Star Trek Lower Decks Mobile Comments & Reviews 2026
Can anyone make a fun and non-monotonous Star Trek game?. That’s all we as Star Trek fans want. Please. Pretty please. I was so happy to see a Lower Decks game. I’m on say three of playing it and the fun is already gone. You lose all of the progress you make at the end of every episode so you are starting from scratch over and over. The mini tap game is annoying as when you get past the second, level, you have no chance to get the third goal in the time due to the settings the developers put on it. I like that you can set a simulation to collect even when you’re or playing. To get there in the seventh episode, I played for an hour and still was not able to turn on the automation. Seeing how much I would have to play to afford the automation, I stopped playing and wrote this. Such potential. Wasted. This style of game is so incongruous with the show. There are so many other styles that could have been taken.
Fun game Funnier Characters. It’s like a life as a lower decker, interrupted by lower decks story telling. I laugh at the new stories. Never been seen in the hit tv show. Badgey’s plans will be thwarted. If I’m not a lower decker than who is righ guys? Guys??? Fun auto clicking gameplay with gorgeous art style. And it even runs the auto clicking while you’re away so you can come back with tons of new merit points. I’m a fan of the show and this game. Please play it if you’re a fan because you won’t regret it.
Nothing to do... No voice work at all, limited sound fx, and entire gameplay is basically just watching timers fill up. Can't zoom in, Klingons standing on officers heads because they're placed under foot as under the Klingon sprites. Can only scroll up and down leaving set pieces half off screen. Only real gameplay comes in the form of tap fast mini games at the end of each episode, but rigged to slow down massively at the third tier. Game changes the rules starting at episode 5 to get you to buy upgrades with real cash. Also resets assets every episode and nukes all progress on any given section with each. Not allot of thought went into this game, and even less is required to play it. Especially obvious when even boimler calls *Captain* Freeman just Freeman. Not a very boimler thing to do. I don't expect much from a freemium game, but there needs to actually be a game to play with things to do besides spend money. There is literally nothing to actually do here though besides wait and watch..
Could be fun but the instability is too much. This could be a fun game, however the game is very unstable. I just started to play and was at episode 4 of the introduction. The game already had crashed more then 16 times during the first 4 episodes. Trying to play an add for double merits was impossible. The moment the add was suppose to start, the screen of my iPad went black. When I had finished episode 4 and try to go to 5 the game crashed and doesn’t let me get on any longer. Every time I start the game it loads and when it is finished loading it shows the screen and crashes right away. I will keep the game for a little bit longer and will try to play again if there is an update, but if it takes too long to solve I guess I will just delete it.
A good licensed idle clicker. As a fan of Lower Decks, I am enjoying the storylines, Easter eggs, and characters. As a fan of idle clicker games, this one has pretty good play and feedback loops. It does exactly what I expected it to, and nothing spectacularly more. You could probably guess it relies thoroughly on ads, and I expect to be watching about one ad every minute during play. And sometimes the ads crash the game, especially when I’m running on cellular data. The speed-ups are more expensive than I expected, so I have only bought one; the Ferengi run the in-game market for a reason. it’s perfect to play while watching other things. Four stars is my honest high rating, because I do play it at least twice a day.
Made for fans by fans. I was worried that this game going to be a cash grab, and while you can spend real money you can also fully enjoy the gameplay by watching the few ads that thankfully aren’t forced upon you. I love how it looks like lower decks and the events are actually funny if you are a fan of trek. However I was a little disappointed that there’s no voice action, but that isn’t a deal breaker, and I do like the music that is there.
Cerritos STRONG!. Collect the crew, collect their props, GET “props”(merit multipliers) for every one of them along with other influential characters from the universe of Star Trek. Granted waiting for new “episodes” to release when you have beaten all currently available levels, gets kind of boring. But watching the crew re-enact classic Star Trek stories from all over the universe throughout Star Trek history is fun and always parodied to some extent. And while you wait for new levels there’s always a side story going on to play, even if they end up repeating at times.
Cutscenes are phenomenal, the gameplay...ehhhh.... I just started playing this game now that it's been finally released in the USA, and I am of mixed feelings: the cutscenes and main storyline are straight out of the show — absolutely phenomenal, don't change a thing — but the gameplay is a little disappointing, like that it's supposed to be there as time waster filler in between the quick segues into the animated storyline. I wish this game was more engaging (no pun intended). Something akin to the ship management Sim like FLT or an adventure game like Thimbleweed Park or The Secret of Monkey Island, not...this. Not another reskinned idle game that has you tap at intervals and meet imaginary metrics to show you the next 15 second cutscene. Dont get me wrong, the story is obviously crafted with care and reverence, I just wish the other 70% of the game was a omething equally intriguing.
No longer runs. First off, the customer service team for this game is great. They've helped me through issues many times. The game itself was fun while it worked. But I have uninstalled and reinstalled so many times, short of starting over and losing all my progress I am sort of at the point of giving up on this one. Once you get so far in the game it crashes on load, and while I realize I have an older device, my OS is still current and I'm hard-pressed to understand why every other app, including what should be much more resource intensive games, still runs just fine but this one does not. I may try starting over anyway. But if that doesn't work it may be a permanent uninstall. Short of something in my save files being corrupt I can't figure what else would be causing it to crash on every load besides messy coding that's eating up too much memory. It still gets a few stars because I love the story bits when the game actually works. It's lighthearted and silly and totally in line with the tone of the show. I just don't have any more support tickets left in me for something that's meant to be an idle diversion.
One of the good ones.. If you like the lower decks and wasting time clicking on blinky lights then this game is designed for you. It’s a clicker that has a decent amount of humor and you can tell there is actual effort involved in the dialogue. I might even spend some money after I make sure the devs aren’t going to to solicit $100 for a skin pack or something after a few hours.
CONSTANTLY CRASHING!!! 🤬🤬🤬. The game will force close when I stop playing. When I restart it will crash will it’s loading. No matter how many times I try, it will not reload. So I delete the app & redownload to start from beginning. And the cycle starts all over again. Whenever I stop playing & come back to the game it happens again where I have to delete, redownload, play, take a break, come back , constant crashes, delete, etc… I can’t get past episode 3!!! The cloud save will bring me back to where I left off but what’s the point if the only way to play is to constant play without closing the game. That’s not how idle games works.
Game breaking issue. I downloaded this game as a fan of lower decks. Like everyone else says, the writing in the game is what makes it fun. It would be nice if there was voice acting as well. However, I was only able to get to level 6 before I ran into a game breaking bug. The app kicks you out and when you try to reload it, the screen goes black at 100% and you can’t get back in. I will probably try this game again in a month once they fix this issue.
You will lose everything you’ve paid for. This game has no ability to back up or preserve any of its progress nor restore your purchases if your phone dies or you delete the app - POOF! - just like that, anything you’ve spent in this game is gone. Bear that in mind before spending anything on it. Latest update is super janky, won’t load, says there’s no internet connection even when cell and wifi are full-strength, and every other app on your phone works great. Aside from those glaring issues, this game is really enjoyable, when it’s working, and is accurate to the Lower Decks show and Star Trek canon in general. Have fun but be mentally prepared to lose all of your progress and anything you’ve bought if the game goes sideways or your phone suffers a catastrophic failure.
Game unable to load, lost all progress and purchases. The game is a good game if it loads. I had played it previously and reached moderately high level, after also purchasing some packs and reaching certain achievements with the characters. However, the game eventually stopped working for me, saying that it needed to download new assets but wasn’t online and needed to be (despite the fact that every other app and browser on my phone was able to access the internet). The only way I was able to overcome this problem was to uninstall the app, and re-download it, at which point about half the time the game successfully opened up. This meant that I lost all my progress and items purchased. at first, I was OK with this since it meant I was able to play the game again. However after eight or nine levels, the game stopped loading successfully. When starting up the app, it would go to the loading screen, spin for a while, reach approximately 25%, then fail to a black screen, and then back to the phones home screen. Now, 100% of the time the game fails to load
Fun in concept but shameless cash grab.. Not enough content to keep you going. It’s over a month since last new episodes and all the events are recycled. It’s the same two during the week and I think at most there are 8 weekend events which have started recycling since the Krampus one in mid-December. The weekend events are nigh impossible to finish without putting at least $10 into it. Worse - the weekend events are 16 tasks but other than the Wrath of Khan one there are no cutscenes after task 10. No Audio either for the stories either …. this game could have been so much more but it’s just a blatant cash grab. I’m sitting on almost 50k dilithium and nothing to do other than doing as much as I can in the events without sinking a dime. Getting new characters is useless without something to do with them. They removed my 2-star rating so that knocks them down to 1-star!
Is this the beta version?. I love the show but when I first checked out this game it felt like a copy of the office idle game. The background Elmer’s don’t move, shows a clear lack of effort. When upgrading the Klingon training area it switches from Klingons to POC women with Afros that aren’t Klingon, idk if this is a reference I’m missing or another error of the game devs. The ads feel way too long for little reward. The saving grace is the writing for the story, I got a good chuckle out of it a few times. Would love to see this be more polished with either interactive background elements or at least decent crew that don’t look the same in every training module. I feel this game has potential but it’s gotta do something different than The Office idle game.
Predatory even by idle clicker standards. I wanted to badly for this to be a good game, but unfortunately, there’s barely any actual gameplay upon which to form an opinion. The writing and art are fantastic, and they’re responsible for the two stars. The rest of the game… Events are one of the most transparent cash grabs I’ve seen in a genre of game already replete with cash grabs, and the inability to pay for any sort ad-free experience is genuinely mind boggling. Though the prices of individual microtransactions seem in line with many other games, the structure of episodes and events makes it significantly less tempting to purchase any of them; goals are often set so ridiculously high that it’s not even clear how many times you’d have to make a purchase to be able to achieve the objectives. Overall, probably better to skip the game entirely and save the storage space on your device.
Ad issues. For a game that is heavily ad-based, they need to do a better job of allowing players to block specific ads they find offensive or repulsive. After contacting customer service I was instructed to use the in-app report function within the ads themselves, but despite reporting ads for some nasty game that used vomiting, urinating, and scraping of pus-filled sores in their advertising, not only did those ads not stop playing, they vastly increased in frequency. I got sick (literally) of being shown that nastiness multiple times an hour and finally uninstalled the app entirely. Not sure why anyone thinks forcing someone to view something repugnant will result in revenue but there you have it. The game itself is inoffensive but if you don't think "gross out" humor is funny, don't bother. Edit: I already contacted customer service about this. Twice. I'm through. The app has been uninstalled. Spare me the useless copypasta response.
Honestly a nice experience. Didn’t annoy by inundating itself with pop-ups and in-app purchases. I LOVE that this game isn’t ridden with ads like fleas; Any interaction with them is done at the player’s discretion, which is a choice I respect in the face of a game that does want to draw an honest profit. Another game might make them appear by force as a marketing tool. There is character in choosing otherwise. Progression doesn’t fall off even later in the game. The steps forward feel quantifiable and impactful. Having played many idle games this does not suffer from over-complication or blind greed. The attention put into this game’s story feels more akin to a passion project that reasonably wants to make back the funding it was granted. It’s just an honest way of producing something for a large scale IP like Star Trek, and it’s nice that they did a good job of it. Also helps that it has loved characters in Lower Decks’ unique art style. It is a collection I admit to enjoy building.
Fun Lower Decks idler with terrible progression and way too many ads. Decent story moments that feel like the Lower Decks characters and make plenty of references to Star Trek lore wrapped around a pretty shameless cashgrab of an idler. So many ads and weird spikes where it feels like you can't make progress without spending real money. Needing multiple tiers of upgrades to unlock autocollection with each new level requires many watched ads and more active playing than I'd prefer. Wish the cool design and story work could shine but it's overshadowed by the shameless money grabbing.
Ads broken. Game experience diminished.. The ads, which can be essential to advance in the game, are not working. You get a blank screen sometimes with a progress bar but the ad never loads. You can tap on the blank screen and see what app is supposed to be advertising but the screen remains blank. There is no way to exit. Tapping anywhere only brings up an App Store link. There is no X to press. This app needs to establish a fallback option to allow people to exit malfunctioning ads. Otherwise the only way to play the game after a dead ad is to force quit and that’s cumbersome.
No Alternative: Pay or Wait. I love the show, so off course I looked this game up when it first came out and reading the synopsis and seeing a bit of the gameplay, it didn’t really appeal to me very much due to the “pay or wait” aspect so many of these types of games have. However, after a combination of watching a bit of the newest season, and looking for something that didn’t require much concentration or effort, I ended up giving it a shot. For the most part it’s been ideal and I’ve been having fun with it and it does work well with my busy schedule, but then I hit that inevitable point that all games like this have and I find myself wishing there was a third option besides “pay or wait” to take care of a need I have. My reason for only taking one star even though it’s such a glaring issue for me, while it is a popular opinion, it is still that: MY opinion. Also with as busy as I am as often as I am in life right now, waiting to play is something I have to do anyway, I’ll just complain about it the whole time. Lol
Fun theme, working at getting better. The game is full of good graphics, references, characters, and fourth wall shenanigans that keep the game interesting. It is a fun little idle game with plenty of story to keep you invested in your favorite Lower Deckers and their counterparts (stupid Delta shifters!). While some of the more annoying aspects of free to play are present (impulse buy ads, optional ads for hard won resources, etc) the developers are responding to ideas and complaints. Recent updates have tied a greater importance on strategic gameplay to rewards, they’ve made most of the unique stuff reasonably attainable, decreased over-scaled difficulty on their milestones, and they added fun new stories to boot.
Great story line, but definite money trap.. This game is pretty good in story mode for a basic clicking game. There isn’t a whole lot of skill or action involved other than just leveling up characters. It’s a good mindless time spender. The great story writing makes up for the lack of challenging tasks for the user to complete. My only real complaint is in the multiplayer events. It is quite impossible to gain any benefit from the side events unless you shell out some real money, and in order to get even close to the top prizes you have to buy every promo offer that gets thrown at you, leading to a spend of $15-50 for an advantage toward getting one legendary character. If you want to play the old fashioned way and just grind up characters and only spend a few bucks here and there, stick to the main story mode and ignore the other events.
Another cookie clicker clone with some genuine fun writing. I don’t do these types of games as they’re made to be addictive and this one definitely is. You need to watch a ton of ads or be prepared to shell out a lot of money on what is essentially a 99 cent game, cookie clicker. The episodes and progression get progressively slower which encourages you to play more events or watch more and more ads. I placed second in the latest 3 day event and that barely gave me a boost to the next episode. So look, if you really, really want to see a few Lower Decks jokes, which are actually pretty good, then make sure you know that you’ll need to spend hours upon hours of watching ads and grinding. For me, it’s really not worth it. But this is the state of most cell phone games. It’s just total garbage. I really give it 2 stars but want the algorithm to show this review.
Fun idle time waster. This game has funny writing, just like the show, and I find the starting parts of the episodes fun because they are just starting and you interact with the crew. A serious gripe though is, even though I made sure my phone has enough space, it crashes after only one tap. I lost out on several events thanks to that! I’m lucky if it holds on to give me the time crate bonus. Someone should look into if that is a bug, or my phone is just that crappy.
Lots of fun. Exiting the ads is a bit annoying (you have to click 3 times) and the fact to keep up on the leaderboard you need to dump money in to short events is a bit rough- I’d rather pay for the game outright then have to constantly drop into non main story characters to compete (dropped a star in rating because of this) I do enjoy the game a lot and I really can’t stop playing but these are two very annoying things that make the game less then stellar it could be really amazing- I rather drop $10 on this game- then have an equal chance w everyone else to play developers take note.
Beta software with a little Lower Decks humor. Since the developers turned off ads, this idler has been much more enjoyable. And the developers are slowly but consistently improving the game’s interface and making other tweaks to hone in on their money-making product. F2P has its limits—you can advance to part way through events and receive some rewards—but completionists will have to shell out maybe a hundred dollars a week to achieve to reward status. Moderately enjoyable atm, until the devs turn the ads back on.
Fun game, keeps me playing. Good humor which makes me want to keep playing and unlocking cut scenes. There could be more to the game, like having a bit more to the mini games other than just tapping. I like that progress is tied to episodes so it’s not just endless improvement and rebirth until you get bored. I haven’t spent any money yet and ads aren’t too bad and there are no force ads that I have run into. As far as idle games go this one is pretty good.
Puts the idle in idle games. I’m a fan of the show so I play the game. I spent a long time playing Archer before this, from the same company. Where Archer had decent card pull rates, this game seems to have a huge abundance of things I don’t want and a finely tuned algorithm to shortchange you on random pulls for things you would like. Get used to always feeling three or four cards short of two or three characters needed for upgrades in the main game episodes. I also did pretty well in the 4 day events in Archer, finishing in first several times over the two years I played that game. I haven’t come close to finishing one of the shorter duration events in Lower Decks. Seems very “balanced” to encourage you to buy an offer every event.
Disappointingly boring. As a STLD fan, I really wanted to like this game. I quit after Ep7. It took WAY TOO long to be able to automate, which wouldn’t be so bad if there was more to “do” other than waiting for circles to load, watching ads and clicking fast. Each station should have mini games or something. There should be a way to interact with the characters. Or just something else to do. This is dreadfully underwhelming. Clicking on a location should at least give some info…. Like how much to automate, rate increases per crew, something, anything. Great artwork. I’d love to hear the characters voices. Please consider engaging us more. As is… will not motivate me to spend a dime or anymore time
Great beta test.. This is a lovely game. It is a lot of fun and captures the spirit of the show well. It is, however, a beta test game. There is nothing in place to save the game so that you can play you current game on a different device. There are grayed out buttons indicating a future feature. I was considering an iPhone upgrade but I would have to start over from the beginning. I am almost finished with Episode 15. I have made a few small purchases which will be gone trying to go to a new device. I discovered this trying to play my game on my iPad. The game looks great on an iPad. But no progress will move to any other device. The developers are aware that this is an issue but don’t have saves or game center implemented yet. It should be labeled a beta test with some features not working at this time. I would also suggest that until this is working, AVOID ANY IN-GAME PURCHSES!!! If you change devices, all progress is lost.
Good idle clicker, good Trek writing, I’d pay for no ads!. It’s good for an idle clicker style game. Also love the writing, I feel like they captured the voices of the characters well. There’s elegance in the Lower Decks game being an idle clicker about menial tasks, but idle clickers only have so much depth. I want more game depth! Even one or two more things where player choice matters over waiting would be very welcome. The events are too short (or milestones too high) to the point you have no chance to earn the milestone rewards before they end without paying money. I get the ranked rewards driving people to spend, but the milestones it’s just feel bads not getting them. Maybe aim for free players earning 75% of them instead of 50%? Then I’d be more tempted to spend a couple bucks to finish them off. Besides all that, other games of this style let you buy a no ads mode for like $10-20, absolutely more than you’re earning off my ads right now. I’d totally do that for this game, but it just isn’t offered as an option!
Pay gates and Wallet Warriors. So I already left a review for this. Basically the complaint was that during events, unless you shell out money, you’re going to be waaaay back in the standings. I get it, developers want to make money. The developer responded to this review saying they were going to remedy this to make it easier for people who can’t afford to shell out $20-30 per event to get higher in the standings (means better rewards). A few weeks later I can say this was a complete lie. As a matter of fact, it is now EVEN HARDER to climb the standings. Now I can’t even place about 170th place, which means no bonus rewards period. They now PAY GATE characters that are used to automate the scenarios in the events AND they increased the levels required for each character is unlock automation. I’ll have to stick to the main story from now on and leave the events to people who don’t care about wasting money on virtual (and literal) nothings.
Fun gameplay, slow gameplay. The gameplay itself is slow by Episode 7. However, I’m playing this for the Lower Decks storylines which have been everything I’ve wanted! I wish they could have had the real voice actors instead of silence. The game sounds are all fan service for sure. The game still plays while you’re away, without the app even running, which is great. You can earn in game items by watching short adds, not bad, nothing else to do in game to pass the time while you wait for points to build up. The vent timer gets hidden by the three sale buttons, they could fix that. Overall I’m enjoying it for the Lowers content.
Great game that will take your money and rarely make you laugh. Great game with an intriguing plot. It would be funny if it wasn’t captioned and actually had the voice actors doing the skits bc it’s not the same just reading the scenarios as they play out. It’s a decent strategy game you have to pay out to get ahead. If your bored and want something to pass the time without worrying about leader boards or scores this the game for you
Here we go again…. I know I’ve written a review for this game, but it wasn’t 100% glowing so it seems to have disappeared even though they responded to it and said they’d work on making it not so pay to play heavy. The game itself is pretty, and the storylines they’ve come up with feel like they come out of the show. That’s not the issue. The issue is that I have never seen a game so crafted toward sucking as much money out of people as possible (not even gambling games, at least with those there’s a CHANCE of getting something back). You really can’t progress in the game or the “events” without spending sometimes upwards of $100 (that’s per a 3 day event and won’t carry over to permanent upgrades). It’s almost like the game was designed specifically to trick little kids into spending as much of their parents money as humanly possible before they notice. You guys need to do better. Go look at Adventure Capitalist, the granddaddy of these idle clickers, to see how progression can be done without feeling like you have to spend a week’s pay to actually move ahead. As it stands, the game is predatory at the least at not a good use of the Star Trek licensing.
Kinda fun, but incomplete and buggy. This is a fairly fun idle game that’s a slight variation on this type of game (I call them zig-zag games, not sure if the genre has a name). But after a while progression gets very, very slow, which makes it boring. It seems to be incomplete, too, because if you go into the settings, about half the options are disabled. It doesn’t even connect to Game Center, which is a very basic thing for games to do. There are some interface bugs to where some elements will be behind others and you have to scroll to just the right place to interact with them. Plus, there are arrows that will scroll you to something you need to collect, or whatever, but they get stuck on the screen and will take you to a building that is not ready to collect. That gets really annoying because they flash, in an attempt to get your attention, and you basically can’t get rid of them. Don’t even bother with events. Only the top 20 players get a decent reward and you won’t get anywhere near that unless you spend lots and lots of money. Even if you start an event the moment it becomes available and have the multiplier from watching ads going the whole time, and do nothing else in life but play this game, you’ll still not be anywhere near the top 20. They need to break it down by percentages, rather than just the top 20 players. As more people play this game, casual players will have absolutely no hope of ever getting anything from events.
Casual game that doesn’t stifle the fun. I like that you only have to watch ads if you want free currency. Of course there are micro transactions a plenty but the game will tempt you with good deals daily which makes it hard to resist. Also, if you’re a fan of lower decks this game is fantastic, making great callbacks and actually give the characters the energy they have on the show. Only obvious drawback is it’s pay to win, but you’re not really trying to win anything so you are only paying to speed things up significantly.
Cute idle clicker, but crashes a LOT.. Pretty standard idle clicker gameplay, but the look and writing actually really nail Lower Decks, which is a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately the game is pretty unstable. You frequently need to try several times to get through story portions because the app tends to crash in the middle. After Episode 3, nearly every story scene crashes the app at least once, and in some cases I have had to restart the app 5-6 times to get through an episode ending. Trying to watch adds for a dilithium bonus also crashes the app a lot. The limited time event that began today (December 28) crashes the app immediately every time.
Would be 5 stars but…... I love this game. As a lifelong Trekkie I feel like this game captures the spirit of Star Trek perfectly. The references are great and the storylines are actually worth reading. However, if you don’t spend money you have zero chance of getting a leaderboard prize. It would be nice to have leaderboard for premium players and for those of us who don’t have that luxury. Frequently you stall on a milestone and unless you spend latinum you aren’t gonna get the prize. And it’s usually the 10th prize, the one you’re playing to get. I get a lot of quests such as upgrade this character or holo sim and then the game won’t give me the chips I need. You can get the chips if you spend money but that’s not an option. I’ve had quests sitting for 2/3s of the event because it won’t give me the chips I need. No ads, no trades. You can use the event currency to buy chips but the chips I need never seem to pop up. I watch alot of ads with this game, which means that if I’m playing I’m usually doing something else to distract from the ads. That takes away from the game a lot. An affordable no ads option would be nice. 10 bucks is alot to spend. Other than that I really enjoy this game. Good job staying true to Star Trek!!
Do you like ads? Do you hate sleep?. I love the story throughout the game play. That’s honestly the only reason I’ve been playing as long as I have. But the game is incredibly ad heavy, and you can’t get anywhere in the game without watching a ton of ads. It’s to the point where I watch more ads than I play the game. Building your resources is extremely slow unless you spend money. Lots of money. Constantly. And don’t plan on sleeping or working if you want to keep your place in the events, otherwise you quickly lose your rank and won’t be able to recover. Overall, not worth your time and money unless you want the storyline, and even then it’s not canon.
Play for the storyline. The storyline and graphics are fantastic. But playing the game itself is slow. It’s just a grind game. There needs to be a way to go back and view the storyline comic pages. Too often I click through the reward crates and accidentally click through the next comic page before I can even read it. And the repeated events don’t show the comic pages again once you’ve been through them. The special events are also extremely hard to win at. I have no idea the ending of any of them despite playing them over and over.
Enjoying It!!. I have to be careful about letting it take over my consciousness and free time, especially the Events, but I’m getting there! Update : Still enjoy the game but it’s getting harder and harder to advance in the special events with out purchases. Seems like the last few weeks it has gotten worse. With the abundant, lengthy ads one has to slog through, you shouldn’t have to buy ‘packs’ in order to have a chance at automating all areas. . .
Great art and solid writing, gameplay is meh. Art is fantastic, writing is also surprisingly solid for a phone game. Sadly gameplay is largely non existent and what little there is is surprisingly confusing. I also still don’t know why I can’t bind my account, everything is greyed out and I’m not willing to spend if I can’t back up my account. Ultimately I wish it was more of a game and less just multi-hour timers between pages of a comic strip, but as a fan of the show I appreciate that it actually feels like an episode of the show which is rare for phone games.
Mostly Decent…When It Works. Able to install and have the game load on a 6th gen iPad, with latest iPadOS 17.0.2. Game launches fine, with ability to get into tutorial level, but after I click the settings button and import my progress, the app consistently stops loading the game and terminates. Even after restarting the app, it consistently bombs out at 23%. Not sure what that issue is. I have no problem with having ads in the game. Wish there was none/less of the risqué ads, showing off T&A, since I usually play this out in the public. Playing on iPhone is doable but not desirable. Too much to see all at once. No way to zoom that I can see, which makes hitting moving objects more difficult. Too many ads, including occasional NSFW ones.
Better than Monopoly Go.. Fun game. Very enjoyable. P2W, but that’s to be expected. The only real problem is the Monopoly Go ads. To get bonuses you can sometimes choose to watch ads. If you end up watching a Monopoly Go ad, you have a fifty percent chance of having to restart the game. Why? Because after the ad, it brings up the title card and the exit button. The exit button is embedded in the title card and the entire title card is a link to the download page. So unless you hit the x perfectly, you are going to the Monopoly Go download page. Sometimes I will be trying to hit the x like 30 times, and being brought to the download page every single time. So, yeah. I’m just going to avoid these ads until the stupid Monopoly Go one cycles out.
Decent fun game with annoying ads. This game is pretty fun other than the ads that try and fake you out or have multipley screens post “x” to close the ad that try and redirect you to a website or the AppStore after declining the app offer. That’s the main annoying thing. It also leans a little heavy toward pay-to-play. If you aren’t putting a lot of time in, it’s difficult to rank high on the leaderboards. A 6 second ad is enough to know if you want something or not. If they can stick to that it would be a great game. YOther than those annoying things it’s a fun game and the story concept makes it worth while.
More stars if I could ever play again. I have now lost two cloud saved games. I get to a certain point and all this game does is crash and die. I love Lower Desks and I really enjoy the story lines but now even uninstalling and redownloading no longer makes this game work. Which is too bad. It was a few minutes of fun on my lunch break but it’s just not worth the hassle to try to even play anymore. Log in seven or eight times before I get past the counter screen and before I can really do anything game crashes again Can’t send a message to developers because if I lucky enough to get to a games screen (happens about once in 15 tries) it’s only up a second or two before crashing again. This means I can’t get to the settings or contact us part!!!! Too bad I enjoyed it while I could
So far so good!. I didn’t know if I’d like this game because I don’t normal play mobile games, but I literally had lower decks playing on my tv when an ad came up on my phone so I downloaded it! On episode 7 now and although this genre of game can get a little monotonous, they’ve done a good job at pacing missions and goals and unlocks to keep it interesting. The animations and design are awesome, like the show, and the writing is great and keeps in the spirit of the characters. The missions/story/collectibles are mostly accurate to the Star Trek lore, which is a plus lol If you like Star Trek/lower decks, definitely give it a try!

Great game. Never played a game like this before. I’ve always avoided them. I’ve always wanted a first person shooter a Star Trek game. But this game is awesome.
Addictive. I cannot put this game away. It has taken over my life!! Adds are very annoying and so repetitive but the game is brilliant.
Don’t waste your time. Amazed that this company was able to get the rights for the charters. What a total waste of time. You click. Then wait… then click… then… click. Wow. How exciting and original…. Not.
Super easy idler, might tide us over until next season. Great to see the LD crew, easy and enjoyable
Get rid of the Ads!!. The amount of ads you have to watch to get boosts is OBSCENE!! It really really kills the vibe - you really should consider getting rid of the ads because surely you’re making enough revenue off the in app purchases.
Way too many ads!. The amount of ads is beyond painful… especially having to pay to win events. Do yourself a favour and do not download
It’s aiight. It’s a decent clicker, with optional ads. Once you get past the first half hour of smashing the screen things slow down a bit - in a good way.
Loving the Lower Decks game!. Having a fun time playing this game. Love everything Star Trek!
Simply does not load, stuck on loading screen.. The app does not load on my phone nor the iPad. Not happy. It freezes at 9% on the loading screen.
Great tv show, lame game. You have a great chance to make a great mobile game but just made a tapping game, may I suggest having actual missions, for example; fixing the ship, going off world missions, fighting teams, you can mix up mechanics from other games like whiteout survival, tasks like among us, special season events, puzzle games etc.
It’s ok. It’s an ok game, nice Star Trek theme on top of an already overused genre of games. Difficult to progress without spending money or watching a lot of lengthy ads.
Good stories. But money hungry. It’s good animations. Held by familiar gameplay based around no skill and waiting.
Solid time filler. Good way to pass time and then set and forget. Love Star Trek
So far so good. Easy enough to play. The humour is true to the show. Really big time sink style game
So addictive!. I can’t keep my hands of this game! Super fun, with a great story. The game really captures the show well.
Good fun, great story. Like all similar games this may be repetitive, but it brings a funny and interesting story to the mix which kept the enjoyment up for ages.
Good game but needs more. I love all the new characters that have been added but wish it was easier to get them. The in app purchases are crazy expensive for what you get. I am a Star Trek fan, but can play the game easily for free with patience. I would love if we could earn more free chips of the Epic characters. And more ways to earn latinum for free. I want to keep playing please! 😎
True to the series. A good way to idle some time away
Quite funny and good fun!. Recently downloaded the game and I have been quite enjoying it! The story is intriguing, and the interactions between characters are amusing. There’s also no ads unless you choose to watch a video for extra items.
If you want to watch endless annoying adds - this game is for u. To do anything in this game requires watching a non stop stream of annoying adds. If you are happy to watch 6 minutes of adds every time you go to play, this “game” is for you!
Buggy. Couldn’t progress due to bugs. Couldn’t save profile, lost everything during a reinstall. What’s the point of copying user ID or connection ID if I can’t get back where I was?
Great Game Great Community. This game is just fun all round. Usual competition and upset regarding event leadership boards but that’s in any game. If you have any issues the devs/game support are quick to answer. It’s a tap tap game and you can advance quickly if willing to watch lots of ads. There is strategy to their events though. Upgrade wisely!
Fun.. It’s fun. I like it. It’s not to involved to I can get it it when I remember to.
It’s fun to pass the time. Simple game, low difficulty. Fine for passing the time in a waiting room/bus/bored type situation
Great game. I’m really enjoying this game, a little buggy but not enough to be worried about for a new game. The event has been great!
awesome. What are the coolest games I’ve played in a while
Fun game but adverts are killing the fun. I enjoy playing it but have uninstalled it every time I get fed up of the gambling advertisements.
Nice not being ganked.. Being involved in the lower decks crew is fun, and the stories are interesting. It’s nice to have a game where you’re not being ganked by bullies for “power”.
I like it. I enjoy the episodes from the game - I need to watch the show now
Lower decks. Love the game, the only problem I have is that I burn through content so quickly.
The game won’t load past level 6. I started to play this game due to the cross over with Dr Who. I have started and played this game until Lv 6 then the black wall of death. Not happy
Ads ads ads and more ads. The only way to complete this came is by watching a constant barrage of ads in order to earn currency for the game. There is absolutely no way around it unless you want to spend money to play. Some of the ads are for gambling games.
Tap tap. Mindless fun. Storyline seems like all the episodes put together but can be good to have in the background with tv or music on. Hoping I get something outta this review though.
Fun idle game. If you enjoy the animated series then you’ll enjoy the stories and jokes that make up the plots in between the bits where you have to continually upgrade your characters and buildings to progress. Gets tedious at times with the amount of crystals you need to progress though. Think of it as a game in between heaps of ads you’ll need to watch to progress if you don’t want to spend money.
Fun to play but has fake users so you never win. The main game is normal and fun but the side events are fake. There are always ‘players’ who, within 1 hour of the start of the 96 hour event, are already millions of times ahead of you. Fake players run by the system so you spend $$& to catch up.
Great fun, too many ads. The ad to gameplay ratio is way off.
Reasonable. This review (July 2023) is edited from a previous version Good storylines, albeit rather repetitive. The ‘main’ game is okay, although now I’ve upgraded characters and ship rooms, it is too easy and I just focus on the mini games. They don’t always get the balance right of making the objects you need to progress available, but it’s much better than it was. Stopping for 6-8 hours to sleep usually costs you in the rankings which is sort of annoying. But sound strategy mostly works, and sometimes I hoard latinum for a push in the next game to get ahead without spending money. In general support staff are very attentive and helpful.
One crash too many. The game itself is fun and light with a constant stream of special events. After playing for a couple of weeks however it can be repetitive. There are a lot of ads and this is where the second problem starts. No other game I play on my iPad is always certain to crash in the way lower deck crashes. I also get a message that I don’t have enough storage space to run the game without crashing. There is no apparent reason why this game needs so much space- this definitely seems dodgy to me.
Star Trek lower decks. Fun to play great for making u forget everything and just have fun
Bad game mechanics, and they should feel bad.. Game is unplayable and forces you to watch repetitive ads. Without purchasing loot crates the gameplay suffers exponential decay. It literally grinds to a halt because costs go up by 10% per turn. Cant believe Star Trek allowed their name to be attached to this POS.
Great game!. Great game! The characters are written very much like their show counterparts and enjoy a good tycoon style game.
Lower Decks!. Needs to be an option where you can pay for all the Ad watching perks permanently.
Won’t load. Tried to install twice now but won’t go past 28% on the load screen. Can’t review something I can’t try.
A good bit of fun. Compelling, I kept saying to myself, just one more level, just one more level……..
Good. Plays well everything seems to be obtainable obtainable, no issues still far
App crashes. Ever since the most recent update the app only lasts a couple of minutes before crashing and closing, making gameplay difficult
To many adds. To many adds
Too many ads. This game has more ads than Star Trek has episodes! it’s fun but the ads are just too much
Fun game, when you get to it. Don’t spend your time on this as you’ll be spending 3/4’s of your time watching homophobic and sexist ads. Gene Roddenberry is no doubt turning in his grave. The script matches the characters at least.
Nice game. There is the in game pop up of characters that would be better with audio. Plays ok.

Truth. Well I spent already $6 and still playing the game so I guess it’s not bad lol. That being said it’s just and excuse to pass those moments of boredom while eating breakfast lol .
It is the best. This Star Trek game is the best it can’t be topped and it is perfect for Star Trek fans
Awesome Game!. I love the storylines and the challenges!
Lower Decks! Lower decks! Lower decks!. Great game, pays tribute to every Star Trek series since Those Old Scientists. Fun and engaging, only game I’m playing!
Can be fun, but very glitchy. I’ve finished all the missions, so I’ve played this game enough to say that it can be fun. I typically enjoy the storyline. You won’t get anywhere in this game without playing ads, and they keep getting longer, with multiple clicks needed to close them, and that’s if your phone doesn’t almost crash at the end of ads. AND the game getting glitches that crash the app. It got so glitchy I deleted it off one of my devices, and barely play it on the other. I just logged in after 3-4 days of not playing, and couldn’t get pass a few clicks before it crashed.
Good. Good time waster
Disappointing. (1) to get anywhere with the game you end up having to watch more ads than spend time playing the game (or pay through the nose). The ads aren’t even vetted so half the time your game crashes because of them and the other half are ads that promise gameplay in other games that don’t have ads (btw, having tried many of the games advertised previously, they are nothing like advertised). (2) the stories and progression is boring at best (3) when you share such disappointments, you are given an email to voice your concerns at. The input you give is not used or listened to. Ferengi scam - but without the ferengi humour.
Ads. You watch ads for rewards just for the game to glitch after the ad but before the reward. Waste of time
Fun game and great staff. This game is a great freemium game and when there’s issues they get resolved quickly. The chapters and events are fun and drawn out of the Star Trek universe complete.
Star Trek. Fun game from a good show.
Game rewards are terrible. Unless you spend real money, this game doesn’t give out decent rewards
Great fun if you like the show!. But I actually played the game first and then watched the show which was super fun!
Fun!. Gameplay isn’t much, but the storylines are great, and it’s fun seeing the lower deckers interact with their heroes.
Fun. Mini games are the most fun.
Really? This is terrible!. This game is a huge disappointment. All you do is tap over and over and watch adds. If you are a fan of the show do not download this game. The story lines are lame, and the game is painfully repetitive. This game is an insult to Star Trek fans. Also spoiler alert they want you to buy stuff to advance. This game is 100% garbage. Do not download it do not waist your time. It is completely crap. Also this is not a great time killer. This in not entertaining. This is not fun. This app is a waste of your time and energy. Please learn from my mistake and appreciate the fact I have taken the time to write a review to warn you. THIS GAME IS TERRIBLE!
LDX:TBD. Weird and colourful! Boldly keep on boldly going!
Awesome game. I can play offline & online
So many ads. For a game that offers in-app purchases, the devs can’t seem to wrap their heads around how a properly priced micro transaction would be more beneficial than being FORCED to watch ads. It’s like they live in a bubble and haven’t seen any other successful games and how they make profits without numerous false and misleading ads for other games. I must admit, the game would be a fantastic idle experience as the stories are very well written and fit the Lower Decks universe, if it weren’t for the fact you see more ads than gameplay or stories. It’s also quite frustrating when you accidentally tap through a panel in a story and miss a main point, which you will never be able to see again unless you start playing all over again. Especially frustrating for seasonal or one time events where there is absolutely no way to revisit the story. So while the storytelling is the strongest part of this game, the devs have made it feel less important than watching ads. Now we wait for the canned “please email us here” response, like it makes anything better. Lip service won’t improve your game, doing anything that the majority of people are suggesting probably would.
Not too bad. Decent story and good LD style writing. More or less kinda expected.
Watch ads, ads and more ads.. The title says it all. A stupid game where the only way to play is watch ads.
Crashes constantly (updated April 11). For the last month or so it takes multiple tries to load the game, never mind when I try to get to the current event. Right now, not worth the space on your phone. Edit: the game barely loads anymore. Any time it does, I can’t click on anything without it crashing. For fun the other day I kept opening it until I could actually access the current event. Took over an hour. And even then it would crash after the event loaded and I clicked on anything in it.
Surprisingly addictive. I really enjoyed it. It actually calms me
GLITCH. Started out great, a little boring, but few technical issues. Four days ago while attempting to begin a mini game, the game crashed. In an attempt to fix the issue, I removed the app and reloaded, but found out there’s no way to log in. No response from support after two requests. Went to East Side Games site, no mention of the game existing.
Great Game. It’s a great game but would be better if you could form teams or have friends to help with certain events etc. Also would love to replay completed episodes to watch characters again
Sort out the ads. There’s some sketchy ads and no one knew what I was talking about when I went to tell them. Kinda scary.
Lower Decks ! Lower Decks !. The stories are funny and you can do pretty well without spending money
Too many glitches. It was an enjoyable game, until it reset everything back to Episode 1, and I lost everything I had collected. Glad I didn’t spend any money on this
Fun game!. Huge fan of lower deck and enjoy playing this game.
Game is fun, too many ads. I’d like this game more if sone of the ads one had to watch to do well weren’t skeevey
Can’t get into app this morning. Having problems getting into app
Save ST:LD. Heart breaking that this game is all we will Have left soon of this wonderful show
Great game. Great game
Bit repetitive but fun. Good game over all, it’s fun and the dialogue is really fun.
Great game but awful adverts. Great game working with fun characters and stories. Unfortunately free players like myself must endure repetitive adverts with away to select subject matter through options. I’m frequently shown gambling adverts for solitaire this and bingo that. I honestly put my phone down and walk way from them while they play. Any chance we can get choices in advert types? Best wishes.
The stories are cute, but the ‘game’ is just hitting buttons, don’t get the point?. Big fan of STLD, watched all the episodes and a general ST fan, TNG, DS9, VOY, ENT, TOS, SNW, Orville (the unofficial one). Discovery isn’t ST. Ok so I played the game for about an hour. The stories featuring all the LD crew, and a few officers are cute, lots of callback humour and in universe gags etc, the dialogue suited to each character etc, sound effects fun and canon. It’s basically a click thru comic strip. With some baffling tap on symbols mini game interrupting the comic strip story. After an hour I still had little insight as to what the point was collecting ‘merit points’. It feels like a ‘press lever get pellet’ “game”. Seems a little bit of a wasted opportunity with the IP. It’s not a game. It’s a comic strip with some rock paper scissors resources mechanic interrupting it. Also, even if the mini frame by frame comic ‘strip’ is cute at first, i can see how it will get dull, as overall there’s no real sense of any involvement in decision making that would advance a plot or any long term permanency RPG character building. Perhaps STLD game would have been better off as a plot driven adventure game with decision points, conversation trees, or say, diplomacy, and a serious adult plot with in universe tools that can be used to solve in universe problems that have realistic relevancy that is satisfying to solve. Maybe open world where one visit other worlds within the ST canon. Have the chars move about on screen exploring locations etc, Star Trek ‘hidden evil’ did this. ST timelines did this way better, before they went the usual maddening route of micro transacting you to death. Sadly, another wasted opportunity and another “game” in a long line of ST games that are a touch patronising to adult fans who want a serious game that stretches ones brain. One just gets a feeling of ‘playing’ this after a while of “okay… so what?”
Ad heavy game. Get ready to spend more time watching ads than playing. Ad bonus doesn’t work for doubling badges so don’t bother. No in game support to fix ad issue. I’d rate 5 star plus if it we not for the ads. Give the players a chance to buy an out from the ads and you will retain way more players who may be willing to spend real money on the game. Game idea is sound. Good game. Ads completely ruin it.
Best game ever!. Awesomeness! Keep it coming!
Fun but need more episodes.. I like the game concept, I love the story lines and mini games. Maybe it’s time to escape the Holodeck and do more lower deck missions on the Cerritos and other planets. I have done all the episodes a long time ago. Keep them coming!
Great game. Fun game
So many bugs. I love this game so much but it is constantly crashing and gets to 93% and closes. Please address this as it has been months and multiple updates have not fixed it.
Issues. Technical issues not addressed during weekend mini game
Love it. Fun little stories.
Fun game. Story is pretty fun, gives bite size new story through each level. Game play is standard idle game style. Quite a bit of micro-transactions but not needed to play. The game and events give good stuff if you’re a little patient. Loved the show and am enjoying this game
Ok. It’s a fun enough time waster, ads aren’t too intrusive, but it’s super hard to advance if you, like me, aren’t willing to spend money on it.
Ahhhh. Fun but confusing as all heck.
All the Star Trek references you could want. I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy this style of game, but all the little references and characters keep me coming back.
Lower Decks!!. Addicting
Fun game. If u start an event at the start I can get pretty good rewards
Fun but very repetitive. Game needs more to it than it has if you like the show you will like the game it has lots of talking just not much for playing
Star Trek!. A lot of fun, generally a make-number-go-up game but honestly I like it, the weekly challenges are fun and if you are someone who likes Star Trek and want a de stressing phone game I’d recommend it
Adsterra is the most preferred ad network for those looking for an alternative to AdSense. Adsterra is the ideal choice for new sites with low daily traffic. In order to advertise on the site in Adsterra, like other ad networks, a certain traffic limit, domain age, etc. is required. There are no strict rules. Sign up!
Incredible dedication to instability. This game likes to crash frequently, especially after updates. Watching an ad or trying to move between events and the main game are the most frequent causes. What’s weird is that as time goes on, whatever version is current seems to crash less and less, and when it seems relatively stable a new update is pushed that makes it crash more often. I swear, after every update it starts to randomly crash whenever I push any button. How can something this simple be this unstable. It feels deliberate.
Great content, ad overload. Fav characters with entertaining storylines! However, you can’t get to certain characters in events unless you watch ads 24x7 or pay. I don’t mind watching occasional ads to support a cool game, but it’s ad overload. In addition, I had two instances in a row during the Gorn event where I watched an ad, it displayed the Reward Granted notice, but it wouldn’t exit the ad. I had to kill the game to get out of it and didn’t get the reward.
If you like this kind of game, this is one of those…. And if you like “Lower Decks,” but have no idea what this type of game is, it’s probably STILL worth checking out. While I am entirely unqualified to intelligently discuss game mechanics and this sub-genre of gaming, I do know a thing or two about Trek. And I can assure you the show’s unique tone is perfectly captured here. Badgey says play it!
Solid writing, meh gameplay. I’m not playing this game because I NEED to play another idle game, I’m playing it because Lower Decks the show is funny and the game delivers on that as well. As to the gameplay, it’s just another idle game. It’s what you’re expecting and they don’t deliver anything really notable or different than other idle games, which isn’t to say it’s bad in any sense, it’s just been done before.
Bad Ad experience. The game itself is fun and has great character moments. The ads really make it a frustrating experience. Despite having muted sounds and having the phone set to silent mode, some of the ads still play audio. Not all ads follow through with the rewards. But most disappointing? I reached out to the email that keeps being posted in the review responses but didn’t get a reply. Where’s the customer service?
The ads are unbearable. I love the game but you can make almost no progress if you don’t watch the ads. I have no problem with normal length ads. But the ads that n this game are so very long and are mainly for two games that are absolutely terrible. Please get some different and shorter ads. Or at the very least have a paid for ad free option please I feel like I spend more time having to watch the ads than actually playing the game. Please shorten the ads they are driving me crazy!
Fun game just not much to it, but I like that.. Overall, the game is pretty enjoyable easy and laid-back. I really enjoy seeing what characters from the Star Trek Universal will be showing up, and I love the simplicity of the game. I played a few games with a lot more to do, and played with a bunch of other people, and I’m just tired of those. I like that I don’t have to interact with others, and just play this at my leisure. If you’re looking for an easy game with not much effort, this is it.
I Love Lower Decks. That’s why I want to like this game. But I have seen 10 ads in a short amount of time. And then you still ask me to do the “Pay to Win” events and I always give something to a game if I like it, but this one makes it hard to like. I don’t mind charging for boosts or upgrades, but then those go away and the money is wasted. Then you’ll be asked to buy them again for the NEXT event. It’s sad. I don’t think I’ll continue with this game if it stays with SO MANY ads and “Pay to Win” events.
Idle game with (mostly) quick progression. I love the show, and the game does feel like episodes. I did hit a progression snag in chapter 5 and had to dump Latinum to get enough Dilithium to finish the one upgrade milestone, which was frustrating and something that could happen again. Resist the temptation to upgrade until you can use it to check off a mission requirement. Otherwise, it’s a fun Lower Decks number-go-upper
Lower decks support is fraudulent!!. So the gameplay is amusing and I have been spending some in game money to better the experience. However I was sent a special offer for an event that was 12 bucks. But after agreeing to purchase it charged me 41 dollars. I reached out to their support and they are unwilling to make it right. I don’t mind spending money on a game as long as it’s my choosing, however they failed due to an in game bug on their purchases. I will be deleting this app and warn all players to watch what they charge you for. Don’t download!!
Cute and true to LD but so many ads!!. Definitely feels true to the show. I’ve been enjoying the game since there is no PVP. That being said there are so many ads that you literally spend more times watching the ads (minimum of 2 to 4 30 second ads every time you login) then playing the game which is supposed to be an idle game. Also do you want notifications every 15 minutes because you will get 2 up to 4 if an event is running regularly including the one I just got.
Okay. Kind of confusing. It’s not always clear which resource you should upgrade. Some of the upgrade options don’t tell you what thru are doing. The app needs a legend for the various icons to tell you what they do. For example, Stevens shows 1.61x -> 1.77x. But what is it upgrading?! That icon is used nowhere else in the game that I can find. It’s not the computer chip icon. Also, there’s a number of people you can upgrade but their area is not in the game and the icons don’t match any area.
Clearly written by Trekkies!. So the gameplay can be slow and tedious once you get past the first few levels but taking part in the events and focusing on leveling up characters can help immensely. What keeps me coming back to this game are the storylines and in-jokes that feel like they came right out of the show and fit Trek canon so well. I’ve legit laughed out loud at some of the dialogue and situations.
Good game but please provide no ads option!!. I love the game itself and the cutscenes are incredible. But please please please please offer a no ads option. I have spent enough money on this game now to more than deserve it and I am so sick of the State of Survival ads- I have no desire to ever play that game and the amount of time and clicks to go through it are making me reconsider continuing now that I’m higher level and the play has slowed. I will gladly pay for a no ads option if offered.
Cute, Fun Writing, Awful Network Support. Fun little distraction with good Lower Decks writing. If you play the events, it’s either no longer an “idle game” or it’s pay-to-win to get on the leader board, or both if you want to break the top 20. Biggest issue is the networking. The game regularly reports “no internet connection” when there is clearly fast internet available in every other app on the phone. Sometimes killing and restarting the app fixes it, other times not. Another bug that probably just doesn’t come up in a simulator is that if you let your phone go to sleep, when you unlock it again about half the time the progress dials and merit counters will just be frozen, which again requires killing and restarting the app to fix it.
All Good Things…. The game is shutting down and vanishing for good soon, the real reason why this era of everything being hosted is a genuinely bad thing… This simple little game could live on for a long time as a stand alone game, but the desire to make everything a subscription or micro transaction mine has made it a guarantee that in time all these mobile games will die off and vanish forever. This was truly nothing more than a reskin of an idle numbers game but it captured the feel of our cherished Star Trek franchise so ruined by Kurtzman NuTrek that we all wanted to hold on to this last refuge of Gene’s vision. It will be missed, but as Q said… “Goodbye Jean Luc, I’m going to miss you…but then again, all good things must come to an end.” 🖖🏻
If your bored and want something to pass the time without worrying about leader boards or scores this the game for you
Fun idle time waster.
Good game stunted by predatory money grabs and lack of features. Over all, I enjoyed the game. But I’m very discouraged from continuing to play. Why? 1. Ads, ads, and more ads. If you want to advance the game in any meaningful way, you have to watch a literal ton of ads. Most games in this genre have an option to pay to remove ads. I’d pay for that option, if it was set at a reasonable price. 2. Timed events are pay to win, which means that you have to pay to stand a chance at winning the good rewards.
Make it the same puzzle for everyone please.. What. Objectives that are not defined. Terms nowhere on the internet. Dedicate you time and attention to watching ads ads ads and hope you get lucky on the things you can buy. Yes. I have spent a lot of time on this app. I have placed 1 2 3/4 top 20 plenty of times. Free. But think is still too random. Love the stories / but it tells me when to watch. If you don’t do it before your next phone task, you miss that part of the story… Until you restart. It restarted me without my consent. But I was all the way through the levels at that time. I am giving it a top rating ~~> for the addictiveness. -1 ~~>because too random for spending points on what you need.
Forced tutorial. Stop forcing us to do tutorial and let us play as we wish. Stop forcing us to go to next episode. Stop forcing us to switch to buying multiple workers. Stop forcing us to buy crates. Refund latinum you stole by forcing us to buy crate. Stop forcing us to automate a task. How do I turn off automation you forced me to turn on? Stop forcing us to upgrade characters. Refund dilithium you stole by forcing us to upgrade a character. Refund the dilithium you stole by forcing us to upgrade a location. Refund the latinum you stole by forcing us to buy dilithium. Stop forcing us to use time skips. Stop forcing us to to claim timed crates.
Looks great but ad supported is an understatement. This is one of those “click resource management” games but skinned with the lower deck characters. If you like the show and you like these types of games, this is what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for a mobile game with a good story and mechanics that are new, this ain’t it. You can pay money for resources but, the crazy amount of video ads you can watch to get them makes it pointless.
Fun to play, but the ads will kill your battery. The game and story are fun to play; but you have to watch adds to help earn resources to advance. The ads are optional, but you won’t move very fast through the game without them. The problem is that every add seems to be a 30+ second add, which launches the App Store pop-up and seems to very quickly kill the phone battery. So, if you’re planning on playing more than just a few minutes make sure you have your charger handy.
Wish the cool design and story work could shine but it's overshadowed by the shameless money grabbing.
fun when it works!. I love Lower Decks and I think the game captures a lot of the charm of the show! Definitely fun character moments and animations, but I can’t get the game to stay open for more than a minute or so, it seems to crash when I push any button. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling, I’ve tried freeing up space on my phone, it just seems to crash no matter what. Really hope this gets fixed!
Great graphics, missing a “pay for no ads” option. I like idle games like this, but can’t resist the temptation to click on the things they pop up that give you a 2x boost or whatever if you watch an ad. But I hate ads, and the clunk my ad platforms that try to make it as hard as possible to X out the ad requiring like 4 clicks in different spots. It takes a fun game and makes it feel like work. I’d pay $20 to get the bonuses and not have any ad opportunities. Please add one!
Agree with others. I get that you don’t want to just give away stuff, but even on the 90+ hour events, I keep coming up one level short of the good bonus…every time. And that’s with me devoting a lot of time to this game…but I do have a job. And automating it sent always an option, either, as I won’t get the character I need, so it stays locked. I don’t mind paying a little every now and then…but not every time just to get a bonus.
Fun game, but too dependent on adds. Fun click game, entertaining story. Too bad it’s ruined by having to constantly watch adds for horrible games. How much do you make on adds/month per active player? Give us a membership option with no adds. Sadly, despite this being a well done game and story, I will be deleting it soon. The adds are insane, and progressing in the game without continuously clicking on the adds is impossible. What a shame.
Really fun idle game, great community support. If you like idle sims, and enjoy Lower Decks, this is a great game. The writing feels like the show, the stories could easily be series episodes, and the event objectives are manageable. When things have gone wrong with the game’s functionality, the dev team has alway been really responsive (thanks, Ensign Matt!), and they’re great at taking info toward resolving things.
Lots of fun!!!. I have been playing this game for a long time now ever since the cartoon came out. The missions are really funny and stories are great. It’s definitely something to play on the side when you’re not watching the episodes on TV. All the new&old characters and everything from the show has been brought here into a huge Kalab a funny situations!
Good idle time game. Love Star Trek. Love the new show Lower Decks. This game is a little repetitive with not much changing between levels and with the often recurring events, but is a great game for when you are bored and need to kill some time. It will also constantly give you something to do if you want to just sit and play the game. In fine it for stars instead of five because of the lack of C any significant creative changes between levels.
Overall Good. So far I’m enjoying the game. As a huge Star Trek fan the theme is great. I just wish there were an option to pay like $10 and automatically get the benefits of ads. So automatically get 2X merit points, autocomplete the Ferengi ads for dilithium. My main frustration I guess boils down to how hard it is to get dilithium. The conversion from real money to latinum to dilithium is expensive. If there were no “middle man” latinum I’d be more likely to make a purchase.
Love the game but the offensive ads are a turn off. So, I actually love the gameplay. Engaging, true to the characters and storylines. 5 stars for all that. I don’t even begrudge the developers the ads. Everyone needs to make a living, right? Most of the ads, while repetitive, are not an issue. What has me deleting the game (and pretty much any game with Unity Ads) is the sprinkling of straight up porn game ads that just won’t go away after reporting. I’m by no means a prude, but come on, I don’t need AI Porn Slop when I am trying to relax. Clean up the ads, or at least let me opt out of them! -3 stars for the garbage ads.
Love this game, and great customer service!. I have played this game for a while now, and recently had an issue with my account and had to eventually delete my account and start a new one. They helped me troubleshoot issues, and helped me restore items. Really recommend this game if you are a fan of Lower Decks.
It has potential…. The fact that it’s advertised as an idle game is what got me into playing it but it only supports vertical screen orientation (which I hate when I’m on my iPad) so it’d be more suitable to play on a phone. HOWEVER there’s a LOT going on once you get a few hours into the game so I fear the phone screen will make it really hard to see everything that’s going on. I’ll keep playing and update this as I learn more… Suggestion: Please support horizontal screen orientation!
Fun. Been playing since yesterday. It’s good fun hands on the game and to come back to while away from it. I can’t compare it to other idle games, but it is fun and the Star Trek lower decks theme is well done. Tried switching it from iPhone to iPad and it just started me over on the 2nd device. It would be nice to have the ability to switch between devices owned by the same user. But that’s my only negative off the top of my head.
All we do is watch Ads and no ad free option. Too many ads when you go to collect Dilithium, double your merits, and to collect parasites. Plus you can’t skip them and it’s always for that Evony game I have interest in. I would love a monthly subscription option that kills or reduces those annoying ads. Maybe keep the ads to get the free Dilithium, but offer a subscription option that lets me get some Dilithium and Latinum monthly. Just a suggestion for an otherwise great game.
Please put an option where you can lock your maxed out simulations. Please put an option where you can lock your maxed out simulations. I’ve accidentally allocated more holo units to simulations I did not want to several times. It’s frustrating to put in so much strategy to have an event messed up by hitting the giant orange upgrade button when I’m chasing an anomaly.
Watching ads as a “game”. This is an idle game, meaning you’re supposed to put it down for a while to let it accrue materials for you. But every time you pick it up you need to watch eight ads to stay competitive. Every morning when you wake up: 8 ads. Every might after work: 8 ads. Every night before bed: 8 ads. Once you’re done with the ads, you can “play”. Congrats—you’re just being fed a constant stream of ads, as a “game”. And the ads are obnoxious too—they all have tiny buttons to close, and if you tap even one pixel off they go back to the ad. And you have to tap multiple times to get through the ad. I love love LOVE Star Trek Lower Decks, the show. But this game just exploits the IP (and not very well—no voice acting) and makes me hate it. I wish Paramount had never agreed to sully their IP with this obnoxious trash.
“Fun” for casual fans. Downloaded it because I saw it mentioned on Reddit. Seems like no one plays it because within the day I got to top 15 in the event that is going on. The written “stories/episodes” that are present are well done and work like a mini episode of the show. And there are constant ways to get the things you need for free. Nothing more than a idle game but it’s mentally stimulating for a bit
Game is really cool but events don’t work for me. I cannot access them. Game works fine but when I click on the event it never stops loading. I tried waiting it out but it never goes past the loading screen. Game is fine (storytelling is good) but it glitches a lot and crashes. No saving and no Game Center.
Lower Decks charm and fun. If you enjoy incremental upgrade games like Cookie Clicker, Lemonade Tycoon, and AdVenture Capitalist, you’ve found your next favorite game. It has fun characters, hilarious dialogue, and doesn’t feel predatory at all. Progress feels smooth and fair several days in, and varied events keep things fresh. Highly recommended, especially to Star Trek fans.
Game won’t load. I’ve played this game on and off basically since it’s came out. I’ve never left a review expect the basic 5 star review. But for the past day the game won’t let me play. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and as soon as I load my my old data the game will stop loading. It will only load the developer splash screen and then give me a black screen the game will never load anymore. But when i uninstall the game it works up until I ask it to load my game from cloud storage.
Another Victory for Lower Decks!. This game is immensely entertaining- it’s a great way to get a quick dopamine hit and put a smile on your face. If you’re a ST fan who has seen every single episode (at least once) of every season of every Star Trek series (like me) - you won’t be disappointed. And even if you’re only into STLD, you’ll still love it. Have fun and don’t let Badgey get you! ;)
