- Some great pros but a secret price tag

This is a very quick, simple to use app with basic information. It is great for a fast identification of an odd creepy crawly, or in my case to have on hand since moving to a semi-tropical island where everything is venomous, poisonous, or straight up trying to scare you to death. (Huntsman spider, I am side eyeing you) This would also be a great resource for a bug crazed kiddo, and keep them entertained for hours. That said, this is one of those “free” apps that REALLY wants you to sign up for their 20$ a year subscription. Personally I just pushed the X in the corner and I could still use the app, but maybe the paid for version has more info, better features or other bug stuff. For me, I just need the ‘Is this going to kill me?’ Question answered quickly, and this does the trick.

- Great!!

The app is easy to use which offers basic information of insects I identify. I'm a biology and entomology teacher, always go outdoors to find some new insect with my students. In fact, I'm not familiar with some less common insects, I searched on google for a long time to find related information, waste of time. So I found in the appstore for an app which can quickly help me. Firstly, I'm afraid that this was a fake but it actually has worked for me. I identify the insects by taking photos that I would like to learn more and the results are helpful, even save the photo I identified. At least the app can help determine the direction, and then further research to find the exact type. As more people upload photos and recognize more insects, the app may get better! I now recommend it to my students, they all said that it is super fun, easy and fast way to research and study. I'm pretty satisfied with this app.

- Can’t get much better

As far as making an app to identify a bug just by taking a picture of it.. does it get anymore convenient? I HATE spiders but I just moved to an area that’s by a forest and see these big spiders marching around the house. Pretty much just wanting to see what is or isn’t poisonous and the fact this app can pretty much identify most insect even by uploading a pic is...5 stars worthy. It gives a lot of info but there are specific answers I want to know and it would be nice if it provided a little bit more info about the insects, if they can harm your animals or family/friends, and/or how common they are, what attracts them, how to handle them, etc. That would make it more interesting and provide more than sufficient information that I think most people would be curious to know. I’m using the free trial and may try the full version to see if it provides more features. Brilliant!

- 7 day free trial

So sure I’ll try before you buy. So the app is great. Took the picture and received an instant answer. Wow! Now back to the free trial. Says if you don’t like it, don’t pay for it. When I agreed to the free trial I was charged. Most apps what the 7 days before charging you for the year. Just thought you would like to know. I double checked it was a hold and then a payment. Again the app looks real nice but when you offer a free trial it should be an actual “ Free Trial”. I would have given 5 stars but because of the not an actual 7 day free trial I gave it “4 stars”.

- Picture insect!

I was searching up an insect online for a long time to compare, the result is not absolutely correct. Now identify insects has got easier with picture insect, just take or upload a picture of the insect, you can get accurate result in seconds. It offers plenty of info. It's fun and informative, and I now know what the bugs are which on my plants, especially the information of whether the insects are harmful for the growth of the plants, it's helpful for me. For my child, it's a easy way to quickly learn more about nature, the app seems like his toy, more meanful than computer games and learn more knowledge from it. Really good for home learning in lockdown. Really recommend. We love this app.

- Awesome!

I found a bug that looked like a spider I’d never seen before making a home on the trampoline net. I didn’t want to disturb it, but wanted to make sure it wasn’t poisonous. I searched the internet with a description of the bug but couldn’t get results with a picture that matched. Then I found this app. I took a picture, submitted it, and in seconds the app accurately provided a picture and information about the bug. Turns out it’s an assassin bug. After a google search of the name I found that the bug isn’t as dangerous as the name sounds; well, at least to humans.

- Very Accurate... Most Of The Time.

I love this app! I have a big yard with lots of flowers and vegetation and it’s a great tool to use to identify the insects I come across. That being said, I have the plant identification app from the same creator and they both misidentify things. That’s to be expected, so I’ll continue to use them both and recommend them to anyone looking for a quick guide to ID both flora and fauna.

- Wildly Inconsistent

I was initially excited about this app. I have a large plumeria collection, so want to identify friends and foes, since there are many destructive critters out there. But, my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I found that pictures of the same insect were identified as different creatures. In one photo, it is named a citrus white fly, the next picture, taken seconds later, it’s called a carpet beetle. This was not an isolated event, but happened multiple times. So, sadly, this app cannot be relied on for any kind of accurate identification. Hope those who’ve previously reviewed how safe they feel, because they think they can correctly ID venomous spiders and insects realize that this is no more than a random “intelligent” guess.

- Download it!

It is so easy to use and fun. We own a Pest Management business and this app is a great assist to our trainees and less experienced technicians. Even the guys with more experience are finding this helpful. Happy to rate it 5 stars. Have used for several specimens now and am very impressed. The photo is not needed as quite high quality to get a good identification, we have found the app very accurate. Highly recommend Picture Insect for everyone to get to know the world of bugs all around us.

- Identification Lacking Critical Information

This app works well and is extremely helpful to identify the bug. Unfortunately once you identify it, it doesn’t tell you if it is poisonous, or bites or stings. It simply gives you the name and some habitat information. For example, I was trying to identify a spider on our patio that I thought might be dangerous to my children. It was indeed a wolf spider but the entry said nothing about it biting or being poisonous - which of course it is. So you have to look up the insect elsewhere once the app identifies it in order to gain critical information. This kind of info should be included in the app.

- Good app, could be great

Update- the app doesn’t work anymore. It says “reconnected” and then goes right to a white screen. I’ve tried to delete it and redownload and it still doesn’t work. For 20$ a year, it’s disappointing. This app is pretty good. It makes accurate identifications most of the time, and has a lot of great info about the ID’d insect. It also gives several options of IDs in case the first is not spot on. This is a great feature. The reason is gets 3 out of 5 stars is for two reasons. 1) When you upload a picture from your library to ID- you have no control over where the scanner will look when it scans it. This is frustrating because it makes it impossible to identify certain t bugs, and often gives you several wrong identifications. This could be remedied by being able to zoom out on the picture in order to get the full insect into the scanning zone. 2) This is a paid subscription app. It costs 20$ a year- so it is not free as advertised. If the scanner picture issue is resolved, this is well worth the 20$ a year.

- Please include toxicity and/or danger level!!!!

I’ve identified SO many spiders and weird flying bugs. Even some toxic millipedes. Even with fairly terrible pictures sometimes it somehow manages to identify the bugs. Very impressive. I moved to the south and want to know what it is that I’m encountering. I only wish it did a better job explaining the toxicity of bugs/danger level and a level of pain and/or damage inflicted it bitten, stung, etc. I’d really like a better idea of how bothered I need to be about certain bugs.

- Awesome!

Really fast and accurate identification of insects, truly amazing to me. I just moved to Arkansas, where I’ve come across many different species of insects that are unfamiliar to me. Because of this app, it’s become a hobby of mine to keep a collection of all the different spiders I come across. Whenever I see one I haven’t seen before, I get excited and pull up the app! Would highly recommend, for people who love bugs, or to anybody trying to figure out what crawled up into their house. 🙂

- Very Helpful! 😄

I had to do a big project for my science class and I had to identify the types of bugs we find. I couldn’t find what they were so I tried this app and they showed me the exact match to the big I took a picture of! I am very happy with this app and recommended it to all my friends! Very helpful but please make it free or a free option. I only needed it for a week but I still would like to use it in the future! Hope this helps! 🦗🦟🐜🐝

- Amazingly PERFECT!!!

The app is perfect! It used the photo I took and not only gave me a list of species that look similar to my photo, but also gave me the correct specie right at the top!! Tho there are a lot of photos missing, it limits the suggestions to just a few so it makes looking them up easier! The only thing I would suggest for this app to be absolutely perfect is to allow users to add the correct photo of the insect where photos are unavailable. 😇

- Awesome!

I was searching up an insect online for at least one hour and thought of taking pictures for identification. I found this app and another that had higher ratings. The higher rating app had more users, but it could not identify the insect I found. This app, on the other hand, could. I felt extremely relieved when I finally found out what the insect was (Anisomorpha Buprestoides aka Southern two-striped walkingstick).

- Super fun, easy, and fast way to identify insects

I'm an entomology student, and am always finding new insects I want to identify. Not only is it faster than using the internet or a key, but it is also quite accurate and a lot of fun to use! I also love that it saves all the insects you've ID'd and keeps track of how many you've uploaded! It's truely a great, fun way to learn more about the most diverse group of animals on earth!

- Has worked for me

I’m an insect lover and decided to use this app to identify a little bug in our home. It wasn’t even a decent picture but the results were accurate (it was a long-necked seed bug)! I think it’s also nice that the developers are actively trying to make the app as good as it can be by listening to their reviews. Overall, I’m pretty happy with this app and I have a lot of faith in it.

- Amazing!

My daughter found a caterpillar in our yard that I couldn’t find out what kind it was. I searched with proper terms on google an zero luck! I decided to look in the AppStore for an app that could help and found this. Once I took a full body picture of the caterpillar it was able to identify it properly straight away! The caterpillar turned out to be a Pink Striped Oakworm Moth. Don’t hesitate, get this app- 5 stars!!!

- Inaccurate

I know this app has lots of good reviews, but it has been totally unsatisfactory to me. Taking a picture of an insect 3 or 4 times will produce 3 or 4 different i.d.'s. I have filled in information about an insect I was familiar with because the app identified it incorrectly 5 times, with 5 different i.d.'s. I snapped a pic of a jewel bug and it said they are found only in the western U.S... I'm in Virginia. This is typical. The times I've been able to try to is something common such as a Monarch, it's ok. But, I knew that already. Anyway, you can try it if you want. I'm going to look for a different app.

- Pretty great but few flaws

I love this app. I had so many pictures of bugs that I couldn't figure out and it was so fun for me to use this an learn about them. However, 1 out of 4 of the bugs I posted was actually incorrectly labeled by the app. I wish there was a way that I could correct it myself? Overall awesome though.

- Great app and great developer

Originally found app didn’t work in iOS 12.4. Developer immediately fixed the issue. Remarkable. Oh. The app works very well. Only one issue...would like to see the app provide a link to more information about each find including common names. Look at PlantÑet app for example. Nice job you guys!

- Inconsistent and unreliable

I repeatedly get varying results when submitting multiple photos attempting to ID the same insect... and none of them seem to hit the nail on the head for a match between submitted photo/results photos in appearance, shape, or size of the insect. By “repeatedly,” I mean I’ve attempted several different insects and multiple times; it’s not just one insect that it hasn’t produced reliable results for. App earns a star due to the depth of info it provides in the results. Now, just to get accurate results... 🤔

- The best insect app

I haven't had this for that long, but I aready enjoy it. The camera is 10/10 quality, and the identification is 90% accurate. Kinda wish my phone camera was as good as the camera on this app. I don't really like insects, but it is really helpful. The information is great and well-round accurate.

- Sometimes very helpful

This is a useful app that helped me identify a transverse flower fly today after my previous web searches and guide books failed. It requires a careful evaluation of the supplied photos to get to the identification and then additional online verification. However it failed entirely to identify a Tachinidae fly that I uploaded to the site giving a list of incorrect possible outcomes. I will use this as an adjunct and not as being definitive.

- It actually works

Originally I thought this was a fake but it actually works! I had this weird bug on my porch I didn’t know what it was, turns out it’s a mayfly. For years I’ve wondered what that was. All the other bug find your abs costed like 5 bucks but this one costed zero. I am so glad that they made an app for this.

I’m using this app to do my bug collection and it’s working perfectly! It’s giving awesome info the only botherment there is camera focus but that’s not the apps problem but this will help so many bug watchers find out what there watching thanks for making this... I’m telling if u use this it’s AWESOME for what u need -Naturelove80 🐺🌺💚🐾

- Great App

The allows you to take a photo or insert a photo previously taken. Once downloaded the app quickly gives you several different bugs to Possibly compare or it quickly identifies your download A premium subscription is available . Overall great app👍🏼

- Great Educational Tool

My 3 year old daughter has learned my love for bugs and I’m so glad I found this awesome app. My bug books I had when I was a kid are so outdated and this is such a huge database for bug information. This is incredible and my daughter and I go out constantly looking for bugs.

- Love this app!

I’ve been on this app for a total of 15 minutes now, and I am in LOVE! I’m a huge bug nerd, and I love being able to double check what I think I know. I’ve also learned a few things already. Very cool to be able to have this instant info at my fingertips

- Works well, but...

This app tells you everything about the bug you took a picture of. But you need a very good photo of the bug, and you can’t zoom in that much. So you need to be very close to the bug to take a good picture.

- I love this app!!!!

This is my favorite app, my mom almost got bitten by a tick, but because of how quick this app identifies, we were able to find out what is was and get rid of it fast!! I also saw a menacing looking spider in my room, but found out it was only a harmless jumping spider! I love this!!!!

- Bug identification

I think that this app is amazing. It is 99.9% accurate the only time it’s not accurate is when the picture is blurry. Either than that it is amazing. This is probably one of the best bug identification apps I’ve ever used and I’ve used a lot.

- Highly Recommend

Just downloaded to see what kind of spider was in my house, and it classifies it perfectly. I used the free trial thinking I wouldn’t ever need the app again, but it did such an amazing job classifying, and had so many interesting facts about the spider, I may just keep it.

- Great app for kids and adults alike

We have used this app to identify garden pests, caterpillars, spiders, and stinging insects. Shoot, I’ve even helped the random Facebook friend identify their bugs and told them about the app. A great companion app is PictureThis which we use to identify plants. It’s amazing how much info you get with them!

- Great app for quick info

Great app and I like that I can upload higher quality pictures from my main camera. Normally gives me a couple possible choices that are almost always correct. 10/10

- Very accurate

This is one of the best apps I’ve purchased!! I splurged for the annual fee. We see a lot of random bugs out and about on hikes. You may have to take a second picture to get the right answer, but not a big deal. All in all, totally worth it. ☺️

- No way to cancel free trial before being billed!

I tried this app to identify a tick, and it did no better than what I was able to do myself based on internet photos. Now I’m trying to cancel within the 1-week free trial period to avoid being billed $20 for an annual subscription - and there’s no way to cancel! No option in the app, no way to contact developer (who is in China), and it’s not showing up in my Apple account subscriptions or purchase history. Trying to contact Apple for help. DON’T GET THIS APP!

- Suspicious and Misleading

I had downloaded the app on a trial basis after it said that there was a 7 day trial period and I could choose to not renew after the trial period and funds returned. However, not only was I charged but there is no way for me to choose to not renew. There is no 7 day trial details inside the app. To make things worse the "VIP Premium" contact or support page is broken and returns an error message "please enter a valid email" when you go click submit.

- Really cool app!!! Finally a camera app that ISNT a selfie editor

This is definately the coolest app I’ve seen in awhile. Useful and educational. I’m outside with my kids rurning over rocks looking for little cruisers to take pics of. Love it! Kids love it! Wife hates that her garden and flower beds are getting so much foot traffic.

- Very good at identification

This app is very good at identifying insects. Make sure that you have a clear picture of the insect in question. The database is large and it quickly gives you identification and facts about the insect. I’m very pleased with this app.

- Needs improvement

I wish you could adjust the frame when submitting a photo from the album. Makes it almost impossible to use a picture you’ve already taken bc it cuts off the picture of the insect. Have to take a picture in real time through the app. That’s not always reasonable given we taking picture of insects.

- Eh, not that great

I took a picture of the bug, and the app came up with four suggestions, none with pictures. I tried to copy the genus and species (long scientific names) so that I could search them in Wikipedia, but the app has no select and copy functions. So, my only recourse is to write down the scientific name for each possible bug, and independently search for them in the web. Not helpful.

- Accurate

It’s very accurate. Make sure your bug is clear and takes up the whole frame of the picture for it to recognize

- No “incorrect” or “wrong” button

No “incorrect” or “wrong” button. You just click the back arrow and it saves, meaning it’s correct, in your gallery. Here is a preposed idea: don’t say the insect or flower is correct before you ask the user if it is correct. 😤 i’ll push it up to five stars if you do it! (Because the AI correctness is awesome!)

- Works great

I thought my coworker looked a little funny so I took a picture of him and I found out he is actually a Pine Shoot Moth and not human. That explains a lot... I love this app because I would have never figured it out without it

- Quick and easy

If your new to the bug world...get the app. I thought every brown spider I saw was a Brown Recluse. Now I know the difference between them and a Wolf Spider. Very addictive...I take pics of every bug I see now.

- Please add warning levels per bug

Are they dangerous? In what ways could they harm us or other creatures/things? What should we do? We have a yellow jacket nearby. Not sure of possibilities, risks and best options.

- Suggest a name?

Entered a very clear photo of a species that is definitely not a Yellowjacket, and the only thing that comes up is 3 versions of Yellowjacket, zero other suggestions, and then the option to...name it myself? Pointless app. How is there no data set to at least try to ID it myself? It’s wrong, but then gives me no option to say they don’t have it right, and in my library continues to wrongly identify it.

- Didn’t work for me.

I downloaded the app to identify a pest and when I took the picture it pulled up things that looked nothing like the sample.I photoed again and got different selections that still d is not match. Now I am looking for where to cancel a subscription and cannot find that. I find the I app to be difficult to use and not very accurate. Maybe I am just not good at navigating but instructions would be nice.

- Can’t cancel

I downloaded to search for a specific insect which we were unable to locate on your app. The app looks great if we were planning to continually use it, however, using it only once and within the 7 day free trial, we’d like to cancel please. It clearly says in settings how to cancel, although, following these directions doesn’t allow it to occur. Please contact.

- Can’t cancel free trial

I downloaded this App to try it out, and in the process of downloading it, it said I could cancel at any time in the settings. I couldn’t find where to cancel anywhere within the App, but upon review of the joining email I received, the process was very clear and simple. As for the App’s function, I used it to identify a spider, and it was spot on. Came up with lots of information. If I was going to use it regularly, I would have keep the subscription but for a one off, a bit to expensive. May be better off with a one off by fee?

- Fantastic tool

We own a Pest Management business and this app is a great assist to our trainees and less experienced technicians. Even the guys with more experience are finding this helpful. If you get a clear image of the insect you wish to identify we have found the app very accurate. Happy to rate it 5 stars

- Cannot cancel

The app itself is great and would be a lot of fun for someone passionate about insects, however after having used it twice during my trail I wished to cancel. The instructions given on how to do this do not work and I am unable to get in touch with anyone for more assistance.

- Cancel app please.

Hi, I used this app to identify a bug and it worked perfectly but I would like to cancel the app/subscription please I no longer need it. Thank you.

- Only 7 days then have to pay

Had no idea this was only free trial and then paid subscription. Would not have download it if I had realised Downloaded app and then it said. It says to cancel subscription in iTunes if don’t want it but it’s not in iTunes subscription section so could not do this - therefore deleted App. Don’t know if this is sufficient. Still no idea if it’ll try to charge me. Not happy.

- Awesome app

I really love this app. I am so curious, and when I see a spider or insect, I NEED to find out what species it is. This app has solved my problems!!!

- Misleading Information!!!

Downloaded app but did not continue with 7 day trial. Information about the subscription process was not clear in the description and the reviews have been more helpful in understanding the process. I do not want this subscription and better not get charged when I have not proceeded with the trial.

- Can’t cancel yearly subscription

I purchased this app but have since realised that it doesn’t have the features I require. I can’t find anywhere in the settings to cancel my subscription however before I purchased the app it said this would be a option. Disappointed.

- Unexpected fee

I also had no idea I would be charged $32 after one week of free trial, wouldn’t have downloaded if I knew that. I just need to know if that payment is weekly or monthly which will decide if I delete the app today or in a couple weeks.

- Very useful

Have used this app to identify quite a few insects so far. Works very well and is trouble free.

- Best game ever

Best game EVER

- Blind leading the blind

I pay so you can tell me what it is and then you say you don’t know ask someone else well gone ! And you actually wanted me to pay for premium membership what does that include a game of guess who!!

- I want to cancel!

I downloaded this thinking it was ‘free’ but now I find it will cost me if I don’t cancel after the free trial. There is nowhere in the app to cancel it and I haven’t added my email to it so how can I cancel? Is deleting the app enough?

- Definitely NOT!

I normally like this app but when I accidentally took a picture of my child, it turned out to be a Common Fruit Fly. I would be happy to delete this immediately!

- Subscription deducted immediately

Downloaded to try and immediately got an email receipt for the subscription. I DO NOT want to be subscribed to this app

- Can’t unsubscribe

Please update this, I just downloaded so my kids could find the name of an insect and now I seem to be locked into a subscription.. there’s no free trial like what was advertised

- Cancel free trial

Please help ! I have tried everything to cancel this as I do not want to be charged . It appears almost impossible . Shouldn’t be this hard ! Can someone assist ASAP

- Cancel

I’ve just downloaded the app but discovered I don’t find it very useful. I have a 7 free trial period but can’t find how to cancel. How do I cancel.

- I’m extremely unhappy with the app.

This app does not ID any thing I scan I’d like my money back and your subscription removed.

- Insect iD

Too hard to get small insects & makes something up when it doesn’t identify the correct insect!

- Waste of time

Community is just full of unsupervised photos of people being idiots and uncensored photos/comments. Don’t bother

- Uummm?🤔😶😕🤨

Ok have I discovered a new insect or is this app just dumb? I found a cicada with white eyes and star patterns on its back, pretty unique right? Well this app can’t find a match? Sooooo yeah😶🤨🤨🤨

- Misleading and instructions do not work

Unable to cancel free trial. It is not clear from the ‘instructions’ how to do this. Classic b at it advertising.

- Dodgy

Another app that dupes you into getting charged. You should have to opt in!!!! Not have to opt out and make it really hard to opt out

- Rather useless

Not worth the effort or the time let alone the money!

- Couldn’t ID

Not very good at ID little bug. Same bug got 9 different names.

- useless

Thought a ladybird like insect was some kind of ant! Not even close.

- Cancel

Please tell me how to cancel this I downloaded in error

- unhappy

i was led to believe i could trial this app for 7 days first but was charged $31 the day i signed for a trial only, i’m “subscribed “ without even asking to be :(

- Free cost $31

I thought I clicked free trial but then I got charged - do t want app

- Useless!

Absolutely terrible

- Cancel trial

Can’t find how to cancel free trial want to cancel

- Useless

Useless . Does not work.

- cant cancel

i pressed on the trial as i thought it was free and it wont let me cancel

- Cancel free triail

How do I cancel the free trial? Please advise.

- 7 day Free trial with $37.99 deducted

Could I please get a refund due to miss leading information. I downloaded the app as described 7 day free trial but checked my account on the same day 14/12/19 the amount of $37.99 was deducted. Not happy knowing my money has been taken out my account before the 7 day free trial?

- Ok

It works but it sometimes gives you the wrong insect or only a scientific name for the insect. It also gives you a scientific classification on the insect.

- Very cool

But it would also be cool if the app told me if the bugs bite. Can i pick up this beetle and put it outside with my bare hands? Thats what i want to know.

- Vraiment cool 😊

Cette application est très pratique et très intéressante 😊

- Fiabilité

Fiable jusqu’au genre et parfois la famille. Facile à utiliser.

- Great App Concept

I like the concept, information, and layout of app, however, conclusions are not as precise or accurate, as I kept receiving different conclusions for the same thing, but separate photos and shots taken.

- Ok

I took a couple pictures of a moth the first one was not it but the second was good. It’s better than other ones

- Works well but not always 100% Accurate

Works well but not always 100% Accurate. I use it a lot but you need to chalk that it got it right. With good photo quality, it is usually correct. I recommend it!

- Tech Support

Truly disappointing, have sent numerous emails regarding content error and not a single response back. I will be canceling and deleting the app before my trial is even up.

- Excellent

Loving this app ❤️

- Bugs bugs puppy?

Haha it thinks my face is a bug and it thinks my dog is a bug and it thinks my bed is a bug it’s not that accurate but it’s fun! Also you get a seven day trial so if you don’t like it then just delete the game

- Coll

Cool 👍 👍👍👍🤪🤩🦁🤩🎐🧸🦠📿🦠🦠💣🔬🔬🧨👍📿📿🚬

It is a good app you can match different bugs until you find it, when I play it I always look at all sorts of bugs the silly part is that sometimes it zooms in only on the surface it’s on but I still love it!

- Subscription service confusing

Hi there! Although your app seems very useful the free trial vs subscription seems confusing. I tried to sign up for the free trial last night and was instead charged for it. Please reimburse me for the subscription so I can trial the app and then give a more positive review. Thanks :)

- Garbage

4 different answers for the same insect in 4 min.

- ummm

this app thinks a stick bug is a spider.

- Are you serious?

They made the app so they can charge you 26$ right away if you don’t pay attention!!! Careful to click on trial if you only click on continue they are charging you without trial for one year!!!!!

- Difficult

The subject has to be perfect size and centred in the picture which is very hard to do with insects. I have a winged bug eating my live tree, the app is either off the insect as it’s not centred and when I crop the pic, the bug is too large and the wings are cropped out of the scan and therefore I get wrong result. Bugs right color but wrong shape and no wings

- Worth 5 stars

I love it, it's feature filled, you can identity insects without limits, can even identify coronavirus as a moth. Just love it

- Good but bad

Great app but keeps saying I have no internet connect even when I do

- Mostly wrong results

Try taking a picture of an empty sky or an empty wall, and it’ll give you some results. Take pic of a person and it’ll tell you you’re a moth. Wonder if it’s actually analyzing or just guessing. 90% of the times I get the wrong results. I have Picture This for plants and that works great. If it doesn’t know, it just says so rather than making silly guesses. Gotta try a different app.

- Great App

My son is always hunting for bugs and asking questions I don’t know the answers to so this app has been a lot of fun

- Accurate

This app is fast and accurate. Love it!

- Don’t buy

It wrong every time

- Does not work

I had opened the app and it says no connection, all my other apps work except the picture insect, can you please fix it? Then you will get a better rating from me.

- Not worth the price

Didn’t identify stony flies or stone fly nyphs caddis flies only one it did was may fly

- Doesn’t give you an option to cancel

Emailed twice with no response. Wanting to avoid expensive charges.

- Terrible

All insects I have tried to identify were completely wrong.

- Keeps saying no internet connection when i am connected to it

- charged without permission

I have been charged on my itunes account without my consent even after I deleted the app. I tried it for one day then deleted it but somehow was charged without my knowledge.

- Subscription really

Deleted it as soon as I seen the need to subscribe I’ll stick to books and google thanks , one time pay would have been okay

- Doesn’t work

First four photos were wrong.

- Charged without purchase

I was offered a 7 day trial and was charged $30 for the app after deleting it after 10 minutes.

- You gotta pay after a trial

I don’t like that you have to pay so much money for this app. It should be free.

- Good but bad

Getting wrong identifications about half the time

- L’abonnement premium n’est pas dans le partage familial!!!

- Would not work for me

App could not identify my insect. They also charge you for yearly subscription when you install the app. Poor business ethic

- Uh I don’t live in Asia

So I just got this app today and I live in the United States FYI and I found this jumping spider I figured that out by looking at its eyes from a spider eye diagram and it keeps saying Asian wall jumper and I would be confused as of how a spider from Asia got to the United States I suppose it’s possible.

- By me

I love this app but you should add a feature to calculate where bug organs are cause I had a bug and I wanted to see what it was and I lost it and it’s very miniature so I can’t find it it’s somewhere in my carpet...😐🥺😐

- Good

Very good app. The only thing taking it down to four stars is that you don’t say what the insect eats. If someone caught one and decided to keep it, it would die within like two days cause they didn’t know what to feed it.

- Bugged by the big.

I’ve used this app several times now and it is accurate every time. Take a pic and identification is immediate. A good learning experience as well.

- Awesome

I thought I had a colony of harvester ants but it actually was a bullet ant so this app is very helpful because if I haven’t found that out I probably would have been in lots of pain!!!!!!

- Saved

I had a weird looking bug in the corner of my room so I scanned it was a poisonous wasp and if I didn’t know it was poisonous I would just grabbed and chucked down the toilet.

- It did it’s job!

It quickly identified a weird-looking insect I found at home. Even though the photo I took didn’t have good quality. Great!

- Use it more than I expected to

This app is hands down one of the best parts of my 2020. Discovering bugs has been a joy to my little witchy heart.

- Uploads great, but disappointed sadly

I was hoping this app had an pretty good range of entomology. However, if you live near a subtropical forest forget it. It couldn’t even diagnose a dung beetle, it called it an oriental cockroach😂 The moth range must be only be for the USA. The upload feature was easy and very fast, however. If the range of insects expands, I will consider reviewing again. Until then, so glad for the free trial.

- Not really

Not what I expected. I didn’t care for the fact that they auto renew. If I want it I can renew all by myself. A few weeks later and ur asking for another chance? Why u do an auto renew and I totally disagree with that policy. If I pay for something and use it and like it if I miss it I will renew all by myself. I don’t want or need u going into my pocket to auto renew. Thanks

- Not very accurate

The camera doesn’t focus on the right part most of the time and usually the “suspected” insect is nothing close to what it looks like. The options are usually very far off from each other if there is more than one “match”. Very disappointed that I paid for this app and will have it for a year.

- Far better than most

I find myself turning to this app in increasing measure, as it far surpasses others I have tried.

- Novice friendly

Very easy to use & information is provided quickly

- Fantastic, very educational

I’m really enjoying using this app. As a longtime insectaphobe, I feel less anxious knowing what I’m dealing with when I see an insect I don’t recognize.

- Failed me when I most needed it...

Downloaded this app to identify spiders in my apartment, worried some of them might be dangerous. When the biggest spider came out, app claimed no internet connection. (My internet was working perfectly fine for all other apps.) Tried restarting it many, many, many times, tried deleting and redownloading the app. Still nothing.

- Good

Exactly what it says and does a great job at it unless your phones camera isn’t very good then it doesn’t work very well.

This app isn’t worth the $20 they are asking. It didn’t identify the insect, it took multiple times before finally it recognized the bug! NOT worth the $20!!! Also it says you can cancel before the 7 days if you don’t like this app but there is no place where I can go in the app to cancel! I’ve sent two emails asking to cancel and no response!!

- Awesome, but need to subscribe

Thank goodness for free trials... anyways great app, helped my sister calm down when she found a nursery web spider but couldn’t figure out what it was.

- So helpful! 🐛🦋🐌🐞🐜🕷🦟🦗🦂

This app is incredibly helpful and accurate! It has correctly identified my bugs almost 100% of the time! This is awesome!!

- Makes you subscribe without being clear

It makes you subscribe first to use it. No option to change from their yearly subscription of $20 even though on iphone subscription setting, there is a monthly subscription option. Its not even a free trial and then subscribe. I accidentally clicked okay and it charged me $20. What a scam

- Oftentimes close, but inaccurate

The suggestions seem to be only based on the photo and not on proximity so native species aren’t always the first result. I found much more accurate results with another app and it is free. There is a charge for the app.

- Great quick reference

I live in the middle of woods and there’s no way to remember every crawler or flyer, so I use this and it has been fantastic!

- Thanks a million!

I love this app! Thanks to you I can figure out what spiders are toxic in my house or yard and if my toddler needs to stay away from it or not.

- Accurate

This program works well.

- Great responses - would like more info

Would be a great addition to know about the insects attributes, if it’s safe around humans, or bites. Also how to help one, like a larva - when it’s incubation time is.

- Struck out

Sadly, we tried identifying five bugs common to our area (a centipede, a roly poly, a slug, and a couple others) and the results were off each time. It was hard to photograph the bugs, so partly my fault, but still disappointing. I wish I'd had a copy/paste ability to easily copy the scientific names into a search engine.

- Poisonous, venomous, dangerous to humans

I would like to know if any insect I take a picture of would tell me if it is dangerous venomous or poisonous to humans. Today I took a picture of a spider and nowhere on the app from the description says anything about if it is harmful.

- Wrong insects

I was testing out this app for fun at first but now I’m testing it out because I wonder if it works good. It doesn’t work well at all. I take a picture of a fly and it thinks it’s a horse fly. I take a picture of fly eating something yellow and it thinks it’s a Sonoran bumble bee. I take a picture of a stink bug and they think it’s a prince baskettail. This app is stupid.

- Works like a Champ!

Love it! Works great. I’ve used it a few times and it always came out with the correct answer.

- Charged me after canceling!

I tried the free trial of their premium and cancelled that day and they still charged me!! This is especially problematic because I am not unemployed due to the coronavirus and have limited funds! I am asking Apple to refund the money and I requested that they cancel my membership again so we will see what happens.

- Helpful for gardening

This app has really helped me determine which pests are friends in which are foes in my organic garden. Absolutely love it, use it every day!

- Don't fall for the paid subscription

When you download and open this app, it makes it appear like you have to set up subscription to use it (with a free 7 day trial). Don't fall for it. You're able to use the app without a subscription for free.

- Disappointing! Trial works and than not anymore

App doesn’t work all the time it states no connection, while I’m on 4g! Or internet! All the other apps work! Tried to reach customer service and no way to reach them! Very unprofessional! Trial worked...And than not reminder charges your credit card but no app!!

- Love It !!!

You don’t have to pay for anything. This got me a great grade on my Bug project. This app is great and gives you a lot of information 😃😃

- Loved this app

Found a bug near my front door, my husband told me it was a tick! This app helped me identify it correctly and put my fears to rest:)

- Picture insect pro

This app has been correct every time .. Excellent ... Even got it correct having submitted “larvae” photos !!

- Doesn’t access phone pics

Tried under the trial period and if it isn’t live pic then you can’t identify such as someone sending a picture and saying do you know what this is and fees the picture to app. There is an identity flower app that does this ...

- Camera

This unfortunately does not work as well as the plant identifier app. Biggest issue seems to be that the focus area for the camera is not the same as what is used to identify the bug. As a result, the answers come back wrong. If they can improve the camera aspect, I would buy this.

- Very good!

I was hesitant this would work but when I was bitten it immediately identified the bug! I was very impressed.

- This is rated 5 best app

I recommend this app the best I found this spider and it was crawling on a tree thanks for the information. 5 stars best bug and arachnid identifier. Thanks.

- Do not download!!

This app charged me $20 after only using it for 15 minutes!! Will force you into a subscription even if you haven’t even created an account with them. Will be disputing the transaction with my bank and will never download again. Beware of those subscriptions!!

- Pretty good

The minute i downloaded it I took pictures of 3 different bugs and it was super fast !

- Easy and quick

Easy to review bugs on the fly

- Everett

There are so many bugs! The bug identifier helps me find out what they are!

- Great App, Just some suggestions.

This is an awesome app! But could you increase the camera quality some more so it’s not as fuzzy? If you can, thanks! But if not, it’s okay. Great app!

- Outstanding

Love it!! I’m always wondering what insects I come across and is helping me become more knowledgeable about wildlife.

- Interesting app but can’t figure out how to not have the subscription

I wouldn’t get this app. As they say 7 day free trial and then you can’t figure out how to cancel. Maybe there is a way to use for free but they make it really hard to figure out.

- This is great!

It is so helpful finding out what kind of insect I’m looking at. Is the insect helpful or one I don’t want around.

- Good app.😁

This app is good.🙂 It’s not always right about what type of bug you took a picture of, but for the most part it is really a great app.😄

- Thank You so Very much for doing This

Amazing ! Thank you. I finally have a place to go to learn about the Nature All Round Us/Me. 🙏✌🏽💕🌞🤣💃
