App works just fine. I was definitely hesitant in July when I first signed up after reading quite a few of these reviews, but the app has been operating smoothly for me for about 2 months now. I think most of these reviews are coming down to lack of technological knowledge. The big issue I’ve seen is with the background check, and my roommate happened to have this issue when they signed up as well. They go by their middle name, so they put their middle name as their first name on the background check. This caused a delay of having to reach out to TaskRabbit every few days for over a month just to adjust the legal first name on the background check. That part was definitely annoying. Having said that, if the information was filled out properly, the check would have gone through in a few days like mine was. For the app itself which is what these reviews are supposed to be for, I’ve only seen a single glitch and it was patched in a week. For those with issues, delete the app, close out all apps running in your background, perform a soft reset on your iPhone, and re-download the app. This should solve the majority of issues for people if you have a legitimate issue with the app.

User Unfriendly but lots of Jobs. Found it user unfriendly and complicated to connect with clients. If we’re available all day there should be an option to choose all day or all week instead of clicking each individual 45 min block for an entire week. Also shouldn’t be forced to accept a job before being able to chat with a potential client, I’d like to know more about what the job entails and where the location is before I commit for safety reasons and planning transportation. Then when I forfeit the task the chat disables which is unfortunate because I would want to re-schedule with clients but kept losing the chat. There shouldn’t be a steep learning curve if there doesn’t have to be one. Other than that I get a lot of hits for jobs but it’s too complicated to actually work them.

Robotic, Unresponsive, Lack of Due Diligence. I paid their $25 application fee in late January of 2022, and finished setting up my profile, about 2-4 hours of work. I put in two email complaints via their true website, and one complaint sent through the app, once a week over the last three weeks, all of which have been completely ignored other than the robots directing you to look at the forums. Long story short, they are breaking the law in the state of Ohio by making employees pay to become an employee, highly frowned upon here and I’m sure in other states they employ people in. I explained in one email that it is common practice to “garnish” wages from the paychecks of an employee for their personal expenses the employer helped cover, but to require those fees up front is illegal. No replies to ANY of my responses from this skeleton crew they may have working customer service. No emails at all. It is to the point I am demanding my money back as I paid them over FOUR weeks ago and they have still not gotten my account activated because of the Background and Identity check, which I was born and raised in the USA as the majority of the two generations of Germans before me, and have a clean record as far a background check. If you need a job, look elsewhere. They are careless about your needs as a new Tasker.

Garbage app by a company that functions like a clueless startup.. This company is not new, therefore neither is their app, yet it acts like a startup with little to no support. Aside from the bugs that never seem to get fixed - especially the chat function of the app, which continually fails, produces errors, and doesn’t even have a text field large enough to compose a meaningful message to a customer - there are some basic design flaws that are continually ignored. First and foremost: you’re not given the ability to draw up separate service areas or select separate available dates for separate task categories. This is like if they didn’t let people select different rates for different categories. There’s no way to turn off your availability in a certain task category for specific days, therefore you have to be available for ALL or NONE of the categories that you offer service in, which means you inevitably have to turn people down for tasks on days that you were trying to leave open for other higher-paying tasks. As a result of this, even though having completed over 200 tasks (with over 150 of them being in the same category) about 75% of other Taskers in my area come up in customers’ searches before I do. This is extremely lame.

Not great, not as bad as it was. This app is ALWAYS having a glitch in one form or another. Current glitch for me is a recurring customer now shows on my calendar for a 24 hr gig, when it's only 4 hrs booked. The work around is that I don't schedule him anymore. I just show up on the day we have then create an invoice and submit that day. I'm Elite status and my issues are always handled or I get a response quickly. I have only encountered one annoying customer which I cancelled because she kept adding non cleaning related requests. One tarnished my 5 star status because she wanted me to work 45 min for free and I wouldn't. I told TR to block both people and they did. Some clients are SHADY. They'll book weekly recurring to get the big discount then cancel the gig. TR SHOULD NOT allow anyone to book recurring until after the first gig is complete. For the most part all my clients are great. The key is communication. If you communicate well and often you can get a feel for the client's personality. One lady wrote me back in all caps telling me I'd be liable for this and that in a 5 paragraph diatribe. I cancelled the gig. There needs to be more options for cancelling, like, "not a good fit." Instead of, "I LACK tools."

It’s not business.. Customer scheduled appointment at 12pm for furniture assembly, at that day he called and asked to reschedule and I rescheduled the job same time next day. I had to move other customers a bit to fit him to my schedule. The day he called me 30 min before the job saying he can’t do it today. I drove 30 miles to his house. I asked him to cancel the job, he said he will. He didn’t. I texted support, explained everything. Customer doesn’t respond on chat. I called the customer again, he said he would cancel. 12:30 I canceled it on my side as I was told to do by support. Soon after I’m getting a note that they will not compensate my time because there is no written arrangement made. So I drove 50 miles loop and waisted 2 hours with no pay. I contacted support and they did nothing, you can’t call them their line doesn’t work, person in chat careless. They connected me with client. The was scheduled. I’m getting only neglect. That’s why you are never a contractor, you are paying commission for nothing.

Mid-Americans and people struggling need not apply. What a Great Gimmick this app is… Leads you to believe as a Small American Business owner you can market yourself, with the ability to promote your skills and tradesmanship to the people whom are needing your particular services yielded… GREAT IN THEORY, right? That is until you pay the admin fees (for something that is done electronically and not by a human) and though you are a legitimate tax paying AMERICAN BUSINESS MAN. Legally licensed, Bonded, Insured and Established. But because of something (of a personal nature that has NOTHING to do with ability to conduct business, the service provided, the quality nor Integrity of a persons business) Your business does not qualify due to you having a legal issue in your personal background. Oh and don’t expect your admin fees returned when you are told without chance of saying otherwise that you’re not good enough to be part of their Great Gimmick… Oh and the kicker is the person whom referred me to this app and whom use it to enter unknowing clientshinesg get Has a lifetimes criminal background as apposed to simple infraction that I was denied over… So please don’t waste your money on this app… not when atleast when you play AngryBirds you know your money was spent on GoldenEggs and not someone elses American Dreams

Life changing. I have been a tasker for coming up on two years but only really got serious about it in June. Since then my life has taken a 180. I was able to get my family a second car, move into a home I wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise, and have much more confidence in things I do day to day. It was NOT an overnight transition. There is a steep learning curve honestly. However, if you stick with it and always put your best foot forward, the rabbit WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU lol. I’ve been blessed with so many unique clients and opportunities have presented themselves as a result. I know many are freaked about their background check. TR HAS NEVER STOLEN FROM ME. I have got more accolades in my short time doing this than I ever got in 18 years of call center. Please review glass door and understand right now with the coronavirus EVERYTHING is slow

Blocked my account and my money for more than 3 months without explanation. Hello Taskrabbit. At first I was very pleased with this app, since it gave me a job. I’ve been working really hard to be the Task elite and I’ve been every month. At the beginning of August my account was simply suspended, without giving an explanation and it is still closed. Blocked my money. The amount is decent with 4 zeros. About 10 times I wrote the support team, they answered, wait for the answer to email. Three months have passed I am still waiting for the answer. I was out of work for 3 months. I called the support team and they didn’t send an email either. Can you please tell me what happened to my account? Please send my money to my checking account.

Already a misleading disappointment. One of my friends recommended this app, when I was telling him that I wanted to find writing and editing jobs. After signing up and listing that I was in Houston, they literally limit you to three types of jobs in Houston and do not allow you to search their site for more jobs, which makes me think that they are definitely incompetent in their market research. The only jobs that were supposedly available were cleaning, mounting furniture, and small repairs, and moving. I am a writer and a communications specialist. There was nothing on those types of jobs or website or graphics or videography, or anything else to do with content creation, nor the personal assistant opportunity that I first saw in the Task version. I was really looking forward to listing my flexibility towards many areas, and yet they still have the nerve to ask for a $25 registration fee. The only good outcome is I definitely won’t be having to pay that while wondering if it’s worth it. What a waste of hope.

Beware of the Policy Team. Once upon a time I was the top performing Tasker on TaskRabbit & My account has since been wrongfully deactivated for a little of a year now with out the policy team not being able to make reference to a particular incident or report causing the abrupt There was mention of billing off the platform but clients constantly make requests and take initiative to cover task expenses on their own so that the tasker (like me) can fulfill these request. I believe this is a plot for the app to charge customers exuberant fees for non-labor related expenses. Such expenses include immediate purchases, vehicle rentals, and other job expenses and so forth and so on. The nightmare stories of the policy team not caring about taskers is true. They treat us as dispensable digital commodities and not as real people dealing with difficult clients making ridiculous requests and constantly trying to low ball workers, then go to TaskRabbit for refunds or complaints. I made sure to always have budget approved in chat and billed my worked hours in chat and yet somehow I did something wrong. I really wish TaskRabbit will do better and have a change of heart and start treating the Taskers doing the work like real people and hopefully be fair enough to reinstate my account.

Company that scams people. It's not just a job, it's a career. For a long time you work and get clients and good reviews and that's when you get normal money, the company simply deletes your account. Without explaining the reasons, without understanding, emails and communication ends with the fact that - sorry, we cannot restore your account. There is a feeling that they are cheating your clients, and you are simply removed. Four emails were written before they refunded me the money that was on the account. Almost a month without a word about my money, only after they agreed to give my earned money. There is no reason why they do this, they also do not explain anything. This is not a company, this is a scam against ordinary people. You can risk working, but like me, you will most likely be banned too when you have enough clients. My account was deleted 10 days before Thanksgiving, then Christmas and then New Year's, but they don't care, I was just deceived and this happens all the time in this organization. UPD: Now I read other reviews with similar cases. They respond to your review like this - We apologize if you give us a chance we will reconsider your problem. But in fact, they do nothing, they just automatically answer and that's it. It's funny and at the same time terrible how such a company is allowed to work with people and the law does not react to it in any way. Such actions can break a person's life and no one is responsible for this.

Hippity hip. I joined the rabbit over two years ago in my market is pretty slow especially in the beginning but it started to pick up any other good thing is you know you can do it wherever you are it’s not restricted to one location. I have done every app out there as far as self-employment goes and by far the most supportive as far as help the best paying because you can make your own hourly rate is task rabbit nobody touches their capabilities I’m so grateful for this app for not treating us workers that do all the actual work for the brand like crap. Because for the most part every other app out there, the carrot, flex is the worst, handy (worst experience ever working ). THANK YOU Task Rabbit for actually appreciating those of us doing most the work;)

Best handyman app. This is a really useful app for beginning business owners! It does take some time to gain enough customers, and of course the analytics don’t exactly reflect reality, but again this is useful. For example, it’s not exactly good etiquette to have a customer schedule same day for much of the industry I am working it. Personal customers appreciate having a phone/text exchange for agreeing on a date and time. If you so happen have multiple events coordinate at once, sometimes you must forfeit other jobs. In short, don’t try using too many apps for getting work as they may cause conflicts with each other. In my opinion, this is the best app for handymen starting off their own company. Other apps are dull or scams at worst! Just hang in there with this one.

App Login. I have yet to use the app and I’ve made two accounts with different emails and am unable to sign-in to either. I keep getting a 429 message on the app on my phone. I talked with customer support trying to solve this issue but keep getting redirected to do the same thing or my queue space keeps timing out due to waiting and I automatically get sent to the back of the line. I was really looking forward to the app but it’s been quite a frustrating start-up so far. And yes, I’ve tried both on laptop and phone while clicking both “Already have an account” or “Get Started”. My TaskRabbit account works fine though, however when I just signed in, SOMEONE ELSE’S PHOTO is on my profile picture. Literally have only had this account for an hour and idk if there’s a security issue or what but idk this person and it’s not looking too good at the moment. I’m sure the intention behind it was awesome and truly it’s a really good idea for an app, however, these things (security and login) and key if it wants to survive.

Dated. The app is good to make money but it is a bit dated. The inability to set yourself a one time schedule availability is a tad annoying. Having to set up it day to day is just too much. Sometimes I don’t even want to use the app because of the process. If there were a setting to just set a full availability for the week would be nice so if someone needs something for a certain date it can be set up as optional in the calandre for me to approve if the client and I agree. Turning on and off same day I’d also kind of annoying because some days when you’re free, you just simply forget to do it. The app would be 1000x better if we could just set our available day/times up one time and it just stays as that until we change it due to some life event or change of daily routine. Most schedules should be the same, example; I’d set Monday-Friday as available from 5 P.M. to 11 P.M., Saturday as all day and Sunday as off. I would then only adjust if something comes up during those time frames but at least won’t have to set it every time to get work.

Performance Feature broken, scammy customers. The new performance feature that’s supposed to help you walks you through what’s new and then freezes the app. It shows “0 total tasks” on your profile for certain tasks even though you have completed many tasks and have only 5 star reviews. Clients can not pay and you have to waste your time trying to get it paid. They seem unable to see chats and reviews in their own app to see when people are trying to scam them and put the task on you to make your case. It’s weird because you can see that they aren’t refunding clients for crappy taskers on the Better Business website, but somehow the good taskers don’t get paid from a bad client. Oh and it allows you to incur $250 worth of expenses .on a job and then includes that in your income numbers.

RUN!!. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! They have you do jobs that you pay for a service out of pocket and wait days if not weeks to get paid back. If someone is cheating the system they wait days to have them “update their payment information “ instead of get you paid while they deal with the client., If you work super hard and the person decides they don’t want to pay you they can lie and leave you a bad review and not pay you for your time! I worked 5 hours outside in the Tucson summer sun putting 4 pieces of patio furniture together that was poorly made and half of the pieces required that I reach in and screw the Allen wrench and hold the nut without being able to see it and some how I was the one who wasn’t efficient?! He couldn’t put it together and neither could his adult some and wife but now the greedy person won’t pay me for my time and effort. Unbelievable. Oh and if you tell someone you are not willing to do something that will require you to pay, it is held against you. I paid $200 worth of out of pocket tasks and didn’t get that back for weeks leaving me nearly broke with 2 mouths to feed. Yeah I strongly suggest that you stay away from the app and the company.

Good but needs some work. Decent way to make good side income. My main issue comes from customers intentionally misleading the Tasker as to what needs to be done. This happens to me a lot specifically with the ikea furniture assembly, customer will put that only one item needs to be assembled. Upon arrival to the job, I find that the item in the description is not even the one needing to be assembled and there are usually many other items that were not included in the task description. This leads to an awkward situation between Tasker and customer. At minimum the customer should be required to submit photos (not the stock item from the website) of the actual item they have on hand so that taskers can come better equipped with proper tools if needed and not waste time for both parties.

Horrible customer service.. I contacted task rabbit through their chat. I asked them to fix an unfair glitch. Task rabbit has not replied to my concern. I was doing a task for a client. The same client added a different task while I was in the middle of doing the first task for him. I didn’t reply within the hour and got a bad metric rating because of it. It was with the same client. I talked with the client, and he and I cleared up the the issue without any problems. I let task rabbit know that it is all on chat between the client and myself as proof, and still no fix. This unfair treatment has hurt my Tasker status. I haven’t received one task since. I am going to cancel my status with task rabbit and I highly recommend you don’t use this crappy company. Replied to task rabbit email. It was a computer generated reply. I tried to clear up this issue. They have a drop down that has no solution to my problem. And since I haven’t been able to reach a human I am keeping the one star rating. Their algorithm has too many unfair glitches. Bad company, don’t use.

Best gig platform, but app is buggy smh. Currently, Tasker is easily the best over Handy and HomeAdvisor for a pro. The ability to communicate with clients about the job at length is awesome. The fact that you and client MUST communicate in order to accept a job is also crucial in ensuring the clients needs are communicated is great. I much prefer it over other apps. The only fail point for me is that it’s buggy on my iPhone 8+. I’ve had to go through hours of turning off the phone, uninstalling and reinstalling. Updating iOS, same shenanigans, had to have my account paused. Then all of a sudden it works, for a while. So while I love the app as a pro, the bugginess of it is the only thing holding it back for me.

Great app, room for improvement. I love the app and how much flexibility is built-in to list my availability in schedule and task types. One of the things I have an issue with is for same-day tasks: even if I respond in the chat to inquire for a project, the app does not allow me to confirm the task until the client responds, but yet it reflects poorly on me as a Tasker as if I did not respond in time and my account gets paused. A possible solution could be to send clients a notification/reminder that I’ve sent a message and they need to respond in order for me to confirm the task — or to remove the requirement of having both sides send a chat in order to confirm a task. I love the app and plan to continue as a Tasker! It could be helpful to include a feedback center in the app to offer user suggestions like this.

Honest review from former taskrabbit member.. I been on taskrabbit for 5 years as worker, but I would have to give taskrabbit a poor rating. When it comes to support and protection for workers, taskrabbit do not provide a good service in this area. Workers are often suspended or terminated for false allegations from customers who hire a service provider but don’t agree with the final payment. Also taskrabbit don’t have any real health insurance for their worker and some jobs can cause health issues. Overall; this app has a more improvement to develop. Their policy teams is not reliable and do not respond to messages promptly. There also major glitches on the platform, which can cause you to miss a task or accidentally cause you to enter inaccurate information that you will be penalized for. I give this app a ZERO. Great !. Highly recommended, especially in this crazy economy and covid world we live in now. I’ve built a nice income stream based on honest, hard work. But having clients that truly appreciate your work and give you great reviews is something that I almost never got working in the corporate economy. My only recommendation is for Taskrabbit to improve the chat and notifications. It’s not intuitive, when you get a notification from a client you have to search through all of your jobs to see who is reaching out and it might only be a TR message. It would be nice to have a chat thread section where ALL notifications show up. Similar to messenger or something like that. But keep it going. I like working for myself and TR makes it possible and profitable.

Good overall, BUT…. My only real complaint is anytime a clients charge fails it takes way longer than their policy states to get paid out. I have had this happen several times, each time I went through the steps, hit the button to request payment and after waiting the 4-8 business days got nothing. Every time I have had to contact customer service to be compensated. As of today, February 19, 2023, I am still waiting on payment for a client whose card failed on January 6, and I have requested payment 4 times. Hopefully after contacting a real person it will be addressed. That is my only real issue with the company, app, and customer service. Other than that it’s been a blessing I was able to quit my full-time job and work my schedule around my kids.

Job. I have been working for over a year. maybe 2-3% of not fair reviews from me, but I don't want to waste time challenging. support service, always helped when needed. I could give 4 stars. only for the fact that the client can just leave a bad review, just because there is no way to do what he wants. for example, hang a swing in an old building from the ceiling using one hook. and it was also necessary to repair the damaged blinds, there were not enough parts in the kit. but the client didn't like it. the client can simply leave the assessment without a description, which is sometimes not fair. I must describe why I am not satisfied with the client. Sometimes there is simply no time for it. I would like to take this into account.

scam they take you’re money. They have you pay to use the platform after you sign up (which they should let you know it’s not free to use the app before having you do all that work) anyway I pay the money then they run a background check and if you fail you can’t use the app which is why they shouldn’t charge you a non refundable price to use the platform if they aren’t going to allow you to use it it’s not worth the investment because even if you do pass the test they don’t really have customer which means you don’t either they don’t have ANY jobs coming in available so you won’t be making you’re money back. I say it’s a scam because they do what scammers do and they tell you you’re paying for something and gives you nothing in return so you’re just giving away you’re money for no reason do not use this app because it’s not free and you won’t be using the app since there isn’t ever any jobs available

Life changing. I started off part time as i aM a union construction worker, i went from assembling ikea furniture, to mounting tvs and shelves, now im doing home repairs, minor plumbing and buying a work van, in 2 months i made almost 20k,, i had this app on my phone for almost 3 years before i started using it. Start off low, pay your dues theu will raise your prices for you! Be honest with customers, give good service and they will rebook you through TR.. i charge $80 an hout for mounting, and i get plenty of work in NYc, i plan to do this full time, you have to save money to pay taxes , save your reciepts , record your miles, learn new skills, plumbing jobs pay up to $180 an hour with 2 hour minimum, its not rare for me to make $700 a day, start low, move up slow and this app has amazing customer service, gets you into the entrepreneurial mindset, i hope it doesnt change, i am very satisfied,, electrical jobs pay easily $75 an hour,, you can make this a full time career in months, This is a game changer , i use all the other lead generating platforms but 95% of my work comes from TR.. god bless the CEO and staff, its not unheard of making 200k annually, just google it and youll see you can do this!! Stay focused and start gronding itll pay off fast! Trust me

No support and respect to taskers. My client gave me 1 star. I explained my position to TaskRabbit and wrote three letters and even after that they refused to support me, despite 40 other ratings and correspondence with the client. They refused to help me and simply ignored my opinion and position. After I spoke with the client, he wrote to support that this was a mistake and that the review should be removed. Support wrote that they will remove the review and it will no longer be visible after updating the application. And what do you think? I updated the app, but this review is still there. I wrote to support, they did not apologize, did not say they were sorry, they JUST GAVE EXACTLY THE SAME ANSWER as in the last letter. This is complete disrespect. Do not work here, find other ways to earn money, here you will be humiliated and will never be respected. The company makes money from you, but does not even think about helping those who make them have money. TaskRabbit need to change your policy towards Taskers, you need to start respecting and protecting your Taskers. And I’m sure, that they will just answer me “we apologise for this situation” but wouldn’t do anything to fix this situation. You can read a lot reviews here that taskers asking for help, and they get “we apologise”, but they never help. Stop lying, stop apologising, just be honest and help Taskers. Stop spending millions on your marketing, start working on your support

Wish we had more editing ability. I love being a Tasker!! Make great money and the features are great. However, I’m writing a review because I’ve encountered the same issue several times now - once a task is scheduled we can’t really edit it aside from rescheduling the date. If I want to change the rate, add an additional date, make it recurring, etc I have to have the client cancel the task and rebook it…not a good experience for them, especially as a fair amount of my clients are not tech savvy. I should be able to edit rates and dates in the current task on my end, and then a notification pops up on the client’s end to confirm and we are good to go.

My 2 year experience as an Elite Tasker. I will keep this simple: It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting out or if you are a professional that their platform would normally endorse under the title of “Elite”, the support team will not help you. If you have any opportunity whatsoever to handle a client opportunity outside the platform, you should take that route if possible at any time! I have been penalized due to software bugs affecting metrics, a time where my phone broke and I was unable to contact a new client during a 3 hour period, misunderstandings, and client-sides mistakes. Do not expect help from Taskrabbit HQ. Just wait 30-60 days until you can have your elite rating back. There is no reliable option available to you as a tasker. The app is extraordinarily glitchy for us taskers to use. If a message takes a long time to allow you to send, it’s because you have to sometimes wait about 40 seconds before the send button will become responsive. The app will lock up during time sensitive times, and you’ll just have to deal with it. I suggest refreshing the app or restarting your phone. No, you cannot use a computer to communicate with clients. No, you cannot set schedules with your computer. Yes, when penalized, Taskrabbit support will tell you to use your computer when your phone is broken. Don’t ask me why.

Best Gig Service. I've been a Tasker for 5 years. Surprised to see the recent reviews but I will say from my experience this has been the best gig economy app I have used. You set your own rates and there are plenty of services you can offer through them such as furniture assembly, moving, electrical, plumbing, etc. I'm sure the amount of work you get will depend on the area you in but I would say if you are in or near a big city you will do well. May take some time to get your foot in the door to get started as you will be up against others with higher ratings and more jobs completed but hang in there. It's worth it!

Great but suggestion. I’m literally a baby Tasker. I started last month and would have gotten 3 tasks in a week. However, was only able to complete one. The other 2 cancelled and one client specifically said they could not see a completed background check. I communicated that I should have one on file but he insisted I share some other social profile with him for verification processes. After the second cancellation, I reached out to support to make sure that my background check was on file for the clients to see. Though, support said I had completed a task and that I was fine. I ended the chat still not a 100% sure if my background check is easily accessible and visible to prospect clients. So my suggestion would be please notify talkers with an actual notification that hey your background check is completed and is viable to clients. Overall awesome avenue to make extra income already have 2 tasks lined up for the week. Thanks!!!! Negative changes. I’ve been on the TaskRabbit app since 2019. It literally changed my life in a positive way. I’ve met and worked with great people through this app… But since the latest update, the request for job has significantly dropped. I’m not even getting hired same day jobs. I’m barely getting booked for task with an open availability & I changed my prices and map to accommodate the slow season. A client even reach out to me asking me if I still work on the app b/c they can not find me. It’s been extremely frustrating and nerve racking with this latest update. I’ll soon be forced to look for another source of income/work. Word is the new ceo is making changes to benefit new Taskers & low prices. I heard many complaints from Uber drivers about the support they get, looks like TaskRabbit is next. 😔

REVIEW BBB. I was a tasker for almost 6 years, the first 4 of which I was considered an Elite tasker. Since the last election cycle I was never Elite. Not that Elite matters. But here’s an example of the business model. I received numerous requests for services I didn’t provide. They didn’t figure out how to route those business requests into a category for conversion of the business. In the meantime the requests can end up counting against the individual contractors. So they apparently don’t care about the bottom line, customer satisfaction, independent contractors businesses. From the BBB reviews, and over 6 years of tasking. I know how it was, how it is, and how it should be. Something is very wrong since the company was sold. The amount of reviews on BBB should really give a pretty clear idea. After 6 years, they wanted me to be re-educated on how to use their platform. Yea, No, horrendous company should move to another country.

Glitchy & Unsafe. I've gotten tons of tasks and I'm making quite a bit of money through TaskRabbit! But I do have quite a bit of complaints about this app. This app is very very glitchy. Every time I try to update my availability calendar, the app crashes. It also just crashes at random times. As far as I know, it's impossible to view clients' profiles. There should be an option to view ratings the client has received. My BIGGEST complaint by far is that I've only used this app for less than a week and I already have run into a huge safety concern. A client named Michael B. tried hiring me for a cleaning job at his house, then started being very uncomfortably flirty with me in our messages. I cancelled his task request, then a day later this same man requested my services again, hoping I wouldn't remember that interaction with him. I'm concerned that he, and probably other people like him, are using this app to try to lure young women to his house. I contacted customer support about it and they made sure he couldn't request my services anymore through his account. But this isn't enough..... this guy needs to be completely banned from TaskRabbit and not allowed to make any new accounts. I'm worried for other young women in the Kansas City area who might get a task request from him. Please be safe out there

Everytime theres an update, it removes helpful task info. Last time there was an update, they removed the visibility of reviewed cancelled tasks. After i asked for that feature back because it literally lowers the number of calls to their call center, they added the feature back so you can see how it was reviewed. Recently, they removed the time/date of the task in almost every screen. I can only see the time/date of the task in the "tasks" tab. If i tap to see "task details" its not there. If im in the chat, its not there. Yet, support told me its good practice to confirm "see you at *time* on *date*" in the chat. So now in order to make sure i reference the correct time and date, i have to go back twice, through 2 different screens. Please put the time and date in the task details again and in the header of the chat window! Stop making the app more difficult to use! Its super frustrating. Why remove helpful info and make it inconvenient for taskers?

They will steal your money.. I used this service twice. The first time was a tolerable experience. The guy scratched up my new wooden coffee table he was building as well as my wooden floors. But I was not going to bother too much with that. I had a tasker pick up and deliver a piano for me. So many issues occurred during the event. That’s not the main issue tho. We agreed on the pricing before hand. I made it clear that’s what I would pay. But then after they charged me $75 extra. I of course, happy with my new piano and not regularly checking my bank account, did not see until after their 14 day policy. I was outraged because that tasker definitely did not deserve $75 extra and we did not agree to it. It is theft. So I will never be using this service again. And you will be better off hiring someone more competent then these people. I don’t play with my money!!

Unfair to Taskers, Great For Customers. If you value your business and hard work, maybe consider using another app like Thumbtack. TaskRabbit allows customers to leave unfair and/or inaccurate reviews, and DOES NOT allow Taskers to respond. So, if someone rates you poorly and leaves a bad review, the Tasker has no way to address it and defend themselves. TaskRabbit does not allow Taskers to reply to the reviews, as other apps do. This means a customer can destroy a Tasker’s reputation, and the Tasker simply has to deal with it. TaskRabbit will not take it down, dispute it, or engage in any kind of conflict resolution. Ironically, this harms TaskRabbit too, because if clients aren’t booking TaskRabbit doesn’t get paid either. The app is severely lacking in some essential areas that would modernize the platform and prevent improper use of the app. For example, customers have found a way to scam the app, and TaskRabbit still has not rectified the issue. I won’t detail it here, but it’s a pretty effective scam and word has gotten out. For some reason TaskRabbit doesn’t seem to care. TaskRabbit was the leader in this space but is quickly falling behind other apps that are more modern and more fair to the Taskers. Slowly but surely everyone with a skill set will leave to higher pastures if a fix is not made soon.

Company is scamming. They hold your $ for months and never let you work - which is illegal. I applied, paid the $25 and was approved eventually. Couldn’t log in later due to errors bc of claimed inactivity so they had me make a new account. Paid the $25 again and they claimed the background check process was backed up... conveniently after taking your $. I had to call/email over a dozen times over *2 entire months* to get an answer. Then they said oh sorry we’re not accepting new Taskers right now. But said they were when I applied, so bc of their screw up I was “too late”. Still going back and forth with them. Keep in mind I originally tried to use this app over 6 months ago. They took my $ twice & held it up only to find some excuse why I can’t use the app. Insane. EDIT: If you guys are so concerned & take this to heart then do the right thing & allow me BACK in as I was before I was told to start over, jerked around for over 2 months then told I’m at the end of the line to wait for when they “reopen” it up to people.

Elite taskers have been removed from the algorithm. I used to get tasks almost every day. I ranked #1 in client searches sorted by percentage of positive reviews and recommended often, with glowing reviews. I haven’t received a single less than five star review this year. And yet, Taskrabbit has removed me from the algorithm almost entirely. I no longer show up in client searches, let alone at #1. Even when sorting by “percentage of positive reviews.” Tasks have decreased significantly. I haven’t received a single personal assistant task in MONTHS. All because they want to control my hourly rate. Unbelievable. We’re not employees, we’re independent contractors. As a platform connecting independent contractors and clients, act as intended and rank the independent contractors by their reviews and consistency on the platform. Trying to control your independent contractors rates sounds like a coming class action lawsuit to me

Do not join. I’m a teacher who used to work years of landscaping and thought I could make some extra cash during the summer months. I am new to Tasker and now realize that if you were not on this app years ago you will never receive work. You are not able to see available jobs in your area, you simply mark a schedule of availability. Then the clients select from an array of Taskers who they’d like to complete the job. Why would anyone give a brand new Tasker a chance, since I have zero ratings, when there are Taskers with years of rating. I’ve completed all of the tips and tricks to make me “more marketable”, even listing previous employers and works I’ve completed. Yet, I have had ZERO messages in 2 months with my availability being set from 6am - 5pm every day. Straight up SCAM for 25$. You’d have better luck putting fliers on posts over this joke of an app.

Could be much better. First off the app itself is buggy and needs work . Second off I believe people should be able to make at least 25$ before paying a 25$ fee to register as it took 2 months for me to even get a task . So 25$ down for two months and wasted energy cool. Secondly there is not any support for gaskets . Thirdly sometimes when you complete a task you will not even get paid or you’ll get paid a fraction of what payment is offered by Tasker . Finally , they allow people to scam you , take your services , then appeal the services so that you cannot be paid for it , they will say you didn’t come or didn’t do the task then they get the task done for free. There should be a system in place to prevent scamming if you are going to have people pay you in order to make a wage for themselves . Overall pretty trash app, there are many others out there offering the same idea as this app but better executed all around .

Great app for laborers and handymen. The biggest downfall of capitalism is that the labor force is under-valued. No one is ‘unskilled’ that is just a myth perpetuated by the upper class to justify keeping wages low. This app is the opposite; you pick your availability, you pick your jobs. If you can lift things, move things, paint, landscape anything, you can get paid top dollar for it using Tasker/Task Rabbit. The hirer pays the fees and as long as you can garner good reviews (or even just complete Tasks) you can only make more. And if you live near any affluent urban or suburban areas and are fully available...you WILL be busy. I’m only a handful of Tasks in but it already seems like if you become a reliable Tasker you can earn an hourly rate well beyond what any ‘unskilled’ laborer would make elsewhere. Highly recommend even if you have a job, in fact especially if you do, because the more resources you can provide yourself the more you can charge for your services.

If you are willing to work this app works.. I am pretty amazed at how many jobs I’ve received. At least one request a day since the day my profile was approved. The $25 membership fee they charge is totally worth it. Make sure to pay attention to the skills. You have to write a lil diddy about your experience, and set your rate. If those two things aren’t done for each skill then the potential clients can only see what you have set. I learned that later. But yeah, If you are down and willing to put in some labor and get your hands dirty this platform rocks! Way better than driving for Uber.

$6,000 down to $600 a month. 😬. Was a good app. Now you can’t make any money. Being in a community of elite Tasker’s we have found that we can’t find work on this app anymore. They have a dumb algorithm that seems like it came from a dating app. It’s very broken. Ikea broke what was a good app when they bought the app. They now take 35 percent of your earnings. It was 15 percent which was fine. 10-15 percent is a standard referral fee in the contracting world. They got rid of transparency for taskers, and clients hate the app now. Literally the first question clients ask me when I show up to the job now is can we get off of Taskrabbit. They hate taskrabbit. They are charging too much. Which has caused both clients and taskers to move on to other sources of work. No one can pay bills with $600 a month. Not in Austin anyway. Oh and trying to contact the useless support team is a waste of time as all they do is tell you how there is nothing they can do. The support team is trash. Copy and paste is all they can do. Oh the shameless advertising of scam health insurance and loan companies is appalling corporate behavior that is trying to take advantage of Tasker’s. Ikea is completely out of touch with what they bought. It’s like if Yelp tried to control the businesses that get reviewed on their website. It’s crazy. They don’t know what they are doing.

Better than Handy/Angi by a long shot but fix the glitches!. Not about to rave about how great TR is out of fear of creating more competition for myself 🤫 cons: Still trying to adjust to the fact that I’m not able to see what jobs are available and select them myself. Clients get to book me based off of my profile picture, which is slightly concerning, but atleast that part is working to my advantage! LoL Ive been having to turn more jobs down than Im able to accept. I’m not making as much money as I did with Handy but I’m also not being completely taken advantage of and subjected to fraudulent chargebacks and crazy penalties either so MAJOR PLUS! Only reason I’m giving it 4 out of 5 is due to the glitches- particularly when attempting to view analytics, it walks me thru a little menu and then once I hit “Got it!” it freezes on a blank analytics page that doesn’t allow for me to proceed or go back. App ceases to respond and forces me to close out and restart. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled like 3 or 4 times attempting to resolve the issue and ran the update today but the problem still persists. I’m still a fan! Best $25 I’ve ever spent.

Support Team is awful. Fees are huge. Every time I make legitimate attempts to be professional and provide documentation of things I believe could benefit me later the support team is completely unwilling to hear me and help me deal with customer troubles. This has been really difficult especially surrounding cancellation fees. It’s not worth my time to make this middle man corporation money and have no support despite me funding them. I really can’t express how poorly the support team handles things. At the end of the conversations I always feel unheard, defeated, and worst of all unappreciated. This app also charges hidden fees to your customers. I billed a customer $100 and they had to pay $156. Customers end up looking at you sideways if you mention how much your charging. I cannot see the fee’s on my end either so I can’t even warn a customer that my quoted price may not reflect what they pay. It’s just shady. I don’t recommend this app.

Payments. I have worked with TASK RABBIT for a while now. I have over 150 reviews, 143 5 star reviews. I just worked reframing and painting 15 windows and 2 doors. I put in my invoice as usual and they tell me that because of the amount it will take longer. It has been a week now. Work has been done and I have not been paid. The client is ready and willing to pay, we speak daily actually. One person told me that the card was declined, not true. Now they are saying it has been escalated to the payments team. My work wasn't escalated to the payments team, I worked that house for hours money, blood and sweat went into this work. It was not easy, for someone to tell me basically that we arent going to pay you just yet. I will NEVER accept another job from you all. The people out here working are the reason any of you get paid. I hope you guys read this. We Dont Need Task Rabbit. It needs us. I just want to be paid for the work I did. SAVE YOURSELF DONT USE THIS APP

Great app. Great app. I don’t love that it reflects poorly when you have to forfeit a task but I also understand you can’t have taskers consistently cancel. I unfortunately had to turn down a same day task .. I didn’t realize till after I had turned down the task that I could have changed the date. The client was willing. I didn’t realize the chat would be disabled once I canceled and I was unable to reach the client. I felt bad because she was so kind and really needed the job done. I do wish we could see a clients profile. With trying to keep things contactless and providing estimates with out seeing the job it puts more importance on knowing who your working with. I like to chat with the clients prior to get a feel. But it would be nice to know if they have used taskers for other job. At least if you saw they had 3 other completed jobs it would provid more confidence that your waking into a safe environment.

background check. Reading the comments here plus my bad experience with this app, make sense the review score 3.2. the background check history is sucks, I tried all possibilities to do the 5 years required but always it deniedI gave up and I wish good luck for u guys to fix fthis

Scam- bug.. Do not sign up until they fix the bug that doesn’t allow you to load the app after you pay your fee to be a Tasker.

Garbage company. Before letting me know explicitly about the background checks and verifications they made me pay 25$ that is non refundable, so they basically stole from me and I’m unable to create an account to make money.

Registration process takes months. Developer just keeps sending contact information along with messages like “Sorry for the inconvenience, please contact our support centre” But this goes nowhere

This is a SCAM!. Please stay way from this app as it is a total scam! I signed up for it a couple of months ago and paid the “background check” fee. I have not received a single task since! I called customer service and spoke to 3 different people by the name ‘Gill’. After being on hold for 43min, they told me that the reason why i have not been hired for any tasks is because of a technical issue on their part. They said they will look into it or I can deactivate my account with no refund. Very unreasonable and unhelpful “customer service”. I will be contacting my bank to report a fraud incident.

Deletes calendar events. The app will delete other events in your calendar if given permission to access it. When you schedule a task it clears everything for 2 or more weeks before and after the task.

Can’t sign in. I’ve been able to sign in once and since then, it’s said my password is incorrect. No matter how many times I reset it, it doesn’t work. Super frustrating.

Biggest Scam. It’s just a scam! I installed and paid $25, but didn’t get any task. If this app gets registration of 1000 people, and everyone pays $25, they are getting $25000/month! $300,000 per year! Best way to earn money, just make an app.

Great idea terrible company. After wanting to reef of the benefits of a being able to work as an independent contractor for smaller jobs; a friend of my recommended I download the app. I am still in the process of filling out their background check but since they use a third party company to handle it that doesn’t clarify what information they need and or are missing; I’ve had to do a back and forth run around for a month now... 0/5 stars; this is ridiculous, I’ve given all of the information needed, don’t have a criminal record and yet still my account is pending.

Can’t get a background check in several months. I was really excited to join task rabbit. It sounded very legit and has great reviews. I work full time already and this sounded like a great way to work on the side and schedule my own hours. But I’ve tried signing up many times since the beginning of 2021 and each time the background check doesn’t come through and then my account expires. I’ve tried creating a new account (re-writing all my skills descriptions all over again) and then the same thing happens. It’s very frustrating. I’ve emailed in and hoping to get a response. Ive given them a 3-star so far because I’m hoping to hear back and have this rectified yet… if something doesn’t change soon my rating will definitely decline.

App freezes and tasks not applicable. Signed up for this app as I do plumbing, electrical work and renovations, but task rabbit says most of my tasks are not in demand and I must sign up for deep cleaning. I’m not a cleaner, why would I make myself available for those types of tasks? Also their service area is quite limited to only a few major Canadian cities. App is not worth downloading

Awful Registration process, turned me off.. You guys don’t make it easy for people to become a Tasker. Airbnb, Turo and other successful companies are successful because they make it easy for people to use their platform and don’t ask for so much information on people’s life, like a crazy background check...

Money grabber. I keep hearing a lot about this app but I can’t even log in. After waiting for a very long period of time for the app to run a background check, they say it’s passed the waiting time for it and I just can’t log in or create another account with my name. So basically I just paid a fee to run an app for 10min. Very disappointed with this situation

Dissatisfied and very one-sided. It isn’t worth it. This app is easy to work with but too much client-oriented. I registered and however the rates are too low, I performed 2 jobs. The second client left a very negative, unfair and false review for me to not to pay completely, it made me not to get any job since then! I’m gonna delete this app

Garbage support.. They banned my tasker account because i was working at a client that was racist and he lied about things that didn’t happen. I completed the job 100% right but they still banned me. And it was an easy job just ikea bed assembly. Garbage app, Garbage Support! Don’t recommend anyone to waste their time using it. Get money from other apps instead.

SCAM, DO NOT DOWNLOAD!. SCAM, DO NOT DOWNLOAD! I have been on this app for months and have not had one person message me. I gave them my bank information, my SIN#, paid a $25 start up fee and also did a criminal check. I tried getting my $25 start up fee back but due to their policy, the start up fee is “non-refundable”. Very unsettling knowing they have all of my information but cannot refund $25. Seems like the perfect scam for stealing peoples identities! SCAM, DO NOT DOWNLOAD!

Tasker app stopped working-no support. The Tasker app stopped working on my iPhone after an update last Thursday. I went out of my way to report and inform the company. It was warned up front no one would get back to me. Like all gig economy app based companies, they don’t care about workers unless they’re forced to. Update-developer responds almost immediately to a bad apple review but then links me right back to the same “support”process I’ve already submitted to and was told not to expect any response. Tells me we’re their priorities are. Image over action. I’ve done my due diligence on this and reported the problem with video evidence only to be told to do it again.

Fraud. FRAUD SCAM FRAUD The worse application and customer service ever been used from apple store. Charged my account 25$ but never allowed to me to finish registration. Did not answer emails and case tickets at all. SCAM and FRAUD

Good idea, poor execution. Really over the app crashing when I’m trying to make my schedule. The app itself is a good idea and with the features like background checks and reviews it helps both the client and Tasker feel safer about who they’re working with. Seriously needs an update though. I tried to make my schedule this morning and it crashed 6+ times…

Background check. The worst app ever . Wastes time . I regret for downloaded . I try to register by my gmail account for background check but it said that the password or email is incorrect . Great app and serious company service!. I have been working with TaskRabbit for over 3 years and there is nothing like around. Serious business and reliable company, I am pretty happy with them. I am an Elite Tasker helping a lot of customer around.

Problem. This apps don’t work in Vancouver Canada?

App problem during registration. I’m trying to registered for Tasker. But every time it got stuck in background check and every time I contact support through chat I get different answer for the problem. None of the support person able to solve the problem but they given new solution every-time which never worked.

Unable to login. I tried to login several time, I Couldn’t

Unable to make an account. The app does not allow me to make an account. Every time I try to sign in it says “Server Error 429”. Customer support has been unhelpful.

Bad customer service/tech support. I’ve been waiting over 2 months for my registration to complete. I’ve emailed, called and have had live chat correspondences multiple times. Each time I’m shuffled off to the next person. No one is really listening. It does not take over two months for registration to complete because of high volume. That is simply an excuse to get rid of a customer you don’t want to deal with.

Slow. Background check is super slow.

IKEA. IKEA has not delivered multiple jobs for me and I have lost out on over $500 at the last minute. I’m not happy with this service and there is no compensation for my time that I have lost for this happening. Edit and the support team is terrible to deal with and do nothing to help you. I have sent them all the required information and still got no time compensated for these jobs. Even though one of them was cancelled less than an hour before the job start time. This is a terrible service and I recommend you never use it. Now after complaining to the company and making this review I have now not been getting any tasks, this is honestly terrible.

Longest process. Every link and problem lead to another. Not reliable and easy

Registration. I have been trying to register as a Tasker . I put in my CC info and it keeps coming back saying that it encountered a problem and to try back in a few seconds . Well I have been trying back for over a month and keeps giving me the same message . I doesn’t charge me but won’t let me go any farther. Dana from customer support has been great trying to help me but still no resolution . Very frustrating. After reading reviews here I wonder what other bugs are waiting for me if this payment issue gets resolved. 😂

App not working properly. I tried to sign up both app but neither is working properly even though I put the right email address and password. It was so frustrating after trying it multiple times to sign up for the app.

Don’t even try to Register. FRUSTRATING. I have submitted tons of documents. When I was trying to submit my DL and Passport ID to the Checkr, it just couldn’t accept the files I was trying to load. I have tried 5 different formats! My criminal background is crystal clear like a baby tears, but after this experience I had strong intentions to murder someone…) After trying for 30 mins, changing resolution and formats of my files, I gave up and make account with other company. If you don’t have master degree in computer science or photoshop experience, don’t even try!!

3 years tasker. I’ve been on task rabbit for many years now. The plat form itself is good easy and smooth. You do a job and receive payment a few days later. My low star rating has to do with the customers, people on this app are impossible to please. You set your price and rules; folks hire you thinking you’ll break pricing for them. I charge flat rates for task I’ve been to schooling for. Many of us do and we emphasize this. Customers read pass these things, hire you, expect you to charge low (cause they think this is cheaper) , and when you don’t comply by their bidding they mess up your reviews. Which is how you mainly get customers. I’ve had to recreate my account a few time because people on here are difficult to please.

They charge you money to sign up. There is no indication they you have to pay any money until you have already given private information like your SSN and address. Watch out. $25 fee to start, so if you can’t pay (we’re on this app because we need money) then don’t even start the sign up process. It’s disgusting. If I had known that was part of it I would not have shared that info with the company to begin with. Tasker, give users a warning before the end of the sign up process. Edit: I saw the response and stand by my statement. Let the users know there will be an expense before you demand social security numbers, phone numbers, addresses, etc.

2 hour minimum?. They have you select the 2 hour minimum button for the clients to see. What does 2 hour minimum mean? It means. If you finish the job before 2 hours is complete you still get 2 hours of pay. They make it so that clients can say they didn't see it and can dispute with the reason of “overcharging” it makes us the taskers not only have to select 2 hour minimum, but also have to tell the clients in the chat which is a bit redundant. Please fix this taskrabbit so that the client has to select that they are okay with the 2 hour minimum charge if the task takes leas than 2 hours to complete. It will save on headaches and unnecessary messages about “circumventing the system and fraudulent payments” other than that the app is a great life changer

Will cut your mother’s throat if left alone.. It is amazing the lack of help I got as a new Tasker. After trying to complete the job I was hired to do I was met with the client not responding in either a message or a call. I showed up to the spot took my time gas and energy going to the place that I was hired to do and when I got there they said that they had no order with the name of the client I had been given and had no idea how to direct me. Then, when I called to try and contact the client they said that I had the wrong number and didn’t know what I was talking about. Even after all this I still was given a hit to my metrics as they told me it was my fault that I went to the job without first confirming with them via the chat. They barely contacted me, they don’t answer your questions and they treat the Tasker as if they did something wrong no matter if the client is responsible or not... Just beware that if you run into trouble no one is coming to you back you up as they only care about their bottom line and promoting their services from a far without any contact from their workforce. Total disgrace.

Never got a task. I downloaded taskrabbit months ago and have yet to get a task. I use a truck and many of my tasks revolved around helping people move or needed extra room for some heavy lifting. It’s been months since I downloaded taskrabbit and I went through everything. All my tasks were set, my rates were set and my availability, and yet to this day, never got a task. On top of that, I paid $25 for them to do a background check on me and I thought I would make enough money to compensate for the money I spent, but I never recipients a dime. Don’t do this if you don’t have your name out there yet. It’s rare to get a task and the background check is non-refundable. Waste of money.

Best app. I was looking for job based on my experience and I work with so many websites and app and one of them was Task Rabbit. Only one week was enough for me to find out how different ina best way is this TaskRabbit and I start make lots of money from this app. Very easy to work with this app super easy to connecting with support team for any kind of help, and also I use as a client for other job and also super easy to hire and work with this app. I’m super excited to be a part of TaskRabbit and work with them.

WARNING ⚠️ SCAM DETECTED. let me warn you these people ask you for all of your personal information, including SOCIAL SECURITY number, photo of you, address, etc. THEN AFTER ALL THAT they THEN tell you that you must pay a $25 fee to work with them. This sounds like a major scam!❗️ idc, but they have no right making a worker PAY THEM. And if they must, they should have mentioned that BEFORE having us give them such CRUCIAL INFORMATION. also the links to the documents you must agree to are broken links. DEFINITELY RED FLAGGING THIS AS A SCAM! UPDATE: I see your reply mentions what the fee supposedly goes to. My question is why do you wait until we enter all of our personal information to tell us about this fee?

Just another person they took $25 from. I’ve been trying to get my identity verified and start using the app and booking tasks for weeks now. I tried to verify my information given the link provided, but I get an error message every time. Under the error message, it tells you to send an email to an address that doesn’t actually exist— my email just bounced back. So, I tried live chat, explained my issue and provided screenshots, but they said they would “escalate my issue to the registration team.” I was told someone would reach out to me in 1-2 business days. It’s been over a week and I haven’t gotten one response. Don’t fall for it.

No rights for Taskers. App crashes.. I have been a Tasker for three years. It is great to be able to meet people that can hire you for different jobs. That being said here are the cons… - Tips are capped. Some clients want to tip more but they can’t because the app doesn’t allow for custom tip amounts. - The app itself freezes and crashes all the time. If you try to send a picture over the app most times it won’t work. - As a Tasker, you have very little recourse if you have a bad client. If you get treated poorly by a client, it’s the Taskers fault. I’ve done jobs that I just canceled in the app because the client had unreasonable expectations, usually very rich people. Better cancel the job than get a bad review. - Customer service is bad and very slow. I’ve been on hold for hours and get very little aside from a half hearted apology. Overall it’s just a very corporate app. Doesn’t matter how long you have been working for them, you are disposable.

No support for sign up. The background check took several days. Then I got a message that they were “unable to complete the background report with the information provided. I will have an email with further instructions. I never got one. I reached out for support and got a generic we’ll look into it. It’s been 10 days of looking into it, so I doing a review instead. I HAVE A CLEAN BACKGROUND. I can also confirm two other gig sites I passed a background for (same time frame) and I started a new job passing a background check a few weeks prior to signing up as a tasker. Now, I’ve lost about 4-5 weeks of potential summer work in Chicago

Great App! Only wish there was Dark Mode. Tasker app is amazing! Well developed and everything is organized. I’ve had no problem signing up and even started my first task within 2 days. Great side hustle and earn some extra cash! Can even meet some cool people. As a developer myself I appreciate the layout of the app, just wish there was a dark mode since I’m on it a lot, it’ll be a little easier on the eyes 🙏🏽

Favorite Taskers. A recent addition of having clients be able to select favorite Taskers and reuse them has really increased my repeat business. I like the put furniture together best and I’ve now got 2 clients with rental properties who’ve needed me several times and it’s been great to know where I’m going and who I’m helping :) I’m a petsitter most of the time, but TaskRabbit is a great way to fill gap weeks when no one is traveling with paying work at my convenience

Just meh…. I try and get in and out of every job as quickly as possible. And sometimes the job only takes one hour. The customer is super happy wants to leave a nice tip for me. There is no space to put a custom amount of tip. All there is is 15%,20,25 etc.. so if the customer is really happy and I only took one hour they max they can give me is $5? What kind of geniuses do you have making this app for you? I would like more than 25% of $15 and most of time so do my customers. Every single customer service person I have spoken to seems extremely uninformed, in a bad way. No one can give me straight answer and even been ended on chat before anything was resolved.. Get your stuff together Tasker or I am going somewhere else..

Review. This app does not protect the tasker. I've always had good reviews, but once I got a crazy client and she wrote a lie in the review. I asked the support service to delete this review because it's not true, but they didn't do it. I asked to read my correspondence with the client, everything was clear in this chat, but they were on the side of the crazy client. It turns out that any client can write a lie and he has nothing for it. Up to this unpleasant moment, I really liked this app. For me, this is the only, but very big minus.

Fraud. I signed up to work for Task Rabbit and in order to accept jobs, I was told I would need a background check that costs $25. I paid the $25 and never heard back. They said their "third party company could not complete my background check". I have been sending them emails ever since and finally today, they sent the one saying they do not refund registration fees. The fee was for a background check, which they could not complete. Do NOT let them scam you too. ***Response to reply: I am aware that they are for the safety of all parties involved. I did not FAIL the background check! You said it could not be completed and gave no explanation. I just passed one just fine for another job, so that's on you guys. You should refund customers when you cannot fulfill the service they paid for.

Honestly Worth It. This is hands down one of the best ways to make money. I’ve been with TaskRabbit for just a little over 4 months and I couldn’t be more pleased. I’m waiting until it becomes very popular or more popular in my area. You choose your hours and pay. Being an entrepreneur, I HATE working for someone, have always liked the idea of working for myself. This app is a moving step for sure, you can make really good money if you are good at what you do and have good customer service. 100% recommend for anyone.

Racist Company, They hate Black men!. Racist Company! They plot on you, from customer service to policy makers, tasker over 300 tasks, they have people book you for one task, then have them use you to do everything thing else without paying! They deactivated me over lies, their support is not actually support, they set you up to fail, bring something to their attention ? You will get blamed for it. Clients lie on you to get out of paying for their jobs all the time and Taskrabbit will side with them. Do no investigation or listen to what you have to say. They don’t like blacks here! Algorithms are made to suppress you in certain areas, management is very toxic. Since they changed president, the company has tanked and become very toxic!

Doesn’t work and wasted $25. I tried to set up my account and had to pay the $25. I kept getting error messages when trying to set up my map so people know where I can build IKEA furniture. It said that I didn’t have access. Then I tried checking my tasks to see if anyone had tried messaging me, and it said again that I’m not allowed to view the page or have access. I called the IT for the place and I was on the phone with a person for 35 minutes which got me nowhere. I looked online for help the the Tasker page says that if you have problems then try troubleshooting your phone. I think it’s the app that needs troubleshooting. Is there anyway I can get my money back???

Technical issue. Technical issue while setting up my account. While at the point where I’ve submitted all of my information and have a period of waiting the app says “Finish setting up your business while your background checks are processing” the button that says “check out your dashboard” doesn’t direct me away from the page. As many times as I press it or close out the app, it just keeps bringing me back to the same page so I can’t do anything or explore the app while I wait. iPhone 13 pro max IOS 15.3.1

Disappointing. I had a few tasks in the beginning. Now I haven’t had any requests in over two months and I don’t know why. I had one three stat review because the client wasn’t happy with the cleaning. She moved out of her apartment, it was supposed to be vacant. At the last minute she sent me a message “sorry I couldn’t get everything out of the apartment. “ When I arrived it was full of junk everywhere including a kitchen piled high with dirty dishes. The bathroom fixtures were very old and could not be cleaned well. No matter how hard I tried I could not get those old refurbished surfaces clean. Once you let a place get that dirty it’s never going to be looking brand new again. Most likely the apartment development would be remodeling that unit before a new tenant could move in. It was just too old and run down.

This “company” will steal your money and your personal information!. Beware EVERYONE! This “company” will ask your for a registration fee and your personal information with no intention of ever giving you access to jobs. I signed up 2+ months ago and still waiting to hear from them. I have made multiple inquiries about the status of my background check. Their response is, “I will have to escalate this for further help”. No one ever gets back to you! At this point, they are probably not responsible enough to keep my information safe. All I want is a refund and my information deleted from their database.

Not fair. I had three complaints because the customer doesn’t want to pay the invoice. The last time was for a tv mounting task. I charged them with 50$ the mounting was not a new one, so they don’t have the screws correctly, the just bought like 20 washers and I even used them. Task rabbit emailed me about it and I said “I had to put my hardware” they ask for a receipt but I have a box with a lot of hardware and I don’t have the receipt. They close my user of course even when I never failed an appointment and my metrics and reviews were really good. But you know... customers are always right when they’re not... and they complained but the had to pay the 50$ either way so...

Task Rabbit is a GAME CHANGER. I love every aspect of BEING my own BOSS on the Task Rabbit Platform. It inspires me to go harder every day knowing that I'm helping out my neighbors, friends, and clients. Im also making them happy while doing so. I show up to get the job done, knock out the task with a smile and thank my clients for booking me. Without Task Rabbit I wouldn’t have the great Clientele and partners that i have now. And WITHOUT my GREAT CLIENTELE I wouldn’t be gaining all this knowledge, skills and the experiences. I am grateful. Thank you Task Rabbit.

Enjoying working for taskrabbit!. I have been doing tasks on and off for about a year and really enjoy it. It’s a great way for making some extra money when needed! Everyone that I have done a task for have been awesome and very friendly! I have always felt comfortable with the jobs I’m doing. The platform for communication is pretty good and easy to use. The only thing I would like to see would be a way to see your clients details and profile if possible. All in all great app!

Great Idea Terrible App. I love this app and have made a career out of it, but the app has a bug or something going on with it every other second. Support tells your to delete the app and reinstall but that's super annoying to have to do. Especially when the app bugs out every other day. Chat system they have in place is terrible. It sends the client an EMAIL of the message unless they have the app downloaded. The phone is also just as bad and people constantly think it's a telemarketer and not the worker calling. Other than that this app is really great and it's very obvious this app values their workers.

App won’t allow me to complete signup. I have no idea if this is a good app/service or not. It will not allow me to complete the signup as I cannot get past adding skills. I added about 5 skills, but apparently they are not popular in my area (really, no one needs a pet sitter, personal assistant, organizing, admin or shopper?) ok, that’s fine. It keeps sending me back to add more skills so I can get hired faster. I don’t care about being hired faster and I’m not going to add skills I cannot or do not want, to do. I’m willing to wait until someone in my area needs my expertise but they’ll never know I’m here and ready to help them if I cannot complete registration. Developer should fix this. Why not just have a pop up letting me know it’s unlikely I’ll get hired soon with these skills but let me complete it anyway? Thanks.

Can not login. I only gave 1 star is because I can’t make it past login. I signed up to be a Tasker and I’m not able to login. When I go to sign up with the same email I used before it says that it’s already exists which I know cause I use it to reset my password and the new password I created still wouldn’t let me login. So I tried a third time with a whole new password. Same thing. It’s says incorrect email or password and incorrect email or password. Why you would have that twice in an error message when it should just say incorrect email or password. Man I knew something wasn’t right when I said I have to register 25$ to look for work. Edit: Forgot to post so I contacted support through email They scamming for 25$ yall they said I logged in too many times in other words I used the same password but I didn’t. That’s creative but dishonest to honest living people who really live off their own talent. I’m taking my star back too. Edit:: Can’t leave a star so I’m force to leave a star that not deserve. The disrespect to morals and values.

App Not Responding. I love Task Rabbit and have been using it for a while now, but recently, the app is having lots of issues. Blank screen and no way to access nothing, not even support. Going directly to the web page does not help either as the only thing that shows is a 403 forbidden screen. There has been no reports that I know of that let’s us know what is going on? Like I mentioned before, can not even access the online help page as it also shows blank! Help!

My only issue - Clearing the Availability is impossible. I love the app however a big challenge I am having is that I cannot clear the availability when I mistakenly hit the screen and it pops an hour or so onto the calendar. I have followed the instructions to clear it but there is no clear availability button like described on the website or under the FAQ. I don’t know how to do it and it’s causing issues with people who say that spot is open and try to book me and then I have to forfeit because I’m not actually available. Any help on figuring this out on the iPhone 11 latest iOS whatever it is

Needs a lot improvements and some humanity. Full of lags and needs professional IT help. Interface is horrible and not user friendly at all. Also charges customers 40% service fee as Trust and Support Fee and customers go mad after each task and immediately they text you to figure out why they were charged 40 percent extra if you do not initially explain them what they should expect. I had a very bad experience with a psycho customer who complained about how I did not do the job properly and he gave me a 1-star. Even tho I had proof of the job, they did not care about it. Terrible system.

What the actual ****. I am in my second year of tasking. Since the updates it’s been much slower. But the real issue is the app. The iOS version crashes constantly. I cannot even update my availability. I have missed several tasks because of this. Which has now impacted my good reputation on the platform. When I contacted support. They told me that. They didn’t receive any other reports of similar issues. So I would have to take the hit to my metrics. I feel as if I am being punished for the lack of support the developers of this app put into it. It’s the most backwards and down right wrong way to treat people. Especially people who make you a ton of money. Get your act together. I will be escalating this issue via phone call today. Not like I could contact support through the app. The app is trash.

Untrustworthy. I started my business on task rabbit hoping they are right platform to work with but it went horrible. When I just opened my account I couldn’t get any jobs except earning $15 for 3 hours of working But I decided to do it and keep working to build my business and once I got enough reviews to get more expensive jobs support team decided to block my account just because of the misunderstanding and even after showing proofs of my rightness they couldn’t do anything and were keep telling me we can’t help Don’t start business on task rabbit you can loose everything that u worked on quick and easy

Small bugs. The app is pretty good. Small issues are a little annoying like freezing in some of the menus or pages. The Earnings page for instance, when you select a month prior to the current one, it freezes (iPhone). Also the notification bubble counter on the app icon takes a while to clear even after you’ve checked the app for the notification it pinged for. You have to fully close the app out, or even sometimes go in the chat several times before it shows read and the notification bubble disappears. Again, small stuff.

Have yet to even work. I have yet to even begin working.I submitted my initial application and $25 initiation fee to start up and they seem to have fumbled my background check and I have confirmed all the information with them but every time I try to figure out the update, they don’t seem to have an answer for me or it is taking unusually longer than a typical process should. I’m sure the developers are reading this if someone could reach out to me and help me out either give me a refund for not even being able to start or help me move forward so I can start. Beware if you were looking for side cash too; the process will be unnecessarily lengthy.

Illegal activities. I thought this company could help my struggling small construction business that has been unable to compete with these large corporations that have moved into my market and have boxed me out with $10 plus keywords searches. I was wrong I have 9 5 star reviews out of the 10 jobs I did(one didn’t leave a review). I not accepted 3x that in jobs because the tasks were illegal for me to do as I don’t have a roofing, electrical and plumbing license which is required where I live. I have been penalized by being put lower on the search list because I won’t break the law while others will. This is a very shady business practice and I assume illegal.

Not Trans Inclusive. I started to apply to be a tasker, but it turns out that you’re required to use your legal first and last name. I understand that this is for security purposes so that clients may know you’re verified, but there should be an option for a permanent preferred name. Many transgender people don’t have legal documents reflecting their chosen name, because gender-related legal name/identity changes can be difficult or even impossible to obtain in many states. I am trans, and I’m not interested in having my given name publicly visible and associated with my face. The current setup may be fine for trans people with legal name changes, but that is far from the majority.

Life Changer!. I have been able to cross over 100k in income with the help of this platform. I run my business in Houston, Tx and been using this platform to help me reach more cliens that my marketing doesn't get to. They mastered marketing for sure. It has been a life changer, Over $11,000 combined with my own effort and this platform back to back for the past 8 month since the pandemic. Yes i have a different work ethic than a lot of independent contractor but grateful for Leah Busque, smart woman, the founder of taskrabbit. Thank you.

Review of the app, not of the service/co. I’ve been a Tasker for years, so this review is not of the company, but of the app itself. A new feature was launched that allows us to connect our calendar with the app just the other day, but every time I click on “Got it” for the update the app crashes and causes those crashes every time I open it again after that. For several days now, I’ve had to uninstall and reinstall the app as a bypass, and there’s no way to avoid the notification. This is Mother’s Day week and I’ve grown my clientele to those who are quarantining at home and I do their shopping/errands for them, so needless to say this is quite the inconvenience. It’s a fantastic app in other ways, so I hope they either remove this “feature” until it’s fixed or just... fix it.

Not Tasker Friendly. I got a cheated out of 90 minutes of work because the customer canceled while I was creating the invoice. The app said I couldn’t get paid a cancellation fee because I never “completely” accept the order; even though in order to take the job you have to hit a button that says “accept” I’m order to get the task put on your schedule. But it’s okay I just undid all the work I did before I left the work site. It was like nothing ever happened :)

Shoddy app developers. This app seems to use the same algorithm as another gig app I used for several years that began its descent into ineptitude after a year. The same glitchy things are happening, and the same response is given: “try uninstalling then reinstalling the app”, “please provide screenshots of the issue to give a better picture for IT to fix the issue”, “try using the desktop version instead” then after every troubleshoot nothing happens, and every update afterwards brings yet another bug that makes this app harder and harder to efficiently work. This is downright ridiculous. This is an app that people rely on to use efficiently for their employment. Make it work right, fix the issues instead of just adding onto them after every update.

Trash. Don’t use tasker! I had a client book me with my requirements set as 2 hour minimum. The client however sees that I require it and decides to book me anyways knowing he/she is broke and can’t afford my prices. After the job is done flawlessly and I created my invoice to end the job, the client gives me a 1 star review. Me thinking this issue should be resolved easily by contacting TaskRabbit and telling them I was 1 stared due to my price which was known before hand was the worst assumption of my life. Not only did TaskRabbit say my review wasn’t eligible for removal, they then came off very rude stating “this decision is final” when I asked for an explanation on how it’s not eligible. THE ABSOLUTE WORST !

Love being a tasker. Been tasking for over 2 years! Love the flexibility, the ability to draw my work area out, and charge what I believe I’m worth for the categories I do. Every task is different, and I keep busy. I was having the same problem someone mentioned about the app crashing when trying to open but I contacted Task Rabbit through my account on the website and they promptly sent me a link to download the app and I’m back up and running. Thank you Task Rabbit!

Only had it for 5 minutes. Very frustrating! This app basically chooses the tasks that YOU can sign up for. For example, I was interested in ONLY tasks that include data entry, office help or personal assistant. However when I put in my location during the set up, they ONLY “acceptable skills” for my area were all manual labor which I did not have an interest in doing. And it would not let me go to the next steps until I selected one of these manual labor jobs that I had no interest in doing. I picked cleaning just to see if maybe I can change it later on. So I get to the next page, and it REQUIRES a photo of you in order to move on? That’s when I knew this app wasn’t worth the annoyance. I’d rather check other places. Quickly deleted my account.

Horrible customer service. I have been stuck on “verify your identity” for MONTHS now! Therefore I can’t get work. For months! It says wait 1-7 business days for an email from our team. That never ever happened, so I emailed myself. All they do is send a pre-made email with a link to re-upload and it also says “reply here with confirmation once you are done.” I’ve done that twice now unsuccessfully. Why should i reply here if they don’t even read it? Because i reply saying i still have an issue. Then they just send the same email again!! Maybe they should hire a tasker to be their customer service rep. Absolutely horrible service. The amount of times I’ve emailed them with no response is insane.

Life-Changing. I’ve been using TaskRabbit for just under a year. TaskRabbit has allowed me to dramatically expand my handyman business. Since I’ve started the app, I’ve nearly doubled my monthly earnings. There’s a fantastic community of Taskers in the Bay Area, the support team is AMAZING, and the clients are friendly and respectful. No more hunting for Craigslist gigs, no more bounced checks and tracking down payments, no more hunting for leads! Every interaction with TaskRabbit support has been extremely positive, their team is committed to a good experience for Taskers and Requesters. They truly respect Taskers as independent contractors while supporting our businesses. Really thankful for TaskRabbit and its mission!

Clunky app. App is so clunky and slow. The face of the previous customer is on the avatar of the new customer which makes it incredibly confusing. Why does it take so long to get your money? Every other gig app has instant cash out features which allows you to get your funds within minutes. Once the customer has paid out, taskers shouldn’t have to wait several days to get paid. Also, it would be nice to let the funds build up and cash out as we please rather than have 20+ transactions happen to the bank. Please fix this. It’s annoying and archaic.

This company or idea is terrible. After reading some reviews it seems like most people just are dumb. This is a waste of 25 dollars.... The handy platform blows task rabbit out of the water and what handy takes is way less than task rabbit. Also i dont like the fact that people request you so you could be waiting forever .... I dont like the fact that if i dont want to accept a job i have to explain to the customer why i don’t wanna do the job... that information is irrelevant!! I dont think I’ll be using this that much as it is just a complete waste of time !!! I wish i COULD GET MY 25 dollars back!!!! I definitely learned my lesson

DO NOT DOWNLOAD THIS APP. I was excited and optimistic to use this app to make a few extra dollars on the side of my main job for the summer. Two to three weeks weeks and a few phone calls after setting up my account for verification (a process which should last two to three days) I get an email saying my identity could not be confirmed. This is after I sent all of my person information including social security, pictures of my ID, and general personal information… along with a 25$ sign up fee cost that I am not able to get refunded. I’m general, stay away from this app and resort to asking neighbors and family friends if the need help for a few bucks. From personal experience this is an easier and cost beneficial way of making money.

The greatest of its kind despite it’s flaws. Well recent updates have been a little bit glitchy and buggy; this app started out as light years better than any other platforms mobile app in the gig economy-and with more patient behaviors any user can overcome the issues that the app has. Properly used this platform and their corresponding brilliant mobile app-can give the user in a thriving market place life changing level of control and enviable extra income.

Stay away not worth your time OR MONEY. Looking for a new way to earn some new cash well don’t look here because it’s one dead end after another with task rabbit. This app is new underdeveloped, and very buggy. They charge all new “taskers” a sign up fee and then the signup process is super buggy and doesn’t work half the time. You’d think if they were charging you 25$ they’d have they’re act together but no it’s super underdeveloped and wow they were able to change their logo design cool maybe fix your app next the logo wasn’t the problem. I recommend next door it’s free and I’ve have had a lot more success there and NO ONE USES TASK RABBIT EVERYONES ON NEXTDOOR you don’t need they’re stupid layout thing just say what you can do like this on next door and people will hire you.
