Not worth the subscription. I’m not against paying for apps. I enjoy procreate and adobe fresco. I’m willing to pay if it adds value to my pipeline. This however does not. The idea is great. It’s why it got me to download and try it. But the implementation is glitchy. Works better with the proprietary art, but for my uses I really need to import my own stuff, and it starts faltering shortly after I do so. Also there is a glitch where it infinitely zooms away from the edit field after placing 3 objects. There aren’t many tools that can be creatively used. It’s capable of making very basic tileable patterns, you can’t use it for making game tiles or web design wallpapers. This on top of the predatory subscription model makes this a very disappointing app. I could see this pleasing very casual users for a .99 cent one time download price. But currently I recommend anyone on the fence to give this a pass.

Very cool. Expensive but for the people with their own art you can continue for free by making your own patterns. I like it.

Overpriced and doesn’t work. For $28 a month to create patterns? Really? And it doesn’t work like it’s supposed to. If you put an image in the edge, it doesn’t repeat it at the other end and so your patterns will look “boxy”. Worthless. I’m deleting.

Sigh. It does exactly what I need it to do PERFECTLY (I’m a surface designer. I design complex repeat pattern tiles and I needed and application that would quickly and easily apply the repeat to a large canvas). It’s super quick and easy, just upload your tile and press apply, then drag the slider and save. BUT you only get to make two patterns a day for free. And unfortunately I needed to make THREE today.

Needs more Custom Features!. My only real issue is that you can’t use a custom background color. Otherwise pretty darn good!

BUYER BEWARE!. I thought this was a free app with add ins! Turns out you are signing up for only a 3-DAY(!!!) free trial then it automatically converts to a $6.99 WEEKLY subscription! Very difficult to unsubscribe - I think it may be impossible to do so until subscription starts and you’ve already lost $6.99 on an app you’ve never even used!

Falls short, and overpriced. The functionality is missing a few key features. And $364 a year is absurd for what this offers. 1) the app doesn’t automatically pattern options that go over the edge of your work space. To get a true perfect pattern you have to fit your objects within the square, which defeats the purpose, or duplicate objects and resize / move it to be perfectly aligned. 2) you can’t duplicate or delete an object. So if you want to get a nice pattern with objects that overlap the edges you have to eyeball it and hope you get it perfect 3) no customization for output sizes or shapes when you save 4) The app crashes every time I try to save 5) no easy option to create transparency for your own artwork. The eraser is ok but an easier tool would be the ability to select a solid color (like an unwanted background) or use a selection tool Overall, very mediocre and I’m sorry. When your limited app costs more than an Adobe app, you need to rethink your pricing.

It’s ok. I have it 3 stars bcz I felt it was pretty expensive for an app that is limited to the art it has. I had another app that was free and had more content on it. Also for the price it should have more options to work with. Other than that I liked it.

Buttons. The system keeps turning off when I have just about finished a design. Very frustrating. I like it otherwise, but it needs a lot of work! I wish I could have more positive things to say about this app. Please get this up and running correctly. And you’ll have the best app out there for patterns,

Not truly seamless after edit, but works great otherwise. I uploaded one of my designs edits to Spoonflower and there were hairline spaces on my fabric. Easy fix but be careful if you use this for fabric designing.

Great app. It is a fun and artistic way to be yourself. On the app you can simply just be yourself.

Really cool but absurdly overpriced.. This should be a one time 6.99 purchase. I’m shocked that anyone pays beyond the trial. I’m dumbfounded that anyone would pay 6.99 a week. Disappointing because it’s a cool app and I actually imagine that the company would make more money if it was a one time purchase and they attracted more people.

In love with this app. For someone with a Textile Design background, this app is the ONE. I have been wanting an app to do repeats and patterns with...finally!! 🤙🏽

Good. This is a fun app. I wish there was a search tool in motifs bc I’m trying to find a sailboat... and I can’t find one :(

Great. But...... This app is great for editing photos and making cute customized schedules. A little tricky to operate, not a great variety of stickers to edit with, but it is great that you can make your creations private or public. :)

Honestly amazing!. This app is amazing! Create some cool backgrounds for you mobile! Honestly! You don’t even need to buy premium, and still have tons of stuff to work with! I definitely recommend this app if you are looking for cute backgrounds!

Very creative and addicting but a bit too expensive. Good app . It’s very addictive and you can create an array of patterns .

Great idea, frustrating interface. I love the idea of the app (hence the two stars as opposed to one) but something about the phone interface is VERY difficult to use. It may be because I’m used to using a computer being precise with alignments, measurements, etc but it’s very hard to align the objects and make them the size I want them to be. Additionally, I appreciate the size of the motif selection but it’s honestly overwhelming. It’s hard to sort through everything and the categories are messy at best. You can’t search for categories or anything, just endless scrolling. Will be deleting as I don’t see myself using this app unless they improve the interface.

Needs work. The idea is great and the motifs are nice. The problem is that once you add the third or forth motif, the app glitches and destroys your entire work. It’s kind of annoying because you need to start all over. Also there’s no search button for motifs which is annoying

ZERO STARS. First, I was promised a 3 day free trial, and afterwards, I would be charged for $6.99/ month. As soon as I agreed to it, I got a tex message saying my bank was charged $12 by their company and I’m now negative $45 in my bank account. Over a FREE TRIAL that was supposed to cost $7. Don’t waste your tune in trash like this. I wish I could give ZERO STARS.

Can’t search. I love the premise behind this app but it’s really frustrating scrolling through millions of motifs to find anything

Overall, it’s not a bad app.. It’s just that I think they should add a search bar to the motifs when you’re creating a pattern. It’s just a pain to scroll through until you find the category you’re looking for. For example I was just looking for the “cat” and “sea” categories but I couldn’t find the cat category.

Horrible. I downloaded this app to try it out and the idea of it is great! Even the motifs I thought were cute. BUT it’s a nightmare to control, it just kept getting stuck or delayed and the tools aren’t that that great. Even making an object smaller or rotate was hard. I don’t think I’ll ever use it again :(

Over priced. It’s a ok app but $7 a week is way toooooooo Much! That’s $28 a month ridiculous! I remember when this app was $1.99 or free Apple really needs to get a handle on this “ subscription app”crap or customers will leave!

More menu options. There needs to be a search bar to make things easier and a recently used tab.

Extremely unstable. I was ready to buy a yearly subscription but wow, I can’t save anything worth using! Motifs pop behind each other and can’t be brought forward, the elements are very hard to resize and rotate w any finesse, and there’s no logic to the order of the elements which changes every time you close and reopen the picker. Search is non existent. Very disappointing

Works. It works great but I wish I could add my own background or a color adjuster for the background.

Surface Designers Dream!. It’s about time somebody did an app like this. So far I love it! I can flush out my design ideas on the go without having to go to my Mac every time!

A SCAM. As soon as I downloaded the app, the pop up screen automatically signs you up for a free trial that will expire after a few days. Which creates a subscription that you have to pay $40 for, and you most likely won’t even know you are subscribed. I don’t know if I am subscribed because it gave me no other option. The ads look nice, but they are scamming you.

Ehh, okay app, cool creativity.. This app is pretty cool, I just downloaded it. Only two things I’m not fond of. One, with the free trial you have a certain number of patterns you can create a day, it asks you to sign up to create more, but you’re already signed up. So that’s annoying. Other thing is there aren’t a lot of options in some categories, nor is the app easy to maneuver. So overall it’s okay if you just want something to do, if you’re trying to actually create, I wouldn’t recommend.

Good, but poor user interface. This app is exactly what I need to make a pattern for a project of mine, but the user interface is less than good. You can’t zoom in very far, and it’s very touchy. It’s hard to keep images the same size while rotating them. If there were two separate ways to rotate images vs move images, things would run much smoother. (ie how transforming and rotating and enlarging images on google slides works) It would also help if just tapping the image allowed you to access the (duplicate, horizontal flip, vertical flip) menu. Currently you have to move the image, then tap and hold it twice to get the menu to pop up. It’s very clunky. Otherwise the app does its job.

Too touchy. Every time I think I have something in the right spot and I try to add a new element it selects a different area and then my whole pattern is destroyed and there is no undo button on that screen. VERY frustrating

Cool idea, super annoying to use. Accidentally deleted an image I meticulously erased around, and couldn’t undo. Had to start all over again. Non responsive to gestures and does what it wants. Super irritating, but since it can yield cool results, I’ll keep playing around with it.

You can’t find anything. I love this idea, but you can not find anything!!! They have so many awesome images to use, but you can’t search for anything specific. They also have no rhyme or reason for their organization. Not even alphabetical order!

Really good for making patterns.. This is really good for copying your art everywhere repeatedly. Perfect app.

Fun creative app. Make great little tiles with fun colours and textures

Dissapointed. I cant even tell you how much I would’ve loved this app if it had worked but it just crashed all the time and my work was lost. Resizing an image makes it crash, moving items around makes it crash. I tried it on a one year old ipad and a new iphone: same thing. Very unstable.

It’s ok. The idea is very cool, and I like how it’s supposed to work, but most of the time it just doesn’t. The buttons have a hard time registering when you touch them, it’s very hard to undo an action (most of the time it’s not even an option). There’s a very small selection of background colours and if you try to import an image with its own background colour, you can see all the lines where the images are sitting next to each other. I really want to make repeating patterns for backgrounds, but all the other apps I’ve checked out are so much worse than this one. Sorry to be so negative, but I’m just a little frustrated after searching for a decent repeating pattern app for so long.

Non coherent. The top layers keep on disappearing behind the background layer, no noticeable way of moving layers.

Scam. No fee information until you decide to try the app. You are then automatically charged after a 3 day trial. The cancellation instructions provided by the app did not work. They added a note at the end of the instructions saying “some subscribers have had trouble with cancellation. If this is the case for you, please contact Apple for assistance”. Thanks for wasting my time scammers

Best app ever. Very flexible and easy to use

underdeveloped and overpriced. Layers need a lot of work. Let’s say you have one layer and second layer you want to rotate and make smaller. Such a simple task is impossible to do because the background layer gets selected and starts to move. Anything underneath will move if you have more layers. It’s needs layer lock. It needs history button so you can move step backwards. It also needs tools to make more seamless patterns.

Slow, sneaky and low quality. I was looking for a quality pattern making software. This is not it. Little features. No instructions. Slow, and my simple design overloaded the app and deleted what I made. I am on the newest iPad Pro. To top it off, they corner you with a purchase after a few days and will charge weekly. Even $9 would be too much monthly ! I definitely would not recommend.

Scam subscription app. I get that apps need to charge a fee, but an app like this being subscription based is ridiculous. And the expense of this one is also off the charts! I was able to avoid the trap/scam of making you choose a 3 day “trial” then signing up automatically for a pricey subscription. I’m sure many have fallen for it, though. Apps like this shouldn’t be allowed. Neat idea but scammy business practice. Developers - no need to respond with your canned response. Everyone knows it already since you’ve responded to each negative review with the same lines.

Editing capabilities very limited. I love the concept but it needs a lot of improvements. You can’t rotate, resize, or anything else for that matter with this app unless if you have really really really small fingers.
