Lacking. The app won’t recognize the notes from my real kalimba even with recognization mode on. Other than that it’s pretty good.

Wish Recognition Worked. This would be an awesome app if the recognition worked. I want to learn to play songs on my own Kalimba.

“Kalimba Connect” doesn’t connect. Unlike what the app leads you to believe, it can’t actually sync with the audio from your real kalimba. It has a button to turn on music recognition but it doesn’t actually do anything. Real bummer, I guess it would be alright if you don’t have a real kalimba but if you do it’s not helpful in learning to play.

It doesn’t allow the Kalimba to sync. I’m trying to use my real Kalimba but it doesn’t even work with the app since the app doesn’t ask to use the microphone

Never using again. This app is terrible! I am unable use my real kalimba with it! It does not ask for my microphone so that might be the biggest issue! Wooo be changing my review once it gets fixed but till then I would not recommend to any IOS users!

Good, but could be better. I enjoy the sound, but find the music incomprehensible. I wish there were more western music available. Xmas carols are enuf for western players

Falls advertisement.. They say it’ll detect your kalimba so you can follow along with the app but it doesn’t. They never updated their software for it to do that. I bought a vip membership and still got nothing. Don’t waste your money based for this feature. Other than that it’s alright but there are better/cheaper apps out there.

Recognition??. So I tried to turn on the irl kalimba recognition thing, and it didn’t work. I went into the settings since the app never even asked for mic perms. Don’t you need to enable mic perms to use the recognition?! Somebody please fix this, I was really excited when I found this app because of the recognition stuff.

Recognition won’t work. I was super excited to find an app that has so many songs I’m an American otaku so I was happy I knew quite a few songs on this app. But I can’t get the recognition to work at all I uninstalled and reinstalled it twice and nothing it shows it’s picking up sound but I can’t play on my own Kalimba. Do I have to pay for the full version to use it?

Doesn’t work. It doesn’t even use the microphone, it doesn’t ask for permissions and in settings there isn’t a microphone option. It doesn’t hear the kalimba and you can’t play the song without it hearing that you hit the kalimba note. It does have lots of songs though, but you have to upgrade for a lot of them. Doesn’t matter if I can’t play them though does it😂

Please fix recognition!!!!. I can figure the songs out on my own Kalimba if I slow it down enough and gradually increase the speed. However, I really wished that the recognition feature worked because that would make it a lot easier and I might actually pay for the premium version

Great concept but lacks musicality. The music is the same that you’ll find tabs for Kalimba with much being Japanese, Chinese and Vietnamese music, but pretty. The problem I have with the app is that the timing is poor in dropping the notes. Each measure is fine, but the count at the end coming into the next measure is not right. Maybe this is an Asian thing but western music is timed carefully in each measure. So playing the music the way it ought to sound is off. Either I play the notes to hurry up and wait or if I slow it down there is a lag and then the background music is off. It is strange. If you could fix this then it would be nicer. I do like the app though and if I find it was operator error (my mistake in using the app) then I will come back to change my review. I have only been using it an hour, but I do play the Kalimba

I love this app!!. I love this app but i would like for there be a choice to have both numbers and letters like a real kalimba but i still love it because I get to learn and play new songs and I had this for a long time already I got this because I wanted to buy a Kalimba and so this app really made me want one and now I have one and I get to learn how to play new song on my Kalimba from this app! Thank you so much!😁

Fun but. . .. I’ve had this app for a few weeks and I love it when it works. But most of the time there is no sound! I’d give it 4 stars if it worked every time but I have to turn off the app, clear the phone and restart the phone before the sound comes back. I’m playing “the sounds of silence” but not on purpose!

Great Game Overall. This is a great app. I love how there is a global leaderboard. The only issue I really have with this app is there is no way to delete an account. For my own reasons, I would like the option to delete some of my accounts and have them taken off the global leaderboard. Please add the feature to be able to delete accounts.

Depressing monetization design.. This app has so many features that many people would pay for, available hassle-free and actually free. But basic manual playing and retuning is obstructed by the design of the menus, for the purpose of triggering ads. Why? Do you not see it should be the other way around?

Doesn’t recognize real Kalimba!. I tried to use it with my real Kalimba! but it’s not recognizing, I checked with my mic privacy settings and the app isn’t even there which means it’s fake listening! When you install any software that uses the mic it has to ask for permission to use the mic which this isn’t the case here, So how is it supposed to recognize the real Kalimba?! By the sixth sense?!

Nice but. I just ordered my first Kalimba and downloaded to practice and learn some songs. My issue is; the timing is off somehow. Like I know a song and I’m like it’s not that slow. My biggest thing is I want to turn off that background sound and there’s no way to do it. It’s annoying and clicks, I just want the Kalimba sounds

Ads make this miserable. Seems to be a fun app with a lot of potential, but I don’t have time to waste with ads, ads, ads! Would like a paid option without the ads.

Enjoyable,. I am new to playing the Kalimba. The app is easy to follow with really nice sound. I can see this as an aid to quickly learning this instrument.

Loses sound. Out of nowhere the instrument stops making sound and I have to keep rebooting the app. And it has so many adds so rebooting it annoying.

Note recognition? Doesn’t work. I’ve tuned, retuned my Kalimba. I’ve tried every setting. Nothing works. I can see the microphone symbol is showing that it is hearing the notes, but it just doesn’t recognize I’m playing the same note it wants me to. Even though I am, and I’m in tune. There is a setting to change note recognition to approximate from absolute, still doesn’t work.

What Happend?. My sound don’t work and my volume is all the way up I don’t know why they have 5 stars pls respond pls I really want help with the sound. I’m trying to be nice and calm as possible Thank You!

Daym, that's so ez. Those songs are so EZ, there are no chords, just melody, and this just like a simulator, u can not even play it with your real kalimba

why isn’t there Steven universe songs. I wish there was I feel like y’all don’t know some songs that we like so *sigh* can y’all put Steven universe songs?

This app is amazing. This is a good app for the people who are interested in this instrument. I think you should make an option to have higher pitches, and maybe different colors just to be more playful

Fast Forward/Rewind Needed. I tend to memorize songs by sections and then by piecing those sections together, but this is hard to do when I have to replay the entire song over and over to get to the one section I’m at. If I could play the section, rewind to just before the section starts, play the section again and repeat until I am ready to move to the next section, that would be extremely helpful.

Fun app. This is a fun app for the times I don’t have a Kalimba handy. I enjoy the tunes and concept. Thank you for sharing the joy of kalimba!

Recognition feature doesn’t work?. Not sure if I’m doing it wrong or if the recognition feature doesn’t work lol I am playing as loud as I can and it still doesn’t pick up

Interactive. Seems more like a fun, interactive game rather than a tool to learn how to play the kalimba. That being said it was fun to play with and nice that it would stop for you to get the right note instead of buzz an ugly noise at you when you got it wrong.

More songs. I love this app and don’t get me wrong there are a lot of songs but not a lot of songs that I’m interested in learning. I would like more English songs, that is really the only issue I have. Other than that I love this app and it has taught me a lot

Can’t hear music. I play the trial song and then an ad appears and I no longer can hear any sound coming from the instrument. Super frustrating.

Demasiados anuncios .... La aplicación es buena y ayuda a personas que están iniciando. Presenta buen potencial para crecer . Tiene música hecha por personas que dominan el instrumento pero permite subir música de personas que solo suben notas por subir. Los anuncios son agobiantes. Prefiero pagar un precio razonable que continuar con el mismo anuncio cada vez que decido volver al menu a escoger otra canción. Good apps, but have to much ads that’s its irritable , really I prefer buy for the APPS. Have a lot of potencial to grow. Please remove just a little the ads, that really make me angryyyyyy. How you connect the kalimba to recognition notes???

Bug App. After playing for two weeks with sounds, then the sounds stop working. It works when plugging in headset but not without. The apps listening features don’t work when playing with a real kalimba. I removed and reload app and will have issues. Sent message to developer but not responding to messages.

Excellent App!. The soothing tunes of the Kalimba calmed my nerves after my credit card information was stolen. I may be thousands of dollars in debt, but at least I can enjoy a wonderful Kalimba solo. 10/10

Cute but sad!. The app is easy to understand and use thankfully! It’s really helpful with my new kalimba I just got! Yet it doesn’t recognize my notes when I have recognition mode on to pay with my actual kalimba. I really want this fixed so i can learn to play!

It’s fun but a bit disorganised. The songs need to be listed alphabetically and by artist instead of the current way which is just impossible to look through with the amount of songs there are

Enjoyable!. I am enjoying the ease of learning through play. Songs I already know and like. Hope I can transfer game to actual Kalimba.

Fun but doesn’t work on my phone. It is lots of fun but I wish it would work on my phone or at least on the shorter width of my ipad as it is a stretch for the thumbs on the ipad.

Crashes. it crashes every 30 seconds and turns my phone off maybe it’s a bug or my phone but it doesn’t work so don’t recommend

Misleading. YouTube videos by the developer make it seem like you can play a real Kalimantan and it will register your notes as correct or incorrect within the game. Doesn’t work. You can tell it’s hearing the notes but that info does not get passed to the game. Very disappointing.
