Please fix this formerly great app!?. I use Calc tape constantly on my computer, and have previously enjoyed using it on my iPhone as well. I am on iOS update 13.3.1, and now if I move to another app and then come back to Calc tape, it has crashed. It just sits there with the spinning circle, and says, “Loading”, indefinitely. So it’s pretty useless. I’ll keep checking, and will change my review after the app is repaired. Thank you!

Best calculator app around. This calculator app is absolutely wonderful! You can have several different documents of data going at once. You can also write notations next to each calculation/entry to help clarify your thinking. I use this app every day, and the curser us always very accurate. Best of all, you can go back to change or correct input values anywhere in the document, and the app automatically recalculates the total without having to even press enter. I would recommend this app for long, complex computations, as a bank account ledger, or as a simple way to track your day to day spending.

Pretty neat. Very handy

Highly efficient as a slideover companion. EDIT: If I add CalcTape as a slide over, or a new split screen, it just gives me a light blue empty box. The only way to use it is to start it in full screen and add another app in split screen. Slide over does not work at all. Split screen only works as started above and then only if it’s given a bigger chunk of the screen. It looks like the best calculator is not updated anymore. Take away two more stars. Please fix this??? Thought I had a great calculator until I found this one. Just finished filing taxes with TT, and having CalcTape in slideover mode is the perfect companion. Deductions especially require lots of totals. One tap easily places the most recent total onto the clipboard to carry it back to the tax app. The multiple tapes can be saved to Dropbox with all the other documentation. They can be used as templates for next year as they are easy to edit. Usually use a simple spreadsheet but abandoned it this year. Love the ability to start with a standard keyboard and customize it to have exactly what is needed. Three easily selectable keypads are better than one. I have added CalcTape to my iPad essentials list. EDIT: It's crashing frequently when used in slideover mode on iPad. I had to take away a star for this.

Trouble. I have an iPhone. I have lots of trouble getting this app to work. The screen always goes blank. I contacted the provider and got no help. Don’t waste your money if you have an iPhone.

Love. It.. I bought this app for both my ipad and my Motorola phone. It is fantastic.

Great app!. I too use this app constantly. Recently mine will black out for a second and then come back. It hangs up especially when I use the % sign. Just started recently. Help-please see what is wrong. I don’t want to have to get another calculator- I love this!

Buggy Calc Tape App. If it works its a useful app. Prone to crashing and locking up...

How to switch language???????. I don’t understand why the first language appeared is not English . Don’t even know how to change it back since I do not understand any single word in the app.

At first I gave 2 stars, now it’s 5 stars. I have been using CalcTape for over 10 years and paid for the key a couple of times after losing them. I first recently gave 2 stars because I was having a problem with editing calculations that would send the cursor to the very bottom of the page as I typed in new edited figures. Now I’m giving 5 stars because that glitch cleared itself up somehow. I have no clue how, and it wasn’t a glitch due to me not knowing how to use CalcTape. I am fully familiar with CalcTape. I truly enjoy this app. It is excellent for figuring out my budget in the most simple, uncluttered terms. Most other apps try to put too many functions and pages in for my taste. CalcTape is the best. I even recommend it to people I know. A few are using the paid version just like I am using. Thanks!

Fantastic Calculator App!. I love being able to write text on the page. I love it syncing via iCloud to all of my devices, mobile and desktop. I love that it keeps previous calculations & notes for future reference. An easy layout, pleasing to look at too. Thanks!

Couldn't do business without it. I've been using this app from the very beginning and always loved the "ten key tape" aspect of it. And the ability to attach notes, and quickly text or email it to someone makes the ability to give my vacation rental quotes to a customer a several second breeze. Thanks for all your fine work on this amazing digital machine.

Excellent calculator!. Love this app. I especially like and find very useful the tape that allows you to see all the numbers and the option to add text on the side of each figure.

Love this app. Great app. I purchased CalcTape in 2012 and it remains one of my favorite and most useful tools. It is powerful and flexible, has an uncluttered design, and is intuitive to use. I really appreciate its "editable tape" that lets me change entries after I make them. Not only can I correct "typing" errors, but I can also see results for different values without needing to re-enter an entire calculation. I highly recommend this app.

YAY CURSOR BUG FIX!!!!. TYSVM for fixing the cursor issue! I couldn’t edit anything for days and I was about to search the App Store for another calculator until I saw the update become available. So glad that didn’t have to happen because I have used this calc app for yearssss! ❤️

Crash!. Amazing app but keeps crashing on iphone X

I like it. I like being able to annotate my calculations. Seeing all inputs on a virtual ‘tape’ means having correct figures more frequently.

Simply excellent!. This app works really well and more importantly the developer truly cares. In the previous update the customized changes wouldn't be retained upon quitting the app. So I went to the developer's website and reported the problem. Soon I received an email from the developer who acknowledged the problem and said that it would be fixed in the next update. Guess what? That problem is now fixed in the current update. Thanks!

Love It. I have used the previous version as well as this version, and adding notes is a cool feature. But the most amazing feature that I have not seen in any other tape calculator is the ability to scroll up, change a value in the list and have it automatically recalculate the result. The only negative thing I can say is that the old interface was prettier to me. But Apple went the same way and these developers simply followed suit:)

Stuck. Please update for IOS 13 It stuck can not write on description

CalcTape. App def recommended. The only issue I’m Having is not able to write text. next to my numbers in iOS13. I wrote support few weeks ago and they said it would be fixed but so far no fix and I am not able to add text next to the numbers I input. I tend to use this app for budgeting. As of right now it is a fail. It’s no different then any Calc atm. Once they fix the text issue next to the values, then it’ll be 5 stars...I don’t fully understand why it doesn’t work atm or why they can’t implement an easy fix. Idk... 5 stars once I can add text...

Editable Paper Tape (Mac & iOS) w/iCloud. An editable paper tape calculator that is so simple to use. And you can add notes in the document. Apple's stock calc has always frustrated me. I used another paper tape calc on my iPhone but they did not have a Mac version. But I kept searching periodically and alas I found CalcTape. Desktop & iOS versions with iCloud sync. You can save individual documents for different calculations & recall, use or edit later. You can even customize the layout and add a 'My Button' specifically for you needs. Highly recommended!!

My Favorite, Has Some Bugs. Hands down this is the best calculator/add a machine tape product available, and the desktop version is a great sidekick to the mobile version. There are some issues where the cursor will automatically jump to the bottom of the screen when editing entries.

Nice PC port. I've been using CalcTape on Windows PC for about five years and think it's absolutely fantastic. I paid $7.99 for it. I'm pleased to find that it's also available for iOS. The iOS version auto saves your entries whereas the PC version must be saved manually. However, this port loses a star because it's a bit clumsy to use. The keyboard button should not move when a redo is possible. All icons should remain fixed. I think more could be done to reduce the amount of space the menu bar and file title bar uses. I know it may be challenging given the very limited space on the iPhone 4 screens but it's not impossible IMO. I also think that when selecting a file the keypad should not automatically appear. The keypad/keyboard toggle should behave like most toggle switches in iPhone apps. In this app you have to press 123 or ABC to select one or the other. For example, if you press 123 and the 10 keypad is already selected then it will not switch to the keyboard as you might expect. I might appear to be very picky, but it's just that I've become so accustomed to the PC version.

Small but marvelous. I am so happy the developer continues to maintain and improve this little gem. I’ve used it for years now.

Now useless after iOS 13 update. I really loved this app but all my saved files in calctape are now “bricked”. The cursor won’t go anywhere in the file except to the top or bottom. Can no longer click into the file to update. Tried creating new files, no better luck. Tried deleting and reloading app, no resolution. Disappointing to have put all this work into files that are now non-functional.

Great app & even better developer!. This is one of the few apps that I use every day for personal & professional purposes. I can honestly say that it is the best calculator/note-taking app in the App Store. Customer service by this developer is excellent. When I had issues & questions with the previous update, the developer walked me through every step of fixing the problem. Every time I contacted him, even when I just wanted to know when the next update would be released, he responded within a few hours. Great product & great customer service!

Best calc app hands down. I've been using this app for years. I have it on my iPhone and my PC. The tape feature is invaluable and very well done. I’m surprised more people don’t use this app. I’m glad the developers keep updating it. Please add a widget for iOS 14 so we can access the calculator without opening the app.

Great with a few problems. I love using this app, I basically use it as my bank register to keep track of finances. Overall it’s great! However, it shuts down which can be annoying, and I’m still not sure what button it is but I have accidentally deleted my entire calculation page with one button quite a few times which is also very annoying.

The A/C red button is in the wrong place. I love this app but every time I want to add words to label or add number I have to keep clicking the keyboard or tape buttons that are right next to the red A/C clear it all button. Too many times have I lost months of data that I’ve entered over time because that red button is in the wrong spot. This red button needs to be at the button of the selections so there is no way to hit this button by mistake. I’m frustrated and hoping you will read my post to make some positive changes.

Not responding. I have use this app for years and loved it. I don’t know why but all seven stopped working. I’ve deleted it and added it again and nothing seems to make it work. I hope they fix this but because I really loved this calculator.

Calc tape. This app worked great for keeping a running tally my checking account...UNTIL IT SIMPLY QUIT. For no apparent reason, the app quit working and dumped 2 months worth of records. This app is LESS THAN WORTHLESS and any current users should discontinue use and try to screenshot the work they’ve already done before it happens to them too. I CAN THINK OF NO GOOD REASON TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING ELSE FROM THOS DEVELOPER.

Great help in Tax Worksheets. When approaching tax filing deadline and not near a computer the line by line note annotations saved previously and emailed calc tape CalcTapes helped me identify a mistake on tax form’s many manual lines correct it avoid a penalty for underpayment of tax just before the midnight filing deadline.

Great!. I’ve used this app for a long time. I rarely write reviews but the app outstanding. I use it to keep track of my checking account balance.

Doesn’t work for iPhone X ios11. CalcTape does not work for ios11. Just give you a loading screen. No access to press anything.

Dissatisfied. This app used to be the best Calcu , but now based my experience can't stay open when I go back after opening it.. It crashes non stop and huge inconvenience

Best app. This is the best app that i ever use for calculating and managing my account for years.

No longer works in the latest iOS update.. Please update this app. The latest version has the cursor locked in the top left corner, leaving you unable to edit the tape. This bug effectively renders the app unusable. Please fix this, I don’t want to go back to using Digits.

Needs Update for iPadOS 15 Split Screen. The keyboard hogs the entire lower part of. The screen when in split-screen mode. Please update. This is otherwise a GREAT tape calculator.

This is an outstanding app!!. I use it every day for all my finances. They need to make a “do you really want to clear” button instead of instant clear button. I have erased screen so many times by mistake.

Long time user. Great app!. I have this app on all my iOS devices. It's one of the first ones I install. Not only can you see the list of calculations but you can use them and export into various formats, even html, cool! I haven't used or found another like this app especially any without a clutter highly advanced scientific functions that I can't use ever. Thank you for maintaining this app for so long! That's rare. And greatly appreciated. You should add a way to donate, just small sums for a coffee or a beer. No nag screen, just in settings. I'd donate periodically because I've used the app for so long.

Sensational app, couple of feature requests. Absolutely fantastic app, well written and easy to use with almost all features required Couple of feature suggestions however Would like to be able to swipe left/right between results, also swipe the calculator buttons upwards to resize them to similar size as Apple Calc, in landscape mode show the results to the right of keyboard (and swipe these left/right also), and lastly show the generic Apple GSM signal, carrier, time, battery etc at all times at the top of the app

One of the best apps out there.. This is great! One of the best calculator apps out there. Helps me to keep in track on many things such as itemizing various shoppings items to keeping in track on my various expenses so I can stay on budget. I love it.

Hard to improve on. This app is very nicely designed and easy to use. The developer seems to have thought of everything. Its ability to edit entries makes it better than the real paper tape calculators we used two or three decades ago. Completed calculations can be filed for further additions later. Cal. Good calculator

Used to be Good. CalcTape has been my favourite calculator app for years until iOS 15. With iOS 15 on my iPhone, the bottom row of keys: 0, ., %, = are cut off. This makes calculations frustrating as that essential row of keys are unresponsive, require multiple presses, or cause unintentional app switching. Developers have never responded to emails. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this calculator app. For a much better experience and value for money, I recommend Digits.

Haptic feedback. Doesn’t have hepatic feedback support. Iphone 11 pro unable to move cursor as haptic feedback doesnt work. 3D touch worked fine with my iphone X. But iphone 11 pro isnt working

Awesome tool. This calculator makes it easy to track the numbers you calculate. When you do your shopping list for your boss, your wife and or when you pick lunch or Coffe for your colleges. Just punch in the numbers and a comment or the name. A nice and need overview. Maybe a opportunity to save the lists would be awesome (like the iPad version). The wish for the next version: iCloud transfer from Ipad to IPhone version.

Awesome!. Works well. Lovely tape that can be copied. Easy interface. Preset tax calculation. In order to add tax, a separate Enter command would do it. Separate tapes for different calculations. Uncluttered buttons.

Best calculator ever!. I have this app in the Windows & Mac version as well as for iOS, and all 3 have proved to be invaluable. They have saved me many hours of work and have made it effortless to analyze various financial scenarios. I highly recommend CalcTape.

Decimal in French & layout. Two things to say. 1- Decimal key in French environment - a "," in place of a "." - MAY NOT RESPOND after buying the app: entering 34,56 may result in 3456 no matter how hard you press on the key!! After writing a first review about this, thinking it was an incompatibility issue (had the app in English for years on my phone & loved it, but a francophone friend of mine had just bought it on her phone on my recommendation and could not get the decimal key to respond), App support suggested to turn off the phone completely then to turn it back on. Problem SOLVED, works as a charm! But because of the initial problem can't give app 5 stars. 2- LAYOUT- wanted to say that I preferred the older version of the app. The colours (dark&light grays, ruled of white background tape area, & the confirmation request before clearing all calculations) and general appearance made everything clearer and easier to work with.

Surprisingly good and useful. Runs a "live" tape where you can have a series of calculations and can change one line and see the effect of subsequent results. Very cool.

Fabulous. Easy to use. 'Tape' is fabulous- you can see entry history. You can skip a line and start a new total. Very versatile.

The very best calculator & tape. I am so pleased with this app. It is the first application that has all of the features that I need combined into it for calculations. I absolutely love how I am able to calculate one set of items with a tape and then calculate another and another and keep them all separate from each other. This for me is a dream come true. This is the reason why I purchased an iPad.

Best calculator app I've used. I first tested out the free standard version, and I liked it so much I paid for the upgrade. It's TOTALLY worth it. I'd give it the five stars if there were folders that would allow me to store the tapes. Other than that, it's AWESOME!!

Turn on iCloud Drive. Wonderful app that allows storage across devices. The latest version now uses iCloud Drive so you must turn it on in your iOS device. Then delete the app and reinstall. You'll get promoted to use iCloud as storage and documents will show up again. Tricky but great app. Support was very responsive.

Works. Hi this app works great it syncs great fine with my iCloud account. Works great with my Mac system.

Review?. Although I really like the app and it works well, the App covers up your ability to decline to review it. That is very annoying as I do not like to write reviews. Otherwise. Works as advertised

Just what I've been needing!!!!. I give this app 5 *'s because it's just what I've been needing to do my bills with every month. I love the scratchpad and that you can edit it, email, message, copy, print, ect....this was a brilliant idea for an app. So glad I found this one!

THE perfect calculator. This is BY FAR the best calculator on the market! Incredibly useful and convenient. The editing feature is also what so many others are missing!

Excellent tape calculator. Easy to use, very intuitive and very useful business tool. My first choice for all business tasks.

Needed an old-school adding machine. Being able to see what items I've added so far makes it easier to count cash drawers and petty cash at the end of the day; easier to write a check for a week's invoices.

Great app if you need to "tape" calculations. This works really well if you need to keep track of calculations to doublecheck your results. It has basic functions as well as some limited scientific functions.

Great App. best Calc APP on the Market hands down worth 10 times the price. Like a mini Excel Sheet only better and faster. The only thing it needs is Dropbox Sync so some of your more complicated tallies can be shared between your devices.

Last Update Has Destroyed Alphabetic Functionality. The chief benefit of this app was the ability to make alphabetic notations next to the column of figures on the virtual "tape". The latest update destroyed that. Letters now appear in reverse order--right to left instead of left to right. So now this app is no more functional than many free ones (including Apple's own app iPhone app). Save your money unless the developer fixes this.

At last. I also have bought many calculator apps. I want tape and ease of use. Other ones use adding machine logic which I still don't know how to use. This is perfect.

Calc Tape. I've used this app for years and I love it. Does everything I want and never has problems.

Where did my saved calculations go?. I had spent several hours working on real estate financials, renaming and saving. Today, I opened the app and the titles are all there but all worksheets are blank. Developer advises of bug fix soon. They really did respond to my problem. I do/did like this app before last update. Will update to 4 stars when fixed. Update to above Just downloaded latest update and there they were. Just like new. Moved rating to 4 Stars. Nice app with room to grow.

SO DESPERATELY NEEDED! BUT.... I really, really hate giving 3 stars as a rating but I feel it was truly necessary this time. The first time I used this app I was seriously impressed! It didn't take but just a few minutes to understand how to change the buttons to a custom word or phrase. I needed the calculations notated since it was a medication dosage equation for an injectable vet medication that can be highly toxic if not calculated correctly. Boy, that "tape" came out SO GREAT!!! I was trying to create another calculation when... BOOM! It happened. CRASH! Oh I was SO heartbroken. Please, please find the bug and squish it! If you do that, this app should spread like wildfire. There's just nothing like it anywhere!!!

Exactly what I was looking for!!. I have tried a number of calculators but all have fallen short of what I needed. This is the only calculator that I am aware of that allows you to annotate each entry. All entries automatically appear on all devices via iCloud so that you can seamlessly pick up your calculations on another device and continue. Great app!!!

Paper Saver. Before this app I was using lots of lined paper. Thank-you so much what a time saver!

iCloud sync missing. Just bought the Mac version, and greatly disappointed to realize that iCloud sync is not working in the iOS app :( Hope that's getting fixed soon. Otherwise a five star app.

My #1 calculator. Update fix is good 😊. Thank you for fixing my favorite calculator. Functions good now. I use this every day to keep up with so many calculations and I just love the save documents feature and iCloud support.

Best Calculator I've Ever Used. I've never been more pleased with a calculator, whether physical, computer desktop, or mobile app. This is the one I go to for anything but complex calculations.

Not working - damage. This morning the app didn't work. They keeps adding all the time ( I tried to multiply and it only adds ) you can even erase numbers Please fix this asap.

Good tape calculator app. My job involves calculations on almost daily basis. I considered purchasing a tape calculator but since I found this app it has been the best solution for me. My only complaint is that sometimes it too easy to delete the data and it is frustrating to have to start again.

iCloud integration?. Don't count on it though it's in the app description... This was the main reason I bought the app. I hope it's included in future updates or removed from the app description.

The one calculator I have been needed for years!. This is without a doubt the best annotative bowl paper tape calculator. By paper tape I mean stores the information, the numbers in memory so that it can be edited, copied or pasted. This is now my go to calculator for virtually anything more than a single function math manipulation. Chas

Disappearing Data. Great app and very useful but all data inexplicably and randomly disappears, even when you've closed everything out properly. Terrible glitch and a lot of work lost.

iOS 6.0 Compatibility. Good job guys. But please make an update that suites for iOS 6.0.1 because many of us still running iOS 6. Im looking forward to meet my expectation. Thank you.

Great way to create Acct paper trail. Great find. Nice to document my expense details as I switch between calculator and bank account to reconcile my accounts. Simple to use, printable...a sweet addition to my apps.

Best calculator apps for me. Good calculators or calculator applications can do basic to complex computation, got logic control and flexibility in editing (insertions, reductions, etc). This one, calctape, can do more. Its sharing functions is outstanding, file recording is superior to most. I have been using it to large corporate transanctions and it is very admirable!! Kudos

What happened ???. I was using in my daily work but after the recent update the keyboard writes in back ward. We need fast update to fix this issue. Unless ....
