A Great App with Amazing Audio Quality. This app is great. I don't use voice memo apps a lot but this one is the one I will turn to the next time I need to create a voice memo. The audio quality is incredible and I just recorded a two second memo to test it. It is truly amazing and i applaud the developer on their work. The $0.99 update is only worth it if you need it. I can't believe something this great is free!!!

Not a user friendly app when emailing. The makers of this app give the impression that if you pay the extra amount to email your message it's easy....it is NOT! I have a 26 minute message that I'd like to email and after purchasing the app, I'm being given additional instructions and things I have to do to download the file to something else or somewhere else just to email it! I never would have bought the app knowing the difficulty in emailing the thing! Boo hiss! :(. Not user friendly at all! If you JUST want to record and keep the recording on your iPad fine! But if you want to let others hear your recording via email....THIS IS NOT THE APP FOR THAT PURPOSE! :(. I am not one to give a negative rating but I was so upset at this, I had to take the time to write.

Terrible "app support". I had a problem with the Voice Memo app--a 70 minute file locked and I couldn't open it. I wrote an email to two separate addresses asking the app's tech support for help. 24 hours later, still no word from anyone. This is a disgraceful performance. Update: one week has passed, and still not word one from "tech support." If you buy this app and encounter any trouble, you're on your own.

The world is not flat... But I guess it's getting flatter. =(. I use this app only occasionally, but I've always liked the look of it. It does a good job for what it is. Had I been paying attention, I would not have updated to the new version. I understand that this current trend for a flatter look and feel is being driven by Microsoft and now Apple. I hope it's just a passing fad. I don't prefer over the top skeuomorphism but I don't care for the flat, soulless look on the horizon either. The new flatter design is rather boring looking. You changed the deal, ap deleted. Why did you change the deal from when I purchased this ap? It used to allow sending of a memo without having to pay for it again. All Ap Store users, I recommend deleting any ap that changes the conditions downward from when you buy it if you had to pay for it in the first place. It is dishonest and those companies do not deserve your or my money or the ad money.

A handy app. It’s a handy app, with a simple interface, and it keeps a seemingly permanent record of your recordings. My one beef is that the slider used to rewind and fast forward recordings is too small, making it difficult to accurately replay certain quotes without listening to previous “tape.”

Compatibility. Downloaded this app the other day...very excited to have a recorder. After two days of attempting to get the meter to register so something ANYTHING is recorded it has failed. The app creator offered some things to check but from reading the forums it would seem apple is the one who needs to fix this and thus far has not. I must caution you that until they do you may be sorely out of luck. It seems unfair to rate this poorly when it seems it is in apple's corner.

Good but it is really a $2 app. After spending an hour, and a lot of frustration, trying to figure out why my recordings were not syncing back to my Mac, I found out you have to pay an additional $1 to be able to enable the app to export your recordings back to your computer. This should be made clear when buying the program. It's not that two dollars is too much for this app, but you shouldn't be tricked into buying one thing and then having to pay extra (double the initial price) to get what you would expect should have came with the product initially.

Took away functionality then want to charge again for it in update. Updating Review below. Some update or another TURNED OFF functionality of moving the file to your computer. I HAD original cost for app, AND paid .99 to turn on e-mail function. NOW it wants another .99 cents to copy the file off the app onto my computer when I sync it in iTunes. Scam. I'm going to find an app that won't keep downgrading when it is updated then have to pay to do what I used to do. First the cost total is 99 cents for the app and 99 cents for turning on the e-mail function. You do not need the e-mail piece to get recorded files off the iPad - the latest release lets you do that in iTunes. Reasonable sound quality - even when only using iPad built-in mic. E-mail function crashes if the memo is too long/big. I recorded 45 minute lecture, will not e-mail off iPad - crashes program. (not surprising, file is probably too big for my e-mail provider to accept as attachment) Keep that in mind if you are traveling (have to connect to iTunes to get longer recordings off iPad). Otherwise works well. 15 minute memo e-mailed just fine.

Now that I've really used it.... The sound recording quality is excellent, the interface is easy to use. The only thing that keeps it from being five stars is after paying the .99 to enable the export and share capability, I expected teh advertisement bar to go away. When I am reading something scripted, it can be very distracting. It is also unprofessional to have the advertiseing bar there when you want to use the product to record others or have others listen to recordings in a business environment. Please remove advertisement for paid users. Thank you!

Great app for audio recording. I bought this app to record church sermons, works great with built in mic, or bringing the rec output from the mixer to the iPad, both methods work great, able to record 2 hrs, no issues. Highly recommend!!!

great app. Now I can finally let go of my portable cassette player. This is a great app for recording interviews. Much easier to record and transcribe than a cassette. I also had an Olympus digital voice recorder gizmo, but the files from that do not open on my new computer. This app is perfect for recording interviews. I have it on my iPad Air and iPad 3. Worth the .99 cents, many times over.

Heaven-Sent. I just purchased this app and feel that it was/is such a blessing, even if I never use it again. I was able to record the last voice message from my beloved sister (deceased) and store it safely in the cloud. I have been hanging on to a 10-year-old Motorola Razr for fear of losing this particular message. The voice quality is excellent, easy to use, easy to share/email/store. Thank you for designing this app!

App is great but paying 99 cents per email is stupid. This used to come with the ipod touch or iPhone and it was completely free. Now we have to pay for it and I think that is very stupid.

Tablet Must Have. WhenI feel inspired to improvise a musical piece or record a thought to revisit, Voice Memos captures while enhancing the moment.

You can multitask. When you are recording, you should see a red stripe going across the top of he screen. Go into your new application. When you are done, do not close it. Rather, tap on that stripe across the top. Tis will take you back to the recorder... I hope this helps...

Recorder app. My mom an I purchased iPad2 at the same time, we both purchased this recorder app to record "talks" at (at the kingdom hall) at the same time. Mine works great so far-the longest I recorded was 68min w/no problem. My mother recorded hers for 73min and the recorder would not play back. It just read "ERROR" so, I don't quite understand the difference why my app works pretty good and my mother is having difficulty with hers.

Very Limited and poor functionality. I bought this because I needed to save some phone messages. It is easy to use and the recording was just as clear as the original messages. There were two things that really bugged me about it. It wouldn't allow me to Save a custom label. I have to type it in every time. And the most annoying thing is that when you want to type in the note box the ipad keyboard covers it so you can't even see what you're typing! That alone made me cringe!

No Customer service. This app has made great recordings without an issue, but I m unable to sync it with iTunes. Customer service is non existent as no one has return the several emails I have sent over the last week or so. It is a shame as the recording app itself is fine. How difficult would it be to make an instruction page on their website for trouble shooting. Not returning emails is the worst type of business. I will hve to look elsewhere due to their lack of response?

EXCELLENT. I only just downloaded this application, and tried a "test" record when it downloaded. I could not believe how clear and precise the recording was. It actually sounded better than the real "ME"...

Awesome. The app rocks! I just have one request that you add the ability to record while the app is closed. I don't know if Apple included the API for that but I would really appreciate it.

OK app, but.... This app works fine as advertised, but only when I have access to the web. When I don't have Wi-fi I can't seem to record anything because the program always wants to connect to the Internet, BEFORE it will start recording. So if you have access to a connection, works great. If you'll need it in a location without a connection, may want to try something else.

KendiTech Recorder. This is annoying. I bought the app and recorded the first memo. From reading the reviews, I knew ahead of time that I needed to buy a second app to transfer the memo to my computer. Unfortunately, it won't let me buy it! I keep getting the message "You must purchase the app that this item is for before you can purchase the item". Apart from advising KendiTech to invest in a good copywriter - I'm stuck and can't transfer file to the PC. I clicked on support for the app and was delivered into a non responding website. Another 99cents down the drain it seems.

PERFECT. I'm an English teacher in China and this app is EXACTLY what I was looking for! I needed something to record practice interview exams with my students, and the iPad has a great little microphone and speaker for recording and playing back their interviews, and the interface couldn't be easier to use. You can even pause the recording in the middle, perfect for me for the part of the interview where the student is given one minute to think about a given topic before speaking for two minutes. This way I don't have a minute of silence in the middle of the recording that I have to fast forward through later. Outstanding! The only thing I can think of that might make it better for me is if the recordings could be organized into folders or something like that. Still a great app though and well worth the $1!!

Latency. Not sure if its caused by the app or the device but there's a lot of latency when played back on higher quality speakers. Sounds good on the iPad though. And yes it's true, its really a $2 app. As soon as you hit "email" or "export" it takes you to the store to but an add on. Typical way for a New York City camera store to do business but on iTunes?

SCAM! bought once before and now asking for more $$$$$ why?. Had bought this app over 8 months ago and have been using it and not an issue, today after recording a conversation I wanted to email it to myself as I have done since I got it and it wanted $.099, albeit it is not a lot of money but why I am I charged again for something I paid for before and have been using?????? can someone from this company answer me and the other users that are experiencing the same disappointment and frustration?

Works great. Sound level is good, I'm glad its not .99 per email. I guess its only .99 to purchase that functionality. After you initially run the app you don't need to be connected to the internet. I turned off my WI-FI and it worked ok.

Well worth the price. Dear Voice memos+ app developer, I just purchased your app for $1.99 this morning. Would you please add more functionality in the next upgrade? I currently use the iPhone 4's Voice Memos app to record background vocals/ideas. I then transfer the m4a recordings to my iPad which does not show me an icon for the iPad version of Voice Memos. That's why I bought your Voice memos+ app. Your app does not give me the option to play m4a sound files that I recorded and transferred over to my iPad. I would also like the ability to see visual symbols of the sound amplitude in your next upgrade. I will send you a screen shot to follow in the next email. Can you give me an idea of when your next upgrade is projected to release? Also, what is the file extension of your app sound recording files? At the very bottom of this screen shot you can see the sound spikes of my sound recording. I like having this kind of visual cue for sound recording layering and other purposes. I also want your next upgrade to have the ability to pull my iPhone 4 voice memos sound recordings m4a files and transfer them over to your app. I would also like help files and/or a FAQ built into the app. I would like the ability to import sound files off of my email inbox and over into your app. I would like an iPhone version of your app. I have older iPhones 3 and 4. I am unlikely to upgrade to newer iPhones. The $1.99 price for the iPad version of this app is a very fair price because there are no annoying ads and this basic app does the job of recording memos. Of course, you can use it to records vocals for song ideas or background vocal ideas or other similar singing and recording ideas. For what it is I give this app a grade of B. I hope to move my rating for the next upgrade up to a grade of A after the app developers implement all of my suggestions. Hence, my current 4 star rating.

The best app for recording. Love this app

Yes, it works. But not much else.. Yes, it records. I'm not a developer, but I can't imagine making this was too labor intensive. And yes, it's free. But... I can't scrub backwards and forwards along the recorded content, which means no searching. And 99¢ to email yourself the message? It's probably better to pay that 99¢ to an app that allows you to do that for free, I would think.

Like the new look. The simplicity of the new design is nice. Now can you please do something with the 80’s pixelated icon. Sorry, but that icon has always made me cringe. I know you could come up with a nice, flat retina-ready icon. I enjoy your app.

Why are you still asking me to buy this?. The app is a decent bare bones voice recorders. But it's export being limited to m4a is a problem, but not an overwhelming one. What really annoys me is the continual asking for the $0.99 every time I try and export, even when I bought the product. I removed the free version from my ipad, and from my idunes, and from the app folder in my profile, then clicked "buy" in the itunes store. I was told I already bought it and it asked me to re-download it, which I did. I then recored a voice memo and tried to share it and again I was asked to buy it again. I go through the hoopla again in the app. I have to do this at least once a week when I want to export files.

Downgraded. The recorder USED to me awesome and had amazing sound quality. It was just upgraded the other day but in my opinion downgraded. Now when I replay the files the sound either comes from only one side of the iPad, or out of one speaker if plugged in, and I am almost certain the quality has gotten worse since the upgrade. Would be nice if it were fixed

Very reliable and steady tool. The tool is very convenient, allowing to record, edit and upload your record to Dropbox or any other cloud based storage. Very recommend.

Does each email cost 99 cents?. The app is dirt simple to use, and the built in mic gives good voice quality. But is it really .99 to send each voice email? If so, I won't be using that feature much...

Can I get my money back?. After I paid for it, i still couldn't scrub through my recordings! Useless for anything more then a few seconds. How can i scroll through my recordings? Also, there are still ad banners on the bottom after i paid. Why?

Best app ever. When I first got my iPad I was disappointed to see no voice memos. Then I found the app which was only 99 cents! I thought it would cost more money. Like $3. I thought it would be a rip off. But it's just like the real one! You have to buy it.

Great App. I really like this app. The sound quality is insane. You can hear everything so clearly. I now use this app whenever I need to leave a note for myself or just to record stuff. Great app.

Very good APP. Everyone is correct that it's 2$ since you need to pay another .99c to be able to email the recording to anyone. Thats definitely a cheesy move. The sound quality is great, and you can record as long as you like which is nice. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because it would be nice to be able to edit the recording overall. I use it for Band practice and it's great for that when we are working on new songs, BUT it would be nice to be able to just hit record at the beginning of practice and then edit and label the songs to email everyone after. You quickly have to get in the habit of remembering to start and stop recording each time. Ap cannot multi-task. Beware that this recorder will not keep recording if you switch to another application such as Notes, although it will record even if the device is turned off. I'm not saying the ap is faulty, just not what I was looking for. This is on the IPad at least.

It lost a very important audio. I spent 2 1/2 hours recording something that was to be furnished to the police. I pushed the pause button and the next thing I know the entire recording was lost. Why?

Kenneth Kao, greedy developer.. I just recorded a rehearsal using this app. I would have gladly paid $5 to have the ability to email all the mp3s to the bandmates. $.99 each song, though?!?!? What the crap? Make hay while the sun shines, I guess... As soon as the official app comes, you have nothing but an expensive knock-off. The sad part is that I would love to put five dollars in your pocket for this. But, because of the price per email, you won't get a single penny from me. Change your price to a one time fee, and I give you a bunch more stars and a bunch more money. EDIT UPDATE Just spend $4 on another app that emails for free, every time.

Turns off mirroring!. This app works well and looks great. I bought it because it said it ran in the background. I do PowerPoint presentations on my iPad and push them to my projector with Mirroring. I wanted to be able to record the audio as I gave the presentation but this app turns OFF mirroring as soon as you start to record. So I wasted my money. Will not work for me and I will never use it for anything else. I wish developers would give more details on their apps!!!!!

Good recorder. Good job. Does exactly what it is supposed to. Easier to upload to OneDrive etc than some of the others (which i deleted). Excellent for that tense situation where you need to have a stealth recording - iPad visibly off yet still recording.

Great Tool. Great since iPad doesn't have one pre-loaded like iPhone. I use it to record song work tapes and rehearsal run throughs, then load the results up to Dropbox to share with the other musicians who need listen back and it works perfectly. The trim on the mic always comes out fine for these quick recordings whether I'm alone with an acoustic instrument or there's drums 5 feet away, I use it all the time. First app review I've written and have had an iPhone since 3G came out, so definitely happy with it. It's a great sound recording and sharing utility, the graphics (which looked fine in both versions people are talking about) are irrelevant, right?

Just what I needed!. This app is just what I needed! (This iPad didn't come with the voice memos app like my iPhone did) I'm in college and I learn best if I have recordings of the lectures and am able to takes notes at the same time. This app allowed me to record and use Microsoft Word app at the same time. Plus there's no annoying ads! This is well worth $2!

Voice memos don't save!!. Don't buy this app. It's full of bugs. Voice memos often don't save.

Fix please. If another app interrupts the recording, the recording doesnt pause or save and whatever was recorded is lost. Fix it asap

100 memos. how to transfer entired memos to pc without sharing individual of them?

Not sure why apple did not include this. As an app, it does what it says well and is a bargain, but watch out for the sting. If you want to use this app to share your recordings via email, you are expected to pay a fee to unlock this feature. I would have thought it would make more sense to up the price a bit and include this feature from the get go.

Needs Better App Icon. Great app, looks really good. However I would love it if this app had a better icon, one which looks more like the one you see for Voice Memos on the iPhone. Thanks.

Okay. If you are looking for an app to work with Voice Memo recordings from an iPod, which sync over to your iPad, this is not it. It would seem the wheel has been reinvented with the iPod Voice Memo app and nothing else can see its files. If there is no way to hear iPod Voice Memo files on an iPad, why do they sync over? Am I missing something obvious?

Ugly new version - same good mechanic. They just uptaded the graphics of the apps and it's now more ugly thanatologie ever. But nothing else changed and the app still working well.

Good with drawbacks. This is a well-designed, easy to use app that sounds fine. The one major missing element which may send me seeking an alternative is that you can't name the files, only label them in one of several categories. I need that capability to easily find my ideas again. Whoever created this app, send us an upgrade please.

Hate Flat Design. The buttons look ok I guess but I hate the flat icon. The previous icon looked much better.

choonsucks. we can record anything with iphone without charging. I agree that this app is reAlly good, but given the fact that this is free on iphone, please let me rec anything with multitasking, which can be done with iphone.

Nice. Does the job

Needs trimming and text notes. Good app, but there's no way to trim a note like in Apple's iphone app, and you can't add text notes to a recording. Would be 5 stars with these abilities.

Doesn’t work. Says I have to allow in privacy settings...however does not pop up in privacy settings so cannot allow.

Dont waste your time. The only way you should get this app is for free. Even after that you might not like it. At least it doesnt crash.

Overmodulates!!. If you are recording a live performance and it gets loud, this program overmodulates - needs a fix for that!!

Paid and can't email. File too large? It is one hour. My money is wasted. Why would there be a limitation? The only other option is to use iTunes filesharing. Why can't web access be used? Save your money.

If you upgrade to another ipad you pay again!. The fact that this is not disclosed is really annoying. So you get people to pay twice-I upgraded to an ipad 2 and cannot download my voice memos unless I pay again.

what is the real cost?. You have to buy an in-app pack in order to really use this app! Why not just charge 1.99 an be done with it!!!!! Why not be up front about this!!!

E-Mail Does not send. The app records well. However, I am unable to move the recordings out of the app. I believe that the recordings are too large to e-mail because the e-mails never get sent.

Great app. This is a great app. You can have so much fun with this.

Thumbs Down. The so called file sharing feature, available for an extra 99¢, is only obtained by connecting your iPad to your computer. The buyer should be warned that it can not be done wirelessly. There are better solutions with better Apps.

Disappointing app. Tried using this app to record VoIP calls but every time the VoIP app loaded this app closed and stopped recording. Save your money if that is what you are looking to do.

Outrage. Good App, but really, 99 cents to email a voice memo. And even more outrageous, 99 cents for each and every mailing of a voice memo. Let me buy the App and let it go at that. What a rip off. Everyone should write the company and complain.

Perfect. Need I say more? I bought this for my iPad 2 and it works great. I needed to record a few voice notes and this was great! And only 99 cents!

REC ?. This app did not work at all. Could not hear what you record, would not play back what had been recorded. No star.

Highly recommended. Excellent microphone. Easy functionality. I use it for guitar and vocals and it records both equally well and balanced.

Don't Buy!!!. Recorded my lecture with this app (IPad 4) yesterday, and am not able to load it onto ITunes. Lecture won't even play on the IPad, with a "error" message popping up each time you push play. Apple, where is your normal voice memo app!!!!!

Nice App. Easy to use and the microphone and appearance looked very cool, up until this last update. It looks like a cartoon now. Please return it to its more realistic look...then I will continue to update and use.

Doesn't work with mic input. Works great with built in microphone but does not using external mic, even though description lists that feature.

Slow Email. I am on a very fast wifi and emailing a 500k voice memo took over 5 minutes. I am sending a 5 meg file now and it has been over 15 minutes and it is still not done. It seems like this has something to do with the app since I have have received large files in seconds.

Pretty good. Very easy to use, and new USB exporting is convenient. For me there is only one problem, the audio format. Voice Memos for iPad only supports m4a, please add wav or aif, and I will rate this app 5 stars. Well after a little test, I come back to change my rate to 1 star. There is a huge bug, some Time the record can NOT play. And I tried to export to computer, still can not play. Which means the record was definitely ruined. This is happening frequently. Please fix it. It is a shame that apple does not support refund. So do not buy this one until they fix this stupid bug.

Wow horrible update!. Updated version makes u pay .99c just to email a copy to urself. These developers must be hurting for money. There's soo many other apps out there that let you do it for free. Download this if u want to waste ur time.

Big issues in iOS 6. This app will allow you to start recording, waste time, and when you hit STOP, it crashes. This is on an iPad gen4 with ios6 beta 4. I know it's still beta, but ios6 is being released soon. You should get on the bandwagon.

Great! Pay fir an app that does not have active buttons. Cannot save, delete, or anything!

It Works!!!. Unlike others that I tried, this one worked first time as advertised, and it was easy. 1. Recorded memo with push of button 2, quality good 3. Added text annotation 4. Emailed it to myself 5. Transferred to computer and through iTunes, I opened iPad and memo was under apps Using iPad2 and WindowsXP

SMALLER MIC IN BACKGROUND. The microphone icon needs to be much smaller, and should be in the background. We don't need that huge symbol of a microphone to make use of record and stop.

Not worth it. They now added ads to the product and top it all off it's $0.99 to share memos. Lame. I'd rather pay a one time fee and get the ads out. Oh wait! Even after paying the app theres still ads. There are better one out there. False advertisement FREE?? Lol!
