The new normal means wasting time on redundant forms. Im traveling to a country that doesn't require covid tests or visas to enter. Apparently the new normal means downloading a pointless app and filling out the same information I already filled out half a dozen times on half a dozen websites only to not be able to check in online for my biz ticket flight. I dont blame the developers I blame society. Edit: Ive used it a few times now and am upgrading it from 2 stars to 3 stars, only because other airline check in procedures are worse. The new feature theyve added is to charge you $8 for the service of taking a glance at your test result within 15 minutes. The same service that takes the check in agent 10 seconds. Also, they don't check on arrival in the states, so the states outsourced this job to the airlines, then American outsourced this job to the app, prohibits you from checking in without it, and charges you $8 PER CHECK IN for the pleasure. This is the new normal.

Not worth the hassle. As others have said, the app is very clunky and not intuitive. But, if I wanted to check in online for our return trip from the Bahamas, it was required by American Airlines. I finally got everything uploaded correctly the day before my flight, but after 16 hours our Covid tests had still not been reviewed. So, 6 hours before my flight, I contacted support. Literally within minutes, it showed my results as reviewed and issued a “pass” for my family of four. However, I still couldn’t check in because AA showed “Verified” for two of us, but “Incomplete” for the other two. I contacted American, and they said the problem was that VeriFLY wasn’t transmitting the information correctly to them. I contacted VeriFLY again, and they said the problem was on the American side, and that I could show my VeriFLY “pass” when I checked in at the airport. At that point, I had gained exactly nothing. It would be just as easy (or easier?) to show my Covid test results at the airport as it would be to show my VeriFLY pass.

I couldn’t hate it more if I tried. Update: I had to show all my travel docs at the airport despite being “cleared” by this app. Check in agent said some people had been verified who shouldn’t have been so now they were also checking manually at the airport. Even if you manage to get this app to work, the only advantage it gives you is the ability to check in online, but you still have to wait in line to check in again at the airport. I am disgusted that BA forces you to download this app and provide all your most sensitive info to a third-party company for no reason at all. Hours and hours of my life have been spent entering data into this app, only to have it fail. I am now literally on my third go round of entering the same info, only to wait ages to have it verified. And for god’s sake, whatever you do, do not switch between iPad and phone apps, because it wipes all your data and you have to start again. This is my third trip trying to work with this app, it’s not worth it, it’s possibly the worst app ever and they don’t recognize it at the airport anyway. Wish zero stars were possible.

Encumbers international travel. American Airlines required that we download this app to upload information for international travel. We followed all instructions weeks in advance, uploaded all documents for vaccinations and had the green light until my husband tried to check in for our flight at 5:30am this morning. Suddenly, there is an issue with my account only, but the area of issue is for verifying my vaccine status for the country we are traveling to…which cannot be completed until 11pm TOMORROW. We couldn’t even check in on the phone with American. So now, we have to go to the AA desk at 3am to have them manually check us in because of this ridiculous glitch/screw up/whatever it is. This also is not a case of user error, but rather application faultiness, as my travel agent took this exact same trip about 3 weeks ago and had the exact same headache. We will never fly an airline that requires this app for “seamless and contactless travel” as this has been neither.

Needs a LOT of improvement!. For an app that is supposed to make your international travel easier, it does everything but! I had used it a few years ago and found it buggy and cumbersome. This time I flat out hated it ! Every time I tried to log in - even tho I had a login and password - it treated me like a first time user. It also does not advise you until you have to start all over again that you can only log in on one device. So if while at home you create and start on a laptop you can’t use it on your phone without starting all over. It also doesn’t tell you until it’s too late that you can’t use it within 24 hours of your flight departure. So if you need to wait for COVID tests or visas like we did we had very little time to use the app. I would ditch it and get someone who has actually travelled internationally to advise on how it can be salvaged.

Doesn’t accept connecting flights. What is the point of an app with a monopoly on document verification, that does not recognize that many people have connecting flights ahead of an international departure? And that does not provide a warning about how that could affect the timing of COVID tests - which is the *whole point of the app*. We have an international flight that requires a 72-hr negative covid test. Fine. Got them and went to load them - blocked because the tests are supposedly outside the window. Because the app doesn’t allow us to start our trip from our home airport. We have two short legs before the international one. The country’s rules say that the clock starts *at the point of embarkation on the first leg of the trip*. Because of the travel time before our international departure (about 13 hours) VeriFly says our tests were taken outside the 72 hours, which they clearly were not under the rules. I called VeriFly (and that’s a whole other issue - I got their number from the airline not their site) and the person insisted that the app allows selecting connecting flights. That is not true; the app forces choices based on the last/direct. It’s really inexcusable. PS: been selecting nicknames to post this: “Not Hapoy” “Really Annoyed” and other similar ones already taken. Hey, VeriFly - fix your app!!

Very unfriendly App. This App leaves a lot to be desired. Many countries not available. Even if a U. S. Citizen returning to the USA, Verifly’s acceptance of a COVID PCR test is difficult to obtain likely because there are several varieties from country to country. I got a test at a clinic in Patagonia Argentina (a very remote area) and the clinic didn’t put my date of birth on the pdf report. I was required to add it manually, however, I had no way of printing it out to add and rescan. Their app can’t receive an annotated pdf, so I had to email it to a friend far away to have my DOB added and scanned back to me when VeriFLY already has that info. What an unbelievably awkward process! If it isn’t bad enough to have to put up with all the different country’s bureaucracies, you will have to also put up with the USA’s and Verifly’s. Additionally, Verifly’s emails are sent from “noreply” mailboxes, so no practical way to communicate with them. No help what-so-ever. I can’t understand why American Airlines would outsource to this service. What happened to doing it themselves? It’s better to just hand carry your documents or electronic PDFs. Most airline staff don’t have a clue what they’re looking at. Bureaucratic useless requirements are not going to help reduce the spread of this so called pandemic. The incompetence everywhere is astounding.

VeriFLY. Too all the folks that give it 1 star is because you submit your information probably in the last minute! This was the easiest and fastest way to go thru that line at the airport! Yes the process should begin 3 to 4 days before traveling back to the states. I did that exactly in that format. Once you uploaded your information and covid results the verification took 1 day after I uploaded the results! Once VeriFLY verified all the personal and covid results information, they give you the green check mark in your profile! I arrived at the Cancun airport and say about 300 in line waiting to be helped by their respectable airline agent. I approach an American Airlines agent and told her I have my VeriFLY pass and she looked at it and proceeded to let me and my family cut the line to the VeriFLY LINE. It was a simple process! Again this needs to be done with anticipation and patience! Good luck folks

Decent service. Back and forth to Spain was very smooth. Ok the parts involving VeriFLY were smooth. I never waited longer than 1.5 hours for any approval, vaccine card, test results etc. American Airlines agents like this-they just see your VeriFLY passes and you are through. I wouldn’t pay for the expedited approvals unless you are desperate to get something in like 15 minutes. As I said we never waited too long. Do it a day or two (depending on the country which VeriFLY has covered in the app)ahead of time and golden. counter approval is immediate as all your documents have been reviewed. One negative-VeriFLY doesn’t deal with recovery documents (a medical letter that says you already had Covid). I think you would still have to present that to a ticket agent. Odd that they don’t but that’s what I was told. Overall very useful

Has worked great for me entering Spain and the US. I used VeriFLY in September returning to the US from Greece and this week flying from the US to Spain. Both flights were with American Airlines. I’ve also received approval through VeriFLY to enter Malta on a Vueling Airlines flight from Spain. I haven’t had any problems and received final approval within hours of submitting the required documents each time. Spain requires submission of an electronic form within 48 hours of your scheduled arrival so you can’t get approval to enter the country more than two days in advance. Malta requires a similar process but you can get approval at least a week in advance. Maybe much more in advance. I don’t recall the rules for Malta but I know they’ll approve entry at least a week in advance. For the US you need a negative COVID test within 72 hours of your departure flight before you can get approval through VeriFLY.

Incomprehensible and counterintuitive UI. In 2021, rarely does one encounter a smartphone app with such an abjectly awful user interface. If I were teaching a college course on how not to design an app, I would probably use this one as an example. It’s as if the developers deliberately set out to make everything about creating a trip as difficult and counterintuitive as possible. I eventually figured out how to create a trip after (a lot of) trial and error, but my mother, for example, was completely stumped and I had to create her pass for her. I imagine that others in her generation probably feel similarly. It’s even more incredible since nothing about the UI has changed in the past year when I use this app for the first time. It’s like the developers don’t care about the feedback or about improving the user experience. Really disappointing, especially given that essentially all European countries have rolled out very intuitive and easy-to-use covid vaccine apps. It’s really not that hard. But you do have to try a tiny little bit a guess – must be too hard.

Not required and scary privacy threat. Short version: Do not install this app or agree to the data and privacy policies. They are terrible and just not worth it for small perception of convenience. This app may look at your health data. This app can look through your pictures and content and your contact lists. (Not even Facebook can do all of that.) Company can and will use recordings of you (says so right in their privacy policy). Company will aggregate your data with other information it finds about you online, though public records, or though data it purchases (also spelled out in the privacy policy). Company can then share the data with pretty much anyone they choose to do business with. And what can you do about it when (not if) they screw up and leak your most sensitive and private information? Pretty much nothing. Forced arbitration clause right in the agreement. No access to courts. No class action lawsuits. This company is in business to turn your private life into a data product for resale to others. The small convenience you get is just a little treat for you to get you to bite and give up everything to them. It’s just not worth it. Oh, and by the way, NOT REQUIRED in order to check in to AA flights. Sure, the site and the app make it seem that way, but it’s only required for ONLINE check in. You can (and should) still just check in when you arrive at the airport.

If you use don’t stop complete all the steps within a few minutes. I am a developer, and i have to say i was surprised at how easy it was to get this app into a state that rendered it useless. I completed all but the attestation step, but had to stop in order to finish later. I came back about 14 hrs later to finish, but kept getting a “The Credentials Verification Service reported an error”. Tried quitting the app several times, rebooted my phone. Still got the error. Couldn’t find any info online about this specific error. Thought that perhaps removing the pass/trip would help. But that just retrieved the old pass/trip. Couldn’t find a way to delete the trip and start again. So i removed the trip again, uninstalled the app, and reinstalled the application. I tried creating a new pass/trip but the app kept seeing the first trip i created and i could no longer retrieve the first trip i had removed prior to uninstalling the app. The developers may want to change this inna future release if the application’s life cycle will warrant it....

Be prepared for problems. In order to fly American Airlines international you have to use this app. You upload your COVID test results. However, in order to upload the document you have input different information from the form, but there is no checklist so you have to keep switching between your email and the app then you upload the document. The information is already there and they have to verify it so why is there so much redundancy? Then the app doesn’t talk with the American Airlines app. I was chatting with AA for an hour and they tried everything they could, but it’s VeriFLY. Then AA tried to give me a way contact VeriFLY and they couldn’t find it. You can only check in 24 hours early so you are in a time crunch and the the only way to communicate with them is email. It’s been several hours and no reply to my email. I’m unable to check early for my flight and forced to check in at the airport. I’m not sure why AA even uses this company they have thousands of reviews written and only have a 2.5 star rating.

Ugh - this app is terrible. I recently travelled to the Caribbean from the US on American Airlines. This app was promoted by AA but it is TERRIBLE to use. You have to start a trip on the app with a nonsense “confident traveler” persona and then you have to go through adding all the information in that you can do online on a.con anyway (like Covid attestations etc), and then when you actually have to upload your Covid tests they go to some manual review person somewhere that reviews them after several hours (though they try to get you to pay for a “quicker” review… vultures). After going through all the hassle of doing this for ME and waiting a few hours to have my Covid test results confirmed… I uploaded my family’s Covid results (which were from the EXACT same place/time as mine) and my family’s results were Declined when mine was approved. Then - when I tried to upload it again, the app was buggy and started telling me that a date in the past was a date in the future….nobody has qa’d this app. I just ended up bailing on it and just took my Covid test results to the airport and it was quick. Don’t bother with this app…. It doesn’t work right, the ppl reviewing documents are inconsistent and it’s buggy. AA should stop promoting this dumpster fire of an app.

Worst app I have ever used. The airline I made my reservations with insinuated on its app that I could not proceed with check in until I completed the VeriFLY requirements. The process to input my information and photo went smoothly. BUT once I tried to complete it with my flight and vaccinations information it refused to proceed. All I could get was a page that said it was working to improve its app. It would not let me move any further. It was the day before my flight to Madrid, Spain. It left me completely confused and frustrated. I called the airline to get help checking in and was on hold for over a hour. To make matters worse once I spoke to someone he disavowed any knowledge about the app and informed me that he would not help me complete the process as he had no training on it. I had to drive over 30 minutes to the airport, pay for parking, and go to the airline ticket counter to make sure I had all the requirements to check in. Ten thumbs down to the airlines, American and to the app developer.

Deleting old trips. I followed the directions for deleting a trip but it just doesn’t work. I have four trips under a cruise line. Two if then I have completed. The only way to delete is to delete the cruise line. Ok, but when you select cruise line again, expecting it to be “clean” so you can put your new trip in, the old ones are still there. There should be a way to delete a trip under a category or it should automatically drop off after a set time (to allow for delays in trip). Otherwise it works fine but I guess I need to delete the app and reinstall to see if the past trips fall off. Otherwise I’ll be strolling through past trips to find the one I’m on. It’s nice to be able to put all my trips in but not if I can’t delete them after.

Inefficient and not helpful. We are currently in Aruba, took our Covid test on Sunday afternoon, it is Tuesday morning, it has still not been approved, our flight leaves in a few hours. We are not allowed to check into our flight until the test has been approved by VeriFly. So what was the point of downloading the app, uploading the results, creating profiles, reaching out to VeriFLY via email 6 times (finally got a response after the 6th time), called them using international charges (automation said 5 min wait time...after 20 mins of waiting, finally had to hang up bc I didn’t want to keep racking up international charges), etc . If we just need to go do it all at the airport? Takes a lot for me to leave a “negative review” (have only left 2 in my life haha) but the app and process is disappointing. Update… Callwd VeriFLY once again, spent 10 minutes on the phone, they finally pushed our results through and we were approved two hours before our flight. Lady on the phone was helpful. Still, overall process was a hassle.

VeriFLY Needs Work. This is the 4th trip we’ve taken using VeriFLY. We’ve gone to Italy, Malta, a Viking river cruise in Germany and now, Switzerland. The app doesn’t save vaccination information from previous trips…??…and there isn’t a way I’ve found to just add booster information to update the file. American Airlines emails us and asks us to use VeriFLY but when we get to the airport no one asks for it and instead have us provide our vaccination cards and sometimes have us fill out documents for countries we’re headed to. Why did I go to the trouble of filling out the VeriFLY information? Our upcoming trip, to Zurich and home a week later, has no option to fill out returning information, which is all that matters since Switzerland just wants our vaccination cards but the US wants a negative PCR test before we return. I can only guess that Verifly is incenting American to recommend them🤷‍♀️. I think this is a waste of time.

Would be great if the reviewers weren’t making mistakes.. This app made it easy to upload (but good luck if you’re trying on American Airlines WiFi, it took me 1 hour of trying to upload three pictures and timing out) but what was really frustrating was the inconsistent review standards and mistakes. My negative COVID test was rejected because it “didn’t have my DOB” when it actually WAS on there. But written sideways. I had to retake the picture and resubmit (which is a LOT of fun when you’re on airplane WiFi on the way to your connection /sarcasm) but seriously? They couldn’t just turn the picture on their end? Then - my vaccine card was approved on my pass but my husband’s vaccine card was denied for an invalid vaccine card. We got our vaccines from the SAME places at the SAME TIME. Just wish the review standards were even and reviewers actually took the time to read. I get that they’re rushed but idk maybe VeriFLY should hire more reviewers if it means people will make a lot of mistakes.

Useless App- it doesn’t work and when it does, it doesn’t adhere to the Covid requirements. I have tried to use this app twice now with no success. The first time I tried to use it 6 months ago, it wouldn’t accept my Covid test because I took it about 71 hours before my departure from Aruba (75ish hours from arrival in the US) and it would only accept results within 72 hours of my arrival time into the US (which wasn’t the requirement at the time). After searching a while, I found a customer service number and was rudely told they didn’t care what the real Covid requirements were, for their app it was 72 hours from arrival in the US and that I wouldn’t be able to use it for the trip. The second time it wouldn’t recognize the US as a valid destination. I tried searching for “US”, “USA”, “United States” and “United States of America”. It couldn’t find a result for any of the search options, so I couldn’t even get to the point of trying to upload Covid test results. If I could give this negative stars I would and it is ridiculous that it’s required for check-in on American international flights when the app just plain doesn’t work. For an app that’s supposed to make travel easier, it truly couldn’t be more frustrating and pointless.

Useless and a waste of time. First I never ever review anything! This I had too. I’ve traveled internationally 6 times using this app. It worked once. The first 2 times I uploaded my test result 2 days in advance and they never got checked. I never could proceed with the rest, so I couldn’t check in. The last 3 times everything was uploaded and finished 2 days In advance. Tests got approved, everything filled out, got my check mark saying I was approved to fly. Tried to check in and it said I wasn’t approved and I needed to download the app. American and the app weren’t evidently communicating and once again couldn’t check in. It’s a waste of time. You have to bring the paperwork with you anyway and end up using it to check in. The other problem is that the countries that you fly into don’t know what the app is and you still have to do all the same work. Total waste of time and total aggravation to even mess with.

Made for smooth travel for us. Although I was skeptical based on other reviews, I downloaded app on USA side before a trip to Caribbean on American Airlines. I made sure to get our family of four Covid tests in the exact same names as on airline tickets (I think this has snagged some folks’ test verification). I uploaded everything and within an hour, VeriFLY was approved and I was able to get boarding passes. Checked in at airport with no problem. So glad I did this, because on Caribbean side, it was easy to use the existing passenger profiles to upload the negative covid tests at hotel. Took five minutes. We were all approved within an hour and I could again get boarding passes for trip home. At airport in Caribbean, this allowed us to bypass the check in line and use automatic check in of our luggage to proceed to customs. So you don’t HAVE to have VeriFLY to fly - you can definitely wait in line and show paper copies of everything to desk attendants. But using the app lets American know you are good to go and you can check in to your flight ahead of time. Just one less thing to worry about.

You need this app!. Simply excellent! Recently I travelled from NY JFK to Edinburgh Scotland via Ireland. On my way to Edinburgh the restrictions were well known and I uploaded all my info to VeriFLY and breezed through a crowded JFK the day before Thanksgiving, next day had all the info readily available to enter Ireland and then Scotland. While in Scotland everything changed, Omicron variant arrived and Ireland and USA restrictions changed. I tried to keep up with the changes, it was difficult. I looked at my VeriFLY app and everything was there, simply presented. I uploaded everything they said, arrived at Edinburgh airport to a chaotic scene, thought I could possibly miss my flight there was so many people. Got to check in, showed my VeriFLY app and breezed through the rest. Same happened in Dublin. Only thing I would have done differently is to buy my return COVID test from one of VeriFLY,s approved suppliers. I had a different one, VeriFLY said it would take up to 4 hours to review it, in reality it took less than an hour! You need this app - it is simply excellent!!

Shows the wrong flight time & pass did not work though completed. I have a flight from the USA to UK in the evening and the app is showing my departure date and time incorrectly. For example I have a flight leaving on the 16th at 20:50 and arriving a day later in the UK at 3:15pm on the 17th UK time. Instead it shows my flight departing at 04:50 on the 16th and arriving on the 16th at 3:15pm. I get that 20:50 pst is 4:50 uk time but the date is incorrect. I depart on the 16th and arrive on the 17th. Surely my departure date and time should match my flight I am departing on. Also, I just traveled from the DR to USA and my verify pass said incomplete, even though every section said individually completed and that my negative Covid test was accepted. I did the exact same thing for my husband and the verifly pass worked. I know I entered the info correctly for us both, but my pass just said incomplete yet it was completed and the checklist ticked. This app seems to have more than one glitch. Very frustrating.

Could be handy travel tool but needs major work. I downloaded this app to support an international flight on American Airlines. Download was easy and the system is mostly intuitive to use. However, I experienced problems uploading the Covid test results. Specifically I uploaded my test results and then my husband’s test results within minutes of each other using primarily the same data for location, provider, and results. My husband’s results were reviewed and accepted within 20 minutes. My results were rejected stating my document didn’t meet requirements. Interesting that my document looked exactly like my husband’s which they accepted. I resubmitted it starting from scratch twice more before it was accepted. Aggravating to say the least. Then for the return flight, the American Airlines app wouldn’t allow checking until the return Covid test results were uploaded but the VeriFLY app did not provide a function for the return portion of the trip on the international side. It also wouldn’t let me add a new trip for the return from the international side. The app does not support return trip upload of Covid docs st all and provides no customer support to address the problem. It could be a useful app but needs major work to function properly, consistently, and for round trip purposes.

Completely Useless. Absolutely do not download this app as it does nothing to expedite the check in process. I received an email from American Airlines stating that the VeriFLY app would be used to complete online check-in, validate COVID documents and receive a mobile boarding pass. After an hour of entering all my family’s personal information in VeriFLY, and 2 hours on the phone with American, I discovered that the VeriFLY app does nothing except allow you to “know” that you have the necessary documents to travel. You can’t check in online. You can’t bypass all the onerous airport COVID protocols. You have still have to check-in at the airport, present all your documents, and sign an attestation. So what exactly is the point of VeriFLY except to extract and store my personal data and sell it to third parties? This is NOT the case with United - the entire process is managed within the United app and allows you to receive a mobile boarding pass. What a waste of time.

Issues. So I started the process to get my pass over 2 weeks before my embarkation date to make sure that I was getting everything done and to see how the app worked. Well the only thing I did on the first day was input my cruise info and my attestation for testing. I did not have my vaccine card with me and it was too early to have my covid test so that part wasn’t done. When I tried to go back in the next day to input my vaccine card info I wasn’t able to because my picture could not be recognized anymore. Over the course of two weeks I tried everyday and sometimes multiple times a day with no luck of getting back in. 2 days before my trip I finally got back in and was able to add everything. I really hope that I didn’t just waste all of that time for it not to work when I get too my cruise terminal. Idk what to tell anybody to do because I’m not sure what I did and I’m hoping I don’t have that issue anymore.

Should be better. Did everything we were supposed to. Uploaded Covid test a full 2 days before our flight back from Cancun. I even emailed asking how long it should take to get approved and the response was there is no timetable for reviewing. Day of the flight Covid test still hasn’t been approved so we get to the airport super early and wait in line for 90 minutes to check in. There was only about 3 people ever in the verifly line. About 2 hours before the flight the Covid test got approved. So it took over 2 days to verify? That’s completely unacceptable. You can’t expect people to use this app if they have to wait until the very last minute to see if their test has been approved for an international flight. I would have missed my flight had something happened and it not been approved and I’d waited. You need to fix your processes and approve more expediently to give people peace of mind rather than waiting until the last minute. Would be a 5 star review if I could have used the verifly line!

Consistently mediocre AA/VeriFLY Experience. This review is a combination of the VeriFLY and AA experience, since I don’t know what poor souls would use it outside of AA customers. So as others noted, app appears to have been programmed by a high school programming class. Like seriously, app appears to have a 10 year old design. I’ve used it multiple times now, still hate it. Not intuitive. At least it seems to have gotten faster at reading manual results, but even that screen is terrible, as the manual upload spot prefills but it so faint that I spent 5 minutes trying unsuccessfully to fill my name in until realizing it was, just so light of a font as to be almost unreadable. And then, even if you manage to navigate this mess of an app, chances are AA still won’t let you check in. Have you traveled to Europe? Sorry, visiting anywhere in the continent means you can’t complete check-in and your hour on VeriFLY was basically wasted.

Issues I have with VeriFLY. If I take the time to write a review it is either a very good review or doesn’t meet minimum standards of what is being advertised. Unfortunately this is not one of my good reviews. I just started using Verifly as suggested by Carnival Cruise line since I am sailing in 4 days as well as next August. For the 1st cruise, all of my information went in simple enough but when I went to complete the one for my 2nd cruise, I keep getting error messages to check the log. Since Verifly doesn’t have a phone number to contact, but only an email address, I find it very frustrating waiting for an answer. Also I am not the only one having issues. My friends who are also going on the cruise in 4 days can’t even get the app to work. They have even sent several emails back and forth trying to get it to work without success. With all this said, if a developer puts an app out, they should have a much better support system for the public to get help. Sadly, my friends and I do not trust this app and will be bringing our documents with us since Verifly is unreliable.

App needs to be updated like NOW. When creating VeriFLY Account, the user field names should be consistent with passport field names (First name, Middle Name, Last name). All user name fields should allow for blank spaces or hyphenation dashes so that the user full name is consistent with the passport document exactly. My last name is three words separate with blank spaces in between and matches my US passport. The only way for me to get my Covid vaccine record name to match the user name on VeriFLY app is to remove the spaces and show my last name as one word with the first letter of the second and third words of my last name capitalized. It was the closest roundabout way of showing my last name with three separate words which matched my passport, airline ticket, covid vaccine record, and covid test result. For my return flight from LHR to LAX, even upon getting a green check mark and a ready to travel status, the VeriFLY app needs to sync with American Airlines app in real-time. I have a green check mark and ready to travel status, but I cannot check-in for flight because AA says my VeriFLY status is incomplete. What? So now I can’t check in on my AA app. Totally useless VeriFLY app.

Why do airlines force you to use VeriFLY? It’s an awful app!. I recently returned from Dublin and was forced by American Airlines to use VeriFLY to upload my Covid test results. After spending considerable time in setting up VeriFLY, and uploading everything and completing the process, I got a message back that everything have been reviewed and approved. The message invited me to click on a link to complete the process. However in clicking on the link, I was taken to the beginning stage of the process. The app asked me to re-set up my account and have my picture taken, etc.. why doesn’t this app not have the basics like login and password so one can access the account? When I was traveling last year, I uploaded everything the airlines wanted directly to the airlines. It was much simpler. Why do airlines require you to use a third-party app? Since I was unable to complete the process, I had to stand in the long line to check in and get my boarding pass. It’s most aggravating when you invested so much time and effort in order to avoid that. So aggravating!!

Doesn’t understand the concept of time zones. You would think that an application and back office processing serving a global population would have the concept of time zones by default. But surprisingly, this application has no concept. With our Covid tests being handled by a global supplier the time of the test was provided in UTC (the standard approach for providing a globally consistent time). VeriFLY has no concept of this, and you can not specify the time zone of the test. Some of the back office providers doing the manual review understand the concept, and where able to translate the time in the first try (in my case), both others are clueless, rejecting the test results due to a “time mismatch” (for my wife’s test). Frustration of entering all the data three times, as the application in “intelligent” enough to prevent future times being enter (based on the local time of the device in question - which can also be manipulated, so an invalid test in any case). American Airlines should not be relying on a substandard partner like this for critical activities.

App does not accept compound Hispanic names. I tried to use this app several times to no avail. Deleted and reinstalled at least twice to no avail. I have a Hispanic compound name and the app states that my name is not valid, despite being well spelled as in my official papers. Wrote the name with a wrong spelling and it was accepted. Later, had issues with the PCR results that showed my name spelled right and the app didn’t accept it because of the different spelling on the app. Requested my name adjustment for the results and it was accepted! Then, American Airlines shows that my information on the app is not complete, despite the app stating that I am ready to fly after completing the required checklist. I reported the issue with my name about a month ago and still waiting to hear from them. Good idea that didn’t work when you need it. Very poor customer service (they never responded to my message or even recognized it).

Painful and unnecessary. Required by AA to check in and avoid their requirement to be at the airport THREE hours prior to a flight from the USA to Canada, this app is not available on a non-mobile device, where I was otherwise handling my check in. As I muddled through their opaque user interface, I was confronted with a pay wall to get “fast handling” of the manual review required of the image of my COVID vaccination card. Fifteen bucks - or else I could gamble that Verifly’s review of my card would get done on a Sunday before my early morning flight the next day. What a scam! I took the “skip this step” route and crossed my fingers. Within two hours, my information was processed and verified, and I was able to check in online. Granted, air travel has become a slog and a chore since 911, but AA did not have to add this unnecessary and time consuming app to the check in process. Not to mention that ANOTHER private company with whom I previously had no legal or business relationship, now has my personally identifiable information. God help us.

Companion Chaos. The app does not tell you that if you are traveling with a companion, you need to meet together with all documents to complete the verification process. My husband tried to check-in on his app at work, while I checked in on mine at home. The app would not complete our individual passes without the other, and repeatedly stated that my pass is complete but his is not, and his app showed that his was complete but mine was not. Neither of us could check in with American Airline or obtain boarding passes until this was resolved. Finally late at night before our early morning flight, as if we needed more stress, we both loaded the others’s vax info and passport plus a photo of our companion onto the app. Nothing in this process asked for his birth date, yet, it denied approval of his vaccination record because it states his birthday was incorrect. I entered his information again, and there was no opportunity to input his birthday, correct or otherwise. Upon arrival at the airport, my husband’s app displayed both our boarding passes, so we had to go through security and boarding like I was his child. When we arrive at our destination, I have no idea if they will let me into the country, send me out for a covid test, or WHAT. This is not helpful or expedient to our “relaxing” vacation.

Very inconsistent. Firstly, the “trip to the USA” option took days to show up on my wife’s app as an option for available passes. Secondly, we’ve been in Mexico for a few days and return tomorrow. Took our antigen tests yesterday morning. I went through the steps to upload my document for step 1 and submitted around 10:47am. Then did so for my wife on hers. She received an email and confirmation of the review to proceed to step 2 within 1.5 hours. I still haven’t almost 24 hours later. Called customer service yesterday afternoon to inquire if there was anything I could do to help the approval process. The rep, Angie, had me on hold for 10 minutes and did she couldn’t even find a record of my submission and it would probably show upon their system closer to the flight. Reiterated to her that this didn’t make sense as my wife was reviewed to proceed within an hour. Here we are knots 24 hours later and nothing yet. Both app and customer service are unimpressive. Have shared this with the AA platinum desk.

Doesn’t Pass Data Off to Airline Correctly, No-Existent Support. I needed to use this to be able to check in for my international flight online with American Airlines. I filled out everything for myself and my travel companion, and got the Green Check Mark/Passes for both of us in VeriFLY. Went to check in on American Airlines and it keeps showing my companion as incomplete. It shows me as ready though. I contacted VeriFLY support and was given a stock answer about Name, date of birth or record locator not matching. I verified all these were correct on both sides - AA & VeriFLY, still not working. Deleted the trip and started over, still no luck. Did it all on my companion’s phone with her as primary traveler, still nothing. Called AA and the verified that there was no mismatch, that VeriFLY just had not transmitted all of the info for my companion. They gave me a phone number to call VeriFLY, but it was out of service. Unless it fixes itself, looks like I’ll have to check in at the airport. Massive waste of time.

This app ruined my vacation. Avoid using it, it is unnecessary and more importantly inaccurate. I used it on a recent trip to the Cayman Islands and it states that a negative Covid test is required 24 hours before the flight to Cayman; the truth is that the negative result is required the day before. Because my test was 26 hours before the flight, an American Airlines agent would not let my family on the flight even though I showed her the correct guidelines on the Travel Cayman website. We went over to Cayman airlines, bought new tickets for a flight that left three hours later and showed all travel documents directly instead of using the VeriFLY app. This app cost me extraordinary stress, anxiety and almost $1000; there is no way I would have been allowed into the country had my documentation not been perfect. I want to warn other travelers who like me, don’t travel often and can be confused by all of the Covid guidelines.

Completely useless app. I had two trips to Mexico last week, each with four other people. During the first trip, it was the first time to use the App and it took us all quite some time to figure out how to use it and get the information in there. Therefore, it is not user friendly at all. Then we uploaded the test results more than a day prior to departure and the results were never confirmed prior to departure for all of us. They remained “pending”. For my second trip with a different group of five of us, I had to help all the other guys try to figure out how to set up the app and get the information uploaded. It was a major production. Again, not one test result was verified by the app: “pending” said the app up until take off. The app is worthless and can’t believe that American Airlines directs you to use it. My advice is to not use it and just take your test results to the ticket counter as it is so much easier. You don’t have to use the app so why waste your time?

Needlessly Tedious. This app is infuriating. I have now had 2 issues where the only fix is to delete our account and restart the whole COVID registration process. The first one is that VeriFLY retrieved our primary guest’s birthday wrong and we didn’t catch it until we were trying to approve documents with birthdays on it. I could change the birthday of everyone else within our group except for the primary’s for some absurdist reason. After deleting the account, resetting it, and entering all of our information again, the COVID approval step for one of our other party members has been pending now for 16 hours. This was unusual and I filled out a service request. Their solution? Delete the account and start over again. That seems ridiculous since the data was submitted to them. It seems like it would be easy enough to allow resubmissions or something but apparently no. The only solution is to completely start over for the 2nd time. This is obnoxious app seemed like an easy fix for COVID travel, has turned into an bureaucratic, poorly designed slugfest.

Maybe just a bug. I’ve used this app once in the winter of 2021 to go from the US to Canada and the check in process was flawless! It states it takes about an hour to process my negative COVID results and it was true. Now, I am preparing for a trip from US to Canada once again and everything was going well until Verifly couldn’t complete my form because I needed to confirm my citizenship (which I am a citizen of the US.) I couldn’t continue with my check in online because of the app locking the feature of me verifying my citizenship until 3 days before my return flight and after contacting customer support by email (kind of wish I was able to communicate by call, but email is the only form of communication it seems), they told me it would be best to just check in at the airport. I would’ve loved to have been able to save time by checking in online, although I understand how there could be a bug or two in an app. I do hope they can either fix this or revise it considering that us travelers would need to arrive earlier at the airport because of these issues. Hopefully everyone else will have a better experience and a safe travels!

Horrible experience with this App. This app is a complete joke. First, it is horrendously slow, then when asked to enter the date and time of our Covid test (the primary purpose of the app), it gives a range of dates and times to select from that does not include the dates when we had our tests. Entering dates and times that weren’t correct allowed us to move to the next step and upload our “proof of negative Covid test document,” which then indicated it would be scrutinized and they would let us know. About an hour later, we got emails indicating we could go online and check our results, which were not accepted, because there was a "discrepancy between the dates on our Covid test paperwork and the information we entered on their form." Luckily, when we got to the airport, this eVerifly step is not at all required, and our paper documents showing we’d had our test within the 72 hour window were more than sufficient. Any claims by eVerifly indicating they are simplifying the process for getting onto your flight is entirely and utterly false. We wasted 2 hours the night before and another hour the following morning, only to find this step completely unnecessary.

Very disappointed. I am very very disappointed with this app and inability to verify information after it’s been submitted multiple times and then the fact that the airline is not willing to allow you to check in due to the lack of verification from the app they chose to. I just try using the app again and it doesn’t work they need to re-look at the document verification format as it’s not accepting Covid test results and Covid vaccination cards that have been issued by the state. This is embarrassing because American Airlines should have an app that supports all types of documents that are given by all the states including international documents are uploaded in digital format.

Works well, once you surmount its poor usability. Recently used VeriFLY on trip from US to UK and Spain and back on American Airlines and British Airways. Checking in to flights in US, Spain and the UK showing my approval on VeriFLY made check in a breeze. Since I had uploaded my covid test, UK and Spanish travel plan documents, and vaccination status to VeriFLY in advance there was no need for me to show this paper documentation to the check in and customs agents at the airports. I was very pleased at how smooth VeriFLY made the process. However, the initial process of setting up trips and uploading documents in the app itself is very unintuitive and confusing. It’s pretty clear the app developers did little, if any, usability testing before launching the app. Or if they did, they tested it on engineers for whom the arcane process seemed clear. So give yourself lots of time before your trip to figure out how to use VeriFLY—like at least a week. If you try to use it last minute you are probably in for a world of frustration. Also, set up your trip in the app ahead of time, then upload all your vaccine, travel plan and covid test docs as soon as you have them—usually 48 hours before flying. Don’t wait until the last minute!

Agents verifying do not understand time zones on test result and keep rejecting. VeriFLY is extremely frustrating. Their agents do not understand how to interpret time zone notation. My family’s tests were done by EMed Labs using Abbott BinaxNOW COVID tests as recommended by carnival. The tests were done at 9pm local time but since the test result form shows date and time in universal time coordinated (UTC), the printed date showing it is UTC is the next date and 6 hours later. Even with submitting a note converting ITC to my Local time zone (central time) they kept rejecting 2 or our 4 test results (though another 2 listing date and time in local time were accepted). Bizarre. Rejection reasons are not helpful and no customer support phone number. I emailed support and wa stood to resubmit, and the last two tests were again rejected within 2 minutes even though support emailed me back after looking at the results being rejected and instructed me to resubmit. The employees verifying the information in test results need to be trained on time zones.

Useless. My flight is through American Airlines, but it’s operated through Japan Airlines. I need to put American Airlines as the airline because otherwise they won’t send my information to American so I can check in, but my flight is from Narita to Los Angeles. American doesn’t fly from Narita to Los Angeles. So it doesn’t allow me to put those as departure/destination points and it won’t verify it if it doesn’t match the ticket information. Nor will it even allow me to change the flight number to what matches the ticket. So this has already been a massive waste of my time. Additionally, in response to all the bots leaving reviews. How could it possibly be considered “last minute” when the entire point of this is so we can upload our Covid tests, which need to be taken 3 days before departure? Meaning most people aren’t going to get them back sooner than 1-1.5 days before departure. This seems to be the time table people seem to be uploading them on, as soon as they get them. And the app itself says you should be fine if you upload them 4 HOURS before departure. So tell why people aren’t getting documents approved 24 hours after uploading them and getting the blame put on them for doing it “last minute”. Make it all make sense. Useless app.

This app has gone downhill…not maintained properly. I used this a year ago and it was great. This trip is has been awful. Every time I open the app it’s like the first time I’ve ever been in it. There’s no login. After I pretend like I’m onboarding it recognizes I have an account and brings it up after email verification. And then it wants yet another passport style photo. Which I had already previously entered along with all my trip details. You’re not always in an environment to take a photo in good lighting with a plain background which is why I took the photo at home before I left for my trip. Made this app completely worthless to be able to check in. Also did not have the updated requirements for my destination. Had an old health site as a requirement when the site that destination used had been updated weeks before.

Needs more debugging. I recently returned from a trip to Italy. I had my negative rapid Covid test results and uploaded the document to VeriFLY. For type of test, I selected antigen. The other choices were PCR, which I knew was incorrect, and several other choices of acronyms. I submitted my document and other information and waited for approval. But my submission was rejected for wrong type of test. So, I resubmitted with one of the acronyms and it was rejected again. I am not a scientist, how am I supposed to know which type of test it was? I was recently sure it was antigen but the reviewers at VeriFLY rejected it. Obviously they don’t look at the uploaded document! I was able to find customer support within the app (a formidable task) and ask if antigen was the correct type of test. Their response was yes. Obviously the reviewers at VeriFLY don’t know what they are doing. By the time I got a response from customer support it was too late to resubmit. I had to go to the airport and check in there as American Airlines would not allow me to do it without using VeriFLY. I am surprised American Airlines relies upon VeriFLY as such an integral part of their check-in process. VeriFLY could be a very useful tool after further debugging.

What a load of rubbish 😡. Why at 73 years of age I have to add apps, upload a mug shot, and upload Covid certificates that I already had printed in readiness for a lousy 4 day cruise, when I could have simply handed the printed copies at boarding!!! ALSO why couldn’t P & O have asked for all this a week ago???? instead of the day before sailing👎🏻

Nice idea but requirements are woefully outdated. Given the limited range of applicable locations, app needs to be more regularly updated. Travel requirements are woefully out of date

Try changing anything-impossible. Try numerous times in hotline and they could not help Change my mothers photo as it was under my booking and my photo kept appearing with all her correct details. Gave up in the end!! Need a better app as elderly people don’t have smart phones!

Great customer support. I had a minor issue (that was not VeriFly’s problem) and I emailed them. A real person responded in less that 60 seconds on all 3 questions. Amazing service. Well done and thank you.

Worst app ever. The app wasn’t updating, so I deleted it from my ipad with the intention of reinstalling it. I had already uploaded my photo, international Vax Certificate and Covid test result. However, deleting the app seems to have also deleted all the data I had previously entered. I have lost my will to live! I won’t be re-entering it all. The cruise line will just have to view all my documentation when I check in. Don’t bother with this app.

Buggy and unintuitive.. I could not check-in because of system issues on the app. There’s also no contact information and the help documentation has no explanation on what to do. To the developer: Redo the UX and map out the customer journey to prevent issues like this from happening again!

Not user friendly for unvaccinated passengers. Travelling with a 4 year old for whom there is no vaccination schedule. When attempting to check in there is no selection for unvaccinated passengers so cannot be checked in. This will cause issues & delays when departing. Massive oversight which I can’t believe has not been fixed.

Lost everything. Uploaded our documents and details, was on the app for a week, now a week before our cruise all information has been lost, erased, I logged in again and no details came up, I have to start from scratch again, annoying!

For those who are able to use At Home Self administered RAT Test.. It was a bit of an initial struggle…, this is a copy of the main instructions I received from VERIFLY. This is for only those who are able to use a Self Administered RAT test at home. Read the next paragraph carefully then it will be a breeze. If you have an at-home Covid test you have to place the test result on a piece of paper with the following information written on it. • Last Name • First Name • Date of Birth • Test Date • Test Result • Test Type Once you write this information on the paper, place the test result on it, take a picture and submit that picture in the app. Happy travels

Very thorough. At first a little confusing and wanting a lot of information. But ver thorough.

Not User Friendly. Not user friendly. Very difficult and so many steps to submit my covid certifcate. I had to download an International covid certificate for travel in Australian waters. Very frustrating. No one to call and speak to for assistance.

Frustrating!. This app is the most frustrating I’ve ever used. Health declaration for two, but won’t allow for others. Hard to upload certificates for some but not for others. Ready to give up

Easy. Very easy to use and understand

Great digital platform. Easy to use great way to save time when travelling! I highly recommend it ! Go go mobile

Very Poor App. This is probably one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. In days of Apps being just another way of doing business this App is sadly lacking. It’d be faster and more user friendly using a pen and paper.

Very easy. VeriFLY is so easy to use and download, has made everything so much easier.

Don't rely on this app for your trip. Twice during the same trip the app lost all my trip data. Went through the steps to recover my account and nothing was saved. Almost left me stranded at the airport and missing my flight. Save yourself the trouble and just use printed information.

Very easy process. The process has been very easy to use,

Useless app. The app doesn’t work half the time and it is difficult to add or change information. The help link is also useless and doesn’t address even the most basic questions. Total waste of time

Quick & Easy. I found the VeriFLY app easy and quick to use.

Neil McLeod. The most stress inducing, infuriating app I’ve ever used. After completing all requirements ( which was unnecessarily difficult) the app told me my ‘pass is active’. Pressed on the ‘View Pass’ button only to be told ‘more actions required’. Then got stuck in a never ending loop. Absolutely infuriating.

Do not pay for express service. It doesn’t work. There is no phone number to ring them to resolve issues. Its just money for free for them.

Generic form?. Not fully up to date on my arrival requirements - the declaration is generic and would confuse some people.

Cumbersome and hard to use. This app really needs a web version, so you can enter data on your PC or Mac. The app is useful when boarding, but a pain to use for entering data and uploading certificates.

Back again. Excellent site easy to follow

Terrible.. The developers of this app should be utterly embarrassed. It has taken hours to get it to work, and I’ve lost count of the number of times I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app.

Single device app. Updated app on iPad. Tried to add to phone and no trip pass there. Went back to iPad and everything was deleted. It’s also telling me to add flight but very few airlines available. Waste of my time

Glitchy. This app is so glitchy. I have had to enter my details twice after it kicked me out. There is no way to edit what you enter is make a mistake. Needs some major work to make it work smoothly.

Awful. How is it possible to make something easy SO hard? Confusing, misleading and time-wasting. A poorly designed ap with badly edited instructions.

Worst app ever!!!. We used this last timer rebelled and it was horrible. This time was worse. I’ve done everything I can. The documents aren’t good enough but they’re screenshots from Medicare and NSW services. Additionally, you’d expect an app of this tour to keep data from trips before. That would take a lot of time and suffering out of filling it out. If you go back, you lose all the data you entered. I don’t know how many times I had to go in and out of screens. I’m having a nervous breakdown trying to do this. Is anyone taking note of your issues and improving the app…? Don’t look like it. Also, last time at the cruise terminal many people were having to show manual documents as they couldn’t use the app either. Horrible!

Verifly. A new system. Worked fine for me. Patience is required when completing each step. If instructions are followed correctly there are no problems. Only issue was I I don’t know where to upload my negative COVID test photo.

Glitches. Too many glitches with this app. Had to upload documents multiple times and few days before the trip it showed all documents missing so had to redo all the work. Not very trustworthy.

Waste of time. App works fine - mined all my personal info… but then made no difference. Still had to check in at the airport and produce all my docs for review. Maybe if you just go UK-US it’s beneficial. For me travelling via UK/US to other destinations, not so much.

Excellent. Excellent system and easy to use

Cruise ready. Easy process

Bad design. I have this app installed on my iPhone and so an account was created. Now when I go to install the same app in another device, I’m being pushed to create an account and I have been given no option to login to the same account. Of course I can’t progress as I only get an option to create an account the first time I load the app. When in the app, I can’t see which guest I’m modifying the details, and so in one case I loaded my photo for another quest. I can’t update the photo either. The same goes for the vaccination certification. I loaded the wrong certificate and couldn’t correct it. I had to wait for someone to review and decline before I can load the correct certificate

No issue set up. Easy to follow instructions

Cruise info. Health. Good site to organise all this information

Privacy policy is bad…. The 3rd question is asking to share your information with 3rd party and does not allow you to continue!!!!

Wont let you upload. Wont let you upload documents (unclickable links) and keeps rejecting every form of vaccine certificate. If there’s alternatives to having to use this frustrating app take it, this is just a waste of time and probably a security risk for your personal data.

Alright. Bit confusing at first..

Intuitive and quick. This works pretty well. I had to have a couple of attempts at some of the steps and if you have your travel details either as a hard copy or separate screen like a companion’s phone or an iPad then it’s even easier.

Horrific. Not a smart app. Doesn’t let you edit the names. May keep insisting something is wrong and doesn’t accept an upload to review. We should be able to upload the documents and some explanation in case there is a name mismatch so someone could review them, but it uses an inconvenient automated system instead. I tried my COVID check in over twenty times and still says there’s a name mismatch even though every single letter was written right. Will have to do an in-person check in anyway, so why use such an useless system?

Unnecessary, tedious, useless. App is unnecessary. Tedious process to Provide information, select flights etc. Tell the app your name, provide personal details, then tell it what flight you’re on, and then the app will amazingly tell you your name and what flight you’re on.

What happened to Sydney airport. I’m travelling to the US in January from Sydney on American Airlines and was advised by them to load the App. However when I tried to load in my flight details the app doesn’t recognise any airports in Australia. The app would appear to be totally useless.

Very disappointing.. Just downloaded the app and attempted to enter my Qantas flights but there are only 6 airlines listed and you can’t manually enter one that isn’t on the list.

Needs an update. I’ve found it extremely easy, only thing it needs at the upload proof of vaccination, is an option For under 12s not needing proof.

Don’t bother!. What a useless waste of half a day of my holiday battling with this app and BA. The app doesn’t let you enter a departure from Gatwick so is totally useless and this app is required by BA for online check in. Feels like I have been going round in circles all afternoon. I even went to Gatwick the day before my flight to get my on line check in working and the result - you can’t check in on line.

Pathetic data sharing app. I have a child to young for vaccination and when I answer he is not vaccinated it say he cannot travel. But am unable to say way or change. You are suggesting people lie to pass the verification. Just another app staring your data with everyone as a rouse for speeding up your checkin.

So bad. The first 5 minutes of using this app were enough for me to delete it. Tried to input my flight and it gave me three airlines to chose from. THREE!! Then I couldn’t get any further on the page because it froze. Junk app.

Useless App. User interface is terrible. Ask for nonexistent information. Sent me a message telling me to update vaccination information, but no link and no apparent way to do this. Don’t waste your time with this App

Why. Why do I need ANOTHER app to fly on a plane. This is getting absurd.

So not user friendly. This silly App… who ever developed it doesn’t have a clue, if something is so difficult to use, why bother. So after 3 days of attempting to complete I am one day before the cruise, still not complete. Waste of my time for sure

Not easily accessible. Not easy to use. Air Canada’s set up better

Waste of time. Why does American insist on using this useless program. The pandemic is over !!!

Not working very well. We entered all our information for myself and my husband. My husbands came back in minutes all confirmed. I waited a few hours, went to bed, next morning still not confirmed, still saying pending. Wrote company, told me to delete everything and start again. I did that. Now all has been accepted, check marks everywhere, but still no pass.

Only AA airlines. I don’t know what’s happening with this app. Only one airline to choose from? I’m sure that’s a bug but wow.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. 12 hours later, and my documentation still hasn’t been “verified”. You can bet if I chose to pay for expedited it would have been. Probably the most useless app I have ever seen. Read reviews on TrustPilot - I find it very suspicious they have a 4.5 rating on the app store

Garbage app. American Airlines make you use this useless app that does nothing but get your data.

App doesn’t work. I have tried several tienes submitting information. And trying to fill everything requested and never ever had the opportunity to submit anything. Doesn’t work with international flights.

Usage of app. Had to repeat info for one trip. Info for flight and then same info for cruise portion App should be able to duplicate info ie uploaded Covid certificates and pictures

Terrible app. Cruise lines should NOT be using this app. Is is unresponsive and unorganized. After uploading all my information and waiting for the email advising of my status, I opened the app the next day to find out that the information was all gone…. All fields empty!! Also does not allow for additional COVID boosters and therefore rejects your certificate because “it doesn’t match the information provided” Have not been able to find a way to delete unwanted trip information Does not have enough airlines listed.

Not all travellers are American citizens. Useless app that AA requires to be able to dl a boarding pass. Won’t accept a Canadian govt issued QR code or pdf vax. A lot of effort to only be forced to check in at airport. Rated O. Argh

The worst app ever. Makes Air Canada look great !!

This app is unnecessary. Just give up on the need to prove vaccination… I played by all the rules and was happy to get jabbed but your privacy policy sucks this app is crap and American Airlines forced you to use it to check in -1/10 I feel horrible for the people that pay without seeing the option to just wait….

Money making scam!. This app was created to fool you into paying them for their inability to upload PDF documents or read QR codes! Class action on its way!!

KB. Not user friendly

PITA. Most aggravating procedures EVER!

Glitch. I do not have a barcode type vaccine prove and the app won’t allow me to travel every one else got their boarding pass except me contacted customer service and told me to cancel my trip I’m no very happy

Easy. Simple and reliable 👍

Rip off and scam. It is absolutely obvious that your “inability” to read a pdf or a QR code and subsequent $9 charge is predatory and corrupt. I’ve now surveyed 100 colleagues and friends who all had to pay. Could be interesting class action?

Impenetrable mostly. Just had our 3rd booster ie. 5th vaccine!!!! And it won’t accept. Can’t read Canadian QR code. I’ve been doing this for an hour. Tell your programmers to get their act together!

Unable to complete. Since my return flight is over a month away, I can’t complete the VeriFLY steps.

Why do I need another app?. I’m not sure if it’s verifly or if it’s all American airline but I still need to check in at the airport. You shouldn’t need 2 apps to book a flight. And it didn’t even work.

No internet connection error. This has happened multiple times Where I submit my documents, then I get an email and it says it’s approved. When I open the app again it says no internet connection where as I do

Shame American Airlines for using this. Terrible experience. You need to create an account, verify email, take photos of yourself, upload vaccine documents.. all this to check-in a flight in 2023? They also charge you money to get faster verification. Took me 2 hours to get everyone checked in.

FLIGHTS. I am not flying after this cruise but the app will not let me state that…

Bad app. If I could give no stars I would… this thing isn’t working half of the time.

Terrible.. Doesn’t work to upload travel documents, vaccine passport proof, despite following instructions. Brutal.

Avoid at all costs. Will be my last time using American Airlines just because they made me use this useless outdated and unnecessary app (and I’m fully vaccinated for the record).

Helped out big time. Great service, very prompt and professional

Opinion. Please, keep track of our previous trip.

Don’t trust it. My trip suddenly disappeared without a trace and can’t be retrieved - very concerning when this is something needed in order to check in! This app has clearly been developed on a shoe string budget, which is unacceptable for something so important.

Verifly. Cumbersome. on Ipad I could not scroll down to choose airline so could not complete flight details. Did not accept Canadian QR Codefor Covid vaccination.

VeriFLY. I have had to input my information about 6 times, not just the vaccine information, but start from the beginning each time. For me, for whatever reason, it was very time time consuming and just frustrating. I would get a message saying my information was accepted, go check the app, only to find I had something to complete. And so I started all over again.

So bad. Not working well

Complete sht show. Royal waste of time. Shame on the app developer

Ridiculously bad. I have never been more aggravated by an app that we were told that we have to have, and it’s impossible to use. Doesn’t recognize Canadian vaccination status, we literally spent hours trying to have our information accepted, doesn’t give a proper choice of airlines, because apparently Canadian airlines are non-existent? I hope restrictions are eased soon and I never ever have to do anything with Verifly again. I would give zero stars if I was able to. It has been such a frustrating stressful experience dealing with Verifly.

Terrible. Absolutely a pain in the *** Had to upload vaccine information 3 times and it took all day to get my vaccine status confirmed.

Such a pain. It doesn’t sync properly with my flight itinerary so I can’t check in even though I completed all the steps.

They pulled up their socks…. But it still doesn’t appear to work. I cannot enter my cruise info. Doesn’t « find » the confirmation code and my name. That’s as far as I’ve got. Abandoning this as it’s only suggested by the cruise line. Thankfully not mandatory.

Is in spanish!!!. How do I change the language? The app is in spanish. My iphone is in french… There is no option to change the language.

Poorly written. This is a textbook example of when a reliable company (an airline) outsources a critical piece to the lowest bidder. This app doesn’t work properly. The user interface was designed by someone who doesn’t know the basics of UI design. It reflects badly on the airline that they force their customers to use this poorly written app before they can check in online.

Redundant. Why are we being asked to do this? Just traveled several times on similar trips in last few months and none of this was required. Far too complicated and unnecessary.

Terrible app. The app errors out when adding flights. No support

Awful app, inadequate information. If you want to waste an hour or two trying to enter information on this app, and not succeeding this is the app for you. The help section is of little use, a dismal performance. It needs to be redesigned. Doesn’t really rate even one star.

Vaccinations. It roils be helpful if the vaccination info transferred to the next cruise without needing to fining all over again.

Not used any more.. We were told that this is old and not used any more. Stop requesting us to use it.

Ease of use.. Very user friendly. Easy to complete the information.

Scam. How does this app have a 4.4rating with over 20k reviews and majority of the reviews being negative 1stars. How the hell are they charging to verify the vaccination. AA this is the last time in flying with yours airline bevause of this stupid process.

Clunky- but works for speedy entry from Aruba to US. Compared to the mess when we arrived in Aruba - this is a cake walk. When we arrived - even though we had the right tests and proof - we were railroaded into a queue to get a second test. It took 90 minutes to argue our way out of the airport w/o a second test and extra quarantine while we awaited the results. That was then... now, with this VeriFly App we were a quick check and allowed to go thru 2 customs (Aruba and US) in a matter of minutes. One tip: find an email or confirmation that has all of the information (your passport legal name, dr office of test, date/time of test, type of test and results). We were initially rejected several times using the ArubaHealth App screen shots - but no where do they capture all of the information needed in VeriFly.

Made trip home from Mexico super easy!. This app made the entire process of leaving Mexico to return to the US so easy. We were able to upload a screenshot of our covid test that we received at our hotel. It was verified within 30 minutes. Follow all the steps on the app and you are ready to head to the airport. Once we got there we were able to skip the line of people getting their tests verified and head right to check-in counter. Didn’t need a print out of the test or anything it was all done easily through the app. 5 stars!!

This is a very convenient way to travel on American Airlines. Contrary to the other reviewers, I had a very positive experience with this app. I’m literally in the airport now on my way to Honduras, and this app definitely helped speed the check in process along, particularly because I was not able to check in online before the airport. I was required to check in at the airport to show traveling documents. The AA staff looked at my app and saw I had all of the required documents and approved my check in. Sooooo convenient. I’m not sure why the other reviewers had issues, but I just had to write my experience. Give yourself a few days to upload your documents to the app.

WORST APP EVER. I haven’t even started my trip and customer support can’t help me. Submitted test results which the website claims they will be processed real time but after 12 hrs nothing showed up so I called and they said that it is within 19 hrs from the flight time but should call after couple of hours. Called 7 hours later and was told that I should call 6 hrs before the flight!!!! Called customer support to ask about the travel Authorization and the lady , Melinda, couldn’t answer my question and put me on hold then she probably realized she couldn’t answer so she dropped the call!!! Unfortunately big airlines bought into this app without checking the ability of the developers. SHAME ON YOU, you are wasting a lot of people’s time and causing anxiety to travelers who don’t need it these days.

You have to submit photo before the confirmation email will arrive in inbox. App needs to fix its interface and/or flow. Tried for week prior to vacation to get confirmation email and never did. The app says it’s sent but you won’t ever get the email until you submit that photo. Went against everything I believe in to submit the photo without getting the confirmation email first. However once I did it that way, confirmation email showed up by the time I switched to email app. We had to upload test results since we didn’t use a verified provider. I submitted mine and helped gf submit hers. Her approval was almost immediately, but mine took a couple hours before email arrived stating that test was approved. Like I said I submitted before her by maybe 10 mins. She has tsa preapproval if that maybe is what did it, I’m not sure. Pretty sure consented to cousins cousins uncles hair color or something. You will have to consent to quite a few things is what I am saying. Seems too reaching but will be required. Haven’t been to airport yet to know if it saved us any time yet.

Horrible experience. Told by British Airlines we must use this all to check in. Probably due to the mad rush of post-holiday travel but infuriating, nevertheless. We’ve spent literally HOURS filling out forms and uploading documents (our COVID test alone took about five resubmittals to be accepted) and achieved the “travelers pass” in the app stating we’re ready to fly. Now the British airlines app/website says, VeriFLY hasn’t let us know that your documents have been accepted.” Unless this takes HOURS (and it’s been a few), it’s apparently not going to happen before we get to the airport and it will ALL HAVE BEEN FOR NAUGHT. Very frustrating. No way to give any kind of feedback when rejections occur, just have to keep filling the form out and uploading the same darn documents over and over and checking your e-mail every ten minutes. Argh.

Broken app, bad customer service, uses PII inappropriately. This app ruined a full day of my vacation. Beyond not properly verifying my test results in a timely manner, the app didn’t send the finalized results to American Airlines, causing a total nightmare of check-in madness, with hours of ensuing confusion. Had I *not* used this app, I would have had an easier time checking in for my flight. Verifly made the process worse, not better. During the whole mess, I called customer service and the person with whom I spoke flat out lied to me (I caught her in the lie, she tried to backtrack, but it was too late). Also, the UI in the app is atrocious. It’s not just hard to use, it’s hardly functional at all. The company behind the app, Daon, is known for having notably poor security and tech, so none of the above is surprising. I suppose the only surprise is that American Airlines uses such an atrocious company with such an abysmal reputation. (Well, maybe none of it is surprising). Daon’s core business is identity management, which they do poorly, creating inconvenience for individuals and security risks for companies and governments. I’d advise people to avoid this app like the plague, and I will make sure to speak with my contacts at American Airlines to encourage them to cancel their contract with VeriFLY.

Much less helpful than you may hope. On a recent trip to the Bahamas I downloaded the app and submitted all of the documents for our return trip to the states. For two days it showed a status of reviewing covid test for approval. It had to be submitted at least 2 hours before the return trip back to the U.S. “ For Two Days it showed pending review. Then, at the airport, after checkin, after security, and one hour prior the flight, they sent an email telling me the description of the “Type” of test didn’t match and I had two hours before my flight to resubmit. Really? They waited until it was too late to do anything. I’m guessing who or what is reviewing the documents are clueless, probably an automated Bot. I had hard copies of everything and we boarded as fast as anyone else. Don’t waste your time with the app.

INCOMPLETE GUIDANCE. I just downloaded the app today. I haven’t actually used it yet, so I’m not sure how helpful it will be. Instructions were simple and straight forward. I uploaded a photo of myself and my COVID-19 vaccination certificate and it was verified within an hour. The complaint I have is particular to my situation. I’m flying from Thailand to Japan. I will be changing planes in Japan before my final flight home to the USA. The app did not tell me that because I will not technically be entering Japan, I don’t have to deal with Japanese customs. I have made this transition pre-COVID-19 but I was unsure. In 2021 I flew from Colombia to Mexico. I changed planes in a third country (Guatemala) and I was forced to pay for a rapid PCR test, though I argued with the official that I was not actually entering the country. I really think it was a scam by Guatemala to make money. This is why I was unsure. The help page was no help. So, I started to fill out the form on the Japanese website. But when I was asked details like “address where your staying”, “prefecture”etc etc, I realized that it was not necessary for me to complete the form as I would not be leaving the airport. I believe there should be some guidance regarding common situations like mine. All flights are not direct (point A to point B).

Vaccination Card should allow to take photo from back side. My first two vaccination shot records had two stickers and they covered all 4 lines on the front page of my card. So my booster shot was filled in on the back side of my card. But the system only asked the date of my first shot and my LAST shot. I did fill in the date of my booster shot as my LAST shot, but that does not match with my two shot records on the front page of my vaccination card. Should you consider to allow the camera or the file upload to take the 2ND page to show my booster shot? Or, should you change the questions to allow the user to fill in the dates more than two shots? Thanks!

Horrible non-intuitive App. I have used many Apps and websites and have never wasted so much time on an App to travel. In many cases the App does not actually lead or explain what to do. The Help tab again talks about options, but again doesn’t explain how to use it. Many of the icons to push to touch won’t work. There are no examples of what exactly the question may ask so there can be room for interpretation between countries. Tried contacting a Help Center and they had no answers or help for why their App doesn’t work. Still can’t check in for my flight because of the forms and Apps that do not communicate with each other or Sync. I have been at this for hours with no help or end to this madness. I will not use this again, American Airlines, VeriFLY, or travel overseas because of this nightmare.

Not reliable, but Functional if you’re persistent. Often shows error messages when going through manage flight but then functional when going through view pass, sometimes flight missing then 20 seconds later shows up. Document preview shows preview of previously selected file, not currently selected file when uploading COVID test results. On results have to turn on switch for shows DOB even when that field is not present. Basically it needs QA and at least a half dozen bug fixes before it’s production ready, but as a QA engineer I was able to work around these issues with persistence in order to get it to work. So with a little more development it could be ready for the masses. Basically this is a beta, with promise.

For the love of God - please don’t. First ever app review and with good reason. I read all the poor reviews but with travel being such a mess and preferring to spend time at home preparing to make it as smooth as possible and save whatever airport stress I can I got busy. App is clunky, then when all my items are approved and I’m ‘green’ to travel the AA app still says not complete please download Verifly! Called Tech support, 20mins later he fixed the comms issue and I could check in. My return trip did exactly the same, 30mins on hold they still couldn’t resolve and told me to check in at the airport. I did and it took maybe a minute more than the usual passport check in process showing my COVID test and attestation form. Please don’t waste a second of your time and do it the usual way. Verifly is nothing but a broken waste of your time!

Room for improvement. Your app is not intuitive. If a app is going to try to become the mandatory app for all the airlines it should focus on being quite user friendly and easy to use. I get the impression that you are trying to be all things for all countries, which I understand, but it is a bit difficult to do. The Covid documentation can still be improved. Oh, by the way, Small Pox was eradicated from the entire World in 1977. Even though someone needs to be watching for a possible Russian leak of deep frozen Small Pox virus. It is unlikely that VeriFly is going to be the one to break the news. As a physician, even physicians may not recognize it initially. By the way. There is not a Need to have a "nickname" on communications. However, it is effective in making giving you feedback more difficult. Good luck on learning how to make your site more efficient.

This app is not designed for unvaccinated. I would give zero stars if I could. The page layout and setup is confusing at best and will make you jump through many mundane hoops. As for uploading cards for vaccinated, it will take a while, typically a few hours for it to be approved (they offer speedy express for $15). However for those that are unvaccinated, they will reject any pcr or antigen test stating that you did not enter the correct time or date, or type of test given, and they won’t specify what part is “incorrect” in your negative test submission. Each time you submit they will take 1-3 hours until they “review” it again for it to be rejected. With one simple glance of airline staff they’ll approve it. This app is only convenient for the vaccinated that are tech savvy with funky apps.

A lot of work and still cannot check in. I am traveling internationally, and VeriFLY was strongly suggested to help streamline the process. I entered my first and last name into my profile on VeriFLY. Nowhere did it ask for my middle name. I got all my forms uploaded and approved, then tried to check in 24 hours in advance - unable to do so! I called American Airlines and asked them what the issue was, and they said I had to enter my middle name into the “first name” area in order for the record to match my airline ticket record. American told me I would need to delete the VeriFLY account I had and start over, adding my middle name in the “first name block.” I did that, then my forms entered had to be reviewed again by VeriFLY, since they also did not have my middle name on them. All my forms were finally manually approved, and I went back in to check in online. I STILL got the message that I was unable to check in online - something is still amiss between American Airlines and VeriFLY. A LOT of my time wasted with no positive result. I understand we are all doing the best we can, but these issues - I would have rather have back the two and a half solid hours of striving to get this to work. Thank you.

Horrible app. After a few minutes not being able to find USA or United States of America in the browse search, I went to the App’s review and read what a nightmarish experience people were having with this app. I don’t give a hoot, if this is a requirement for traveling, when the country I’m traveling to cannot even be found in the search field. That’s where this ends for me. Then, no contact-less traveling for me, my health docs are printed and this app won’t stop me from entering or getting anywhere!!! Are you insanely kidding me! Ps: first time I’ve written a review on an App. That’s how horrified I am with the functionality of this worthless App!

Covid Information. Required covid information is a little unclear. The preferred provider information they are asking for is very confusing as each country/destination runs different types or test & provides different types of result paperwork. I submitted the information that was provided to me from the lab then had to go back to the lab to ask for additional information. The app denied the initial information that was submitted then approved the additional information. Both of the documents had all accurate information on them. Including my name, date of birth, test results, location that test was performed & an Id/reference number for the test performed. The response time on this app was great, but I was highly annoyed that they didn’t accept my initial paperwork submitted.

Terrible waste of time. The app claims to speed up the check in process. Nothing if further from the truth. You waste so much time completing their steps. They tell you ‘ready to travel’. You try to check in online with your airline only to be told they you are not verified by VeriFLY. Try emailing their customer service and you get a riddle back as a response. Which takes another hour to decipher. Sending you on a wild goose chase of double checking your documents. Do yourself a favor; print your travel documents and arrive at the airport an hour earlier. You will in fact be saving yourself about 2 hours.

Need improve. Flying with AA is nice to have it. The problem is that some American counter agents don’t know how to use it getting frustrated and asking you to provide a COVID test. After you complete traveling pass they send QR with your name. The counter lady having my passport was asking to see my verifly picture Get confusing! I also experience problems on my return flight because I couldn’t figure out how to change the airport on the app. It should be that you can either select airport from drop down menu or delete the existing and write it. I couldn’t do it. The app can de nice with some fine tuning

Not easy to transfer devices. The strict requirement that customers can have an active session on only one single device is frustrating at best. But if security issues demand that, the process of moving from one device to another should be better. Unfamiliar with the app, I started my setup on my iPad. As my flight got closer, I wanted to organize everything on my phone. But when I did that, I had to start all over again! My photo did not transfer. The prior approval of my vaccination record did not transfer. Now that I’ve uploaded the last document on my phone, I’m still waiting for that re-approval in order to check in for my flight. Redundant process that is extra work for you and extra time and frustration for me.

VeriFLY is TERRIBLE!!. One star is too high but that’s the lowest rating I could give. Everything was smooth until I submitted the covid 19 paperwork for 9 people in my group. It went into “pending review” status 2 days before our flight but was NEVER reviewed. I sent in numerous support tickets trying to get the tests reviewed and approved, but support was slow and worthless, and the documents weren’t reviewed before our flight. So we couldn’t submit to American Airlines online. As a result, we had to print everything. Don’t waste your time using this app. It was time consuming to set up my group of 9 people on my trip, and proved to be a complete waste of time! Terrible!

Horrible process. Helped my mom work through the app to register her flight so I could check in and give her her boarding passes. I have no idea how non-tech savvy people are supposed to deal with this app. After inputting/submitting her negative covid test and all of the other requirements that are not necessary at all for her and her two travel companions, the app notified us that her info was approved. Then sent her a link saying “click here and we’ll take care of the rest”. After clicking, she got another page saying “I think you got here by mistake”. Unbelievably frustrating. Really hoping my American Airlines app recognizes the submissions otherwise it’ll be incredibly frustrating for my mom to have to check in at the airport herself rather than having her boarding pass already.

Warning **. Worst app I have ever used. Don’t bother even trying. I tried it and a friend tried it too on our recent international trip. Here is the tale of woe. I completed all the steps to enter info and photos for my wife and me. I had one more step to upload COVID test info. The next day all our info except our account and names had disappeared. We re entered all the info and added the COVID test info. The app indicated a status of “pending”. We checked back that afternoon, still pending, that evening, still pending, the next morning still pending. Total nightmare. No indications of any additional steps to take. I checked my airlines app and VeriFLY had locked my flight in pending status so I could not log in online. Eventually just went to the airport and manually did everything at the desk. VeriFLY seems like a god concept but it’s like it was designed and tested by high school students as a class project.

Don’t waste your time!. This app was a complete waste of time. My flight was from GDL to DFW on Saturday at 430pm. I took the COVID test at 138pm on Thursday and uploaded the result about 2 hours later. When the review for my test result was still pending at 8 on Saturday morning, I sent them an email. At the time of check in, I still hadn’t heard from them. My result was finally verified at 220pm. By that time I was already at the boarding gate. By the way, I did not get a response to the email I sent until 537pm, way passed my departure time (and the response was useless: I was told to call them!!) To sum it up, it’s better to show up at the airport a bit early with your test result and go through the normal check-in process. I saw no one in the VeriFly line because VeriFly does NOT work (the ticketing agent confirmed this). It’s much less stressful than having to deal with this ridiculous app.

Beyond useless. The VeriFLY was a complete waste of time. The American Airlines app directed me to download VeriFLY to expedite checking in for my flight back to the USA. I downloaded the app and filled out all of the personal information on the form to generate the VeriFLY pass. However, after I did this, I still was unable to check in for my flight online; the VeriFLY app does not actually communicate with the American Airlines app or website. I ended up having to check in at the airport (which was fine) but the staff never asked for the VeriFLY pass and just wanted to see the covid test results (which is also fine). What was the point of downloading the Verifly app if it serves literally no purpose? It was a total waste of time. It’s a third party company that collects personal information and does nothing for you in return.

The truth. Way too difficult ……this app took me several hours of time to fill in. A big big hassle …almost ruined our trip . Cost us a lost day visiting the Acropolis and over two hundred dollars for a hotel in Athens that I had prepaid for. This app is developed for ticket agents not travelers . We hate it! Your form is hard to accomplish on a small cell phone. I missed my flight even though I was at the PSP airport 2.5 hours early. I am very very unhappy with you and American Airlines. I had printed out copies of the forms with QR code’s which I filled out before arrival but the PSP American ticket agent manager Daniel only would accept your app. He was mistaken. The printed forms would have been just fine…. (as per the British Airways ticket agent in London) but who cares about a 70 year old retired guy and his wife going on a cruise to Europe. Definitely Not VERIFLY. This app is a walking disaster. Go Away! I hope you go out of business.

Great, if it worked.. Requested by Air Lingus. Well laid out app, but does not function well. When I was trying to submit the test results on the on the 8th, I tried to put in the test date of the 7th. It said the 7th could not be used because it was in the future (even though it was in the past and one of the three PAST dates offered). Tried later in the day and it accepted the date but when I was able to submit the results, it was rejected saying the date did not match the test results. It did. Re-submitted four times before it accepted, I’m still waiting for my wife’s to be accepted with identical information with a 10-minute time difference. This should not be used or required by airlines until it works properly! It makes a stressful time to fly even more stressful.

Too long for the results. We did our test 3 days ago and still trying to get through the process of inputting our information. It is cruise day and the they are reviewing my info. I paid for rapid results. Don’t want to have to take another test at the terminal because they are slow reviewing my results. I’m just worried this will continue to be a slow process I can’t afford. Hopefully they will speed up the process. It was a long wait also in our car at CVS to take the test. Clerk apologized. You basically swab your nose yourself and put it in solution, bag it up and give it back to the clerk. Fastest part of everything. Too bad the test results wasn’t that fast.

App needs lots of work. Like others, the app is not very intuitive. The Covid test document sent by the telehealth provider was accepted for me but then I sent for my husband. It was rejected. Finally got the app to accept the document (probably tired of me submitting). Overall the app needs lots of work and some customer support. The second time we tried to use the app, my COVID vaccine review was not completed. We waited for over a month. When we reached out to the company support, the only solution was to delete the entire trip and start over. It is sad that they don’t have customer support that can help you through the process or a way to trigger something on their side has fallen down and needs to be revisited. For a product that travel companies are requiring you to use, it should work better and have a better customer support.

Fairly useless for multi-leg international travel. The app is fairly useless for multi-leg international travel through another country. Both British Airways and American Airlines endorse the app which means that their flights are available in it, but the app doesn’t allow configuration of a multi-leg multi-flight trip which takes into account just transiting through an international airport like Heathrow. If you create two “passes” for an international multi-leg trip the checklists required by the app won’t let you bypass the national entry requirements of the country the transit airport is in. With all of the Covid testing and related forms and entry requirements it’s nearly impossible to have a “good to go” checkmark for each of the legs unless you fill out a bunch of unnecessary and useless paperwork which is not needed because you will not be officially entering the transit country.

Waste of time & effort!. This app is a complete pain in the rump! It is not easy to use. It is completely useless if you have a name with an apostrophe and your test results have an apostrophe, because AA doesn’t like apostrophes and you can’t use it when you book! So the your documents don’t match because of an apostrophe and VeriFly gives you a big double barreled middle finger! I wasted over an hour trying to get it to work without success when the ticketing agent was able to take care of everything in 5 minutes! She even rolled her eyes & laughed when I complained about the app. She agreed that is a waste of time & it’s the most common complaint she hears. Don’t even bother with it. Even with experience as a software developer I couldn’t get it to work because of the inconsistencies between the systems it is trying to bridge.

Horribly Bad and Frustrating. I downloaded this app in order to upload information for Covid testing and to complete entry documents for American Airlines flight. On the outgoing trip there was a huge delay between when I could board and when I could upload any information. When you plan to travel late, have TSA pre-check and want to head straight for the gate this app really misses the mark. Especially during an early morning flight. It finally allowed me to upload the information, but by then it was too late I was already on my way to the airport. On the way backAmerican Airlines kept directing me to the App which continue to not recognize any of my return flight information. If I could give it a zero I would. Whoever developed this app clearly doesn’t maintain it an American Airlines should dump it so that it doesn’t continue to reflect poorly on the airline.

Another useless app. This app needs an overhaul. It’s not clear where to add documents, the “my documents” section is empty and has no button to add them either. When selecting my airline it doesn’t contain my dept/arr airport in the list (apparently according to thr app BA doesn’t depart from anywhere but 2 airports in London, although I’m departing from Amsterdam?!), meaning I can select/add that part of the flight. It says US permanent residents don’t need proof of vaccine to travel to USA, but then doesn’t issue any conclusive documentation, so that my airline would allow me to check in, since their online check in sends me to verifly to upload and verify all parts of my flight(!) Overall the app is useless and a waste of time, adding nothing good to the airlines already since 2020 existing inabilities to provide solid online check options… thumbs down. Sorry.

Not satisfied with this App. My opinion is this App is insufficient to be able to use more than once. I used VeriFLY on two other occasions, last was 9 months ago. When I went back to log in for an upcoming trip it did not have my credentials saved and required a new account creation. I thought the first one was a fluke so I simply used my work email to create another account and uploaded all my credentials again so that I could travel. This time, it’s the same. The App will not allow me to sign in to a previously created account— only to create a new one. I do not have a third email address to use so it’s not allowing me to create a new account with a previously created email address. Bummer. It was a good app otherwise.

Not sure where to start or end!. After using this app, you will understand the review title. 1. How did Apple allow this app in the store? Didn’t ask to use the camera, but it uses the camera. Can a complex virus be made more complicated … give a group of software developers a chance to make money by writing an app that works for every country that American Airlines flies … yes, this app succeeded. 4. The last statement you will read before an approved pass is “…you… have no COVID symptoms”. If you have sneezed or had a runny nose in the passed 24 hours … you have symptoms. Almost every lies to complete the form. Have fun traveling!

Pointless app!. On my way out of DFW airport to Jamaica, the AA agent who checked us in didn’t ask for verification with the app and when I asked her if she wanted to see it she said no she just needed to see my Jamaican travel authorization letter and my passport. On the return trip, I still couldn’t check in on the AA app because it required me to upload info to this app. I uploaded my negative Covid test as well as my companion’s. It took 8 hours for them to verify my test and it’s now been 11 hours and they have yet to verify my companion’s test. How can the use of this app be required to check in when it is clearly unreliable??!! Both results were uploaded within minutes of each other, but only 1 was verified and we can’t check in for our flights bc of the crappy response from this app?! That’s not acceptable!

A bit complicated. The process was frustrating and slow, but I’ll chalk that up to slow internet speed in Costa Rica. The complexity centered on uploading test results, particularly because my test QR is on the phone I was using to complete the VeriFLY questionnaire (despite scanning from another device, it would not accept my Abbott binaxNOW QR which meant screenshooting the emailed certificate to upload to VeriFLY). Additionally, note that once uploaded, your results need to first be reviewed and accepted by VeriFLY before you can proceed with check-in. Their disclaimer says it may take no less than 60min. I paid the $7 per person for piece of mind and had things finalized in about 15min. Definitely not a last minute chore.

completely non intuitive app even for IT savvy folks. When you have more 1 star reviews than all others combined, you should realize you have a very bad product. Something is not clicking. Remember folks uso g this app use it one every few months, not someone who uses it daily. In my business if a team had a 2.7 star rating, the entire team would be changed. example is i already had a pass to US a month back. Now i am trying to add another one. do i add another pass or modify my old one. there are 2 pass types to US , one says pass to us, other says single traveller. if i add the pass to us, it then makes me fill everything out and if i don’t add a family member, i’m stuck. it tells me i still need to upload my covid details but no link to press to upload it. i finally figured out i guess i just need to update my old pass. Take your app to no. technical folks and ask them to use it. Hear their frustrations, where they get stuck and fix that. And do the same for repeat travelers so you fix all scenarios. The behind the scenes validation works wonderfully and i have to acknowledge that.

Worked okay - got the job done. I wasn’t going to use Verifly after reading the reviews but I couldn’t check in online with American so I gave it a try -for travel from US to Canada. The process is a bit clunky -forces you to take a selfie for a photo (couIdn’t add a professional photo from my phone). It took me several tries to figure out how to get the documents in - no way to access iBooks and the iCloud access didn’t work. Ended up taking screenshots of the documents and then loading as photos. Vaccination validated in real time - test result validated within a couple of minutes - AA record updated in about 5-10 minutes.

Very glitchy. This app could be a lot more intuitive. First, what is a pass? That isn’t common jargon from the user standpoint. After I figured out how to add a pass it wasn’t too bad. Untimately though the app is a failure as I was not able to accomplish the purpose of the app. I submitted my test and they could never get it past pending. When I called in - I removed my pass...added a pass...added a trip and uploaded the test again. They could not find my records on their end. I ended up uninstalling and starting fresh all over- totally from scratch. When I added my covid test results I got an email each and every time but customer service simply could not find my record and therefore couldn’t approve it. This absolutely did not work even after an hour with. Support (who was very friendly and doing his best).

Works Great!. This App puts all the information that needs to be checked in one place and in a unified format. This makes it easier for the airport personnel to quickly check and verify your test results. You have to load all the information into the App yourself, including the COVID test results. Follow the directions, complete your profile, create a “trip”, make sure ALL the boxes are complete. Tip: I took a photo of the paper copy of my test results, then did a screen shot to convert it to a jpeg, cropped it down and then loaded it to the App to be be verified. When I got to the airport, I pulled up my “trip” on the VeriFLY App and the personal easily and quickly reviewed my test results.

Needs to be better. My husband and I went to Jamaica on our honeymoon. Using this app was honestly ridiculous. Yes it is easy to upload everything onto it but it was extremely frustrating that our covid tests were not confirmed until last minute. Leaving Jamaica to enter the USA was the exact same thing. Being out of the country and on a resort I cannot make a call on my phone so I had to email the company. We were told before we left for our trip, when we called, that the confirmed covid tests are not verified until 12 hours before the flight which is honestly ridiculous. We are still waiting, 5 hours before our flight to leave and we are still not confirmed. This is app stressed me out more than helped me out.

Inept/Misinformed Staff at Boarding. My family completed all necessary covid vaccinations and tested negative 2 days prior to boarding. We downloaded ALL required info and were given the green “ready to sail” on the verify app. At boarding, verifly staff told us my 11 year old daughter had to be covid tested again that day. We were sent all the way back out to the testing tents where we waited for 30min to be told she DID NOT have to be tested again. We returned to the verifly desk to be told yet again my 11 year old needed same day testing. Luckily a Holland America medical professional overheard the conversation and told verifly employee my daughter did not be tested because she had been vaxxed & boosted. This whole ordeal added about 2 hours of stress and delay, when using verifly was supposed to make boarding faster.

Overall HATE this app right now. I have NEVER reviewed an app but today I seriously HATE this app. If traveling solo, it might be awesome. When traveling with companions, it is a nightmare. It does not play nice with AA app in such a situation. Three highly skilled professional adults (pilot, architect, tech specialist) in our group spent an entire day trying to get it work. Sitting at the gate now and still can’t get digital boarding passes to add to wallet. Still saying we aren’t fully verified. We have already gone through Priority check-in, breezed through TSA Pre-Check, and STILL can’t get app for AA & VeriFLY to work together. I will update review IF and EVER this ever works in the future. BTW, this “group” has traveled literally all over the world and this is the first experience where we had to use VeriFLY. In theory, it would a breeze. In reality, it’s been more like a tornado for us. Good luck, users.

Not well designed if you make any errors. Very frustrating. Got an error message after uploading the immigration forms. Error was “flight info does not match” I had enter the flight number of my arriving flight into Colombia and apparently it wanted the flight number for the initial departure. When tried to go back to fix it had to start over and reenter lots of detailed info only to get another error saying that I had already submitted a form and can’t resubmit another. The app is not intuitive to try to figure out how to fix any errors on immigration forms. Also it would not show me how to upload Covid vax info for minor child until I completed the immigration form. So got stuck. I’m a professional who follows detailed instructions for a living and still could not figure it out.

Fine WHEN they manage to verify tests. We have now used this app for 4 flights. It’s a hot mess. Twice our covid tests were verified immediately but only after deleting and reloading (possibly helped that I finally uploaded at 4am), once they were never verified and remained in pending status forever. We are attempting our fourth try now. It’s not looking good. Emails to support get no response. The app is clunky and slow as well. For the only online verification app for a couple of MAJOR airlines that is being tied to online check-in, the lack of functionality and the poor manual handling of test reviews is simply unacceptable. If the airlines want travel to resume, they need the app they are insisting customers use to resolve these issues. I won’t fly again after the disaster of wait lines I saw in the airport on this trip until they figure this system out.

This app is a must for Travelers !!. I travel regularly for business and vacation and VeriFLY has been my good travel companion irrespective of where I’ve travelled. VeriFLY works and is recognized and accepted by airlines across countries. I’ve travelled to Europe, Latin America and within the US and when I present my VeriFLY pass, checking-in is a breeze. Customer service at VeriFLY was also great, quick and responsive. Less than an hour after submitting an enquiry from the app I had a response from a person at VeriFLY that was courteous and was able to resolve my question perfectly. This quick response in turn allowed me to fly that same day. I highly recommend VeriFLY !

Approval deleted. Total waste of time. American recommended the app for faster check-in for our return flight home from St. Maarten. Our party of 4 each uploaded the app. The app is slow and took forever waiting for the spinning wheel of death to stop. After trying for one day, it finally worked and I was able to finish the process. When we got to the airport, only 2 of the 4 of us were able to show the accepted, ready to travel, results. The other 2 had their results deleted and the app was prompting them to get started again. Luckily, there was no line at the check-in counter and they had time to fill out some paperwork. HORRIBLE APP! (Edit: looks like the app doesn’t want my one star rating. Every single nickname I have tried says it’s already been taken. So I will give it 2 undeserving stars to try and get this to post.)

VeriFLY review. Only works for specific data and doesn’t comply with some of the cruise line rules for COVID testing. For example, I had COVID within 90 days of our cruise. The cruise line rules stated I didn’t need a test. I just needed to show my positive test results and a doctor’s letter stating I was okay for travel. There is a date for testing in the app but it only has the current date so my data was not accepted. I wasted a lot of time loading four people’s data into the system only not to be able to use it. There was nothing in the instructions stating this. The only thing they said was unvaccinated people couldn’t use the app. I was vaccinated but still had COVID within the 90 days of my cruise. The cruise line told me I still needed to bring all my paperwork anyway even if I could have used VeriFLY! What’s the point then? Maybe better for flying but I can’t say yet as flying was not needed for this trip.
