Plastic Surgeon Love. As aPlastic surgeon who works closely with dermatologists and specializes in removal and treatment of skin cancers this game is so wonderful! Long overdue! It’s so much more fun than reading articles and journals to improve my knowledge. This is keeping me definitely on top of my game. The full color images of different skin types and pigments is super cool!
Work for free to train AI. I’m having trouble figuring out why a dermatologist would want to train a bot for free after working all day. Seems like it is mostly non-dermatologists using this app (mid levels etc)
Fun and Educational!. As a mostly cosmetic dermatologist, I don’t see a lot of our bread and butter or “zebra” skin conditions anymore. Top Derm has been a fun way to keep on track with these entities, new treatments, and more. And since it’s a game, it’s fun and doesn’t feel like studying :)

Learning in a fun way. I’m a dermatologist and I decided to give top derm a try. I was curious to see what an app could do for my learning. I remember making flash cards in college, medical school, and residency and so I thought this may be a learning medium suitable to my learning skills. Not only it was a great learning experience…but I also had fun while doing it! I really liked the game like approach, I felt like I was doing a useful trivia and felt “smarter” after playing. I liked the images bc as a dermatologist in many cases it boils down to our visual recognition abilities and a refresher is always welcomed and important for my daily practice. The variety of the available content is also impressive, there is a ton for everyone; whether you are more into medical, surgical, or cosmetic derm. Overall, I think this is a great way for me to review and even learn new material (like new guideline approaches) while I have any downtime, either in clinic, at home, or on the go!

Buggy app. Facts are correct if simplistic or ridiculously hard, but app frequently refuses to recognize internet connection unless uninstalled and reinstalled
