Great for up to date info.. I have used the Flight Aware app for several years. I find it to be accurate (sometimes more so than the individual airlines) and informative. I can check the local airport(s) for delays which are not always apparent in other ways. For example a clear sunny day but flights being held at the point of origin due to weather (thunderstorms etc.). I know having experienced it my self that when you are sitting in the airport at the departure gate and the plane is there but you are told it is delayed due to weather and it is sunny where you are and at your destination you get frustrated. Flight Aware gives the information about the airport’s delays due to weather and I can check both the departure airport and destination with the weather overlay showing me what is happening. I also like being able to find my plane “Where is my plane now?”. I volunteer for a local non profit as a ‘taxi team driver’. Being able to track the flights I am meeting is a big help.

The BEST Flight Tracking Application. Whether you’re a traveler, flight crew member, aviation industry worker or just an aviation enthusiast, FlightAware in my opinion is the BEST flight tracking application. It gives you up to the minute status on any airport or flight. It can show you automated flight location on a map that you can zoom to amazing levels. You can set up push notifications on flights to your phone. It’s easy to use. And best of all, it’s free (with ads) but is available ad free with subscription. That’s fair.

Update: Took my money!. After making a complaint to Apple I received a reply from the developer saying they were aware of the problem and working on a fix. The temporary solution is to register for a free account. Did, and now it works as expected. So why don't they just say so in the beginning?? Just a few words on the purchase page would prevent a lot of bad will. So … as said before it's a good app but I'm still not going to give it 5 stars simply because somebody out there doesn't know how to run the business end. Original review: App worked great, tracked my flight from gate to gate. So figured I'd spring for 6 buck to ditch the ads. Took my money then reported 'unexpected error'. So they got my 6 bucks anyway and I still get the ads! Really too bad because it's a good app but this nonsense leaves a bad taste.

Can’t trust ETAs. This app gets a lot right. The ability to set alerts for flights you’re meeting is a great concept that is well-implemented in parts. However, that feature set breaks down at the most critical stage— the arrival time. I have received alerts that a flight is in the air after a delay. In my Notifications Center, a revised ETA is provided. However, in the app, that new arrival info is not updated. Why isn’t it synced across both locations so that I can rely only on the app? Other times no revised notifications are received. I’ll be at the airport at the appointed time. Just as I’m expecting the app to show “Landed,” it updates and pushes the arrival time out by 30 minutes or more. If a tracker app is that unreliable, it becomes worthless. Update: Based on developer's response re update to app, I'm happy to try the latest release. Thanks for the patch.

Out of sync with the web site. I used to trust the FlightAware app but my wife and I were just trying to follow the status of our daughter’s departure flight to Newark and got two different stories from FlightAware. I was using the app that still showed the flight as on time and my wife was using the FlightAware website that showed a 3-hour departure delay. What’s up with that? I checked the app again and in the flight details block it showed the local departure and the arrival in Newark as on time but there was a notation at the top of that same screen that showed the flight as delayed (with no other information as to how long). The web site showed an actual delayed departure time. I think the app and web site should be in sync and I think that any notation of a flight delay should give the app user the same information as the web site user.

Loved the app. We have a Cessna 206 with updated avionics and have had absolutely no problem with flight aware. Loved the app because our parents and family can track us as we fly...but, the last few weeks we are not able to be seen in live flight. I can tap on every plane and we aren’t showing up on the map. Can’t find our tail number. But, after we land our flight shows up and we can see where we’ve been. It’s been my most favorite app to use while my husband and son fly, but now it’s frustrating. Maybe it’ll get fixed soon.

Problem with app. I’ve been using FlightAware for over eight years with excellent results until today. Today, when I try to load the FlightAware app to look for a plane, it flashes on and then instantly shuts off. I’ve reloaded the app, and it still does the same thing. i’ve turned off my iPhone and turned it back on and tried again, and still it flashes on and immediately turns off. I hope you receive this in the near term and fix whatever might be wrong. RAM

Great app! Very informative!. More information than I imagined would be publicly available about the various aircraft flying over us (or anywhere) on a constant basis. Only improvement I see so far would be easier access to get back to the "Home screen view", which for me would mean showing the big map of any aircraft and airports in my general current vicinity / current location. Some pages had no way to go back, but you were forced to choose from a list of, for example, of current aircraft in that area. Other than that, very pleased with the app and look forward to any updates and improvements.

Always 2 min ahead of the “public” AA flight info. Invaluable. When I need to fly a route with multiple choices, I start with FlightAware’s history. Which ones seem to get delayed. Which ones seem to go? My favorite practical “amazing story” happened inflight. Slowed down with no on board update…. Dr is paged - it’s a medical emergency. Open flightaware to learn IN FLIGHT that I’m diverted from DFW to MCI with looooong delay to new departure. I hit the AA app, see a flight leaving about 30 min after flightaware’s diverted arrival time. Book a one-way Relax About 10 min pass, pilot announces that we’re diverted to MCI and see gate agents for updates. Guns it to MCI. Land as per FlightAware, collect my overhead bags on arrival and walk 1 gate over, where boarding has commenced. On time departure and arrival in DFW where my smiling wife and kiddos collect me curbside. I hope if anyone reads this, they’ll experience at least one similar day - getting lucky on “one of those days” and welcomed wherever they’re off to with smiles of family and friends. Road Warriors: please avail yourself of this amazing resource. 5 stars not enough for those rare, welcoming smiles…

All my flights do not show up. Me and my pilot friends have noticed all of our flights do not show up. In the past several months, about half our flights show on FlightAware. And when they do, they are not accurate. Today I (N1224U) flew from 54T to T00 and back. I called SouthEast Texas Regional (Beaumont) to verify my transponder and ADSB was working, they verified that it was. After I landed at 54T, I checked FlightAware, part of the return flight showed up. Is there something we are not doing to see the history of our flights, you guys have spoiled us by showing all our flights, and now only partial. Thanks for a great product! Selby Goss

No longer works for me. I drive for uber and Lyft and rely on this app heavily to be able to predict surges at the airport based on flight arrival times. Without this app or something similar I would not be able to make as much money as I do and out of all the different flight tracking apps, this one is by far my favorite because of how easy it is to use and track incoming flights. Unfortunately, its best feature seems to have stopped working for me, my boyfriend, and other drivers I’ve talked to. Flight arrivals no longer show up in chronological order, rather they seem to be listed according to their origination point departure times. This renders the app completely useless for us and hopefully it can be fixed soon as we have yet to find any other apps that are as intuitive and easy to use as flight aware!

Never without.... I fly a small single engine airplane in the western United States where I am often over deserts or mountains and far from a cell tower. When she can’t ride along, my wife can track my location within minutes from the time I take off until I safely land. This helps her know where I am and she worries a lot less while I’m up in the sky. When we travel together, our kids and friends can follow our flights. Thank you Flight Aware for making it possible for us to stay in touch when we’re apart!

Warning-don’t upgrade!!!. In the latest upgrade, I was sadly surprised to find a awful new format!!! The map in the background makes it impossible to see the planes. Additionally, the gray color of the planes on the map is so hard to see! How this whole new look is an “upgrade” is stunning!! It is so AWFUL!!! There’s no way to adjust the map to revert to a subtle look in order to see the planes and there’s no way to change the color of the planes....I wish developers would quit messing with something that works just great and ruin it with an “upgrade” UPDATE: I found the classic format-so please excuse the review. I’m still not excited about the new functionality as the font and presentation of flight details is not as easy on the eye as the old format.

Spot on flight information!. I’ve been using FlightAware for years and have found the app to be very useful and very accurate for tracking incoming and out going flights for my family. It’s so easy to use with the app on my phone to find a flight and track the flight from beginning to end. I can’t imagine trying to keep up with family members without this app. The airlines have completely dropped the ball on customer service, so getting the information out of them is like pulling teeth, but with FlightAware, you have the most up-to-date information in seconds.

Best flight tracker. Have tried many trackers but now only use Flight Aware. Information put out by the airlines is not always accurate, but Flight Aware app is ALWAYS accurate. For example, sent a young nephew home overseas and his flight was so delayed that evening that the airline listed it as “cancelled” even though it did take off. His panicked Mom saw the flight as cancelled even though we put him on the plane. With Flight Aware, we were able to show her that the plane was indeed airborne and what time it was due to land ... to the great relief of waiting family members! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

won’t set up notifications. UPDATE: I waited a bit and before I deleted the app, I tried it one more time - the issue seems to have been fixed and the app is working as advertised. I actually got responses from the developer regarding this, which I found impressive and surprising. Changing my rating from one star to 5. PREVIOUS REVIEW: app worked fine for awhile, but suddenly, it will not allow me to set up notifications for flights. When I try to set a notification for a flight, I get a message that “email to friends for single day only” (or something similar). I don’t have emails to friends set up in my settings, so the error message makes no sense to me. I have settings to just email to me to track flights I want to meet. I tried turning off even emails to me to reset to “send to my device”, but I still get the error message. Flight Tracker is a much more reliable app, and it has become my go-to app for tracking flights I need to meet. This one just doesn’t work anymore.

The most amazing app!. if your bored and wonder when you look at the sky “where is that plane going?” you can see where it coming from and where its going, what altitude what speed! Its super fun when your in the mountains stargazing because there are so many high altitude flights going over the mountains. I also figured out, when you are flying or picking someone up who is flying, you can track the flight and it will also give you flight alerts. Super awesome! No annoying ads and no pressure to upgrade or buy some.

Hard to see. Used to be such a great App. Last revision I noticed that it was hard to see the flight tracks. They were like light green on a yellow background. I asked about it and was told to change my iPad settings from light to dark. Okay, tried that and you can now see the track, but it messes up every other App I have and makes it look in the dark mode. Can’t they just go back and change the track color to something you can see with the normal iPad settings?

It’s Always Better to Know. I use this App to become familiar with the flights I will be on, before I get on them. My flight numbers stay consistent, meaning that day to day, the flight numbers between cities are the same, so this allows me to see the usual departure and arrival gates, and with this information choose an adequate layover time. It also allows me to set alerts for my particular flight, and so I know of any delays long before it is ever announced or displayed at the airport. A perfect app to reduce any stressful worries about air travel.

Generally very good. Have used FlightAware on my laptop for many years and rate that very highly. The mobile app is close but lacks some of the features of the internet version. I don’t see the scheduled and actual times that’s on the right side on the internet nor do I see the flight line. Perhaps it’s because of space considerations. One problem I have with the app is that it says many times that I have no internet connection “retry” which never works. I have to manually close the app and reopen it. Haven’t had this problem with other apps. Have lots of memory and space. Update - the retry problem has been fixed

If you are a frequent flyer, you need this app.. This a great app. You know immediately if your flight or a flight for a friend, loved one , (or just some one needing picked up at an airport ,) if there may be any delays , disruptions or cancellations before airline provides the information, (to those requesting updates on a particular flight ) in most situations . All you need is the flight number and the rest of the work and valuable information is provided through the app. This is genius ! Great for those that are really into aviation and technical information . This app has it all when it comes to flight / aviation information . A must have for frequent travelers . Extremely helpful !

So helpful…. …whether I am traveling, or awaiting for others within my circle of family/friends, this is a very easy-to-use, informative, go-to app for air travel. Great graphics, ability to enter any carrier’s flight number, flight details such as history of a flight number for the past few days or so, and the ability to find ‘where is my plane?’ if the aircraft is originating from a different location, makes this application not only practical, but also one that keeps your interest as you are at home, or at the airport.

Stop the flashing motion ads. This WAS a great app until FlightAware added the ads with motion and flashing. If I want to see flashing lights and scrolling marquees I can go to Vegas. Plenty of that there. I understand that ads are a present day reality but the ads with distracting flashing motion are equivalent to the customer getting flicked in the nose repeatedly. Stop it. I know you want customers to pay to have ads removed. Flicking them again and again in the nose until they finally have enough and give in to pay to have ads removed won’t work on most. Most will just delete the app and find another app. Please return the app to some civility. Stationary ads are fine and don’t annoy the customers as well as get the message across in a more effective manner. Thx, jrf

Very decent App!. My brother is a charter pilot and recommended this app. With it we've been able to track flights and actual planes, from origin to destination (and obtain quite a bit more information about delays than airlines provide- i.e. It can tell us when a delayed plane has yet to take off from a previous leg of a multi city route, or is running early). It maps flight progress of all flights- too bad we can't access it more easily from the planes themselves, but it keeps everyone on the ground well informed. As for looking up flights by tail number--that's a great way to find the whereabouts of the private pilot in the family, it's not just for airline passengers, it also tracks private planes.

The Go To App. I use the app for airline flights. Tracking the progress of the flight allows me to be ready to pick up a traveling passenger upon their arrival. Also knowing where the inbound aircraft is can impact the connecting flight. Being able to text the location of a connecting gate to an inbound pax also is a way to measure the chance of making a connecting flight or not. The airlines are not very helpful in providing that information. The flight following with the weather displayed also impacts arrival times. I also enjoy seeing the filed flight plan with the route, altitude, etc. In addition to the commercial flights I can review my own general aviation flights and that of my friends. Thanks Flight Aware for doing such a good job.

Very Impressive. Everything is near real-time. I have been alerted to departing gate changes BEFORE announcements or the airline app. I am able to judge when to leave home to meet arrivals at the airport before and sometimes more accurately than the airline app. Once, I was able to watch my wife’s arriving plane diverted upon approach well before announcements or notifications. It’s like you know what the captain knows when the captain knows it. Keep in mind, this is all about the aircraft/flight so use it in conjunction with the business of the airline app.

The good and the not so good. We us it mostly for our family members to track our personal plane. It’s a good app that needs more work. It sometimes works when we file Flight following, maybe we are doing something wrong? It always works when we file an IFR flight plan. The problem we have with the app is when we cancel IFR in the air if we do a visual approach the app stops tracking the flight and my loved ones wonder it we crashed cause it stops the tracking short of the landing. The other thing is that we can’t sneak away without the family being notified of when we are leaving and where we going. The great thing is my FBO uses the app to know when we’re are arriving at the airport so they can have my vehicle out on the tarmac running and waiting for us with the air or the heat running....love that use of your app! Keep up the great work.

Fabulous Site. I use several aviation sites in my day to day activities. Most are terrific, but FlightAware is consistently OUTSTANDING. The site always has data in as close to real time as you can get. The site almost never “goes down” and when it does - it’s back up usually within a minute or two. The site is simple to use and navigate. The desktop version and mobile version are equally top notch. The mobile sites of other apps generally leave much to be desired from their desktop versions. Not so with FlightAware. No loss of product quality here at all. Do yourself a favor and spend a few minutes checking out FlightAware and see if it meets your needs. I hope you find it as amazing as I do.

Need to separate direct flights and layover flights. I had written another review about how this was such a go to app for me once upon a time. But the last two years it’s been harder to find flights. It has become less user friendly for everyday users. One of the main reasons for this is that you don’t separate direct flights from flights with layovers. It shouldn’t take three separate searches to locate a flight. Kept searching and the direct flights are buried in between so they are easy to miss while you’re scrolling. And frankly the way the layover flights are done is confusing. I kept sending the first leg of the flight info out to people not realizing that it wasn’t bringing up the full information of both flights when I hit it. This is because in the list of flights that comes up, you don’t specify airports in the first leg. So I was only sending that part out. The layover bar is lost a bit and I thought it was just stating that there is a layover. Not that it’s separating the two legs. I’m not tech weak by any means. And I used to use this app on a very regular basis. But haven’t been happy with it for a while. Needs to go back to the early versions and get user friendly again.

My favorite travel app!. I have used FlightAware for many years, both on my laptop and iPhone. It has become an absolute necessity when I or family members travel! I religiously monitor FlightAware starting several days before travel through the end of my trip, and has NEVER failed me! I am always prepared for whatever flight challenges come my way! I have tried a number of other Apps, and nothing comes close to FlightAware’s accuracy and consistency!!

All good except for the update nag screen. Great app overall, but it has one incredibly annoying, erm, “feature” that I need to vent about. The app checks the App Store for updates at startup and, if an update is found, displays a nag screen about the update that you have to click through before proceeding, disrupting your workflow. For myself and the other 99% of iOS users who have Automatic Updates turned on for the very fact that we don’t want to—and shouldn’t have to, quite frankly—ever consciously think about updating apps and would rather have the OS do it for us automatically in the background at night, this manual update reminder is unnecessary and intrusive. None of my other apps are this OCD about updates. Relax already, the OS will update your app for us eventually. And, by the way, since the app apparently uses the App Store’s staged rollout option, whereby updates can take up to 7 days to reach 100% of users—to wit, I was only just today (Feb 22) auto updated to the Feb 15 release—displaying the update nag notice the instant the app is released makes this practice even more logic defying. If you insist on keeping this update screen, fine, but at least wait 8 days after the update is released to the App Store so that it is only seen by those who don’t use auto app updates.

Saved flights are pointless. When saving a flight, and going through the process of selecting a flight for a particular date, when looking at the information for the upcoming flight it makes you re-enter all the same information even though the flight has been “saved” for notifications in the future. Additionally, somehow flighty which used the FlightAware “firehose” data can show you in their free version the landing and takeoff of flights accurately down to the runway whereas the FlightAware tracking seemingly ends the second the plane is not in the air. The UI is barebones and acceptable and not exactly intuitive, clean or well-organized. Again if they could mirror some of the UI of the Flighty app that would be great. Also they should make it clearly apparent the age of the plane being flown as well as the model once again a great feature of flighty. This sounds like an advert for flighty, but I find that the raw data provided by FlightAware is still the best and all FlightAware features are free for general users, so I would love to see these changes! Thanks!

An incredibly informative and easy to use App. I’m a rideshare driver and utilize this app to track incoming flights and thus am able to easily find opportunities for fares utilizing the arrivals listing feature which is always reliable and accurate. I’m also an avid aviation enthusiast so I use the app to track flights while utilizing a separate air traffic radio app. The app not only gives basic info on flight departure/arrival times but also fully featured with weather conditions delay information as well as the ability to track flight location flight path altitude and speed. It’s fantastic. Love it thank you.

So much better than relying on the airline. If a third party such as Flight Aware is able to obtain accurate and up to date information on flights, why can’t the actual airline operating the aircraft do the same? I guess they are only in the transportation business and not in the business of supplying information to their customers. When I sent my high school daughter to France as an unaccompanied minor on an exchange program, I was up all night tracking her flight to Heathrow and her next leg to Nice, France. I knew when the plane was landing, I knew that it was on-time and that the airline had plenty of time to change terminals and it gave a nervous mother peace of mind. Thank you Flight Aware for providing a most valuable service to the public.

Great application for tracking flights. This app is great for tracking flights and the history of that flight throughout the day. This will help determine if your flight is or will be delayed. A flight delay early in the day almost always has a ripple effect on flights that plane makes later in the day. If the delay is long enough, you might be able to work with your airline to find other accommodations. This app has a simple intuitive user interface.

Slooooooow...what’s going on??. Update: The app is still awesome but the display is experiencing major latency with refreshing the map. I ran a speed test and I’m currently getting 300 down/30 up (mbps) so it’s not speed and a forced reset of iPad didn’t fix the issue either. Updating to the new release of FlightAware was a no go as well. There’s always the website of course, but this is rather convenient. I’ll try again later and will update if my results are different. I've used the desktop FlightAware probably since its inception and the iOS version for many years. At times the app was ignored and under-developed, but the recent binge of updates have made it cutting edge once again. Every one of the flight tracking apps offers something just a bit different so YMMV according to your needs...FlightAware offers something for both the frequent traveler and the aviation aficionado so I highly recommend it. It also offers a very cheap option to remove annoying ads which I always take advantage of when offered.

FlightAware is top notch. I guess I’ll just go back and forth between my friends and family and say this is a great time to see planes. I can look at the schedule and get a little better idea of what it is going on with the flight. Okay I don’t know how they do it but it is great and wonderful for everyone and everyone else. Sounds good to see you tomorrow and we’ll probably get together sometime soon and then we comes up to the flight time. Okay I don’t know what to say more but I really think it’s cool that I can see them fly over.

Best flight tracker. I use flight aware a lot. Every time I see or hear an airplane, I look on flight aware to see what it is and what airline the airplane it is. I use it on every device I have, which is about 5 different ones. I have even travelled and seen my own flight on this flight tracker. This super accurate tracker is awesome for if you are a pilot too because you can see where the next airplane that you will fly is. It also is useful when your friend/family is in an airplane, you can see where they are. I just love this flight tracker and I would suggest it to anyone.

ETAs no longer reliable. Used to be one of my favorite apps but ETA predictions have become highly unreliable. I’ve missed too many airport pickups to trust it and now use the individual airline websites. The app will frequently report a flight is on time for an arrival in 30 min for example when a quick glance at the map shows the plane is an hour farther away or minutes from landing. I’ve seen the app jump from on time to 40 min delay (and vice versa) while sitting at the cell phone lot at the arrival time. These changes were not caused by holds or spacing delays. The airline website had been reporting the delay for two hours. Following day flights are often shown with times that are 30-40 minutes earlier than the airline website. FA is rarely correct about the early arrival.

Good info, but display issues make barely usable. This flight app has a wealth of information. Almost too much, and although recent changes have made it easier to navigate it still is complex. The real problem with the app is that so many screens are poorly formatted for the text they contain. Text overflows the space allotted to it. Sometimes this just looks ugly, but often text overflows and covers buttons. Then the buttons don’t work and the app becomes unusable. The only way to get it working again is to force-quit and start over. This has been happening through many generations of the app and they just don’t seem to get a handle on the problem. I guess there’s a problem with all that complexity.

Notifications disappear when I tap on them. First of all, this app is fantastic for up-to-the-minute details about flights. My only quibble: a banner notification will appear about a flight change, but if you tap on it rather than just reading it, it disappears forever. I imagine the intent is that tapping on it takes you to a page describing the change, but 10 times out of 10, the page it takes you to shows NO changes, and it is impossible to find out what the notification was actually about. Please fix this by making the banner notification continue to be accessible even if it is tapped on. Thanks.

Great development.. A few years ago the developer was minding his own business watching our progress from Puerto Rico back to Houston. I looked over his shoulder and asked how he was doing what he was,as I thought it was impossible to do given the lack of wifi on the plane . He then told me that it was his mapping and technology allowing ground following and plane transponders that made it possible. He and his family were on their way home from a vacation as were my wife and I from an eastern Carrie cruise. Great deal for use while airborne, traveling . Wow!

FlightAware. I have the program called Foreflight. In some ways, your program is better than the one I pay for it. You actually show the outlines of the airplanes. On ForeFlight they just show little arrows. You have to tap on them to see what kind of a plane it is. Being a commercial pilot, I could navigate my small airplane with your program quite well. I cannot believe how good it is. I’m not the best computer guy and yet it is so easy to use. I am such a fan!

Best, Most Accurate Flight Follower. I have used FlightAware for many years and it has never let me down. I was also using another well known tracker and even paid the premium for all of the extra features. They violated our “contract” and eliminated the extra features unless a monthly subscription was agreed to. FlightAware provides all the needed features for free. As a retired airline pilot I can tell you, FlightAware is the real deal that professional pilots have confidence in.

Much more information than I thought. Love to be able to see where a flight goes. Weather radar is shown, giving more information to see some indication of how the flight went. Flight history is provided to see if this is a perennially late or early departure or arrival. You can also track the aircraft to see where your plane is. Finally, for this review, you can also see a map of where you are and identify aircraft above you, what altitude they are flying, where the flight originated and its destination for flights with files flight plans. You can also identify whose aircraft it is if it is a commercial flight.

We got from MIA to FAI in one day thanks to Flight Aware!. We had a long 3 segment flight from MIA to FAI through DTW and SEA. We only made it through this app. I used it to track all our flights plus the inbound flights that had our planes as we had a tight connection in DTW. Using notifications it let me know all the statuses and told me before Delta did of delays. Our initial flight had a 2 hour weather related ground stop while we were sitting on it and we would miss our connection in DTW except Flight Aware kept updating me that our DTW-SEA flight kept getting pushed back due to delays so when we got there we made the flight as it got pushed back a few more times due to mechanical issues with the jetway. Except we would miss out SEA-FAI connection! Once again Flight Aware informed me before Delta of delays with our SEA-FAI flight and we ended up making it! Without Flight Aware I might have wrongly accepted Delta’s offers to reschedule a day later and would have missed parts of our scheduled events in Fairbanks!

Last update needs bug fixing. I’ve been using FlightAware for a long time and think highly of it. It would merit probably 4 stars if not for a few bugs that I think showed up since the last update of either FlightAware or iOS. One thing is I don’t have a settings icon top right. If I click that area my settings will show up but the icon itself is missing. Clicking the layers icon most of the time shows up a white square in the bottom with a few checkmarks but no accompanying text and no way to close the layers options - the icons dealing with that are hidden like the settings icon. This happens with the light theme on both my iPhone 8 and iPad Pro 9.7” running the latest iOS. With the dark theme everything works as it should. Edit: thanks to the swift response back to 4 stars!

Best travel companion. This App is the go-to source for information. I travel for work, and ignore anything an airline or airport says if it’s different from what FlightAware says. You will see flight delays from incoming flights well before an airline admits publicly that the outbound flight will also be delayed. You don’t have to be an expert to see that if the flight coming in to pick you up is arriving after your schedule departure time, your flight is almost certain to be delayed as well. Only in extreme delays have I ever seen a substitution of aircraft. Also good info is the status of an airport itself. If there are general delays for any reason, I start paying closer attention to connecting alternatives and arrange for options. Well thought out and designed App.

Best flight tracking app and service there is. FlightAware is by far the best flight tracking service that a consumer can find on the Internet. The app is a portal into their service, and provides no-nonsense access for tracking a flight from the time the pilot files a flight plan to wheels on the ground at landing and the various stages of the flight in between. As a bonus, their real-time display of flights in the air for most parts of the world is an informative and addictive way to observe just how busy the skies and major airports really are.

Amazing. Barely write reviews for apps but you guys definitely deserve one. I love how I can look where flights are going when I see the airplanes from the ground some are coming from Europe or don't even have a stop in the US it's awesome! It also helps me to track when a family member flight is on time or delayed as well as seeing where are they in the Atlantic while I run errands before picking them up; it definitely saves me money too because if a flight it's delayed I don't have to over pay for parking at the airport and just get there at the right time.

Must have. Great value for this app - and its. There is no reason I would not happily recommend this app, the ads at the bottom of the screen are a slight annoyance but if that's the only price I pay it's worth it.

One of the best app available. I use this app in daily basis. This app is the only app I know of which shows flight schedule of the smaller airlines which use the same airport runways but have their own departure/arrival building (such as Skipper, Cobham, etc). Room for improvements: 1) add more flights in the list for En Route tab 2) replace the time shows in the En route from departure time in the original airport to estimated arrival time in the destination airport 3) reduce the number of rows/paragraph required to show the one flight information in the listing view to minimum

Love the App but….. Been using for a while and for the most part love the app but randomly when I open the app and there are no flights in my area it will move half way around the world. It shows my location but when I click the blue arrow it takes me to back to Africa or Italy or Alaska just some place totally random. I move back to my location and the app just automatically takes me to where it wants me unless there is a flight in my area. At least I no when there are no flights in my area, which it would show if it just showed me in my location but for some reason the developers want me somewhere else in the world other than where I am. There is never a issue finding my location even on devices without location service running.

Easy to use. Great App really easy to input flights etc and get real time results

Best app ever. I am using this app for forever now it’s really accurate and updated

Terrible functionality. When trying to input route into form, the keyboard is in the way of selecting airports on a phone, and it is impossible to select from the desired airport in the drop down menu, making the app useless. I have deleted and reinstalled, problem remains.

App is informative. I find the app very informative and it assists me not only in a professional capacity as well as personal for travelling. The only problem I see with a feature in the app is when you open the window to change the viewing to Hybrid you are unable to tick that box. I believe it is because the Hybrid facility is too low and covered by an add window or the bottom of the screen.

Used daily. I use this app every day, several times a day to track the incoming flights I attend for my line of work. The most accurate one I have found. I know exactly the position of the plane and can time my arrival impeccably with it.

Getting over complex. KISS. Difficult to use. Opens up with no map of your area & airports. I simply want to see where the fire fighting planes are. Safety in knowledge of fire location.

Information. Found out more information than Virgin was informing us

Question. I wish I knew when I open flight aware how to have my area come up immediately without the window on the side

It just works. It just works very well. Lots of interesting information to while away the waiting tomes at the terminal.

App is now rubbish with ads covering the main page every 10 seconds. This app was great- would have previously given it 5 stars and been prepared to pay for it if not annoyed by surreptitious ads which now cover the screen every time you change view between flights, ETA, airports etc Will be deleting this app - plenty of others available - don’t download if you want to avoid the frustration and the fact nobody mentions there is an in-app purchase or forced premium version. Developers trying to hoodwink their customers outsmarting themselves me thinks! Au revoir!

Tracking. I take my privacy very seriously, and I wish Flight Aware did as well. The disclosure on the AppStore page says they track a ton of things, and that is gross. Please do better than this. Remove user-hostile tracking from this app.

Aircraft regio. Be really good to have the aircraft regional. Believe it used to be shown but seems no longer available?

Great app. Great app, a bit of a learning curve with tracking specific flights but that’s interesting in itself!

A very handy App to have. A very handy an reasonably accurate App to have on your phone! Wether your taking a trip or checking on a loved one that is coming back home from anywhere in the world, you need to download this app!

Love. We love sitting out the back watching the planes go over and trying to guess which airline and destinations

Constantly crashes!. When changing settings, app crashes. Viewing flights, any selection of flight details can cause crashing. I have never seen an app so buggy! What it tries to do is great... but the drop outs make it unworkable.

FlightAware keeps you aware. Great app when you are going to collect someone from the airport. Time the drive to match the arrival. Very useful.

Easy peasy. Quick and easy to use

Flight Aware. Truly enjoy seeing where family members are such a wonderful app brilliant

Great but some UI bugs. Good app, some UI issues where screens freeze, but when it’s working this is great.

Great information let down by interface design. Have always used FlightAware to track my flights, friends holiday flights or what plane just roared overhead. The features you’d expect are all there, but a poor interface design, unexpected screen flows and non-intuitive icons makes the user experience for me somewhat frustrating.

Outstanding flight tracker. Perhaps one of the easy to use free flight tracking app for casual flyers. Loved using it every time someone that mattered to me got airborne. The data is real time and accurate.

Like this ap. What a great ap for the serious or like myself ,curious when seeing a plane overhead and being able to identify it . John

Family trips. FlightAware always lets me know where my family are on their flights to and from home. Love it that I can see exactly where they are in the sky. Thanks again, FlightAware. 👌🏼

Work. Use Flight Aware for work ARO at YPKU all the time.

Clunky app. This app though a potential winner is not too good with the refresh rate in terms of position updating. Can also do with a better airport and airline search function. Otherwise it’s not too bad

Useless. I cannot search a flight if I don’t have the flight number! I choose origin and then destination and the response is ‘no flights’ even though I know the flight exists! Hopeless app. Doesn’t work properly at all.

Easy to use!. I love this app it’s easy to use accurate and the push notifications are fantastic. Everyone who ever has to catch a plane or meet someone who is on a plane should use this app

The best and most accurate information available. I think this app is best of all for accurate information.

Tremendous way to stay informed. The new update with the number row sounds like it shouldn’t be a big deal, but it’s made searching flights ridiculously easy. I recommend this app to anyone who wants to learn about flight updates fast enough to seem like a wizard (because you’ll know before the screens in the airport show a change!)

Tracking. I can’t seem to track any flights now. Don’t like this app now.

Great, but I’d pay to remove ads!. This shows flights that aren’t on other trackers - I’m a busybody and like to know what the police chopper is up to :-) sometimes it’s blocked on other apps but finally found FlightAware! I just wish I could pay to remove the ads!

Good service. Extremely helpful

Very handy app. Love that it remembers recent searches and that one can look up the ‘incoming flight’ status too. Very handy when monitoring families multi leg journeys with weather delays etc

Excellent. Great app. Best in class. Devs have put in a lot of hard work-thank you. I hate subscription apps. Please bring back the one time purchase.

M. Great app accurate and easy to follow Cud possibly ad flight boards at don stage

Essential app for people living in remote areas. Do you live in a remote area? If so, it is likely that you rely on aircraft to some degree. Whether they deliver mail, passengers / staff or maybe both, there’s a fair chance that you’ll need to know where and when the plane is getting in.

Thank you. I am a father that have children that fly often and love to follow their flying. FlightAware does just that!

Video ad every 15-30 seconds. I tried using this app but the same video ad kept popping up, despite watching the video ad in full, moments later it popped back up again. Delete, even though I am willing to pay for no ads, the way they annoy you with constant ads to try and force you to pay is not cool, so out of principle I won’t pay for an ad free subscription.

Disappointed. Very disappointed, you can’t change distance from miles to kilometres etc

RJH. Intuitive and accurate Thanks +++

Doesn’t show on map. Used to be a good app. Now it doesn’t track the flight on map. Useless.

Old Pilot. Love the App, use to follow the kids flights for arrivals and time for pickups. Also keen to identify overflying aircraft types an flight plans

Flight Aware is very accurate and reliable.. Wonderful

The one to use. Go to app for flight details in Oz

Was a good app. I have used this app with great success for the last 2 years. However after the last update I haven’t been able to track my flight or even see any other planes on the map. I’ve now switched to flight radar24

Curious. We hear a plane fly over every night around 11 pm and wondered who is out there so late flying over the bay? Flight Aware told us which plane it is, where it is going. Where it took off. It’s speed, its altitude and we even googled the rego and found out who owns it and what they are carrying and got a picture of the plane. Pretty cool. Now when we hear a plane go over we can check it out! Thanks!

can’t register, that screen is frozen. using iphone pro 13 max with latest software.

Great. Easy to use.

Easy to search and track my trips. Very easy to enter flight information and track timings. Schedules and delays. Very helpful for any vacation via flights.

Good, but. Why is all flight data in metric? Aviation works on Imperial measurements. Feet above sea level, nautical miles, statute miles, inches of mercury, nautical miles per hour, Mach speeds. Metric conversions just lead to misunderstandings.

Great Update All Flights. Great Job keep it Up Really Love it Tlimo

Airports agents. Hello, very good site for everyone, but specially for airlines agents, we can track where is our flight and how much time to land.

Flight aware. Fantastic for enthusiasts to know what that plane is and where it's going to or coming from

Très bonne application. Félicitations

Garbage. Garbage. Couldn't even sign-up. its 2024 and this app sucks like its 1999.

Keeps getting worse each update. Flight aware used to be my go to flight tracker. But, with each update, they make it harder to use, and harder to find the information you need.

Love this App!. Easy to use and quite accurate and it’s FREE! Love it!

Errors upon errors the one time I use it.. It was great but recently, not so much.

Why did this app change?!?. This used to be my favourite app on my Galaxy S8, but when I bought an iPhone and downloaded the app it doesn’t do half of what it used to. Worst of all, the “flights near me” feature is nonexistent so I can no longer follow flights. Really pathetic.

App. I find this app so helpful!!! I love it and use it every time when a flight is involved.

Disaster. Used to work fine up until a year ago. Now it keeps turning off after about 20 seconds. Plus too many ads interfering. Wouldn’t recommend this anymore.

Robert L , Bromont.. Très précis. Et utile .

ST Walsh. Excellent app! Easy to use for both a regular traveller or an aviation buff

difficile. eifficile a plannifier ou effacer

Why is it so good. Nice for planning when to pick up the passengers

I miss old version of FA. I miss old version of FA. I must be aging, as I can’t find items such as photos and other details that used to be easy to find

Excellent app. One. Get full detail flight that is being track

Aircraft flying overhead and Everywhere .. Love seeing the Carrier, A/C and Routings .. Great App.

FlightAware. I really like the Flightaware Program and; have been using it for over 10 years, since inception of the Pi-Aware program; for Professionals; Recreational and SAR (Search and Rescue) Applications; Keep up the good work; Flightaware w/ Nav Canada. SSA, RR.

It’s ok in most areas. It’s very good for searching information and flight tracking. Notifications settings and reliability can still be a challenge.

Great App. Great app easy to use.

Not useful for tracking an arrival. This app seems geared toward people who are just curious about ALL planes in the sky, not a particular plane. This is not very practical for me when trying to figure out when someone’s arriving or if their flight is delayed. Upon punching in a flight number and selecting the flight, when I go back to the screen it says the flight (which is in fact delayed) is on time to depart in 46 hours. Huh?? This is the same flight number but the wrong day. Why does it think I want to see “every plane past and present that flew this flight number?” How is that useful? I want to see when THIS flight is arriving. Maybe good for airline workers, this is too complicated and has too much extraneous information for the person picking someone up at the airport

Used to be better. FlightAware was my go-to source for flight info. But they have made recent changes making the app less helpful. They no longer provide inbound plane information, which was so helpful. Bring it back please!

Application inutilisable maintenant.

Wish: live notifications. This app is almost perfect. Please consider adding Live Notifications! 🙏🏻 This new capability of iOS is an awesome addon to this app.

Caprougeois. excellent!

Miles per hour?. Really? Why can’t I change miles per hour to something the rest of the world uses like kilometres per hour or nautical miles per hour?

LOVE THIS APP. Just followed my Granson half way around the world and enjoyed every minute of it!!!! Very accurate, knew exactly where he was, felt like I was on the trip with him. I encouraged him to travel and it was nice to follow his Adventure. Best App for accurate travel information!!! A Big Thank You to the developers.

Dropped feature?. I really liked this app, but the new “improved “ version no longer provides A way to see where inbound plane is. That used to be a key reason to use the app. Not all upgrades are good. Wish I didn’t auto update.

Excellent plane tracking App. This is a great app and you can see multiple flight that’s arriving or departing from the location. Great App explore the routes and location of the plane.

Used to be good. Now you have to pay.

Très pratique. Excellent

Too many ads. Basically an okay app. But it uses up a huge amount of your data with a continuous steam of google push ads. If there was an option for an ad-free version, it would a huge improvement.

Airport abbreviations. How does one discover (while looking at flight paths in the area) what airports these abbreviations stand for?

Best Flight radar app. I’ve been using another app to track flights, took the move when that app got filled with ads and many flights not showing, I must say this app is the greatest flight radar in the store!

Does a great job. It’s nice to be able to track incoming flights when I pick someone up at the airport

SIA25. Cannot find. Your App is most confusing.

Excellente application!. Très bonne application. Très bien détaillé. superbe!! Merci...!!!

J’adore! 👍👍👍

Layers. The weather layer never shows any weather

Best flight tracker. Great for family to follow

You just ruined great app. I was using FlightAware for ages, and I loved it. With your newest update you just ruined it. The new map is horrendous, whoever designed it must be color blind. Just looking at it is causing pain in the eye. Please, please, revert to previous map, or at least allow us to choose color scheme.

Paul pilot. Great app. Living near SRQ in Florida and watching flights coming and going

New map is incredibly difficult to read. The new map is impossible to read. Everything is so dark you can’t see any details. I used to enjoy using it but now it gives me a headache. I cannot think of a single reason why this change was made.

Facile d’utilisation. Cette application est conviviale et très facile à utiliser

App is so handy!. We first learned of Flight Aware when our son was flying several times a year from school to home, and what a great app to have as a parent. We lived in a small community so commuting in and out of a “feeder” city was always ify with his flights. But F.A. was great to keep real time info close at hand when he flew home or back to school. Since that time, we continue to use when keeping up with other family or friend’s flight.

This exceeded my expectations. I have to admit I rarely review anything but I’m impressed enough with this one I felt compelled. It has a lot of info available and can be for the casual traveler to the business men. I only wish there were a few options to change the skins. Darker is always better for late night things. Anyway I’ve used other similar apps for years but this is the closest thing to perfect you’re going to find.

Fantastic App - Now peddles advertisements (solved). I truly enjoy this App tracking flights all over the globe. Life was good until last week when the app started pushing annoying ads taking up 5% of screen layout. There were no ads until then. In all fairness, I somewhat remember paying $ to not have ads. Just very disappointed. (Thank you for reaching out and restoring the original subscription. Problem solved.)

Best Flight App. This is my go to flight app. I had issues a few months ago but it has been fixed. The map is great and so accurate. I pick up VIPs and need to know when they are arriving and this app makes it easy. I also use it when I travel, even overseas, to check my own flights. If you are connecting you can check your new flight’s gate when you land. Keep up the good work FlightAware!

Buggy and inaccurate. Really wanted this to work. Kept trying. Alerts are buggy, information didn’t stay up to date compared with other sources, and navigation is weird. I’d try to make an alert and when I hit save it would tell me there was an error. Then after five times it said too many. So I looked and they were there. Don’t know why I got the error, but it was annoying. Clearly said they weren’t being set. Had a flight I was watching and the time was 10 minutes off and never updated when the flight delayed. On top of all that, I never got a single alert for the flight! Alert is set, nothing happened. Moving to something else.

Not that great. I like this app for its functionality to view and see flights in and overhead format. It is very much like FAA TOPS that shows a pictorial representation of all airplanes in the air at one time. You can zoom in to individual aircraft and see altitude, airspeed and aircraft type. The biggest downside I’ve noticed is updating delayed flight information to reflect the new arrival time. I don’t know why they can’t get this right under arrivals information. I have to look at another source to get the updated arrival time. I hope they fix this issue, then it will be a 5 star app.

Peace of Mind. As a parent I have family members that travel periodically around the globe. I tried FlightAware several years ago and have never looked back since. With this app I can monitor their flight status at a quick glance. It provides me with all the information I need. This is a great source of information for anyone interested in monitoring current “in flight” status. I highly recommend this great source of information.

Life saver for casual and seasoned traveler. This app is the most up to date information that you can find when managing flights including changes in flight plans and gate changes. It can save you a rush to a counter if you see a flight is delayed or redirected. And, for the aviation fans, it’s always cool to see all the flights around you and whew they’re headed. Also: the misery index is life changing when seeing you’re going to be delayed.

Took a great app and made it difficult to use. Very disappointed - I use to like FlightAware. It was easy to use and had more up to date information over the airlines but the past few versions have been horrible. Data is not updated. My flight was cancelled last night and 3 hours later they still had it has only bring delayed. Also can no longer find where my flight is coming from on many flights - this was very helpful to plan my flights so I could avoid airports based on seasonal weather - so I’m now looking for a new app to plan my travel. So sad why apps have to try and get fancy - I just want basic information that is helpful.

Slow refresh, unreliable AC type reporting. The concept of this app is great, two stars. The performance is terrible. With great connection, I could sit and stare at the flight screen for ten minutes and still see the same aircraft on final approach, suspended mid air. Also, after typing in a tail number, I understand if the owners want their flight paths to be kept confidential, but please for the love of aviation give us the aircraft TYPE every single time we punch in a tail number. Even on the aircraft that haven't requested privacy, I usually have to open the flight path screen and look back to a past flight to see the aircraft type.

Notifications. I just sent feedback regarding not being able to receive notifications via text. I couldn’t change the setting on my phone however I went on my iPad and was then able to change it from email to text message not sure how it switched in the first place but all is well with the app again now.

Flight Aware. This App is one of the best ever! Forget practicality! It’s informational but so much more. My husband and I track flights from our patio as we spot them moving across the sky. We often move the view to glimpse what’s crossing the Atlantic (we live in WV) and check to see if a plane is carrying packages such as a UPS flight, or simply a passenger plane carrying thousands to their destinations! I cannot recall an app which brings so much enjoyment! Especially if you love travel....

Great information , poor app functionality. I have been a fan of flightaware for many years now, using it for commercial and private flight tracking (my fiancee is a pilot). The amount and accuracy of the information is unparalleled amongst free flight information apps. However, the alert functionality doesn't work (over multiple versions), and there is no way to contact support that I was able to find (when the “email support” menu is selected, I get an error stating my device is not configured for email, with no instructions to correct the issue.) Disappointing from an app with such great promise.

Nice but not accurate. The app does track some flights but, not all. Hard to let them know of discrepancies. There are other flight trackers that are more accurate. The flight that I was tracking disappeared from their data, it was there in the beginning, when the flight was delayed. When I checked for updates, the flight info was gone. I found another flight tracker and it was showing the flight had been in the air for 5 hours. I’ll still use the app for reference but it needs fixed.

Best travel monitoring app. I’ve used pretty much every airport / airline / flight tracking app there is. This app is the most friendly and informative there is. Setting up flight tracking alerts for any flight you or someone may be taking is so easy to do. Other apps make you learn “airline” or “FAA acronyms” to find the flight you are interested in. If I am flying or want to track a flight because a loved one is on, this app is the only one I use.

My go to app for travel. This app has saved me so much heartache while traveling. I am prepared both while traveling myself and when picking up others at the airport. The fact that you can live see where your incoming plane is…in the air? Stuck on the ground in departure city? Early? Late arrival? Makes planning for travel a breeze. Easy to search flights and save a couple of legs of travel. Appreciate the features.

February 2024 update keeps crashing. I love this app, but after a recent update, it keeps crashing. I click on a plane to see details and once I’m done, the exit arrow disappears and I cannot navigate anymore. Also, the text box appearing when clicking on a plane is too obstructive now. It covers a large section of the map. I preferred it when the text was not within a box and you cold better see the map.

Great, but missing something very important. FlightAware has improved a lot over the year and is now much easier to use. It is now much easier to find flights and set notifications. Both are keys for users. However, it is very annoying that the app does not display terminal information for flights. Because of that I have to install Flighty to get that. For large airports in big cities terminal information is very helpful for both departure and arrival.

Great app!. I love this app. I can track my boyfriend’s flights (he’s a FedEx pilot), so I can text him as he’s arriving. It’s easy to find commercial flights & know if they’re on time. I like being able to track my plane before it arrives at the airport, to know if it’s delayed elsewhere. It’s not uncommon that I can that find out before it’s announced at the airport, so that I can start making alternate arrangements early. It’s also to helpful to check airports to see if flights in general going in and out are delayed.

Must have app for Frequent Flyers. If you travel a lot, I travel 200k actual miles a year, this app is a must have to ensure you know if you’re going to get to where you want to go. The information is top notch, the User interface works and there isn’t a lot of extraneous features. Is my plane departing on time? As if not more important where is my plane coming from? It answers those two questions and you know enough if you need to modify your arrangements. Thanks for such a great app!

Update ruined it. I have been using this app for over two years and have had a great experience until now. Their accurate gate and arrival/departure information is the reason why I enjoyed this app so much. However, after the recent update i can no longer view the gate information. I urge the developers to bring this feature back. Thank you. Update: Developers fixed this issue review changed from two stars to five.

Pretty good. I just use it for watching the night sky while walking the dog. The only feature I would ask for is dynamic orientation (like Google maps, based on device heading.) The app supports most of the very busy airspace over me. All plane traffic is covered. As expected, military traffic is often omitted. What surprises me is the frequent omission of helo traffic to/from a nearby hospital, and some local GA.

Still no longer great. A key feature that made this my go-to app is missing. They no longer show the status of the inbound equipment making up your flight! Very disappointing! Without this feature, I never would have paid for the app to begin with. To their credit, it appears you can find codeshare flights again. That’s why I went from one star to two. Was totally useless for flying with regional carriers before recent improvements. However, this only makes them about as good as the competition.

Clunky useless app if you are an aviation buff. This app was obviously written by someone that isn’t an end user. It’s slow, difficult to see the planes as they are not in color. Aircraft positions don’t continuously update as other apps do. When you touch an aircraft simply to see its information it zooms out to show its entire flight path and you have to zoom back in to continue to use the app in your area. All they need to do is simply duplicate their SkyAware GUI that is provided on the PiAware units. If you are only wanting to follow a single flight, then this is for you. If you like to actively scan the sky and see what’s around you then this app ain’t for you.

Flight Follower. I have been a longtime user of this app and the flight information is generally good. I understand the need for ad revenue to support maintenance of the app. However, the formerly silent ads that shared space with flight information, now include ads that COMPLETELY eliminate all flight information with a FULL SCREEN AD that includes a LONG, LOUD CACOPHONY OF NOISE that not only bombards the app’s user, but anyone else that is in their vicinity. I have not been able to find a way to stop this startling obnoxious intrusion other than completely closing the app. These intrusions reduce the usefulness of this app by completely blocking flight information.

Update: October 27, 2018: Fixed. Update: The issues I’ve complained about to support have all now been fixed. Good job! This app is the best app there is for flight tracking, bar none. 5 stars now As of September 20, 2018, they did fix the auto-refresh problem. The maps still show incomplete information just like the screenshots I’ve sent them. That being said, still hands down the BEST app for tracking flights.

Never travel without consulting this app!!. I travel 3 weeks/month—so knowing where my flights are is very important to me. I simply enter in my airline and flight # and I can even see “where my flight is now”—hours before my personal flight time. It’s also very ha su when I have to pick up family and friends from the airport—just plug in their flight # and Easily arrive at the airport in time for their arrival. LOVE FLIGHT AWARE!!

Best Flight Tracker...period.. I have used the other flight tracking apps and Flight Aware is the best I have found, and I have been at this for quite a while. The only thing to be aware of is the tracking tends to be delayed by up to 3 minutes, which could be my cellular provider, wi-fi provider, but that is the only "issue" to be aware of. Bottom line, FlightAware is fantastic as it is intriguing !

Love it. Our family does a lot of flying. We use this app for every flight. With internet, it even works great in foreign countries. We can check the history to see the on-time results. We can also always see when there is a delay or change, usually before it shows up on the display screen at the airport.

Used to love this app. It’s great for business travel and being informed of flight status changes and delays, always before the airline tells you. Lately, however it’s become a bit buggy. It was crashing all the time so I updated to the latest version today. Now no crashing but the “where’s my airplane” feature no longer works. Still very useful app.

Flight aware review. Since I upgraded the app about a week ago, it seems more glitchy. The graphics are different and when a pinch open the landmass to look where the plane is flying over it takes a very long time to load. It also takes a long time for the images to become clear when I zoom in. I am not a fan of this new upgrade

Love your app!!!. I knew more about the flight than my wife did and she was on the plane while I was waiting to pick her up! Great app, FlightAware! Thank you!!!! Highly recommended, easy to use and tons of info! I also print out the airport diagram (Google) which tells me what runway and concourse they’re going to to plus I have a airport scanner where I can listen to the tower and pilots conversation! This app tops it all off!! Thanks again, FlightAware!!

Fantastic airline status tracker. I’ve been using Flight Aware app for many years. It is very accurate and extremely helpful to plan and track various flights with different airlines. I fly Delta frequently and Flight Aware provides more up to date information. I use Flight Aware to track flights for family members and friends which helps anticipating departures and arrivals to get to the airport and back.

Must Have For Everyone!. This app is an absolute must have, whether you fly more than 50% of the year, or literally fly or pick someone up once a year. Great tracking, alerts, and delay information. Absolutely a five star app! Oh - and to the developers: please don’t ever change the interface! Too many app developers make “improvements” that end up breaking the experience. Leave it alone, please! 😊

Most Reliable & Convenient Flight Tracking. I always use this when flying to determine my gate, delays, and to notify those awaiting my arrival of flight updates via email. Amazing app. Unfortunately they’ve now added extremely intrusive adds at the bottom that continuously scroll and change. This makes it impossible for someone like me who has difficulty tuning out distractions to focus on the relevant data making this app now nearly useless to me. Deleted and using web version with an add blocker exclusively so I can focus reliably on the relevant data. Rather than having ethical ads with less click bait clicks, you get nothing from me.

I’m back.. I used Flight Aware on my last phone, but had an awful lot of issues resulting from my slow connectivity. I suspected as much but sadly had to delete it. With a new(er) iPhone and same sloooow WiFi, it seems that all my old frustrations have been addressed. I’m very happy to read the reviews of those that had the same issues, but were now happy. Furthermore, the timely, professional response from the developers was a breath of fresh air! I’ve worked in costumer service for almost 5 decades. I’m too many situations/businesses, “Customer Service” died in the ‘90’s. It’s nice to see some developers with old time replies & courtesies. I’m going to run it for a while before upgrading, but it looks like that’ll be a pretty good bet.

Simple, yet important button missing. I love FlightAware’s website. Their app is also very nice when it works. The big problem I have is with the nearby traffic map. When it fails to update… that’s just it. There are times when I see data that is obviously stale. Anything from 15 minutes old to hours old and there’s nothing I’ve found that will fix it. Killing the app and reopening just seems to load the same stale data. A simple refresh button is badly needed. I don’t know why FlightAware’s developers haven’t added one already.

Display Problems. I would normally give a 5 star rating, but not this time. When you go to the display that shows all the flights in an area and then click on a plane to see what airline it is, the flight ID strip goes to the bottom of the screen. Try to move it to the center and the ID strip disappears in about 2 seconds. This has turned into a very UNFRIENDLY user part of the app. The rest of the app is fine.

Arrived status. When looking at particular tale numbers In previous versions a flight would say “Arrived two days Ago” or “Arrived six hours Ago” or Arrived “Six weeks ago”. Now it’s been changed to where they all just say “Arrived”. You now have to look at the dates and figure out how many days weeks or whatever since it’s last flight. Why did this change. I would improve my rating if they would put this back. When looking at a certain planes tail numbers each flight just says “Arrived” as opposed to the more helpful “Arrived two days ago”. Please put it back.

Helpful during late departures and weather. Very helpful to know, when your flight delayed, about location of the plane and where it is coming from, especially when the weather is bad. One could actually see how the towers divert the traffic, based on storm location and wind speed. And on the ground, my family knows when to pick me up in “real time”. I simply love it! Thank you.

Great program!. Love this program! My grandson is a pilot for a private firm and I get to follow him all over the country. FlightAware tells me when, where, altitude, speed and shows the flight path he is taking on each trip. I usually go to Google maps to look up the area where he landed and then Google that area or city to find out more about it. Makes a great geography and history lesson.

Love the app, but.... Really love the app but specially since I live by a major airport. Great to look up in the sky and see where the various planes are heading. One slight glitch since the latest update. When I tap the far right bottom icon that looks like stacked paper, the lower half of my iPhone screen turns solid white. There are a few small blue dots on the left side. And the only way to get rid of this white segment is to close the app. Am I the only one that is having this issue?

Awesome app!. Do you fly? Do you know someone that flies? Do you like to get timely, accurate updates about said flights? Just curious about what’s in the skies overhead? This app’s for you. The quality of data shown consistently by the app puts it head and shoulders above any other competitors. This app has you covered for anything aviation-related! …..I really hope Noah got the Slack hook working for reviews again……

Slow, inaccurate, disappointing. I gave it one star for including small planes’ 978 MHz UAT transponder frequencies, and one star for not crashing. But otherwise, it’s a major disappointment. Flight tracks get hung up for 5-10 minutes on end (I don’t know any fixed wing aircraft that will stay still in the air for this amount to time). Flight legend data like altitude is so small it is almost unreadable. There is a much better flight radar program made in Sweden, but this one doesn’t include the UAT data. If it did, I would stop using FT in a heart-beat.

Incorrect info. I work at an MRO and use FlightAware to track incoming planes and outgoing commercial planes we work on. I have had several planes that were scheduled to come in for maintenance have completely wrong info by FlightAware. The latest was today where a plane was scheduled to be in for maintenance today and I had been tracking for several days showed up last night but as it has for the last week was still showing it’s flight plan as flying from Colorado to North Dakota which is not the airport where I work even when the plane was sitting in the Hangar where I do work. This happening continuously doubts my belief in FlightAware’s accuracy.

Time safe amazing app. I have used this app many times just to check that my personal travel is running on time . Today for the first time I am using this app to track cargo. Very special cargo. See we run a not for profit animal rescue and today a chartered flight is leaving PR full of rescued dogs coming to NY to find their fur-ever homes. This is not the first flight the Soto group has ever made but it is our first time to actually go to the airport and meet the plane . FlightAware is how we are tracking the flight so we can be to the airport on time to greet these amazing animals . Thank you to the pilots , the rescuers , all the people who have helped make this possible and to FlightAware for giving us the ability to make everything run smoothly. Sincerely Celeste Hudson valley animal rescue HVARS

Use App every day. I use flight aware everyday and love the app. My only issue is that I work for Allegiant and the designator for Allegiant is AAY. Every time I go to find my flight I type in AAY followed by the specific flight number. When I search the flight it pulls up American Airlines with that flight number every time. This is not the end of the world and I will not stop using the app because of this but it can get frustrating.

Love!. This is a great tracker. Easy to use and updates super fast. I only wish they had a paid version so I could get it without ads/tracking. But I guess you can’t have everything. I highly recommend this app for anyone who wants to know what’s going on with their flight. But also for people who are picking people up at the airport. Which is mostly how I use it. 5 stars.

Much Improved!. When I first downloaded this app a year or so ago, it was ok but I still found it easier to use the website instead. I just went to use it again for my family’s holiday travels, and all of the features and the user-friendliness were so impressive! I love that I can track specific flights, as well as seeing general delays at key airports that I travel through frequently. Much improved & super helpful - definitely recommend!

Essential App. If you travel by air, have an interest in aviation or just want to know who’s flying over, this is your app. Meeting someone at the airport, Flight Aware gives you up to the moment information. I use this app every week. The “where’s my plane” feature has saved me thousands of dollars and opportunities to get rebooked ahead of other passengers who wait for the airline to tell them news.
