💸 Want to send money abroad for free?

We transfer money over €4 billion every month. We enable individual and business accounts to save 4 million Euros on bank transfer fees. Want to send free money abroad or transfer money abroad for free? Free international money transfer!

Immediate subscription required. You can’t even try this for a day without signing up with your personal info for a $4.99 a month subscription. That’s insane.

A good start. Still missing a few appliances, in my case a deep freezer. I might pay a smaller price later on once the app is more established.

Worthwhile and Very Detailed. I don’t know how people are complaining about the cost of the app, which is very obvious even before downloading it, and it comes after a *90-day* free trial, which is very generous as far as apps go. Even then, is $4.99 a month, and as a first-time homeowner, that’s nothing to save me the hassle (and inevitable cost) of figuring it all out myself. Still more, the details are exhaustive as to completing each task. I’m really enjoying it so far, and I look forward to future updates. Great work (UI is real nice) and worthwhile.

Helps me stay organized. I really like this app. It helps me stay organized and on top of maintenance that is easy to forget. There are two things I wish the app did (or maybe it does, but I don’t know how to use it.) The first is for reoccurring maintenance to appear without you having to manually uncheck them as completed to get them added back to your list for that month. The second is to be able to move items to a different month. Otherwise I really enjoy using it!

Good but needs custom items!. Love this idea and the execution is pretty darn good. Can the developers add custom “items”? For example, what if I want a quarterly reminder to check the batteries on my electric mouse traps? Hard for CR to know every consumers wants, so best to just give them the power to DIY those parts :) Great job otherwise. Looking forward to this helping me.

So close. I really want to go all in with this app but I wish I could fully customize items. I cannot find a way to delete or modify the starting tasks that may not be relevant to my exact item. For example my generator requires a monthly maintenance run but the default task is every 3 months and cannot be changed.

Good, not great yet. Pretty neat app in telling you the routine maintenance required for a home. The functionality right now is pretty basic, just a calendar of tasks you should be doing by month. Not sure a calendar is worth the monthly subscription fee. Low hanging fruit that can make it more useful and valuable are pulling in user manuals for the appliances you add and adding in or linking videos in addition to the descriptive steps. Additionally functionality to consider maybe recommendations or near by pros that can do the task for you or maybe product recommendations from consumer reports.

Does not start well. I was interested in it but was disappointed with the interface. I knew only three of the four data items the program asked for, put those in and did do not know for #4. The app completed the entry, but when I checked the refrigerator/freezer and tried to add the information I simply could not do it. That suggested to me that the app is not well designed, and I am dropping it for now. Consumer Report, fix it.

A must have for all homeowners. I just bought my first house and have been a little stressed over maintenance. This app is exactly what I was looking for. The maintenance plans are easy to follow and contain valuable tips. Absolutely brilliant app 🙏🏼

Great idea and good app but expensive. This app does what I’ve been looking for for a while but sixty dollars a year is far too much for this sort of information that they have to produce once. Would have been great as a one time payment app but gotta monetize everything.

Could be good. Could be good except that I’ve already subscribed and it keeps telling me to access premium parts of the app I have to subscribe.. disappointed.

Great in theory. I’ve tried downloading and deleting multiple times over a few weeks and never can get past the first few pages without a error. Different download, different page for the error.

Misleading. I downloaded this app with a referral from my homeowners insurance company with an enticement of “3 months free trial”. The app is helpful and teaches me things to do that I would not have thought about, however, I only got through the 1st month when they started charging me. There have also been some opportunities to speak with the developers through virtual chat sessions, however, I signed up for 2 of these and no one shows up and they get cancelled. So while this is a very helpful app, I’m not sure what to think of the company and developers.

$60/yr forever for info in every manual and home repair website. This app is ridiculously expensive. I subscribe to Consumer Reports. I downloaded the app after reading about it in their print magazine. I finally got around to setting up Upkept nearly a year later and am told the app costs $5/mo. What?! I get charging for additional services like in-person support, but a monthly charge for an automated app is absurd, especially when it's developed by a publication I already pay for.

Needs updates to be worth it. This app is great in theory, but for 4.99/month, the amount of bugs you run into is unacceptable. Several items never load (kitchen sink, trees, lawn, to name few) and just sit on the “Please wait” screen and the only way to back out is to force close and start over.

Monthly fee for use. I could only enter 1 item. Then the app won’t go any further before it demands a monthly (about $5) subscription fee. For $600/ year I could buy a new appliance or item! No thanks.

Scammy - disappointed in CR. I understand the concept of “in app purchases.” But after you go to the trouble of signing up and adding an appliance, you are informed that the app is only good for three months, after which time you must subscribe for five bucks a month. This is not a “freemium” type product. The app is entirely useless if you don’t subscribe. This should be made clear in advance. Shame on CR.

No tips, just schedules! Fee required!. A glorified to-do list for home and appliance maintenance. Three month free trial, then a monthly fee is required.

Too Expensive!. I’d pay a flat fee of $4.99 but $4.99 per month is crazy. As CR would say, save your money and use your free calendar app to schedule routine maintenance and put the $60/year you save towards repairs.

Disappointing for an expensive app. Half of the things that I try to add get me stuck on a “Please wait…” screen and never load. I have to force kill the app to get out of it. It is doing this when I try to add specific items, including a kitchen faucet, electrical panel, plumbing, and I’m sure others as well. I will be requesting a refund from the apple store.

I’m sorry but no. This app is purely to mine data from consumers to enable consumer reports to sell reports. That’s all fine and all but it’s insults to see that they want the end user to pay for this. Useless app

Not quite enticing enough. I was going to use a few basic upkeeps without signing up for a trial, but you can’t even put the kitchen sink on here without a pop up. No thanks. I’ll go back to paper and pen just because I already have those without a subscription. One idea might be a lifetime subscription, but not enough ‘trials’ to keep my attention to try.

So far so good. I really like it so far. However, I really wish there were options for septic and well systems. Or also options to add your own tasks.

Looked promising but couldn’t get it to work. It looked very useful but I’ll never know since at the start it insisted on making me enter information about specific appliances, which I did not have, before doing anything else in the app. Without entering all that information, I couldn’t move on to any other features. Too bad. I was excited to try it.

Can’t use because I’m not in front of the fridge. Kinda stupid that I have to add my fridge before I can use the app, but that’s the way it’s programmed. So, useless app gets bad review as a heads up and deleted because I’m not a fridge-ophile

A come-on for a costly subscription. After the first few bits of data that I entered, the app went to a page to accept a trial subscription, with an automatic $4.99/mo. added if you forget to cancel. There was no way to decline and just try more of the app without getting a trial subscription. I just had to quit the app. Come on, Consumer Reports, that is *not* consumer-friendly! The app should provide a basic level for free, and have an option of a subscription (non-intrusively) for the advanced mode. I deleted the app.

Only works with a subscription fee.. Only works with a subscription fee. Doesn’t tell you until after you make an account and add 1 item. Pretty shady practice especially from consumer reports Edit: no you were not upfront on your Instagram ad. Which lead right to the download. And I’m sure it a method of a decent amount of traffic to your new app. Secondly. Regardless of wording on the install page. There’s too many accounts I need to have in todays world. The least you can do is notify me of the cost BEFORE I give you my personal info. Now. Even though I’ll never use the app, I have an account floating around. And should consumer reports ever get hacked there’s just one more avenue for my personal information be out there

Really good start, needs more custom options. I really like the design of the app and the suggested automated tasks. Unfortunately we have some items that aren’t listed as options (whole house humidifier requiring filter changes for example) that make it unlikely to keep up with the app since we’ll have to find another way to remember those. I also don’t like that we can’t add year installed/manufacturer/brand for some items like hardwood and carpet since we know them. Lastly, I’d much prefer one flat fee, even if hefty, than monthly sub.

Sells your info. Right after I set up an account on this app, I started getting a TON of calls, emails, and texts regarding services I had “requested”. Most of the calls were from numbers with my same area code, although I do not live in that area and would never request services from vendors there. I can only assume that this app is a scam to sell your information to vendors in your phone number area. Do not use this app.

No point in downloading. You might as well make your app $5 if you’re going to make them pay to use it anyway.

Lots of Potential. Downloaded the app and went through the setup which was super easy and straight forward. There is a lot of useful info and detail maintenance plans for all kinds of home items. One thing that would be a great feature is to include warranty tracking and notes about repairs. I’ve had to call in for warranty repairs and tracking down which items have 1/5/10 yr warranties is difficult.

Worthless without customization. Owned my home 13 years. Worked in home improvement for 10. This app highlights some basics, but doesn’t include features that actually need upkeep. Off the top of my head: sliding glass doors, shower doors, hinges and locks, ceiling fans, patio furniture and features, grills, outdoor lights, pools, pest control, exterior cleaning and pressure-washing… I could go on. Second, without climate customization, many of the tasks are useless. I live in FL. It’s 90°F and rains daily in summer, but I don’t have to “winterize” anything. Also, my roof will only last 15 years because of the heat and sun. Adding a lawn but not being able to customize the grass type and climate is also a waste. Same with plants - annuals and perennials are different. What about fruit trees or deciduous trees? Everything about a home is based on local climate. I put in my zip code when I registered and it still shows me plans for insulating pipes to prevent them from freezing. Overall, too singularly focused on superficial appliance and fixture care without consideration of all the other *actually* critical parts of a home. I’d even be satisfied if it just let me add my own tasks and frequency, but that customization just isn’t there. If anyone thinks this app is a one-stop guide to home care, I’d hate to visit your house. If anything, this app is a distraction from the things that really matter. For $4.99/month, the value just isn’t there. You’d be better off making a spreadsheet or adding reminders to a calendar app - and making good friends with the local folks at the hardware store, of course.

Cool app, but lacks some functionality. The app is very cool and does have some cool feature to it to keep track of all the to dos. But seeing that the basic version is all you get for when you need the subscription doesn’t make sense. It would be cool if the paid version allowed you to add your own items not listed and add to dos with reminders for those. Pulling in manuals from newer equipment with maintenance recommendations from those would be a good feature as well. A lot of this I can set up calendar reminders in my google account for free as a recurring event so not as much need to pay for subscription. But the app overall has a great concept and lots of potential to be super useful for home owners. Especially if we could sit down with our maintenance manuals for the equipment to add periodic maintenance items that aren’t listed here.

Shame on you CR. I expect you to protect me from parasitic apps that I do not need. Free trial followed by a $60 annual fee CR you have let me down and permanently changed my opinion of your organization. I am on the CR insights panel and will definitely let the organization know how disappointed I am with you!

Great Value. $4.99/mo with no ads with the potential of saving you $1000s in costly repairs from poor upkeep is a stellar value. I only wish there was an option to pay for your subscription through the Consumer Reports website rather than through the app. I’d much rather have CR get the 30% cut that Apple gouges from app subscriptions. Grading upkeep items as critical, important or extra credit helps prioritize home maintenance without getting overwhelmed.

Great so far. This app is great to keep you on track of maintaining a home. I’d like for there to be an option for putting certain tasks on a certain month though.

Good so far, but not great. Would like to see freezers added and maybe the ability to add small appliances

Should be free for subscribers. The app works well enough, and has good information, but I’m disappointed that you’re not including the app’s features among benefits of subscribers to the magazine/website. I greatly dislike the ridiculous amounts apps charge for subscriptions that provide nothing near the amount of benefit for what they change, and CR has now added themselves to the list of miscreants.

Forces you into subscribing.. You get a pop up saying you can check it out free for a month. You then have to click ‘got it’ which they feel counts as you agreeing to a subscription.

Disappointing. I was really excited about the concept of this app - while technically the function is something you could recreate in many other apps or just your calendar, I love a niche app that is also aesthetically appealing, which this is. It’s fun to tap the icon for each element of your home, upload a photo, enter the model number, lifespan, etc. I love the concept of having all the information on each appliance or area of your home in one easy to find place, especially the different sections for receipts and parts. I had to give only three stars (I almost gave just two), and I will be canceling my subscription, because the actual maintenance plans in general are *extremely* lacking. A few of the major appliances have more unique and tailored maintenance tasks, but the majority of the other “maintenance plans” are just annual “do a visual inspection”, “make repairs as needed”, “do a deep clean”. This wouldn’t be as disappointing if the app gave you an option to ADD your OWN tasks - but it doesn’t! Customizing and adding your own tasks seems like SUCH a basic feature and I can’t believe it doesn’t come with this option. Heck, even just being able to adjust the frequency of the task would be better - cleaning my range hood only once a YEAR? It needs it far more often than that. There is also no option to add your own appliances or home elements, which would be helpful as the ones available are limited. There’s no microwave, free-standing bathtub, patio, fireplace…lots of basic home elements. I REALLY wanted to like this app, and I honestly never write reviews, but the creator of this app seems to actually notice reviews so I thought I’d give it a shot. Please, add these things if you can, and I’d be happy to renew my subscription!

Like a lot but. I love a lot of the features but I really wish you could change the month for predetermined tasks. For instance, in my area we won’t to aerate and seed in September but the app won’t let me move the task

A homeowner’s dream!. This app makes it so useful to maintain those easy to forget maintenance items for my home.

Inadequate Support. A liked the functionality and options of this app until I ran into a problem. I was trying to add a custom item to the kitchen category. Surprisingly, a microwave is not a part of their pre-set. A custom item canNOT be added - no picture, no details. I wrote to customer support, got an answer that they knew about the issue and were working on it. It’s been a month already, nothing happened. To my follow up email, I got a rude answer that they would let me know when it’s fixed. So, for now, I am not motivated to keep adding items as their picture upload doesn’t work even for the pre-set items. That prevents me from adding critical information about the appliances.

Good in theory. It’s a great idea, and a great looking app - but for the cost, and the fact that notifications do not work (and have never worked) - one of the selling points is the app notifying you when to tend to certain tasks and maintenance routines. So without that functionality in working order, this is just a really expensive database of your appliances and some maintenance tips. Not worth it until the app is fixed, and even then, it’s overpriced.

This app is not working. This app is not working

Constant error messages. I downloaded and added a few things, but after I closed the app, I have had constant error messages. It won’t bring up the data I imputed and just says something went wrong. I have closed and reopened. Logged out. Reinstalled. Nothing is working. What a waste of time. I cannot believe they charge people for such a problematic app. I don’t know what all the app can do because I haven’t been able to use it. I am disappointed and upset at wasting so much of my time.

Not Worth It. I’m paying $4.99 a month for a calendar to remind me what to clean. I’m not a fan of the subscription model for such a bare bones app. I already pay for a print subscription, plus another subscription for the Consumer Reports website. There should be a one time flat fee for the app instead of nickel-and-diming your supporters to death. I will be canceling.

Not worth the price. Way too expensive for what it offers. Needs a free option, and a more robust paid option.

Freemium Needed. Great idea for an app - would recommend doing a freemium model so i can track maybe 3-5 things initially before paying. Won’t be using it if I need to pay 5$ a month right away.

Helped save my fridge!. I never thought to check the gasket on my fridge until this app told me to. Turns out there was a tear the size of a nickel and because of this app I was able to identify it and get it repaired before the entire unit died.

A must for any homeowner. The app makes it super easy to stay on top of everything. With reminders throughout the year, I never miss a task and my house is always in great shape!

Good app - a few pain points. The App has a number of features that are attractive - ability to keep a list of all your appliances so it can let you know of various tasks. A few things they could be added: - record model/serial numbers via photos. That could help with warranty and repairs (finding manuals etc) - prioritizing the various tasks so that the reader can decide how they wish to view them.

Amazing app. I can’t beleive how good this app is. Every house owner should use it.

Unfortunate. Let’s you add one item and then requires monthly subscription to add more.
