Worth less than less. Total crap

Compass App. A compass should point NORTH. Not show you where the sun is. Not my idea of a compass. Not happy with this app.

I spent way too much time, several times frustrated. IT'S NOT ME.. As i don't like to read manual, hence an Apple user, I picked up this compass over a year ago. I tried it on two iPhones and an iPad. Completely useless. It does not work. In fact, it irks me to see something so useless still in the Apple Store. I wish they'd dump applications that have one star averages that outweigh 4's and 5's combined. This is junk. Although, if you're one of those guys who like to make things work that others cannot. You'll love this. It will keep you busy FOREVER.

Wow. Stupid me bought this while on the run and not reading reviews. I'll never do that again! What junk. This is the first review I've ever written because it's really THAT bad. Doesn't work and is filled with spam buttons.

Review of this worthless application. This is a worthless application. Since it does not identify 'north' to call it a 'compass' is missleading. It should be removed from the app store and money refunded.

This app stinks.. Terrible app, not at all what I thought it was going to do. Wasted $.99.

It does not work at all as a compass. It's only the picture that resembles a compass.

Version 2.2.1 works great. Reviews of earlier versions made me hesitant, but there are so few compass options for my gen1 iPad that I gave it a shot. It works well with no problems at all. I like its simplicity (I don't need bells and whistles) and the fact that you can use it as a sun compass or a magnetic compass. Too bad that iPod Touches do not have a magnetometer, or I'd load this app on my old Touch, too. If you're like me and you want to maximize the utility of older devices rather than chucking them, this app is especially welcome. I thank the developer for maintaining compatibility with iOS 5.1.1.

Useless app. Everything is based on the sum which was not easy to track. This will not work on overcast days and nights. Same as looking up then noting the time to get a general dirention.

Do not buy this application. This application stinks. It does not work and there is no support from the seller.

Works fine. This is basically a "sun compass" and it does what is promises...shows you where true north is when the sun is shining. As a photographer I use it frequently to estimate when good lighting conditions might be present for other times of the day. The iPod Touch doesn't have a built-in magnetic compass so this is the best and only app that gives you an indication of direction.

DON'T BUY. This application is a rip. The picture of the compass is misleading. If it is cloudy out u are SOL. Let alone at night. If your life depended on using it, you better hope for a sunny day.

Compass. Doesn't work with iTouch. Don't buy it if that's what you have.

Sundial. that uses location services in google maps. It is subject to any distortions in google maps. I understood what it was when I got it and liked the design and idea, regardless of the ratings, but do not like the link to location services or google maps, so I deleted it. Appears to be a sundial for the iPhone that orients with shadow and is used for direction.

Not worth it. You have to point your iPhone to the sun for this to work. Very inconvenient. Do not buy.

Good app. This app is usefull on Apple "I" devices without gps. If you know astronomy very well, this app won't help you much. But for the rest of us, it helps! I want to use it to learn how the sun moves through the sky during the year. Find a nearby place with free wifi. Have location services turned on. The location of most wifi hotspots is known. Apple uses it to find a lost iPod touch! Once the app knows your location, it can give you accurate directions! You can go hiking ten miles from the wifi hotspot and still get accurate directions from the device. Please remember the polynesions sailed the pacific ocean just by watching the sun and stars!

Compass FAIL. Total waste of money, does not work. "North" is always random and NEVER in right direction. What a joke.

it's an orientation tool, people!. ... it is *not* a free-wheeling compass. think of it more like a "sundial" than a compass. you already know that the sun rises in the east, and sets in the west. you also know that the sun's position on the earth's latitude changes seasonally. well, this app uses that information to provide you accurate orientation. so stop complaining ... your 99¢ is better spent on this, than some artery-clogging dollar special at a burger joint.

Not just useless but annoying too. Besides that the application is almost useless, any button you touch on the screen takes you to the net trying to sell you other apps. Really annoying! Want my money back.

1 star is too much. THIS APP DOESN'T WORK ON MY IPHONE!!!! THERE IS A REASON IT HAS 11 STARS!!!

Useless Compass. Not worth the money or the effort! Very disappointing!

Works great if you bother to read the directions.. To use this app, you point the iPhone at the sun. Then the compass will be correct. It's that easy! The developer should probably add some text to the main display, saying "Point iPhone at the sun" since some people don't seem to get that. I'm deducting one star for the unnecessary website buttons.

Needs the sun. Maybe I didn't read enough but requires sun, might as well use the free app "Compass Free"

Bad joke. Doesn't even tell u where magnetic north is, you have to use the sun to figure it out. Don't download this app waste of money.
