Please come back devs!. As someone who played enter the gungeon for hours on end, this is game is great! A full on 2D gungeon is great and I honestly like it better than the first game. But developers, PLEASE come back to working on this game! It needs way more bug fixing! For example, I was playing for the first time as the marine, and after I got the key from the rat in the shop, I then left the shop. Well, after I left, I was hyphen stuck on the platform with no enemies spawning, forcing me to reload the game and play as a different character. Basically, what I’m saying is please, come back to updating your game! Edit: Yay! They have now come back to update AND put it on pc! 3 stars to 5 stars!

Love it, one problem I’m having. I never played Enter the Gungeon, but nevertheless, I really enjoy this game. It’s really difficult (I’ve never gotten past a second boss) but it’s really fun. One problem I’m having that I’ve seen a couple other people mention too: when I try to buy the H4MMER in the shop in the breach, it spends my “hegemony credits”, but doesn’t “send” the gun to the gungeon or remove it from the shop. But overall, fun game, nice challenge. EDIT: I lowered my rating to 4 stars because the problem I mentioned is a bit more serious than I thought. Apparently you literally just can’t buy guns in the shop in the breach. It spends your credits, but doesn’t give you the gun. You can buy items, but I think the shop only gets new stock when you empty the old stock. So if you can’t buy guns, you can’t buy items. And buying items and guns in the shop is the only way I know of to progress besides just getting better at the game.

Exit the Gungeon is great!. I was skeptical at first looking at the trailer for it but I am thoroughly surprised! The controls are east to learn and hard to master, the game is extremely fun and overall this game alone made me get Apple Arcade! The only con I have is if you open the pause feature while fighting a boss everything disappears and you start taking hits rapidly. 10/10 would play again and again... and again!

Handles like crap. This game is fun, besides the fact that the game likes the spawn 7 or more enemies on a platform small enough to literally dodgeroll across. Oh, did I mention the game does the shooting for you? That means you’re going to miss ALL of your shots. Yes, all of them. You can’t lead your shots because of the mobile limitations of the game. Oh and the game is stuck in blessed mode, which is boring enough but also, you can reach level 8 kalibur level and still get a gun as bad as the klobber. Level 8 is a level you get to by not getting hit for a long time - the game is supposed to reward you for it. The klobber’s a comedically bad weapon that wont kill a bat (flies essentially). Anyway, have fun! Try not to dodgeroll into an enemy (you will)!

Amazing game. I’ve played around 400 hours of the original Enter the Gungeon and I’m glad that this turned out to be an amazing spinoff. It has the spirit of the original game while adding new and fun mechanics. I’ve only really exited with Hunter and Bullet, but I’ve had a phenomenal time so far. Can’t speak for people that never played the original, but I’m sure they can have as good as an experience. Keep doing what you’re doing, Dodge Roll.

Well executed. Not so much content. I beat the game w each character. On my last character, I got all 5 master rounds. Not only did I not get anything special for beating it w the final character, I didn’t unlock a special boss or weapon for my immaculate run. I was very disappointed. On top of that, all those NPCs I’ve saved over the first few runs, I’ve seen only one of them during any of my future runs. Not sure if there’s a special trigger I’m missing, but it seems like the encounter rate needs to be increased rn. The breach seems kinda empty; all I can do is buy more things to encounter for future runs, and swap characters. Aside from these small squabbles, the content that is there is quite good, well polished, and v fun. Def worth the price of the arcade subscription, but may not be enough to keep me around forever (I haven’t played ocean horn 2 yet...).

Better than I expected. I’m a big fan of Enter the Gungeon so was pretty excited when I saw this, but at the same time didn’t have the highest expectations as console to mobiles usually aren’t very good. To my surprise I actually really enjoyed the gameplay. I found the touch controls to be much more intuitive than I expected, and find myself playing on my phone a lot. However, I was really excited to discover that when I play with my DualShock controller on my Apple TV it uses almost the same control mechanism as Enter the Gungeon on PS4. However, I must say I wish they incorporated the more controlled jumping feature from the touch controls. I feel with some levels that extra precision is almost necessary.

Not good enough, yet.. I would like to state that Enter the Gungeon is one of my favorite games of all time. The gameplay, references, art style, and over all detail is incredible. Unfortunately I don’t feel this game lives up to its predecessor. The core gameplay seems like it could be very fun under the right circumstances but it doesn’t feel well executed. My rating is only so high because I know Dodgeroll will probably continue working on the game long after initial release and I believe they will fix all of the problems I have dealt with while playing the game. Despite this negative review I am really looking forward to seeing the final product, and will likely change my review once I have seen these fixes and additions made.

Best Game On Apple Arcade, But. Most of the time, when I try to fight The Last Dragun, when I beat The Last Dragun, when I enter the ship, or when I try to get on the jet ski with the space turtle to fight the secret boss, my game crashes and I have to restart my run. I assume this is because of the 3D models used for the Dragun, ship, and Secret Boss, so using pre-rendered 2D animations of those could fix the issue. It would also slow the battery drain during those bits. Also, please, PLEASE let the game save each time you either enter or leave the shop so runs aren't cut short by crashes or backing out of the app, or using another app for too long. I’ve lost my best runs to crashes, the app deciding the reset cuz I had to text someone, and many other things that were out of my control. This game is incredibly fun because of the fact that every hit you take is your fault, and having the game not just lower my health, but make me reset my entire run, for something that is both out of my control and not my fault, really drains the joy out of my experience. Other than that, this is an incredible sequel to one of my favorite games of all time, and it gives me hope for mobile devices as a gaming platform. I can’t wait to see what the next update brings, even if my issues aren’t resolved by then. Keep up the great work!

An enjoyable disappointment. For context, Enter the Gungeon is my favorite game ever, meaning that this game had high expectations for me. This game’s premise and gameplay is astonishing, having as great of a feel as the original in its difficulty and humor. Where this game lacks is in its bugs. Numerous glitches or irritating mechanics happened throughout my gameplay. The fact that roll bombs and guns with explosions hurt you is ridiculous intentionally or not, not being able to get a fifth master round after beating the final boss without taking damage is furious even though it technically wouldn’t be used, the medusalier turning completely invisible if you pause during its fight is just horrid, and (this might be isolated to me) not getting the rat to sell me a key for the hat vendor after twenty or so rounds of playing is irritating. This game’s gameplay is purely phenomenal, but the amount of broken this game is really holds it back.

Flintlocks & Fixes. I’m writing this review as somewhat of a follow-up of my previous review, where I had promised that if most of the bugs that had somewhat marred this game had been fixed, I would reconsider my review. Now, with the recent updates, you have completely fixed some issues I had with the game during my original review, plus some things I didn’t even know I wanted fixed. The general changes to the shop greatly improved the flow of gameplay, for example. All-in-all, this game is fantastic, especially for mobile standards. Great job, devs!

Really enjoy the game but. This game is great, amazing graphics, runs so smooth, but for some reason the moving control seems wonky, it constantly seems to get me killed, sometimes as I’m moving I feel like it stops working completely for a second, I have a 13 Pro Max, so like I said the performance is great, I’m just not understanding why it feels as I cannot move well, the jumping and rolling controls feel fine though, the slow motion makes it slightly easier to plan where you want to go.

Straight Up Having A Great Time. I love the game and how reminiscent of Enter The Gungeon it is. One little problem though, sometimes when I start the game I get the message “Active Game Center ID has changed” which then quickly flashes to “Error reading save file, the application will now close.” I’ve found that the only way to fix this is to tap the “Ok” button on the first message before it gets replaced by the second. But still an epic game that deserves the 5 stars.

I’m hecking love this game. I really love the characters, it is so cool, and I even beat 5 stages or is it 6 stages, I don’t know, but it is way beyond awesomeness, and my cousin got a new game call enter the Gungeon on the Xbox one. I also beat 12 bosses, and the final boss that is the last dragun, I haven’t beaten 3 of those bosses yet, but I want to know what it is, and I like those random guns, and those powerful guns. And those enemies are so cool that they can shoot or attack or fly or anything, maybe. And I also mastered the tutorial boss for good, and I have unlocked training for the enemies to come out, and I have unlocked new guns and items that will make me powerful, and I like the taste of violence, and I like to give my rate a 5.

Confused. I like the gameplay but am lost on how to progress...I go thru the main door to an elevator, kill them all, go to the shop screen with a couple doors, kill everything in both rooms, then I’m just stuck there in the shop, nowhere else to go. I go back to the breach or whatever and everything is the same, do it again but it’s the same. I don’t believe it’s just these 2 rooms and an elevator ride but after searching for an hour I have no idea where else to go. Maybe a bit more instruction on how the heck to play the game. Too bad...it was fun for the 5 minutes it took to beat the 2 rooms I could find.

Amazing. This game is incredible. I’m spending more time here than any other game on the Apple Arcade. It’s legit amazing and is so fun to play. (Honestly I recommend playing with a Xbox or PlayStation controller because playing with touch controls is slightly uncomfortable for this game) It however has bugs. Many of these have been fixed however there are still quite a few left. There is room for improvement and I honestly hope the devs keep working on it. Amazing but PLEASE fix the bugs.

Still has so much potential... and bugs.... I freakin love this game, I was never able to finish the original but this felt like more of the same glorious format but streamlined for mobile. But now it’s been 4 months since there has been any update and it doesn’t seem like there will be which is a massive bummer because I 100% it. However like many other review have said there are still many bugs like the infinite angry birds game for free and never seeing the freed characters we saved. Also there is no higher difficulties or secret levels to keep me engaged once I’ve beat the main game the 80 times I have. Would love to see some more support and updates to the game to give it just that extra bit more that would make this a 5 star game.

Super fun. This game is super fun and the touch screen controls work great once you get used to them (in other words get gud), the game had clearly been rushed for apple arcade (same for oceanhorn 2) so I hope there will be future updates. There are a few bugs in the game such as the unlimited “angry” birds like minigame, talking to the snail softlocks my game, and if you do a dodge jump into the ship from the right distance at the end you can get the credits text to double up on it self. I hope this review is helpful and I am looking forward to future updates. This is the only game I have apple arcade for and I would rather buy and keep it than lose it when I tire of apple arcade.

Great sequel... with some issues. The game perfectly captures the feel of the first game. As someone with over 500 hours of the first game, i can admire this game very well. However the game is very glitchy with some items (such as clone) not working or some shops being glitchy. If this game where to have an update where they add some stuff and patch notes it would be a perfect game (maybe add synergies or some new items or new characters). Also please make the hats actually work and not be super glitchy

Great game, but needs a few bug fixes. I love playing this game as much as the original, but it needs a few bug fixes. The medusalier boss fight, for starters, has a bug where if you pause and unpause during the fight, the medusalier will become invisible and you'll constantly take damage until you die. Second, the outfits are not saving when I buy them, then later quit the game. So if these can get fixed please, I would really appreciate it.

Needs more guns. I was hoping that they would be an update or two after the game updated a year ago hoping something exciting would happen but the game needs more updates and new features so could you please try to add new features to the game and possibly try to add new characters or guns pls If you would add more guns and characters to the game pls here’s a trinket you should have this trinket allows you to wield two of the same gun you wield instead of one

A Great Game All Around. This game is very entertaining, and after having previously played Enter the Gungeon on a different device, I can conclude that y’all who made these games have a knack for puns. And I must respect you for it, as puns are my favorite thing. I wish I had more to say on this amazing game but I can’t remember much, I just like it, the designs of the enemies and characters, the play style, and the mechanics. Would recommend.

Great Game but short. This is a challenging game with lots of gameplay, but the guns look cool functionality they’re either good and awesome or looking creative but crap. The gameplay is nice, but it has no meaningful replay ability the excuse plot concludes with a anticlimactic ending, and it changes very little between characters. The characters feel the same with relatively different maps and bosses and a new gimmick. When you play enough you git gud when that happens play something else.

Best mobile game -some bugs though. Love this game it’s my go to when I’ve got some time to kill. The game play is great and the random gun system makes each run different than the last just like Enter the Gungeon. I have run into some bugs though that can be frustrating for example I had a notification pop up during a boss fight and the boss disappeared. One run I paused the game during a fight and the enemies stopped spawning. Also most frustrating on one run I made it to the end and selected “endanger everyone”to see what would happen and the game would not let me exit the gungeon any more not sure if that was intentional or a bug.

My old review disappeared, so here’s another one. I have played the enter the Gungeon loved that game, then this came out. I had to have it. At first the game was hard but not hardcore, and the dragun was fair now he is so much tainkier and his attacks are so much faster, if the speed went down then the dragun wouldn’t take ten years to kill because he KEEPS USING THE STINKING BACKGROUND ATTACKS. the attacks themselves are fine it’s just the speed that’s the problem. My rant aside this game is too good and I highly recommend it, just expect to die. A lot.

Great Game!. Great game, but needs bug fixes and more content. For instance, Doug doesn’t always show up, (which might be supposed to happen, idk). There is also the weird glitch where, if you pause during a boss battle, the boss disappears and you take damage every second until you die. I also don’t know if there is an npc in the underbreach that goes into the anvil room, I haven’t found them yet. All in all, fantastic game, but not quite there yet.

Great rougelike with some bugs. Black hole gun doesn’t pull in enemies like it does in the trailer Something I would like is a minigame practice mode where you could play just desert golf, winchesters original game, and helmet kicko. Maybe have an arcade machine in the bar in underbreach unlock after you play all the games and unlock the bar (maybe make it a reference to the house of the gun dead while your at it)

Awesome game but one big glitch. So i was playing as normal then unexpectedly i win (hooray) so then i close the game and continue with my day.I wanted to share with my friend the game but then it wouldn't let me get past the exit the gungeon logo, i close the app then open it again but when the game starts up MY SAVE DATA WAS DELETED ALL OF MY UNLOCKS AND MY WIN WAS GONE. This had happened to me before but i never really made any progress but the one time that i win i lose all of my save data. I wish they would fix this because i want to keep playing but i don't want that i beat the game with almost all the characters, turn it off and then losing my progress TL:DR I lost my progress all of it

Awesome game but not much replayability. I love this game so much and the controls are easy to use and very fun but unlike its original inspiration enter the gungeon it dosent have much to offer once you beat all characters routs. You can unlock everything but there's no ultimate gun once you done it all like a version of the finished gun. Besides that this game I highly recommend if your in a car or plane as it uses littel to no internet. Also cultist is broken

Nearly perfect, just one or two minor bugs. This game is great and I have had plenty of fun with it in the little under a month I’ve had it. I would recommend it to anyone interested in downloading it, as you can easily log multiple hours in it on the go or at home. I only have two problems with it: one: the untitled gun seems to glitch out sometimes and just not fire, making you have to wait for the gun to change while dodging bullets. Two: I believe the achievement for getting bello’s stools might be impossible on my current save file. Despite having 36+ hours on that file and having nearly every other achievement, I haven’t been able to get him to trigger the dialogue to initiate his ‘side quest.’ Other than those two things the game is practically perfect and I have no other complaints.

Best Apple Arcade Game Worst Performance. Out of all the games I played so far this is by far the best but the poor optimization on both my 6th generation iPad and iPhone 7 Plus makes it almost unplayable. Both of my devices have played much more demanding games at a stable frame rate, and with Exit the Gungeon, frame rate drops so bad that it’s like I’m flipping through a PowerPoint presentation, and it happens in all areas of the game, even if I’m in a room with one enemy. It slows down for a few seconds then speeds right back up. Hopefully there will be a fix for this soon, or a graphics option if A10 and A11 chip devices really are unable to run it smoothly at full optimization, which I doubt is the case.

Engrossed but distraught. I have been playing this more than I probably should. I love it. However, I feel that some of the achievements are not working or the game is no longer progressing. I just did the achievement “give a loner something to kill time” and it did not unlock. As well as I am no longer seeing the rat, so I can no longer get anymore npc’s. Even though I know there is at least 2 more I need to unlock. I hoe things get fixed soon, but I will still play, I will just be disappointed.

Fun game, not user friendly. I’ve played enter the hinge on before so when I saw this game I decided to give it a shot. After loading up the game I was spat in a starting room where I was given some dialog. Considering I have played the game before I decided to skip the tutorial. I then spent the next 15 minutes in that room just trying to figure out how to start the game. I was able to start a run by going into the pause menu of all places. Once I was in a game I couldn’t figure out how to interact with anything so I had to google it. TO INTERACT WITH THIBGS YOU NEED TO SWIPE UP ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE SCREEN. Since I skipped the tutorial it is very possible I missed this, however it would be a lot more user friendly if there was simply an interact button.

This game is super fun.. if i could keep my progress. I am a huge fan of rouge-like games. I have beaten ENTER the gungeon multiple times and different devices. So you can imagine how excited i was to play another gungeon themed game. I was intrigued by the 2D style of this game. When i originally played it my first thoughts were “this game is really easy” which is fine because there is a hard mode. but… i’ve noticed of late that if i ever don't fully finish an entire run and tab out of the game for like 20-30 mins, I will loose the ENTIRE progress of that run only keeping the credits (i think). I understand that this game is shorter and you can beat it pretty quick but honestly, It gets super repetitive, even with all the character options, they all just feel like reskins of eachother. Also the hat collectibles are more of just big distractions and dont add alot to the game (even though it takes multiple runs to even get a single hat sometimes). I dont see these issues ever getting fixed either because its just the game…. Where is the save and quit button? why are the hats so annoying? why is the game so easy/short. It just seems like a throw away game.

Love it, but.... I love the game and it is a worthy sequel and a very good mobile adaptation, controls worked well and weren’t clunky, however I have some problems, I feel the chest drop is too random and I think it should be based on skill, if you lost no health then a red chest maybe black, if you got hit once or twice a green chest with a chance for red, and if you got hit more than twice a blue chest with chance for green. Also, I got 3 of the same item (gundromeda strain, makes enemies weaker) and it doesn’t stack, what’s the point of getting 2 black chests if they are USELESS, either let stuff stack or prevent duplicate items in the same run, please fix at least this dodgeroll!

A solid game that’s in no way tweaked for mobile. For context, I’ve beaten the original Gungeon several hundred times on PC and unlocked everything, so this isn’t “game is too hard“ whining. Though the controls working as well as they do on a touchscreen is admirable, the sheer amount of enemies, bullets, and precision required on such a small phone screen makes later levels feels like you’re not fighting the game, but rather fighting the way you’re having to play it. I’m sure it’s totally possible to soldier through if you want to invest a ton of time and effort, but a few options to make it more accessible would go along way — even just modifiers to make the game run a bit slower would help massively when first learning boss patterns, or experimental settings to increase sprite sizes for visibility. It’s a good game — it’s just not a good game for mobile if you aren’t first and foremost a mobile gamer.

Great game but major Bugs that need fixing. I would give it 5 starts but I want the issues seen at least. This has just started happening recently but every single time I load up the game and start playing it freezes the game, and the only thing I can do is pause and restart it. Which causes me to lose all my progress on that run. It only happens mid to the end of run when I try talking a Npc to buy something.. if you could fix this that it’d be great because at this point there no point of playing if you can’t because it’s broken. Other then that the game is amazing I love it

Amazing but few suggestions. This game is AMAZING. The controls are weird at first but you get use to them really fast. The game is pretty hard, it takes a while to learn everything but you get the hang of it. But after you do get the hang of it the game gets a bit easy. Like in the other game maybe if you beat all the endings you can unlock bullet hell. Or unlock turbo mode. I also wish there were some more characters. That’s it for me hope you like the game!

Great Starter for Apple Arcade. I’ve been playing this for a few hours on my iPad Pro, and it’s left me very impressed. I’ve never played Enter the Gungeon, but the premise of this game on mobile with a controller drew me in. It runs flawlessly on my tablet and the sound design is incredible. My only gripe is that there could be a lot more information about what exactly is different about each of the selectable starting characters. I’m finding it a bit confusing to get a grasp on their different abilities. I look forward to seeing future updates to the game!

I REALLY ENJOY THE GAME!. Been playing the game for awhile now and i have to say its really fun if you like alil difficulty and strategy to your games. Im hooked on trying to clear all the character routes in the game. Havent unlocked everything of course but thats the fun of playing over again to get better and better. I dont waste my tokens on hats since theres really no support from them other than wasting your tokens for looks. I will point out that whoever was the creator or developer who made the “quad laser” i specifically want you to know that your an IDIOT! Why would a SUPER SLOW square be useful in any situation especially when u stick it with me during a boss level! Either re-create it or trash it all together. Its the worst weapon of them all in my opinion and i never wanted it, but i was forced to buy it to clear the store for new weapons. Other than that dumb mistake the game is really enjoyable and look forward to any updates on this.

Please read. Amazing game.. I wanna preface this by saying that in all my time using the App Store I have literally never wrote a product review cus I hate doing that. TLDR: Best game in the App Store, download it and get ready to waste all your time on this almost perfect mobile gaming experience. That being said, this is literally the best game not only in the ARCADE BUT IN THE ENTIRE APP STORE hands down 🙇🏽‍♂️. If you’ve played Enter the Gungeon just go play this, you’ll feel right at home. It’s stripped down in a item and weapon sense but for what it does bring is almost endless. I’ve played DOZENS of runs mostly losing and have realized I feel this exact same way while playing Enter the Gungeon. Also dozens of references to original game proper sequel material. If you haven’t played Enter the Gungeon, this games pretty dang hard but you’ll never wanna stop coming back to it. It’s incredibly fun and actually very responsive with touch controls, but guess what you can play this with a GAMEPAD. Not like it’ll stop you from dying a lot.. good luck. Thank you Dodge Roll and Single Core games for this experience.

Good game but the glitches. I really like the game and I can’t see much wrong with it other than the countless glitches I’ve had while playing the game, multiple of my runs have been destroyed by this fact, for example: something with the moon scraper messed up before lich dragun and it wouldn’t fire and it wouldn’t change to a new weapon. There’s one where sometimes after I pause the game my health slowly goes down to zero. Despite these issues the games good

Controller essentially required. Game is a blast, but only with a controller. The game just doesn’t work that well using touchscreen controls; it may as well be a totally different (worse) game when using them. Content is... lacking? I’ve rescued tons of NPCs, most of which I seldom/never encounter. I’ve completed the game with all seven characters, I’ve gotten all 5 Master Rounds, yet the rightmost door still remains boarded up. No reward for all Master Rounds is particularly sad considering the 5th round is totally useless as the game ends immediately after. Seriously - no Bullet Hell secret final level? There are some glitches. I found one where it kept letting me play the Flappy Bird Rip-off minigame over and over without costing me any shells, regardless of if I won or lost. I ended up playing it so many times that I started receiving duplicates of his items (which DID seem to stack?). Fun bug, but a bug nonetheless.

Touch controls 👎. The game is an amazing sequel to “Enter the Gungeon” but where it lacks is in the touch controls. The most common problem I’ve had is my ability to use blanks they either go off randomly or they don’t activate when I intentionally click it, wasting these can ruin the whole run. I would be able to enjoy this game way more if I had the ability to customize controls or if there were more controller options. Some of my suggestions are adding a slider for movement, and the option to move the blank button, and finally adding a lock-on via tap instead of auto aim. I’m just going to wait until I get a controller that supports Bluetooth and then I can truly enjoy the game.

Great bones but marred by bugs. After spending more time with this game than any other Apple Arcade option it’s easy to say that it’s one of my most—and least—favorite games on offer. The concept is great and after getting used to the touch controls I didn’t experience them as an impediment. I like the various weapons, the bosses become more tolerable after multiple play throughs, and I feel a degree of mastery that comes from multiple play throughs. The problem is that this game is phenomenally buggy and seems to have been abandoned by the folks who made it. There are zero day bugs which still haven’t been resolved, many of the game mechanics don’t behave as they should, and it feels like the designers don’t care. Guns and power ups disappear after being purchased, forcing you to rebuy them. Vendors come and go at random, with no explanation. Hats still make no sense at all, and there’s no explanation offered for why they even exist. One particular mid-run encounter vendor offers unlimited tries for zero money, a bug SO OBVIOUS it really signals that the devs have abandoned this game. This game is fun, but very, very badly put together, which seems to be the hallmark of many Apple Arcade games. Until the bugs are addressed this is a 5 star game in a cloak of buggy misery.

Amazing Game, co-op please?UwU. This is an absolutely amazing game, and I love it very much. I love it so much that I, in fact, want my friends to play it. I love it so much that I want to play it while my friends are playing it. I love it so much I want to play it with my friends while they are playing it. Especially during COVID this would be a great feature and something I would literally pay cash money for, thanks for a great game!

Good but a few bugs. This game is awesome, it is a unique version of enter the gungeon, that I would suggest trying if you have or want Apple Arcade, but I did find a few bugs within the game itself and things that I would think could improve it, first bug is a big one, if you pause during a boss and unpause, I can’t tell but u might also need to turn phone off, but then when you unpause it makes the game super laggy and the boss goes invisible with all of its bullets, also you almost immediately die. The second bug is that twice I bought something from accusations department, it was fat bullets, and then I’d turn my phone off and when I hop on, I still can buy it but it didn’t give me my H$ back. Finally a improvement that I think is minor but could help, is during the one npcs Classical Game, being able to buy the camera farther behind the cannon, so you can shoot with more force without risking having ur hand go off the screen.

Wonderful. This might be one of the best game on Apple Arcade. It’s the next generation of the high-quality roguelike game Enter the Gungeon, inheriting fun backgrounds, great art style, creative weapons and items, good musics and so on. Although the number of items and weapons has been greatly reduced, the innovation and familiarity of the gameplay still makes me feel refreshed. Of course, there are still some problems in the game. 1. Sometimes the game is inevitable to get injured because of overwhelming enemies in a super small space, especially in elevators(unlike EnterTG, where the number of enemies and the size of the rooms are well-balanced). 2. Aiming assistance for gamepad, please.

Great concept, terrible controls.. I played about 20 minutes using the touch controls, and I thought “this seems okay, but it would be better with a controller.” So I dug out my MFi controller that I hadn’t used in a few years, but that massively changed how the game operated. No longer does the game pause to give you time to plan a dodge roll, and all of the button mappings were just stupid. A game that should play well with a controller, instead plays worse then with a touch screen. Fix controller support and it could be great.

Has a little something for everyone 😎. Seriously an excellent follow-up to enter the gungeon. My only real complaint is that there are times when the difficulty seems to disproportionately peak and the pacing seems relatively inconsistent due to that. I love the mechanics and gameplay introduced and I am so happy the gameplay is actually better and more challenging than the previous title. Great work to the dev team!

You can pet the dog. Pls play the game very good and very unique than most bullet hells but the best thing is YOU CAN PET THE DOG How to do it Get dog (best way by playing hunter) Go to shop Interact with dog Pet See that easy

I’m having the same problem as I eat unocards. For some reason the game doesn’t work on iPads it only works on iPhones for some reason because on iPad the continue and load game button will not show up and I can’t press where they were so it’s recommended that you use a phone to play this because that’s what usually works for me I hope this helped you👍

Extremely fun and entertaining!! But.... I’ve had to do the tutorial over and over because before I can finish it the game crashes or the game doesn’t proceed the dialogue. I’ve tried to go through the entire thing with no problems but it’s almost impossible I still haven’t passed through the tutorial yet. Extremely fun and addicting while it works but this game is pretty much unplayable until these frequent bugs and crashes get fixed.

So far so good. Please keep up the good work!

Terrible controls.. Absolutely amazing game once again from Devolver/Dodge Roll. Does not work well on mobile due to controls. Absolutely abhorrent, incoherent, prone-to-fail controls due to the limitations for touch screen. Totally ruins the experience. I recommend getting it on console or PC; it’s 5 stars then.

Great Game!. A wonderful game and sequel to an already great game. Good controls, story and content. The only problem I have encounter is that whenever I try to play as the soldier, when I get to the second elevator, no monsters will spawn. All the other characters work fine. This makes playing as the soldier beyond the first level. Apart from that, this is an amazing game

Umm. How do you play the game it just keeps me at the title screen

Boss glitches. I’ve found two glitches to do with bosses, one is that the boss disappeared when I paused and then unpaused, I don’t know it’s cause. The other is that in the pilot’s second stage I jumped off the platform right when the boss appeared, but I wasn’t there. The boss was still shooting, but I couldn’t shoot it and couldn’t take damage. Something to note is that the chancellor (he was the boss) was shooting downwards, under the platform. So maybe I was stuck there or something. Despite the glitches though, I’m having a lot of fun.

Amazing Game, But One Huge Issue. This game is amazing, from beginning to end. At least it would be, if I could FINISH the game. For some absurd reason, the game always crashes for me right when I am about to finish the last cutscene of the game after you beat the final boss. Right as I am about to get to the end cutscene, where you “Exit the Gungeon”, the game crashes and I am booted out. This always happens. Every. Single. TIME!! Aside from that, I love everything else about the game, the characters, sprites, sound effects, music, bosses, level design (except for a few but that’s just being nitpicky) and especially, THE GUNS! Each and every gun is unique and I love it. If only I could finish the game, I would have given the game a 5 star review, because it truly does deserve it.

Fun game but.... This game is an amazing game to play as a pass time or just a good game to play but we would like to have more like maybe more characters, guns and or the ability to choose the gun we want to use. Also adding more stages after the Dragun fight would make the game more fun, keep up the good work guys!

Amazing... IF played with a controller.. Touch controls bad haha. Aside from that, the game is really solid. In fact, I also own it on my Switch!

Amazing. Great game that I didn’t actually expect to find so fun, a great follow up from enter the Gungeon. It does need a few bug fixes but other than that it’s amazing

It’s a great game as long as you have a controller. If you don’t have a controller I don’t recommend this game because the touch controls are god awful and I don’t see them helping you get through to the end of this game. It’s the only reason why I’m giving it a 4/5. If you do have a controller though the games really good! Especially for returning fans of the series such as my self will love this game. I wish this game was on other platforms such as steam, PS4, switch or Xbox because I’d prefer it rather then draining my phone battery and playing it on a small screen with a controller. But until then I’ll be playing it on here.

Still pretty buggy, but great otherwise. I found that the game freezes every now and then, forcing you to reset your run, but I’m sure it will get fixed. I loved enter the Gungeon, and this is almost as good!

Can’t play. When I try to play it said there was a fatal error and I’ve tried everything like deleting it to resetting nothing worked

Great game but I have a bug report. In the elevator enemies keep getting stuck and I have to reset because I can’t shoot them in the elevator. It won’t end until the enemy is dead but I’m unable to do that as my character doesn’t detect the enemy. Sucks when your on the third elevator and you just have to restart or return to breach

Great game!. The switch from a top-down shooter to a platformer feels natural, and the bullet time is very helpful not just for slowing down time, but also for aiming jumps. Overall, amazing game, though brutally difficult

Don’t play with just touch controls. The timing of your moves is just never right when you’re using touch only. Get a controller.

More Gungeon awesomeness. Great to see a Gungeon sequel on here, really fun so far. Touch controls are reasonable, though I expect to play mainly on gamepad when the tvOS version becomes available

Very frequent crashes. Would give 5 stars if not for the crashes. iPhone 13 pro max, almost every instance of the game that I run it crashes at some point; sometimes it’s at the loading screen, sometimes it’s late into the game.

Buggy. Just lost 100 credits trying to buy the bird skin. If you talk to the snail, you have to close the app. The clone doesn’t work. Still fun, needs work though

Unplayable due to awful touch controls. I can’t understand why this game was rated so high? The small visuals, cluttered “omg so hard” bullet hell crap, and the god awful touch controls leave little to be desired.

WAYY too easy for a Gungeon game. Like, the game can be beat in like the second or third attempts with NO master rounds. wayy too easy for a gungeon game

buggy as hell or am i doing something wrong?. as soon as i get out of the first elevator and into the D-Pad shaped room, i kill the enemies and then I’m just stuck there, i can’t do anything

Great game!. Also please fix bug that freezes the game when buying the key

Bug. Kinda salty that I got stuck in the floor on the final boss

Very fun game. Touch screen controls where good too, even beat the final boss with them (and then my phone died in the ending scene D:) The only reason this is only 4 stars is because there so no way to freeze my game and come back later because being on a phone your more likely to start a run and pause it after a boss and then come back, not sit there on ur phone for 20 mins

Good. Difficulty is really high to start out though.

The Clone bug. Whenever i get the clone item it bugs out and doesn't give me a second life, but in general the game has been really fun and amazing!

Bad game. I cant even play it, i started with trying to do a run then im stuck

Fantastic game, includes game breaking bug. Whenever I try to buy the key from the rat, my game freezes and my run is ranked basically. This is the only issue with this game and otherwise its a masterpiece!

This game is hard. But fun. But hard but fun.. Yeah.

Game won’t start. I’m an avid gungeon player on console and was excited to find out I could play it on mobile just to find out I can’t. I open the game, and then that’s it. I just get stuck at the title screen. I’ve tried connecting a remote, redownloading it a few times, but nothing seems to work. Fantastic game on console so, please fix😕

Great Game!. Fun, action packed game. Recommend trying Enter the Gungeon before playing this game.

Super fun with some glitches. I had never played Enter the Gungeon but had heard of it. Going in as a newbie I find this game super fun and touchscreen controls super easy. Like the other reviews I have experienced some random glitching throughout the game which I’m hoping will be fixed.

DEVS PLEASE READ (not a waste of time!). this game is FANTASTIC, but there is one glitch that ruins it personally (somewhat). When i leave the game mid playing session the audio stops for some reason. if you could fix this glitch, the game would be even better. great job guys!

Pretty fun, but at the end a little disappointed. The game is really fun, from dodging bullets to an amazing final boss. But when I was about to beat the game for the second time, the game restarted even though I paused. I would really like a save feature so everytime you return to the app, you can go right back to your last spot!

Please add dual stick controls for touch!. Game plays decent, with a controller. Touch controls are awful. What I don’t understand is that the controller works like a dual stick shooter. Why can’t touch controls work the same way? There have been PLENTY of good dual stick shooters on touch. This game could be amazing if those type of controls were added for touch.

Great game, but really hard.. This game is the best game in Apple Arcade, but it’s soooo hard. I’ve managed to destroy the third boss, but I just don’t know how, or if it’s even possible, to EXIT THE GUNGEON. This game would be even better if it could just be a little easier. Thanks for making this amazing game.

Amazing game! But.... I’m absolutely addicted! This is an amazing game, and I’ve beaten the game with every character BUT the marine. The reason for this is that after beating boss 1, I become trapped in the elevator, with no enemies spawning. I love this and Enter the Gungeon, so it would be great if they could patch this.

Game persistence bug. Would rate higher if the game didn’t lose your progress when you background it. You need to restart your run even after switching apps for 10 seconds. Also, the game should load into the lobby and not prompt you to continue vs load, since you are meant to keep continuing to collect items between runs.

Fantastic. This is one of my favorites The touch controls for me work better than controller This is an extremely well done and ingenious interpretation of Enter The Gungeon for a touch screen device Still brutal and still incredibly fun and addictive I’m ready for the original game on mobile

Awesome!. In my opinion, hands down the best game in arcade. Been playing for since before the update. The only bug I’ve encountered is that the Untitled Gun doesn’t works after you get a power up, but other than that it’s really fun and addicting, would highly recommend

Bugs. I was excited for this game. I've played Enter the Gungeon for almost 200 hours. But this game has a few bugs. For a little while I couldn't open the app so I uninstalled it then reinstalled it. Now I can't collect items dropped from chests and sometimes I can't go through doors. I want to play this game but these bugs are preventing it. I'm using an iPhone X and haven't had problems with other arcade games.

Lag Lag Lag!. This game is sooo good and true to the original which is just as great. My only issue is while running on an iPhone X, the lag is so unbearable it begins to feel unplayable. I’m hoping for some better optimization in the future but for now, I think I’ll just wait and move on to a different game.

Bad Design Choices, otherwise Great. So yeah, the decision to have a randomly rotating gun was an absolute mistake by the devs. For me, 90% of the fun of games like these is exploring builds and synergies, impossible to do that when you can’t keep a decent weapon for more than 5 seconds. Which is a shame because the art direction, animations, movement, and combat is really really great

Great game that needs controller config settings. This is a pretty good port from PC, but the big thing that is keeping me from playing anymore on iPad is there is not controller configuration settings so you can’t change the buttons at all. That wouldn’t really be an issue but the only way to shoot on a Xbox controller is the right bumper! That is so awkward to control and play with considering your using other buttons too. This game would easily be 5 star if they had controller setting options.

Amazing!. Hands down, best game I’ve played on iOS. The controls are fluid, the graphics were right at home after playing Enter the Gungeon, and it’s down right challenging. If you’re looking for a solid arcade game for your phone, don’t pass this one up!!

Great game however…. Every time, and I mean EVERY time, when I minimize the game even just going to my home menu it immediately restarts my run, and it’s usually not that bad, but when I get some of the best combos, find clone and then head off to the dragun, and then I need to respond to a text it just sends me back to square one and that is INFURIATING to me

Good game. This is a good game, but there are some flaws with it. For example the game is pretty weird to control on mobile compared to when you play it on console. Second the game sometimes crashes and doesn’t save my data. The games good but the flaws ruin the experience.

I’m so disappointed 😔. I played enter the Gungeon and I loved it but this sucked. If you play arsenal mode you can get guns to keep but you can only have one? In enter the Gungeon you could have like ten! Why are the bosses so hard too? I thought this was going to be like a mobile version of enter the Gungeon but not at all. If anyone looks at this review, if you loved enter the Gungeon don’t get this.👎

Really Enjoying It. First, good job on that title. Very few sequels or spinoffs have a good idea wrapped up in the title. I loved Enter the Gungeon for how crazy it was and this is the same only now I’m trying to get out. Having fun with it however there seems to be an issue with it reading the correct buttons on a controller. I’m using a PS4 controller and when I went to change the mapping the wrong button appears. Probably a little thing but I thought I’d bring it up.

Well u see.... I think that maybe the cat boss needs to be toned down a little bit or I’m just trash 🤫 one or the other and it would be cool if multiplayer was added.

I need help!!!. This game is one of the best games on Apple Arcade but the game stoped Working😕it said (fatal error reading save file the app will now close)so I am really sad and I hope this is fixed but when I was able to play it was great so I hope this is fixed in the future

No controller needed. Everyone has said this game needs a controller. I disagree. Sure it takes a good many deaths to hone your skills but I used only touch controls and nearly had a perfect run in beast mode. Great game

Fun spinoff of an already great game. I doubt i will be purchasing Apple Arcade after my month trial is up, but I got the free trial solely so I could play this. I love the original game (though I barely made any progress), so it’s nice to play a game that’s slightly easier with similar mechanics.

GREAT game!. I’ve never written a review before, but this game is just SO much fun! It’s action-packed, the touch controls are smooth (I really appreciate the bullet time), and it has a great art style and soundtrack. It’s a game with a lot a heart and a charming sense of humor. Definitely check it out!

Anyone else. I try to open the game and I can watch the opening scene about the gungeon but I can’t play the game after that, I deleted and then reinstalled the game and I could play, then I turned the game off and I can’t play anymore

Incredible game that redefines mobile gaming. I was a huge fan of Enter the Gungeon. This sequel is an amazing improvement to the previous title. The movement, especially with a controller, feels extremely tight. The maps are creative, each offering a unique challenge, and the boss battles are rewarding as before.

Great but a power hog.. This is a fantastic mobile adaptation of the Gungeon experience, and is probably in the top ten launch games for Arcade. However, it drains the battery on my iPhone XS Max alarmingly fast- about 30% per hour regardless if I’m playing or have it sitting in the background. It’s still a standout game, I just hope it is better optimized in the future.

Such a great game.. but not enough content ;(. Absolutely a stunning game. Perfectly playable. I just wish there was more story to the game. Or maybe more levels. More characters maybe? More modes? Idk really. Just more content. But what IS there is very entertaining.

I love Gungeon but..... Great game. Continues the theme of Enter the Gungeon and all the crazy puns and antics. However, I am running on an iPhone X and it lags heavily when a lot is going on. Premise of a bullet hell game. This causes me to take unnecessary damage. Now, I’m upgrading soon to the iPhone 11 and I’ll update if there is anything else going on or the new chip makes it better. This game some though, is enough to warrant an Apple Arcade subscription!

A buggy sequel. I love enter the gungeon, and I got Apple Arcade just for the sequel, but I’m a little dissatisfied with how unpolished it feels. There are movement glitches, the “totally original game” sometimes costs no money, giving you infinite chests, some weapons are buggy like Casey. And on top of all of this, the game feels almost too easy. Honestly, I only hope that Dodgeroll fixes the bogs, then the game would at least be playable. In its current state months after release however, I feel it just disappoints compared to enter the gungeon.

DEVS PLEASEEEEEEE READ PLEASE!. DUDDDDE I LITERALLY FREAKIN LOVE THIS GAME NOCAP. when I got apple arcade XtG and bleak sword were immediately my first go-toos. BUT I LIKE THIS GAME SO MUCH THAT I HAD TO COP IT ON SWITCH. but I really only got it on switch because I THOUGHT THERE WOULD BE VIBRATION SUPPORT!!! man man mannn I’m tellin you if there was just a bit of rumble when I use the tentacle gun or literally any gun THAT WOULD BE SO SICK!! forreal. hey I’m just suggesting u know. Your guy’s cake looks awesome but it’d taste better if it just had some icing ontop. 🥹 - ur local multi-universal homie chris.

No tutorial, cant open boxes, no explanation whatsoever.. Ive never seen a game which explains nothing. The game does not even explain simple movements, items nor controls. Currently I’m stuck looking at a chest, which I cannot open. Ive tried jumping on it, moving around it, double tapping on it. Nothing opens the chest and the game just sits there and nothing progress. The game is completely broken and is not functioning.

Bad tutorial. I would be very far into the game if I wasn’t busy showing that the bluets in the blank tutorial were possible to doge which is true by the way you just made it so that if dogged them that tutorial would would be reset.

How do you use items?. This games is like the only mobile game that’s insanely good, but im having trouble finding how to use items you collect throughout an attempt. Nevertheless, its the best game everrrrrr SLAY GURLIE

I can’t play at all. So I got the game expecting a LOT w/ what enter the Gungeon was. I was quickly disappointed by the fact that the game says “the game center if has changed” though I’ve never changed my game center I’d then it says “ there’s been a fatal error and the game will now close” . It let my play once out of all of the many times I tried but when I did get to play however was SOOOOOOO fun I will agree w/ most people in the fact you basically have to play w/ a controller. Thank you

Little bug. This game is grate and is flawless but there’s a little bug in the balloon stage where dodge rolling without a controller is glitchy. Basically you hold the screen to dodge roll but instead of slowing time, it decides to not slow time and kind of ‘lag’ out. Please fix this because it is very annoying.

Love it, here’s something I think you should add.... I think that this game is amazing, but I feel like it would be even better if the order you get the master rounds in was 5,4,3 etc. because you are exiting the gungeon, so it would make a little more sense I guess

I need help, I like the game but stuck can anybody help me?. I am not under standing what to do. Every time I go into a run and make all the way thorough I never know what to do, so I just quit and do it again! I like the game, but I just need to know what to do next because it is unclear. And if you are able to anybody please help me figure this out.

Getting very polished. Exit the Gungeon is a great adaptation of the original to a mobile interface. I’m happy to see it’s getting some more attention to the look and feel.

Xbox controller settings are terrible. Not possible to change control settings. Shoot is on the right bumper and jump is on both A and the left trigger. Doesn’t make any sense – the main two buttons are basically controlled by thumb and forefinger basically right next to each other, and it makes no sense. Please add a settings screen for changing these, or at least adding a mapping that matches other games. See Dead Cells for an example of an excellent controller configuration done on iOS.

Doesn’t take much skill.... It’s a mildly entertaining way to kill a few minutes, but it doesn’t really go anywhere that I can tell. Any power-ups you get don’t last for long, and the bosses are WAY too hard. I’ve played maybe 20-30 games, and I’ve beaten a boss level maybe five times. In one game I killed two. It isn’t clear what you get when you free the prisoners, and the rewards they give you don’t last for very long. Basically, this is a game of dodge ball. It’s OK if you want to kill a little time, but there’s really not much here.

Great game except for a minor glitch. I absolutely love this game. Everything about it is great. However this is one slight bug that can sometimes be very annoying. Sometimes when I drag my finger to do a doge roll the arrow that tells me we’re I’ll land disappears. It comes back once I die or go back to the lobby. Other than that it’s a great game. Keep up the great work!

Love the series. I’m enjoying the game for my quick gungeon fix. I’m experiencing game freezes during some dialogue and other times. Or sometimes guns won’t fire or hav animation. But when it’s running well it’s a solid game. Kinda wish it didn’t feel so confined and having randomized weapons is only is a bit restricting. But it’s still very fun and comical. Hoping House of the Gundead can reach consoles someday *nudge nudge* :)

Fun Game, Terrible UI. At no point does the game ever explain that you need to swipe up specifically on the far left side of the screen to interact with npcs or objects. Felt really stupid trying to figure out how to just start a run. It also does not explain there is a quick start button in the settings menu. Initially when I downloaded the game I deleted it because there was no indication of why I couldn’t start the game. Horrible design. Once you figure out how to start the game it’s fine.

Gungeon distilled.. I only played ETG after playing this for many hours, and XTG is an incredible mobile adaptation of those core design principles in my opinion. It’s different enough that some people may not like it, and playing with a controller is probably mandatory but with iOS supporting consoles controllers that’s not much of an issue. I love it, and dodge roll has gained a loyal fan.

Best game on Apple Arcade. I see a bunch of complaints on the controls, but once you understand them and get them down it’s soooooo fun! I loved enter the Gungeon, and I still love this, even though it plays very differently. So so fun and love all the hidden content.

Need to squash some bugs. During the medusaleer fight, if you pause and press play, she either disappears and lags the freak out until you close the app or restart your run. Or, she disappears and you take damage until you die. Also I could literally walk right through the enemy bullets one run. Squash the bugs guys!

Fun, but frustrating. When I downloaded this game I had high expectations, but I soon came to be disappointed because whenever I finished a stage, it took me to the rest area, and there were only three doors to use, I would only be able to play three times and then have to restart. It’s very frustrating because I haven’t seen it happen to other people, if someone could help me I would really appreciate it.

Great game, but touch controls need more options. I love Enter the Gungeon and I love hard shooter/platformers like the Contra series and Cuphead. I was really excited for this. Unfortunately, for a game that requires fine precision with movement, the ‘relative’ left/right movement doesn’t cut it, and the jumping can be really awkward too because swiping ignores your L/R momentum. If/when they add fixed buttons or slides for movement and an option for jumps and drops to carry your sideways momentum this will be an instant 5 star game.

Lives Up to the Original. This game did an amazing job with recapturing the challenge, determination and suspense that Enter the Gungeon did. It used the same charming graphics, characters & format that made us obsessed with its predecessor. I had always wished for a DLC, spin- off or final final update, and then I saw this game in an advertisement. Thank you Dodgeroll and everybody else who worked on this pocket- size masterpiece.

Exit the Gungeon Game Customer Service, Editor Notes:

Patch 2.1.0 contains two major features which dramatically impact gameplay. Both of these features were influenced by player feedback, and we’d appreciate further feedback moving forward. Arsenal Mode: a new toggleable game mode in which weapons will be available as loot as well as for purchase in shops. Any number of these weapons can be held in addition to the Blessed gun, and can be used at any time. These additional carried guns have limited ammunition, which can be replenished by finding ammo pickups (exclusively in Arsenal Mode). This mode was designed to be more reminiscent of Enter the Gungeon’s gun management. Shop Hubs: Bello’s shop has been expanded and now can be accessed twice per floor, allowing players more choice over when and how to spend their currency. This shop replaces the normal mid-floor room, in addition to its normal appearance after the boss. The shop has several doors to optional combat and NPC rooms that can be explored for loot or skipped. This should result in an overall increase in itemization for players who explore all rooms, as well as providing a source for weapon drops when playing in Arsenal Mode. Other New Features: A new optional boss, the Glocktopus A new NPC, the Ledge Goblin, and her minigame As is tradition, several new guns and items You can now pet the dog
