Fantastic Application. I got my general pilots license in the 90s thanks to FlyBy E6B... as a student, what a nightmare it was to do calculations with the old aluminum E6B computer; capable but primitive. I used to think, "Nasa put men on the moon using slide rules, so I can solve these problems " Then as a miracle I discovered FLyBy's E6B for my palm pilot and how easy and fun it was to do calculations and -as a multinational guy that I am- for everyday use converting temperature and distances. I liked it so much that I got the desktop version and used it all the time. As technology progresses, I was very happy to find that FlyBy E6B was available as an App for the iphone. Their customer service is fantastic, Lonnie always responds emails promptly trough out the years. (Unlike Jeppesen, where I bought two aviation calculators, and both after the battery died couldn't be brought up to life again with a fresh battery, and Jeppesen didnt stand behind their product saying that there was a problem with the calculators and they didnt support them any longer.) I recommend highly FlyBy E6B and it will always have good memories and a soft spot in my heart...

Quality Product - Quality Company. The E6B app is great, performs well and does exactly what an E6B should do. I felt there were a couple of important functions which no other E6B app would do but yet were needed and use often by pilots and flight students. Among these was the ability to provide interpolated answers from airplane performance data. I suggested to Skywriter Software and within days, it was there. That is customer service!

CFII. Great app. Easy to use, very straight forward. I'm a CFII and use the app daily with my students. Almost al of my students use this app. The author is very receptive to suggestions and is quick to resolve any issues.

Maybe. It's not a good interface like the one screen does all it's complex with back and forth screen action but it has vertical nav functions a 3 star rateing because it's not a simple clean program

Exceptional App. I am an experimental test pilot with Bombardier Learjet. I use Lonnie’s app frequently for test mission planning and execution. It is reliable and thorough. Highly recommended.

Pretty good. I like this app, but I would love to see an update capable of computing a fix to fix. Otherwise it has everything else I really need. I'm a C-130 navigator with 12 years experience.

Very Satisfied. This is the one to get. Complete, accurate and easy to use. Nice presentation and user interface. Works well on both my iPhone and IPad. App was redesigned for each device to take advantage of the screen size, not just scaled up/down. Purchase once and use on both devices. Years ago I used FlyBy’s products on my Palm Pilot so I was already familiar with the company and quality of their offerings.

Versatile. Does it all. Particularly helpful for preflight planning. Accurate and easy to use.

Great App (v1.5). I have used a few E6 B's in my time, but I must say that the FlyBy E6 B ring all the bells for me. It is straight forward, easy to use and very intuitive. I'm am a recent convert from the Windows world and I must say Lonnie's update to the IPhone is wonderful. He has added several features that really make FlyBy outshine its competitors. Besides all the normal conversion one would expect from an E6B, Lonnie has added some special features that make getting weather data in METAR and TAF a snap with his Decode WX button. If you find your TAF and METAR reading skills are a little rusty, just hit the Decode button and you are off and running in english. Way Cool!! I especially like the input wheels when doing my conversions, and the small ( i ) icon is great for a reminder concerning input data. The Track and Distance feature is especially nice for quick information concerning a route. Overall I'm very happy for to have the FlyBy E6B in my flying toolbox, it's used a lot. I highly recommend this app to all pilots, a 5 star rating. Happy landings, One Happy FlyBy E6B customer.

It's ok if only. Nice app too bad can't be used on the FAA exam.

E6b. This app is perfect for all phases of pre-flight planning. From TAS to Performance Data this app handles flawlessly! Price rates it 4 Stars.

Turning Stall Speed Calculation Error. The bank stall speed calculations of this calculator are incorrect. A glider with a stall speed of 40 mph circling in a thermal at a 60 degree angle does so at 2 G's. To calculate the stall speed at this angle one must take the square root of 2, which is 1.4, and multiply that number by the published level stall speed of 40 which would make the new stall speed 56 mph and not 80 mph as the calculator indicates. Also, could you add a simple calculator function to this calculator?

Nice. I needed a quick way to convert % gradient to Feet/nm and the developers were quick to respond and deliver. The interface is straight forward and intuitive. I also use this to quickly convert lbs to gal or liters. Overall just an easy to use great app for pilots.

Fantastic Application. The app is very innovative and great for pilots. The developer takes all types of suggestions about the app. I highly recommend this app.

Need weight & balance. Very capable app, esp. weather functions, but would it be too much trouble to add weight & balance calculations?

Perfect for me!. I have used SkyWriter E6B first on my old Palm Pilot PDA many years ago. When the Windows CE phones came out I installed the Windows version of the software and used it until I got the iPhone. When the iPhone App came out I bought it right away and as a corporate pilot, I use it regularly. It does all the airspeed calculations, wind, heading and groundspeed, Vnav, lots of conversions and Nav calculations. Great support and always a willingness to improve the App. Example; A couple of weeks ago, when a group of fellow pilots were discussing circling approaches, I emailed to Lonnie and asked him to add a screen where TAS and bank angle could be input and yield radius of turn and time for a 180 degree turn. I sent the email 2/3, he responded the next day and had it worked out, and on 2/10 got notification that it was available for download. It is perfect for my needs and great support.

This is the one!. I use this every time I fly.. Either in 777 , Bonanza or R44. Has all the functions you could want easy to use... all you need in one app! Highly recommend.

METAR and TAF. METAR and TAF is no longer available? What gives? Without the weather feature, this app is little more than an electronic E6B.

Jet Aircraft E6B.... I fly CRJ's for a living and wanted an E6B for those moments when Dispatch gives you just enough fuel and not a pound more. Helps calculate fuel burns, ISA deviations and many other things. Definitely recommend.

Nice app. Very nice and comprehensive, the ease of use is very nice and intuitive. Wish I would have had something like this when I was a student. As an airline Captain, there are many useful items that are now indispensable, specially the conversions from metric to standard systems. I'm sure the are items that can be improved but as it stands, it's a very nice app for the money.

Great App. I have found this app really useful on both the iPhone and iPad. I have been using many of the features for the university lecturing I do as well as the simulator work. Good work. Really useful!

Flyby E6B is the best. This is one of the best aviation apps I use. As a flight instructor I can quickly confirm what my students have calculated using traditional methods. Great Product. This app has become part of my daily workflow allowing efficient access to material that is essential to a successful flight. I am using the app on the iPad and iPhone depending on the flight with both providing a great option for working cold wx corrections, route planning and daily calculations.

Outperforms Other E6B Applications. As airline pilot and aeronautical engineer I have evaluated several E6B applications and can attest that FlyBy E6B consistently outperformed other applications. Based on customer requests and suggestions FlyBy E6B sees regular updates and additions and has evolved into a tool that is equally suited to VFR single-engine pilots and multi-engine air transport pilots. In particular for pilots flying GPS based instrument approaches, the inclusion of functions not typically available in other E6B applications (descent path prediction for RNAV approaches, cold/hot weather corrections, etc) will be a welcome addition. Highly recommended.

Best E6B I have ever used. This is by far the best/easiest electronic E6B I have ever used. It’s intuitive and very well laid out. I have been using this app for over 7 years and it just keeps getting better and better. The developer keeps upgrading and adding features on a regular basis. This is truly the best addition to my flight bag and well worth the money.

Fantastic FlyBy E6B. This is my second review of this app and I feel even stronger about it then when I first purchased it in 2011. FlyBy E6B is simply the best aviation app on my iPhone and iPad. Even with all the technology available to me as an airline pilot I still turn to it on a daily basis calculate descents, temperature corrections, male and female breakdown calculations, various conversions, wind components, runway friction numbers, fuel times for holds and I even use it to add up the log book at the end of the day. It is deceptively simple and easy to use. With the ability to save my most used calculations and features to the favorites page there is no need to hunt for the features that I use most because it is all on one app and in one place. In my experience the developer is very open to new ideas. I have made a couple of requests over the years and have found them added to later updates so it has consistently gotten even better over time. This app is well done and immensely useful. I recommend it to any pilot, regardless of whether they are a recreational or a professional pilot.

E6B. I had the original E6B that Lonnie programmed. It was almost as big as an IPad! It was an excellent program over 20 years ago and it remains the best today. Useful for everyone from the beginner to the professional........very user friendly. Thank-you Lonnie!

Great app. This app has everything you need and more. Very functional for either the private or professional pilot. I like how easy it is to use the various features. I use the temp corrections feature on a regular basis. Great app highly recommend it.

Great app. This is a great app that I use on every flight. The two functions that I use consistently are the fuel weight calculations and journey logbook function. This is the most comprehensive aviation calculator app in the App Store.

Excellent App. This app has every calculation you can think of, and it also is smart. If you put parameters into one menu, it will remember them an use them for any other calculations that use the same parameters like wind, fuel flow, etc. It has a favorites page so you can put all the things you use the most in one place. Very nice. I wrote support because I needed to use a fairly uncommon calculation, and they replied and are incorporating it just for me! Support is top notch! You will not regret purchasing this app and compared to some of the prices out there this one is very reasonable.

Capt. Long time user of this app. Some functions I use for every flight, notably the time functions for filling in journey and personal logs, which I haven't found anywhere else, and also the fuel conversion calculators. Many other useful functions as well. This is much more than an 'E6B'. Good support and updates for new functions keep coming regularly. Highly recommended!

Saves my bacon daily.. Great app that utilizes some awesome features. Logbook errors went to nil when used in our commercial operation. Highly recommend this app for both GA or commercial flyers. Worth every penny.

Great replacement for my E6B "whiz wheel". I've been using this program for several years starting with the Pocket PC version. The original features are quite comprehensive and now, with new features like METAR/TAF with text zoom, it's even more my "must have" iPhone app for flying. Worth the money!

A must have. This is an awesome app. I use it daily, from reviewing flight plan data, to min RFI on contaminated runways calculations, altitude corrected for temp on IFR approaches, VDP's, etc. This E6B app is must for every pilot from beginner to seasoned pro, from ultra light to heavy wide body aircraft.
