Great app. Always reliable.

warning not for iPhone. i navx requires this app to do tides in their excellent marine nav. app. I admit I made a mistake by putting this this app. on my iPad for planning. figuring the data would transfer like inavx to my iPhone. oops. wrong you have to buy again. it is a great tides app but i will not pay another 9.99 for data that is available for free. I will pay another developer for a tides app that works on both. "bouy data" is good as well. try that if you want tides both places would have gotten 5 stars except for this expensive anomaly

Excellent app. I have been using AyeTides for several years on the eastern US and Bahamas. It is very reliable and integrates seamlessly with my SeaiQ navigation app. The user interface is intuitive and simple.

AyeTides XL. I've used AyeTides (XL) for several years, from when I used a iBook running GPSNavX and now on a generation 4 iPad running iNavX. We do extensive cruising of the waters from the Puget Sound, the Inside Passage of British Columbia and Alaska and have trusted AyeTides XL all the way. Because of the vagaries of the waters, we keep three up to date tide or current manuals on board. Each manual or book is from different source, such as a government printing office or commercial outlets. When the waters ahead may get narrow or dangerous all three manuals are on the table and being compared for times and speed of flow. It is not unusual for the three sources to disagree by as much as 12% of the time. However, I've found that AyeTides XL is the most accurate of the bunch! AyeTides is easy to use, dependable and stable. If there was one thing I wish it could do it present current direction and speed arrows on the chart presentation. XL. Get this one. It's great!

I use this Aye Tides App whenever we go cruising/sailing to destinations. Love this for real time currents on the Chesapeake Bay...helps me to select the best route for favorable currents toward my destination.

Tides. Good easily accessible tide info

XL flaws. Enjoyed the original Ayetides app for iPhone/iPad for couple of years. Now it won't run on iPad. New XL version displays entire month of individual day icons on opening your tidal information for your region. Problem is, in HD it is too small and window will not enlarge for normal viewing. Cannot configure colors, etc. Not worthy of $9.95 upgrade. Don't waste your money, use your iPhone with original program. FredC

Excellent app!. Great app well worth the expense, I have been using professionally now for about 9 years. Easy to use and complete! Easy to find locations with several methods.

Super useful Wherever we go in the world!. We have used the standard version for several years with reliable results and without the need for Internet access. The graphical representation makes it easy to predict water depth while anchored in "skinny" water. Now the map display with the XL version makes locating a needed station that much easier... Way easier than using lists, especially when unfamiliar with the geographic names. The two day view means no more flipping back and forth between today and tomorrow.

Use often and wanting more features. I use this app all time and have appreciated it thus far but wanting to see a few features: AirPrint support with a few standard report formats. Ability to search for specific tidal/current conditions at a specific station. eg. When will tide be below 2' during daylight hours, when will slack of less than .2 knots or current last for more than 10 minutes during the hours of X' etc. This is great for vacation planning for besting diving conditions, beach combing, fishing, clamming, etc.

Easy to use!. Always easy to use and read. Lot of data that’s easily accessible.

The new flood+ebb markers are so helpful. For us kayakers who tend to look for current less than 1/2 knot when planning crossings, being able to see that marker on both sides of slack is a great addition. Now it's easy to see the window I'm going to want to target.

Aye tides XL. Aye Tides is a wonderful program that I use frequently. When they upgraded for the new iPhone the program wouldn't load. Their support staff is fabulous and have worked with me first to keep access to the app, and then finding a fix. And they did it on a Sunday. Above and beyond any other tech support I have experienced. Thank you for your dedication.

Really Nice. Works as advertised. Have used Mr. Tides on Mac for years. Nice to have it's kid brother on iOS. Would like full screen daily graph in landscape, but that's just nitpicking.

Love the Aye Tides. Just love this app. We use this to check for tides and slack tides and current all the time in the Pacific Northwest all the time, can’t live without it.

Beware: far fewer points than advertised. This app only shows tide data from real time tide locations or historical tide locations. If you are looking for the tide tables for a location outside the US that publishes a tide table, don't buy this app. Example: the nearest tide option is more than 500 miles away from Phuket in this app. Waste of $9.99. Don't buy.

The best, essential, current and tide reference. This easy to use, fun to use, and full features app is an essential in any cruiser’s app toolbox. Don’t leave the dock without it. I use this app in three ways. First, for planning, I use this app to make the rough plan of our voyages. I then cross reference this research against at least one other source, for safety. Second, I use this app underway for spot check out plan and make sure we are on track. Third, I use it for exploring our future journeys, what are the tides like, the basemap is detailed enough for me to visualize future journeys. Worth every penny.

Fix app navigation. Great app for displaying stations. Navigation links and/or menus are essentially lacking where needed in this app. It will be easy to fix but must be fixed before this is ready for prime time. From list, there should always be a link to find favorites, nearest, recent, tides only, currents only, all. Whenever a station name is displayed allow one touch to go to that station. Put BACK link in upper left corner to get back to a general menu, and construct a general menu page. Also I would like to see a clear distinction between current stations and tide stations beyond just bold face type. The graphic display of tides and currents should be dramatically different in color or other appearance. Finally, the direction of ebb or flood should be shown by a compass direction displayed by an arrow in a north up clock face. This icon should appear everywhere a current station appears on the map. And you might as well make the arrow broader or longer depending upon the magnitude of current value. Thanks.

Enormously Frustrating. I purchased AyeTides XL at the beginning of a cruise from Everett, WA to the Broughton Islands near the NW end of Vancouver Island. Initially it worked well, however, once I left the immediate area where I downloaded AyeTides, it became enormously frustrating because it was difficult to find current or tide stations. If you travel only a modest distance since the last time you used AyeTides with Internet, instead of a map with all tide and current locations obvious, you are greeted with a sheet of graph paper like grid with C’s, G’s, and push pins spread out across them. There are no labels to tell you what all these items are. If you are in an area with lots of information, there may be 50 unlabeled points on the screen. If you try to scroll with your finger, the map (if you have it) or the graph paper changes to a table which may start out with tides in Ghana or some place on the other side of the world. Most of the time when you select “GPS” to set your position, AyeTides does not recognize the GPS even though other software does. Manually setting your position almost always results in the “graph paper” grid display. If you are able to find the tide or current you want, they appear to be correct except for Johnstone Strait where the predictions were badly in error. Save your money and get another program that doesn’t try to do the whole world.

Great tide charts. I have been using this app for a while now and i find that its data is reliable and it is very easy to use. I like the current as well as the tide data and it covers the whole world. Well done, thank you!

Aye Tides Malfunction. BEWARE!! First of all, imagine you purchased this app and needed support. There is an invitation on this page to go to their support page, but guess what, there is no email address, no phone number - so just what does "support" mean here? When I first purchased this program it worked fine but after the last iPad update it would not load. Since there is no way to get in touch with them I proceeded to do what worked with other apps failures, namely remove the app and reload. This I did, but it still didn't work. So I loaded it on my iphone and it works OK there. The surprise was I have been billed for 2 downloads (2 * $9.99).

Good, but there's a bug. Just got this app and it works as advertised but for 1 bug I've noticed. I open the app in landscape mode to a calendar displaying the tide info for the current month. The bug appears when I scroll the calendar to any other month. The date numbers get all scrambled and out of order. When I return to the current month, the dates are also scrambled. Other than that one glitch, the app works well. I'm using it on an iPad Air 2.

reliable essential for coastal sailors. I keep a paper tidebook on board in case of iPad death, but use AyeTides exclusively for timing transits in the BC coast. An excellent app that does one thing perfectly.

Wrong tides. The tide data for Vancouver and some of the surrounding area has been wrong. More than once, it’s been ebbing when your tables show flood. I am losing confidence in the data that I have previously relied on.

Best app for west coast. Continuously improved over time. Best app for west coast NA tides. Wish it showed lunar phases on tidal calendar

Easy to use, great support.. AyeTides is easy to use. I use it on the iPad and the information is easy to see while boating. When I couldn’t figure out how to adjust the time display to the 24 hour clock, support was quick and effective. I’m a happy user.

Use it regularly, just right, responsive support. I need tide and current data at my fingertips and AyeTides has fit the bill for me for years. In Canada and USA, and even on a trip to Ireland. Excellent graphic and data layouts. Very responsive support when I reported an incorrect tide station position.
