Add onto. It would be nice if you included the weather as in where the cloudy conditions are so the person who is using the app knows what they are looking at if part or all the skies are cloudy. Otherwise, I think this app is very accurate when looking at the skies.!!! I give it 3 1/2 stars, @ least until you get the issues fixed.

The best star app period!. I've always been a big fan of the universe and star gazing but never knew what I was looking at when I went outside to star gaze. This app really makes me educates me in seconds as to what I'm looking at in the sky. I love it and so does everyone I show it too. I highly recommend this to anyone who is even the least bit curious about the cosmos above you!

Not worth 1.99. I read the reviews before purchasing this app and I’m actually very disappointed. I’ve tried “reconfiguring my phone” but the stars simply do not line up. Not even close. There are free apps that work much much better than this. I would really love a refund. 🙃

Mesmerizing.... I find myself opening this app all the time to learn something new. The other night I saw Jupiter, Mars and Saturn and much more. If I didn’t have this app I would never have known that I was looking at Jupiter the other night. I’m totally in awe.

Feel like a super hero!. This app allows you to be anywhere, even in bed you can pretend you have ex ray super zoom vision and see right through walls and ceilings to the cosmos. Kids love it!

BEST OF THE BEST… LITERALLY. I have gone through multiple star gazing apps and this is my favourite by far. After I got a new phone I downloaded a few others to find something new but I ended up just redownloading this one instead. Incredibly easy to use and navigate and the artwork in the constellations is exquisite. Not to mention you have full control over all the little settings to make your night sky as chocked full of information or as subtle as you want. GET THIS APP.

Wonderful App. This app was instrumental in me finally see my first shooting star in Aug during the Perseid meteor shower!! True bucket list item for me! Thank you!!! I’ve learned so much about the night sky using this app. I’ve always had an interest in the night sky but never been able to look up and point and identify the celestial body. I can now and I’m fascinated by it and open this app probably every few nights and every time I visit a few place. If you click on it, it tells you details about it which is great! Making it still or moving around is a great feature too because I can be in bed and learn things by moving my phone around etc. perhaps add a new feature that lets you see future movement of stars. Timeanddate can tell you positions of star in the future... just a thought... thank you for a great app!!

Beautiful. Update: I like the new search feature. Just what I wanted! End update I use this app to help me find things to look at with my telescope. I am new to the telescope viewing but have been using this app for learning for awhile now. Have had no problems with using it. It has loads of info on the selected object. There are many settings so you can set to see objects you want to search for at a particular time instead of being overloaded with too many objects.

Love this App!. I use this app all the time. Anytime I see something that's extraordinary bright, I open this up and find out what it is. This app gives you all kinds of info on each star! I LOVE this!!!

Fantastic App, Would Love More Mythology. A fantastic app for finding constellations, planets, and other objects such as galaxies in the night sky. The search feature and informational feature is great for finding constellations and learning about various galaxies and planets. The only thing that would improve this app would be information on the various constellations (that and the ability to click on a constellation and select it). Granted, the lack of story ought to push the truly curious into deeper study of mythology. But a brief description and backstory for each constellation (just as each of the planets have currently) would make this app truly fantastic.

Outstanding, Even My Wife Enjoys It. I am not much of an astronomer, but I enjoy understanding the night sky. My wife enjoys my pointing out planets, but I need an app like this to help me. Pointing my iPhone at the sky and getting the solution is great. The other night I was pointing out planets and constellations to her and she became childlike in her enthusiasm pointing to stars asking me what they were. Normally this is beyond my abilities, but that night I had all of the answers! One suggestion, include an option to use GMT as the time variable. This would make looking at different locations easier.

Deleted my hotspot. Have deleted this app. Since I installed it I no longer had the option of using my phone as a hotspot. Deleting the app fixed it immediately

Very useful. This is a really useful app to have on your phone even before you plan to use it - it's even settled a pub argument over if we were looking up at a star or a planet (turns out it was Saturn!) The only suggestion I would make is that the new ver 3 GUI is not as intuitive as I would have hoped. I somehow got "stuck" in the time setting box and had lots of trouble getting back to real time view. That is also tricky to be sure of since the time bar isn't visible in the app (which is expected, but there is no definite feedback in the app you are looking at the current time sky. I think the majority of casual users like myself would only want to look at the realtime sky anyway, so hiding time setting would be nice. Also the interface buttons at the bottom of the screen are tiny for my thumbs, could they go up to normal iOS size. Finally, it is not intuitive that the settings menu is scrollable down - that one took a while to find the rest of the settings that I knew were in the previous version!

Very informative. Very interesting and informative for the layperson with an interest in astronomy. Really like the positioning function and that it is in real time.

Star Gazing. Great app, It’s intuitive so I don’t have to waste time trying to figure it out. I like that the animations can be turned on or off at will, when they are off I have a nice tidy screen.

not what I was expecting. If your are looking for something that will actually help you locate the stars, the moon and the planets, forget it! this is not for you. This is more like watching a picture of the night sky somebody else took and showed it to you. also its kind of hard to use and understand, I don't recommend it for nothing, spend your dollar on something better.

Love it. This is a fantastic app. I have a few other astro apps with more features but this one has a gorgeous view. When I was on my way home at sunset, this app showed a beautiful sunset glow and moon and some bright stars just the same as the real scene. I was exciting to identify these bright stars.

Penis in a constellation?. So, I was looking at a star on the Bootes constellation, specifically the Arcturus star, and sure enough it’s a penis and balls. Is that intentional? Wish I could include a screenshot.

Awesome. I just came back from a trip to Joshua tree California and this app worked wonderful I was able to know exactly what I was looking at in the sky, both day and night I highly recommend purchasing this app. Artwork is beautiful and the settings are very simple. And the more and more I use this app I fall deeper in love if I had to choose only one app to keep on my phone this one is it. I would gladly trade in all others to keep this app.

Handy for curious people. I love this app! If I'm ever curious about what I see in the sky I can quickly and easily find it. I usually know in what direction I'm looking, but if I'm not sure I can just aim my phone at the sky and it maps it all out for me.

Star Rover. I love this App. I like all of the details you can pull up on this screen, while you are looking at the stars. I love the labels it puts on stars and planets. I also like that this App will show stars, constellations, and planets that are below the horizon. I do wish that they would show the Ecliptic Plane of the Sun.

Best of the bunch. A number of astronomy apps are available. I have tried a number of them. I believe this is one of the best. It is easy to use, allows the user to easily move forward or backward in time easily and see the changes occurring in the sky.

Stars & Astrology at your fingertips!. This app is very beautiful. Lots of view options. I like to know what sign the moon is in and I can clearly see that along with every other celestial body. It's always fun to find out the name of the first star you see a twilight! Great app!

Fun app. I'm just a casual star gazer, so this app is a lot of fun to use and very informative for me. I like how you can choose how you see the sky, for example you can have constellations with their lines showing or have no lines at all. I also like having the ability to turn on and off the compass feature. One thing I wish this app did is to maybe have some info or links to information about the stars and planetary bodies you're seeing, because I know little about what I'm actually seeing. Along those same lines, I wish there was a tutorial for the app or an explanation about the many options. The interface is very user friendly, but I don't know what some of the options are showing me. Overall I would recommend this app to anyone who enjoys the night sky, it is well worth the cost.

Perfect. This app was exactly what I was looking for. It has a nice interface which is easy to get used to, but at the same time has all the features you might need for a night of stargazing. I even just browse around the sky in my free time, changing the date or turning off the sun if need be. Great app! I'm glad I bought it.

Now do you belive me?. I used to go out and point at constellations with friends while walking along trails or in their front yard and say, "there is Cassiopeia... there is Orion... and the Pleiades... over there is Ursa Major and Ursa Minor... and there is Pegasus... ", most would say... yeah how do you know that? Well, with this apps in hand... now, I'll just make a total apps of myself... :)) Great apps!!

Very cool app!. We were out in a field with LTE coverage after sunset. As the stars came out we realized we had no idea what we were looking at, hit the App Store and downloaded this gem! It's easy to use, gives you good info and has lots of options.

Happily more informed. This app is honestly so amazing! I feel so content being able to look up at the sky and identify constellations. It's always been a goal of mine. This app makes it so easy and it's fun to point out to friends. This app is worth the $2.

Amazing!!. A great app to learn constellations and where they are! I have even learned constellations I didn't know before and the pictures in the constellations really help imagine the constellation ! I also love that it can track where you are and show you what constellations you are looking at!

Great first release!. iPhone 4, ver. 4.0.2 Great feature set for the night sky watcher. This app would have received 4 maybe 5 stars, but due to: 1. Way over sensitive to dragging view and pinch&zoom functions. Almost makes it unusable. 2. Doesn't allow fast forward/reverse or slowing or pausing time. 1 & 2 combined makes it very near impossible to zoom way into a planet without it quickly moving right out of view. When these 2 things are fixed, we'll have a real winner! Would also be nice features: 1. Search for an object 2. Ability to set the minimum magnitude/brightness of objects shown so the view is similar to the one in my backyard or up in the clear dark mountain skies. Right now the view is overwhelmed with objects I can't see. I'm looking forward to the next update!

Love it. I have learned all types of constellations near my house AND I could find them!!!! I like the drawings they have portraying each constellation as well. I can't get enough of this app. It can be a little off at times but if you close it and open it again it is right on point!

Disappointing. As a stargazing geek this app is disappointing. Yes, the buttons are easy to use, but needing to constantly pan to find the place in the sky is tiresome. First you need to know what direction--north,south,east,west--you're looking. Then you scroll the screen to that direction. When you look in the opposite direction in the sky you need to scroll again to find your location. The size of the type is way too small and difficult to read the names constellations and stars. More major stars should be identified on this app. There are some free apps out there that give you more bang for your buck. Not worth the money.

OK.... I never review apps. Just don't find it necessary. I've always lamented the fact that I can't read the sky like history's coolest men could. I know what the moon looks like. That's about it. So I figured I'd see what was available to help me know what the hell is going on in the night sky. This app is more that I could have dreamed of. I point my phone up in the air and BOOM. I know what I'm looking at. The app is like having Galileo in my pocket. Or Carl Sagan in my phone. It's that good.

Great app. Totally worth it.. I bought this app because of the positive reviews I read, but was obviously still a little worried it wasn't just what I was looking for. This app has great features with adjustable settings which are very easy to use. I'm glad I bought it.

Really great app!. This app is so cool! Easy user interface and neat illustrations. The only thing I don't like about it is that it shows illustrations of the constellations as well as names of the constellations, but not at the same time. It's a bit of a bother to tap back and forth and back and forth. Show them simultaneously please? Also it's not necessary but it would be neat to have a little background about each constellation. I know a few of the stories but I would love to learn them all. But really, this is a super duper app. I'd totally recommend it. Edit: I've noticed that the only negative reviews come from people who claim that it doesn't have a gyroscope, which is odd because it does. Bottom button, people.

Many Happy Discoveries. If you have astronomical questions about the night sky, and you want answers: this is the app for that. This week, I've wondered if Star Rover would show the position of the planets, could display the constellations according to my real time, relative position, or look backward or ahead in time. It can. It does. I'm very happy with Star Rover. Thank you.

BEST APP EVER. This is the bomb ... Outstanding app to use

Amazing!. Enjoy everything about this app, especially the constellation artwork. Now I have plenty of chances to make wishes with the shooting stars. With this app, any city dweller can easily understand what our ancestors saw in the night sky. This is truly a great tool to spark anyone's interest in astronomy.

Uncontrollable Panning. Promising app severely hampered by hopeless panning. There's no way to pan all the way north. Worse, the polar axis is not locked, so the chart flips around uncontrollably. Worst of all is the auto-pan feature. Pan and hold, and the chart pans too rapidly on its own; try to stop it, and it bounces back the other way. Try to change direction without lifting your finger from the display, and it ignores your request. Pausing on the screen is often interpreted as a command to auto-pan, throwing the display out of control. The jerky movement induces nausea. It's always better to go with an operating system's standard features than to introduce frivolous, needless bugs. iOS's Momentum is better than this auto-panning. Takes far longer to load than more comprehensive apps based on databases of millions of stars. Data about Messier objects is illegible, because it is displayed in dark purple against the black background. Illegible, small, amateurish fonts throughout need to be changed. Other than all this, an unusually pretty app.

Impressed. I'm really impressed with this app and I'm confident it can make it to 5 star rating. I love all the features of this app the zoom and the constellations. It would be great if you could label the North Star or something. Maybe the big and Little Dipper? Alright thanks for this fantastic app.

Excellent app. For an Aussie trying to learn the northern hemisphere sky it has been brilliant - I can even see the southern sky when I'm not there!! The only drawback is the font size - my eyesight is not bad but the app would be greatly enhanced for me if I could crank up the size of the star names .

Please restore some of the older features. I appreciate that the update is more user-friendly to the new user. But as a long-time user, I find it more difficult to change the date and time with the tiny bar on the bottom of the screen. Also, it would be good to be able to change the location by entering lat/lon as before in addition to changing it with the map (or better yet, to be able to search for a location).

Today's Update is da Bomb!. The new, simple and intuitive, interface really makes exploring the sky easy. I've been chasing comet Panstarrs this week, and with the help of this app - SUCCESS! Stone. Awesome app!! I've been using this app to teach my grandkids about what they see in the sky at night. They love how easy it is to use and are amazed at all the information related to what they are looking at. Now they're looking forward to clear nights so we can spend some time star gazing.

Great star map!. Tells me what star and constellation I'm looking at and is consistently on target. I have used if for a couple of years now. Very happy with the detail of information the app offers. Easiest to navigate the sky compared to a few of the other apps.

Star Gazing Made Easy & Fun!. This app is great! Easy to use and has spectacular artwork. Simple, yet detailed...tells you everything you need to know starting by where to look! I love being able to know what stars I'm seeing and know what beautiful constellations they make! Love this app :)

Great App. This is the first astronomy app I've gotten so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I love it! There are a lot of different settings you can turn on and off including star/planet/nebula names, constellation lines names and artwork, landscape/atmosphere, and global lines. The directions are also on the screen so you know where you're facing. It's artwork is gorgeous and this has been an amazing app!
