Great companion app. This app is awesome, really makes life better. The spot lock is great and I love that I get the notifications that I want to see. Keep it up!

This app rocks!. I finally “upgraded’ to a Gen2 V1. Combining the functionality of this app, especially the GPS Spot Locks, frequency reports, trip summaries, and MANY other cool additions make this a must have for any iOS using Valentine Gen2 user. I had a couple questions that were almost immediately answered by the app team. Most of the time asking questions about an app is a trip to the black hole of never, not so with V1 Companion! I am very happy with this app and the support, thanks Cracked Pixel and team.

Amateur UX. this is as scrappy as it gets folks. i’m gonna give this app as much of a chance as I can, but man, developers need to hire somebody who knows how to design a user interface. It is horrendous. sorry to be blunt, but it has to be said.

Won’t fit. Won’t fit on my screen. I cannot access controls or menu options. I was excited by Vortex Radar about this app but now I’m disappointed.

Good app with some small failings. Mostly this is a good iOS app for the v1Gen2. Biggest failings are 1. voice announcements are inaudible at highest volume settings. I can only hear voice announcements if the car is stopped. 2. If I can hear the voice announcements, the spoken frequency has significant figures out to 3 decimal places with no easy way to change. Ie. 34.700 hz instead of a simpler 34.7 hz Both these issues are so annoying I choose a competitive app instead most days.

Won’t connect. I have one of the latest V1 Gen 1 detectors, along with the Bluetooth dongle that works for both Android and IOS, but this app fails to connect.

Has a lot of potential. Have the app and like it but as others have stated the toggles need to move to another page and the main screen enlarged so it uses the entire screen for alerts. Being able to switch to a horizontal view would be great. I’m guessing that a lot of users would appreciate an easier to view alert screen especially us mature users ;)

Like it but. Hi there Love the app BUT it keeps disconnecting from BT and sometimes reconnects but appears random. Phone is in my riding pants about 2’ from V1 gen2. Help!!!!! Starting 2k trip Sunday morning.

Superb. This is overall one of the best apps I have on my phone. It works flawlessly, works as advertised, and makes (IMO) the best radar detector on the market even better. The screens and graphics could use a little cleaning up to make them more legible and less cluttered, and an explanation of some of the symbols that appear on the screen would be ideal, but this is a small price to pay for the functionality offered in this package. Absolutely, totally, and inarguably, worth every penny of the asking price.

UI Disaster. I reeeally want to like this app, but the user interface is a poorly designed visual disaster, lacking any basic organization, information hierarchy, and professional design. The developer has clearly forgotten that you will be DRIVING when using this app. Instead, it seems like the intent is to impress us with how many alert and pieces of information can be thrown on the screen all at once, sometimes using plain English sentences, with bright contrasting colors. The initial splash screen – using what looks like comic sans – is your first clue that this will not be a good user experience. You’re then BOMBARDED by an unavoidable, overwhelming and infuriating wave of prompts that you CAN NOT STOP. Once you finally get past that, you’re presenting with a poorly designed UI/UX that any first year design student could dramatically improve in five minutes of casual work while drinking a cup of coffee. This app’s functionality might be amazing, but its UI and UX are just too sophomoric to even try. What a shame.

Excellent App. Ignore my other review with the exception that the developer put the instructions on how to change the voicing. Excellent support, well worth the purchase.

Great V1 Companion. Great app. It’s by far the best V1 app I’ve tried. Well worth the price. It’s frequently updated with new and advanced features. This app keeps my V1 pleasantly silent unless an actual threat is near. It’s simple to use and makes my ride so much more peaceful than using my Valentine One without the app.

Has potential and makes sense.. After trying all the other ones available, this is by far the best out there of the very few available at this time. And definitely better than the ever so confusing and over priced V1Driver. This is going in the direction and made the way an app should be made, opposed to fumbling around with it constantly adding pins etc. I would rather use this app here due to the simplicity of it even if not quite perfect yet. Having to constantly add things manually like on other apps of the alike preoccupies your thinking and makes it unsafe to drive at that point. I will stick with this app for now, unless something comes along better. It’s all still very new with Bluetooth enabling GPS options via smart devices, and a big game changer at this point to compete with escorts redline 360c which already has all of this all in one. I do like the fact the app has options opposed to escort models of the alike (being an owner of both devices)does in fact give a lot more control over your detector, but there is still a long way to go before I see one as perfect as I’d like to see it work.

Constant disconnect. The app tend to disconnect from V1 for t unknown reason. We need a fix

Works to make a quiet ride. A really sensitive detector can be so annoying it’s useless. I get very few false hits and yet it warns me when there really is a problem. Not “perfect” but very useful. It’s the best by far and keeps getting better!

One last thing and it’s perfect…. If it could be used in landscape mode it would be perfect for me... I do use it more than any of the other apps out there. But really want landscape support since my pro max phone gets in the way of other things to see on dash while in portrait orientation. That’s it. Nothing else to dislike it is by far the most quiet v1 ride to work and around town. Great work on last version update. It’s a KA warning system and has since eliminated 99.9 of all other false. bSM and ghost is excellent. And spot locks never let me down. App support site down.. still hoping you are working on landscape option. Thanks!

Great Companion App For My V1. Ditto to all of the latest raves about this app. I've had it for less than a week and truly love it. Two concerns that I have: 1. The vehicle speed is randomly off by posting 3-5 mph faster than my odometer speed. The same happens on both of my vehicles. Is there a way to calibrate to correct? 2. Is there a setting so that my car audio is not lowered when I receive a radar alert? I'm using a iPhone 14 pro max for the app. Thank You!

Great app but no landscape or CarPlay. App works great, however wish it supported landscape as this is how my phone best fits in my car or supported CarPlay, the latter I'd prefer ;)

Hallelujah! I was at a loss until this app. Really don’t know or care why Valentine 1 doesn’t buy this app and sell it as their own. This app transforms my V1G2 from unusable in city to works really good. Either way, I’m grateful to have controls and love that the app has consistently been updated. Looking forward to the increased functionality and features!

Bluetooth Connectivity is Reprehensible. Really? My IPhone 16 pro max is less than 19 unobstructed inches away from my V2 and it indicates that the Bluetooth signal strength is poor? It continues to lose Bluetooth and reconnect throughout the drive. I’m sorry I purchased this app. There are better ones out there.

True companion to the V1. This is the best app for the V1G2. It works exactly as intended, though of course nothing is absolutely perfect. SpotLocks takes care of all of the stationary radar and his built-in database of frequencies - most Blind-spot radar you are going to encounter. Customization of the app is enough to make it work for you, without being too much or too complicated to figure out. Once I had all my settings dialed in, I haven't messed with the app. One of the best features, that I am yet to see with another V1 iPhone app, is the dynamic control of the volume. It makes a silent drive when youre encountering stationary K-band and BSM systems, yet still alert quietly when manually. This implementation hands down makes this app better than the rest it for me.

Nice App. Works nice! My hope is that it will eventually include crowd sourced alerts, speed cameras, and aircraft.

Game changer. Works great. Wish there were more features but for what it is def awesome

V1G2 must have!. This application was great before, but with the new software release (release date 9/25/25) it is incredible! I sure coincidence, I updated the app while in Santa Monica, California departing to the Santa Ynez Valley. The features work like they did before, but there’s an addition of a bar near the top of the screen that shows the confidence percentage of signals detected. Every time I got an X or K band, it displayed a confidence level of zero. But as soon as I got a Ka signal, I checked the screen and it said 100% confidence. Sure enough, about 3/4 of a mile in front of me was a highway patrol unit on the side of the road running radar. This occurred multiple times over the course of my hour drive. It would be nice to have the app work in landscape format as well, but other than that one small complaint, this gets a strong 5/5. If you have a V1 G2, you need this app!.

Great app. Newest version has unreadable options for photo radar on the iPhone pro max. Also a CarPlay app or widget would be much appreciated! Great work keep it up.

Great app. Looks pretty simple, developer has been upgrading it regularly, I wish the settings toggles would go away and maybe tap or double top bring back them back, that way it would make it look cleaner

Getting started. Just purchased last night and so far so good, the looks could be cleaned up a bit, looks a tad cartoonish. The settings buttons are also a little hard to see at the bottom of the screen . Will try it out for awhile and see how it goes.

Almost there!. A great app that adds a ton of functionality to the V1 Gen 2. The logging and real time data are fantastic. The ONLY thing it needs is porting to car play so my phone can sit tucked out of the way. Any way we can get this added?

Consistent updates keep making it better and better. I can’t say enough good things about this app. The developer listens to feedback on forums and is constantly working to make it the best iOS app available for radar detector enthusiasts. I never have to worry about BSM or false alerts and can just focus on driving and paying attention to my V1G2 when there’s an actual police threat. I wish they had it for Android!

Good app. I like this app & like my new V1. App works great and connects seamlessly. I’m glad devs devote time & skill to projects like this. If I could change one thing, I’d prefer a different skin or theme. I don’t really care for the font that’s used.

Honest Opinion. 1. I truly believe that this application should be a mandated install on purchase of the V1 Gen2. In my local area, this is a game changer! 2. I feel that there should be an export function for the log file. I’d like to parse that for frequencies to modify my custom frequency profile.

Love it! Just wish I could turn off the “V1Gen2 disconnected” announcement. I love that this app enables me to customize nearly all the settings on my V1G2 radar, but it has one major flaw. Though I understand its purpose, I wish it gave the option to turn off the “V1Gen2 connected” or “disconnected” announcements. The app sometimes glitches and will make “disconnected” and “connected” announcements multiple times during a drive, even when the app’s connection to the radar is uninterrupted. Lastly, I hate alerting to the world that I have a radar detector whenever I exit my vehicle. Otherwise, this app is excellent and 5-star!

Doesn’t work, and no service. Won’t stay connected with Bluetooth on a brand new V1Gen2, then I tried to contact them and no response. But they got my money..figures 🙄

Falling in love with my V1Gen2 all over again. This really quiets your ride. All the reasons why I wanted to get the R8 are now addressed with this app. Overall I think the V1Gen2 is better than anything out there, but its lack of GPS is extremely frustrating. I could write so much more about this app, but this app really is everything the V1Gen2 should be out of the box.

Almost perfect. This app is awesome. The only thing preventing the v1 gen 2 from being the best detector on the market is false alerts. This fixes everything. I would just say KA band user locks would be nice - I have two falses I drive by every day. Overall worth $10 instead of buying an escort detector for $200 more than a v1g2.

Just got it yesterday. Nice looking interface. Works great with the V1G2. It keeps connecting and disconnecting from the bluetooth. Is this the app’s fault or a Valentine problem?

Stealh mode not stealthy. Whenever you get an alert the front of my V1g2 lights up.

Amazing so far. Ditto to all the other raving reviews, the only thing its missing is its not compatible with apple car play. That would take this app to the next level

CarPlay?. This is an excellent sidekick to the v1, but I am longing for CarPlay compatibility. By the way, thank you to the developer(s) for putting so many useful features in this app!
