RainTracker - Daily Weather Gauge Comments & Reviews 2026
THIS IS FOR LOGGING - NOT WEATHER. As a storm spotter, NOAA has given me a rain guage and expects phone-in reports when our weather gets really nasty. I forget to write down what I saw when I empty the rain guage. This is perfect. Since I carry my iPod with me I can go to my rain guage several times and not have to fire up my computer to enter the readings. It is very good when I am at the harbor (fishing town on the ocean) or even inland. I can record the weather as I see it instead of trying to remember when I get home. I would have had the app a long time ago if I had thought of searching for one.
Misleading!. I thought this app would provide me with data!!! You input the data to make your own history... I wouldn't have wasted the $0.99 had I known that!!!
Good apps. I use the app in the field to record rainfall. It works grate for that and I can email the amounts to others. The only thing it needs is a way to back it up and transfer the data to another device with the app installed.
Crashes constantly. This app needs you to enter the amounts for each day. It does not TELL you how much rain fell on any given day. You have to know how much rain fell, then manually enter it into a “journal” like tracker. Not what I was expecting.
Upgrade. Please upgrade app so it does this automatically.
Not bad. People are complaining about it doesn't tell u how much rain there is,u have to put it in ur self. That's what it's about. Stop being lazy already. This app is not bad!
Should be better. Considering that it is the only rain app available there is much room for improvement. Set date for morning after, change range of graph etc.
Worse App on Itunes. I expected an app called Raintracker would track rainfall by accessing area rain records. It is far from that, YOU personally need to ENTER the daily rainfall... What do I need the Iphone App for? Don't waste your 99c
Meh.. Not at all what I was looking for. Wanted an app that would tell me how much rainfall I've had here, not just track the measurements I input. I do not have a rain gauge. Would be nice if the app description clearly stated that this only tracks inputs .
Exactly what I needed. Wanted a logbook to log the daily rain and to see weekly, monthly and yearly stats. Got exactly what I needed. Nice!
Sugar beet farmer. We get approximately 22 inches of moisture per year so every hundredth of an inch is important. I have been recording the rainfall on paper for many years. How come you can enter amounts in hundredths but totals are set to tenths of an inch? Also the charts are useless unless you live in the tropics. I like the app but would like these improvements
Good app. Better if it automatically added local totals that could be edited. Also, if it would work for snow, ice, sleet, etc
What a ripoff. This is the most wasteful app ever. They want 99 cents for us recording water in a notepad not to mention it crashes on the new iOS. It does not even work with Twitter either. Save your money and don't buy it.
rain tracker. I need a logbook to keep up with rain in different fields. This app does not give year to date totals.. You have to add them up yourself.. A MAJOR SCREWUP Does not give options for multiple locations Rather buggy when you click on previous months, app quits
Don't use!!!! Misleading!!!'. Very misleading! They make it look like this app provides the rainfall when in fact it's just a log book for YOU to enter the rainfall amount. Ummmm....there are a million different ways to do that. No one needs to pay for an APP to do that. This is type of App that Apple should remove.
Not what you thinking. This app does not tell how much rainfall their was just helps you keep track of rainfall you enter. Cost me a dollar to learn that!
Must enter own rainfall. This app is not what I expected. You have to enter your own rainfall. The reason I wanted an app was to tell me the amount of rainfall.
$1 notepad. It’s a log that you can put data into. Has no integration to any source for content.
Love it. This is the app I have been looking for. It does exactly what it says - it tracks the rainfall amounts you input. Please please please make this app for iPad.
App not working after IOS update 14.3. Had this app for over 4 years, was working great before IOS update 14.3. Now the app closes right after it is opened, there’s no way to get the data from the app.
Does everything I need. I've been using this app for about four years now. It has all the features I need.
Grower/Farmer 30+ years. This app has great potential but needs improvement. Range of graph should be adjustable, should be noted that data is from the previous 24 hours, should have more than 1 location, with ability to overlay graphs and compare rainfall with crop yields, fertility levels, ect. I have more ideas if contacted.
No such thing as zero stars. All I want is an app that gives me access to NOAA precip records. How hard is that? This thing is just a glorified notebook. If I know how much rain fell, why do I need you?
Great tool. I've been tracking rainfall for sometime now and this app just makes it easier to track and access the information.
Good. Neat little program. I like it. Does not record rainfalls less than .1 I would like to see that just to let me know if there was any rain at all. All week we had rain but totals were less than .1 for each day. So it looks as if there was no rain for those days and still shows zero for the month when i know it did rain! Using the program fir time as well to let me know if i should start to water plants or foundation if gone past 3 weeks with no rain.
Really bad. Doesn’t provide user with ANY information. It merely log the data that the user enters. This is USELESS!
Terrible. This is simply to keep track of your own notes. I need a rain tracker that tells me the amount of rain we got, not how much I put into it.
Rip OFF. This DOES NOT do what it advertises. It shows it has never rained here. In fact, it doesn't even know your location. All it does is let you make up your own numbers & punch them in. I can say it rained here 71" today, scroll to another date, enter that, then it will show a chart of whatever you've entered. RIP OFF. A lie.
Rain Tracker review. Good program. Would like to be able to track rain at several locations! :)
Does the job. Needs an small but very helpful feature. After my yard died last year, I was determined to water my lawn this year. I have a rain gauge that tells me if it has rained enough to forgo watering, but does not tell me the rain by week. Your yard needs around "1.5 inches of water a week to stay healthy. This app helps me log the rain by day. I would really like it if on the week report it could give me the total by week. Small effort change, but a big help! That would be worth another star. As for those who thought this app would somehow know how much it rained at Their house....... Interesting.
Nice, but could use a few other things. It totals each month separately, but I would also like to total the entire season to date. The main thing that Raintracker needs is to be able to enter rainfall in one-hundredths of an inch. The ten inch button is sort of useless. Who gets 10 inches in a day on a regular basis?
Misleading features descriptions. Doesn’t total rain for the year. A major reason for tracking your rain. Misleading descriptions and questionable new round of reviews after update.
Misleading.. You have to enter your own rain info. It does not find the info for you. Useless.
Always read reviews!!. I also thought weather service data would be utilized NOT that I'd be entering it myself every day. Save your money if you're not truly committed.
Great. I have been tracking rain fall for years on paper and I believe this will make reviewing much better in the future.
Not what I wanted. I was hoping that it would show how much rain that was reported in my area. All it does is track the rain that I input.
Raintracker. Interesting app and seems to have good potential. It would be more useful if it would allow for correction of user error, and if it allowed for measurement down to hundredths of an inch. I like the charting facility.
User. I could have done this with a notepad. If you want something to tell you what rainfall has been, this is not the app for you.
Not location based. I was not looking for an app to log data into. Wanted a location based app that tells me the area rainfall amounts. Apple needs a way to refund your purchase if not the app you wanted when you know this in the first few minutes after purchasing.
Do not buy this app!!!. I've never wrote an app review before but this one made me mad enough to submit one. It's basically some diary that you can add rain info you get from a real weather app. This one provides no weather information at all.
Rainfall on the mountain. Rainfall on the mountain is much different than in the desert just a few miles away where the airport is located and official rainfall totals are logged. Great app! I would like the edit features to be easier to acces with the twirly number wheels instead of screen taps. Would also like to have weekly, monthly, and yearly totals available. Would also like the app to convert the totals back & forth from metric to imperial.
Very nice. Great app. Would like to see yearly total also.
Rainfall App. Well worth the money for me. Instead of writing down my own rainfall readings they can now be recorded on this app. Rainfall amounts are totaled and available for historical reference. The app does exactly what the developers say it will do. It is ridiculous for anyone to give this a rating of less than 3 stars, but the ones that did most likely can't read.
Good. I take local weather bureau info and input it. Why not tie it in automatically? It is important to see trends and compare those trends with same time in previous years.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!. I expected that this app used standard weather info available on line to track rainfall history. It is totally useless. You have to enter everything yourself. It doesn't do a thing. What a waste of a dollar. My fault for not reading the reviews. I want my dollar back! Doesn't even deserve the one star I had to give it.
Not worth it. I just assumed that this would tell me how much rain we had. I didn't think I had to tell it.
Nice app. Easy to use and handy to have for a quick record keeping.
Great rain tracker /logger. Suggestion- if a day was erroneously selected (it did not rain on that day), the history for that day should be completely deleted. Instead it shows a rainfall amount of "0.00" for that day that was "cleared" or amount was deleted. Also, after the latest version, 2.0.1, the app will crash when I go from viewing the weekly chart to viewing the monthly chart or vice versa.
Mosshappyness. Have notified company previously with no success in fixing. A date is added to history every day app is opened. That day with a "0" entry is being used to figure the rainfall average so that number is useless. There should not be data added to the history just because the app is opened.
It does not report amount of rainfall. You tell it amount of rain. It does not tell you how much it has rained in a particular place over a particular period of time. No point to this app because you still have to search elsewhere to find out how much it has rained

Rain tracker. Rain tracker work well in agriculture one suggestion is that you could make it so multiple property rain fall can be recorded separately
Review. Updated Review "If i could give it zero stars i would. New updates have included bugs as listed above where data goes missing, defaults to inches etc etc. and not fixed for close to 2 yrs) I comment once again; no updates (last update Jan 2011) to any suggestions posted by anyone in these reviews. Why ask for comment/reviews if nothing is listened to?" No updates to any suggestions posted for the past couple of months. Come on? Rainfall is recorded from 9am to 9am the next day but recorded under the previous days date. I.e the rain I tip out of the Gage this morning is recorded under yesterday's date. Therefore I suggest that the date should default to the previous days date rather than having to change the date every time I enter data. I would like to see averages given in terms that rainfall is discussed in i.e. monthly rainfall (total rainfall for that month) yearly rainfall (total rainfall for that calendar year) average monthly rainfall (total rainfall for the month added to other records for the same month over a number of years divided by the number of years) and not a daily average for a month which I have never heard rainfall described in before. I would also suggest that the graphs are displayed in the traditional format of a bar graph and that the above i.e. averages are also graphed (as a line graph overlaid in a different colour) for monthly and yearly and not that same information displayed as it is now on the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly graphs, but different information.
Calendar, improvement.. I like rain tracker app however, it would be better if I could go back and insert / edit data in the past.
Great Concept. Easy to use. Data backup and restore function via CSV file would be good and please fix the bug with the measurements always reverting to inches.
Shouldn't be in the App Store.. Now the App just crashes when I click on history. Useless to me.
Sadly disappointed. What a shame this app won't work properly. Please fix the inch/millimetres and add a save button would help, It's easy to accidentally change totals. Would help if one could edit information also.
Good Tracker. But it keeps defaulting to inches instead of staying on mls. Would like the 9am option as previously mentioned.
A good start, time for update!. Simple and effective yet nagging issues for those needing to record and compare rainfall *over time*! 1. Default should be rainfall at 9:00am for Previous day! 2. Should maintain settings as mills or inches, annoyingly switched back to inches. 3. Should be able to compare monthly and yearly falls/averages etc or easier interface to export same. Wish list A. Ability to add yearly/monthly averages for specific station/location an compare against actual. B. better management of storage of yearly/accumulated data. Keep it up. Handy app!!
Upview. Needs monthly & yearly totals to be any good Entering falls of 50 or plus 100 mls is now a joke entering one mm at a time, bring back previous ability to enter 10mm at a time please.
Great app. A great app, only started this from the start of the month, can fill in this in my lunch break, as I have no time at night , but I do agree with other feedback, I fill this in on todays date for yesterday's weather conditions and rainfall upto this morning, a monthly history would also be great, BUT this is the best way for me to keep records of my weather an rainfall. Cheers
Numeric keypad for inputting rain amounts. Why not just bring up a numeric keypad to input your rain totals. I dislike it when I accidentally press too many taps on the increment buttons only to have to clear the entry and start again.
Rain Tracker. I’m very happy with this app, especially since the millimetre/inch problem was fixed.
Great app. Simple to use just what I've been looking for
Great App. The application works but is VERY limited. I wouldn't purchase this again and for the price - $1.19, there's much more thought out apps for free.
Bill Stratton. I get annoyed when inches are used as we all use millimetres in Australia. One has to be mindful to check the inches against millimetres, before recording the days reading, that is taken in millimetres.
Kinda. Pretty good but wish could go back and edit😏
Simple and easy to use. Could use some UX improvements - you can't decrease a reading, only increase or reset it. You also can't record values for the next day, which is useful for event readings in 9am-9am records. Still, nothing else out there like this
Rain tracker. So far so good - at this stage doing everything I expected it to do.
Mr. Simple to use and display history.
Raintracker. Great app. Easy to use. Well worth a try!
Ok but could be better. Good but hate that I can't go back & edit if I made a mistake. I also hate that it keeps defaulting to inches when I have checked millimetres.
Rain tracker fun. Perfect time to trial rain tracker at the moment here in Qld. Will take quite some time to beat these rainfall records. I check levels every morning at 6am, so I would love to have the settings allow for automatically recording the previous day. Other than that, this is a cool app.
Raintracker. Great app for keeping track of rainfall. Very easy to enter data, good summaries and charts. Has ability to backup by emailing csv file, however cannot restore from that. Otherwise would be 5 stars
Fantastic!. Really great app and easy to navigate around. Thoroughly recommend this app for anyone wanting to record their daily rainfall.
Good but some improvements needed. This is the type of app. I have been looking for, however there are a few thing that I have found or read about that need improvement. I don't like the idea of previous months or years data going missing, this must change. The scale for recording the rain fallen needs to stay the same as it is set not change back to inch's. I would like to be able to compare one months rainfall in a graph to the previous year/s. Graph would be good as a bar graph. Great feature to be able to email results to yourself but it needs to be securely stored in the app in case one forgets to religiously email it.
Rain tracker doesn't like 7.1. Since the recent upgrade on my iPhone I can no longer access the history. It just closes down. The app needs an appropriate upgrade also. Soonest please.
useful app. good app. it does the job and has lots of possibilities for updates in the future.
Simple. The great thing about this app is it's simplicity and completeness. It's exactly what I needed.
Rain tracker. The rain chart won't load 2 years later chart still won't load
Wiped my records. I just went onto the app today and have noticed that all my info from last year has gone, I had emailed the info to myself but losing all that info isn't good enough and I have read other reviews where the same has happened. Also should have annual totals.

Not automated. I was expecting this to be automated. Input is totally manual. You want to be paid for this app? "fool me once, shame on me".

Great. The app is really great now. No longer crashes when going to history, nor is it showing the same reading all the time. The only thing left I can think of would be to add the ability to total rainfall over a period of time. It could be a running total for the month, year. Thanks for the previous repairs and additions.
Junk app don't buy. I am not happy with app I though it would tell me how much rain I have in my zip code not me telling it how much we are having ....I Just gave you a buck to found that out !!! Easy way to make a dollar.
Good tool. Thanks for adding hundredths of an inch. Here in Arizona, every drop counts!
Gardener. Great simple app. Love it
Not worth $2. Was hoping for something to help me know when to irrigate. This does not download rainfall for your zip code... You have to enter everything yourself... Lame.
raintracker. It is just a note pad. Not tied to any database. I already deleted it! Where can I get a refund?
Waste. I thought it was going to tell me how much rain had fallen. A total waste of money. Fail!
Rip off. I already have a notepad. There is no value to having this app. I want a refund!
Gives NO rainfall information- YOU ENTER INFO. Gives NO rainfall information- YOU ENTER INFO. This would be useful for tracking a rain gauge at your home... otherwise move on to other weather APPS.
How lame can this get? Worthless!. It doesnt register how much rain fell each day- you HAVE to enter this every day. This is nothing more than a cheesy misleading graphing app that is just lame, lame, lame. At least weatherbug lists this in real time and adds each month accumulation. Sheez, what a huge ripoff.
Deleted immediatley. Worst app, wish i could get a refund. I would give it zero stars if possible.
