Doesn't deserve a single star. This is the worst app I have ever used. It doesn't let me grade, take attendance, or view student data. I just get various error messages. I was really looking forward to using this, as my subject area demands I move around the classroom constantly. A working version of this app would have been a godsend, and saved me hours in prep time each week (I have to grade in a regular paper grade book, then enter them into synergy to make my admin happy). Please fix your bugs.

Crashes all the time. Love the idea of this app. It’s actual execution however is a big flop. The app crashes all the time. The only way to fix this is to delete and reinstall which as a teacher is near impossible during the work day. They need to work out the bugs in this app big time.

Grade book won't save!. I was so excited to be able to access my grades through this app since our network at school is so slow, but when I enter grades through the app and hit "save changes", it says it's saving and that grades are updated and then THEY DISAPPEAR! So frustrating when things do not work properly and a waste of my precious time. I've been trying this for 3 weeks now and it still does the same thing. Please fix and I will gladly give 4-5 stars!

Grades please!. Especially now with virtual learning, I’m using every screen I can access to keep organized. Many times I’m on the go grading in blackboard and Teams on my iPad and trying to enter grades on my phone. As an English teacher, I need the bigger screen of the iPad to view essays and writing assessments. I was very excited to see TeacherVUE offered an app, and jumped at the chance to download. Unfortunately the only functionality it has is to take attendance. The biggest piece of the puzzle that this app is missing is the ability to enter quick grades. I continue to waste time switching between screens on the iPad while I grade in Blackboard and then enter into synergy. Honestly, synergy - think like a teacher! What would you want this app to do? I guarantee you, in the middle of a pandemic, attendance taking is NOT top of the list.

Bit of a waste. I used to love this app! It was so convenient to take attendance on my phone. However, for the past few weeks NO ONE in my county has been able to access their class rosters to take attendance. If it doesn’t start working within the next week, I’m deleting it from my phone. There is no sense in wasting space on my phone with an app that doesn’t work.

Cannot access- no google sso. Our district uses google sso for our teachers and students synergy accounts which means that unless there is a google sso sign on button/feature added to this app it is completely unusable as account’s cannot be accessed.

Pointless. I consider this app to be pointless until it is updated to allow teachers to, at minimum, enter grades for an assignment. I don't need to enter attendance on my phone because I have a laptop on my desk. I don't need access to contact info because I don't call parents when at home. What WOULD be nice is the ability to leave my laptop at school while having the ability to enter grades if I grade at home. Pointless.

Extremely Limited Functions. The app only allows you to take attendance, searching student info is buggy and interface is clunky. It would great to be able to grade on this app, but the attendance doesn’t even consistently save. There’s been several occasions where I take attendance on the app, then it shows as incomplete on the desktop. Curious about how much public funds this company is ripping off of our school district.

Wish. I wish we had the ability to use this app to email parents too

App Keeps Crashing. When this app first came out I really enjoyed it. I would mainly using it for taking attendance when I was on the go. Now, it just crashes all the time. Sometimes I can’t even get it to open. I’ve tried deleting and installing it again. It works for a little bit but crashes again. There’s to many bugs in it right now. Hopefully, the developers can fix it and possible add additional features in the near future. Please fix and update!

Used to work. Not sure if it is an iPhoneXR issue, but TeacherVUE does not function, in fact it will not launch. I have deleted and reinstalled numerous times. Suggestions appreciated

Glitches. I really like being able to take roll on my ipad, but right now there is a glitch where after I take roll I need to restart the app because it doubles each class.

Fails to save attendance and lunch count data. Encountering the following error daily while attempting to save attendance: “Object reference not set to an instance of an object.” Lunch count data appears to be saved but the count never makes it to our district server. Once the lunch count is saved on the device I open the lunch count again to find the data fields are blank.

Eh.... It works as long as you're willing to arm wrestle it into submission. Opening a class takes two or three tries, and the grade book part only works when it feels like it (it hasn't been in the mood for the past few weeks)

Ok, but where's the gradebook. App works with the features available. It will be 5+ stars when it adds the grade book feature available in the iPad version. Who wants to carry around an iPad all day. Being a teacher is hard enough! Make my life easier by adding grading on the spot.

Login failure is a pain. I am 100% certain that my login and password info is correct, yet it still gives me an error. When it works, it's convenient. Would love to be able to put in grades!

Weak on iPhone. iPhone version needs more. Works fine for attendance and basic student info. No way to put in grades, or view grades, or communicate with parents via email. Maybe the iPad version has more bells and whistles, but I don't walk around my classroom with an iPad.

Response to issues in app too slow. Beware of this app! Taking attendance works. But don't try entering grades. Once you hit save they vanish and don't record. For grading, go through a web portal. Synergy doesn't seem too eager to fix this problem so beware of wasting your time with anything more than taking attendance!

iPad Pro 2018 Face ID trouble. When enabling “Touch ID” (which is Face ID on this newer iPad) the app no longer opens. It just crashes. The Face ID works with this app on my iPhone XS Max but I cannot get it to work on the new iPad. Can we get this fixed?

Useless for teachers. I was hoping after I finally got in, because finding your schools synergy url is not easy to find that I would be able to input grades quickly on the app, nope! If they could update this where we can access the gradebook and and enter assignments and grades on the app this app would be useful and totally worth the time to find the school’s url, but right now it’s useless app. I am going to see if I on a school day I can at least take attendance on it but I highly doubt it. Very disappointed teacher!

Good for attendance. I would love to give this app 5 stars. For attendance, student details, office referrals, this app is great and allows me to move around the classroom and do all the tasks I need without being tied to my computer. Now if the developers could get the grade book section working this would make the application truly indispensable.

Mr.. Now I have to log-in every time I return from another app and I no longer see the number present when I take role. I still do not open to current grading period.

Could be better. What the app does is great. That being said the only thing that it does is take attendance. If it had a grade book function it would be fantastic.

Please fix this App. This App crashes each and every time I log on to my grade book to enter grades, attendance, or anything for that matter. Each time I go to the grade book, it puts me back to the 1st quarter and it takes time for it to load the correct quarter. In addition, it won't necessarily tell you if you have timed out so when you enter grades you need to save frequently so that when you spend the time inputting hundreds of grades, your work doesn't disappear. Another problem is that you cannot access the same data as you can from the website version. I am not a fan of Synergy to begin with, but this App needs to be improved for basic classroom use.

No function. I used to love this app as it allowed me to take attendance when on the go, I can now take attendance, and it marks it as taken on the desktop- BUT TRUANCIES DISAPPEAR. The app provides inaccurate attendance and not the ability to enter grades. So I end up going to desktop Synergy on safari on my phone. I would love to take accurate attendance on the app.

Needs grade book access. Pretty good overall, would be nice if the gradebook was enabled like the iPad version. I don't need advanced functionality in it but as an art teacher I would like to be able to walk around and enter grades with the student.

Nice try.. While the features are a little less redundant and clunky than the web version access to full features only exists on iPad, not any iOS device as the description says. Handy to have a roster on the go, but that's about it. Idea is great the execution lacks.

They fixed the crash!. They finally fixed the crashes from Face ID issues - thank you! I’m an elementary teacher who NEVER remembers to take attendance. This app saves me from the daily embarrassment of a reminder call! I use it solely for that purpose. It’d be nice if they could add more functionality such as grading and parent emails. Hopefully in the future.

Update is more hassle.. The update has it made it so every time you take roll you have to choose which view you want, seating chart or list. How about a preference so you can always take roll one way (the way it was before) or the other. Also, when looking at the class view, they have removed the # of students present. These may seem like small things but time is a something that is limited in a classroom.

Good. I would give it 5 stars if we could also open the grade book.

Let’s work. it’s smoother than I thought for taking attendance. Definitely has potential. All you need is to be able to take roll but still keep the simple design. I really like the quick incident report tab. Let’s talk.

Needs gradebook. This would easily be 5 stars if I could access my grade book also. I teach woodworking and metalworking. I always take attendance in my room, but to be able to grade out in the shop without my laptop would be fantastic.

Doesn't do anything. Other than provide a class list with pictures and a spot to leave a note, this ap does nothing. I can't see their attendance history, grades, grade book, access grade book resources. To be useful I should have access to nearly the same information I do through the computer, if not, what's the purpose? If it doesn't meet the teacher's needs you've left out arguably the most important element of the education equation.

Garbage. Read the other reviews, I have nothing new to offer. App will crash on anything with FaceID. For everything else (with TouchID) app appears to function, but when attendance data is recorded it doesn’t reach the server (oddly enough it works fine for my co-worker who has the iPad I do). What a waste of time, effort and money.

Needs iPhone/itouch version. I use an itouch to take my attendance via wifi and have to do it from the safari screen. The iPad is to big and bulky for my mobile class, physical education, where this app would be a godsend since using a desktop is impossible with coed classes and my desktop in the girls locker room. Please add!

Crashes. The app crashes every time I attempt to open in. I have to delete the app and reinstall to get it to work again. I can’t do that 5 times a day while I’m trying to take attendance efficiently! I love the app when it works, but since it never works correctly it’s a total waste!

Issues. Still can’t use this app. I used to love this app. Now it crashes about 1.5 seconds after trying to open it. I’ve tried deleting and restoring on phone from cloud to no avail. Serious issues. iPhone Xr if that makes a difference.... three months of continuous crashing.

Useful. Useful app for taking attendance and looking up contact information. I use it every day. but recently started acting up. Is this a hint from Apple that I should upgrade my iPhone? Or my school division’s network /communication issue? I need to Test the connection each time before I log otherwise error message appears. It would be great if I can keep a contact log via app. Am I missing anything?

Nice to have info but lacks a lot!. This app is useful when looking up student information. But other than that it’s useless. I really need it to be able to have the communication feature like the web version. I need to be able to email all parents at the same time or just one parent.

More useless than a PD binder. Everything we need this app to do is missing, and it’s like they went out of their way to brainstorm every possible useless feature and built an app. It’s like they went to that one admin who tried teaching and completely tanked, so they demoted him to admin, and they asked him what they should put on this app. Sometimes I feel like we’re on a game show where they give us piles of garbage resources and watch us like one of those satanic obstacle course shows where contestants are hit with rubber balls on a rotating balance beam.

Useless.... At this point, cannot access saved grades via Grade Book. All m students show up but their grades do not. This makes the app essentially useless... Two weeks ago, I could not access Grade Book from the Synergy app. The update was a step in the right direction, but while I can now access Grade Book, I cannot access students' grades (all the kids show up on the app at 0% even though my school and home computers can access the actual grades). Great idea but worthless right now. Please fix!

Teacher. Definitely need to fix the term problem- should open to current term not default to term 1. Also, teachers should have report card access from their mobile devices. The grade book should be available for iPhone users. Student information should include student schedule as well as snapshot grades. Summary: the mobile option should have full functionality without having to use a computer.

Very disappointed. App is unreliable. It lets me take attendance, but I can't save grades. I tried using it for the first time today in class. I went around my classroom and entered student assignments., then tried to save and it keeps giving me an error. I exited out of the grading screen and then lost all my grades. This apps is worthless if it won't work properly. When I tested it out last week, it worked fine, now it's crap. Please fix soon. My IT dept is trying to help get this fixed, apparently the company needs to give them a patch to install on our servers. This has going on now for three weeks. Why can't the company get this fixed. I really wish our school would have selected a decent company to do business with. I would not recommend synergy to anyone.

Convenient and Helpful. Taking attendance on iPad or phones, referring discipline, seeing snapshot of StudentVUE- there are many user friendly features that make TeacherVUE a favorite.

Is this it?. Agreed with other reviews. This would be useful if I could access my grade book and enter or adjust scores. It should just be called Teacher Attendance View. You can only do attendance / phone calls. Can’t even email.

App crashes after update to iPhone Xs. I have to uninstall and reinstall the app anytime I want get it to open. Worked fine on iPhone 6s, but not on new phone. Might be understandable for a few weeks following a new device release, but after a few months?!?? C’mon!

Very handy!. PRO: This app is very handy to take attendance when I'm not at my computer. I also like that I can look up students' contact information. CON: when will you add the "classes" tab? It would be nice to be able to view a student's schedule in the app as well. Thanks for a very handy tool.

Teacher. For taking attendance, this app is fantastic. You can move around the class rather than be tied to your computer. What it truly needs is the green check mark list for which classes have taken attendance. It exists on the web, why not the app? The same thing applies to grades. How do we know which classes we have posted? Sure, you go in order, but what happens when one last assignment gets handed in? You end up reposting all classes. They are small features, but ones that could help!

Not helpful. I don’t understand this app. Basically, it lets you access your class lists and maybe something else? But basically you can access some info on the go if that’s helpful to you… otherwise, you cannot enter grades or enter in assignments under gradebook or create rubrics for assignments…. Or create assessments. I’m sorry, but this app is basically useless and just takes up space. I wouldn’t download it. It’s honestly easier to just use a web browser. I truly hope a developer for this app will decide to make it more functional. Teachers have busy jobs. It would be so nice to access most synergy functions from a mobile device….

Black licorice and walnut flavor. This app is a testament to the state of public teaching. I was hoping to open it up to give a quick daily work grade while I was on the go. After spending ten minutes of researching how to login (You need your school district’s url, but it’s a synergy version of your school districts url. Seriously, why is there not a drop down menu?), I found out that it doesn’t even let you access the grade book. I have no idea what any teacher would use this app for—looking at their class rosters maybe?

No grade book? Useless app!. Basically useless without grade book access. Definitely not the same features as the iPad version. Not surprised that the iPhone app is garbage after experiencing all the issues with the web application.

Teacher. What good is a program that is supposed to let you do everything on the iPad that you can do on the website, when, in reality, all you can do is take attendance? I have had issues with the grade book portion on this app all year. It's getting rediculous!

Login Failure and Notes on Gradebook. it feels like every week, other week, or even every time the app is updated that I start getting login failures and the only solution I have found is to reinstall the app. Aside from that it works great!

Email. Please add an email option. Since you updated Synergy a year ago I am unable to directly reply back to students and parents easily. Causing a delay in my response to them. Signed frustrated

Error message. For the last month the app has not worked and sends an error message. Was told it would be fixed by 9/28. However, I and other teachers are still receiving this message.

Constantly breaking app. This app is terrible. If you are lucky to get attendance to work, count your blessings. It will work for a limited time, but always breaks. Truly useless.

Impossible to use. I used to like this app to take attendance quickly or when the class is on the go. I tried to use it during a fire drill and the app wouldn’t even open— it crashes every time you try.

FaceID causes crash. I turned on the FaceID login feature and it caused the app to crash every time I open it. I had to delete the app completely and reinstall it to get it to work.

Can't even log on. I have tried so many ways. It's become easier to just go onto the district website to access synergy.

Piece of crud!. It was working pretty good, then suddenly it won't work at all. Doesn't even let me sign in anymore. Hope they fix it soon, otherwise I'm deleting it in a week and using safari!

Great app but missing key features.... PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix it so I can grade an assignment with multiple standards attached to it!! I do not have the option or can even see the standards assigned to the project. PLEASE!!!

Doesn’t open!. Used to work fine to take attendance but since about a month ago the app doesn’t launch. Please fix.

Need access to grade book. As a PE teacher who is outside it would be nice to have access to the synergy grade book through the TeacherVUE mobile app.

Please Update. If this could ever be a working app I would be so appreciative of your efforts. But for now the time taken to attain the district URL with only a view of class rosters makes it a complete loss.

Gradebook!. The app is great for attendance. BUT WHY IS THERE AN ERROR MESSAGE when I try to open the grade book? It worked last school year, but not so far this one!

Crash. Continues to crash on my iPad. Needs some updating. For the money our district spends this should work.

Meh. By far one of the most difficult learning curves, especially if you are on your computer at work. It shouldn't be such time consuming to add things.

Delete It!!!. It will only work for the first open after installation. Once you exit and try to go back to use the app, it will crash. Not worth the hassle.

Poor support and constant problems. The likelihood this app is going to work appears to depend entirely on the day of the week 🙄 Additionally, as soon as I upgraded to iPhone X, the app crashes constantly upon opening. Useless!

iPhone update 10--no work!!. App doesn't even attempt to open anymore! I rely on this app for taking attendance and now--NOTHING! Epic fail

9-12 Teacher. This app doesn't serve much purpose other than looking up class rosters. You can not do any grading or check on a current grade which is what I need it for. Please update with grading, thank you!

Crashing on launch. On my iPhone XS, the TeacherVue app crashes at launch every time after my initial set-up. The only fix is to delete the app, reinstall, and set everything up again.

Really needs autocorrect or spell check!. It is too easy to botch a referral thanks to the above features not being a part of the system.

Help!. I also did the update and I still cannot put in grades for the second semester. Many teachers rely on this app daily! Please fix immediately!

Useless app. What is the point of a TeacherVUE app that doesn't allow me to enter grades or take attendance? All I can do is view rosters and add notes about students. This app has no reason to exist whatsoever.

This software is awful. I can’t even get past the “enter district URL” prompt. The laptop software is equally unreliable.

Can’t get in since last “update”. Ever since you last updated the app, it won’t accept my district link.

Teacher. If you only want your students' contact info and to be able to take attendance on your phone then this app is for you. If you want access to your online grade book don't waste your time here.

Science teacher. Why? The numbers are small, less students per screen shot. The fix didn't change that every time I try to enter grades it still says 3rd quarter progress and we are in the 4th quarter.

Needs gradebook. It’s nice to be able to take attendance and add notes while walking around the room- but that’s all the app is really used for. Kids can see their grades, I wish we could put them in while checking classwork.

Grading? Nope.. Probably the most needed feature, being able to enter progress report grades, is not available on the mobile app.

Crashes on iPhone X. Every time I open the app it crashes on my iPhone X. The iPad version is fine and works but the iPhone version is useless.

Inconsistent. I dropped this app after numerous crashes. When trying to contact them I received no responses. I would love to see my district move away from this.

I would use it if I could find the url. I would love to use the app but it’s been a year and I finally thought it would be easy to do by now. However, I still can’t figure out how to log in. Frustrating!!

Ok app. This app is good when it works. It won't let me put my grades in. The update was suppose to fix that, but it didn't.

Useless for grades...still. I complained at the beginning of semester 2 that the grading periods were not showing like they did for Sem 1. As a result you can enter no grades. You also can't even see grades entered on the desktop version. When will you FIX this?

No real functions. I was hoping this was an easier way to look up student grades and enter them. Instead, this app only does attendance and nothing more. Complete waste of an app.

Fix App. App can’t access class rosters anymore. Tried deleting and reinstalling with no success. App is useless with access to rosters for attendance.

Useless. The synergy website says the app can do the same functions as the browser site (grades, attendance, create assignments, etc) but my app won’t do anything besides show me student information.

Keeps crashing!. I use to love this app, about 6 months the app became worthless. The app will open and then just crashes. Don’t waste your time till they post an update and fix. It appears that they have abandoned this app.

Please fix bug in grade book. Ever since update, my grade book defaults to quarter 1 when opened.

Worse than even Synergy itself. Given how poor Synergy support is, I am not surprised that the app is unusable. Constant crashes on iPad. Website also does not perform properly on iPad. Missing Schoolloop!

Frustrated. Great idea. Concept fantastic. Reality is, it crashes several times a day and I have to download the app and re enter all the links to make this app work. It works for half a day and repeat. I’ve abandoned teacher vue.
