Best nyc mta app. This is hands down the best app if you are a nyc commuter, then UI is nice, clean, its very informational, and easy to use Some of the things i wish for 1) able to back up your favorites to dropbox or somewhere. 2) notification if your bus is coming in a timer you can set

Sometimes great. When the app works it’s terrific. But sometimes, like today, the subway info is totally incorrect. Also it’s not that user friendly, too many steps to get to the screen you want. But I still use it to see when next bus or subway are coming to avoid long waits if possible.

Good but.... Generally a helpful app. BUT for all of us commuters who ride the same line every day it would be SO much more helpful if we could set up a default route that just appears in map view every time you open the app. You have a “start app on favorites” option. But I still have to go through several taps to get to the only useful screen - the map that shows me where the buses are! I want to set a route as my most favorite and flip a switch in settings so that the map view of that route becomes my start screen. I never look at those other useless screens. They just waste my time! (I made this comment years ago and still it has not been addressed.)

Great app!. The bus trackers work great, the addition of the subway Times is a big plus. The timetables are also handy, maps are always available, this is a versatile app and definitely worth checking out. Anyone who uses buses and subways in NYC should get this app.

Superb!. Very impressed! Elegant and very functional. The developers have been very attentive to user experience and their upgrades are always thorough and on-point. I use Bus NYC over the MTA's own service 100% of the time.

It’s good app, it needs more improvements. I would say one thing that should be updated is time schedule for express busses. Second thing to update it should be a way where Coustomer’s can make a complaint to authorities about busses that skip time schedule, For example people waiting for bus and no bus comes for 30 minutes but than two busses come at ones. I am sure lots of people will agree with me on this. Looking forward to seeing your next updates

Super useful for daily commutes and weekend excursions!. I use the app almost everyday to figure out what buses to take to go crosstown for work or play. I like the live tracking feature. It saved me from waiting endlessly for busses that will never come on many occasions.

NYC Bus is the best. Excellent app, very accurate. Shows all buses on route instead of just the next one that's coming up. If there are any detours or service changes and what they are. Trip planners and MTA contact #'s. Also shows all street names and intersections, App can be used as a neighborhood map! Always updating routes and info.

Love this app, used for years. Great app. If I need a bus, I know exactly where it is and how long it will approximately take to get to my location. Wish we can see trains like the way we see busses but I Gus’s that’s asking a lot. Still the best app ever.

So helpful for buses & subways. Design + data = I love this app. It's essential for NYC buses -- so well designed, I can see all the stops on a map, very intuitive, and update the arrival time & bus locations for the stop I want as frequently as I want by pressing a button. And now the subway info they've added makes my commute easier: I can see whether to go to the F platform or M platform at Essex / Delancey, by making both stops a favorite & comparing their arrival times. This app makes my day easier.

Difficult to use. I would like to have a FAQs or instructions on how to use this app. I have trouble finding my route. Unless you know which bus you want it’s hard to find times , Route, etc. it might be helpful to have the color map you see in the kiosks that outline the entire route for each line. Or to have access to the big schedules. Just finding busses is hard and times are not clear.

Bus route update fast and accurate. I was trying to catch bus Q15A on Roosevelt Ave . I try to find out how long I need to wait for the bus. This app give me the the information I need quickly and accurately. If there are problem with the bus, I can take another bus route. I do not have to waste my time waiting.

POS. (Bellevue Hospital Center professionals know what "POS" means.) I have worked on Wall Street in IT as a systems analyst for 10 years--I am not afraid of tech. I have not been able to make this piece of excrement work. One star is one star too many.

My Favorite commuting app. Forget about google maps... this is the best way to get your commuting figured out if you live in nyc and use the subways and busses. I’ve been using it for a few years and haven’t found anything better.

Solid & Simple. Perhaps the most easy-to navigate, accurate & straight ahead transit app out there. I’ve downloaded many and none come close.

No longer only in my day dreams!!!. This is an app I always wished someone would create. As soon as I heard that someone had put it together, I bought it. At the time only a few buses in my borough were real time and it was still a lifesaver, because the MTA website made it nearly impossible to find even basic bus schedules. Now I'm hoping the same app can be created for NYC trains. Also, it should be noted that the support team is incredibly responsive. If you ever have any issues, contact them! They respond asap and will have a solution within the day.

Very Useful. Bus NYC is very useful and easy to use. I really like the features, such as the route planning and the maps with all the bus and subway stops. I used it on my recent trip to Manhattan, and it was really easy to follow the directions.

Great app for NYC commuters. As an NYC commuter, this is my go to app for my transportation needs. Live tracking of your respective route and allows me to manage my time more because of this. The integration with the trains continue to update and hope to see improvements on live tracking as well. Thanks!

Worth the price. Works extremely well. Frequent updates. Also works with location service switched to: " OFF “. MTA BusTime and printed schedules. And most subway lines. Which is good because things change often in NYC.

Best app for tracking NYC buses. I use this app constantly for real-time bus status. You get access to info very quickly and can easily see bus locations in a nice map interface. Can zoom in/out easily. Great app! Never stand around in the cold again!

Still the best app!. Update: still the best MTA bus app out out there. Easy to use for finding any nearby stops or for specific lines. I’ve tried many competitors and have found this one to have the most accurate wait time indicators and user-friendly interface. I rely on this app every day. Highly recommend!

Good App. This is a really good app.... It's gotten better over time and keeps pace with the bus schedule routes pretty good. It would be great if alerts for the different routes could be incorporated in the schedules also.

the perfect bus app. i use this app ALL the time - i take buses much more, at all times of the day than i take the subway. it shows you any particular bus route you need and exactly where the bus stops are, as well as real time bus location via gps on any line plus real time next bus in xx mins info, plus actual timetables if you are planning ahead. It is an easy to use and understand interface and has everything you need to use the MTA (NYC) bus system. It’s fabulous and i hope the developers keep up the fantastic work that they are doing. I also had a question/feedback for them and someone actually emailed me back! I couldn’t recommend this app any higher (i’ve tried lots of bus apps and was so happy when i found this one).

NYC Travelers. Bus NYC is a great app if you have to travel by MTA buses. I very highly recommend it. It shows you where the bus stops are and the actual location of the bus you are waiting for so you know approximately how long you will have to wait. It is vastly superior to even the MTA’s own app. It has been very helpful in my travels.

Great app! Missing widget. This is the best app I've tried Unlike other apps I've tried, GPS information is very accurate. A widget would come very handy to check bus times in an instant

Uber useful. As a Real Estate Broker I'm all over the city all the time. Buses used to intimidate me. This app changed all that. Knowing when the bus will arrive is so valuable. I've bought this app as gift for clients since it is a big help getting around NYC. Recommend to tourists as well as locals. I love seeing the buses GPS locations on the maps. Great job!

A life saver for my commute. I use this app daily to check in with my reg buses and routes to work and back. It takes a little fiddling around to figure out how best to use it but I've found that if you set your favorite bus lines or go directly to the map option of your current location I can quickly access the timetables, ETA and location of any given bus line. It also has subway/rail status updates for quick reference. This app has been super useful and so far reliable with its regular status updates. I feel like it's a must-have app if you live/work in the NYC area.

The accuracy. This app is very accurate like an elite QB let’s you know the time, let’s you know what’s going on, updates the whole 9 yards. All the other apps are not quite accurate as this one, this app is the G.O.A.T.

A must have app for traveling in nyc. Need to cut down on bus wait time in the morning? This is THE app to download. App will show you a real time location with a moving icon on the screen. Great for those days in NYC winter when you hide inside then ATM section of the bank to keep warm. Wait for the bus there and track it. No more frozen hands!

This app is a lifesaver!. I moved to New York a month ago and this app has been my saving grace so many times over to find my way around! I don't know how I'd do it without it! Thank you so much for your time and effort creating it. So worth having!

It's ok. It's fine if you want to know whether a bus is coming soon but the bus marker is always at least 3 blocks behind the actual location of the bus. If you're rushing to catch a bus that you think is still 2 blocks away, forget it. You already missed it.

Love This App. I use Bus NYC every day and find it invaluable. It’s easy to organize and view times for the various routes I follow and the info is always spot on. This is one app I would hate to be without.

Makes life a little easier. I rely on this app for my daily commute, bus and subway - I’ve tried many other apps but this one is the best. Highly recommend!

Only accurate bus app, thumbs down for UI.. I’ve used and relied on other apps including transit (the battery eater) before someone told me about this one. Other apps constantly showed out of service buses that would pop on the route as moving and then disappear off the radar. This could be due to MTA’s signal but for whatever reason that does not appear to be frequent (or at all) on this app. Downside. I can’t stand the interface and needs to be modified/simplified so that the homepage upon loading shows the routes closest to current location.

My Preferred Bus Tracker in NYC. I know there are lots of options out there for tracking MTA busses, and I’m tried a lot of them, but this one is my favorite. The maps are intuitive. I can pick any route and know exactly where it goes and where the busses are. Tracking the subways is a separate charge (sigh), but it’s a nice feature overall.

Active development team fixing bugs and adding support for new iPhone screen sizes One con: I wish it was fewer clicks to get to a subway map. Not a dealbreaker but would make it a little more of a Swiss Army knife kind of app

Best App for Public Transit Status. I have been using this app for years to track buses and subway status updates. I’ve used a bunch of different apps for these purposes, and BusNYC is hands-down the best.

Has saved me many times. Being able to see where the next bus is gives me options. Otherwise, I'd be stuck freezing and hoping for one.

Super helpful!. I absolutely love this app! I can check ahead of time so I’ll know if it’s worth waiting for. The route updates are really fast too so I’m never worried about updating the route when I need to check the bus time! Definitely recommend this app to anyone using the nyc buses!

This app is so helpful!. I love that this app provides so much real-time information. I use it every time I need to use public transportation to expedite my travel. It provides schedules, routes, etc but the absolute best is the real-time location of the buses. Priceless!

Great Help. I downloaded this app on a recommendation from a friend a few years ago and I’m glad I did. While there are free apps that say that they have the same information, I haven’t found the claim to be entirely truthful. This app gives me up to the minute schedules of the entire NYC transit system and I can plan my trips accordingly. It allows me to see specific routes, exactly where the buses are on the route as well as the exact number of the vehicle. I use this app daily and it makes my commute so much easier.

best NYC bus app. I've been using this app for a while. I love the GPS feature for the buses and the subway alerts/status. I've found it to be pretty accurate except when there are major reroutes for busses.

Best in its class!. I use Bus NYC every day and I really like the ease of use and the accuracy of their data, often more up to date than the MTA signs themselves... Plus it’s very fast. Also, the development team is very responsive and committed to making their app even better. An app that you can trust and rely on 100%! I have only one suggestion: is it possible to add some tiles on the home page, directly linking to your favorites?

This is the best one! I love this app!. I've tried the rest, put them to the test and BUS NYC is simply the best.. They even give you the vehicle numbers for god sakes!! It's awesome.. You can even see every bus and every stop. I use it every morning and every evening coming home from work and it's a god send.. it's right on time for me!!

Can't live without this app. Update after 5years: This is still my favorite NYC mass transit app. It's gotten a lot better at integrating guidance for subway riding. The hard work keeping this app updated is obvious and makes it more relevant than others I've used. Love the app. I live off the B 61 and I use it all the time. All the new improvements are also greatly appreciated.

Shows multiple bus locations. I have several apps on my phone that give me location / schedule data on trains and buses in NYC, including the MTA’s new app. They each do something that the other doesn’t, so that’s why I still have multiple apps that do the same thing. What this app does that no other does is that it shows the GPS locations of all the buses on the route you choose. During rush hour, it’s very helpful to quickly see that you just missed a bus, but there’s another one coming. Other times, a packed bus comes by, but I can see that the next one is just around the corner, so I’ll wait for that one. The UI is has fallen behind, though. I have another app that train and bus info is displayed in a much more user friendly way (I use that one for non rush-hour travel). And the MTA app has become the only one I use for train times. Shocking, I know.

Best NYC Bus app. I’ve had this app since it first came out and find it’s the best app for the bus bc you can easily see the bus routes and GPS location of the busses on a given route. I’ve had it for s very long time and notice it hasn’t been updated in over 3 years which makes me worry it’s not up-to-date.

Reliable, easy to use app - can’t live without it. My apartment is 15 minutes from the nearest subway station, and my job is not easily accessible via subway. So I’m on the bus a lot. The Bus NYC app is simpler and more reliable than Maps or Citymapper - probably because it focuses on doing one thing well (and succeeds!). Both the wait time and checking the location of buses on the map inform my decision about whether or not to wait, and whether to get on a local or wait for SBS. Favorites screen makes the app super efficient. I can and do depend on Bus NYC to help me get around the city quickly. The very few times I’ve had issues, the development team is very responsive. Bus NYC is the best!

After update very slow. Has been reported multiple times. Used to be nice app but after update it is so slow. Also there is a limit on a number of favorites- only 12 which is so annoying.

Stopped Working. App used to work great, but it he past 2 weeks the buses don’t move and is no longer accurate. Looks like this app needs an update or will become obsolete.

Very useful. This app has been very helpful more so now that it has the subway times too. My only issue is that the font size for the bus and train times is very small.

M5 rider. This app doesn't update in real time and is always showing buses about 4-6 blocks different from where they actually are unless you constantly manually refresh. Very frustrating.

Mixed Review. I’ve always loved this app & use it all the time. But lately it’s been very unreliable. E.g. saying the next bus is in 9 minutes when it’s one block away. Or saying a bus is coming when it’s been re-routed due to construction. I hope they will fix these bugs. (BTW I HAVE updated.)
