brilliant. the best music sim in my opinion

Awful, ruined by ads. The last thing I need in my life is more ads. I'll never touch this app again. Something so meditative and beautiful, now a wreck. Very disappointing. Any time you are not touching the screen, another ad comes up. You should have just charged for it.

Genuine favorite. This is my favorite "for fun" app. You have to play in magic mode. It's so relaxing and makes you feel like you can play. Thank you for making this!

Notifications!!. Please stop notifying me with useless junk, next one and I delete this app. I would not recommend this unless you Turn off the stupid notifications! Zitherfail!!!!!

Does not work. This app does not work on the new ipad under iOS 5.1.1. No sound. Disappointing.

A toy nothing more. Why oh why can't any of these instrument apps sustain until the note ends?? The only plausible explanation I can think of is laziness from the programmers. Otherwise decent app, but the lack of sustain makes it fake and merely a toy.

Magical Musical Maker. Love this app! Easy! Fun! Soothing... East MEETs West! Zen out on the Magic Zither and learn the instrument as it relates to the piano keyboard. Only wish sample songs included more traditional & less western fare, perhaps some options for the magic screen and maybe the ability to record your own playing. Problem in traditional Chinese. There is a problem in Chinese character. The Chinese character will turn to boxes if the setting change to Traditional Chinese. 如果系統設定為繁體中文時，歌曲名稱全部變成方格。

Easy. This zither is really no as easy as you think it would be in real life. I do play it in real life and trust me it is hard !!!

This app wonderfully combines Chinese art and Chinese inspired design with enchanting music.. The whole experience of this app is amazing. One piece of the experience I especially like is the magic mode. If you play some notes in the magic mode, you might see a beautiful Chinese drawing emerge from the water. Through the magic mode, I feel that anyone can pick up this app and make themselves sound majestic. It even has a selection of beautiful Chinese melodies that you can play -or if you choose- just listen to.

Very good. This is excellent app. It makes me an expert zither player with no background in zither instrument whatsoever. The sound of the instrument is unique and soothing. I wish they were more chinese instruments apps that i could try.

Excellent!. Beautiful, authentic guzheng tones. A strange format, but I like it - you play on top of water paintings of hidden mountains and trees - but this non-traditional format adds to the mood. If you enjoy traditional folk guzheng, you will really enjoy this. As a plus, you can just let the app play the various built in songs, all of which are very nice.

Registration? You're Kidding?. I've had this app for quite a while and it was a pleasure. But that is gone now. To even play this, you have to register and provide your email. Sorry, but there's no justification for that that I can see. Can't recommend it to anyone unless they ditch that requirement.

Chinese pop up window!. How can I change the default language? Pop up window comes with chinese , and make go wrong!

Magic Blunder. *****DO NOT UPDATE***** Alas, it appears that the new, “localized” Magic Zither has joined the dubious ranks among apps of unscrupulous and mercenary sellers who have little qualms about slapping on ads to paid (one more time…..PAID) apps. Moreover, when considering that visual design and aesthetics in general define the essence of this app, bearing witness to some stupid auto insurance quote really adds insult to injury. Don’t tell me, “MEET Studio CO., LTD,” that making an IAP will remove the ads bar; I once purchased the whole, ad-free shebang—remember? Apparently you do not, or apparently you could care less. If you own this app and have yet to update to their “Version 2.2,” just don’t—it’s nothing more than another downgrade in the App Store masquerading as an improvement. The “Magic” is gone and this Zither is most definitely now Badly Tuned and Bogus.

So sad.. Now comes with ads. Should have gone a different route to generate money. More backgrounds, different instruments, but nope you had to put ads in. No thanks. Deleted.

What happened?. Have enjoyed this app for several months. Then today, the screen is full of Chinese characters asking me to complete some task. Not knowing what was wanted I deleted the app. For us English speaking Magic Zither players, let's have requests from developers in language we can read.

Wonderful!. The application gave me the opportunity to make beautiful music right away! As I began to pluck and strum the imaginary cords, my mind drifted off to another place and time. Thank you!

Beautiful. I downloaded this app for myself but everyone I show it to loves it as well...the sound is very lovely. I love the magic screen. I enjoy playing the set songs in the app but I would pay for a greater variety. I've been playing the 2 Christmas, a couple of known classics, and a few songs I have never heard of before on this beautiful app, and I really enjoy it. Also, on the first screen it is hard to play the small size zither taking up the lower half of the screen and with playable notes only after the pegs in the strings, it's to small of a screen area to play comfortably with without getting a cramp in your hand. It does remind me of how it felt to play the real thing in that aspect. I think the zither should be larger, or separated from the piano on a different screen. Those two things would be the things I would need to see improvement in before paying for an upgrade (in case this remains a free version and a full version is later released.)

Registration? Sorry, no.. This was a very enjoyable app... until an "update" changed it so that you can't do anything with it unless you register. Sorry, but all I want to do is play music. I don't want to be "social." I don't want to share my tunes. And I certainly don't want to hand out my email address to strangers. The registration requirement has destroyed the app's usefulness. I've deleted it from all my devices. It's unfortunate that the publisher ruined it.

it is a magic app. your can play zither if your knew a few piano,zither is a classic chinese musical instrument,i can not tell your how surprised i was when i play 'happy birthday' use it,it is awesome,if your missed this app,it is a pity

? Sound. Looks beautiful ! I cannot get a sound out of it. I checked my other sites that require sound and they work. My answer is I want to love it, plan to, willing to but just cannot until the sound comes on. So here's hoping it comes in loud and clear someday.

They're not listening to us!!!!!!. I thought the Chinese had a sense for logic. Obviously this is a myth. They have you register (in English), but when you want to share one of your compositions it's in Chinese!!!! Someone in their company must come to understand how brilliant this app is!!!! Hook it up to Audiobus (with no ads) and this would sell.

Simply Beautiful. The sound is impeccable and can make you feel like a master from just a few strums. The interface is minimalistic, not cluttered as stated before. This is truly a beautiful app.

Sorry, was good, but now not so much.... Yes, at first it was fun and actually musical. But now with mandatory registration... I just deleted it.

Annoying. Update: really annoying, it sent a notification at midnight telling me the history of the zither. Thus waking up me and my wife. Annoying. Every part of this app is well designed and enjoyable. It stays on my iPhone permanently since its very relaxing to strum when the stress is on.

Colourful music. An amazing app full of music and colours. Keep it up .

Disappointing. The upgrade is a regression. 'Magic' has lost some of the original music fluidity. On the whole still a nice application.

Lovely and well designed!. This is really a lovely and useful instrument. This is one of those apps that really shows off the IPad. It makes you sound like a pro!

Nice interface. This app has a beautiful design and I am glad to see that even though this is an Asian inspired instrument the developers still put translation for English. The sound is of traditional Asian 'harp' and will be instantly recognizable once you hear the first note. I was pleasantly surprised. The first page that has a piano above the traditional layout works nicely and is very responsive. I have noticed thought that sometimes the traditional instrument below the piano is sometimes not as responsive as other times. This could just be a minor issue that will get sorted. Most of the time it works as described. The second page gives you a blank 'canvas' and anywhere you touch it will play a note relative to your touch,so low notes to the top and high to the bottom with left and right positions giving a sort of whammy bar effect to the extreme left. Very cool. Every time you touch the canvas a bright color dot and line appear along with a black and white traditional Asian styled painting. It's a very unique approach to making a simple instrument have a striking visual tie in. The description says able to add piano. I don't know if the developer is implying that it has core midi through CCK for external control. I had my setup packed away for the night so I didn't test out my midi keyboard. If this is a feature it would make this app even more fun! I like the app and it was free today. If I was to promote this app at the regular selling price I would like to see some sort of recording feature added along with and export,preferably non iTunes file sharing. Copy/paste would be the goal but I think email out would suffice. The app is beautiful,sounds are spot on and it is worth a try. Hope to see the record added but you could have fun with this without it. Thanks.

Great interface !. However the board bait small, I would refer to make the piano smaller or have an option to hide the piano to make the board bigger. And not so many songs, there should be more traditional Chinese famous songs. The first song i know it's from 1 very old chinese movies made from story. Don't know it's English name. Overall is great btw

Love it, but crashes when.... Hi developer, nice app, I was enjoying "A Laughter From The Sea" song, but as a developer myself, I am now running iOS 5 beta and this App now crashes when I select a song to play. Could you please fix this for iOS 5 beta, I know it's beta... still would love to keep listening to this relaxing song.

beautiful app. It is well designed: sound and visual effect is fabulous, touch is sensitive. Hope we can choose to show or hide the strings in the "magic" mode, so that we can enjoy a full-screen zither with that beautiful effect. Love it!!

Beautiful. This is a stunning app, really captures a wonderful feel for the oriental culture and it sounds beautiful even to an incredibly inexperienced player like myself. DOESN'T WORK. Not on the iPad 2

Wonderful. The first screen is somewhat cluttered and hard to play. But the second "magic" screen earns it the full 5 stars. No strings or frets, but you can still make awesome music on the fly. Very zen like (to borrow a tired old term, but it really is).
