Fixed. From the previous reviews I was worried this app would be lacking.. from what I can tell(I don’t know how bad it was) it’s been fixed.. I didn’t have crashing. Its easy to navigate.. I don’t have the book, but the app has made me want to purchase it. Has helpful stuff like giving cpr to a baby. Stoping blood flow when it’s an artery.. even how to basically do a tracheotomy.. well worth the 6$ specially if you don’t have the book. Or even if you do both used together probably helps.! Had to write this to help get the info that it’s actually good.. the information could help many of people

Stopped Working. If this was a test to make sure we were prepared with a backup version of the actual, physical, book, well played. I do have a copy. It still seems to work at least. This app doesn’t. One star.

Support for newer devices. What’s the use of updates if you can’t even support screen resolution for devices that are two years old ??. Apple’s supporters and app purchasers spend a lots of money on these apps it would be nice if the developers at least keep them up to date for devices .

Crash. Used to be a quality app. Now when I open it, there is an immediate crash. Can’t use it at all.

Took my money. Doesn’t work. Paid the $6, it wouldn’t work when I was out in the woods and needed it. Was told to delete app and re-download to make it work and now it wants me to pay again. What a waste of time and money. You don’t deserve to charge for something that doesn’t work.

Impressed.... After reading the reviews and the intro, I really thought this was going to be a waste of money due to this stuff having no real purpose in my life. After reading through this app and playing with the different tools, I really would have to recommend this app to others. It's weird, but the information is actually good info, I'm going camping in a few days, going to try this stuff out, some how I have no doubts that the different topics covered are going to work as illustrated. This really is a good app to have...just hope if I have to use this stuff in a real survival event that my iPhone has juice in it. :) (no Internet needed for the app..that was another plus.)

Last update is useless. The app does not allow me to continue to read the book I already purchased, it only takes me to a screen offering new titles. When I eventually navigate to the title I own it’s simply does not open.

Great but.... Great app (must have!) but please update for iPhone X. (Would be 5 Stars with iPhone X support and faster / cleaner interface). Speed, ease, and clarity of access are critical in a survival situation.

The Wrong Information On Tornadoes!. I'm from Oklahoma, and can tell you just about anything you need to know about a tornado, what with the highly informed weather forecasters in this state and what I've learned. Statistic and safety information is incorrect, and I've already wrote him to change it once, and they haven't done it in a new update yet. He says that the winds are way over 300mph (385), and the highest recorded wind speed thus far is 318mph. He says to open your windows to equalize the pressure. WRONG!! Do not stand in front of glass. The debris will open the window for you, you loose precious time, and the equalization of air pressure has been proven to be a myth by numerous sources. Also STAY IN YOUR CAR if you are caught out on the road...this information has been changed by the American Red Cross recently for safety concerns due to death and injury statistics, and the fact that you are shielded from debris (duck below car windows). Also heard Dr. Greg Forbes on the Weather Channel mention the car thing just the other day. He is the one who came up with the TORCON index (your chance of seeing a tornado within 50 miles of you on a particular day), and is a severe weather expert who trained under Dr. Fajita, who invented the FSCALE we still use to this day. This is an excellent application however, and should be heeded after certain parts are UPDATED and CURRENT for the year of 2010. Then a definite 5 stars.

a must have. fantastic guide you can pull out anytime to keep things fresh. pictures and video are great additions! highly recommended if you have any interest in survival techniques. EDIT: no longer works. from 5 stars to 1. please update.

App won’t open after purchase.. App will open for less then a second then crashes (iPhone 11 running current OS). Support link is broken, contact link also not working. Great book, seems to be an unusable app.

Great app!!!. This is a very useful and informative app! For the little bit of money spent on this app the information in it could be extremely helpful in saving lives in a situation where your suddenly faced with having to survive. It would be smart for everyone to read threw this information and have it in the back of their mind just incase they need it someday, because you never know what might happen!!

Does not work. I paid for this years ago and now when I need it it doesn’t work

App would not load. The app would not load so I deleted it and reinstalled and it worked!

"The Zone". This gives one real world options available to every survivor as well as helping to get you in "the zone" so that one can make necessary decisions and think in a survival mode.

great app, worth the few bucks. I got this mainly for the wilderness first aid. I first purchased a $2 app, which was terrible. This one has everything I could think to ask for, and a lot of stuff I would never think of--delivering a baby?! Additionally, it has tons of other stuff that would be incredibly useful if one were lost, such as how to identify edible plants in the wilderness. If I'm ever lost for days, I think I'll do just fine with this app, and a solar charger for my iPhone!

Was good, now is terrible.. Used to be a good and fun app, but now is just terrible.

Key to learning the outdoors. I've been interested in the outdoors and surviving for about 3 years now... As soon as I found that it was a passion of mine I immediately went to the store to buy a good survival book... I came across this one and was completely satisfied... I liked it so much I bought this app.. It's amazing that it actually contains everything you could think of when it comes to survival... I'm constantly on this app and learning and refreshing my knowledge of survival. Great, great app!!!!!

tons of info. This is basically an ebook with handy cross-referencing and videos, and is huge. I really though I'd get a few tips and maybe some illustrative photos but was surprised to see how much info there is in here. For instance, the section on poisonous mushrooms contains loads of pics showing each mushroom, a description of what they look like, what their danger is, where they grow, what tests you can perform to verify their identity, what symptoms to expect if eaten by mistake, and what treatment to take in that case.

Terrible. What a ripoff paid for all editions and can't open them after latest update. Developers don't care I guess. Zero stars if I could.

You NEED this app!!. I got this app a couple days ago, and have been going through it. I have Lofty's SAS survival book and this app is a very well written "Cliff's Notes" version of the book, as well as some stuff from his urban survival book. It is not watered down at all, all the important stuff in the book is in the app, with any fluff from the actual book removed. What is really nice about this app is that you have some really good reading material with you wherever you go, AND the videos are great too in reinforcng concepts. With all of this said, the time to actually READ and practice APPLYING some of the techniques in this app is NOW!! Do NOT wait for a disaster to happen, or be in a situation where you actually need to use the information in this app, to start reading it. By that time, your iPod/iPad might be lost, damaged, battery dead, etc. This is truly some basic information everyone should know.

Impressive. The amount of information here is easily worth the money. On top of that, it features a slick interface and well-organized content. Some of the stuff is extraneous and I wish there were more/better photos & illustrations in a lot of cases, however, those are minor quips on an otherwise comprehensive resource on outdoor and survival techniques. Thanks to the author and developers for such a great app!

Fantastic. This book is perfect for both beginners and seasoned outdoorsman. The content gives confidence and vital information to beginners, and sharpens the mind of the seasoned outdoorsman to that of an expert. The author is clear and organized. He often tells stories of outdoorsmen of the past to cement his reasoning. Furthermore, there are videos - which are extremely helpful. Ultimately, this app gives you a hook to hang your hat on and will encourage you to get out of your house and ino the wild. You will love this app.

APP Does Not Open. This app wont open at all. Needs to be updated.

I couldn't believe it.... ...that it was the WHOLE BOOK in app form!!! For those of you who don't know, Lofty Wiseman's SAS Survival Handbook is one of the all time greatest wilderness survival books. Ever. Just about anybody who knows anything about the subject puts this book on a must read list. It's in my personal top 2. The section on knots alone is worth the price of admission. The section on Health is one of the best quick guides to wilderness first/self aid out there. Shelter building, navigation, survival at sea, it's all here. Everything you need to know (and more) in an easy to understand writing style with clear illustrations. I can't say enough good things about this book. To have the whole book in my pocket is priceless. Attractive UI and easy navigation are a great bonus. And then they add additional videos by Wiseman himself?! Why are you still reading this? Buy the app! It could possibly be the most important app on your phone.

So far, so good (but needs some tweaks). This is a really good App. There are a few things that I think are critical that are lacking. It needs a SEARCH function, the checklists need to be more comprehensive and even possibly "tailored" to the environment one is traveling in (do I really need anti-malaria tablets for a trip into the desert?) and, I think, most importantly the QUIZ function needs to be expanded. I have found that there are only a dozen or so questions in each section which can all be mastered within a few minutes. The QUIZ function would be great, if expanded, because the average person doesn't find themselves in an actual survival situation very often. So, by continual "quizing", this information can be kept up to date and present in your mind. In the end, there is no replacement for actual experience, but in many survival situations you only get ONE chance and if you fail then you haven't survived (and that's the point).

Terrible!. App no longer works, especially after August 17, 2017 update. If you want your guide to survive, better fix this fast!

SAS Survival Guide. App no longer opens.

Had app for many years and doesn’t work most of the time.. Due to owning the book I download and paid for this app as well as the urban survival app so I would have a digital version to keep on my phone. I originally purchased the survival app a few years back and it worked fine for about a year. Unfortunately either due to an update or just bad coding the app continually crashes and will not load and takes me back to my phones home screen. Several times I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling both the survival and urban survival apps and neither work and are absolutely useless. BUY THE BOOK and don’t waste your time with these apps.

Former Special Forces. Thank you for an opportunity to provide feedback. I helped update the US Army Survival FM in the 80's and have completed several Survival Schools in addition to being an avid Sportsman. I fished and trapped as a youth and attended forestry school in my college years. The reason I tell you my background is that not only have I conducted joint missions with the SAS, but I believe I have an excellent understanding of Survival preparation. Quite simply I have had my family members download the SAS Survival app onto their smart phones and computers in case of an emergency and for quick reference. The resident properties and access are critical especially is one loses their connectivity. I do have a complaint though! After downloading your recent upgrade I can no longer use most of the functions that I am familiar with and consider critical for using this app. When attempting to drill down I am continuously returned to the IPhone 4 Main Screen. A fix or way to contact you for a corrected upgrade is much needed. Sincerely, Dave Wein

Yes, impressive.. Phenominal survival app. I've purchased other iPhone survival apps & was a bit skeptical at the price. All skepticism was gone once I opened the app and looked around. My only small quibble is some of the terminology/slang words could use translation some from UK to US as sometimes items mentioned are not obvious, or at least to me. One example was "hessian" under the desert section, without looking this up I had no idea what the book was referring to.

Love It. Frankly I cannot find any negatives at all with this app. It's very comprehensive, gorgeous IU, and the layout of the different categories are cleanly made up. I liked it so much that I bought the book also. For all around information you can't go wrong with this one.  P.S. Not sure what the problem is for the couple of posts that are unable to load or sync, but keep trying or maybe send email for support because this is one amazing and quality app. Good luck to you.

Not recommend. Purchased the full version of the app several years ago but haven’t looked at it for at least three years. Tried opening it and the screen instantly disappears. Finally deleted the app and tried to reinstall. Will not download. Clicking the Home Screen generates a message “page could not be found.” Total waste of money. No tech support.

Downloading and Activation. Initially I had a challenge with mobile downloading this application and activating it. Previous experience with other large memory applications reminded me, that for this application of such magnitude, downloading directly to my computer via Itunes was essential. I had to remove the application from my Iphone after attempting a mobile download. Next, I made sure the "Update" section of the "App Store" on my Iphone was totally clear of all updates of other current software applications. Once everything was cleared, I then downloaded the "SAS Survival Guide" application to my computer. Following that step I "synced" my Iphone wtih Itunes which automatically downloaded and synced the "SAS Survival Guide" to my Iphone. After that it worked perfectly. I do expect the author of this software to update this application when newer knowledge on any facet of this application occurs. After all, survival information only works when it is current. Protect your Iphone from environmental effects and always find a way to keep it's battery fully charged up. I hope this helps.

They stand behind their app. I bought this app years ago and they still support it. That says they are committed to what they publicize.

Completely hostile to survival. I'd bought this app a while ago and opened and read it a few times. Last week I was in a survival situation — stranded in a desert without cell service — and I opened this app. What do I see? "Please connect to internet for the first time use to see the content." Are you kidding me? (1) It was not my first time use, I had opened it before — I assume a recent update has caused the app to act like it was a new install, which is sloppiness on the developers' part. (2) I WAS STRANDED IN A DESERT AND NEEDED HELP, and could not connect to the Internet to get past this screen! That the developers would put unnecessary DRM over survival is a refutation of this app's stated purpose. Deplorable and deserving of nothing other than complete scorn in my opinion. I'm glad help came from other sources so I did not have to depend on this app.

This app is a disaster. This was meant to be a reference app attached to the book. At first, this was great. A simple database with information and some pictures. The app was clunky and hard to navigate, sure, but it worked. This new one shows these people have NO idea what they’re doing. Avoid this. Download Wikipedia to your computer instead or something.

Doesn’t Work. Complete crap. Doesn’t work. Can’t view my IAP. Just says “coming soon”. BS

Bad update?. Update: As other reviewers have done, I deleted the app, reinstalled, then restarted the device (shutting it down from settings). After restarting the device, the app now works! Guess it’s a glitch with last update. Still a good app, but have to dock a star for the extra steps required to make it work. I rarely write reviews, but the last update was so disappointing. This used to be a great app. Very informative. Unfortunately, since the last update, it will not open the original SAS app. Instead it takes you to a home screen to view (and purchase) other SAS titles. Even after navigating to the library which shows the apps you own, the app refuses to open. PLEASE FIX! Love this app when it actually worked, will update review if I can use again.

Garbage. Take the quiz and it gives you different answers (wrong ones) each time! Also gives different answers to other questions Want my money back

Stopped working years ago. App hasn’t worked in years. It crashes on the developer splash screen. Only seems to work on iPhones from 8-10 years ago. Doesn’t work on iPhones X and 11.

Fantastic reference. Update from old 5 star rating: from unsurpassed to unusable. What did you do? Fire everyone on your “updating “ staff and return the app we paid for. Lofty, clean house. SAS Survival Guide User since 1986. I have almost every detail of Lofty Wiseman's book committed to memory but I still have a weakness for procuring every possible iteration extant. From my huge soft cover "coffee table" version to numerous Collins Gem Pocket versions to the rare and sought after "flick book" meant to be an ultra compact and weather resistant variant for professional survival kits. It only made sense that I would buy the iPhone app as soon as I was made aware of it's existence. What I wasn't expecting were the excellent photos and video content! What a real treat! Well worth the money and for those of you who leave the house every day with naught but an iPhone, keys and wallet this could be a real life saver one day. I would suggest that you study every bit of it well in advance and even take time to practice some of the techniques contained in this well written guide. This is a top shelf app in every way and I wholeheartedly recommend it!

Priceless. This survival application, along with Wiki How Survival Guide, I could not possibly think or ask for certain scenarios, since they are all pretty much complete with all the survival knowledge you hopefully won't need to use. But on those rare ocassions when something does help where you need survival training and instinct, then I cannot possibly think of something better or different features. It's always good to be safe and that is exactly what you'll learn from this application. Although I do suggest picking up Wiki Howto Survival app, then you'll definetly be much better prepared for any worst case scenario is heading your way. Definetly purchase this app since it's always better to be safe than sorry.

No longer access any content.. The last update and this one cut off tithe ability to actually access any of the content.

Take the money and run.. Shame on the developers for grabbing the money and abandoning the platform. Glad I still have the excellent book. I guess that’s the risk you take when you “buy” any kind of digital media these days.

Cool and useful. If you don't learn anything from this you are better than the SAS! NOT this is great and gives pointers and tricks you can use in the bush - I know I have - plus if you get a solar charger he is with you even in the back o burke - if you go of road or just to exotic places buy it - you will not be disappointed

Great app. This app is a very powerful tool that is jam packed with information. I highly recommend it to hunters, bushwalkers or any other outgoing people. It has a great selection of videos to give you a more interactive feel followed by pictures and a massive archive of helpful reading material. I have had a lot of fun with this app and it was well worth the money.

Great. This is a great app especially with update with the bookmark plus the quiz which keeps your mind sharp with the information and makes you want recap. More instructional videos would be nice and more info on edible trees in the southern hemisphere (especially in Australia) would also be nice.

Brilliant. But can I suggest add-on modules for other countries so the edible/medicinal plants are the correct ones for that country. These could be purchasable to off-set how much work that would add or create. I'd definitely pay to have Australian bush food and medicines as an add-on.

Great. Fantastic. Works great and plenty of useful info would love to see more Australian indigenous flora and fauna content added but otherwise awesome.

Loved it. I it is a good program on how to survive. It has a sun compass and a survival check list. This app also skills like finding orientation without a compass. Best app I've got for survival purposes!

SAS survival app review. Excellently written, practical, and clearly arranged - just like the original book.

Survival guide a must. Have had this app since it first came out I also have had the books for years definitely have used a lot of information in these, no bull no ego, just good practical info, just be aware it’s an overview not for a specific area so plants climate varies, I live in Western Australia very very hot during the day going to very cold in remote areas.

Worth it. A good read and lots if information

Once great App. Please note that all of the high rated reviews for this app were from earlier versions many years ago. This was when the app worked offline without the need for a ‘Facebook’ login! It was once a fantastic self contained reference for survival information. No doubt that information is still there, but it is useless to you if you need WiFi or mobile service to access it. So often the case that so called ‘improvements’ destroy what was once perfect.

Love it!. What a great app. So much info and detail put into it. Would be even better if Bear Grylls was reading it to you ;)

Incredibly Useful.. This is a great app. I own the book, but I wanted to have this with me on the go in a comfortable fashion. S A S Survival guide must have. This app in my opinion is an absolute must have for any would be adventurer, hiker, camper, traveller etc. It is a compilation of knowledge that you will not find anywhere else (unless you buy the book) which I recomend,that could be differance between life and death in dire circumstances for you and everyone around you . I have found one bug, the sun compass contained within the app reads back to front prior to 12 pm after which it reads correctly please note this is only applicable to the southern hemisphere as I have not tested the northern. I have reported this and hopefully it will be ammended soon

Rip Off. Bought this App a while ago, thought it was a good idea and it worked fine UNTILL Update now you are expected to find an internet connecton out in the middle of nowhere and log in with your FaceBook,Twitter or whatever before you can use it or veiw video tutorials... feeling ripped of want the old version I paid for back.

Indispensable.. This is a comprehensive and practical app. I think that users should consider a solar charger and a weather-proof case if one is planning to use it in the wild, but that goes for any survival, navigation or emergency app. Great app!

This apps value is worth more than it's price. One star less because I would need iPhone power to last longest when I would need it the most(When preparation is not possible). SAS Manual. Absolutely fantastic. In fact, it might just be the best survival app out there.

Horrible. What the hell man why did you make it so you need wifi connection to read it. I'll tell you something for nothing. If the end of day came and you needed a source of survival you couldn't use this app. Zombie doom? Ww3 or any need of source of survival there won't be no wifi man. Fix this or give me my money back.

Possibly my favorite app. This app rocks! Well organized full of useful, interesting and possibly life saving information. Thank you developers for adding content for free. Had not had any glitches or crashes with this one. It's a keeper and a great reference guide.

Best survival app ever!. I have long looked for an app that had even a quarter of the information that this app has and the easy navigation makes it very easy find specific items.

Great survival app... But!. This is a great app to learn about survival tactics and gain the skills necessary to survive in different terrain. However, there is no help function for the app, and I can't seem to figure how to bookmark a page!!!

Awesome. Great app, could use more knots and a way to generate enough electricity to charge your iPod in an emergency, in the wilderness. because without that the app is kind of useless.

fantastic. this is what makes an ipod/iphone a complete tool. I have the book too and would strongly advise anyone to buy it (what if you can't power your iphone?) but as a learning tool / short time survival guide, the app is invaluable. let's put it this way - $7 may save your life one day. I'd rate it 10 out of 10 but there's only a five-star system here.

Very Useful, Fair Price. I found serious value in this app. It doesn't crash, it doesn't take forever to load, and it doesn't require you to be connected to the internet for things like video and pictures. Everything is downloaded and stored on your iOS device. I would, however, really like to see more video tutorials and instruction by the author.

Top 10 app in store!. This app is great! It is very well organized, easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. The information is for the most parts complete, yet inspires you and leaves room for you to apply the information in your own environment in creative ways. Worth every penny!

It opens. Not seeing any reviews for the latest version I took a chance and upgraded, the new version works fine on an iPod Touch 5.

Review. Although I've yet to use most of the info in the app, it is a real treasure trove of information. I also purchased the softcover version back in 1990 and I used to love constructing the animal traps for practice. Worth the money.

Bugged on my 4s. They told me they were going to fix it but is still bugged. Many features do not work. The content seams all there tough. Good app otherwise.

Sas. app only allows me to enter audio or options to buy urban survival book none of which i'm interested in. cannot go into the actual app i paid for any more. when i first got it i was impressed. now not so much

Wow. This is not the first survival app that I've purchased but it will be the last. This app has everything needed and then some. I almost pray to get lost or have to skin and gut a chicken or small cat uummmm good eating

Very valuable. This is an amazing resource with much wisdom however unfortunately the app keeps kicking me out and there is some problems with the functioning of the app but the material is all there.

I dig it!. I have the book for home and this app for the road or back woods. I'm an avid reader and re-reader. What I like most about the SAS is that they emphasize the importance of using your wits. That's the most important tool you could utilize. What I would like to see more of is the videos. They explain more visually than reading it could ever fully explain. All together a very useful tool.

Potentialy life saving. This app is well written, easy to use and realistic. It tells you things that you could actually use to survive, but more importantly, teaches you how to think like a surviover. If you do anything in the outdoors you need this app. If you travel you need this app. You may think that you don't need survival skills but I bet the people involved in recent disasters such as Sandy, Katrina, the tsunami, etc didn't think they needed them either. Awesome!!!!. It not only has things like how to make fire and all the big important stuff that people latch on to as important to survival, but it has the small essential things that are as important as having fire such as having the ability to make rope. This really is worth every cent!

Solid. It's a really good guide. I've never considered myself an outdoorsman, but I do consider myself a man of the outdoors so these guides help me with knots, techniques, and tips. Things I'd otherwise never know because I've been raised in the city. But I frequently go on desert hikes, and get lost, but my readings have helped me. Things I never think about all of a sudden come out of my mind and I remember them from this book. I highly recommend it. The survival stories are awesome too!

Excellent Rapture material. This book will be an essential when the rapture occurs... Oh wait, that happened a couple weeks ago. But nevertheless, this is an awesome eBook and I have the paperback version as well. Not only for survival, but a great reference if you are only going camping. I was in Boy Scouts many years ago, but the simplest things I learned, such as tying good knots has long been forgotten. My advice: keep this book handy (and keep your iPhone charged for the digital version) and you WILL use it before you know it. Even if only setting up a shelter for the kids to play in/sleep in in the back yard. Excellent book and more detail than you will ever need! DD

Best App in the App Store. This is by far the best and most practical app in the app store! I have the book, but this app makes it so more accessible. I know some will say,"what good will it do if you are lost in the woods or the grid goes down?", that is why I bought a solar recharger that recharges iPhones.

Great App. I've seen the book on the shelf at my local bookstore and passed it by many times. My wife gifted me the app ( I'm into hiking and camping) and I read it as a courtesy. I loved it so much I went out and bought a hard copy too, it lives in my “go bag” next to my waterproof Bible. Great app, it has alot of information even for experienced outdoor nuts.

Great app!. Even though you probably won't ever need this it is great to read for the what-ifs. Keeps you busy on flights and waiting for random stuff. Even fun to make some of the traps and stuff just for kicks.

S.A.R. Trained. Great APP! You can create your own checklists for camping and survival and reference Lofty's as well. I am also SERE trained and this is a great photo guide for plants and wild fruit that I may have forgotten about. The videos for building fires and lean-to shelters are awesome! Definitely worth every penny!

I'm in love. I'm a big time camper/ survival enthusiast and this app sums up everything you need to know for survival skills. However, I don't know how useful a survival guide will be on an iPhone if your trapped in a jungle or an island, with no charger. Other than that I take the time to memorize everything to prepare myself for different circumstances. Amazing app

Satisfactory. This app offers comprehensive assessment of enough scenarios that it seems omniscient. Its inclusion of video in this format makes it easier to absorb info. Although, the ability to view these grainy videos (and photographs) in landscape mode should have been a no-brainer. In addition, I can understand the need for marketing, but I do not appreciate apps that market purchased items. Apps can be programmed to verify the existence of other apps on a device. All in all, I recommend this product as a good accompaniment to the book. BTW, In-App Purchases add value inside the app. Purchase is made inside the app for this to happen. In other words, additional features for the app are sold inside the app. Links to another app to buy a third app do not qualify as an In-App Purchase. The links are just part of an advertisement. And I did not see notice of In-App Advertisement (propaganda).

Better than the book.. I've read the book and this app is a great compliment if not better. The videos are informative and easy to watch and the pictures are great. The quizzes are a nice tool to help keep you sharp. Worth the price.

This is a Great find!. I'm buying a solar charger backpack and a hand held generator and I'm headed off to the woods. I was editing for the day this type of technology was available. The nice part is all the info seems to be dl'ed to the phone so no need for a wifi signal. Now you need to allow attached guides like trees if the northern hemisphere, plants if earth, animals around us, etc... I would be free to wander :) great job

Great app. Used app several times while camping. We had no cell service and liked being able to still use the app. The designers of the app put a lot of thought into what would be needed in a survival situation.

Survival at it's best. This application is without a doubt one of the best survival apps on the apps store. I have read many survival guides as well as the army survival guide for the iPhone. This app is way better due to the fact that you get illustrations along with videos for precise survival instructions.

There's not a lot of apps on here that are worth 4.99 but this one is by far worth the money! US Army Scout Retired. This is great tool and one that is at the tip of your finger tips. I have used many of these techniques in the field and purchased this for my son to educate him in the art of survival. No one ever believes something can not happen to them and it might but I believe in being ready. This is a great educational tool.

Best Survival Book in the World. This is THE survival book. These are field tested techniques that really work. The way in which he has organized his information is very intelligent. Also the real world stories and examples he uses are great. I carry the miniature version in my car. BTW, You should alwsys keep emergency preparedness items in your car.

Much more than I expected.. I've had this app for a month now and I have hardly scratched the surface. Absolutely excellent. Great interface and a plentitide of information. It's not something you can read straight out. It's so packed full of information you'd be lucky if you remembered even a quarter of it. I've taken it a little bit at a time. Absolutely great. It even includes storys describing certain situations explaining what went wrong and what they should have done. There's only one thing I would do different. I've since learned I should have a copy of this on paper!! Just in case my battery runs out in the wilderness. Keep up the good work.

Exceeding the rest. I've spent almost a decade in military in elite units, even with all the training the military gives this app not only refreshes skills but gives insight into things not taught. Doesn't matter if your a beginner in the survival scene or an expert, this app has what is needed. Well worth 10 times the price.

Even better than the book! Want better quizzes though. I recently bought the SAS book and downloaded the app once I saw the ad for it on the cover. I loved the app instantly and some of the best features are: Includes the entire original book, Search bar to find any terms in the entire book, Quizzes to test your survival knowledge. *One thing I would like to see: Better quizzes with more, and more relevant questions, and also if the questions and answers were randomized each time so you can't just memorize the answers, so that you are tested every time you take the quizzes.

Better practice. Well organized and accessible App. Lots of little extras in the full version, well worth the price. Information is a bit militaristic, but all still pertinent and certainly useful. This App won't save your life, but with practice and a little study in your spare time it could very well give you the confidence to get yourself out of a life threatening jam...and at the very least impress your friends around the camp fire.

This app is great. I bought this book 25 years ago when I was a kid. It was my bible growing up. Later it served me very well as a Marine working all over the world. With this app now you have the book as a resource I'm your pocket with actual videos to enhance your understanding of the subject. I totally recommend if you spend any amount of time in the wild.

411. This app is perfect for anyone looking for basic survival knowledge. Nothing over complicated just the right info in a easy to read format. Me and my kids have a blast with it when we go out and have are Bear Grillis days!

Needs my brilliant ideas , side by side picture company. Needs quizzes presenting real side by side pictures of cloud formations, side by sides and more detailed pictures of edible vs poisonous vs medicinal plants and mushrooms, photos and quizzes distinguishing and identifying trees, animal tracks and scat, edible insect pictures, needs sailing instructions, photos of animal anatomy and parts, info on reading topographic and navigation maps, unit conversion, common police codes, multilingual phonetic guide for requesting emergency assistance, instructions for use of aircraft radio, etc.

Outdoorsman. Good product. Allows me to study survival on the go or just cruise through it like informative casual reading. Easy movement between categories compared to the actual book. particularly helpful with edible plants and creating snares and traps. I'm happy with it.

Same as the book but improved. I haven't finish to read yet, but so far It has the same content as the book, also this app contains videos and the images / pictures are a lot better! The content is excellent , highly recommended.
