Great for a Free App. I am an adult beginner and this app is very helpful in exercising my mind on basic beginner tactics, while learning to play the game. There are not many exercises in the app, but there does seem to be a variety of difficulty (from my perspective anyway... these all may be a piece of cake for the well practiced chess players in the world). I do like the feature that indicates how many moves you have left while you are in the middle of the exercise, as other chess problem apps do not have that and it is easy to lose track of where you are in the problem when you are just learning. Overall, this is a fun free app and worth the download.

Not enough puzzles. I like the games, challenging and fun. But they only give you ten of them, I was done in a day. If they update they really need to add a heck of a lot more to puzzles to this app!

Great app. Challenging, well packed.

Frustrating Bczz. First, thank you, to the publisher making this available for free. I have enjoyed what I could. There are more than one way to approach the report on this app if either you are up for a good challenge or if you like find a way to burn time. It's possible to want both, like waiting until you've finished serving your sentence. The way I approach is to just find the solution. We assume everyone would. It's frustrating when the solution is bogus. Once that happens I leave the app forever as I'm not in jail and don't need to burn time. Case in point is the W.Pauly, puzzle. The visual solution isn't possible and the print-out of the moves isn't accurate. It's just mistakes but that's frustrating. After that I can no longer trust the app. It's good to get an eye for checkmate. The shorter scenarios are more realistic for sharpening your game. The 3- 4 move puzzles depend on the computer opponents yet unknown moves and are more like hobby time. I'm sure they will fix or remove the W.Pauly puzzle.

Great - but help please. Great game. But I can't figure out puzzle 6. I don't need the solution (which i know) just the theory behind the first move and why it causes the response it does.

Fun App. These chess puzzles are a delightful challenge. Thank you. If you relish the smell of circuits burning between your ears, tally-ho. The app is no push-over but merciful enough to let your head expand a size or two --if you have a big sack of patience and try a passel of times. ( I'm still trying, and still not solving too many. But if you lean in your ear a million meters closer and stifle a heartbeat or two in a row, you just might sense my skull stretching.) Yeah, the puzzles are great fun, in a humble pie kind of way. Great puzzles. As a beginner I have had a hard time finding chess puzzles that were easy enough for me to have any hope of solving. These puzzles met me at my level and have quickly helped me to improve my ability to checkmate. I am actually using more strategy now, and I am winning far more games.

Good, not great. Good graphics, decent puzzles, number of puzzles kinda stingy even for a free ap. More selection=higher rating.
