Worth it. Very easy to use. It does what it’s supposed to do, and does it well.

Excellent. Works faster on iPad 2. Great app for rendering painterly effects. The app does provide a degree of customization using sliders. Would like the ability to actually paint for a more hands on experience;)

Love everything except 1 thing silly. I love everything about this app except I have the bundle app with ArtistaOil & ArtistaHaiku and I almost always want to use the ArtistaHaiku & in order to do that I have to wait until the app renders an oil photo first and then afterward I have to change the option to haiku. I wish I could choose the style beforehand. The results are fantastic with both the Oil & the Haiku and I usually blend those results with the original for a slightly "drawn" look and it turns out amazing!!!

Prescribed. This is not a program for artists and it has no serviceable application for artists. It is for people who want to make something look like art by applying certain filters to a photograph that give the image textures and brushstrokes that resemble canvas and paint. These can be manipulated by degree only. You can't make your own brushstrokes, which would be nice. It does what it does nicely, but it is not a painting program, it is a photo effects and filters program. The way that a liar admitting to lying turns the universe on its ear, the idea of looking like art is almost exactly what art isn't. It is merely imitation, which was why the whole appropriation movement over twenty years ago turned the art world on its ear. For a minute!

Great app. I have used this application many, many times and I really enjoy the results. It is easy to use and the results are very pleasing for screen savers and greeting cards.

Minimal control. This is a canned app that applies effects across and entire photo instead of allowing you to paint the photo with more or less details in the areas you want. I suppose for those that want instant gratification, this is OK; but, I need a dedicated and robust painting tool. An example is CleverPaint; but, its developer is apparently not supporting it in iOS12. A real shame.

Great products, but.... Amazing effects, powerful tools for creativity. Would be 5 stars if the adjustments weren't blind. If you could see changes to images as u go, this company's products would be PERFECT

Creative fun!. Just got the app but so far it is great! A lot of fun to explore the endless combinations of color & texture & apply them to my own photos.

Good App. I use it allot and like it. Wish there was a revert botton and bit faster at saving. Otherwise great app that i hope gets lots of updates.

Awesome. This app is fantastic. I just downloaded it and made my first oil painting. This app is very user friendly - simply use a preset style or customize yourself. On highest quality setting rendering took under a minute. I'm using an iPhone 4. This is already one of my favorite apps. Based on this I might purchase the vintage app they make. Even though this only had about 8 ratings when I purchased it, I'm glad I took the plunge

Best App I Ever Bought. Sometimes it is slow but this is the best app ever!! I have had my iPod for 1 year and it is my favorite!!

Excellent. Love this app. Wish the color shift was a bit more nimble, but other than that it's perfect.

Couldn't put it down !. This app is so fun. Almost as good as any game! Loved seeing my photos as paintings. Take a lot of pictures of my gardens, etc., so is great for creating note cards and stationary. The ideas are endless. Had no trouble with the app and the wait time is minimal.

Nomad. The very best!! Epic! Agree, the color shift could have a little more subtly to it but it would be the only thing I would change! Fantastic! Love all your Apps!

Very slow. The program is fun but it takes approx 10 sec for any change to be applied. Makes most faces too blurry unless the picture is just of a face. I was able to make a lovely "painting" out of a picture but it was of two people walking away, backs turned, no faces to blur.

Great inspiration. I have purchased most of the apps in this family and find them all to be enjoyable for manipulating photographs before I pull out my paints and put my own spin on it. Its like visual brainstorming. They are also fast to reply with questions and problems. I own both the IOS and desktop apps and have only had to contact them once, but the reply was within and hour and the problem resolved right away. Awesome apps and company. (I recommend Impresso Pro and Aquarella too.)

Beautiful Results. Nice photography app that turns any plain photo into a work of art. Pros: - Variety of paint filters to choose from. Several categories of painting styles with different subset variations - Great processing filters that preserve original photo detail and accurately mimic oil paint textures with realistic brush strokes and rough canvas feel - Nice zoom edit feature to inspect your photo details - Full Resolution Cons: - Processing wait can be a bit slow, but there is a lot of thinking going on behind the scenes and the wait isn't that long compared to other heavy duty apps. - Interface is a little confusing at first due to vague button graphics that don't really convey the options available. Instead of having buttons labeled 1, 2, and 3 I would suggest either a text label or a graphic that communicates what the button does. - Often crashes if the phone goes to sleep.

Fantastic photo to painting app. This app does exactly what the description states. It creates art from your photos. And it does a great job at it. It turns normal people into artists, or at least starts them on their way. There is no better app that I have found that recreates oil paintings in an automatic way. This app is an excellent find. It literally required no work on my part and the paintings are great. Apple obviously understands great products and putting this on the front page for me to find it was a wise choice! I even found it while visiting my local Apple store..lol The definition of art is varied but some of them are: "the creation of beautiful or significant things", "art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way to affect the senses or emotions". This app does exactly that.

Powerful but needs more functions. This is a powerful "painter" rendering engine, but I can only give it 4 stars because of the lack of user options. At a minimum there should be: • a "backup" slider that allows a user to adjust the amount of any effect, from 100% to 0%. If I find a look I like but it is too heavy, I should be able to reduce the effect until I'm happy with it. • an "undo" button that lets me step back through the last 5 - 8 changes, in cases where I need to go back in my experiments with color, density, saturation and etc. Sometimes I forget where I was, and need to jump back a step or 5. • a page of example photos that give me a general idea of how a change would look; by clicking on an example, my current work in progress would be rendered with the same presets, which I might never duplicate on my own. This list of functions would, in my view, greatly enhance the power of the app by giving more creative control to those who want it, while leaving the mostly click-and-watch functions to users who are satisfied with a mostly automated rendering function. Thanks for making this app available!

Fantastic App. This app does an incredible job and gives you so much variety and control of how the rendered "painting" comes out. very fun to play with and great for making avatars and profile pics.

Mostly Pros. This is a "fun" program to use and it's quite good on some photos but not all depending on the image content. I find that the small iPhone screen doesn't show the apps full potential because you can't see much of the subtleties on the little screen so I would say don't get the program if you only plan on keeping the altered photos on your iPhone. However, when you use the filters on the iPhone and email the finished photos to your computer I think the enhancements can be very realistic and pleasing when viewed in a larger size. From there you can print, up load to shutterfly or just view them on the computer screen or TV and the results are worthwhile. It isn't really for accomplished artists as they will be very attuned to the limitations but for the average or above average photographer who wants to wants to view images in different ways and experiment with some alternative manipulations I think they will like it. For the people complaining about the load speed and the cost...my gosh, I spend more than $2.99 every time I lose a golf ball in the woods; and is an extra 10 seconds out of our life to experiment with a photo we like all that horrible?

Great app. Great app for rendering photos into picturesque painting. Options to change brush size come in quite handy.

Don't Waste Your Money. I thought I really liked this app, but it doesn't render at full resolution. like it says in the description. Also, I'm unable to e-mail photos, LIke someone else posted on iTunes, the photos that the app renders are grainy and look pretty horrible. Don't waste you money.

Brings me joy. I love this app - I like to use it to blend other images with. Yes it would be great to have many updates and additions and a revert button too.

Works as advertised. If you like the look of turning your photos into oils, this app works fine. It does exactly what it purports itself to do. And the interface is good and intuitive. I just find myself bored with the results, even with the watercolor upgrade which I bought. I thought I would get more mileage out of it, but most if the time I just find myself preferring the results of another photo-to-paint app called Painteresque. This in spite of the fact that this one has much more control over the painting parameters. This is strictly a personal aesthetic. Your mileage may vary.

Impressive. Love this app, so many possibilities. I'm learning and having so much fun and cannot believe how it improves my personal photos.

Learn by doing. By doing I mean getting into and familiar with it.

True Artist!. I just love it. i'm so glad i got this because now i can do all the artistic stuff and put it on facebook or have something "PAINTED" and make T-shirts that doesn't scream tacky!

Like magic.... I am a big fan of this company's apps, and have bought most of them since the operation and techniques of using them are quite similar. And the results make them worth every penny! I can't paint, but this app makes my pictures look so great!

Curious about update. I have been a great fan of this app for quite some time now. As I've written previously, the oil renderings are true works of art ( although I'm not such a fan of the Haiku and Sketch options- hence my rating of only four stars). I'm of the school "if it ain't broke, don't fix it," and therefore I am a bit apprehensive about the latest update which was issued today. I am most eager to hear from other users about their experiences with this update, so I am going to put off updating until I can learn more.

Love it. This is the first app I have taken time to write a review for. I love this app. I have been using it a lot for the last few days and getting great results. Well worth the $2.99. Looking forward to future updates and more natural media apps from this developer.

GREAT IMPRESSIONISTIC EFFECT.. Best impressionistic painting app out there. i am a professional artist and sell paintings i have done with this program. worth every penny. But i, you won't be disappointed. GH

Wast of space and $! ! !. This does nothing but blur and sometimes speckle the image. Peoples eyes look absolutely horrid, and without crisp eyes, its just blatantly pointless. No matter what combination of "customizable" adjustments you use, it just looks cheap. The brush strokes around the edges are mildly amusing, but the poor quality of the rest of the app paired with the ridiculously slow load up time make this abomination of a waste of space app not worth it if it was free. I would rate it a zero were it possible.

Does what it says. Really well! Too bad Apple downsizes high res images taken on cameras to the res of the built in camera, and they're only printable at 7" or 8".

Great source of inspiration. For my own drawing and painting. And it makes really lovely photographs too. I love all of these apps.

Not impressed. The effects were fun but not realistic or artistic. Was looking for something more professional and this was below par.

I would like to start fresh with a photo when I press: Get photo. I do not want it to be like the previous one! Please explain! Thank you!

Worth the Cash. Very easy to use and the results are great. I had a picture of our camper at the lake and as an oil painting it looks so good im gonnna print it out on kodak paper and frame it.

Brilliant tool. The quality and variety of effects here goes beyond what you would expect of any painting app. If you would normally think twice about using this type of effect because of the rather obvious artificial look, prepare to be surprised and inspired.... I love it..

Awesome as always!. PhotoArtista is another great app from JixiPix. Like all their apps, it features an unparalleled amount of customization. The only downside to the app is the rendering time, but it's s small price to pay for such a great app. I also like the option of buying Haiku and Sketch from in the app instead of having to do it all separately. Another great app from a company that produces great products!

Love it and JixiPix support. This is one of my favourite go to apps along with their Artista Impresso - Aquarella & Portrait Painter. I am an artist and teacher and can truthfully say these are great and fun iOS apps for creative individuals on the go. JixiPix support is also by far one of the best - many thanks and keep up the good work!

I liked. This no so good as others products of this company, like Vintage Scene, but with patience adjusting the parameters is posible to obtain nice results. Tough, i prefer other apps where there is more control, like photo viva or artist´s touch, but here the procces is much longer.

Almost perfect!. It's a great concept to have an oil-painting app. But the rendering time is toooooo much!!!! Anyway, if u have plenty of time to wait for outcomes, then get this one. Overall, great oil-painting app.!!!

Glad I waited till it was $0.99. Quite disappointed. It's not very user friendly and the sample pics don't really reflect what you really see when you actually use the app. Maybe if the developer included some tutorials or sample default settings it would be better. I'm having a hard time trying to figure out what looks good...if there's anything that WILL look good. Like I said - so glad I waited till it was $0.99...though I still am annoyed I had to pay for this. Don't even want to give it a star but I had to. 

Fantastic app!!. I love how creative this app allows me to be - it lets me express my "inner painter". The different combinations of settings for each filter offer endless combinations, so the end result is always something unique. And I really appreciate that PhotoArtista Sketch and Haiku could be added to this app, so ALL the options are there. It's easy to use, has more beautifully artistic results than other apps I've tried, and I love it! Only one thing - an interface with Instagram so photos could be shared there directly would be awesome.

Ugh!!!. Worst app ever! It would be cool if I could actually generate a photo. It hasn't worked once and I've tried several times. Every time I pick a photo the app crashes...waste of time and $$!

A little disappointed. The free version fills my iPad screen. The paid version has more features but registers only iPod size on my iPad. Disappointing.

If it worked.... The app has potential if I could actually generate any pictures. Whenever I attempt to select one of my saved photos, the app crashes. For $2.99, it should work.

A Good Start. I like the effects in general (both Oil & Haiku,) but (1) no undo, (2) always opens new photos to last used effect & (3) no real time viewing of edits, are all pretty limiting.

Photographer. Great program for a photographer with no artistic talent.

Fun. Fun to use and it maintains photo's resolution unlike a competing app. It would be nice to add personal colors and blend colors.
