Excellent Support. I have used Quicken for almost 20 years. But wanted a simpler application that I could use on my iPad. I have low vision so I don’t always read things correctly. I had a difficult time setting up the app. Customer service was extremely patient with me responding rapidly and with knowledgeable information to help me get set up. I’ve only had the app for three days but I’m looking forward to learning more about it and helping keep my finances straight. It’s a very economical app with good information. I would highly recommend it for anyone.

Love it. I am an experienced financial software user, starting with Quicken decades ago. I never liked the Quicken smartphone app as it was really a tag along to the desktop. I tried several smartphone apps, and finally found MoneyWiz (I used the older version first and eventually upgraded to the latest version). The program is totally reliable. I am a CPA and track both my personal and side business finances on MoneyWiz. The auto updates ALWAYS work, and every time I find what I think is a big, Paul responds very quickly to me and shows me that it isn’t a big, but rather I didn’t understand something (like the report date on one report wasn’t month end). I am a fanatic about accuracy and have spreadsheets set up the automatically update based on reports generated by MoneyWiz, and everything is always in balance. This was the first time I didn't have to change a money management program after first year or two!

Credit Cards report NON EXIST. Errors REPORT and GOALS!. I am an accountant and the app, to be the best, needs improvements and functions. 1. A pillar in personal finance is the proper use of credit cards, this application does not have any report related to credit, to court, to payment to court. 2. In the reports, where the subcategories are detailed, everything appears! both category and subcategory in the same line and that makes the report look not so professional and sometimes you don't even know which subcategory it is. 3. When pdf reports are generated, the amount does not appear. 4. Goals and objectives must be included, it is not feasible in budgets since not all income goes to an objective or goal, and it does not allow transfers to be part of the goals, that is, if you transfer from cash to a savings account it is impossible to take that counts as saving for a goal.

Will not update accounts: Revised review. The layout is nice, and the interface is fairly user friendly. However, the app has not updated my balances in almost a month…reached out to the so-called customer care team via chat over 3 hours ago…crickets. I’m updating this review…it seems that the problem was not with the app, but with the connectivity platform. I did hear from the support team after I posted this review, and they were very good about keeping me informed. So thank you!

Multi Sync Engine. The marker has been flooded recently with personal finance apps. One of the challenges with a lot of apps is their reliance on sync engines. Most default to Plaid, which has its pros and cons. MoneyWiz however let’s you choose between Plaid as well as Yodlee, which enables a lot ,ore options. Sure, you have to fiddle a bit with what might work best, but by far, it’s one of the best things I’ve found from any of the personal finance apps. Yeah, the user interface could use a bit more polish, but at the end of the day data is where it’s at, and MoneyWiz connects you to the data.

I love everything about this app, except sync.. Best looking app I’ve found. Intuitive, great functionality, well thought out and easy to use. I have it a go for a few weeks. The app unfortunately doesn’t keep up with my bank and is 4-5 days behind. I deleted everything and started over and it caught up, only to stop syncing again. Could be an issue with my bank, so it’s not a knock on Money Whiz. However I did trouble shoot and followed the instructions per the “do it yourself” help menu. That didn’t seem to work. Reached out to customer service and they sent me a link back to the websites help menu and to reach out if I had any questions. I don’t have time to mess with it. Moving on.

wow... Severly disappointed. Opened the program, excited to add another new credit card account with chase to my chart of accounts, went ahead and added it to my accounts by linking through chase bank & plaid, only to find out that all of my existing bank accounts with chase have now been duplicated. Tried to delete the duplicates, it has now screwed up all of the balances on accounts that are completely unrelated... are you serious? Great app, great concept, horrible support/nonexistent from their website. MAJOR FLAWS. One mistake like this could cost you an entire weekend to fix the damage it did. Absolutely horrible experience. I've honestly never felt more annoyed with an app in my life. One small mistake and everything is completly ruined, all that work renered completely useless. IF you heed my caution, unless they fix stuff like this, you should stay away. It has a great appeal to someone who is business minded or trying to stay on top of their complicated finnances HOWEVER this is a landmine of an app, step on the wrong bug, and youre entire financial well being might as well get blown to pieces,(fragmented, worse off and more complicated than how you started). If you ignore this warning then to you I say, Goodluck!

Using for cashflow forecasting - really impressed so far. Rather than budgeting, I wanted an app that I could put all my regular/known/recurring expenses into and forecast my bank balance against my a fixed bi-weekly deposit. I tried several other competitor apps and in the end I decided on MoneyWiz. Really impressed so far! Love the fact I can copy-paste import transactions from my bank's website, and love how smart it is abuot things like "remembering" and remapping payers to payees.

Terrible Experience with this App (though hopeful for it's future). THE GOOD : The potential and current interface is great....I was hoping for a one stop landing pad to monitor bank accounts and multiple credit cards; a better designed and ad-free version of Mint THE BAD : immediately the iOS apps were out of sync with the MacOS app. And then 3 days later, the MacOS app is not synced with my bank after app quits/restart. I did receive prompt email tech support, but the process to 'reset' the MoneyWiz cloud between devices is clunky, and truthfully, is completely overly complex and challenging to the average user. It's 2021....users expect consistent and fool proof cloud sync between Mac OS ans iOS platforms, and many many app systems continue to offer this. So frustrating. So, I'm going to cancel my subscription and consider the wasted $4.99 as a downpayment for improvements in the near future.

Great app/superior support. I came over after using a competitor for many years. I found the switching process smooth and customer service is extraordinarily responsive and cleared up all the questions I had. My chief love is it is completely the same experience acrosss mac and ios - it now makes no difference to me at all whether I'm working on phone or desktop or ipad. That is simply huge and something the competitor just couldn't do. The four aggregators mean that accounts the competitor couldn't automate now automate smoothly. The interface is good looking and easy to use. I personally find the reports the weakest link in the chain, but they are good enough, and I can find ways of doing everything I want, even though not always as smoothly as I could before. All in all, a very good experience and definitely highly recommendable.

Love this app!. Former iBank/Banktivity user of 10 years here. I recently had my banktivity software crash on me and become unusable and my software was outdated and obsolete. After reading all the poor reviews of Banktivities newest software I started looking for an alternative. At first glance of Moneywhiz 21 I was a little intimidated. It looked clean but complicated compared to what I was used to. Bankitivity used to pride itself on looking like Apples aesthetics. Thats what hooked me back in the day. I dowloaded the app and to my surprise it gives you the ability to try the app in demo mode before subscribing. I played with it for a week with a mockup of my account and budgets and man was I stoked about how simple and intuitive it is!! It also runs like a dream on my new iphone 13. Also when you open it on a Mac it looks identical to your phone. Layout, colors, etc. even the cloud sync is flawless. I remember Banktivity being so complicated and you never knew when a glitch would occur during sync and you'd have to wipe it out and start over. That happened several times back in the day. Get this app you wont regret it!!! Im actually excited about goals and budgets again! P.S. Im also a new Robinhood user and having your brokerage linked to Moneywhiz 21 is super slick. All of you finances all in one place.

This app is a mess.. I was trying to move from another app because I need a better way to do my budgets; I have about 3 years of transactions stored in the other app, which can export to CSV and QIF. First mess happened when I tried to connect my accounts online. I was dissappointed when I noticed only 20% of my accounts can be linked to the bank (and btw is the 20% I use the less), the other 80%, including big firms like HSBC and Apple Card need to be handled manually, which makes it not worth buying the premium plan. For the 20% of accounts that I was able to connect online, second mess, because all the transactions are wrong: final balances are adjusted to match the current balance, but if you go a couple of months in the past there are dozens of missing transactions and wrong types (e.g. a payment to a credit card shown as an expense in the credit card)... all of these accounts coming from 2 different banks (PayPal and Chase) turned out to show balances of hundreds of dollars in the previous months (I wish I had that credit limit!). And finally, importing QIFs and CSV is another mess: this app does not like times or negative values. When importing a QIF, about half of the transactions I imported (out of hundreds of them) were multiplied by 100, so I had to manually go to each one to adjust the value. Then there's also the thing about the 7-day trial... that's only about enough time to finish importing everything.

best app for forecasting cashflow and future balances. This is by far the best app for forecasting cashflow and future balances, considering both recurring deposits like pay checks and regular bills, one-time scheduled transactions user can add for anticipated major expenses. That is a vital part of sound financial planning. Other apps show budgets and historical data, or average future balances, but not day-by-day all the way out for a year which is essential to ensure balances are kept positive and lets user decide how much can be put into savings/retirement accounts or when a shortfall might occur needing a reverse transfer or delaying a big purchase.

Great, but needs Biometric Login on Mac. I recently returned to MoneyWiz from Quicken as Quicken has seen little improvements over the years, yet has now almost doubled in price. Some accounts are better at accurately providing up-to-date transactions, and some like my US Government Social Security account are either not supported or don't work very well, but at least MoneyWiz keeps updating. But, now that Macs have had Touch ID for some time, please, please, please add that feature ASAP. Quicken's iPad and iPhone apps still don't support Dark Mode while MoneyWiz does. I know to some that is merely a cosmetic thing, but on mobile devices, it really helps conserve battery, and since I use both apps late at night frequently, it also helps the eyes. Although reserchers say it helps when it comes time to go to sleep, I find it far more pleasant to use than Quicken's bright white and blue screens in the evening.

Horrible Syncing feature.. As the tittle says. I would not waste your money like I did on the premium version of this app for the Bank/Financial institution syncing feature. As many other reviews have stated this feature is inconsistent and unreliable. Way more often than not, when you sit down with the app to go over your finances you will find that your transactions of your accounts are not up to date. You will find that your accounts have not been updated by many hours to a day or so. This makes it impossible to get an accurate account of where your at financially at any given time using this App. You can update your transactions manually, but that negates the reason for subscribing to the premium version of this App. The App has several choices for which third party vendor you want to use for syncing to your accounts. For the USA/Canada the vendor choice is “PLAID”. This is the one I use. I have seen in other reviews that the developer says they have no control over the way the the third party company handles the syncing and that all they do is incorporate this feature into their App. Well, the problem is that I paid my subscription to MoneyWiz not PLAID. So please don’t advertise and charge a premium for a feature in your App that doesn’t work properly. Other than that its a decent App. Thank you. Update: That’s fine. But please disclose/advertise this deficiency in your promo/app description so consumers can make an informed purchasing decision. 🤷‍♀️

So far, so good. I really liked PocketMoney 2, but it was “bricked” during an OS Update, so I had to switch to another. I tried Money Monitor, which stunk, but I had to use something in a pinch. I like MoneyWiz, because it has more customizations and looks better. I just want 2 things. I want more font sizes that are larger than the 3 that are offered, and I want a column for Total Values next to every recorded transaction in the summary view, just like in the spreadsheet view. Also, I want to be able to display Available Balance in the Credit Card Accounts. Do that, and I will give 5 stars.

Great at first glance. I have been looking for a personal finance application and thought I had found it with MoneyWiz. Once I subscribed to their “premium” features it was simple enough to link all of my financial accounts in one place. I began to notice Money Wiz did not match my actual account balances for my individual accounts thus giving me wrong balances. I had to go in and change individual charges for most if not all my accounts to correct type of transactions. Since I have a multitude of accounts this was taxing and unwarranted for the price you pay. Furthermore, their budget/expense setup was too complicated for me. After a week of attempting to actually not only wanting the application but trying to make it work for me, I decided this app isn’t for me. It has great features and if it wasn’t for their few kwirks I would have kept it. 2 star rating because I actually liked the app.

Great, BUT. Been using this app for about a year. Many great and frequent updates. Support has been great. Now for the BUT. I use Plaid at $50 per yr and it has been driving me crazy. Plaid decides when and if it will access your account for an update. Many times I have to wait two days to get an update to my account while the actual bank for credit card account has been updated 1-2 days. Sorry, MZ, love your app and would like to stick with you, but Plaid is not worth the $50 a year. 5 Stars for the app, minus 1 for Plaid. Update: Tried Yodlee for bank connection and it only allows so many connections per day, approximatley 1 per 8 hrs as far as I can tell. Just an FYI.

SUPERB. After 15 years with MoneyDance, I had enough with the poor reconcilation / bank syncing issues. I could NEVER balance my checkbook and always had a "balance entry" that never made sense. (I am an accountant; don't think the issue was with me). After looking at several other paid and free apps, Money Wiz is the solution for me. I have had no issues once I got my initial downloads reconciled (for some reason my bank did not download a monthly payment for a credit card, so I had to enter those). It's so obvious where I am and what is coming up now. Moneydance has not kept up, despite the glowing reviews but MoneyWiz needs better publicity. Support is reponsive, patient and on target, without the normal condescending "it works for everyone else".... With MoneyWiz, everything just works, like it should! Thanks for the excellent support, product. Looking forward to 15 years with this tool! Steve in Rochester NY

Great, supported, financial app. After using a different product for more than 10 years, it’s new developer decided to change the model of the app, so I had to look for something new. After trying quite a few different ones, I landed on this one. It does most of what I need in a usable format. It has bells and whistles, but not too many to make the interface clunky or unusable. Plus they listen to feedback and implement changes and fixes quite often. Great developer, great app.

Phenomenal app!. I have been using Moneywiz since MoneyWiz2 and each iteration has been amazing! This version is the best yet with the ability to view varying financial reports clearly and with multiple devices— I have a Mac, iPad and iPhone, so no matter which device I am on, i can get a clear view of my finances fluidly. I have not checked out the online banking options yet, as I am from a relatively small town and most likely my bank will jot be listed as an option, but I am sure it is amazing.

full featured money management. A great alternative to Quicken. PROS: - Automatic bank feeds powered by Plaid supports most financial institutions. - Table view of transactions for bulk editing. - Works on multiple devices and settings are synced. - Support for investments. CONS: - Unpolished interface. It is clunky and in your face with big, colorful icons. It definitely does not adhere to modern design trends. It waste so much space. - Cash forecast calendar is not useful. It is just a tiny sidebar under the schedule page. To see the forecast amount for the day, click it and a tiny pop-up shows you the balance for every account but requires you to scroll. I have used MoneyWiz in the past and seem to recall they once had a full calendar, not a sidebar. - Useless cash forecasting report. If you choose by day, it tries to squeeze 30 days into a horizontal bar graph. Bar graph is the only option. It would be more useful if you could then choose a weekly time frame, but month is the minimum you can choose. - Slow syncing - No renaming and categorization rules to automatically rename new transactions

Great Product, Excellent Customer Service. I have been using Quicken Mac for quite some time now, but I feel that the software is becoming too complex and not as user-friendly as it used to be. Recently, I switched to MoneyWiz and found it to be an excellent alternative. Although I did face some trouble with one of my banks, the customer support team, especially Paul, was very helpful and is helping me with the issue. I was also impressed with their communication throughout the process. It's hard to find a business that values communication with its customers, but MoneyWiz exceeded my expectations. Overall, I highly recommend MoneyWiz to anyone looking for a user-friendly and customer-focused financial management software.

Long LONG time user.. I have used this app for years and years. I purchased it for both iOS and Mac. Now I am required to use THEIR sync cloud service for $25 per year, unlike most every other app that uses iCloud for syncing between devices. Very disappointing that a developer resorts to this level of non-service to customers, especially long time customers who are almost blackmailed into using THEIR cloud service. The amount of data I would lose if I didn’t use THEIR cloud now would be enormous. I feel betrayed!!! I would suggest looking elsewhere if I was just starting out to look for a check register app. Who knows, maybe next year they will decide to up the charge to use THEIR cloud to $50 or $75 or whatever then what, you will really be screwed! The fancy bells and whistles are just useless to me. All I want is to sync a check register, which now costs $25 a year when it should be $0.00 through iCloud!

Intuitive ideas, but needs much improvement. Love the idea and functionality of the app,, but needs much work. 1. Constantly downloads duplicates from online bank. One account from my online bank always has the wrong balance downloaded while another account from the same bank is correct. Had to delete 3 times that account and re-establish and it never gets it right. Syncing between devices are slow as well. 2. Also, could not import from quicken although I followed the instructions given to me from tech help. The app didn't do anything when tried to import. 3. Also, it would be good to have a complete mortgage account functionality - something like quicken has. 4. Also, you need to "cheat" if you want to add your properties as part of your assets - b/c you can't just add an asset that is not cash.

Great functionality, lacks polish. I’m happily using MoneyWiz for a few years now and it’s the best money management app hands down when it comes to raw functionality. These guys *nailed* the multi-currency use cases and have robust transaction management features too. The app does the job well. However, I wish the team paid more attention to design and polished the app to match the best examples of iOS/Mac software. Reporting and visualizations would be my biggest call for improvement. Copilot is a great example – I won’t use them for the lack of important functions but they get how to design for Apple.

Sync is a disaster. I had high hopes for Moneywiz but i spent several hours twice importing my data on my mac. Part way through each time it stopped syncing from the mac so while it looked good on the mac it was way out of date on my ipad. I tried following the instructions but nothing seemed to help and i ended up both times losing everything on the mac. I found a file that looked like it might contain all the unsynced changes but i had no way of applying it. I dont have the time or patience to try a third time. My situation is slightly complex in that i have bank accounts in 3 countries and it took a while to correct all the currency transfers from the import. This is where most of the time went and removing duplicates caused by having to import the accounts one at a time in the correct currency. Hopefully if your situation is simpler this will be fine for you. I was on the 7 day trial and got no response to my emails to support.

Poor renewal and up-time. Should be negative stars! I have been using this for several years now and every time I my renewal comes Apple process it but the app support team sends me a message/email telling me that my subscription expired and that I need to renew of my online bank account connection will be deleted in 5 days. After I contact support to have this corrected they want me to prove that I renewed via Apple as though they can’t check with Apple themselves, then I still have to re-connect my bank. In fact I have to reconnect my bank at least once a week anyway. Support always just gives a “canned”/scripted answer which doesn’t really help. Be smart and don’t use this to connect to your bank (which is the reason for subscription).

Best App and Customer Service Ever. I’ve been using MoneyWiz for years. I recently upgraded to MoneyWiz 3 so I could use it on my new PC, but was upset that the newer version separated my pending and cleared transactions. I found that to be confusing and emailed them to see if there was any way to integrate the two. They responded almost immediately that I could not do so in that version. They suggested that I get MoneyWiz 21, which is an annual subscription, but would allow me to integrate the two categories. Unfortunately, MoneyWiz 21 is only available in IOS, but I can use it on my phone and tablet, just not on my PC, and for me, that was the best choice. When I let them know that I wanted to switch, they immediately refunded my money and I went ahead and got MoneyWiz 21. So, their customer service is outstanding. I have never been able to keep track of my funds using a check register and I have found MoneyWiz to be totally reliable and I depend on it. I don’t use any of the fancier features like syncing with my bank. I don’t want to know what my bank thinks I have; I need to work off of what I will have when all my bills and pending transactions are paid! But if you are financially savvy (I’m not) there are tons of features that can help you track investments etc.

Best personal finance software, but bad institution connection and support. This is easily the best personal finance software. It is complex by definition, which may frustrate some, but it avoids the oversimplification of its competitors. Their business model is also FAR more trustworthy than options like Personal Capital or Mint. That said, I have trouble connecting many of my institutions, despite having multiple routes to do so in the software. Accounts that connect succesfully in other software don't connect here. Support is friendly, but utterly unhelpful. I recognize that institution connection is a really difficult challenge for developers, but this is MoneyWiz's big downfall. It's still the best, though, and I'm still subscribing. :)

Switching from Buxfer. In many ways, Buxfer is more elegant and easier to use, but after 6 years, Buxfer is basically the same. They still don't have a paycheck entry and no way to mix and match income categories with expense categories. Well, MoneyWiz doesn't have these either, but they are promising to add them within the next couple of months. We shall see. I don't like the way they do splits in MoneyWiz. You have to go and click on the categories you want, and then add the amounts and click lock and unlock as you go down the list. Seems clunky compared to Quicken, which is more intuitive. I admit that MoneyWiz is nice to look at. I like the way they let you group accounts anyway you want. Might be nice to have subgroups. Advanced reconciliation is nice but not as nice as Quicken. I am going to sign up for a month or two to see if MoneyWiz delivers on their promises. It can be #1, but Quicken still rules the roost. Oh, I almost forgot. Their support is great and they actually respond, which is way more than can be said for Buxfer and Quicken! It's why I am giving them a chance.

Great App. I’ve used banktivity for many years and became disappointed on their updates and charges. I have multiple accounts and very tedious keeping up with them. Also very worried on switching, but gave money wiz a chance after searching many other competitors. I’m very pleased with my decision. I purchased the premium and do use the bank sync for a couple of accounts and it seems to work fine. I’m not sure everyone would need that feature, but if you do it works well. I love the aesthetics and how easy it is to customize for my personal needs. Keep up the good work and I look forward for future versions for a long time.

Love it but.... I moved from Banktivity couple of years ago after trying several apps. So far monewiz is my choice. I understand this app still under continuos developing course. Theyr assistance is superb. If you write them, you mostly get an answer within few ours. I don't use connection with banks so I don't know how it works but I perfectly sink prices with all stocks and etfs (no funds). What I miss from Banktivity (which I gave up for many reason) is the report part wich is poor and not much customizable. Also reconciling was a masterpiece in Banktivity. This doesn't mean I regret the move; I am very happy and confident they will continue (as they do from years) to upgrade the app with time.

Great Money Management App. I have been using MoneyWiz for years. Best and easiest money app I've used. Gave it 4 Stars because I feel the budgeting piece is confusing and the reports don't always accomodate the information I'm interested in i.e...some of the details. Caveat - these are both probably user issues more than anything. But - I wish it was easier to understand...those two items. Great Check book and account updating to keep me abreast of my acount balances and activity.

Impressed. That's the app I was looking for. I used moneywize 2 a long time ago and it fills my need very well. My biggest problem was that I didn't keep my accounts up to date. I recently reinstalled the new version and subscribe to the online banking. I can see almost all mt accounts in one place. This gives me a peace of mind I was looking for. 4 stars because I couldn't connects some accounts. Developpers, please fix this problem, espacialy accounts managed bt synchrony. I also noticed that accounts does not always sync automaticlly. It's a little annoying. Please fix thatand I will give it a BIG 5 stars. Thank you

Poor tech help, not intuitive. I have been using Moneywiz3 for the past year and decided to support the company by paying for an upgrade. I couldn't even set up an account. It took me a day with tech support - they kept showing me the wrong screens that were not showing my on my mac. Finally they gave me a link to sign up. Why should this be so difficult? I even tried "activate license". Now I am trying to transfer over my old data. The help section is horrible- I never had a sync bits account with the old moneywiz, which apparently you are supposed to use in order to transfer to the new system. So when I tried to sync it, it all went away. I thought I had exported all of my work, but then found out it was only 3 months! I had tried to import, and looked everywhere how to do it. It wasn't obvious. Then it wouldn't import a CSV file tha Moneywiz3 exported! I have been using personal finance programs for a long time, so I'm accoutning program savvy. When I expressed my last difficulty, there was no response. I have asked for a refund, but have not heard back.

Finally a strong App that works. I love moneywiz 2020. My priorty was to use an app that downloads all my financial accounts and gives me a full picture of what i have and what is happening. There are a lot of services like this but none that function flawlessly. Quicken is slow and doesn't support all my bank accounts. Banktivity, personal capital, or Calrity Money also don't allow you to connec to all the banking and investment institutions--totally pointless for a financial app. Moneywiz offers three data aggregators, if one doesn't work for you, try the other. Finally, they have superb cutomer service. The response time to my emails and queries is so less than a few hours. sometimes within a few minutes. They care about the customer relationship. Be aware that there is no perfect financial app, because they all rely on another service to aggregate data from banking institutions. so their at the mercy of another provider, but they address any bugs or issues in connectivity immediately. i was able to get into al of my accounts (15 in cluding robinhood and webull) in a day or two. I tried all available apps and services, and this is the best hands down.

Reliable Finance App. I've been using MoneyWiz for years with no major issues at all. I use it on multiple devices, multiple times a day and it all syncs. Recently when I was up for my yearly billing, I noticed that I was charged more than what the app costs. Aparantly they lowered their prices at some point and I was still stuck on the old billing cycle. I emailed them about this and they instantly resolved my issue and were happy to do it. I'm super impressed by their customer service. I mean, what developer actually lowers their prices? They also are constantly updating the app to make it better. The only gripe I have is that I wish I could use more keyboard shortcuts, like "command-N" to start a new transaction, rather than moving the cursor to the plus button, but thats not a big deal. I hope they continue to make this great app in years to come.

Have potential but disappointed. This app seems to have so much potential. I love the user interface, simple and easy to use but the data is wrong or perhaps i don’t understand what the numbers mean. The bank balance are completely wrong, they don’t match any numbers in my account. That is so frustrating because i don’t mind paying for the premium if it actually gives me some accurate information and i don’t mean the delayed updates. I can leave with given me delayed information but i do anything with wrong balance or last updated a year ago.

Almost perfect. Downloads transactions seamlessly for several accounts from multiple financial companies. Reconciliation has room for improvement with some transactions stuck in pending and several miscategorized (and hence generating accurate reports is tedious). Overall very positive user experience with responsive support. A very unique product that actually keeps data private and does not try to sell additional services. Have used it for 2 years and it has definitely helped me streamline personal finances. Thanks..

Fantastic Budgeting App. MW 2020 is a fantastic budgeting app, offering customized budgets, categories, and reports. I’ve used it for years, and now have a wonderful historical record of previous purchased and income. If you care deeply about tracking your finances, and don’t want to subscribe to a particular approach (think YNAB or “envelopes”), I’d give MW a try. (Also: They now offer a “lite” subscription that eschews online transaction capture for manual entry. Awesome if you don’t need the online functionality but do want syncing.)

DELETED EVERYTHING. I had a money tracker app that I paid for that was no longer supported by the latest apple updates, so I tried several apps looking for a replacement. I chose this app as I only wanted to track accounts offline and I really liked the layout. I loved using this app until today when I opened it and found that all of my accounts, transactions and information had been deleted! Now I’m back to square one and have to decide if I want to add everything back into this app and risk having it happen again, or look for another app, very frustrating! I didn’t log out because I never logged in, I was using it in Demo mode as I was only interested in offline tracking. The description clearly states “We do not impose a limit on the number of accounts, budgets, regular or scheduled transactions you can create in MoneyWiz for free. However, you will need a subscription to enable certain features: Premium Subscription enables bank sync and multi-device sync. Standard subscription enables multi-device sync.” I am not interested in the subscription features.

Good replacement for Banktivity. I have been using Banktiity for several years and lately have been having problems with connecting to a certain bank. I was looking around for another accounting system and stumbled on to the Wiz. I like it so far. Moving my entire accounting system over to it from Banktivity was a chore and I have 14 accounts with history back to 2015. I have a couple of issues to deal with and I believe that Wiz is working on it. I am hopefull that this application will be home for my accounting in the years to come. They are off to a good start competing with other major accounting platforms.

Just what I wanted.. Too many applications put too much emphasis on budgeting. I tried and discarded a number of supposedly competing apps. This is just what the doctor ordered. I want to see all of my transactions in all of my accounts. So far, fetching transactions automatically from my financial institutions has worked flawlessly. I love the look and feel… clean, elegant, simple, professional. They have a great implementation of account reconciliation which you can do right from here iPhone or iPad without the need to be executing a companion app on a desktop somewhere. Love it!

Disappointed. After setting up everything with many hours involved the app crashed and when I opened it again I got a message asking to give a report from what happened, I did it, next morning I got an email saying that my request was fulfilled and my account was deleted. Next email a message saying sorry and an ideia of how to fix it, it didn’t work and I lost everything. So be aware of that if using this app, you could lose everything, the backup is all messed up since all accounts needed to be reconnected. Honestly I was disappointed that after showing that I was frustrated all they had to say is sorry, but that is fine, and also the app is clean and nice, it is still missing a lot of function that the big names have.

I really wanted to like this app. I did a lot of checking out apps. I wanted to switch to my iPad from pc for checkbook. I have used Quicken for many years and thought this was the closest app to accomplish my goal—reconciling my bank statements each month. I like everything about this app except reconciling the bank statements. I read the manual and tried for a couple of months but was just never sure when I finished the reconcile process that it was accurate. Transactions showed as cleared, but I never got something that showed a $0 difference like in Quicken. I gave up and replaced my aging pc and I am going back to Quicken. A lot of good, but just not enough to achieve my goal.

Can't replace Quicken. I thought I could switch from Quicken, but after decades of using it, there's nothing I found that does everything like I'm already used to. Trying to create scheduled repeating expenses needs work. Quicken has the option to estimate, based on last X occurences, or in the case of credit cards, paying the balance due in full every month. I don't see this option in MoneyWiz and can't keep track of future cash flow like I did with Quicken. That being said, the software is great and gets frequent updates. Unfortuntely, it's not a good fit for me.

Upgraded from MoneyWiz 2. Thanks to Apple iOS update I needed to upgrade. I chose the 2021 version as it is the most current. I subscribed to the standard choice. All 9 years of data synced over perfectly. I made some tweaks on how I wanted to view the data. The time-consuming part was updating all of the category icons with pictures. After completing my iPad, I then installed the app on my phone, logged in to SYNCbits and again, all data came in on my phone. This is wonderful to now have flexibility with use.

Phenomenal Support. I have been using Money Wiz since it’s inception, and rely on it completely for managing my finances. It is the BEST finance app out there! I am now using Money Wiz 2020. I had some issues with my data - complete user error on my part. Lliya was not only completely knowledgeable about how to solve my issues, but was so kind and patient! Did not leave my side until all was back in order even though it took quite awhile - again it was all user error on my part. Thank you Lliya for all your help!!!! Wish all in customer support were like you!

Good attempt, but not quite there yet. I want to love this app - the dev is clearly doing his best, and it's still better than any other apps I've found in my search for a modern, "macos-like" personal finance app with bank integrations etc etc, but there's a bumch of issues that I really think should be addressed for this app to deserve the praise it's been getting. Firstly, despite being sold as a mac app, only minimal effort has been made to actually design a desktop UI. The developer is clearly most comfortable building for mobile; most interfaces are clearly mobile templates in xcode being misused. Secondly, there are a ton of minor bugs – nothing severe enough to render the app unusuable, but the issue is that the developer does not offer any kind of support, or even a contact form. The "support" link on the website links to a page with a ton of content that reads like a forum with only one person posting. To the dev, keep up the good work – I would gladly pay more if it enabled you to bring on a team and give this app the attention it deserves

Could be better. The layout is very confusing. Because the entries are not seperated, all you see is a confusing month long jargon of purchase's & bill entries with numbers making it difficult to search for a specific item. It would be cleaner if the entries were seperated from the next day for every day so you can easily find the day of the purchase or bill

Ian McKay. Prefer Money Wiz 3. It is much simpler, the layout on Money Wiz 2002 is poor and font too small. Does not have balance of account on the bottom of the page. Account balances that were syncd do not balance with accounts on Money Wiz 2022. Can I keep using Money Wiz 3 ?

Stop asking for a review. It's very annoying when I'm trying to log a transaction. PS: Many other apps don't have this "behaviour" so Developer please stop making excuse by blaming it on Apple.

Balance. This is an amazing app. Tracks my spending perfectly. Future reoccurring transactions as well is really good. Helps me make a decision to spend the extra as I can see if I need the money sitting in the bank for direct debits. Keeps a running balance which is great and future balance. The only thing is the balances displayed when first going into the app isn’t the figure you have sitting in the bank at that moment. I’d like to see the current balance.

Ugly reports. I have to say that out of all finance apps on the App Store this one has the most ugly looking reports.

Should have known. Was using Moneywiz for a few years but had to check out others if they were better or not. Checked out Banktivity, Quicken for mac (ugh) Moneyspire and See Finance. The latter came the closest but here I am back again so says it all. Intuitive, covers all that I need, even though there is a small subscription. Do not need bank download even though it is available. Still old fashioned enough to do manually, besides keeps me in better touch with my accounts. Highly recommend this product.

Unstable and unreliable. Had been using Moneywiz since Version 1 and it was progressing but had it's flaws, now it has become so unreliable and buggy I've switched to a completely different platform. Not sure what's happened, been in contact with developers who say everything has to be working but let me tell you it ain't. Bank Feeds drop out for no reason and need to be re-established, starting balance needs adjusting regularly when, as the developers tell me, it shouldn't. Moneywiz has lost the plot....I'm out ** Thursday 10 December: In response to the Developers. I have been through this very issue with your support before. 3 other platforms I've trialled use Salt Edge with my Bank without any difficulty at all (and one of my other banks that Moneywiz can't) I'm not one to give up easily and I've been patient and persevered hoping that the issue would resolve it self but nothing I've tried has worked. This includes complete rebuilds, uninstall and start from scratch, the whole shooting match.... I'm still out **

Problems with windows desktop app. Had to download Visual C++ 2010 manually as app couldn’t download it automatically for W11. Getting weird alert to say iOS app and desktop app isn’t compatible with v4 sync and that I need to revert to v3 and advise I update desktop app although it is already up to date? Great app when it will have OCR and receipts looking forward to but atm I can’t use this app

lots of glitches. Hi guys I know this is new however it is very frustrating. I have the latest software on my imac with good speed. Now each click takes ages and sometimes the coloured ball goes around and around. I have taken a video of the bulk edit and it clicks on other items. I want to right click and grab some entries but cant do it on this version. I have other feedback so will email you. sorry

Great for Managing Cashflow. I manage 3 small business and Moneywiz fills a a void that my accounting software doesnt provide. When I need a snapshot of future cashflow across multiple accounts, Moneywiz is simple and quick and saves hours spent on spreadsheet record keeping.

Great Program - Bank Connection Problem. This is a great program but for the last month It’s not been able to update my banking transactions. I’ve Emailed Support a few times and they haven’t been able to fix the issue and have sent the same response that there’s no update on the issue I would give this program 5 stars a few months ago but now it’s not synching I can’t use it. I’m on a yearly subscription and it hasn’t worked for a couple of months. Pretty disappointed and may have to unsubscribe. It’s a great product and a lot of work has been put into it but the support isn’t as good as it used to be Mario Mirelli

Best Money App EVER!. MONEYWIZ is excellent, don't heisistate to get it, it is the only one that hasn't disappinted me. I run a small private practice, have a husband a kids and this is the best app. I can set up my accounts how I want, savings accounts to manage cashflow cycles, set up budgets that warn me when I'n getting close to spending the months allowance, it has os many features. I neve write reviews, but this app deservces it. Over the last 15 years I've tried many online money apps but I've always ended up not using or they weren't able to be customised to how I wanted to work my accounts and budgets. I was a bit sceptical last year during lockdown as I decided to try and find the budgetting app that worked for me (AGAIN!) and went through about 6 ,including re-trying one I've used before. Nothing cut it, until I started working with Moneywiz. I decided to do the trial, and it worked so well we ended up purchaing it. HAVE NOT REGRETTED IT FOR A SECOND! I've now been using it continusiousyl for a year and with the latatest update it's just gotten better. I LOVE it and HIGHLY recommend it.

First class. I have been using MoneyWiz for many years. I ask a lot of my financial apps and this one delivers perfectly. I can keep an eye on all my budget items. This lets me make good decisions with regards to spending. Any problems I have had over the years have been quickly attended to and rectified. This just works. I would recommend you get and use MoneyWiz. You will not be disappointed. This is an investment in your financial success.

Having been using for a few years. Best personal finance management app ever. Some bugs here and there (such as stock portfolio). But overall, powerful, reliable, logical, and reasonably priced. Keep up the good work.

Better split transactions. When is the improvements to split transaction going to appear, you said the 4th Quarter but still waiting.

Great app. Had so many finance apps over the years but MoneyWiz is the only one I’ve subscribed too. Works well. Sync is seamless. Easy to use and customise. It’s an invaluable resource for my family.

Not Double Entry Compliant. Does not conform to double entry book keeping standards where Categories are just a type of Account. For example salary receipts are combined of salary, tax and super. If super is a category then you cant track investments, if super is an account and you make a split payment then the payments are separated and the super payment is no longer attached to the salary payment it was received from.

Amazing. Best app ever. If they introduce the asset and all the other updates as promissed, there will be no other match.

Fantastic software. I've been using MoneyWiz for a few years now and can highly recommend it. Occasionally I have had to seek support for some minor issues but each time the support was prompt and thorough. The team at MoneyWiz obviously take their product seriously. It's easy to use and extremely efficient. Can't recommend it enough. I have tried many other programs and nothing else comes close.

Missing Calculator. Great app in general but mac version needs calculator like iPhone / iPad. And lite theme really needs to be lite. Other than that, it is a good app and syncing across multiple devices works really well

Interfac needs a LOT of work. This is a powerful application but it's simply awful to use. Here's just a couple of the areas they could improve: - Graph text is tiny - Navigation buttons overlap other content - When bulk editing, you will likely forget you have to deslect your last selection edit - Massive lag after bulk editing (literally walk away and come back) - Graphs are messy and hard to understand There's an endless list of more improvemets that are needed.

moneywizzuser. Its really good but there is a minor peeve. The search bar only appears at the top of the categories list. It would be much better if it was always visible. Hopefully this is an easy fix. Otherwise its great

Probably good BUT subscription only. I got all excited trying this out until I saw it is subscription only! NO THANKS. What happens to my years of data if I was to stop paying every month!

Keep track of finances.. I have tried many, and found moneywiz the best.

...giving up after 10 years. I have been using this software for nearly 10 years. I used to love it - simple, effective and the syncing between devices was great. UI was terrific. Subsequent versions made improvements - however, versions from last few years have just become a janky, buggy, eye-burning mess. The task of reconciling my finances every month - once a simple delight with this software - has become an enfuriating time suck, battling software that has become just awful, unintuitive and just plain messy. Even the process of renewing my subscription has become fraught and I really can't be bothered finding work arounds for their software and billing any more. Goodbye, Moneywiz. I loved the earklier years.

Awesome Program. Have used this for several years now and love it. Not overly complex and does what i need.

Pretty good with room for improvement. I’ve owned Money Wiz 2 before this and was nearly swayed by v3 till I heard it’s no longer supported beyond bug fixes UI was sometimes an issue on the earlier versions yet here it’s much improved although there’s still room for improvement. When selecting a category for a budget there’s no option for ‘videogames/gaming’ nor is there even a controller icon. Surely this is popular enough to be an option?? There’s an option for apps, why not gaming? Adding stuff like scheduled bills is a little weird, if there’s a future bill in a few weeks it’ll automatically take it out of your manual entry credit card even if you mark it as pending. This is confusing because the payment hasn’t even happened yet! So why does it affect my balance when it shouldn’t? Also when creating a budget to be put into a group the group icon options are all grouped together, it’s not even ordered properly and is simply hundreds of icons in a random assortment. Please put the icons in actual groups with headers separating each And finally unless I’m mistaken there’s no option for an interest rate for my long term savings account if I’m choosing the manual entry method that’s not synced to my bank. Needs a monthly, bi annual and annual interest rate option

Money Wiz 2020. New layout has transformed this app. Many new features are also excelent. Recommended.

It takes dicipline to make this work. I love this app. I have it across my mac, iphone and ipad. After some false starts, I have gotten into the habit of recording my purchases and financial movements. I love that I have an immediate and accurate snapshot of my financial situation. Information is valuable, and know my financials allows me to make informed decisions. Moneywiz is also invaluable come tax time.

Wonderful App. A wonderful app that provides me with all the information that I need to manage my personal finances, which includes day-to-day credit card use , banking, share market overview, scheduled payments etc. Furthermore the service (which I have infrequently used) provided by the app developers is excellent and immediate.

Great Application. Smart and easy to use!

MoneyWiz 2020. Great app! I've been using MoneyWiz for a few years now and have found this latest release really intuitive and easy to navigate. Still a few bugs to be ironed out but it's really showing promise. Also, I've twice recently had to use their online support. Both times I've found them really helpful and quick to respond.

Great home accounting package. I switched from Quicken to MoneyWiz after Quicken did/would not produce a Mac version. MoneyWiz is easy to use and great for keeping track of bank and credit card spending plus share/stock purchases and dividend tracking. One omission is abilitry to track Franking Credits (particular to Australia).

Best personal finance app ever!. I have tried many paid apps for my personal finances and none of them have made me happy like MoneyWiz. One of the best features that I love is the report options, very powerful and as detailed as you need. Love it!

Best finance app. I use this app everyday to keep track of my expenses and the relationship my lifestyle has with my budget. Alas, always giving me the sad news. But that’s good news because without the app I would not be aware of such a dismal future. All jokes aside, get the app if you want to keep track, have a record of your expenses, receipts etc, as well as some handy automatic features with banks and such. A boon to those who invest instead of just spending.

excellent. I have been using MoneyWiz for almost 2 years. Its excellent - modern, high function and flexible. The trick is to recognise its a modern system - having come from Quicken in Australia after 20 years, you need to be open to a more modern approach eg reporting, tags, colour categories and so on. Thus we users need to move with the times. Hav used support 2 or 3 times in 2 years and they are very responsive - unusual!! importantly they invest in new function - really really fundamental & important in an software company.

Great App for People that Look after Their Money. I have tried many finance apps in the past including previous versions of MoneyWiz but the 2023 version is great! Everything works, the bank transaction imports and reporting are accurate and the forecasting option is perfect for my needs. If your looking past the basic budgeting and would like an app to actually provide everything you need into the future, then check this one out! My wish list in future updates would be forecasting past one year, minimal balance alerts. Cheers

Full featured but messy layout. Layout is messy it’s just numbers day after day. Separating the days with a spacer would make it cleaner & easier to find transactions imo. But otherwise it does the job

Share tracking fail.. The app works well except for the share tracking , the daily gain/loss is always incorrect. Support advised this would be fixed in the last update; it was not. Support has deteriorated to the point of being unhelpful, very disappointed.

Good but needs improvement. Great app, works well except for the syncing can be a little slow. And for the iPad, light theme is not so light with the left column difficult to read for people that struggle with black backgrounds

Want to like it but so far I can't. Updated November 16, 2020 Updating after a couple months since last review. There's been quite a few updates but I still really dislike this version. It feels like the developers don't actually use the program themselves because I can't understand how some of the issues are still not resolved. I'm a keyboard shortcut user and the interface constantly skips fields or doesn't let you navigate with a keyboard which then you are forced to use the cursor to click small fields like dates. Older versions of MoneyWiz always allowed full navigation with a keyboard. Developers, please try this and you'll see my pain: CMD E and start typing an amount, you'll notice either the amount field doesn't record the full price (missing the first few values typed) or the Payee just pops up in your face for no reason. Grab your mouse and click back to Amount and fix that, then press Tab to go to Payee and start typing... Only one payee match, press Enter.. Nothing happens, have to press Tab, then Down Arrow and then finally Enter works. Next up, my Category was auto-populated because it was a common entry but the date is defaulted for today, have to fix that... Tab doesn't go anywhere. Gotta grab the mouse and click onto that date and then pick the date from the very small calendar that pops up on a Mac. And that is just on "Regular" transaction layout which I don't use. Custom has it's own issues, Description get's populated even if it's turned off so once the new "Table View" got added back, I've got "Descriptions" for hundreds of entries that I never typed based on some 8-year history that the app decided to add. Tabbing skips fields completely on Custom. Long review but I am just frustrated to see this app go so far downhill. Officially looking for a new product, sad to leave after 8 years. --- Written September 23, 2020 I've been using MoneyWiz for 8 years now, purchased every upgrade over the years but this is the first time I feel like it's a major regression in usage. The app itself feels faster but man is it SLOW to enter transactions compared to MoneyWiz 3. Keyboard input is constantly dropped because I enter faster than the UI can keep up which was never an issue in previous versions. The recent update update that added keyboard shortcuts (which worked in previous versions) seemed like a step forward but instead has been a bigger headache. Pressing tab skips over entry fields entirely which causes this popup for the next field to cover the previous field. Support has always been great but I have never emailed a developer as much in my life and I am just getting tired of it and officially dread doing my 8-year routine banking habits. The one pro is SyncBits seems to have greatly improved, MoneyWiz 3 constantly broke syncing or took HOURS to sync between my phone and Mac. This version is usually only a few seconds behind. I'll keep using it and hope the updates do improve and get this back up to MoneyWiz 3 standards but if anyone is looking at upgrading, I'd advise you to stay with the old version for a while longer.

Not good in Canada. I tried to add my Canadian bank info and could not

Nothing worse than an app that fails on opening. I just downloaded the new 2023 MW and was all excited to get going and connect my accounts. But right off the bat I cannot connect my TD bank account in Canada because they require 3 letters for a bank name. I tried the instructions of just adding CA to get Canadian banks that are supported to no avail. Did anyone test this out? It seems like a huge miss. Or is there something I’m missing in which case it’s not obvious.

Easty transition from Moneywiz 3. I know that there are those who moan that the app has now gone the Subscription route. I was one of those too. However, $20 dollars (US) or so each year is really pretty reasonable and the cost includes both iOS & MacOS. If you want the your apps to be continually updated, then you need to assure the developer that they have a source of income (we all like income). The transition from version 3 to 2021 went very smoothly (I did backup prior just to be sure). At this point the only very minor issue I have is with the new budget feature "Surprise me". What this is supposed to do is automatically analyze your historical spending per category and create the budgets for you. I was very excited about this but unfortunately it isn't working yet for me. I selected this option on and ipone 12 Pro and Macbook Air. I figured it would take a while to create this because I've been using MoneyWiz since 2013 but unfortunately it didn't work. All I got was the working spinning wheel. After a couple of hours I gave up. I notified support and they are escalating this issue. All in all, it is an awesome app worthy of your minor annual fee.

Back from Another App. Many years ago I used MoneyWiz simply to track my spending. I switched to another (free) app for a few years, but a couple of weeks ago, I decided to try out MoneyWiz again. I am enjoying the new features and the user interface is much more appealing than the other app. Right now I am using it on one device, but plan to add other devices in 2022. I have a colour deficiency (colourblind) and have trouble distinguishing between red/green for the income and expense entries. At least MoneyWiz uses large fonts and bolding and provides the option to turn on /- signs, which is also a big help. Still, I would love the ability to change the colour of expenses or incomes to suit my deficiency - maybe in another release?

Just meh. I was optimistic about MoneyWiz, automatic spending, and net worth tracking was something I looked for, for a long time now. Unfortunately, I had multiple issues with the app: - The syncing transaction was not working. Every time I needed to remove the connection and add it again. - Syncing with some brokers never worked properly, and customer support was unable to address the issue for over three months, blaming it on PLAID. - Documentation was not matching the current state on a few occasions, like adding commodity tracking. Overall the app is promising, but it lacks intelligence and correctness. I will not be buying a license extension.

FInaly. where were you my entire life???!

No updates according to development road map. The website for this app has a development roadmap for future updates and improvements. Unfortunately these updates to the development of the app have not happened. Not sure if I will continue with this app.

Sync problem. Using Moneywiz for few years. I like the app, but A LOT of problems with bank accounts sync. I tried with few banks, with different providers as plaid, yodlee, saltedge… After contacting the technical support, they usually solve the problem, but only for few weeks, then the syncing problem is back. Actually, not able to sync since 2 weeks, waiting for a solution. It would be a 5 stars without that problem…

very pleased. Had the app for awhile; very satisfied.

Marino. Great app! I’ve been using Moneywiz since the first version. I love it!

Great Improvements. Just installed MW 2021. Really improved. Love the layout. Only issue is they don't have an Apple Watch app for it. Hopefully soon.

Good but deserves more. Nice app. Good interface, but There is quite alot of missing features that I find important. Such as credit card repayment functionality, automation through Shortcuts during apple pay transactions, ability to add category on transfers

Smart Choice Money Management App. Simply an amazing app for those care about tracking their spending and managing their budgets. Its a perfect partner for me. I am very thankful I found this app.

Full of bugs and slow the reports don’t work at all. Its slow and full of bug

I wish I could leave Zero Stars. I'm using an older version of the program, and when it recently crashed completely, my data was badly corrupted. After 21 emails, I'm begining to suspect it will never be recovered.

Jury is still out. I am a former Banktivity user. There are some features here that are better than Banktivity, the UI certainly is and there are some features that are lacking, such as statement reconciliation. I'm giving 2 stars because connections (via Plaid) worked well in the trial. Since the trial has ended, I have been unable to connect to my primary bank and repeatedly go through the security questions which was the primary reason I left Banktivity. I am hoping this can be rectified because it's pretty useless for me without this connection.

Do not buy!. I have had repeated issues with this software that have not been addressed by their support team. They include: debits uplaoded as credtis and credits uploaded as debits after a recent software upgrade; no ability to change the password; and most frustirating - signing in on another deivce loaded up a version from months ago and resulted in hundreds of missing transactgions. Support refused to help in a meaningful way to get any problem resolved never mind on a timely basis. Avoid!!!

Great finance program. Attractive, user-friendly interface and top-notch support. Bring them a problem, and they are like a dog with a bone––they never give it up. Been a user for five years and cannot imagine a better finance program.

worked 3 sec do not suscribe if your from canada. canadian bank does refresh it sucks cause its well build reslly helpful app but i tried to contact them for support but no reply since couple days

Money wiz. Hi Just got this app and WOW very nice guy’s love it . Enjoying every minute of it , and I shall have to write another review in a few month . Works great. : )

Terrible migration experience. I am a long user of MoneyWiz (since version 1 in 2014). I had a terrible experience with the migration to MoneyWiz 2021: my database was messed up (3 times), and lost all my receipts. Support by MW team was good, but I am still unhappy with MoneyWiz 2021 usability compared to previous versions. I've only migrated becase MoneyWiz 2.9 (last good version) stopped working on iOS devices.

App without data is useless. The app has a lot of common sense functionality and a somewhat coherent Interface. Unfortunately, the third-party integration services that feed this app from financial institutions is a fail. A good app with no data to make it usable is just a waste of time, money and frustration. Would recommend you try a different app that can actually download data… like mint.com

NOT FRIENDLY TO CANADIAN ACCOUNTS. One Review from a year ago said it cannot sync to Canadian Banks, the Developer Responded, but obviously they ahve not worked on making this Canadian Friendly as only 2 Cdn banks are listed TD and BMO, not even the top 5 banks show like RBC, CIBC, Scotia so you have to import manually which is absolutly anoying.

Upgraded from Money Wiz 2. I just upgraded from MoneyWiz2 to MoneyWiz 2020. I have been using MoneyWiz2 since 2014 and have been extremely happy with it. However, it now crashes when you enter a transaction after upgrading to IOS 14.2. I didn’t upgrade from MoneyWiz 2 in the past because I was still also running MoneyWiz 2 on my old MAC computer which cannot upgrade to Moneywiz3 or Moneywiz2020. Decided to take the plunge and go with the 2020 version with a standard subscription and use it on my IPAD alone. I can’t believe the amount of refinements that have been introduced since Moneywiz2. So much more user friendly and refined. Can’t say enough about it. Absolutely no regrets about upgrading and will quite willingly pay the annual subscription fee from this point on. This program does everything I need it to do and they’re are a lot of advanced features which I don’t use. I’ve been extremely happy with this product and the technical support from the Moneywiz staff has always been extremely fast and professional over the last 6 years. Great product and well worth the money!!!

Does not work on large volume of data. I'm been using Microsoft Money for 20 years and I was looking for an equivalent that can run on an iMac. I imported all my accounts on Money Wiz. this worked ok but... it is impossible to manage the categories correctly. All categories are messy and some are duplicate or triplicate. I've tried for a few hours to fix it but I give up! it's impossible. At the end, the software frozed and I had to force quit. I cancelled my subscription.

Paid multiple time for the same app. Was using moneywiz 1/2 then now I have to pay to continue using the same app but with other name.

cannot sync from Canadian bank. It always shows an error when trying to fetch the data from Canadain banks: [PLErrorDomain] the operation couldn't be completed. (PLErrorDomain error 0.) (1000) The experience is terrible

Nearly perfect. I have been a long time user of Quicken. Unfortunately the iPad companion is not user friendly ans incomplete (to my opinion). Moneywiz could be the perfect alternative if ... 1) I could do a split transaction with Expenses, income, and transfer in the same transaction (like Alzex for example. 1) Also batch copy would be very handy. You cvan copy (duplicate) individually but not in the batch operations.

Each adjustment takes accounts out of balance. I'm a CPA with 15 years experience. As much as MoneyWiz does good enough job with synchronization of bank accounts it is beyond terrible when it comes to adjustments to transactions. Once I change the amount, split payment or even change transaction type it takes balances off balance and there's no way of re-sync. Though this might be a good solution to my multitude of accounts, but brings just disappointment.

Excellent application and on-line support. I am a long time user of MoneyWiz. The latest version MoneyWiz 2021 for Apple users is just great. Also, when occasional bugs and / or connexion issues, I always received excellent on-line support from the team at MoneyWiz. This is especially thru from Pau, a real pro and expert. I strongly recommend MoneyWiz 2021.

Love this app. Great personal financial app. Updates on almost a weekly basis. Customer support is great. Keep up the good work!

Great.. Simply. Great.

Seeing Improvements. Really happy to see the table view now! It seems to work well and is easy to customize. SMALL font apparently will be rectified in Big Sur. I still find mouse response could improve. Sometimes takes an extra click or 2 to get response. And I am always on the latest version, but sometimes I have to seek it out on the App Store and there is where I see "Update"

Perfect for my needs. Truly the best.. I have been a long time user of Quicken for Windows. Recently I convert to Apple, mostly, to the iPad. The Quicken companion for iPad, though functional enough, is not user friendly at all and don’t forget to manually synchronize or you will loose the changes made. After testing all finances tracking software that work on Mac, iPad and iPhone and that are 100% functional on all platform; that can have more than 2 levels of categories; that can split transactions in a simple way; that allow to duplicate, that is flexible to fix mistake without deleting and redoing, my search stopped on MoneyWiz. I have been using it since 2 month, in parallel with Quicken and MoneyWiz is nearly as complete than Quicken, except way more user-friendly and easier to track finances. Whatever, for my need, Quicken do more, complex transactions and copy in batch, there is still a way to do it with MoneyWiz. And more I use MoneyWiz, more I discover how efficient and user-friendly it is (the user manual on the developper website helped). Three funtionalities are worth mentioning and that I did not find on othe software, including Quicken, the efficiency and tranparency of the synchonisation, the filtering options and the reporting functions. On the latter, Quicken do a little better but much more complicated. I am now ready to switch completely to MoneyWiz. The support is also very quick, efficient and apparently truly honest. Please excuse my English, I am French (Québec) PS.: You should update the screenshots, the new UI is much nicer and it use screen space more efficiently.

Not Great. Don’t Waste Your Money.. Loan tracking assumes all loans are the same. No ability to change to something other than monthly payments. No ability to include other payments in loan payment like property taxes or life insurance. Payment schedule needs to be manually corrected for each payment to account for loan declining balance. Investment accounts calculate no cost base. Poor category selection for asset allocation. No ability to handle common investment transactions like returns of capital or share consolidation on capital gain distributions from ETFs. If your seeking an app to manage and track your all your assets and liabilities, this app will fail to meet your needs. It’s a poor alternative to Quicken.

So Far So Good. 1st DRAFT: It successfully connects to my CIBC account, but fails to connect to Capital One (hangs forever) or BMO accounts (claiming it's locked due to too many attempts). Rendering it essentially useless for me. Banktivity and Mint have no such problems. So I'd like to try MoneyWiz 2021 but I can't. 1st REVISION: Tried the developer's advice and switched to Yodlee (from PLAID). Capital One now successfully connects, however, for BMO it still replies that the connection is blocked due to too many attempts. So changing my evaluation from 1 to 2 stars. Again without being able to connect to all my accounts this is not really a go-to app. 2nd Revision: Turns out there was an issue at BMO which now connects successfully to MoneyWiz 2021. So no issues at the moment with connecting. I've adjusted my review from 1 to 2 and now up to 3 stars. I will try to come back and adjust my review after I have used the app a little more. Thanks to the developer for their suggested solution above.

Dysfunctional. I was excited about this app and signed up for the free one week trial. Syncing with the financial institutions was a complete mess. The balances were so off I instantly but falsely became a multi millionaire. I deleted the app on the first day of the trial. Thankfully, I didn’t lose any money because of this app.

Great money tracking software. It’s one of the best money tracking app in the AppStore.

MoneyWiz getting slow. I have been using MoneyWiz for about 3 years and the app (iOS and Mac) now becomes really slow, including expense logging, browsing, searching or any other actions. The speed issue has been unbearable recently and it sometimes frozen and crash. Is this an expected behavior with 3+ year volume expenses logged, or is this a repairable bug? Do we have a clear cookie or something button to recover the app speed? Thanks!

No Running Balance. Despite the screen shots showing a running balance, which is an extremely basic feature, the app does not have a running balance (yes I selected it in the settings). I've been in touch with support and stopped receiving responses. Unfortunately, it means I'll need to stick with the piece of crap that is Quicken. UPDATE : Reply to developer's response. Yes, like I said initially, I have selected this in the settings. I have uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times. There is no option for a running balance. I haven't received a solution to this problem that works.

Thank you Paul. I am very impressed with the service I received from the people at MoneyWiz. I was having trouble with my devices syncing properly, and Paul spent a great deal of time walking me through various steps, trying to discover the root of the problem. He presented me with detailed step-by-step instructions, and after several exchanges of information I am up and running properly again.

Not happy with some changes. I have been using Moneywiz for years and recently switched to the 2020 version and on my mac when I am filling in things it doesn't autopopulate the payment like it used to. I have to type it then click on the arrow to pull up the list of past purchases...it seems small but when entering lots of purchaes it slows things down.

Work FLAWLESSLY on MAC. I researched most of the pgms out there and I Knew I didn't want (or need) Quickbooks or similar. MoneyWIZ does everything I need and for an affordable price. It seeks flawlessly between all my devices (IPAD, new M2 Macbook, and IPHONE). Great security and features without any bloated features. Great support - had an initial syncing problem and they got back to me immediately and were super helpful.

Based on usage. Setup Chase, a checking and a savings. Easy with Plaid to connect. The app went through setup very easy. Afterwards it kept syncing and when finally done the amounts are incorrect. It syncs all the way back to 2022, based on the current balance somewhere the app has the incorrect balance. Just based on this incorrect balance and unable to fix it, I won’t be paying for the app. It has way too many features which is great, but it can’t get simple syncing correct. Also on another note I don’t like not being able to sync CashApp. While it isn’t a bank, it goes through a banks (Wells Fargo and Sutton). I use it for my business so it’s considered as income. To not be able to add it is a shame. For now I can’t recommend this app. It’s too complex to use it manually, which if that’s the case just use a Excel template.

Solid financial tool. I have used many financial tools and have yet to, until now, sync all of my accounts. Their integration with multiple sync providers was key. When one did not work (usually plaid) the other worked (Yodlee). Having continuously updated information is key to getting real value from any financial tool. Thank you

Excellent tool for personal financial management. I was using an alternative tool for personal financial management, but since it changed its mode and limited many features to expensive subscription, I started searching for alternative tools. MoneyWiz was the best choice in terms of features, interface, ease of use.

Fantastic-manages all my wealth. Has all the features and they all work. A great app that syncs everywhere and gets my transactions quickly. Secure, fast and it works I was also a Ibank/banktivity user for more than 10 years. Banktivity has pushed me away with downloads no working, syncing not working and all they do is blame the banks

Best bang for your buck. I have been a active and inactive money wiz subscriber since the begging. I left for a period time when the original was phased out and the new was brought in and it had a ton of problems it was awful, but man money wiz 22 seems to have corrected allot of that and it is working great! Glad to be back.

The search is over!. I have tried literally DOZENS of finance apps out there over the years... this is the one you want. Not only has the software been updated regularly for years now, but the support has been great! When they made the switch to a universal app to support M1, I reported a bunch of bugs and issues... only for them to spend a ton of time going back and forth with me to iron them out. I appreciate the dedication!

(UPDATED) Manual entries go to cleared first. UPDATE: Developer has fixed this bug and it works as expected now. Thank you for the quick response! I like this app, but with the latest update all of my manual entries categorize by default as cleared rather than pending. You have to remember to select pending when making the entries now. This is making reconciling tough. If there is a way to default them to pending again, that would be helpful.

Love MoneyWiz 2021. I have been a long time user of previous MoneyWiz versions and have always enjoyed using them. MoneyWiz 2021 takes it to another level. I love that it is so customizable and intuitive. All of the requests and improvements I was hoping for are included in this new version. I’m using the standard version that’s perfect for my needs. Well worth the cost of a subscription for such a great app!

VERY HAPPY SO FAR. I like that I can enter data manually rather than link to my bank. (Although, linking to the bank would be easier, I felt insecure about the idea). I also like the ability to select larger typeset for the font. It took me awhile to figure out how to set up my accounts, but importing a CSV file worked very well. I'm just getting started witht he app, but so far I like it very much.

Great app needs a tweak. I love the auto import function of this app. The only problem comes when I enter a transaction before it posts to my account. When it does hit, I have duplicate trasactions to deal with. It would be great if the app scanned for duplicate transactions when it auto imports, or if there were a manual scan that would look for duplicates instead of me going through the entries line by line to figure it out.

Best app to tracking expenses. Love this app! You can easily separate your different wallet even the stock and bund account, also organize all the expenses with simple and intuitive logistics. I also love that you can sync your bank icon by enter the link of your bank. I’ve tried thousands of accounting app and this is the best so far 🤩

Love this app. I've been using MW for several years and I really love it. It allows me to track all of my accounts with a clean interface, and the reporting is awesome. I recently had an issue with renewing my subscription, totally my issue, and the team responded quickly and helped correct my error. I completely recommend this app, and the team what writes and supports it.

No longer functions after enabling sync. I was using the free version of the app for offline tracking for quite a while and finally decided to upgrade to the paid version so I could sync between the iPad app and Mac. After enabling syncing, the iPad app no longer functions correctly. When opening the app, it gives me a message that says that the app is syncing changes. After that, it freezes for a minute or so and then crashes. Clearing app data and reinstalling did not fix the issue. Support was unable to resolve the issue. Hopefully I can get a refund from Apple.

Switched over to MoneyWiz. Previously used Moneydance and YNAB. MoneyWiz is closer to Moneydance than YNAB. Ran in to partner sync issues with Moneydance and lackluster developer responses after a very long time of usage. This put me on the hunt for something new. I used YNAB for a year and decided it was not for me nor worth the (recently increased) cost. For me, MoneyWiz 2021 has been a great find. It provides the functionality I need, at a reasonable price.

User for many years and love it!. I’ve been using MoneyWiz for at least five years and have happily paid for premium since the beginning. The bank sync is flawless and transactions always line up. First software I’ve used where I haven’t had to manually adjust or correct balances or transactions due to download or sync issues. One of my favorite features by far is the future balance over time reporting. Amazing work, team! I’ll be a subscriber for years to come.

Meh. UI has good parts and bad Like entering price is horrible. You have to add numbers from right to left. It should work like a normal text box! Reporting is basically useless for me since whatever the account, it would convert the currency to USD and no way to change it and use your currency. UI can be buggy . Specially on iPad and with split screen with another app. Overall 3 stars. It I find a better app, would definitely switch.

Tremendous achievement. Have not even begun to scratch the surface. Great app and best of all rapid and unparalleled support. Seamless synchronization across multiple devices and accounts, support for incredibly obscure financial institutions across multiple integrator pipelines. Also a very clean and intuitive UI. Undoubtedly one of the best apps I’ve ever used in any category. Clearly a labor of love by the developer. Congratulations to the team for this well-executed effort.

Absolute Game Changer. First I'll start by saying.. It takes time to learn the app and set it up properly.. The more time you spend setting up the app and personalizing your financial categories, the more granual you can get with your budgeting and reporting. I tried YNAB and Mint - those were good, but this app is miles above it. 10/10 I recommend Money Wiz.

Latest update bug(s). Edit: Latest update resolved the issue. Now I can continue using the best money app on the market!! ————————- With the latest update on my iPhone 13 Pro, the haptic menu function for inputting a type of transaction no longer functions, and instead directly opens the targeted acct, with no way to exit except to close the app & restart.

Worth it. I had MoneyWiz a few years ago when I lived in the U.K. I tried many of the other options when I moved to the US. I found they were lacking the flexibility MoneyWiZ provided. I was happy to come back and see many improvements had been made and it seems to keep getting better. It’s great I am able to view both my US and U.K. accounts in one place. And keep a manual record of some other assets.

So far enjoying the app. Recently started using this app when support for the previous one I had been using vanished,,, so far have been enjoying the features… would be awesome to add daily balances to accounts when using mobile version, unless this feature exists and I’m just not seeing how to activate it,,, Thanks!

Great Update!. I have used MoneyWiz for years and I am a premium subscriber. Once you set up your accounts and categories, you can see all your accounts up to date and to the penny. I highly recommend this app for keeping track of your finances. The premium subscription is worth the money.

Great Finance app with only one flaw. There's no way to enter a date using the keyboard. They force you to use the actual date picker instead of allowing you to type in the date. It's extremely frustrating as it slows data entry to a crawl. Yet otherwise, it's a great app. Sync works flawlessly, it has a fantastic suite of reports (including forecasting), the Recurring Bills works great. It's just about everything I want in a finance app... ... ...if only I could type in the date.

Best money management app in the market!. I have searched and downloaded 20+ this kind of apps, none of them really satisfy me, only MoneyWiz has nearly all the features I want! The best little feature is downloading the icon from website of my account, this literally cures my pain point! Guys please keep up the great work! And make more useful features! Please remember and keep to being the best in the market!

Complete. I have used MoneyWiz since MoneyWiz1, now using MoneyWiz 2022. And since MoneyWiz 1 the app has been OUTSTANDING! Support email responses in less than 12 hours and guidance has always been perfect. Recently migrated to MoneyWiz 2022, with data transfer and connections with SYNCbits data came back flawless! Thank you MoneyWiz group, you have a very good product. Thanks for all your efforts to keep it very functional and easy to use!

The Best In Personal Finance. MoneyWiz 2023 is way ahead of the rest of the personal finance apps in features, flexablity, and value. The closest I've seen is Copilot which costs twice as much, but still lacks flexibility. The others such as Mint aren't in the same class. I should also mention that the intigration with Plaid (the interface to online financial info) is far better than most. This is an outstanding application and well worth the cost.

Reliable syncing and highly customizable. I tried just about every money tracking app, before finding Moneywiz. Well worth the steep learning curve! I'm in deep now and just getting started. If you are looking for a long-term solution that has the engine to grow with you, this is it! Sending Light to Pavel, under siege in Ukraine, without whom Moneywiz would not exist. I am grateful to support you now. Moneywiz is just what I was hoping it would be!

Best Finance app out there. I have used other finance apps, but data synchronization was unreliable and i found myself more troubleshooting than anything else. MoneyWiz gave me the option to connect to international banks, which was a great improvement for me and it just works. Also, their email support is fantastic!

Money Wiz. Been using MoneyWiz for 2 weeks now. I needed a budgeting app that was reasonable cost. I also needed and app that I can use across my OS devices. I started with Mint, Copilot, MoneyWiz. So, far I dropped Mint. Because I like the simplicity of MoneyWiz. I also needed to created custom loans which MoneyWiz does. I love the UI of MoneyWiz and Copilot. However MoneyWiz seems more to my liking with customizible layouts. I will update later after one month of use.

Update. There are many things I like about the update but the one thing I don't makes me wish I had the old one back. When entering a transaction, you now have to mark it as "pending" instead of the default to "cleared"as opposed to with the old version. For obvious reasons, this makes reconciling with a bank statement more difficult. Not a fan

Best Banking app on iOS/iPadOS /MACOS. This is by far the best banking app on iOS, iPadOS and MacOS. I love being able to work on finances on my Mac, iPhone or iPad and the changes will sync to the other devices. Easy to use and you can connect to many banks and credit cards and it will automatically download for you. I’ll definitely be a long term user.

So far, so good. So far Money Wiz has been great. I do have a wish. I wish the recurring transactions option was more customizable. For instance my pay dates are not consistent, though the amounts are. It is all based on the calendar month. So if I could change that, the app would be perfect. Also, when syncing with my bank online I wish the transactions were better with matching up instead of duplicating would be nice. Update: The payment to a loan is also wonky. I can’t transfer a payment and have it show as a payment, instead of an advance.

Keep Getting Better!. The good thing is MoneyWiz keeps getting improvements on ease of use, while the powerful features remain and each updated version is always stable. For example, the expenses by month in list of transactions view, theses numbers can also be got in reports and even budgets, but having them in transactions view is far more convenient.

the more I use it. the more i use the system I find out how powerful the system is. It took a little extra effort to fully understand how to use Budgeting, but now that I have it set up correctly, it works fantastic. Also found that by really shrinking the date column you can get a MM/DD/YYYY format, thus freeing up space. I have used Quicken, Banktivity and now Moneywiz. (20 years). Moneywiz is the winner

Fantastic. I don’t normally right reviews but this app Definitely deserves it. The free version is great! Used it for a good 3 years. The paid version replaced 2 other financial apps due to all the features it provided. This application is so much more flexible compared to other financial applications. (Split transactions, built in calculator, etc) This app was built with the user in mind! Def will continue using this app!

Excellent app for checking and bank accounts. Love the app and have been using it for years and recently upgraded to this version. It is taking me some time to adjust but liking it so far. It might not be perfect for everyone but their support is excellent and always eager to help which is refreshing in this day and age. I’ve never lacked for help in all the years I’ve used this app. Give it a try!

Long Time User. Been using MoneyWiz for years. Works for my needs of budgeting and tracking my spending. I don’t use the Bank Sync feature. I prefer to input my receipts and reconcile manually. App can be used a lot of different ways for different users. The one time I had an issue the customer support was stellar.

My Favourite App Period. MoneyWiz is a fantastic app that just keeps getting better. The team is always adding new features. I love how it syncs to all my devices and lets me not sync any of my info to servers I don't control or have no reason to trust. I used to use a more popular app that starts with a Q but every update I paid for then I wondered what I was getting for that money as they delayed mobile app functionality and sold my data all over the place.

I've tried them all. I spent months and several hundred dollars trying many financial planning apps, and this one has edged them all. The only thing I hope they can improve is the speed and consistency of pulling pending transactions, along with allowing SetApp users to use the latest version of the app. I am so happy with MoneyWiz that I wish they would refund me for all the other apps I've wasted money on!

Great money-management app!. I've used MoneyWiz for several years now. It's one of the major reasons that I was able to get my finances back in control and to improve my credit score. It's extremely easy to use, and the interface is almost exactly the same between MBP, iPad, and iPhone versions.

love cashflow forecasting with exact scheduled transactions. great app, great support, absolutely love cashflow forecasting with exact scheduled transactions of any frequency incl one time income or expenses which gives you exact balance projections not vague likely averages - Quicken in the early 2000s and Microsoft Money did that and it is the one essential feature to help sweep excess balances into high yield savings if you have money to spare or to avoid overdraft fees if you are living paycheck to paycheck

Fantastic capabilities!. My credit union changed their web platform and I’m no longer able to budget pending transactions. This tool has all that capability and more! I can see how much is coming in and going out. I can see my credit card balances at a glance. I truly love it and the subscription price is wholly acceptable.

Great. Great app , can say its miles better then whatever i have tried to find . As a fresh cardholder etc for the past couple years i had really trouble keeping in touch with all cards minimums lol and payments , this one have the best exp i can find . WIth a glance i can finally see everything . Never stop being awesome , will glady pay for this piece of nice software . Worth every penny

Love it and thank you!. I love this app. I have been using Money App for years and I was always looking for something more, especially in regards to reporting, assets management, investment accounts and multiple currencies accounts. I finally found what I was looking for. Happily paid for the pro subscription. I am sure it can be improved a bit more so happy to have made a contribution.
