PlayMetrics Comments & Reviews 2026
Really Like PlayMetrics. Our club recently transitioned to PlayMetrics. I really like that I can see both my kid’s schedule in a single interface. Communication from the club has been much better through this app as well.
Not user friendly. This app could really use an update. First and foremost, you’ve got to allow users to mark players present or absent up to the time of an event, not shut down 30 minutes prior. That is nonsense. Also, it sends plenty of notifications but its hard to get to messages. Not a fan at all whatsoever.
Terrible. I have used several of these team apps and this one is the worst. My understanding is the app is good for clubs and their “back offices” but for parents who PAY for their kids to play get this crappy app. The flow is terrible, updating live games is literally a joke to the point that our team stopped using it and now we just text each other the score/time left in the match. Our coach won’t use it at all when contacting players and parents either. I guess the only point to this app is to keep the club back office happy. SMH.
Horrible app. The app freezes up, can’t open the messages in message center, once you open map link for fields you have no way to go back into app without closing it and then reopening and start over!!! Team Snap much better, so much more user friendly in all aspects!!! As others have said forced to use but only have 2 seasons left so good luck and hope whoever designed reaches out to the Team Snap developers to come help them!
Easy and Helpful. I am enjoying having an app to access all the information pertaining to my son’s soccer program this year! It is very easy to use and provides quick updates on practices.
Could do better. The app only opens half the time. Message “having trouble establishing a connection.” Not convenient when your traveling and need game details. Other parents have the same issue
Worst app- CONSISTENTLY UNRELIABLE!!. It’s a gamble if it opens- constantly says I have 23 messages- I don’t! Will try over and over to open- and when it’s your ONLY form of contact or information for your team-practice-games-changes-weather-covid protocol- contact with coach- team- administration- literally CENTER OF EVERYTHING- and it fails to open- for whatever reason?!? And best you can be told is reinstall- been there done that- still 23 phantom messages if it opens- 80% of the time-white screen - swipe out-Close completely out- go back try again and again and again- 5-6 times-then I give up and wait till later hoping! Oh and the FONT SIZE- IS RIDICULOUSLY SMALL WITHOUT ANY WAY TO ENLARGE! So if you can open it and get your messages- you struggle to read it on your phone!
Needs some more work…. I manage a club soccer team that recently switched from Team Snap. There are a few things that I like about this app including the fact that payments can be made here, forms submitted and the calendar/RSVP is easy to use. That said, there are a bunch of things missing from PlayMetrics that Team Snap had that I really miss here. 1. The ability to do polls and informal tracking. I’m now back to using texts/emails and spreadsheets to track replies to things like snack etc. 2. The ability to live track games. This was great for parents or players who had to miss a game. They would know, in real-time what was going on. 3. The ability to track records (wins/losses). Our players are too young to track formally, but it would be great to track informally again like we did in Team Snap. 4. One really annoying bug: when I click on a pushed notification to read the contents it crashes the app every single time and I need to log back in. It’s really annoying. Many others on our team have also complained. I see this had been logged by others for quite some time. It would be great to know if you planned on fixing this. As others have stated, we also have no choice but to use this app so we are kind of a captive audience for now. I think it *could* be really great though, if some of the suggestions, put forth in the feedback, were implemented. Happy to chat further about anything I’ve written.
Frustrating. This app is very poorly designed. It is difficult to navigate and hard to find important information. Example we have training starting next week but cannot be seen on the calendar until after the sessions begin (in fact you can’t even navigate to the calendar until the session has started). If you try to search for it in the registrations it brings up last year not the one that starts in a week. My child is in 2 leagues which you have to change back and forth at the top. It would be nice to see everything on one calendar (including multiple players) rather than having to get out and back in all the time. Menus are all over the place. There is almost nothing that can be done from the home page. This app needs to be completely rebuilt with the parents in mind.
Lifesaver for my club. PlayMetrics has been a huge asset for my club especially during COVID. I can easily communicate with my club members and staff, plus the calendars update as soon as I make changes to events or fields. Can’t imagine not using this. As a director, my job is stressful enough as is but PlayMetrics has made it easier. Used to use about 7 different tools to help run my club and now we solely use PlayMetrics
Not a good app experience.. Messages and chat are basically separate apps inside the app. Most of it appears to be webviews loading in an app shell. The user experience and navigation is all weird, so don’t expect a native app that’s easy to use. Team Snap had a few problems as well, but this unfortunately is much worse. It’s apparent they’re trying to add requested features without any thought to how it affects the overall experience. The whole mobile app needs a redesign.
My experience with this app. Everything ran smoothly, the app worked well, no bugs or issues. Everything was where it should be!
Just okay. This app needs a way to decline club advertising and events that you are not interested in, not attending, or irrelevant. They end up clogging your Apple or Google calendar that you cannot remove that triggering notifications for events you are not interested in. Please give us a way to decline these types of notifications and iOS and Android/Google calendar events.
Freezes up. At least once a week I have to remove and download the app again due to it freezing on my phone. It’s quite frustrating as a parent and manager.
Absolutely the Best Sports Management App. I have 3 kids, all play sports, I have tried out my fair share of sports management apps. I can say with confidence that PlayMetrics is hands down the best. I love that I can simply click the game location from the app, and after selecting my preferred driving directions app, get instant directions. On my iPhone, I was able to choose from Google Maps, Waze, or Apple Maps, which is super convenient. I also love that PlayMetrics offers me the option to sync my daughter’s soccer game and practice schedules with my Google Calendar. In just a few clicks, all the dates and times are there, making it super easy to stay organized. This sports management app has been a game changer in helping my family stay on top of our sports schedule. To whomever created this app, THANK YOU!
Terrible Messaging, Good for Practices/Events. This app is great for tracking games and practices. However, it falls FAR short on the chat/messaging side. There are so many bugs and the experience is terrible. It wouldn’t be a huge issue but our club relies on the messaging feature for communications which causes lots of problems.
Horrible. This app is horrible. The only reason I have it is because my child’s soccer team is using it. Messages will only go out to part of the team and not the whole team. It is very difficult to move around within the app. I’ve used Teamsnap for years and it is 10 times better than this app, there’s no way to know who’s going to any given practice or game. It’s also impossible once you’re trying to look at the roster and click on a person to get back in to the app without totally deleting the app and reinstalling it on your phone, the app also freezes, I really do not like it.
Terrible lack of functionality. Echoing many previous reviews, this app is TERRIBLE from a parent perspective. The communication features are poorly designed and confusing. Worst of all is the design to track attendance. PLEASE fix this so we can mark attendance day of. Kids get sick and there is no way to tell the team on the day of practice or game that my player is injured or can’t make it. Yet, worse of all, I get automated reminder messages to “mark attendance” day of, when the app won’t let me do so any more. I am so annoyed that our soccer club switched to this system, it’s making me want to pull my kid and switch to the other soccer club across town!
Multiple Clubs is a horror show / NO TECH SUPPORT!!. Started using this app for a single club (soccer). Worked great. So I was pleased to hear that our Volleyball club was switching to PlayMetrics. But when the Villeyball Club sent out the signup link, the app would not allow me to register. FAQ section was completely worthless and there is no support line anywhere to be found … submitted a request on their chat feature and still have not received a response ~14 hours later. Am currently attending an out of town tournament and all communications are being channeled through this app - so missing everything. VERY poor experience.
Overall decent. I’ve used GameChanger in the past and Playmetrics is new to me. Overall it’s ok but it is fairly slow at times. Also, when I get a new message notification, I can tap on it and it takes me to the message. But as soon as I close the message, the app crashes (every single time). Using iPhone 12 Pro. Overall it had the info I need but could use some enhancements to make it great.
Horrible app when you have two or more players.. My twins are playing in two different teams and app is constantly messing up one of my kids’s team. It often doesn’t appear in “my teams” section and many times you need to restart phone multiple times so this dysfunctional app will work properly.
Latest Update Issues. The latest version of the app seems to have issues because it keeps on logging me out other than that it seems to be decent
Would not change a thing!. PlayMetrics is the best it sends you reminders and it can help you clarify with your team if some people don’t have iMessage. GET IT NOW!
Really good. I really like that my schedule is updated as soon as the club makes a change. Also both my kids in one calendar is great.
No Apple Map support. Forces users to install Google maps or Waze. With multiple teams, the calendar is hard to find what you need because each event takes up the entire screen. Controls tend to be counterintuitive like finding the team roster.
Confusing and Unimpressive. Unimpressive on it’s best day. The message and chat section is basically non functional. The lack of organization and navigation in this area is confusing and not at all user friendly. The defaults are poor and the design is glitchy. Looking at alternatives going forward.
Very easy to use and helpful. This is a great app compared to other team apps I’ve used. It is easy to access any information I need communicate with effectively.
NOT user friendly. Have had constant problems with this app since my son’s team started using it because it allowed payment options in the app. TeamSnap is much more intuitive and easy to use. Just today, PlayMetrics has sent me 5 notices that my son’s game is canceled (it isn’t) and no one seems to know why this is happening or how to stop it. The interface is convoluted, especially if you have more than one team or child in the system and requires lots of navigation to find the screen you are looking for. The live game updates are less than intuitive, slow to update and hard to find. This app needs a lot of work to get rid of issues and make it user friendly.
Team manager review.. We recently switched from TeamSnap and it has taken a bit for the whole team to get used to it. As a team manager it is a very easy to input/change things as needed. A couple of things that other parents have mentioned that could improve the experience: 1) Is there a way to like a post in the chat? In TeamSnap you could like it and it let the coach/TM know that the information was seen by everyone on the team. This has been the biggest complaint I have heard from parents in our club across the board. 2) When posting in a chat, I will post and then have to close out the app and re-open in order to see if it posted. Is there anyway to see it immediately after you post it without opening/closing the app? Thanks…I think these changes could definitely enhance the use of the app.
9 technologies in 1. We used to use 9 different softwares to piece together what’s needed to run our club and now we just use PlayMetrics. I can change field plans and instantly communicate that to all players and parents affected, create my season plans, and manage player and coach profiles from one spot. This is needed in the industry, never looking back.
Service charges. !!!Beware!!! - this app charges service fees for credit card payments AND bank transfers. Credit card companies do charge merchants, but banks do not. Presumably, sports teams pay for the use of the app, but the app makes even more money by taking 3% of credit card payments and 1.5% of bank transfer payments.
Still poor. No improvement. Navigation through the app is horrible. The schedule component requires toggling between different views to see an overall game & practice schedule. Like others, I have noticed the app opens only 50-75% of the time on the first attempt. Otherwise you have to close out & reopen. God forbid if your kid is on 2 teams and you have to learn how to toggle between that. This is the absolute worst app development one may ever have to experience.
Can’t imagine users interviewed. This is, by far, the most difficult and least intuitive app I have ever used. I cannot imagine any users of this app have been interviewed to inform or improve the user flow or UI. Entire thing needs scrapped and started over. It’s beyond me why any club would force this on teams when there are far better apps.
Not impressed!. The app tajes forever to open and sometimes i have to restart it 3-4 times before it fully opens. I’m not the only one who has this issue on our team. It is NOT user friendly at all! I am blind and the app doesn’t allow you to change print size or colors! In order to read. Hats i have to screenshot and read then come back to reply. I have used several other sports apps and this is by far the worst!!
Hate it. Just move from team snap and I hate it. The menu names are confusing, it constantly goes back to the non team group then the main group chat. It’s clunky and can’t name the chats, you also can’t add your own resources. Finding the main things used is so many more taps.
Meant for club use not player/family friendly. Been using this app since March. From a parent stand point it is a big nope from me. Constantly reloading, logged out, when I click ‘view all’ under the calendar it takes me back to day one…lots of scrolling and clicking around. I see why clubs use this, it’s a one stop shop for them, I get that. Messaging or chatting needs revamping, the box is small, once you type a sentence or two you have to scroll up to read it from the top, why can’t the box continue to enlarge as I type?? Seems really outdated. Then I can’t tell if people get the actual message unless they respond, after sending the message it looks like it didn’t send, I then have to shut down the app and reopen it to see if the message sent. I was my daughters team manager last season and that was so SO annoying. Put a thumbs up option for sent messages please and fix the box. I like that I can see the entire day, I see uniform color, time, field number, any notes typed in…that is sweet for sure! I like that I can filter the app to show JUST one schedule instead of 3 mixed together. In the end this app is glitchy and more work than other apps we have used. Clubs will love this app! FYI-playmetrics support staff is OUTSTANDING, many people had trouble creating accounts, I would have to defer them to the support link, everyone that used them had great things to say, I used them once and the issue was resolved fast.
No directions to fields. Did something change? I can no longer click on the location associated with a game and be promoted to use navigation apps.
What’s needed. The app works fine but would like to be able to see player availability. We are able to put it in for coaches but as a player I am unable to see what teammates aren’t going to be at practice or games. Other apps I used give you this feature. Would also like to have player and parent contact info so we can connect directly instead of have to use the chat feature which goes to the whole team.
Can’t change password. If you get logged out and forget your password you are screwed. There is a button if you forget your password and they send you an email. You click on the email and it puts you back at the exact same in login page, but you need to sign in with your password, but you forgot your password…rinse and repeat. It puts you in this loop and you can never login. Please fix. No way to contact the company for help.
Poor graphics, tiny text. I give this app 3 stars because the graphics are really poor. Especially for people like me who cannot read small text without glasses, the text is very difficult to read. There is a ton of empty spaces that would have allowed larger text. Larger text could be a huge improvement.
Ugh. So unreliable. Our soccer league started using this app this year. It is so problematic and unreliable to use. Most notably, when you get a notification that there’s an update or a game change or some other new information and you tap on the notification, very consistently the app times out and cannot connect to the servers. It’s almost as if a new notification crashes the servers.I have learned the hard way not to click on a notification and to wait at least one hour for the servers to catch up. I would say that 10 out of 10 times whenever a new notification comes out, you cannot login nor see the new information.
Slow!. Every time opening the app, it spends too much time loading making the messaging functionality highly annoying to use. TeamSnap was better - and they set the bar pretty low.
Please fix scroll and add reply function. It would be really helpful to add a reply function to a specific message. The scroll needs to be fixed. If you try to scroll up it just jumps a few months back.
Terrible!. I heard that this software is great from the club perspective bc it integrates all the different functions in one place (scheduling, billing, emailing, texting, etc.) but it is TERRIBLE from a parent use-ability perspective! It seems the software was made for running on a PC bc I have found it easier to use there, but it is absolutely horrific using the app on my iPhone! It freezes constantly, I have to turn off my phone to reload pretty much every time I open the app, links the club sends for team hotel bookings, etc. open inside the app and then freeze, these links also don’t recognize saved passwords (for example logging in to Marriott, etc. for hotel points) bc they only open inside the app, there is no way to open the links outside the app (so must get on PC), the user interface for the calendar is cumbersome and inefficient, you can’t see if a message has been posted unless you go in and actually open the app to check…. I could go on and on! TeamSnap was what we used for years prior to our club switching to Playmetrics and from a parent-user perspective TeamSnap was SO MUCH BETTER! Ugh. Really can’t stand Playmetrics. It makes things harder not easier.
Used to be good but not any more. My family has used this app for the last two years. Year one, we rarely had issues with the app. Year 2, it has been a nightmare. It’s constantly crashing, can’t login half the time even though I put in the correct login information, and is always buggy once I am able to get into the app. I never have issues with the computer online version, but the app is probably the worst app that I have had ever used. I would have rated it “0” stars but that option is not available.
Set attendance. This feature is broken. Unless I 2 to 3 days in advance, try to mark my children as going to attend it will not allow me to especially the day of. Coaches and parents need to be able on the day if something changes to adjust the attendance of their child to give the coach a heads up.
Buggy and clunky. We have used this app for soccer for a few years and it has not improved over that time. The setup overall is clunky and ugly, but the worst part is how buggy it is. When scrolling in the chat window it will jump way back in time when u reach the top. The width of the chat window will be fixed one moment then open up the next so now u can scroll side to side. Chat windows should stay fixed. The back buttons do not always work. Other buttons cause the text window to jump up without a keyboard there. There are tons of these apps that do a much better job, but our soccer program has decided to use it so we are stuck.
Bad user experience. Trying to fill out forms and upload documents and the experience is awful. It says I have too many files uploaded and it’s says to delete them but there is no clear way to do it. And it keeps uploading files I haven’t selected. Literally keeping me from finishing a registration for my daughter’s soccer team. TeamSnap is way better.
Much better. I’ve been using this as a Team Manager for U11 Girls, we switched from TeamSnap. It took a while to get used to and there was a few issues before the app fixes but since then it’s worked really well and realize now it’s much more useful. Very easy to communicate with everyone on the team and making changes to events is way more straight forward. Plus we don’t get tons of notifications and ads popping up. All the extra stuff like seeing what my daughters coach has planned for practice and getting her player evaluation through the app is really nice to have as a parent.
Love this app but needs notification fix. This app is awesome. I wish I would have had it for coaching traveling so many years. It has pretty much any function you could ask for when it comes to planning games/practices and communicating with players and their family. The notifications need to be fixed though. I have push only and still receive texts and emails. So now if I get two messages I get 6 notifications even though push only is enabled. Annoying as heck and I can’t disable it.

Am I missing something?. Is there not a team chat?
TeamSnap is better. No roster, no team chat horrible set up
Good. Good
Email. I feel like there is an issue with the email. Sometimes the coaches and admin seem to get them, sometimes they don’t. I’m not sure if that’s a difference between emailing within the app or replying through my own email, but It’a frustrating.

Since the latest update I get logged out and have to log back in. Since the latest update I get logged out and have to log back in
Has authentication problems. The app itself is decent. My main gripe with the iOS app is that it frequently has session authentication problems. As a user I shouldn’t constantly see these auth errors for invalid sessions and timeouts. Just update all of that behind the scenes please.
My experience with this app. Everything ran smoothly, the app worked well, no bugs or issues. Everything was where it should be!
Hate it. Just move from team snap and I hate it. The menu names are confusing, it constantly goes back to the non team group then the main group chat. It’s clunky and can’t name the chats, you also can’t add your own resources. Finding the main things used is so many more taps.

Garbage, needs updating. App doesn’t look like it has been updated for modern iPhones, links don’t open correctly, scrolling is bad, etc. on top of all of that the UX is just poorly designed.
Crappy App. When I get a notification and tap it, most of the time it either doesn’t load up and I have to restart the app, or I have to login again. If it works, the app is fine, but it’s 50/50 if it works.
No directions to fields. Did something change? I can no longer click on the location associated with a game and be promoted to use navigation apps.
App stalls a lot. Although it serves its purpose for communication and game/practice schedule and updates, it consistently stalls to where I can’t access the app. I have to remove and re download the app every couple of weeks which is quite frustrating
Notifications. App does not clear notification badges after messages have been interacted with, read, etc. It makes it difficult to know when critical team information is being communicated or when interaction is needed with the app. A basic function of a communication app.
External Links. This app is OK but if you’re given an external link in messaging and and open it you can not close the external window to get back to messages. You have to restart your phone and get back to the PlayMetrics app.
Team availability disappeared. Latest update removed the ability for everyone to see who was available for matches. They need to bring this feature back.
Would not change a thing!. PlayMetrics is the best it sends you reminders and it can help you clarify with your team if some people don’t have iMessage. GET IT NOW!
Badges not working. I just want badge notifications, but they aren’t working…? App is pretty decent, but UI ought to be cleaned up. I get confused every time I use the app. :(
Very ez to use. It has been very nice to use to keep coaching info easily organized.
PlayMetrics. Team snap is way better. Our soccer club use to have teamsnap but switch over to PlayMetrics because of pricing and it has been terrible. It is complicated to navigate the app and u cannot see the roster. Further more it keeps logging me out of my phone so I have to keep logging back in.
Amazing!could not be any better!. This is a great app!something you should totally check out. App has very modern settings!Thank you PlayMetrics.
Good app for teams. It works well for communication and scheduling for multiple players and teams.
TeamSnap is better. This app consistently kicks you off on your phone and you need to log back in. Interface is not user-friendly. The chat feature Is clumsy and not quick to use. My team went from TeamSnap to this, and I wish we could go back to TeamSnap. This app needs major improvement in many areas. Please get better.
Terrible. This app is not user friendly at all. I wish we would go back to TeamSnap which is so much better. You can’t see other rosters like you can on that app. TeamSnap would show you so much more. I am hoping we don’t have to use this app next year.
Freezes all the time. It works for a few days then it starts to fail on “connecting to authentication”. This is the 3rd time I have had to completely remove the app and reinstall it. Very frustrating and a complete waste of time.
Login. I have been unable to log into the PlayMetrics app for months now. I’ve tried contacting support and they’ve been unable to resolve the issue. I now have to use the web version of PlayMetrics as opposed the app. I really wished our club soccer would just end using this app altogether moving forward .
Very slow. Every time you open the app it takes an eternity to load. I counted three separate loading animations before the content actually loaded. I dread opening the app.
Playmetrics is great! Easy to use!. Really easy App to use. Everything is laid out for you!
Could do better. The app only opens half the time. Message “having trouble establishing a connection.” Not convenient when your traveling and need game details. Other parents have the same issue
Don’t use. This app is worse than most, can’t see any information in. Can’t see who primary parents are, contact lists are jumbled and you can’t change them. 8 years of using various apps for youth sports and this is by far the worst one.
Something wrong after update. App has been fine but still not a fan of the UI. Feels so early 2000’s. I use to get notifications but now I don’t and the whole team is experiencing the same. We have to also log back in every time we open the app.
Message notifications broken. Constantly says I have a message. But I don’t. Won’t clear. Super annoying. Most people I’ve shown also have same thing. FIX IT
Latest Update Issues. The latest version of the app seems to have issues because it keeps on logging me out other than that it seems to be decent
Really good. I really like that my schedule is updated as soon as the club makes a change. Also both my kids in one calendar is great.
Freezes up. At least once a week I have to remove and download the app again due to it freezing on my phone. It’s quite frustrating as a parent and manager.
Fix it. Whenever I go into this app it logs me out everytime and when I try to log back in, it just takes forever to load so in order for me to use this app I have to download and redownload it again. Teamsnap better !
Slow!. Every time opening the app, it spends too much time loading making the messaging functionality highly annoying to use. TeamSnap was better - and they set the bar pretty low.
Notifications are off. This app is just ok. The latest updates won’t clear the notifications even after every message and chat has been looked at
Horrible app.
Horrible app when you have two or more players.. My twins are playing in two different teams and app is constantly messing up one of my kids’s team. It often doesn’t appear in “my teams” section and many times you need to restart phone multiple times so this dysfunctional app will work properly.
Buggy. Cannot type a message on iphone11 without text box being covered by keyboard. I have notifications turned on and they are not appearing for some reason. Otherwise app seems pretty nice.
Really Like PlayMetrics. Our club recently transitioned to PlayMetrics. I really like that I can see both my kid’s schedule in a single interface. Communication from the club has been much better through this app as well.
Need to add this feature. Overall the app is fine aside from some glitches. Only problem is that you cannot delete sent emails. Very annoying when you accidentally send something to a coach that you did not mean to, and then you cannot delete it. Please add this and i will change my review to 5 starts.
Barely useable. The events attendance function in this app basically doesn’t work (it requires more taps that any reasonable human can tolerate, and even then, it intermittently saves your selection). And the emailing functionality is hilarious — if your admin emails your entire team and you reply, welcome to “reply all” h*ll.
Inferior to other sports apps. Can’t clear message notifications, app isn’t intuitive to find info you need, and it crashes frequently. Alas, we have no choice since our club uses this platform.
Very easy to use and helpful. This is a great app compared to other team apps I’ve used. It is easy to access any information I need communicate with effectively.
Connection issues. Like many apps in theory this is great, but in reality it’s frustrating and problematic. Coupled with terrible customer service it is not suitable as the only way to manage your team or reliable enough to use as it’s intended as a parent. Log in issues and app connectivity issues make it impossible to depend on for location and game information.
