Sit on the throne as a benevolent (or malevolent) medieval monarch of the modern age and swipe your royal fingers either left or right to impose your will upon the kingdom. Survive the seemingly never-ending gauntlet of requests from your advisors, peasants, allies, and enemies while maintaining balance between the influential factions of your kingdom. But beware; each decision you make might have implications and unfortunate consequences down the road that could put your reign and family’s dynasty at risk!
Each year of your reign brings another important – seemingly random – request from your unpredictable kingdom as you strive for balance between the church, the people, the army, and the treasury. Prudent decisions and careful planning make for a long reign but unforeseen motivations, surprise events, and poor luck can take down even the most entrenched monarch. Extend your reign as long as possible, forge alliances, make enemies, and find new ways to die as your dynasty marches along through the ages. Some events will span on centuries, with an intrigue involving burning witches, scientific enlightenment, wicked politics and, maybe, the Devil himself.

Would love to play additional content. Been dying for it!!
I love this game it’s so addictive and fun! I’ve lasted 42 years so far and am hoping to get even farther! The only thing I would consider changing is make it so that you know how much of each items you have currently, other than that it is a fantastic game!
Really odd... go to check a text message mid-game... come immediately back and game reloads. No save spot? Should still be in memory. iPhone XR. Fix, please.
I’ve loved this game ever since I first bought it. The concept is awesome and it really makes you think. I’d recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a game.
What is there is fine, but you'll get bored after an hour or two. Cards repeat. As for the storyline and puzzle for many endings-- it's kind of convoluted and the main game is not enjoyable enough to warrant playing through enough times to solve the endings. Wish they'd spent more time on main game content.
This is a game where you swipe right or left and I have no idea how it works. So far I’ve not had much fun. One review mentioned how it’s random, and I hoped that these random things would make for interesting choices. Nope, it’s just random. Going to ask for a refund.
This game is great, but the app gets old after a week of play. I loved this game, but I wish that there was more detailed endings. Also, is there even a way to beat the devil??
It’s a fun game for the first hour. Making choices and seeing the new cards is great. But after that it’s like the most repetitive game I’ve ever played. So much so that I don’t even read the outcome, I have them all memorized so my 70 year reigns take me 3 to 4 minutes... good game, not worth 3.00 unless there are more cards added.
Overall a fun game. I have reached the "end" in Reigns and find it a bit frustrating that if you mess up once you basically have no chance of getting at the good ending, since after you meet the devil for the last time you are set onto 3 paths only if you set yourself onto them beforehand which takes up a lot of time). So what I'm trying to say is, it takes too much time and luck to set yourself up to the good ending (ending not death). Mess up once and you have to restart the whole game from year 1998-2000 something all the way to the 600's, where you have to work your way up and make strategically randomized choices in the dungeon. I think after you beat the game once you should be able to travel back to the 1800's or the 1900's with no special boosts or any cool quests unlocked.
Bug: discover a new world is impossible if you exit the app just as you discover the new world. I’ve discovered a new world a few times now but the first time I had to unexpectedly shut the app just as my explorer told me about the new land.
I declined the opportunity to reset. I think I might have to delete the game and reinstall it. If that’s the case I will be very mad. Please fix it I beg of you.
Another classic from Devolver. Easy to pick up, swipe left or right to make decisions and try to maintain balance in your kingdom.
This game has such humor and creativity, which achieves so much with so little, I’m not going add much constructive feedback, i just think this game is amazing
Great game I love it, but sometimes when I swipe a certain direction, it takes me to the opposite direction. Like when I swipe ‘yes’, it sometimes goes to ‘no’.
Essentially this is a memory card game which adds the spice of wickedly funny (and dark) humour while satirising the whole "kings and kingdoms" genre playfully. There is (as many detractors note) a strong element of luck in the game and you can do everything right and still have your king get it in the neck. Still, it is possible to turn the tide in your own favour and it's a real sense of achievement when you manage to get your king to a 'natural death'. Brilliant.
I've played and it's not long lasting, when you reach certain parts and decisions it become hard to understand it's almost like you're reading gibberish.
This game is great and I’m thrilled that they’re making another just like it - Reigns: Her Majesty - I hear that it’s coming out soon! Can’t wait!
I was sick of buying rehashed games and rubbish. This is very entertaining!
This game is wonderfully crafted and has witty humour 5 stars
I spent all of my pocket money on this game and it glitches out my iPad! I can't even play it! You are an absolutely horrible game, I am disappointed in this and I believe that you should make it work if you charge such a huge amount of money for this!
So I got this as a recommendation from a friend, but it was not worth my money! Contrary to popular belief, your choices DO have consequences in this game, and the cards can seem random at times but there is a subtle storyline in it. Would not recommend for kids under 12 as there is some language from some of the characters and several of the characters are... suggestive... in nature. Also, I finished this with about 9 hours of gameplay; it’s too short, and once you’re done, that’s that. Overall, fun game, I enjoyed the challenge, but it should’ve been free 😕
If you are a history nerd like me, then you will love this game. It just brings a whole new feel of luck and making sure your king doesn’t die.i have been playing for a month and i am still addicted. I have a suggestion for a massive update for the future. I think you should be able to enter a new era like the renaissance or the modern ages. Like I said this is just awesome.
There is a storyline if you pay attention, but it’s hard to figure out, and when you do you still have to play a few rounds before you get to make the next meaningful decision. It’s a good game, and I don’t regret buying it: but be prepared to pay attention, and be patient.
I’m in my second kingdom and i just met the barbarian and I’ve entered a loop. No matter what I do It keeps giving me the same options. Everything I do it says it charms the barbarian and I’m not telling the translator guy to leave. It clearly is making me do something that hurts my kingdom in some way which is bs. Clearly why have set it up so you can’t get past a certain amount of years until you have died a certain amount of times. I wish I could get my money back since clearly the decisions you make don’t even matter.
Some of the cards are offensive. In one of them, from a male courtier early on, the description is that he “likes being face down, if you know what [he] means.” Next seg nudge wink wink?! I’m not sure what the merit is of having that failed “joke” in there.
It took me a while to understand this game, and truthfully I didn’t commit to paying 3 dollars for it for many months and only played it on my friend’s phone. It took observing him understanding the consequences, story, goals, and progress for me to become invested. It seems empty and bland, but it takes noticing small changes and remembering conversations to understand the plot. And yes, it is HEAVILY effected by the player’s decisions. (It has three endings based on those decisions; it really has four if you count never figuring it out as an ending) By the end I was heartbroken I couldn’t play any more. This game is not for everyone but for those who do enjoy it will be completely enchanted.
When I was asked to rate it and said yes it boosted my stats to anarchy and I lost kek
I’m not sure why anyone is giving this game a bad review. The pictures and description tell you exactly what to expect from this game. The more cards you unlock, the more vast your story can become. You will ALWAYS die no matter what. That’s the point of the game. HOWEVER, you can rule wisely and die of old age. That is how you “beat” the game so to speak. My advice is quit being so serious and enjoy the satire. This game is supposed to be comical and once again, you are SUPPOSED to die. I think it’s worth the price.
First off this is a great game with a surprising amount of depth for what it is. A real gem. I would love if you guys could figure out a way to make it work with the watch. Would be so amazing for quick plays while waiting around for a minute or two and not wanting to pull your phone out. There's so few good games for the watch and this would be a great addition.
this is not a pick your own adventure kind of thing. you just pick the response you think will best affect the 4 things (idek what to call them). however, it's so hard to tell if the answer will positively or negatively affect them. I thought maybe once I played it a while I would understand it better but nope it's still just as confusing. its nice visually but that doesn't make up for it's unplayability. huge waste of money.
Simple game but good fun. The randomness can be a little frustrating though!
Random gameplay, often impossible to know what's going on. Save your money.
Its a fun game but every 4 tries after i die it wont load so i have to turn off the game and it resets my progress from that round.
Decent game, will pass a few hours. A bit repetitive at times, and the price is steep for the content.
Was loving this game then I turn it back on and I'm told my save file was corrupted and now I'm back to the start
I love this game especially as a time waster- needs some new cards added soon but still worth the money!
Interesting game, something new and original. But it gets boring with time, same dialogue each time. It's worth trying though.
It's a game that's simple to play. But damn is it deep. It's so much fun.
Exceptional game. Love the story line and how you learn from each King!! 5 stars👏🏻👏🏻 I found a bug in the game. When you are in game and you pull up the menu on the bottom. You find a high score button which brings you to the Game Center page. (I was laying down, so my phone went into landscape mode but the game stayed in portrait. You can't change it back to portrait. So you have to quit out of the game. Please fix it. It's a nuisance. Thanks. B
Simple but super addictive and fun. Would like more content but still great!
