Good app; Question. The app is easy to use but is the reason it is not able to plot my mpg because I haven't made a full fill-up? I've only been making partial fills but it's not plotting anything. Is it because it does not have a maximum?

Works just like I wanted. This app does exactly what I hoped it would do. Ever since I got my new car in June 2009, I used to write my mileage info in a notebook every fill up, but I will be using this from now on. If you're looking for a simple, easy to use app to calculate and keep track of your MPG, then give this one a try.

Great for cars, needs a tweak for Boats. I love how the app works for cars, trucks, etc. But for boats, snowmobiles, etc. it needs the ability to enter BOTH hours and miles instead of having to choose and then from two report methods so you can see both how many MPG (or in the case of large powerboats GPM) and how many GPH your using. Right now it makes you choose one kind of report or the other but for many vehicles such as boats we really need to be able to see and enter both at the same time to get a true idea of our fuel usage. Right now the only way to do that is to create 2 entries for the same vehicle and setup one each way and then go all the way back to the vehicle selection screen to choose the second version and then re-enter the data again each time we fuel which is a pain, plus you can't see both overlaid at the sand time for comparison. This would bd especially useful for boats like family ski boats where sometimes you cruise for long distances without stopping, putting on many miles quickly, yet at other times your pulling kids on tubes and spend hours in a small area making lots of stops and starts burning lots of hours yet not hardly any miles.

Like it very much. If you want to keep track of your milage for just one car, this free version is the best out there. I was very tempted to buy the full version, but it does exactly what I need for my car. I also like the graphs, you can have your mpg calculated in various ways. The new version is even better.

Good App with few minor issues. Good application. I use it even though it handles only one car while I have two. Only problem with it that I have found is in its cost per mile calculation. It includes the original gas filling cost even though the miles driven with it cannot be determined because it was the first gas fill. Over the long term though, the value becomes insignificant. Also, I do not like the fact that it cannot email me my data. It will only export for adding it to the full version of the software. Since this is for my personal use, I do not want to spend the money for it. For a business however, I thing it would be money well spent. If it could track miles spent for personal/deductible expenses, this would be everything that a person could need.

Works For Truckers Too!. This is the first app I've found that tracks mileage to the hundredth (2 decmels.) That's how I track my mileage on my Freightliner. In my business, one tenth of a mile per gallon means about $1000 per year. I track it very closely. This app makes it a snap to track mileage. Five bucks might be high for a toy app, but for a business tool, it's dirt cheap. I will buy it.

Excellent app, easy to use, provides great information. I've been using the free version for about a year now and have nothing but good things to say about it. In fact I will buy the full version to support the developer. Easy to use, a lot of useful information displayed in a simple and convenient format.

Great app!!. Been using the lite version since 2017 when I bought my Mercedes. Logged every fill up, and it’s quick and easy to do. I love being able to see the history of my mileage, mpg, and even gas prices (can’t even remember paying under $3/gallon but I know I did and I know when!!). No limits on the amount of data you can enter. Perfect for one car! Am now upgrading to full version for multiple cars.

Works well!!. I've been using this app for about a year. It is quick and easy to use! The interface is intuitive and clean. It does exactly what it is supposed to do without any nonsense. Very happy with this app!

Not bad, not awesome, but effective.. My only complaint in this vers. is that it won't let me save fill up info unless I put in odometer info. What's with that? I just stick a 1 in there to get past it-very annoying! Let me save if I want to save. Otherwise, this seems like a good app. at the right price. The paid vers. looks nice, but I don't really want to pay $4.99 to add my maint. expenses & road trips. Maybe for a buck or two I'd bite- hint** hint**.

Free version works great.... For free, I think it is great. The layout is excellent and intuitive, making data entry a breeze. The sole annoyance that I could find was that in the free version, it seems impossible to delete the Demo Vehicle. The free version works extremely well, in my opinion.

Love it! Very Effective!. I think this app is great! It helped me keep track of the gas mileage in my car and realize that it's losing gas mileage and is on its last run so I know I need a new car! I want to get the full version but it's a little pricey so i'm just going to wait for the price to lower by at least a dollar but I highly recommend this app to anyone who has a car and a license.

Simply the best. First: to those reviews complaining of only one vehicle — pay a few $ and upgrade to the full version. Building apps as good as this one takes a lot of time and ongoing effort. It’s great we can even get this much for free. I just have one vehicle but I expect to upgrade just to reward the developer for her/his hard work! The care and attention in this app is explained in part by its long update history - 9 years, wow! This also suggests the app will be around for a while longer and won’t leave me stranded with data acquired over many years. I won’t rave about the many features. Suffice to say that fuel entry was quick and intuitive, and everything I thought I might need was already there. Thanks for making a trial version available and congrats on a well done solution!

Great. Does exactly what it says for the lite version. Don't listen to the 1 star reviews. It does in fact track your mpg if you enter the data correctly. I'm probably going to upgrade to the full version to get the extra features there. Absolutely great app, especially for free!

AWESOME and FREE. I spent 5-6 hours downloading and trying othe fuel apps, they all lacked one thing or another that I wished to see in a simple MPG/cost per gallon application. I was unwilling to spend 4-6 bucks for something so simple. I kept all my purchases between free and 3 bucks...what a waste of cash. I decided to look at the higher dollar apps and came by this freebie, it does everything I need and want. I might even spend the bucks for the full app. Fantastic and easy to use app right here!! Easy to add information, easy to edit, great keyboard, really nice graphing, perfect over view information on each fill up and it loads quickly.

Absolutely Love This App. I have used Road Trip for the last seven years. Never had any issue with this app. The only problem I have is not with Road Trip. It is that my V8 Jeep Grand Cherokee is only averaging 9.9mpg with city driving.

needs some tweeking .:.. Generally, a very useful application. I would also like to have a notes section to input when hauling a trailer, pushing snow or what blend of diesel is being used. It would be nice to have the applciation calculate the cost/mile for each entry. The large keypad is a nice touch and the statistcal plot should be dots or a smooth line so the trend can be viewed easier. Overall, four stars!

Great fuel tracker!. This is just great! This application tracks fuel consumptions very well and displays a graph showing kilometers per liter (also miles per gallon, for those impractical folks out there). The paid version promises some other features that I don't particularly use, so I will stick to this version. Keep logging at the station and you will know historically how your car has used up the fuel. Very helpful when you have a company car too! Also, the screen looks very nice!

PK. The app is great if you have one car. But I have more than one, and it is complicated or impossible to use this app for more or different cars. I wish this would work or would be easier. I needed to download a different app.

Limited—just buy the full version. Seriously, you won't get the complete experience with this lite version, particularly because it is missing fields that are in the full version. Give it a try for the interface and then, if you like how it feels, buy the full version.

Export. I like this apps because it is free but one negative is export data. The website said, " To transfer your data from Road Trip Lite, open Road Trip Lite and push the Export Data button on the Preferences page. Note: You will need to upgrade to Road Trip 1.3 before you can transfer your data (upgrades are always free). Road Trip 1.3 should be available in iTunes shortly. Thanks for your patience." and the apps is version 1.4. It is not working and the apps on my iphone said, the sign said you must buy version and can export data. I think it is joking and I don't want to buy it for 4.99, forget it! --

Useful. I really like this app, makes tracking my gas mileage a breeze. It would be a really great feature to be able to put in your last oil change, and then have a reminder pop up when your odometer gets to 2500 more or somewhere near there.

Cool. Very nice and useful app, definitely gping to use during our summer road trip. Just little FYI if you are going to do a "dry" testing, note that you have to add the entries into the past - otherwise the graph or average counts (overall the main screen) wont show any results:)

Simple and to the point. This is a great app for being simple and easy to use. To many apps try to be do everything, and end up doing them half way. This one does a job, no more no less. Great app, and I have over three years of use from it. That alone should say something ...

Very good program!. One thing would make it better is to have the name of the gas station where you purchased gas. Program provides really quick entries! Thank you!

Just what I was looking for. Others may complain that this app is not complex enough or it's something you can do your self with pen and paper. I tried other apps that may be more robust than this one but they are so complicated that you are lost in so much data. I was looking for a straight forward app that keeps track of my MPGs and this one does it beautifully. If this is what you are looking for, you have arrived to your destination.

Single vehicle. This app is not for multiple vehicles only allows records for one vehicle. Disappointed

One of the better mileage apps. This app is one of the better mileage tracking apps. Although Gas Cubby has option for vehicle info, Road Trip Lite's approach is functional and makes more sense. I deleted Gas Cubby and went back to this app which I have for the longest time.

Solve problem’s. How to add another veacal ?

No Export Option. I don’t see any option to export my data to CSV format or anything! That’s highly disappointing…

Fantastic Lite Version. This lite app is awesome. I read the negative reviews before downloading anyway and I realize now that those reviews came from user misunderstanding. All you have to do is read the description to know exactly what you’re getting here. What’s great about this lite app is that if you strictly just wanted the features this version offered, then you wouldn’t even need to upgrade! Granted, the features you’d want if you’re looking at an app like this are in the paid version, but I have to say I respect the developer to create a completely functional app that a user can hold on to if it met all their needs. It’s also nice to get to test the app’s UX and see the UI before paying for the full version; app felt and looked great, so upgraded immediately. Anyway, if you’re looking to just track your MPG for a car, this is perfect. If you want more, get the full version - it’s worth it.

Same info is now spread out 👎. App refresh has lighter look, but has data spread out over multiple places. Now I have to swipe to see fuel prices/mpg. I used to be able to compare them against one another on the same graph. This is a bummer. The same thing happened with average/last fill info. This was once in the same place, and now I must swipe around for it. Meanwhile there seems to wide swaths of unused screen real estate. This doesn't feel like much of an upgrade to me.

Fantastic app. Great little app. I can get rid of my stack of receipts I keep telling myself I'm going to audit some day. I like the graph feature for both price and economy. My only issue--and yes, I know it's available in the full version--is that I wish the Lite/free version could track multiple vehicles. Because that's my only need over what the Lite version offers, I won't be buying the full version with all it's various extra features I don't need.

Has everything. I checked out a few mileage trackers and this is the best. Easy to enter numbers with a large pad. Computes price per gallon if you enter total cost which confirms your entry. Handles not filling the tank. Almost no wasted keystrokes to enter data. Other apps are cumbersome in comparison.

LOVE THIS!!!. This is probably one of my top 5 i-Pod apps! I love love LOVE the free version and want to buy the not-free version, but'll probably wait until it's on sale. I've never kept track of my gasoline expenses or my gas mileage. But, after buying a new car, I thought it would be great to know if that "sticker avg. miles/gallon" were correct, and it was! This is a great app, and you can try it out for free. Can't beat that!!

Not for ppl who can't afford to fill gastank. The developer should note in the description, not just in the website FAQ, that you will need to completely fill your gastank at least twice before it will calculate data. I, for one, cannot afford the $80 it would take to fill-up so only do partial fill-ups. It would've been nice to know this before spending the past month adding data to just get nothing.

App doesn't save input. Great app but won't save my entries. I have only been able to get the app to store info once. Since then, I can add the data bit next time I open the app, it is gone. Too bad but i'm getting a different app I can trust.

Fantastic!! Even the lite version. Been using this for years now. Love it!

Limited to one vehicle. This is a good app with nice graphs. The data entry is decent, but not great. The ability to put fuel in by litres or gallons is nice, but not important to most users. The $/Gallon is in between the Gallons and Price field. Not intuitive at all. It requires that you pay close attention to your entry process, or you will accidentally put the wrong information into the wrong field. Not as complete as many other apps for this but still functional.

simple MPG. How does this super-simple LITE version tempt me to want to spend $4.99 to upgrade? Go to the web site, as the app page is worthless. For money I want an automatic decimal on the fuel price (is the price going double or triple-digit soon--then I won't need this app), commute notes and driving-style notes. I did not find the repairs corner. Other apps give much more for free... --AK

It does what it does very well!. I was looking for a simple MPG logger... all others I found were either too fancy and was light on the MPG side, or wasn't displaying information correctly nor intuitively. This one was great! It does what it does well. I'm "upgrading" from PalmOS where I used Highway Manager for 12 years, and have been looking for something comparable, and this is exactly that. well, being a light version it only tracks one car, but enough for me to try and commit to buy the full version. Highly recommended!

Needs to have more. This app is good for gas info but it needs more; I.e., expenses like tires, oil changes, new battery, repairs. Also need to be able to delete the demo vehicle and add several more cars.

Awesome. Been using this app for about 5 years as the free version. Upgraded to the paid version about a year ago and love it even more. The ability to keep track of Maintence on my car is very helpful. As another reviewer mentioned, the new version of this app has a few quirks to work out, but all in all, well worth the price for the full version.

Great App and Free!. I only keep track of one car, so the free version is perfect, but I would not hesitate to purchase it either. Easy to use, reliable, and sooo much easier than my old method of writing it all down and entering into the computer. I've usually got my fillup entered before I get back in the car.

Wonderful, single-purpose app; works well. Nice job for a freebie... love the old pixelated green monitor display when it's loading! Only one quibble, and thus loses a star, which is that you're graphing mpg using an odd step function for graphing--rather than a line graph. (For those of you who wonder what I mean-- look at the mpg graph in picture... it's a series of squared off white lines.) The way this should work is how you programmed the cost graph... connecting each adjacent point with a direct line. (Addendum: I realized later that you're graphing miles on the x axis--hence, the mpg is a value for that range! OK, makes sense for it to be a step function.). It'd be great if one could also toggle off the cost display-- and if the mpg display graph started at zero. Perhaps those are in the $ app, perhaps not. (It would also be useful if there were a note field to indicate what the driving was--around town or trip to Grandma's). Yet, for what this does, it does it well! And the cost is right! ------- Oh, one other thing. The program works well for editing, data entry, with a nice big keypad-- and even up and down arrows for moving between fields. Well done interface! Now, if there were only a way of importing my mpg info from my Palm TinySheet spreadsheet-- i.e., a CSV or tab-return text synching!

Doc. By far the best app in this catagory! I have tried several diffent apps and this one smashes them all put together. I will be upgrading to the full version as soon as it support OS 3.0. looking at the full version I was wondering if a point of interest addition could be added to the road trip section. As I understand it you can log in a specific trip but not places and expensives for food stops or sites seen. Maybe even could suggest places to stop at once route is entered. Would be a welcomed addition in my opinion. Totally happy with the app as is! Keep up the good work!

Best mpg app out there. Makes keeping up with mpg and scheduled maintenance a breeze. Graphs are awesome as well.

One of the best free apps out there!. This app is great for my mileage tracking. I only drive one vehicle, so the free version works great for me. I drive over 100 miles a day commuting to school, and getting the best fuel economy possible is important to me. It's nice to be able to keep a record without keeping all my receipts.

Fuel receipts only - useless!. This is NOT a log book app. All it records is fuel receipts and the odo at that time. Doesn't record trip by trip info.

Decent. Does what it says it does. No ads or anything unneeded.

Brilliant. I’ve been using the lite version for nearly ten years, it’s amazing that in all of that time there have been no ads or hassle to upgrade. It’s only after chatting to someone recently who said their app let you imput maintenance expenses etc so you can get a true indication of the cost of running your car. I looked at the APP store and low and behold, there’s a full feature packed version available! I’ll be upgrading and paying the $10.99 fee to give credit where credit is due. Great App. I purchased this app not long after I purchased my car about 18mths ago. I love how easy it is to use & that I can track my fuel economy and cost. Helps to understand how the car is running and how my driving effects results. Does everything it says, I love it.

Good, but not $11 good. I quite like the app, it does exactly what it says it does, tracks fuel usage and provides good stats on consumption, etc. I'm obviously using the lite version and went to add a second vehicle today, found that's only an option in the full version, which is $10.99. Which is just too much. I'd happily pay the usual $2.99 even $4.99, but $11 for a mini spreadsheet.... does it drive the car too?

Almost perfection. Would give it 4/5 or even 5/5 if it could graph partial fills and show fuel to distance ratio like it would do in full tank fills. Other then that for the basics its fine

Great Calculator. This one is great for me as I'm Canadian and still using imperial MPG to get a true sense of a vehicle performance. This app will take in liters, kilometers and come up with imperial MPG and that is what I am looking for. Great for me and it is easy to use. The only drawback is that it will only track one vehicle, otherwise 4-star.

Really Good. I am really pleased with this app and am planning on updating to the paid version. Would like to see the ability to sync between multiple devices as we have multiple drivers who may be filling up a vehicle and would like to have the same info on all devices.

Not calculating correctly. I am in canada First it dies not display what you want, i selected to l/ 100km and only gave the ?/l and total liters With the first entry, stats do not calculate With 2 entry it tried calculating the l/100 km and made a math error of a factor of 10 The app could be nice but needs to be fixed

Not for Canada. For those Canadians too young to remember the gallon don't download it let's u do L/km but not cost/L only gallons so it is pointless cause even if u do it the Canadian gallon is more than a US gallon so u will have wrong results

Just the tool I was looking for. Thanks for this great app! I have some suggestions which would make this into a 5-star app for me: -It would be nice if it could "copy over" the settings from the last fill-up (L, price/L, total cost) - to make it easier to keep tabs on my fuel costs, I've gotten into the habit of buying the same amount of gas each time. If it could copy over the settings from the last entry, my fuel entries would be super quick (the date already gets updated automatically). -Quicker startup when starting at the Fuel screen -A competing app allows backup to Google docs account, it would be nice if this app could also do that

Exactly what I needed. This version of Road Trip is excellent! It does exactly what it says it does elegantly and simply. I've been using this for 3 months now with no problems.

It does work in Canada. Canadian gallons are fine, you might just have to do some quick math.

Great app. I've been using this for a few months now. Easy entry screen and excellent info given. The latest update now adds auto conversion from metric to us. Highly recommend.

Great app. I like the fact that I can change the input to either litters or gallons. I go to the USA often and to change it is easy.

Almost but not quite. The main problem with this app is that it assumes the odometer reading is accurate. It would be far more useful if the entry method was the distance traveled since the last fill up rather than the odometer reading. As the larger or smaller than stock tire sizes will affect the odometer reading. Also NOT intuitive way of entering data.

road trip. i have used it for about 10 months. i have lost my data or it has reset a few times whether the aplle iphone update or the program unsure. i do find it easy to use and am reliigious about making my entries. Stats are easily accessed and easy to understand at a glance. i don"t like that there is no way to e mail the data and stats which means no backup. I would like to see a spot in there to add other car expenses. My repair costs and possibly insurance etc would give me an overall cost of ownership at a glance. Keep working on it has great potential.

Great App. I'm buying the full version!. This app is awesome. I've been using it on my VW to track mileage. Very simple to use, quick and easy to add gas amounts. I'm sold - I'm going to be purchasing the full version so that I can use it for my Honda mini-van as well, and also start tracking my maintenance. If you care even remotely about your vehicle and fuel expenses, this app is a no- brainer!

Great App. I am not big on iPhone Apps. Not my thing. But do like useful utilities. I wanted a good gas mileage app so I could do this in the car instead of on my computer. The road trip lite is easy to use, a great utility and made collecting stats easy. For the first time, I will be buying an app here as I want the pro version

Very Useful. I love this app. I can configure it to tell me how many MPG I am getting even though I an inputting the numbers of litres when I fill up. It's great no more calculations!!

What happened?. The app updated and all the info I collected for a year disappeared. Bummer.

Average mileage. I like and use this app each time I fuel up but enter info off the receipt at times. When I forget to record the actual odometre reading, I guess. If there was an option to average the mileage for this situation that'd be great!

Excellent free app, must-have for drivers. First off, you can change units from gallons/litres at any time. It stores it in whatever units you enter it as. Second, this lite version only supports one car, since the full version supports multiple cars. The full is worth buying if you enjoy this one. This app should be on every driver's iPhone.

Nothing you couldn't do with a pen and paper. But worth the download if you drive a lot. Allows you to track mileage, simple and straightforward, good and easy to use.

Works like a champ!. Make sure to set up your own vehicle. Put some entries on the demo vehicle and it deleted them. Whoops.

One Suggestion - Add a comment field. Great program - best in the class but give us one more field - so we can look back and know hy our mileage went up or down. Thanks

Suggestion. So far this ap works fine keeping track of MPG and price per gallon with a simple graph over time. I'd like to suggest an addition: A running total of miles and money spent. That would be great for the end of the year as well as tracking our monthly and yearly budgets! Thanks!

if only i could do more than one vehicle. only thing that the paid version has that i want is more than one vehicle. the paid version is too much though compared to the other apps. if you only have one car this is the best thing to have.

Geek-Wanna-Be. Only problem is the program doesn't like the mileage on my new-to-me car. We just bought a 2001 Windstar with only 37,000 miles on it! It really did belong to a little old lady!

Awesome. No longer need receipts. Filling up more often just to use it. Upgrading to full version just because this one is worth $5.

works great. The lite version is VERY limited, but it functions great. I use this for trips, and use another app for keeping track of day to day fuel economy and repairs. Nice graphs.

Only one option.... The lite version only allows you to track gas and mileage. If that's all you need then it's great. I was looking for an app to help me keep track of scheduled maintenance, which this version doesn't have. Bummer

After 1 year of use... One of my top 5 most useful apps. Gives me exactly what I need to keep records on my vehicles.

Just what I was looking for.... Perfect for the mileage tracker. The only other feature I wud recommend adding is the maintenance being performed on the vehicle. That will make this auto tracking complete.

Very Useful. I never trust the digital gauges in vehicles so wanted an app to track my MPG's. The free version of Road Trip is extremely useful & handy when it comes to tracking fuel mileage.

road trip lite is great!. I really like this app. helps me visualize my driving habits. I would also like to see the full version come down in price a dollar or two! i'd def. get it!

Great for my scooter that is in km - converts to MPG!. My scooter odometer is in km, settings switched to convert it to mpg. Its exactly what I wanted, I'm considering paying for the full version so I can back up my info. Easy, handy and quick app to imput and view stats. Nicely done.

Great App. Great app if you just wish to track fuel mileage. Especially like the direct keypad entry instead of the ridiculous wheel.

Best lite mpg. This app features the quickest data entry and unlimited data for gas. I will later upgrade to track all my vehicle expenses. Great Job on the ui!

Just me?. I dunno if it's just me but the mpg it gives me is WAAAY off... 38 mpg in a truck?! No way. And I am very accurate with the numbers I type in as I do it at the pump when I'm fueling up.. Seems like when u don't fill the tank is when the numbers get all screwed up..

Used app for 5+ years. App worked well. Used it for the life of my car.

Great app!. I love how easy it is to use this app. Type in the miles, gallons, and price of gas and it does the math and keeps a record of it! At a glance I can see my mileage for every fill up I've entered. I'm very happy with this app.

I wish there was a way to give it less stars.. This is a good app for the old trash can. Worthless. If you like the apps that you put on your phone to serve a purpose, I recommend finding a different app. This one really is a waste of memory space.

Does not do everything it says in description.. I got this app as a test for whether I should get the $6.99 version. There are many features described in the details that do not exist. One is that I can not add another car. Guess I'm not paying for the $6.99 version.

Tried it...now buying full version. Super easy to use, love the graphs. Tried Gas Cubby but sticking with Road Trip. I have had it for about 5 months and will be buying the full version.

Great gas tracking app. I used to track my mpg the manual way, but this handy app let's me roger about that. It quickly let's me track how my mpg fluctuates and let's me see how often I refuel and for how much. One of my most frequently used applications!

Great app. Love it, might upgrade so I can add my truck. Easy to use.

No trip odometer option. No option to use your trip odometer and start at 0 for each trip. Only works with actual odometer mileage.

Doesn't do everything it says it will. I was testing this prior to buying to full version to test the interface. The main thing I was looking for was entering my daily mileage info, which it says it does, unfortunately it was a bit misleading. At least it was free to try.
