My Hurricane Tracker Pro App Reviews

Great if you’re a amateur global meteorologist. But not so good with the details. And the notifications are handy to be reminded there is a storm. I need to zoom in to details as to where a storm is. Bought the pro - non of it is special.

Works. Gives just enough info on direction velocity and distance

A little annoying. I chose to just do Atlantic in my settings but when I go to “now” it still insists on having a large message on the screen saying Alert about there is a Pacific storm. Annoying that I have to read thru it all the time

Satellite. Bought this app because Hurricane Pro retired. The reviews for this app were the better of many; however, its not as good as the retired. For example, select satellite for the current storm and its not the satellite data for the storm in question. That feature needs to be fixed. When you drill down into the options and select satellite to choose your option and the correct images appear. It’s just that home screen connected to the current location of the storm that is not accurate.

Great app purchase. The iOS app version integrates a lot of Important information. It provides the facts and not the drama you get from the live news reports. So while you’re waiting for hurricanes to arrive or go off shore It’s the best place to check for information.

Problem with tracking the storms. I love this app, but I’m having an issue. There’s two storms in the Indian Ocean that I’m trying to track and when I click on where it says you can track them it keeps airing and telling me to please try again later.

Great App. If you reside anywhere, especially West of the Mississippi, you need this application so you can be forewarned of any hurricane, tornado, and tropical storm in your area. The app gives you most of the pertinent information you need but for a couple of bucks more you can get every bit of information your local TV weather reporter usually receives from the National Weather Bureau.

Best. Hurricane Tracker. Period.. You WILL NOT find a better Hurricane Tracker than this very app. You have the latest advisories and tropical outlooks as soon as they come in and with Hurricane Dorian having advisories issued every hour, you’ve got the latest track, models, cone, pressure, etc. I’ve recommended this app several times and is honestly THE MOST critical part of your Hurricane plan besides the plan itself. What’s even better is you can choose to revive push notifications for ANY storm in the Atlantic or Pacific (not sure about Indian) and have a new notification when a new advisory comes in! I’d give this a 10/5 if I could but alas I can only give 5 tops. *ALSO: This app (and pro version) have very few to no issues with bugs, speed or crashes! I’ve never experienced any problems in the last 2 years of using this app besides storm data not loading on a slower connection.

Not so good. Unfortunately, my experience with this app has been less than favorable. I have found other tracker-type apps which are far more informative and interactive than this one...and free to boot. I gave it two stars only because it works, that is, it hasn’t crashed or refused to open, etc., but that’s about as good as it gets. Being an app I paid for, I would have expected far more. It’s basically no better than the free version. However, I will give it kudos for doing what the creators wanted and expected the app to do, it got me to send them money. My advise is not be be similarly fooled.

Great App, one suggestion. I don’t live in an area of hurricanes but much of my family, and my friends, do and I like to keep up on the current events with them. This is a great app, especially on iPhone. On iPad, it looks great but appears to be missing a few features that I see on my iPhone. For example, on iOS, I can view the cone projection of a storm but on iPad, unless I’m not seeing it, I can’t find that option. While not a huge deal, it is a common feature of storm tracking and is a big confusioning and frustrating for a user to expect all the features of one version of the app on one device to not be there on the same version of the app but on a different screen. All that said, I highly recommend this app.

Great app. I really like this app. It’s simple to use, keeps me updated on hurricanes and I like the layout. I live in Louisiana so your app is a necessary part of life.

Very practical and usable app.. This is a very useful app. It has a number of options, and provides relevant information. It is easy to use. During hurricane season, this app is very helpful. It provides more information than one can get even on TV.

Simply the best. I didn't need the pro version. The free version was enough for my needs. I purchased the pro version because I felt the developer should be rewarded for such a great app. Something this well done deserves payment. Thank you.

Could be better. The maps cannot be zoomed, but I see that the developer has addressed that in response to other posts and is supposed to be included in a future update. The radar map doesn’t cover enough area. For instance, you cannot see the southern Gulf of Mexico / Yucatán peninsula or south and east of Cuba where hurricane paths often go. The app is user friendly and looks promising if these issues are resolved.

Clear, Concise and Intuitive. Great app to supplement my other weather apps. To-the-point data Packages NOAA/NHC data and filters out the noise, which NOAA needs to do and is important, but most of us don’t need that level of detail and this app wonderfully condenses that. Also like the tornado reporting tabs- no app I have packages the data as well as this one does. I especially like how the tornado data includes narrative about the siting, e.g. “Xxxxx County deputy reported funnel on the ground.” Well done app.

Very useful app. For those in hurricane prone regions it provides up to the minute status of storms.

Hurricane Weather. Fantastic App for the South Eastern segment of the US. This is especially true during hurricane season.... It keeps you up to date on your surrounding hurricane situations.

Very good.. Been using for about two years now. This is the only one i would recommend. I would like to see additional information and data regarding specific parameters associated with the storms like storm surge included in the central hurricane analysis tab.

Fantastic App. It makes researching current storms a breeze. I am a sailor in the Caribbean and I appreciate that this app makes it very easy to get data on storms.

My source .. I have a home on Gold Coast of Florida . This is my tracking go to day and night . I love the satellite view ., it gives you a real life picture of the storm severity.

My Hurricane Tracker Pro. I really like the app and would have given 4 or 5 stars but in the “Past” section, a hurricane is missing; Hurricane Arthur, July 3 - 4 Virginia Beach, Va. I looked for this one because we were in a house right on the beach as this one past and was interested in the specifics. It did represent Hurricane Irma well which passed near my current residence in FL.

Love it, but find one thing confusing.... I really enjoy this app - I love following current storms and past storms. But I do find the blank screen on opening the app very confusing. I know there are no hurricanes in the Atlantic at the moment, so I don't expect to see storm data - but perhaps some message, or just the map, could appear so I know the app is working correctly? Thanks for considering!

Best information available. Simple, well-designed app that gives you all the information you need during hurricane season.

Excellent App. Does a solid job with current storms, but really shines with data on historic storms from 1851! to present in Atlantic and 1949 in Pacific. I’m finding matching historic tracks to current positions and local conditions a good supplement to spaghetti. Thanks for this data.

Customizable , good for early alert. We Florida folk appreciate storm alerts early and often. You can get alerts for Atlantic, pacific, or both. Good updates and all the mapping tools to make this a good comprehensive app.

Great app!. With family spread out all over the globe; this app gives me up to date real time info from anywhere I want to look at.

Best for Hurricanes. I love the weather. I love the magnificence of a hurricane but also understand the destruction they can bring. After living in Florida for years, I have come to terms we can not predict the weather, especially hurricanes. This app does not predict weather, however, it keeps you updated of what is going on. It is the most user friendly weather app (I have purchased several) I have ever seen. I love how it shows how far away the storm is from you, latest spaghetti models, cone. Also, an awesome feature is the past. I now know Hurricane Irma was 80 miles from my home and the wind speeds were over 80 miles an hour. The Pro version is worth more than 2 dollars. Keep up the good work!!!

Awesome. I used the free version of this so. Now that the hurricane season is in full swing, I decided to spend a few bucks. This pro version is worth it. Excellent presentation and accurate data.

Fast loading. Great app. Loads satellite images and radar faster than other similar apps. Just wish I could pause the loops, they run really fast.

Falling behind other Hurricane apps. Forecast maps and many others can't be zoomed, too small on a phone to be seen clearly. I'm really disappointed with the pro version, not really much better than the free version. I've seen better hurricane forecast apps.

Please come back. In my opinion and by far one of the best app for weather conditions and sadly not available anymore. For the developer, do something about it. Very useful, accurate and simple, specially with this climate change phenomenon.

Best Investment. I don’t even remember how much I paid for this a year ago but I was a long-time free user and loved that app so much that I I got the paid version and I’m beyond happy with it. Best hurricane tracker app ever!!! I’m a Floridian and as soon as hurricane season comes, I know I can rely on this app. To the developer: please consider making hurricane widget for the Home Screen and the Lock Screen!! It would be a game changer!!!

Customer Service. Not only is this app simple and streamlined, it has every bit of information available about each storm. Best Tracker I’ve Come Across. I always like simple access to hurricane tracking and projected wind speeds. This app lets you get right to it without having to search for it like in other apps. Some other apps might not even have it. Great app so far

Helpful to see where things are happening.. It never showed Alabama being hit. Much more accurate than Trump.

Used this app for years. I have had this app for years. The only negative I can say or ideas for bettering this app, to be able to touch the red dotted lines for more tracking of how close it is to someone's home.

Simple and clean. Too simple?. I still don’t understand how to refresh the list and be sure it has the newest up to date info. I kept seeing 14:00 forecast and current location of typhoon at 12:00. Would appreciate if app refreshed more often or at least gave me option to manually refresh with new data.

A breath of fresh air. Hurricane apps on the app store have been dreadful for years. This gives me hope. Please continue improving this app! Add a loading spinner for radar images, etc. the data is perfect, just make it a bit more user friendly (the plus icon is a poor choice for an 'enable notifications' button...

Excellent app. Like this so I bought the Pro version... The cyclone tracker works well. One suggestion: I live in Australia and we do have a major cyclone season up north with many breaching the coast every year. The Forecast page covers Indian (thanks) and the upper Pacific (as in east and west) but not the South Pacific....with Fiji, Noumea, Tonga and the FNQ area of Australia, where we get battered with major cyclones. We have a major emergency right now with Cyclone Winston in Fiji. Can you please fix this as we are going to the islands soon? Also can you extend the sea temperatures to include other areas than the US? Thanks.

Should have more features. This app should have a developing sat view with models off the coast of Africa which is where most Atlantic hurricanes start, it doesn’t have much to it

Basic, simple, does what it says. I found the app to work well, it was very handy when planning a trip Florida recently.

Un-needed areas of warning. I have checked my settings and I have set for Pacific coast. I specifically am interested in the coast of Baja California and Mexico. Is there a way to narrow down the portion of the pacific I’m alerted to? I don’t need Papua New Guinea and Australian storm warnings.

Spaghetti Models and Radar are gone!!!!. Spaghetti Models and Radar are gone from the app. Spaghetti models were very useful and the radar was a good overview of the hurricane. Why? Is it coming back? Used to be my most favorite hurricane app but that is disappointing.

Adequate Tracker. As a basic no frills tracker, it’s OK. No choice of models that I can find and no Gulf of Mexico weather buoy information either.

Storms in ap are not where they really are.... The ap does not have the storms where they really are in the storm. :-( My update is current and this last storm for Nate showed it still out at sea and it was past New Orleans.

Individual model predictions not shown. This app used to show the individual model predictions. Now it doesn’t. I pay the same but get less. This seems to be how things work nowadays.

Update your storms. Hurricane Michael was upgraded to category 5 when it hit. You need to update his statistics

Flickering. When I go to satellite view the GIF’s jump and I cannot see a view it’s flickering with a grey screen other than that it’s great

Meh…there are better apps.. The more technical and localized forecast elements are missing. Even $4 seems overpriced.

Needs tweaking. This is a great app except you can ask for an alert radius. I’m getting alerts for places over 300 miles away when I set it for nearby.

Needs to have more information available.. I live in the Caribbean. We like to track invests and depressions as well.
