, i think this app is amazing, and if you can afford it, its definitely worth every penny once you get the hang of it. Just don’t feel afraid to the email support for help!

Just Wonderful. I only learned about Procreate through my cousin, and at first I was confused with all the different and various tools I could use for the app. But after a while and browsing to learn new techniques as well as usage of the tools, I fell in love with this app. I will be honest, I always spend at least 30 minutes on it everyday! Whether it’s simple doodling, or excessive and advance arts, I run to Procreate for any digital art. 👏 One thing I would suggest you procreate developers add in the future is re-color filling a shape without affecting the WHOLE layer. It sometimes gets annoying, although that feels like a little too much of an exaggeration. What I’m saying is, just improve that little bug issue, or please tell me how to use it properly if I’m not doing so. Anyhow, I would rate this app like a 11 out of 5 if thats was a choice, but it isn’t, so giving it a 5 star for now! Thank you for this stupendous app and I definitely feel that it was real worth it to buy it for $9.99!! Thank you so much Procreate Developers!! You really opened up a HUGE door to the world of Digital Art!! ❤️

PROCREATE NOT for the novice digital artist. I’m not sure if I’m a complete idiot or it’s one of the most difficult artist apps I’ve ever tried on my iPad but there’s not even a widget or introductory message to help a person with learning about the different things this app can do I mean for someone that has only used traditional pencil and drawing pad for creating I was so excited about getting this iPad pro and the Apple Pencil and buying this amazing new artist app that has taken everyone’s artistry to new levels at least from the reviews and word of mouth that I’ve heard and read so naturally I jumped right into it with both feet and here I sit after an hour of trying and trying and trying I’m no closer to creating a digital coloring page or animating a picture I’ve already drawn on paper or even adding color or correction to one of my original pieces I did figure out how to import a drawing into the app but that’s about it I feel like an idiot…. Im not sure why I haven’t been able to make this app work for me but I have a suggestion for the next update and that’s a widget or something that will walk you through the basics of the app and some of the inner workings of the app just so someone like me can get started using the amazing digital art app and i will for sure give it 5 stars

Great! BUT a few major flaws. So I’ve been using procreate for almost a full year now. Honestly one of the best drawing apps due to the design of it. However I do have a few MAJOR gripes about the app. I’m a very particular about organization and I usually store my art in folders within folders, within other folders, and so on. Procreate obviously doesn’t have this feature since stacks are only allowed to be made. Another gripe I have is the lack of a “recently deleted” section in the app, once artworks are deleted they’re gone forever. I’ve only realized how troublesome this was because a friend of mine wanted to know what was the biggest canvas/file I have in my gallery. As I was looking through the gallery I had realized that I had accidentally deleted my “completion” stack (I don’t know when I had accidentally deleted it, but it was already too late for anything to be done, plus I hadn’t really notice it since my completion stack is at the bottom of my gallery). I am a bit bummed about it since I like saving art to see how much I’ve grown, but what can I do about it. I hope that procreate implements these features or similar ones to these problems, because it’s honestly what’s holding the app back in my opinion. The UI of the app is simple and isn’t overwhelming at all compared to other programs. Along with that they provide versatile default brushes. It’s just a great app!!….. apart from the lack of folders and recently deleted section like I mentioned.

Still iOS’s best. There are a few others that do certain things better than Procreate or have a feature or two that Procreate doesn’t have, but they lack other things that Procreate does better than even the OG king, Photoshop. IMO, it does image/canvas size and layer/layer grouping better than photoshop. I would say it does brush creation and modification better, but that’s probably the one area I’m still largely engaged in by trial and error. I painted for many years in traditional studios and still do, which is probably why I can’t quite give in to the lack of impasto texture involved at the surface where paint interacts with canvas. The UI is so clean and effective that even if I am using a different painting app I end up using Procreate in the background for the basic dynamic structural elements like free transforming, etc., importing back into the other app because it’s faster and easier. My favorite recent upgrade is the ability to import videos. I have been making the weirdest animated gifs, which is also weird since I’ve never been inspired to do anything but static image painting and collaging, proving the inspiration factor inherent in Procreate. That being said, it just became the largest app on my iPad Pro by far since the data involved in frame by frame editing can be massive. External SSDs are great for this issue.

Great app, but it’s been glitching a bit. I’ve had this app for quite a while now, and for some reason when I click on the Inking brush section, it kicks me to the Painting brush section. I can’t figure out why it’s doing that, and I’ve restarted my iPad and the app multiple times. I’m afraid to delete the app because then I might lose all of my artwork. Is there any way for me to fix this without having to reinstall the app? It’s really getting on my nerves. Other than that, this is a great app and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good digital art app. Edit: Thank you Procreate for replying! I was actually able to find a solution to this bug on the internet a bit after I originally wrote my review. I found that if you press and hold on any brush from another category and drag and drop it into the inking category, the inking brushes will open back up and you can use them again. You’ll also be able to drag and drop the brush you used to open it back into it’s original category if you would like. For anyone who may be experiencing the same bug, I hope this helped a bit. Google search can be a bit inaccurate at times, so it took me a while to find this solution.

An Amazing Program. I absolutely adore using this drawing app. I’ve never used to more “high quality” art programs such as photoshop, but after downloading this, I honestly don’t see any need to. It’s super easy to understand and get used to, and overall is just a pleasant experience to use. However, I feel that a stability tool should DEFINITELY be added in. All the other drawing programs that I’ve used in the past have had a stability tool to make your lineart more smooth, but it doesn’t seem like Procreate has one. Ordinarily, I wouldn’t mind, but I find it extremely difficult to get clean lineart out of the inking brushes (and others I’ve downloaded) and it can really be a bummer for the outcome of my art. Lately I switched over to using a pencil brush I made, but the grainy texture isn’t the same. I would definitely recommend dedicating some time to adding that feature in, but otherwise, this program is lovely! One last small thing, there’s been some glitches with deleting artwork lately? I select a piece and press delete but it just clears out everything on the canvas rather than deleting the entire thing.

Fantastic!. Haven’t used Procreate for very much yet, but what I am finding is fantastic! My only two issues so far involve creating glows and drop shadows and adding fonts. It is much more difficult to create these glows and drop shadows than it should. In order to do either, it is necessary to create a second text layer below your main text layer, and blur or spread that second layer. However, if you want to change the shadowed or glowed text, even if you just want to move it a little to get it aligned as you with with the main text layer, you have to recreate the layer anew as there seems to be no way to edit the text once you have changed it from a standard text layer. In terms of fonts, it is great that we can add extra fonts so easily, but if you add a font to the system, Procreate ignores the fonts you have added via iPadOS. This makes adding fonts to Procreate a pain because you have to add the same fonts separately to Procreate that you just put so much effort into adding to your iPad system. Apple doesn’t make it easy to add fonts, so once you’ve done it, you want ALL your apps to be able to access these fonts. Aside from these two issues, Procreate is an amazing drawing program.

Great but there could be some improvements ❤️. This app is worth your money. Unlike other apps where you have to pay each money, Procreate is a one time payment which I think is pretty nice! The app has many brushes, and you can always make your own or buy some from other people. I made many great art pieces on Procreate! It’s a nice app for IPad, and I would recommend it to other people. But…. There are some things that could use some improvements. First of all the private layer. I think that the private layer is VERY controversial. It does more harm than good. For example, somebody could trace art and nobody would know since it was a private layer. That isn’t good, and could get somebody into trouble. Also, some people who use the private layer say they use it as a reference. Well, just use the reference thing they have? It’s easy to use and much better than the private layer. Secondly, the paint bucket isn’t doing its job. It’s not filling in the things properly, even if it’s closed. Like, it will only change the things I want to fill to a different color or whatever. It’s hard to explain, but the tool bucket doesn’t work. Overall, everything else is really good! I would tell everyone to use it, as it’s a great app.

It’s wonderful!. I love Procreate so much, having a iPad Pro with a Apple Pencil works so well with this app, the price is worth buying it. Tbh I stop using my laptop for drawing since the drawing and painting feels so natural and smooth though sometimes when I try to use the short cuts it won’t work other than that it’s works like a charm. There are some things that could be worked on, color picking a color from a reference or from the color wheel isn’t the exactly what it should look like while painting with it, it’s a little bit off, though It’s not noticeable at first (it’s not a big problem at all it just something I’ve noticed while using Procreate over the years) and now the blending tool, the blending tool can be really good but sometimes the blending tool can be frustrating to work with and sometimes while blending it makes the color muddy or won’t give a nice type a texture, I know sometimes it can be what brush you use for the blending tool. It would be nice to get a better version of it, also it might be a bug or something but when I leave a painting and go back I lose some of the progress of the painting and I haft to redo what I’ve already done. Other than those small details this is the best app for everyone it’s easy to use, you can create masterpieces with it, I wouldn’t go to another drawing app, I would say THIS is a app that you should try out. Everyone from 3 to 90 years old can use this app. It’s the best app out there just get it try it out !!!!!!

Out of all the art programs I’ve used... I got an iPad Pro to replace my broken Cintiq Companion. While I have found that I love using the iPad Pro more for art, than I did with my cintiq, I thought I would eventually need to invest into an actual desktop PC to use my other programs like Clip Studio Paint (without a subscription fee), and just use Astropad with the iPad instead. But since I’ve tried out and used Procreate, that need and desire for having an actual PC to do art with other programs, has gone away. Out of all programs I’ve used in the past for art, from expensive ones like Photoshop to free ones like Krita, Procreate is the most enjoyable and easy to use program I’ve ever come across for making art. Though I will say that it was frustrating at first for me to learn Procreate, coming from a desktop background in art programs. So certain functions weren’t easily known for me to find and use right away, like I would expect to find and use in a desktop. So this required me to look things up and watch tutorials to learn where these functions are to access and use, like the quick use of flip canvas. But once I learned how things worked, its become my most favorite program to use for art. From rough concepts, to complete illustrations, I'm producing more art than I generally do on a regular basis than I had ever done in the past with other art programs, due to my enjoyment and ease of use with Procreate.

Er mer gerd awesome 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟. I’m not a great artist, but it’s so easy for me to express my little creativity using Procreate. I’m also not a pro (haha then why are you using PROcreate) but it’s so much fun to just sketch, especially because of the simple format. I have Procreate on my IPad, and usually use my Apple Pencil when I’m making art, so it feels almost like I am drawing on an actual piece of paper or a canvas, with an unlimited amount of art supplies at my fingertips. I do have a couple complaints/request/suggestion however... could you please add an easy to find help button that has a list of how to use / find different features? That would be extremely helpful, especially for people like me that have a bad habit of randomly pressing buttons until they find the right one 😅 Also sometimes when I finish doing a drawing or anything and I go back to the gallery it freezes and crashes the app, but I’m always able to open is again to find my art saved perfectly fine 👍🏻But besides the fact that sometimes it can be a little frustrating, I think Procreate is an awesome way of making art, no matter your skill level. Thank you so much for this amazing app! Hope all is well, Kat.

Love it - would love to see music in the animation feature. As the title says, I can’t express how much I love this app. The layout is simple and intuitive, more than any other platform. Everything flows so well and the amount of brushes they have in the library is insane. I was able to start with the ground up with digital art, and easily recommend this app to anyone who asks or is considering it, you won’t be disappointed!! One of the best thing about this app is how they’re constantly making updates, and Procreate 5 rocked my world. I genuinely appreciate this team for being so on top of things and continuously making it better! The animation feature recently allowed me to try animating and although it’s simple it has all I need - except for being able to import music to animate with. I don’t have anything to bargain with, but I can guarantee I will definitely sell my soul to this app if you allow this feature. Just putting it out there, if any admin reads this and even considers this as an option just know you would be able to make all my animating dreams come true, and I’m sure countless others. Procreate is my preferred animation app, and I’ve tried way too many others, but without music, I’m limited on what projects I can use this for. Either way, I love this app and would highly recommend!

Plz fix bugs, add a text tool and shape tool. This is the superior digital art program for iPad, but it’s missing a few fundamental features that nearly all others have to offer! I have to edit my comic pages in another app for text and speech bubbles. I would like to shortcut this step by just having a complete app. Give me proper shape tools and text tools! Selection is too much of a hassle and the auto shape function doesn’t create perfect shapes about 80 percent of the time. Though it’s a handy tool, I want a conventional shape tool as well. Secondly, the app has been acting really weird on me lately. When I open the app, it opens a completely random file as opposed to opening me up to the main selection menu. That is annoying, but doesn’t prevent me from using the app unlike this next one. When I add a new layer, the app freezes up and crashes. And I’m not using an excessive amount of layers, the resolution is small too. Sometimes when I’m switching from eraser back to pen or changing layers, my pen size suddenly gets ginormous. I have to undo the line and then do a scribble to fix it. It’s extremely annoying. Not very much of an inconvenience until it happens frequently enough for me to notice, and I just wish it would end bc I must have wasted accumulated hours just scribbling to fix the pen back to its proper size. The app didn’t always treat me this way, so I’m not sure what changed. But I want it to work as seamlessly as it did almost a year ago.

Magical App and a go-to for my Creative Director husband. This app is the only one my husband uses as Creative Director for a very successful, exploding social platform. His art has been a big factor in the success of the company…in the words of the CEO/Founder, with whom he is good friends. He has become buddies with some very famous people through that platform; much of those online interactions have begun through his artwork. (He has also gotten to know some celebrities by arguing with them, 😂 He has gotten into online “wars” with very famous people on his social platform and others. It blows my mind! Imagine fighting with a celebrity! These battles sometimes go on and on, because it turns out they are as equally hard-headed as my husband 🤣 He sometimes wins them over, and they end up friending each other like something out of flipping Forrest Gump. He has formed creative partnerships with some people you would not believe. Procreate is part of this! Oh, btw side note: I have to say here that one celebrity, a really likable one, was a friend of my hubby’s on Twitter. My hubby Tweeted something on there from his own head that was hilarious and popular. Three days after that, this aforementioned celebrity copied it word-for-word in a Tweet. It immediately went viral and was quoted in different places in the media. While my hubby wasn’t thrilled about it, he viewed it as a compliment and was like, oh well. He is so laid back. I, however, was indignant about it. 😂

If only the exporting was better. This is definitely a decent app altogether, but the two problems I’ve been having is the quality of images after you export them and the animation. The art often looks great quality while your making it and in you procreate gallery, but once you go through the process of saving the image to your photo gallery, in a file, or sending it to someone, the drawing looks SO much more pixelated. I use my drawing tablet for procreate so it might be different on other devices, but I know for mine the image quality really ruins 5e whole experience as I can’t send a good looking art piece to anything with it still looking good before. My second problem is he never I try to use the animation feature and try to export it as animated pdf it not only has low quality, but majority of the time it DOESN'T EXPORT AS A VIDEO. This has definitely been a problem in multiple situations as I’ve only been able to export a working animation when doing gifs. It might be something that I’m doing wrong but I’ve been having this problem since I got this app and I REALLY need it fixed. If it weren’t for those unfortunate problems this would be a 5 star app. The problems(specifically the animation one) are fairly infuriating for me and ruin my overall experience with the app.

Love it, but needs current updates. Been using this for quite a few years now. Love the App, however I noticed overtime rarely get any updates on bug issues. And it seems like every couple days there will be a freeze up in the midst of drawling. Or doing a fill in any parts that are drawn will leave a thin negative line between the outline and what was filled. also would love to see some update in the future with the text other than using warboard to store to be able to actually arch without having to use other apps to do so. And even using a high dpi and then moving or skewing the picture not have a new girl pixelated and have the redraw it all over again. for the most part I love what propriate has given for such a small amount but at the same time I would pay $50 to 100 for this app if it would include more. For being a one time payment as low as it is and getting as much as I’ve gotten out of this app I do think that says a lot about a company that made the software so I don’t wanna completely be negative. But if it takes more money to get more things included in procreate I think it would definitely be worth it as long as it’s not a monthly rate or yearly rate.

I love the app but. I adore this app. It gives me all that I need and more when it comes to completing illustrations. But for the past weeks there has been an error where whilst I’m drawing, the app would just close. I figured i would just give the device and app a break and come back to it later. And usually this would fix the problem. But then another similar problem arose. It would again close, but also remove a square from my illustration. It didn’t matter if there were separate layers. Anything in the square was erased and simply showed the background white. After struggling with this problem for a while I figured that maybe I had too many projects on the app and therefore causing the malfunction. I deleted unnecessary files and the program began to function quicker and the square problem stopped. But that was not the end. I am now coming from another problem that takes the cake. I completed a sketch on one layer and began to work on a second layer. All of a sudden the app closes, and not a square, not even one layer. No, everything I worked on disappeared. Every line on both layers, gone. Of course the undo or redo function is enabled because of the app closing. I really do love this app, so I plead that these problems are fixed. Otherwise I simply cannot trust it, in fear of losing a piece again.

Love it, but have been experiencing glitches lately. I’ve been using Procreate for a couple of years now, and I’ve been loving it. It has really helped my development as a digital artist since it is generally very easy to use and a polished drawing/painting experience. However, over the past couple of months it has been glitching to the point where I’m hesitant to start new projects except for commissions I’ve already been doing in Procreate. When I’m drawing or painting, I’ll frequently get lines that skip or come out squiggly, even when I’m using a consistent amount of pressure. The most annoying is when random lines start shooting out of the pen, usually at the end of a stroke. It got to a point where it even changed the opacity of my brush and closed me out of the app without me doing it. I’ve taken my iPad to the Apple Store and the diagnostics didn’t detect any hardware or screen issues, but I factory reset my iPad to make sure it wasn’t a software issue and the problem persists as much as it ever has. I still really love the app, when it’s working properly. It’s just a shame that these glitches are annoying at best and a hinderance at worst.

Amazing app for all levels of drawing experience. I’ve been using Procreate since they first launched way back and watching it grow from a powerful drawing tool even pre-Apple pencil to the accessible and powerful program it is now is incredible. I highly recommend the animation and internal time lapse recording functions as well as their rulers and drawing guides. Some feedback: you may have heard it from others but the aliasing on the transformation tool can use some work as it’s a bit disruptive to workflow when transforming and warping line art that gains a distinct fuzz. Also, the ability to transform or adjust multiple layers at once would make Procreate as robust as other competitive programs. Really appreciate the multi-point warp option and the ability to save your selections for easy access though! Additionally, not sure if this is in the works or not but being able to have separate layers per animation frame would also be amazing. Colours become much easier to apply (and edit!) to animation frames when they are on separate layers. Really love what the team does, thank you for your hard work!!

Almost perfect art software. I‘ve had procreate for almost two years now and I love it. It is my primary art software where I do most of my work. With the last update, while I was excited about the animation feature, I would‘ve rather seen some more essential tools for the standard digital artist. These would be: The pen tool (obviously not vector but rather in order to make crisp flawless selections- essential to my art!) Rulers and French curves Shapes The quick line or quick circle function (where you hold down for a straight line or circle) would be better to be replaced by an actual shapes tool with straight lines and eclipses as well as squares etc. It‘s too imprecise and fiddly for serious work and also the whole pause before it corrects is bothersome. These tools would make all the difference to my work and many others too. So many people are forced to use other software as well as procreate when ideally it could be done on this app! As for me I painstakingly work around it but it could be so much more enjoyable! Hopefully you will consider some of these additions, thanks for everything you’ve done so far. I do love the app a lot.

Good, but there is a problem. Hi! I’m talking about procreate, it’s amazing, my drawing has gotten better ever since I’ve used it, but when I use the colour drop there is a HUGE problem!!!! And you guys need to fix it!!!! When I use the colour drop it goes everywhere and I cannot move my screen what so ever! I cant even undo it??? YOU NEED TO FIX THE PROBLEM!!!!!! It has been annoying me and I had to restart and such a good drawing I was doing. I was doing the legs and had to fill it in, I used the colour drop and all of a sudden it WENT EVERYWHERE!!!!! I had to restart it because you could barely see it, I tried again and it LOOKS WEIRD all the colour’s are not good and it just looks all YELLOW!!!!!! Please fix this problem it bugs me so much! And another question, when I’m drawing it just randomly kicks me out??? I’ve tried resetting it but doesn’t work????? Please fix these problems I’ve tried everything. I’ve had this for almost a year, please help!!

amazing app although some faults. I still recommend :). i am still pretty new to procreate, i do not have an ipad pro or apple pen. i have a cheap stylus from kmart and a 2017 ipad. it still works fine, i’d really like to hear if it would change my experience with ipad pro and apple pen though. procreate is absolutely amazing, there are a wide range of brushes, good for any style of art, i would recommend this application. it is actually quite cheap for what it offers. although sometimes i will be drawing and the next minute it has glitched me back to my home screen, is that just because i don’t have ipad pro or it is a different issue? but overall an amazing app, if you enjoy digital art, or want to get into digital art, this is the app for you. as i said, i’d like to know if it would change my experience with apple pen and i pro and why? would it be a good investment to make?

I Love Procreate, but.... I absolutely love procreate, it is such a great app for any iPad. I love all the ways to select a colour to make it your comfort style, and the perfect range of brushes, but I’ll get to the point that I wrote this. It gets pixelated. I have seen some apps where it doesn’t get pixelated, and I thought maybe you can try. I don’t know the names of those apps but I can research if you would like! It kind of annoys me when I have to draw that one small thing, then when I do, it turns all into little squares. I really don’t mind if you can’t fix this, because no matter what I will always love this app! I understand that you probably didn’t do this when in the process of making the app because it was difficult. Thank you. :)

Amazing but could add some things. This new update is amazing and I love it! You guys must’ve been working very hard on it and your work has paid off because everyone I’ve shown the new update to is getting procreate😃! Though the update is awesome there are some things that aren’t working or could be added in a future update. 1) my “recent colours” isn’t working even though I have seen other people with it. It would be really helpful so that I don’t always have to use the eye dropper and it would be very useful for some new brushes I might be buying to import into procreate were the colour will come out darker then what is should as that is the brushes nature. 2) I think it would be a good idea to add some sort of way to move the background on animation assist and add a new background when animating because now if I want the background to change/move I have to keep drawing and moving it on the layers which can get tiring. 3) maybe with the water colour brushes, they could have a water animation and bleed kinda thing like in other apps but they are to expensive and don’t have as many features as this one so it would be awesome for them to be more realistic. Other then those three things this app is the best! Thank you for working hard on the update as it is the best update and now I love procreate even more. Thank you 😁

maybe one thing you can add?. I love this app!! it's so easy to use and suits a lot of my needs when drawing. There's many brushes, like, over 100 at least, which is better than nearly every mobile drawing app!! other programs just have the simple 6 tools on the side, which i find really annoying. the one thing that would make this program even better is if we could use the clipping mask on multiple layers. for example say i've finished a drawing, and i wanna add some lighting or shading. i want to use the clipping mask so it fits perfectly, but i can't use it on every separate layer at the same time!! i now have to duplicate the artwork and merge every layer so i can add the shading, which is pretty inconvenient and takes up a little more storage :(( i would love if you could do something like that where the clipping mask works for all or multiple layers!! adding on to that, maybe a way where you can colour 'in the lines' without going over the lineart? i know some PC/computer programs do that and it would be pretty useful :))

New taper or auto shape update messed up brush behavior. This is my all time favourite app, but now I’m finding it frustrating to use because the new features have effected the brush dynamics. The strokes used to be clean and intuitive for most brushes. Now there are spacing issues you have to adjust manually for a consistent stroke and the airbrushes are behaving like the gross ink brushes which seem to follow your pen around in a weird organic way, as if alive, rather than tapering off nicely so you can blend properly. I use this for work and these setbacks slow everything down. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Please do something about the brush issues. I was so keen for tapering updates but this update hasn’t resolved any tapering issues for concept artists, just made it more vector friendly for graphic designers. Sigh.

Amazing app!. I just started using ProCreate and already I've seen a huge improvement of the quality of my drawings. For the last few years I've been using a different drawing app for iPad, and the quality just wasn't the same. I genuinely thought I was doing something wrong, but seriously, after using ProCreate, it made me realise that I really needed to get a new app. I now feel so much better about my drawings and even feel like I could start doing commissions. I'll definitely be recommending this to friends who want to draw on the iPad! The reason I give it four stars, however, is just because there are a few things I've already noticed that could definitely use some adjusting to make using the app better. Biggest thing is the reference layer. Amazing feature, but it would be good to be able to have multiple reference layers, if that is what's necessary to be able to fill in an object in a different layer. Sometimes it just isn't practical to use one layer as a reference, especially when incorporating colour into drawings. Second thing would be the smudging tool. It works alright, and I've been able to get the result I want so far, but I would highly recommend an actual blending tool being incorporated into the app. It would just add a quality to blending that the smudging tool can make a bit of a challenge to get. Overall though, amazing app and I am excited to continue using it!

Great App, but will there be an animation option?. This app works brilliantly for people looking to get into digital art. It runs smoothly and paired with the Apple Pencil it is the closest thing I have found to the paper and pencil drawing experience. One question I do have however, is will there ever be an animation tool? There are many apps for iOS that allow you to draw frame by frame, however none of them are as easy to use and/or give as good as results as procreate. Currently, I have to draw each frame separately in this app to make sure they are the best they can be, and then transfer each frame to a stop motion app to combine. If there was an animation tool in procreate, it would be so much easier. No other app has a drawing experience quite so crisp, and being able to do all my art and animating work in one app would be incredible. I believe making this adjustment would be very worthwhile as I’m sure many other animators agree that at the moment, in order to animate, you often have to sacrifice the quality of the work as most animating apps are mediocre at best. Thank you for your time.

Use it every day!!. Amazing practical extremely diverse application. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves to draw!! I have had some pretty show stopping issues in the last couple of weeks though. My iPad has been intermittently failing to respond to touch input (mostly hand not Apple Pencil). I have disabled palm support as we read that your (superior) palm support fights apples in the latest iOS update, but it hasn’t helped. I’m at a loss and finding myself very frustrated. I ran a factory reset also, this didn’t fix it either although it seems to be happening with less frequency. Any suggestions to fix it or an idea on when this might be fixed through an update would be awesome. Workflow has been a lot slower since this started happening.

⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️Amazing, but a few faults⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️⭕️. This app is amazing, and a bit cheap for what it offers, but it’s incredible. But there is a fault or two that I’ll explain. The first is colour. I try to recreate a colour that I want using the syringe tool, but it still gives me a completely different colour. This is quite irritating, and makes it hard to draw. If a developer could possibly explain what I’m doing wrong, or if it’s a setting I need to change, please explain. Another thing, is the size. Even 10% size is incredible large, and in really don’t understand why 100% is needed if it takes up the whole page. Otherwise, incredible app, I do recommend, though it is still quite difficult for people like me who are only getting started, so I recommend a simpler app to begin with before moving onto procreate.

Waa I love this so much!!. I’ve been using this app for ages, but I’ve just recently gotten way more into art, and honestly I love the app so much! It’s helped my art improve in so many ways, both on paper and on my iPad! The app I used to use for drawing had a really glitchy fill bucket option which is honestly why I chose to change apps. I was ecstatic when I tried the fill option for procreate, as it’s smooth and much easier to control! The lasso and layers are also amazing!! I only have one problem with the app (about the amount of layers allowed for animating) and it honestly isn’t much of a problem because I don’t animate often, as I don’t enjoy it. Altogether I love this app so much and I’m trying to get my friends to try it ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Awesome! Definitely worth the price!. I have only been using this app for less than a year, but it’s been amazing the whole time! Starting off, I was terrified that the price was like a subscription at first, but then I found out it was only a one time pay, which is great for my convenience! I heard about it, and when I heard it included art AND animation, I just had to get it! It has heaps of features, and all the brushes are great to use. Even though everything is great and awesome quality, there’s a little bit of critical feedback I’d like to give as well (all though I don’t think it should take down a single star!). With the animation, I feel as if it would be nice to add an audio feature. I understand why you wouldn’t add it in or anything, the app already has a lot of options. But I’d say a lot more people would buy it if it had audio in the animations! That’s the only reason I switch to FlipaClip in animation. One more thing is the fill bucket. I enjoy how fancy it is, and how much easier it is the fill a specific spot. But in some ways I believe the traditional “tap to fill” bucket works better. But I don’t think that really matters, since the whole app is amazing anyway. I used to use ibisPaint, a free drawing app, and I can say that ever since I got Procreate I only made my digital art there. So many things I love about this app, and I’m overall so happy that I bought it! 😊💖✨👍

Love this app!! Only one problem though... I’ve had this app for just over a year now, and I do really love it. The brushes and canvas selections are great, there’s a ton of helpful features that make drawing with Procreate super easy and enjoyable! However, I do think that being able to undo things even after exiting the canvas would be helpful. Sometimes I’ll go to the gallery to check something else/take a break and work on something else, and when I come back, I can’t undo previous brush strokes. It’s not really a huge deal, but it can be frustrating if I want to copy a layer I already merged with another. Sometimes it’s possible to just select it and copy it like that, but if it’s on top of something else on the same layer it’s impossible to quickly get it separate.

Read this if you are unsure of buying procreate!. I love procreate and you should too. Procreate has made art so much easier and it is defiantly worth buying. I understand that it cost quite a lot of money in buying this but it is so worth it. Even if you are a beginner at art you will get use to procreate because it makes art so much easier. I know I have repeated myself quite a lot but procreate is worth buying! If you are an artist you should buy procreate because it I cheeper than buying all the art supplies you need for traditional art. In procreate there are so much brushes to choose from plus you can make your own. There are more features but I won’t tell you, you just have to figure it out yourself buy buying procreate. To the creator of procreate I have a question. Does the filter thing in the new update wok on an iPad mini?

New update really glitchy!!. I’ve been using Procreate for years and have never had a problem with it. It has always ran perfectly and never had any glitches with it. When I got the new update however, I noticed at first whenever I pressed the undo button, it could take up to ten seconds before processing and actually undoing. Then the next time I went on the app, it was having a lot of trouble loading any of my drawings (including just a blank canvas) and would be sitting there for a few minutes without letting me interact with it. I could go back to the gallery while this was happening and try loading other drawings but same thing would happen. Now it has evolved to the point where I’ll open the app and it will just stay as a plain black screen for about thirty seconds before crashing, basically not even letting me do anything. This is now happening every time I open the app. I really love this app and have had it over three years now without any problems, but it’s really sad to see this happening to such an amazing program, so please try and fix it!

I desperately want this to be as good as desktop apps. As an artist the portability of being able to draw and create on the go is very appealing. Procreate is so close to being perfect as a substitute for desktop apps such as Photoshop, it’s just missing integral features that make the desktop setup much more efficient, and make me go back to using my desktop setup even if it’s less enjoyable than Procreate. The small yet time saving features I desperately want added are an ability to customise the colour tab, I want to be able to change the colour circle to a colour triangle, and to add h/s/b to the colour square tab. As well as the ability to quickly view my artwork in black and white, Photoshop has the ‘proof setup’ feature where you just press a hot key to view the image in b&w, this seems minor but is such a time saver. Also being able to use Procreate on my Mac, either through my iPad as a drawing tablet, or using a separate drawing tablet such as a Wacom, the relatively small screen real estate of an iPad compared to a desktop is significant. I want to love Procreate, and I want to be able to use it for everything, but without these features I am unable to.

Greatest art app ever!. This application puts adobe to shame. It’s user friendly and a powerful artist tool. I feel a little guilty that I paid my $15 aud a few years ago on my first iPad Pro and the dev’s at procreate keep supporting the app and improving it while I have upgraded to a new iPad. These guys deserve some more money for the work they’ve put into this app over the years to improve it. Unlike the thieves at adobe who charge a monthly subscription that an amateur hobbits artist like myself can not afford or justify the expense. This app has been there through my journey to becoming a better artist and has assisted me along the way with amazing tools that give my work a level of professionalism in digital art I could only dream of. Many thanks to the Procreate development team, you guys ROCK.

I LOVE this app. Procreate is my main reason for having an iPad Pro. Having a mobile pro-level drawing app has motivated me to pick up drawing again and I’ve never drawn this much, because now I can do it on the couch or on the go without being tied to my desk. I started using Procreate five years ago, and the developers have steadily added more and more amazing features and I’m really excited to see what they’re going to release next. They’re also active on their forums, so it’s great to see that they actually focus their resources on the things users request most (if only they weren’t so dang secretive about upcoming releases.....). The price is insanely fair too, so anyone who’s even remotely interested in drawing shouldn’t even think twice about getting this app.

LITTERALLY THE BEST APP EVER. So me being a student and needing to get posters done and art lessons too, I needed an app that would be fun to use and would get me good grades so I was patrolling the AppStore for an app that would tick both box’s but I couldn’t find one. Then all of my friends had this app called procreate so I checked it out but then I saw that is was $15 and I was like no way, but one of my friend said I will pay for it and if you don’t like it in two days then you don’t have to pay me back but if I liked in 2 days then I would pay her the $15. So I got procreate and did an assignment that was worth 25% and I got a high distinction! So I quickly drove to my friends house and gave her $30. Anyway so the point is that procreate is the best and the brushes and the pallets and everything is the best and to those of you who are reading this comment and are unsure whether to buy it do it because it is soooooooo worth it! P.s - developer if you are reading this could you please add audio but if you can’t that is totally ok I just want to make a proper animation.

Fantastic! just a few bugs and a request. Hi i've been using procreate for years and absolutely love it. I would like if you could use the continue filling while still showing frames of animation, it would cut down a lot of time colouring frames and would make it easier. While I'm at it, there are a few bugs when animating. For some reason you'll be in the middle of something and the app will crash. When colouring with the continue filling, sometimes when you tap it doesn't allow you to undo which has caused me to ruin entire frames and having to redo it. When you export your animation somewhere and come back, it shows all frames as empty until you exit your canvas and go back in. Other than a few little things, I love this app so much and I haven't found one i've liked more. Thank You.

Awesome, flexible app!. I bought this app today having high expectation as I had heard it was exceptional from many friends who already use it. I was very excited and once I downloaded it, I immediately started checking out all of the features. I used Ibis Paint previously to draw, FlipaClip prior to that and I must say, while Procreate has what feels like a never ending supply of options, it’s very hard to know what does what if you’re new to art. I can appreciate how Ibis provides a tutorial and explanation when you first start out with the app, and considering this app has even more opertunities for new options, I feel a quick tutorial would be very helpful. The tools in general are very impressive in general, but I feel the fill bucket draws me away a little from this feature. It is far to difficult and complex to figure out and I feel the option to just ‘click and fill’ would be more conventional and easy. Otherwise, it’s a very advanced app!

Amazing, but frustrating.. I bought an iPad Pro specifically to get pro create, it has everything I need to get my ideas from my head to the canvas quickly and easily. Brushes are amazing and the workflow is easy and fun. However after the most recent update to version 4 the app constantly freezes whilst I’m in the middle of drawing, sometimes I will have my pen on the screen for a while wether it be colouring or doing linework and it’s quiet frustrating to lose that spontaneous idea in a matter of seconds. Not only does it freeze for about 15 seconds but it then tries to correct its mistake and starts deleting previous lines and colours that I’ve done, without being able to re-do and get this back. At first I lived with it because I love this app so much, and I still do. But recently it’s become quite impossible to use. I hope they find a fix because this app is almost perfect and I plan on using it for many years to come. That aside it’s worth every penny, just not for the impatient!

Animation?. Ok I can’t say how AMAZING this app is, I have no words on describing the detail and how smooth everything on it is! I have a suggestion that maybe a future option but if Procreate allowed animation, my head would EXPLODE literally, when I first found this app suggested by a friend I was mind blown, gosh I imagined what it would be with animating features! I would even buy it again for the animation add on! Unfortunately it doesn’t have it but I’m here to just say for the most of us users that a animation feature would be an over the top accent to add in the app! Thank you so much for creating it I’ve been there since a portion of the begging and no matter what this app is a winner for me! I hope one day animation will be added but until then, my head is still attached to my body 😂

Absolutely amazing! Would 100% recommend if you’re thinking about buying.. I’ve been using this app for almost a year now (could’ve probably wrote a review earlier) and oh can I tell you, Procreate is definitely worth buying! After buying it I got really scared thinking that it could only be a subscription, but then I figured out the magnificent truth. Fifteen dollars is so worth it. This app is great for every kind of art, whether it be cartoonish or realistic, it’s easy to do it on Procreate. Me, being a guy more into realism, really appreciates all the brushes. Also love the animation feature that was added. I’m an animator and love doing both drawing the frames for an animation and taking photos for the frames. They’re both fun ways to animate, great ways to take up time and now I don’t have to annoy everyone else by trying to animate physical objects. “You’re messing up the lighting.” “You’re in the frame.” I’d say, but now I don’t have to. And I would like it if you added an audio feature. Taking the frames and putting them in my stop motion animation software then adding the audio can be frustrating sometimes. Anyway I’m really appreciative to the developers of this app, glad I found it and bought it.

Vector files ?. Iv enjoyed useing this app and haven’t found many problems at all !very simple and easy to use ! Currently tho I am trying to share my designs with other designs so I can get merch and clothing made the problem I’m having is I can’t send my design in a vectors file I feel like this is something that should be added to allow people to do this I have been useing this app for about 3 years now and don’t see any reason to use another app until now that I can’t send a vector file .. Is this something coming for a future update or something you guys are working on ? I’d like to continue to use procreate but feel like it would be easyer to learn another app that allows me to do vectors files if this isn’t something that will change in the future

New update issues. I really don’t like the new update…. Everything is glitchy and the motion is really stiff. For example, when I click into an existing artwork, it would go straight into it (whereas the older version used to have a softer transition). This is not the biggest issue however - my biggest problem is with the lasso tool - before when I selected an area and pressed “remove” on the menu at the bottom, it would naturally select whatever that was outside of what I cut out using the lasso. HOWEVER with the new update, for some reason pressing the “remove” button fills the remaining canvas (that was not selected using lasso) with whatever colour that was in my palette already??? How does that even work?? Even worse, when I want to move the art that’s not selected from the lasso, it moves the selected part instead. In my opinion the new version is glitchy and in general a lot worse than before the introduction of the 3D models. BRING THE OLD VERSION BACK!! :(

It’s great! But. (Idk if this will send). I love the app so much! It’s such a great drawing app and I couldn’t be happier! Though I dislike the limited layers, whenever I try ti do big pieces of artwork or even animations, it’s always so annoying and then I have many same drawing projects bevause I have to duplicate them to add new things. Another thing with the animation, it could be very nice if there was a sound guide so you could put audio on your animation. Also the new thing about hiding layers in speed painting thing is really not it. People could easily hide the fact that they traced art, and artists uses speed paints as a way to show that they originally did it, but with this option, it’s much harder to prove that it’s your art, I personally have issues with this, because I’m scared that if I ever show my art, that someone will trace it and take all the credit. Other than these things, the app is amazing! And I’ll keep using it!

Amazing! Totally worth the price!. This app is amazing for all ages, and you can design anywhere with or without internet both as a professional and as a hobby! If you want to get into learning how to start off with digital art, I totally recommend Procreate as it’s cheap and very easy to use. At first, I thought I’d have to pay $15 per month, like a subscription but it’s really just buy once, and you have the canvas to yourself. It’s great for students as you can not only just draw and colour, but also make photo collages, cool presentations and much more :) You can even animate and quick shape which is super helpful The developers have done a great job at making this app.

The best art prog on ipad. This is a really brilliant app. I’m used to drawing cartoons in a subscription based prog on a desktop and this blows it away. Like others here i bought the ipad purely to use Procreate. I love it and i love the fact it’s non subscription based and comes from Tasmania! I found the importing brush and palettes option a major plus. There are some excellent 3rd party cartoony line brushes available. Procreate doesn’t have a text option so i use one of the many text to photo apps out there. It also currently lacks a crop tool so i crop in ‘photos’. I’m using Procreate every day all day and can’t recommend it more highly. It’s never crashed or frozen on me. I can see the day is dawning when i never have to use a desktop again. A major ‘thank you’ to the guys at Savage for coming up with such a great tool.

My thoughts on procreate. Hear me out okay? Procreate is worth it’s money and is AMAZING. Though there are some few negatives I’m slowly using procreate since I had ibis paint, and on ibis paint they had a blurring tool. We have the option to create a blurring tool ourselves but there’s a bug in it ( I think ). When making a new brush, there’s an option for wet mix. When I go to wet mix I rise up the dilution. That create a glitchy affect to the app and sometimes doesn’t meet my expectations. That was just a bug, this one is a recommended feature of mine. Clipping mask in groups. There are times where I want to clip two of the same clipping mask I’m using. Though when I tried to do that, it didn’t have the option. Please take this seriously as I am a young artist with big dreams. Thanks for reading.

Outstandingly amazing app! ☺️. Oh my gosh! This app is absolutely worth buying! I’ve been using this app for about 2 months and I think that the creator(s) of this app are really happy about the reviews. I think that an app that they/he/she made has an outstandingly amazing amount of creativity! I love the way the creator made different brushes to make your art work(s) look really really realistic. I like the way they combined art work with animations. Before this I was using ibisPaint which I think is good but can add maybe a few improvements, anyways we are not making a review about this! Anyways as you all know I love this app and I think it is definitely worth the money! Enjoy the app!!!! 😉

The best drawing app for iPad hands down. I’ve been using procreate since it first came out. I didn’t do much with it at first because I had never created digital art and frankly I was lost but the support, tutorials, and intuitive interface made it easy to transition. I cannot count the number of referrals I’ve made to ... well anyone who’ll listen... and the many times I’ve gifted the app. It is because of this app that I upgraded to an iPad Pro and the Apple Pencil - Apple and procreate- a match made in heaven. Have there been bumps in the road along the way? Yes, but the procreate team are always on top of things - and frankly if you’re a Windows OS user like me, the bumps on this road are a walk in the park when compared to blue screen of death, expensive doorstops because you’d installed the software once too often and it is now useless..notwithstanding the irony of the screen of death’s involvement in your multiple rebuilds... But I digress, if you’re looking for a well priced, well supported, professional drawing app for iOS- look no further. I’ve tried all the others so I could at least have an objective view on this. They all have merits, but none are (imho) as complete, polished, advanced, supported, and maintained as Procreate.

Love this app. Edited: any plans to allow for compiling brush folders? Thanks for creating something so versatile and portable. Ive loved creating digitally when we had to move into a small place temporarily and that ended up being longer than we expected. My paper art had no room to be done so i found this with good timing. Especially when COVID hit. It’s kept me busy. I love all the new upgrades. One id like to see one day is a search on projects. If ive taken time to name them and put things into collections, id love a search option to find them again. Another is to be able to create brush folders so that the same types of brushes can be collected into the same folder. When i buy new collections, id like to be able to put either all the creators brushes in one collection as they add new ones. Or be able to put all my watercolor collections, or alcohol ink collections, or body stamp collections into major folders so that im not scrolling through 200 brush collections trying to find what Im looking for. Right now i just put similar collections next to eachother but that makes a huge listing. Is that the best that can be done? Or am i missing something?

Absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this app, but a one little thing... Again, I adore this app!! I think I’ve had it for a couple of years now and it’s been the pinnacle of my art. I’ve never had a better program to do my art works onto until I found this app from a friend! (Even convinced me to get a new iPad with an Apple pen 👀) But with the newer update there was one thing added I was super excited for! And that was the reference option, where you can add an image on the sidelines without actual placing it onto a layer and wasting it. But when I got to use it, I wanted to scale it down slightly since when I zoom in, it takes almost the full page, but was disappointed to find out I couldn’t do such a thing, and I just went back to placing them back onto a seperate layer. I haven’t a clue if there is an option to Scale it down since I didn’t spend as much time with it unfortunately. But with that complaint aside, everything else is perfect!! I have high hopes for this app and it’s exceeding even my amateur expectations! Glad I’m apart of this gorgeous community and team! Thank you so much for all the things you’ve given to us.

The definitive creators app for iPad - With one exception.... If you’re on the fence about downloading Procreate, my suggestion would be to just go for it! You’re not likely going to find the same quality or value for money experience in other apps on the App Store. Procreate is a one time purchase, full feature drawing app with included animation features. It comes with a huge selection of pre-made brushes and the ability to create and import your own alongside a broad range of brush customisation settings. To try to even include every feature that comes included in Procreate would be a challenge so, my friend, I’d recommend just jumping straight in and finding them all out for yourself. Though, as a single critique, there is only one feature missing which would truly round out the entire creative capabilities of the app. The one thing I’d like to see the developers add is audio import and basic audio mastering support for animations. I understand this is no small task as it would require an overhaul to the current animation features, which are only quite recent themselves. I also understand that the current animation features are only a means to an end to appease any users who want to use the app to animate, as Procreate is marketed as a digital art app. Again, this being said, I as a user would like to see the app develop to accommodate as many creative individuals as possible.

Awesome! But one issue. I love Procreate because of all of the brushes and paper sizes and special effects, not to mention the time lapse video and animation gifs. I like how you can drag and drop colour to fill in a space because at the start I didn’t know that you could and it took for ever to colour everything in. There was only two things that I didn’t really like was that I use Procreate on an older version of an iPad that I got around 2014 and I am not sure if this factors in but I couldn’t get the animation feature for some reason. I had all the other recent updates like text but I could only make gifs. I had been really looking forward to this update but I couldn’t access it. My friend sent a screenshot with a photo of the button animation assist but it hasn’t shown up on my iPad yet. I have updated my software and checked for updates on the app but there isn’t any and it is really disappointing. The other thing was that I couldn’t find a button that you can use to find any gaps so that the fill bucket button doesn’t flood the whole canvas. Otherwise, I would definitely recommend this to others and have a really fun creative experience on this app.

Colour palette trouble. Hi, my name is Marie and I’m 15. I got into digital art a few years ago and I've just bought myself an iPad so I can use it to draw and do school work. got this app after a few friends recommended it to me and so far its been great. The only problem I've had is sometimes the colour wheel changes and the colours are dull and I cant get the colours I want. The first time it happened I deleted the app an downloaded it again but I lost everything I had drawn. Though it did fix the problem. It happened again but only when I choose the comic canvas. I've tried to change it back to the original colour wheel but nothing works. I don't know if this is the right platform to ask but I would like to know how I can change it back. I hope this made sense and you know what I’m talking about. Other than that small problem this app is fantastic.

Really good. I think procreate works well for me and I don’t think there’s anything majorly wrong with it. The new colour drop feature definitely speeds things up. Animating in Procreate is easier than animating in some actual animation apps (Or maybe just the one I used don’t get animation desk it’s so bad) but the only thing I have with Procreate is I’ve used sketches school and there’s this tool (The cutter) that when you draw a circle or any other shape that joins together you can move anything within that shape around your drawing. It’s the exact same thing as the mouse in that bar at the top of your screen but it works for the area you choose and not being stuck with just moving the whole frame. I don’t know if implementing that would be considered plagiarism or not but if it would be then could you add the same thing but instead of moving it around you just get the option of adding it to another frame or making a new frame out of the drawings within the shape (Exact same size it would be bad if it expanded the whole screen). It would make drawing on the wrong layer (One of the worst things about digital drawing) SO much more manageable.

Wonderful app!. Great app! Awesome for any kind of professional work, very simple and easy to navigate making it great for beginners, fantastic drawing quality and the number of tools and brushes is astonishing. For the one time only price of like 20 bucks it’s really great! Importing brushes and fonts is also and option if you don’t like the given brushes, but there’s just about anything you could need. If you’re tired of “free” drawing apps and are looking for actual quality, please get procreate! Take some time to learn how to draw with the app and you won’t ever want to go back. The pressure sensitivity for apple pencils is beautiful and digital painting is also supported with various paint brushes. Good job!

Stability issues, getting stuck in transforms, random crashes. Still the best.. Love procreate and use it as my main drawing program, as of late however I’m finding it less than stable. Regular crashes, closing randomly as well as getting stuck transforming selection and unable to exit transforming to continue drawing resulting in having to close and open again. In general it’s just crashing a lot more often. Fantastic program however minus the stability issues. There’s also missing a few abilities lacking compared to other drawing programs that can be a little frustrating keeping you from just using procreate. I’d love if transforms could be symmetrical, if you could do tile mirroring (as in x and Y are mirrored so you can make tiles ie sprite work for example), there’s filter abilities missing too, can’t think of everything off the top of the head. In general though most of the stuff I’d love and nice to haves rather than required. In general I’d love stability to be improved as well as battery use improvements. Lot of faith in Savage though, these guys continually make this program awesome with each update.

Oh my fluffing GAWD. Hey! It's Glitch here! I just want to say a HUGE thanks for this amazing digital art application that is highly addictive and has high performance and a huge variety of textured brushes! I recently got an apple pencil gen 2, and I had to get a new ipad Lol. On my old ipad, I didn't have as many brushes, but now, I just found more brushes! I love procreate, and its amazing for my furry drawings! I love how you can make your own brush sets and brushes, and can import brushes and brush sets! I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to do digital art and maybe even get some bit coin! It's is totally worth it for 16 bucks! To me, it's worth 20 bucks! The brushes are extremely unique, and I love how you can project your canvas in screen mirroring! I love this. I Am addicted to this! I love it soo much! Thank you SO MUCH for reading too! And thank you for wasting your beautiful life force reading a probably useless review!

Procreate: Bring your dreams to life!. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• As a young student attending a film school to become one of the next generation animators and and graphic designers. This app is like a dream come true! I use it in my spare time to create cartoon characters, (like the characters in Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego) that I will eventually turn into movie-style characters with detail, like Katie in the Mitchells VS the Machines. It’s great value for the money. At first, as a student, I worried that it would be a subscription. But when it turned out to be a one-time payment, I was delighted! This app has also been really useful for some of the work I’ve been assigned. ‘Make a short advertisement for an original movie, ending with a cliffhanger.’ I’ll use this app to create most of the characters, and I can green screen character’s backgrounds, putting them into an awesome place. I also LOVE making short animations. For instance, a character jumping from cloud to cloud a few times on floating islands in the sky. I have not one negative thing to say about this app! But I do have a suggestion, it would be great if you could add an audio feature. I am currently using a completely different app to put audio in, and it always sounds clunky and muffled. I absolutely LOVE this app and I have gotten all of my friends to purchase it. 💜

Amazing app! Definitely worth it!. I have only been using this app for less than a year, but it's been amazing the whole time! Starting off, I was terrified that the price was like a subscription at first, but then I found out it was only a one time pay, which is great for my convenience! I heard about it, and when I heard it included art AND animation, I just had to get it! It has heaps of features, and all the brushes are great to use. Even though everything is great and awesome quality, there's a little bit of critical feedback I'd like to give as well (all though I don't think it should take down a single star!). With the animation, I feel as if it would be nice to add an audio feature. I understand why you wouldn't add it in or anything, the app already has a lot of options. But I'd say a lot more people would buy it if it had audio in the animations! That's the only reason I switch to FlipaClip in animation. One more thing is the fill bucket. I enjoy how fancy it is, and how much easier it is the fill a specific spot. But in some ways I believe the traditional "tap to fill" bucket works better. But I don't think that really matters, since the whole app is amazing anyway. I used to use ibisPaint, a free drawing app, and I can say that ever since I got Procreate I only made my digital art there. So many things I love about this app, and I'm overall so happy that I bought it!

Highly recommend, but…. I’ve owned this app for about two years now, and I can assure you that you’ll get your money’s worth! It has a variety of brushes to use and there’s a lot of tools to enhance your artworks! It’s really helped me develop my art, and I’m really glad that I chose to get this app. Although I think this app is great, it does have a few downsides. When you delete an artwork you can’t get it back. Yesterday I accidentally deleted a sketch which I thought I didn’t need - Just after did I realise that I had about 14hrs worth of doodles hidden in the layers. I tried searching everywhere on how to recover it, but I found out that there isn’t a way to get it back. It was really unfortunate and I hope the developers are able to do something about it. Maybe make a recently deleted folder? This one isn’t as important, but it would be nice to be able to make stacks inside of stacks, to make it more organised. Other than that, it’s a really great app and I’d definitely recommend it to digital artists.

Game-Changer!. April 20, 2023 Last year, around this time, I had just bought my iPad and started using procreate. It was my last attempt at digital painting/drawing after being vexed with the sheer convolutedness of the softwares out there. With procreate, I DIDN’T WANT TO STOP DRAWING! Today, a year later, I am stunned, pleasantly overwhelmed and humbled as I type this. I am now the lead concept artist for a professional game studio as we work on an ambitious title! This is truly surreal. This is me living my childhood dream. Thanks to procreate and iPad for allowing me to be able to bring what I could do on paper to the digital medium. Feedback and a small suggestion: 1. When using a smaller brush size for detailing etc, the ‘peppermint’ pencil seems to revert to a larger brush size spontaneously sometimes and takes a few strokes to return to the smaller brush size. 2. If you could work on an option that allows us to vary the frame rate between two adjacent layers that make up the gif/mp4, it would be phenomenal. It would allow Story-boarders/ConceptArtists/Previz to control the pacing accurately and do the entirety of 2D Visualisation without ever leaving Procreate! And export the file straight to the director. The mere possibility and how organic and intuitive it would make visualisation excites me! Words can’t express my joy today as I wrote this review. My deepest thanks and appreciation to everyone at Savage. You guys are Game-Changers! ✨✨

What I think about procreate. I would like to say that I know that you may think $15 is a bit pricey for a app but for the quality and products of this app is a good price . I was nervous that the cost wouldn’t be worth it and Is a monthly subscription but you pay this one time and you keep it . The design is very good and not very complicated , if you are having trouble understanding or want to figure out how to use it better I would recommend this app . I’m very happy that I got this . Procreate is a amazing app and is worth every cent . there is some things I would like and one of them is a blending brush that you can size and it may be easier to use . Other then that it’s a amazing app and I think you should get this if you are a beginner to digital art or you do digital art it is amazing . From ~Bee🐝hive~

Recently glitchy. I have been using this app for months and love it but in the last week or so it has been very glitchy, which has been impacting my workflow and made the app very frustrating to use. It does not always recognise how many fingers I have on the screen so I may be tapping 2 fingers to undo something or swiping with 2 fingers to move around the canvas but it will draw instead or sometimes it will do the right function but freeze for a few seconds first. And tonight my biggest frustration was trying to go between undo and redo it was only letting me go one or two steps back and forth and freezing for a few sections each time and I was having to redo sections of my drawing because of this, which was significantly increasing my drawing time. I really hope these issues are addressed soon so I can go back to a seamless drawing experience.

A good art program, but could use a couple of fixes. I really enjoy using Procreate and plan to use it a lot more in the future, but I have run into a few problems I will state below. - I like how your ‘stabiliser’ works, but it is very agitating when I’m doing line art. The streamline feature seems only good when using for Lettering and Calligraphy, but when I use it for line art it is very slow and when I try to use it fast it does not fit the exact from I want it to be, and the line is also still jittery. - The fill tool is helpful when it is on the same layer but when I use it on an upper or lower layer it just fills the whole screen? If there is a way to fix this and I haven’t found it, please can you make it more clear to the users. - Please can you add a blur tool. I don’t know if one exists besides the smudge tool, but I do not like using the smudge because it messes up my drawings a lot and tends to frustrate me. That is all of my complications with this app, otherwise I highly enjoy using this, thank you for taking the time and patience to read this.

baller. It works

Crashes. I love this app soooo much! I’m still learning how to use some of the features, but I think this app is amazing! Lately though the app crashes a lot for me. If I open certain drawings, it’ll crash, which gets a little annoying after a while. I’ve also noticed that my video replay of my drawings usually doesn’t work anymore. It just freezes and doesn’t show anything, which usually results in the app crashing. Again, a little annoying, but other than that I love it!!! 😄❤️

Procreate is Amazing. I have been using procreate for a while now and I just want to say that $10 is just the best price ever for this app. And I love that there is no “pro” version that costs even more money and a monthly subscription. The layout is very simple and doesn’t get in the way of your canvas. There is even an option to hide those few buttons temporarily by tapping with four fingers! There are so many hidden and cool features which makes it so fun to try and find them. The gesture settings is an amazing tool that helps you make things the way you like them and there are so many additional features like ‘animation assist’ and ‘drawing guide’ that the app doesn’t need to have, but it does and that is what makes it amazing. The creators of this app have made so many videos that are going to help beginners with learning how the app works. I think the best additional feature the app has (that I don’t think any other drawing app has) is the fact that you can create your own brushes and even get brushes created by other users online. Overall, thank you to whoever made this app and please keep updating it!

Worst drawing app I’ve ever used. I heard good things about this app from a few people but I’ve been trying it for about an hour now and it’s absolutely awful I’m very disappointed I spent my Christmas money on this. I wish there was a free version you could try before you waste you money on this. I wish app refunds existed. I’d strongly recommend getting FREE ibisPaint before you waste your money on this. Ps I’m normally way less mean I’m just disappointed I wasted my money

must have for digital artists!. my absolute go to! really powerful and affordable in a world where everything is a subscription. definitely helped me grow as an artist faster than anything else

The color drop tool doesn’t work.. It’s a really nice, I’m just unable to color drop. It just fills my entire canvas.

Great!. Amazing.it would be great to be able to nest folders.

PROCREATE5. When will it be released? I need this app like right now. Pleaseeeee

So fun!. Taking a course with it at Udemy.com, its great so far!

Bootiful just BOTIFUL. AWESOMEEEEEE. I use this app every. Single. Day :D

Horrible app don’t buy. This is the best app I have used in my life thank you for making it.

Width and height. I just wanna know why i cant make my width or height any bigger than 1920 x1920 . Very annoying. Any time I try to change it it only goes as big as 1920. WHY.

Can you add a recycle box for it?. It’s so easy for people to delete both file after duplicating, or if duplicated can you dismiss the selection of both the original file and the duplicated one? It’s so annoying that you just finished and accidentally deleted after duplicated.

What the hell. I’m a thumbnail artist and I use this but now transparent backgrounds appear?? Like I’m really considering deleting this.

Keeps crashing. I don't know why but for some reason procreate keeps crashing when I try to open it.

Unresponsive on iOS 16.1. After update to 16.1, the app becomes very unresponsive. Apple pencil can’t be used on certain part of the canvas, and it’s very random. I’m on a M2 ipad.

Amazing!!!. This app is absolutely amazing, just one thing, I would like it if it had something for making seamless images or tiles, sort of like kritas Wrap around mode, Other than that, I am seriously Impressed you managed to make an Art app as good as this for iPad. :)

Love it!. The features are great!! I love the amount of brushes you can use and it’s fun to animate on! I love using this for experiments with techniques I don’t usually use.

Everything you need in one app ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. This app is amazing. I love it. Bit of a learning curve for me because of not using graphic apps before but completely worth it. I use this app for designing fibre art, scrapbooking, long arm quilting layouts, and sketching. Fantastic app. My ONLY complaint is the lack of a downloadable manual. I need to write notes about how I did something when I am learning to use apps. Normally I write in the manual. This is my only, but large complaint.

Animation Assist?. I love this app so much but recent update has removed one of my most used features. Animation assist -onion skins, playing and looping animations is now impossible. What the heck, Procreate?

More available. I love this app but I think they should offer drawing lessons too

I just got the app. Already looks awesome. Bet I’m gonna use it a lot in the future! Thank you for creating this awesome app. :)

Freezing a LOT. This app is amazing but it’s painful to use sometimes. I’m experiencing near constant freezing on colour fills. Would be 5 stars without this issue.

Absolutely incredible killer app. This app is incredible. It literally made me buy an iPad Pro. However, make sure you have a plan or ample space to backup the app if you need to replace the iPad or in case you lose it. Otherwise, just an absolutely stunning, smooth, deep and rewarding drawing experience.

The best app you could think of. I never rate apps. Actually, I probably never did. But this app is probably THE best purchase I’ve done on the App Store. It’s incredible, suitable for all levels, extremely smart and easy to learn. I LOVE IT.

🌟. Amazing 🤩 I love this app! There’s nothing you can’t create! ❤️

Great app!. This is an amazing app! I love all the brushes and texture! Also amazing features! But the one problem is a bug? (I think) it’s when I’m using the app the colors turn from like vibrant to grayish Example: red to (grayish) orange and blue to (grayish) blue! Everything is a bit sadder looking! Please help! I can’t draw like this.

Best art app!. This art app is so great it should be paid more, not saying you should change the price on this app but every review you get according you should get at least $2,098,382

I loved it, except for one thing. I saw others using a brush called “bonobo chalk” and I wanted to use it to. But when I went to where the brush was supposed to be, it wasn’t there. I checked to see if I was on the latest update and I was. I even saw a video that was two years old using the brush. So please can you fix this?

please… the triangle. amazing, amazing app. i love the procreate team sm. but i wish there were an option to use a triangle color picker. being able to see the relationship between value and chroma automatically would be unbelievably helpful. it’s frustrating that there isn’t a way to desaturate a color without changing its value. and even the HSB adjustment feature doesn’t seem to do it accurately, the values end up different to how they would appear if i set my device to grayscale without adjusting.

Nice but one request. Hello! I enjoy your app. Although, you added an animation feature, I have began to start using it BUT there are no layers and instead I struggle animating without layers because you have used layers. Sorry if I am complaining but either than that, I enjoy drawing pictures and when I use my pen it works well with procreate.

Literally the best drawing app I’ve ever had. Best game ever

Best drawing app. I love the selection of brushes, and the UI feels very easy to use as someone who struggled a lot with the learning curve of other professional drawing programs. The thing I love the most is that I'm not forced into a subscription model, and can just pay once to have a functional app. Thank you to the developers for listening to their users.

AMAZING. This app is a amazing colouring/drawing app. 😁🖌🖊🖋🖍✏️✒️

Tattoo Artist’s dream tool. Totally love this app, use it every day for designing tattoos. It would be cool to drag files from emails right onto a canvas some day. And it often doesn’t recognize my finger gestures, like simply turning the canvas with the two finger hold and move trick which seems to work speratically. Otherwise I am more than grateful for this tool, reduces my drawing time to less than half and I save so much on paper and fancy felt pens! Thanks guys. Bravo.

Amazing but.... Virtually no stylus support or palm rejection. I used the adonit pixel and it just sucks with procreate. I now use other programs which sucks cause I purchased this

Something is wrong. The app is really great but why is there a limit of 98 animation frames?

Very Glitchy. Hello. I love your app Procreate and have been using it for a couple of years now, but recently the app has been very glitchy. For one, when I’m working on a piece, it will randomly freeze and to fix this, I have to remove the app from my recently used apps and re-enter it. Also, whenever I select an already existing canvas, the app will crash and the canvas won’t load. And again I have to repeat the process i mentioned earlier. This works but it is tedious and wastes my time. However, there is another problem that has happened just today - I cannot delete my canvases, even when I restart my device and yet again repeat the same process. Please fix these issues soon because I am really considering uninstalling this app. And it’s such a shame too because this app costs money. EDIT: No longer using this app. More glitches have popped and it’s getting in the way of my work now. I complained about them before but support just blew me off. I am not uninstalling however, because: 1) I need to keep all of my artworks 2) This app costs money Not using it until you fix your glitches.

I love this thing. It was worth my 20 bucks, honestly.

AMAZING. This art app is pure magic. You can create and make animated drawings it’s the BEST!

Incredible. I literally can’t put into words how much I love this app. It’s absolutely incredible. The features, user-friendliness, and function is just astonishing for the cost. I am a very casual artist but every time I use it I discover features I love. I’m so so grateful to the developers for making such a fantastic app and selling it at such a reasonable price, thanks guys!

Amazing but. How do I make the fill consider all layers since I made a new one for the color so I can fill the linart and to mater where I drag no matter what I make the threshold is just paints the intire canvas and I can’t find anything in the handbook so if you could reply with an aw set that would be amazing

Great app. Missing key features.. This app is phenomenal to use until you want to add text to the image. I’m trying to design some labels and there is no in app way to add text outside of drawing it.

I hate the new resizing update. The 5.0 update changed how you resize selected items. It’s ruining my life. Please, please change it back, I beg you. I want to be able to resize it from any point on the canvas. Please please fix this.

It’s Awesome. I love this drawing app! I recommend it for digital artists. (Cause I’m not one lol)

Great App For All Level Artists. This is a great app, I bought it today and coming from a Wacom tablet, I prefer this. It is easy to use and has great tools for art. Here are some pros and cons Pros: Lots of tools varying from drawing, inking and sketching. Inexpensive but it does not show it in the software No lag at all You can zoom in and out to do very great detail Upload images to copy from as a reference image Lots of colours, also if you need an exact colour, put the colours number into the software and it lets you use that colour Cons: I thought long and hard but I cannot think of a con. Only thing I recommend is getting a cheap $12 stylus from a electronic store or staples which is more comfortable. Thank you pro create for this amazing app! I have been creating lots of great art work with it. Also, thank you for making it affordable!

I love this app. It’s really good it helped me a lot with drawing idk how but this. Improve my drawing skills and style

A very good digital art app. The best digital art app I have used on the iPad. I have tried out several other applications, however Procreate stands out for its simple yet familiar interface to photoshop. It is loaded with unique brushes and if they don’t satisfy you there are custom brushes you can find online. This app is great for hardcore and casual digital artists and at its price point I find it pretty hard to beat.

New animation feature. I almost cried of joy at this new animation feature. Being able to create animations within this app using the layers as frames is amazing! Usually I would have to draw each frame, export, then compile the images and shorten into a video.

Transferring projects from photoshop to procreate. Encountering an issue while transferring a project from the mobile Photoshop app to Procreate. Procreate displays a message saying, "This artwork exceeds the device's capabilities," which is confusing since I was working on it in Photoshop on the same device without any problems.

Amazing app! Potential ideas follow... Hi! I’m an artist who’s been using Procreate for several months and I love the app. I find more and more tools as I continue to use it and get the most out of it. I would have loved to give this app a 4.5 at least if I could!!! I do have a couple suggestions as to how the app could be even better. We all know about the paint drop tool right? We drag the circle in the right corner to the area we want to be filled and voila! However, I notice that we can’t do the same with the erase tool. It would be so so helpful if we could drag the eraser to a certain color and have it erase that color it was dragged to. Also, it would be helpful to have a search bar to search through our artworks rather than having to scroll through everything. Once you have pages and pages full of work it can be kind of difficult to find that exact piece you are looking for. Since we can title pieces, having that search bar to find our works more easily would be very very helpful. Thank you for reading my review! Hopefully this feedback makes its way to the creators so we can benefit from these tools! (:

Love this program!. I really love this for digital art and it’s helped me improve so much. It’s definitely the best iOS app available for digital art. That being said, there’s been a lot of bugs lately. Especially when you hold down to make a perfect shape, if you undo that shape, the entire app freezes. You have to close it and hope the problem is fixed. Sometimes when I go to draw it doesn’t actually draw the line. It glitches a little bit. Also I wish there was a better gradient tool. Obviously I’ve learned to use the motion blur tools to make a gradient but it’d be easier to just have a gradient tool available since a lot of artists use that in other programs. Merging brushes into a folder has become the death of me. You kind of have to drag it to the folder and hold it there hoping it’ll actually select but most of the time it doesn’t register that you're dragging it into a folder. It’s kind of a guessing game. Overall I do love the app but I hope they get rid of these problems in the future.

The Best Art App Out There. I started out on an iPad Mini that ran iOS 9.5.whatever, and at the time, your device had to run iOS 10 to get Procreate. I instead got Procreate Pocket (back when it was $2.99) and I thought it was the best investment I had ever made. The app was so well done, and even lacking a lot of the features Procreate had to offer, it was still the best thing I could get. So, when Christmas 2017 came around, I knew I had to get my hands on an iPad Pro to use Procreate. So, I got an iPad Pro, and an Apple Pencil. The app was $9.99 when I bought it and it was 100% worth the money. I was so impressed by how easy this app is to get used to, and learn how to use all the tools correctly, while being so professional with it’s tools. I am happy to say that I’ve had Procreate for almost a full year and have yet to experience a single issue in the app. Procreate works very hard and gives us more and more updates with more and more features, and I love them all. I am excited to see what becomes of Procreate in the next years, because wow.

I only have one complaint. I only have one complaint and that is if we want to make an animation we are only allowed 72 slides which isn’t enough for me so I screen recorded my semi-done work and made a new canvas to finish my animation and I tried to add my video that I recorded a few seconds before but there was only an insert photo option so I pressed it thinking that maybe I could add my video but I could not, I am very disappointed Procreate, it would be very appreciated if the Procreate Development Team would take notice of what I am saying, I am really not asking for a lot, just please don’t put slide restrictions, if you HAVE to have number limits it would be greatly appreciated if it could be a really big number so people can finish animations and drawings. I am really sorry if there are any grammatical errors I am only eleven years old but I wanted to voice my complaints. Thank you to anyone who have read my review without judgement and thank you to those who have just read it in general, thank you so much.

Great app! Just a few suggestions.. I’ve been using procreate for a few years, I think it’s a great app for new and professional artists. Has many features and tools for all artist to use, once you get the hang of it it’s pretty simple too use. All the brushes are amazing and I like how you can even make your own brushes! Finger shortcuts are helpful and it works well with Apple Pencil. All the features like mirror and Timelapse replay are neat too. You can even animate, but a few things could improve with animation. All that said, there are a few things that could improve. Most the time it’s not a problem, but in animations it can cause problems, the layer limit, why is there a layer limit, what is it for? When animating I am adding a new layer and all of a sudden it says it’s full, it can be frustrating at times. I would also recommend you make the option for accounts, so in case you get a new device and it doesn’t transfer through cloud, you could just log in. But besides those few flaws, Great app! Definitely worth buying. 10/10.

It’s great! But 1 thing. So I’ve been using this app for quite a while! It really makes my linart smooth for my drawings! I am a cartoonist and animator, and this app is the best! Even for a tablet! But one thing is the animating, u see, I’m a professional animator but since I don’t have a computer or anything for professional art programs I use some animation apps like FlipaClip for example, but I like to use the Procreate for animating more because it makes my lineart smooth and pop out perfectly! So I just did a short fully animated animation with 22 layers, and when I tried to save my animation to my photos I always use png, and when I see that how it looks animated when I click png it looks great! So I saved it but that’s the thing, my instead of an animation, I just get a drawing with the first layer, it’s not animated! I checked over other saves but it’s only the png save! I used that save for awhile but somehow it just stopped working! I depend on this app on everything with my drawings and animations! So please fix this issue that I don’t like which keeps me away from the stuff I love, hopefully u see this review and fix it, thank you

Amazing, even for the novice. I am new to drawing, taking my first lessons. I used Linea for the first 2 weeks, and I still love it for it's simplicity, with just enough options to make it a very fun and useful sketch app. Yet, I soon yearned for more options, and downloaded Procreate. At first, I missed the great simple options and controls of Linea, but by day 2 the power and beauty (yes, well functioning apps are a thing of beauty to me) came through and I only use Procreate now. While I am practicing beginning methods of sketching, I am also learning Procreate, which in itself offers many AHA moments when I learn how to do something I initially could not figure out. With that said, if you are reading this and thinking of buying Procreate, do not hesitate... this app is simply amazing... even for the beginner! Part of the joy is the terrific online support and forums. I have not had a question I could not readily find an answer to by searching the web. This app is worth so much more than the $4.99... kudos to the Procreate team and all the amazing users who have enabled me to find answers to my questions.

I loved it... and would like to again!. I have been using this app for about a year and have really enjoyed it! But... now (all of a sudden), I’m not able to use the color drop without the entire page changing color. I have tried to adjust the color drop threshold, but the slider will NOT move. I’ve tried with my iPad pencil as well as my finger but- nope. Not moving. I looked up help on line and have noticed that other people are experiencing the same issue. I tried their recommendations but nothing works. I hope the next update fixes this. In the meantime I am dead in the water. Can’t do anything... I would give 5 stars, but if all I can do are line drawings, its not worth the frustration. Please fix!!! Update to previous review- I contacted the app support and they responded within a day. Elena was able to determine what the issue was! She sent me a video to show me how to adjust the color drop threshold and now everything works beautifully! She was very patient and after a few back and forth emails, all is well... I love the app again!!

New update is awesome buuuut. I’m loving all the new features that were added with the most recent update in 5.2 like brush history, as it’s something I’ve been screaming to the heavens about. However, it seems like the more basic functions that I rely on, like “merge down” are a little wonky now. Any time I use this feature, it ruins the quality of the layer I’ve merged and cannot seem to be undone. Pretty disappointing, as this feature is extremely helpful for someone picky like me who likes to test things out on a new layer before possible ruining my base layer. Another thing I’m noticing is a pretty bad lag in the brush strokes, it’s a bit distracting when youre doing something like sketching - I don’t want to wait for the lines to catch up to me! Perhaps that’s just an animation error. The status bar for when you switch between layers and tools also has a bit of a lag/looks like the screen is flashing, but again I think this mush just be the animation itself. Hoping these slight bugs can be fixed in an update soon!!

Revolutionized my entire process. I’m a digital painter who had been using Wacom tablets and desktop computers for almost 2 decades. I bought a 1st gen iPad realizing there was potential but the stylus technology really wasn’t there yet and ultimately didn’t get much practical use out of it. Fast-forward to 2015 and here comes the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil. I figured it would be a great digital alternative to a sketchbook but nothing would replace my preferred tools, photoshop and my Intuos tablet, for polished work. As I explored procreate and as it evolved and gained new features, I realized that I was not running into the limitations I expected to encounter. I could sit in a cafe and sketch, and that sketch would turn into a painting and that painting could be given the same attention and care that I’d normally use when working on a desktop. 6 years later and I’m almost exclusively working in procreate and haven’t looked back. I’m grateful to Apple and Savage Interactive for the impact they’ve had on creative technologies. I can’t wait to see where it all goes and I’ll be along for the ride.

Very fun drawing game But... It is a very good game and I would recommend it if your a really good artist and have an Apple Pencil. I put only 4 stars it’s because I feel like when you first download it it takes a long time to load and I feel like you should play it for 9 years old and older I started playing months ago but when you get it there’s so much things and so much different changes it’s soo amazing but really difficult. So if your a good artist and a good understanding these kinda things you can get it . But if you have a son and daughter be careful this game can get really difficult so check it out for them and it’s way harder with finger so make sure you also have a Apple Pencil . How i download it I started like a few months and now I don’t really use it if you love drawing get this game but this game has no commercials no bugs but probably a few it kicked me out 6 times but it will try not to for you . So I hope this review helped you and know if you read this entire thing good for you. Have fun enjoy your day with Procreate :)

Keep your hands off my tools.... This could be such a great app for professionals who use the apple stylus on an iPad Pro....but apparently they’re more interested in catering to people who simply use it on their phone to “doodle”...every update means the chance that they will take away another intuitive functionality, in favor of more “finger gestures”...I’ve also noticed changes in the way the brushes behave. (They can say what they want, but I favor the flat brush, and since the last update, it no longer behaves the same or leaves the same mark)...I’m extremely disappointed with the latest update...and have since moved all of my work over to Clip Studio Paint, using a Wacom Tablet...I HIGHLY recommend the same to anyone serious about their art. Clip Studio has a much wider selection of brushes, tools, & settings...all of which have reliably functioned the same way since the day I installed it. However, if you’re simply looking to make little doodles on your phone, using clumsy and annoying “finger gestures”, that apparently are subject to change with any given update...well then, this is the app for you...have fun with it, I’ll be over there working with a reliable tool that respects the customer base enough to not fudge with the interface.

Wonderful, but there are some things.. Procreate is absolutely amazing. I highly recommend it, especially for iPads. Despite how amazing it is, there are flaws. The first thing is color fill. Its annoying dragging it down. I'd like it to be a tool. Another thing is that when you color fill, it can only apply to that layer. Its very frustrating, so please change it to apply to layers below. When I color fill, it doesn't fill on the edges, and it it SO annoying! I have to go back and fill in the unfilled parts. Its even more annoying when Im drawing with thin lines. I ask you to please change this. Next is lasso. I don't know how to explain it, but I hope you can guess. I really wish there was a ruler, or something to make straight lines. Not sure if there is, but I've never found one. I've noticed Procreate crashing as I enter the app fairly often. Not sure if its my iPad or the app itself, but I advise you look into that, because I have seen several reviews with the same problem. Anyway, thank you for reading, I hope somebody found this helpful. I 100% recommend this app.

Absolutely incredible. Procreate is the most “worth it” purchase I’ve ever made. The brush customization and creation is simple, yet not restricting. The UI is not overwhelming, and the implementation of gesture shortcuts makes the whole experience really intuitive and easy to use. The animation feature is extremely easy to understand and the foreground and background features of it or really unique. Unlike most Adobe programs procreate thrives on simplicity, and I love it. Making stunning pieces of art has never been more efficient, affordable, and all around immaculate. There are a couple issues though. I do wish that it was possible to make stacks within stacks, as it would make organization a lot more personalized and not crowd your gallery. I also have an issue where sometimes I’ll paint in a stroke, and suddenly it will disappear as if I undid it, even though I hadn’t clicked undo or tapped with two fingers. This is a rare occurrence though so it’s easy to look past. This is honestly so much bang for your buck and well worth 10$ considering just how professional it is.

Help!!. I love this app and use it every day- for fun and for work. But for the past week, ColorDrop isn’t working. I try to drop a color into my artwork and it fills the entire screen. (Thank god the undo button still works) The first time, I thought my file was corrupted, but it does this to EVERY file. I double and triple checked my lines were closed, I copy and pasted the lines to make them thicker, I exited my files and went back into them, and nothing. I’ve restarted the app AND my iPad and it still won’t work. I have to color in everything with my finger. I take art and animation commissions and it’s so bad that I’m at the point where I’m barely meeting some of my deadlines because of how much longer it takes to complete a project. All because I’m having to color everything in with my finger and then erase where I went over the line. I’m fully up to date with both my iPad and the app. I don’t know what’s going on. Can someone PLEASE tell me what to do? I use this app to make money and I’m on the verge of having to stop taking commissions.

So Many Wonderful Tools, Such an Infuriatingly and Discouragingly Buggy User Experience. All the tools this program has are awesome. The user experience is infuriatingly glitchy. For example, I’ll draw a line and then go to draw another— and unbeknownst to me, Procreate just switched from the brush I was using to the eraser and now I’m just destroying what I made, having to stop, repair, switch back… You’d think you could switch that toggle off in the preferences pane, or at least that there they’d tell you what gesture you must be accidentally doing that’s triggering such maddening brush switches— but nope, not at all. Then there’s the fact that it doesn’t consistently recognize your your touch gestures, so so you’ve opened the layer pane to switch layers and then you go to touch back onto the workspace and… nothing happens. Or there are those other lovable instances where one Apple Pencil tap sends the whole app on a maddening burst of several functions that I didn’t instruct. I love the idea of this software but the UE is so consistently maddening I’m in the process of moving over to the Affinity platform and abandoning Procreate all together. The number of times I find my freaking screaming at the top of my lungs at this program…

This app is wonderful! But I have one question... This app has been such a great experience for me with my art for a good while already, I’m using an iPad 10.2 9th Generation, which I had ordered since last week. The app is pretty easy to use and I love the features and options it has, however, one thing that kinda bugs me is the layers. I don’t really like the fact that the bigger your canvas is, the less layers you have. Why is that? I would like to understand why this feature exists, I’m trying to go with as much small canvas as I can to get enough layers if I ever want to do a detailed drawing. But it still gets to me whenever I want to use a pretty big canvas, and I can’t because of the layers. I do try to go a little big with some of my canvases, but I have to limit it if I can see I’ll have a good number of layers for me to use. I’m sure they’ll be a way I can understand why this is a thing, otherwise I think this app is great, and definitely worth for a professional app :)

Love it but one major issue. I love Procreate and I was very exited to receive an Apple Pencil for my birthday so I could get it and practice my art. Recently the developers have released 3D drawing options. I was very exited to try this out but when I went to download the model pack it gave me the example drawings but not the option to creat my own 3D drawings. This is very frustrating though I don’t happen to be a 3D artist but I think it would be something fun to experience. What it says for me is that the file is invalid or corrupt. I hope the wonderful people working with Procreate can fix this. This is now the next day and I deducted a star takings my rating ing from a four to a three. Today I saw that the app needed an update so I installed the update hoping this would solve the problem. After it was finished installing I created a new canvas and tried to install the 3D capabilities. Again it said that the file was invalid or corrupt. This has been very frustrating to me and I really hope the wonderful people working with Procreate can help fix this. I would love to know if anyone else is having this problem. Thank you!

Amazing app! A few problems though.... This app is amazing! It’s very intuitive and it works very well, it’s well worth the $10, especially considering how many options there are and the fact that you can animate on it. However, I’m having a couple problems. Firstly, every time I try to export a video, it always comes up to my camera roll upside down. I just can’t understand why that is. I’ve tried everything I can, but it still exports the video upside-down. It doesn’t do it to the images, just the videos. Secondly, the fill bucket feature was a pain to figure out. I figured it out (click reference on your line art layer and then use a layer underneath, doesn’t work with textured brushes like pencils and such) but I still have some problems with it, like the fact that you can’t fill in textured brushes, which limits me quite a bit in my artwork. Lastly, sometimes it spazzes out and separates the lines despite the fact that I’m drawing a continuous line. But other than that, it’s an amazing app!

2 years in and quit my job. I bought myself an iPad Pro for Christmas 2016 to assist in my traditional paintings as a large digital source image vs my phone. After a few paintings, I bought procreate seeing what other artists were doing with it. It became an obsession of mine for two years. I spent two years not making a single traditional work of art. I was completely engrossed in learning how to master this new medium. I completely sucked at it for a long while. Almost the whole first year was just slow trial and error and I’m still nowhere near what some of these young kids out there are doing. But, the most amazing thing about it is that I drew everyday or near that when I had my iPad with me. Before that I had spent seven years not creating anything. And now I quit my job and am trying to make my way selling prints of my digital creations made in procreate as well as doing oil painting portrait and pet portrait commissions. It’s going to be difficult but it would have been a far away dream life without Procreate allowing me to keep my hand busy creating daily.

Absolutely love this app. I’ve always had a hard time with drawing apps as I’m not great with computers, but Procreate is so easy to understand and use! It feels so much like drawing with paper that sometimes when I’m sketching in my sketchbook, I try to zoom in with my fingers. Adding animation to an already amazing app that is remarkably inexpensive was such a great addition!! I’ve always wanted to do small animations (I definitely don’t want to be a full-time animator) but was afraid to, because many of the animation apps and websites out there are for pro animators, hard to learn and too complicated for someone who isn’t making full animations. Procreate, on the other hand, lets me do those small animations pretty easily and, even if I’ve already finished my illustration, let’s me make a gif out of it with just a few alterations! I would definitely recommend this app to other artists, and maybe even people who are just learning to animate (though I’m just learning myself so take that from someone isn’t a pro at all).

It’s okay but needs work. I’m into the easy to navigate interface but I’m disappointed at the lack of other transformation modes and clipping layers. It’s really a let down to also know that I cannot apply a mask to a folder or have tool for selecting large areas but instead I have to trace around it, and it doesn’t even allow me to have two separate areas selected. Instead I have a selection tool that is only capable of selecting one thing and if I try to select another thing, the selection picks up a part that I didn’t want picked up at the first place! Don’t get me wrong, the customization of brushes is nice and they work okay, although I wish there was a guide showing me the size change relative to the actual canvas and to be able to shrink all the brushes instead if having a brush that could have been more useful if it could make it a bit more smaller. Please consider my suggestions as I do believe that if you input some of these features, it can make the app feel like a true drawing program that you can get on a pc and such. I’m not %100 that these features that I suggest are actually in the app though.

So good but so glitchy. Lags happen strongly while drawing with symmetry, brushes get stuck, motions don’t fully execute stroke, freezing and crashing frequently. If you are fine with thise things, then Procreate is the app for you. I bought the 6th Gen apple ipad pro, have just 5 apps on this device, always hoping that these glitches would eff off, but nope. It got new glitches now! Restarting helps, and that is the only thing that relieves the issue for a (too) little while. but outside of that, boy is work in progress a slow process. Overall I love the brushes available and I bought a few more from other artists and designers. I like the simplicity of the animation tool, and always look forward in getting back to my drawn stop motion animations. I’d love if the symmetry too was more chill, like in Sketchbook(Pro on desktop), where it feels more like a ruler, which you can lock in place and unlock as needed without zooming in and out of the canvas. Love the automatic Time Lapse recording, and canvas info board settings. But changing the canvas also crashes the app frequently. I love you ProCreate™ . But please get yer sheet together!

Love it, just needs one little thing.. Brushes, choices, settings, everything about this app is just amazing! I am so glad I found it- and it is just getting better and better every time! But there was one thing that I kinda wish I had that made me write this review, a trash and section where drawings aren’t completely deleted. Even though there’s a warning system, you may easily get used to pressing it or something and accidentally delete one of your drawings. In sketchbook it had a trash can system where it doesn’t completely delete your drawings, and I sometimes accidentally deleted my drawings. But, because of the trash can section, it still kept my drawings, which saved me a lot of times, lol. As you may tell, I may have accidentally deleted one of my finished drawings, and boy do I wish I at least took a picture of it... But that’s all, I just think we should have a trash can where it doesn’t completely delete your drawings, but actually keeps it. You can also delete it completely in the trash can if you actually don’t want it.

Worked great until bug happened. I love this program, it works really well at a low price, but this bug happened. When the bug started, whenever I would use the color picker, the color would be lighter then the original color, but only for colors on one layer for some reason, and a bit of the layer under the one I was using was showing through it even though it was at max opacity, then the blend tool stoped working, and after that the pen tool stoped working to. The program knows I’m creating an input, because I can use the undo button on it, but nothing appears. It’s really odd because I hadn’t updated it recently, and this all happened in the middle of doing an art piece. Also some suggestions I have for updating the program are making it so the fill bucket tool can be toggled in between only being affected by the layer your on and being affected by the whole canvas (like how the program FireAlpaca does it), and if you have the time make it so the animation feature has the option to input audio, as that makes animating to audio easier Thank you for spending the time to read this :)

Best art program I’ve used. I’ve tried many different art programs over the years, two main examples being adobe sketch and MediBang, but there have been over 5 programs total, and this one is certainly the best. There are so many tools, but all of them are easy to access, and all of them are so unique and easy to learn. I can also make/ download customized brushes to fit my style, which is absolutely amazing. The whole interface is very compact, but so complex at the same time, and it’s incredibly satisfying to use since most of my screen isn’t blocked by color wheels or brush lists. There are also lots of taps and gestures to utilize which make the art process faster, and easier. I haven’t ONCE seen something about this app that I wish was different, and I’ve made over 30 different art pieces on this app now. It’s such an amazing app, and I can’t believe I actually found something so perfect. This app bends to every art style, and it doesn’t restrict creativity at all. I love it.

ALMOST perfect.. I would have rated this five stars because of just how excellent this program is, but MY GOD is the fill tool on this program unnecessarily difficult. Other programs have an easy bucket tool that acknowledges the other layers so you can easily fill lineart and other things- this one makes you set an outline and drag and drop or select the whole space and then fill it. It’s annoying, tedious, and prolongs my artwork. If they could give this function a way to recognise other layers or give us an extra bucket tool I’d rate it five stars, but in all honesty I just absolutely hate the current state of its fill option and I feel like it sets this program back. Along with the filters, for some reason they absolutely hate the colour black and refuse to work with it. The rest is absolutely amazing-the brushes, the layout, etc. and it’s a serious upgrade from whatever free programs you can get. The fact that not only along with the pre-existing brushes they give you, they also give you a source library is just really nice to have and it’s amazing what it can do. Almost a steal for the price they give you, but it still needs a few tweaks.

Nice, but has problems. I really love Procreate, and I’ve been using it for a long time. I use and iPad and Apple Pencil to draw and it works pretty well. I would say that it’s definitely worth its price, but it does have some problems. First of all, I dislike how they have organized their colors. When I go and pick a new color, it’s difficult to navigate and find the right color. Even when I think I find a good one, it’s always duller and paler than it looks like it should be. I really hate how every color is so dull. Please let me know if there is a way I can fix it. The second problem is pressure. I use an Apple Pencil, like I said, and it is annoying how the harder I press, the bigger and thicker and darker the line becomes. I’ve tried looking in settings to see if I can fix this, but I was not able to find anything that could. It might have to do with my Apple Pencil settings and not Procreate, but it does not do that with my other drawings apps so I assume it’s a Procreate problem. Other than that, it is a really great app that is worth its price.

bestbestbestbestbestbestbestbestbestbestbestbestbestbestbest. I’ve been using this for over a year now, and it’s safe to say I love it. Of course, not many people can afford the 10 bucks it costs so it’s seen as ‘trashy’ to some. I don’t care though, I really like it’s simple and easy to understand interface. It was also surprisingly easy to download new text from 3rd party font apps. My only gripe about this is the ‘animation’ part of it. Sure it was generous to give us that, saying that competitors like Ibisxpaint don’t have that, but it isn’t that easy to use. Your layers are like frames, which isn’t ideal if you have an animation which isn’t just a sketch. Maybe add the ability to get actual frames instead of focusing on layers? Eh, I don’t care I don’t ever color my drawings anyway.. but still it’s something that’d be good to see. Otherwise that, it’s one of the best drawing apps on the iOS scene, very good and I’m glad I spent the10 bucks to get it! Would recommend to others who are serious enough about art to spend real money.

App breaks multiple times every day. I love this app! It works so well on my iPad Pro... when the app even lets you do anything. You see, recently the app doesn’t let me open canvases at all sometimes. It happens out of nowhere, I am drawing and minding my own business until the app freezes while in the middle of drawing. I restart the app, and am greeted to the gallery. I tap the canvas I want to go back to and the whole app freezes again. Ok, close out the app. Rejoin the app, the app immediately skips the gallery and opens to a canvas with absolutely every tool open jumbled up into a mess. This of course, is frozen too. I have to close and reopen the app approximately 20 times before it decides “Hey, I am an art app, I must let the user draw!” and works for a while before doing this over again. Sometimes after this happens, I open the canvas I was previously working on... and the entire project is cleared. I can’t get it back. It doesn’t happen every time, but it’s still extremely irritating. I might have to switch back to MediBang until this is fixed, since I have to restrain myself from throwing my device across the room every time this stuff happens.

I LOVE the app but something changed. I really love the app and it has been amazing ever since I got it for Christmas last year. But this year, last week something changed. I was drawing and the pressure sensitivity went down and I had to press so much on the screen my wrist was killing me! It was at the point where I searched up some possible choices for pressure sensitivity, I tried every one but it worked for everyone else but me. Another problem is that I saved all my artworks to my file so then I deleted the app, just a confirmation it said that anything saved to iCloud will not be deleted and it was. It was not even in my recently deleted. So after a few hours of sadness, I tried creating new artworks but there was the same problem! The most surprising part is when I hit the reset button on pressure sensitivity it would not even draw, there were no marks. I m not saying I do not like this app but I am just addressing this problem so maybe they can fix it.

Overall positive experience but that bucket.... Firstly, you are getting an enjoyable drawing experience. I’ve tested this against other drawing apps. The strokes feel nice and weighty once pressure is adjusted. The stabilizer is solid as well. My only gripe with using this app is it works against my workflow. I mainly work with line art, drawing cartoon characters. The bucket tool is a drag and drop fill. You can not adjust it to target the entire image. There is putting your line art in reference mode. But you can only reference one layer at a time. So if you have lines in another layer, you’re out of luck. I haven’t found a way to make multiple selections on different layers, to create color overlays, so I’ve had to work around it by creating a dummy layer. What takes less than 5 seconds becomes 15 minutes. Some part of the experience feels more tech demo than easing some burdens off the artist. ibis Paint behaves similarly to Clip Studio in that regard. The bucket tool there will even fill in the gaps. Learn a thing or two from them. You’re almost there. A simple bucket adjustment option is really all I’m begging for right now. But making multiple selections on different layers would be the cherry on top to the perfect drawing app.

Not working!. I’m sure this app is fantastic! In my few hours of learning to use this app it’s been awesome… however it stopped working last night. First the eraser stopped working. Then all the brushes started working. I checked the color, opacity, app update, closed the app, reopened the app, shut the iPad down and turned it back on. I made sure my apple pen was fully charged and had synced it with the iPad again just to make sure. At first I thought it was my error until I realized I was in the middle of drawing when it happened and not in settings. I troubleshot and did some research and checked everything their website said to do but still nothing worked! The apple pen WILL make marks in the brush’s drawing pad but not on any canvas… existing or new. THEN I realized that it did something weird to one of my projects… it erased part of my drawing. Not sure if this was a layer or just part of a layer it’s gone and I’m upset because I had worked so hard on that part in particular. I have sent a message to their support team last night and was hoping to hear something today but haven’t yet. So far, the $10 app isn’t worth it as I can’t do a single thing on any of my projects now.

Much better programs available for free. As others have stated, the family sharing that they advertise doesn’t work. I have yet to talk to someone who has this work for them. I expected a lot between the charge and high reviews. I think this is simply because other people have followed the procreate cult without trying anything else out there, so they don’t know there are better alternatives. The brush selection is incredibly sad. The amount of adjustment needed for each brush to work decently is insane, and they basically force you into creating all brushes yourself or buy them from other sources. The tool situation is even worse. If you are used to photoshop, this program will make you rage out. There are very few things that you can do in photoshop (which procreate and their users claim to be better than) that you can also do in procreate. It is not user friendly. Updates have caused so many issues for so many artists. We deal with corrupt data, lost brushes, crashes, freezes and lag even from brand new iPads. I highly highly recommend trying one of the free art apps before committing to this one. Just because it’s the most popular, doesn’t mean it’s the best.

I’m a better artist now.. Ello!! I’m just gonna go ahead and get right to it! This is definitely worth 10$!! It’s so simple to navigate and everything is very self explanatory! It’s so easy to draw on here and it make digital art so much fun!! One of the best things about this app for me it how amazing the brushes work with their own type of stability for each individual one. Some recommendations though. I think it should be easier to take stuff out of a stack of artworks. And also something I think that could be a completely separate app for animation. As much as I love the animating on Procreate the max layers kinda get in the way so a separate app might be nice. But overall it’s so amazing and my art is so much more amazing!!! Digital art used to be a hassle but now I do it everyday!! Thank you so much Procreate!!! Edit: So, the new update has absolutely RUINED the default flat brush settings, and I don’t know how to put it back to what it was before. I not exactly asking for advice, I just want it restored to its formal glory. Please, I really love that brush. 😭

Henc yea. Ive been using this app for the past few months (im pretty sure) and idk if its just because autodesk sketchbook is juts bad or if this is amazing (it is) but i had a really east time transitioning and getting used to the brushes. I really like how you can change your color wheel, it makes the whole experience a little more homey imp! Theres a wide variety of brushes for pretty much anything you want and its nice to be able to customize the brushes to the little details if you need to change something small like the flow. Idk if its just because i havent used it for too long but i havent run into any glitches that obviously arent meant to be there, which is pretty good. One little complaint i do have is that if i color drop onto an already colored surface it will change the hue of the drawing as opposed to re-coloring the area. It can be a real pain when im doing something with a lot of little details and have to go back and color it in by hand :/ other than that its an amazing drawing app and i would definitely recommend spending those $5

Best 2019 Purchase / Great for Watercolor / Use Layers!. I’m a graphic designer that spends a lot of time in Photoshop and Illustrator, and I found Procreate to be a surprisingly awesome blend of the two Adobe apps. For Christmas presents this year, I set out to create a hand drawn watercolor 2020 calendar featuring seasonal produce that varies by month, and Procreate was the drawing app I chose to get me there. A few features I found particularly helpful: 1) variety of artistic brushes, including watercolor, that can be customized beyond just size and opacity; 2) layers and grouping, enough said; 3) ability to directly select group/layer artwork and transform as needed; and 4) masking – this just amazed me for an iPad app. Even better, export your drawings into formats you need – Photoshop, PDF, image, etc. It was easy to export drawings into a shareable format that could then be brought together in a calendar format for printing, and the illustrations really pop/jump off the page with color. Hands down my favorite artist tool for the iPad, I do recommend, this app deserves so much praise!

I wish I loved it. I love this app for the most part. The sheer number of options and creative potential is definitely worth a paid art app but it has functionality issues that make me want to ditch it altogether. I have been spending more time on bigger projects lately and have found that after a certain period of time it continuously glitches out automatically deleting and cutting short line work to just then disappear. It happens over and over. I have removed all automatic gesture settings from my iPad settings as well as the app to ensure that I am not just accidentally completing touch shortcuts to no avail. The lag in register is so touch and go that it cannot accurately track and maintain a line being created. It’s a problem that not only infuriates me when I am hard at work but also renders the whole app functionally worthless. I paid 9.99 for an app. There should be no issue like this here. I have never had issue with Artdesk Sketchpad and though its creative options, at least I didn’t pay $9.99 for it to work awesomely some of the time. I don’t want to be disappointed! But so far, I am.

Crashes anytime I zoom in - I've had the iPad 1 day. I am trying out procreate for the first time since getting my iPad literally today. I tried painting over a photo of my cat and had 4 minimal layers, I doubt the file is that large considering the sample canvases that are loaded into Procreate. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I zoomed in to draw it would crash. What is going on? I paid $10 for an app that can’t handle drawing over a single photo? UPDATE: I am trying to organize brushes I brought in from photoshop and thought I had been deleting brushes I didn’t want but I found the ‘deleted’ brushes in random folders I had made. Did the program delete a brush I wanted to keep and trade out for one I tried to delete? I have no idea because I’m sorting hundreds of brushes. PLEASE make adding brushes to custom folders easier because the drag and drop method is tedious and often adds to the folder above or below the one I want. Also if I try to select multiple brushes it ONLY selects from the top of the list no matter what brush I am picking with my finger or pencil. This makes sorting a huge list extremely frustrating. This app page says the developer does not collect data but I really wish you would so you can see the mess of problems I am encountering.

AMAZING JUST AMAZING 🤩. I was a bit scared to buy this at first because several of my friends say they didn’t really like it, or some of the tools that other apps have is not here. But I decided to just give it a go. At I wasn’t really used to the app and was constantly watching tutorials on how to use it, (and still am) but you do have to be patient with learning how to use a new app, I realized most of the problems my friends had were because they didn’t watch the tutorials. The app has high quality tracking when using a apple pen, and has many different types of brushes. The only thing you might need to worry about is your storage, the apps high quality takes up a lot of storage, but you can set the canvas size smaller to reduce the amount of storage used. This is is just amazing and I love it! I’m still learning how to use it a bit but I’ve been using it for about a week now I haven’t found any problems with the app, it wasn’t glitchy, it also didn’t react slow. It’s overall a great app and is great for improving your art skills. It is just great ❤️💖😃

amazing app!. I really love procreate but I’m too lazy to go on and on and on about its cool features 😂. The other day I mentioned how glad I was to live in a time where I can have top quality drawing tools right at my fingertips. First of all, I love a lot of things about it, but I just wanna give kudos to the creators for making a reset button on the tools 😂 I am relatively new to procreate so I always mess around and then my brushes and settings are messed up, and I’m always SO thankful that I can reset to default, so thank you! Secondly, I also had a small idea, but it’s ok if y’all dont wanna or can’t include it. I just thought it would be cool if we could have layer folders? Like to group layers in (some other programs have them). Anyway, just a thought. Love it though!!! And thanks for reading 😊 (edit: thanks for the response! Ironically, I actually figured out about the layer groups like a day after I wrote the review but forgot to edit it lol. And I also found the handbook through the internet and I’m having fun reading it in iBooks. Thanks for reading though, its nice to know that the developers care)

Procreate 5 is amazing but.... I have been using procreate since it’s release and never looked back. This has always been my favorite software, it’s incredibly user friendly and the amount of creativity I have is amazing. It’s so easy to draw on the go and jot down ideas, I absolutely love this software and recommend it to any aspiring digital artist. I have upgraded to procreate five, which after a week of learning about its features I am in love! But I have one small issue with it, the new system of finding blending modes is very annoying, it takes so much longer and it’s just inconvenient, please switch back to the old one, it was a lot more organized and I didn’t have to spend 2 minutes looking for the multiply setting. One more comment, I really wish the program would not ruin the drawing if I changed the size of a certain part, for example if I drew line art and I wanted to make a certain part smaller, I could but it would make the line art look jagged and chaotic, and it’s better to just redo.

Found what I was looking for.... I'm already an Adobe Creative Cloud subscriber and I wanted to like Adobe's Fresco app for drawing and painting on my iPad Pro since Fresco's bells and whistles are included in my subscription. Unfortunately, Fresco's pencil brushes look weird to me, the interface is not particularly ergonomic, and it didn't come together into an enjoyable experience. I also tried AutoDesk Sketchbook, a free app, and was disappointed for similar reasons. I was trying to avoid paying for another premium app suite, but I also felt that the App Store must have *something* better for drawing than Apple's native Notes app (which has a pencil brush that I like a lot). Fresco and Sketchbook weren't it. After these experiences, I purchased Procreate and am happy to report that it is the best drawing and painting app I have tested on iPad Pro. I am impressed by the organization of all the brush options, and the brush strokes look closer to reality in my opinion, whether dry media or paint. That's what I wanted so I am happy to have spent the $10. Great job, developers.

Why did this happen? (Newest update). I’ve used procreate for around 4 years now, the reason I have favorited it for so long was the feelings it allowed me to have about my color choices. A favorite part of art for me has always been picking colors on procreate, and the recolor tool was why I would never use any other drawing programs/apps. The recolor tool was so superior to the new tools in the update, it gave me the ability to make an entire color change (not many tiny parts which takes ages to press them all) and my favorite part was the fact it didn’t effect just one color, but all on the layer. It made all of the colors match better and mix well, allowing me to instantly make all colors turn warm or cold or even a tint of green dye to lights etc. no other feature in this app or any I’ve seen has recreated the recolor tool procreate once had, I still adore the cleanness of procreate and the easiness of finding my way around the app but I will forever be disappointed about the most recent update. I miss my recolor tool, and have been stuck in avoiding art since it came out. Please hear me.

It’s great!!. This app is very unique it is worth the price I’m telling you! It’s great for artists who can’t afford much art supplies you can do it on this app it’s like I’m actually painting or drawing but even better it’s not as good as when your using an Apple Pencil but it works! I love how there is a variety of brushes any other app would provide only a few brushes to work with but this app gives so many brushes to work with I don’t think I can buy brushes. I love that there is a smudge tool and layers it really helps with drawing out of all the apps I’ve seen this is my favorite so far. It’s very unique and I like the fact that you can make your own brushes!! And I love that it gives you a few pictures at first, the reason I love it is because I’m not the very best of drawing I still have a long way to go but I can look at those pictures every once in a while to get my self a goal honestly this app doesn’t have many flaws and I love it I would definitely recommend to get this app!

Wonderful App! (Just a few suggestions!). I've only had Procreate for about a month but it’s honestly one of the best purchases I’ve ever gotten! It’s really useful and anyone can make beautiful art with it. I've already made multiple drawings that I have then used to get on a canvas. It’s one of my favorite apps. But, when I've been using the paint bucket to fill in a line, it makes the whole art all one color. It’s not because I’m on a different layer too. Just I try to fill something in, it makes the line that color but it makes the rest of the space of the main drawing, that same color but just slightly more transparent. Which I find very irritating and I’m not sure how to fix it. This might be a bug or I just might not know how to use Procreate that well yet. Besides this small bug, I love everything about this app! Also, the smudge tool is very smart and it’s definitely something that makes this app stand out from the rest. If you're getting into digital art, I recommend this for all artists! Keep up the great work! ☺️

Professional Artist Must Have. Creating a simple clipart to a beautiful realistic other-worldly creation, this is a great way to unleash your full skill on the go. Digital art was never my favorite, but a few years ago I got this app to try it out. When ever I'm in the drawing mood but I don't have a sketchbook in front of me, my iPad probably is and I'm 'pro' creating away. You can see a time-lapse of your progress and share it, and of course you can save it as an image or clipart. You can edit and alter layers separately, or merge them to edit as one. Connecting your favorite styluses are no problem either, such as a Wacom or Adonit Stylus. There are sooooo many brushes to choose from, such as a brush, pencil, pen, patterns and many more. You could even download a brush someone has created or create one yourself. As you explore and use the app, you will figure out and learn new things. (I've used this app for 4 years and I'm still finding new things). 7.8/10, or if you don't get that joke, it is definitely a 10/10, and I would definitely recommend for any artist.

Great but not quite perfect. Want to start off by saying that I love using Procreate. I find it far more intuitive than the other Art apps on here. It’s the only major one that is specifically designed for iPad and you can tell by its easy to grasp UI. However over the years of using it I have noticed that there are just some core things that have desperately needed improvement yet none of the updates I’ve used have addressed them. More specifically the % system they used for brush sizing. It makes no sense, the difference between 2% brush size and a 1% is so drastic. Not to mention that no matter how large your canvas is any size larger than 20% is effectively useless since they’ll be So large they might as well be a fill bucket. The sizing needs a complete overhaul. Another issue I come across consistently is it’s frustrating tilt size sensitivity. Unless you’re holding your Apple Pencil in a complete 90 degree angle (like a sociopath) your brush will never be the size you’ve set it to. All in all it a great piece of software but I find these two things to be a daily frustration of mine

Love this app but the new update needs some more work. Overall, Procreate is a wonderful app for anyone who loves to draw! The purchase is so worth it and the functions are amazing! I can draw smoothly and create artworks even I’m proud of. However, the procreate 5x update needs a bit more work, specifically the reference function that was just added. Whenever I use that reference function, it makes my new iPad lag, yes, NEW iPad. It has nothing to do with my iPad but instead the function itself. It doesn’t have anything to do with my storage either since I still have over 100 GB left. I’ve heard from a few other art friends and realized it wasn’t just me experiencing the issue. With the reference function turned on, it makes it impossible for me to draw smoothly which kind of defeats the purpose. I would rather just create a new layer and add my photo reference instead. I know it may be a bit harsh to take away a star just because of this reason but since this is a drawing app, I feel like a smooth drawing process is necessary. Other than that, I’m satisfied with the app!
