Sit on the throne as a benevolent (or malevolent) medieval monarch of the modern age and swipe your royal fingers either left or right to impose your will upon the kingdom. Survive the seemingly never-ending gauntlet of requests from your advisors, peasants, allies, and enemies while maintaining balance between the influential factions of your kingdom. But beware; each decision you make might have implications and unfortunate consequences down the road that could put your reign and family’s dynasty at risk!
Each year of your reign brings another important – seemingly random – request from your unpredictable kingdom as you strive for balance between the church, the people, the army, and the treasury. Prudent decisions and careful planning make for a long reign but unforeseen motivations, surprise events, and poor luck can take down even the most entrenched monarch. Extend your reign as long as possible, forge alliances, make enemies, and find new ways to die as your dynasty marches along through the ages. Some events will span on centuries, with an intrigue involving burning witches, scientific enlightenment, wicked politics and, maybe, the Devil himself.

I don’t want to spoil too much about the game in case you know nothing, but it’s great. Just...better to enter it with a mindset where you’re prepared to laugh at yourself/your failures. If you can do that, I think you’ll love it
While the idea of the game is really quite solid, I find myself wishing there was more to it for the price. I keep getting the pop-ups between kings that advertise the spin off variants of this game which makes me feel like instead of putting more time into updating this game, they might have abandoned making any content for it in favor of creating more variants and reselling the game. Just know this game will become repetitive and isn’t designed to last for many hours. If you are looking for a quick, digestible game and are considering it, this sounds like the game for you.
This game has some interesting aspects but you don't really have a lot of control of what happens through your choices; One game, I decided I would just swipe left, no matter what, and I set a high score.
I love it!!
I’ve been playing for a while and i absolutely love it! The only problem i have is with saving my progress. The game only saves after the king has died. Please add a way to save your progress mid-reign.
Love this game so much! It’s great for someone who’s into old European history!! Honestly l just wished that as time moved on, real life events would happen in the game (Industrial Revolution, Introduction of Modern Technology, etc.). I really enjoy trying to achieve all the titles and meet every character in the game. Thanks for making it!
I don’t understand how people love this game. It gets interesting for a while but eventually you see the same cards and tricks and it becomes kind of mute. Not happy at all. Would like a refund. Don’t think it was worth it.
I love this game and I have bought the other 2 games as a result. Each one is different in a good way than other. This complaint may be very rude and more of suggestion but I think it should be on the Apple Watch because it seems like a game that would be great for it. Sorry if this is rude. I love reigns and no hard feelings.
This game is fun and I want to come back. Enough said.....(not yet) Heres a suggestion: have important historical events or references during the game. Ex: its 1945, someone could say, “ The war is finally over sir!” Or maybe you could have an option to send troops over to a real life conflict-It would be cool when you catch them and even take part of. Course you would have to make up your own after the current year but nonetheless it would be fantabular. Yes. Fantabular. Thanks for reading my review 😃
Amazing game that I love to come back to time and time again.
I declined the opportunity to reset. I think I might have to delete the game and reinstall it. If that’s the case I will be very mad. Please fix it I beg of you.
Another classic from Devolver. Easy to pick up, swipe left or right to make decisions and try to maintain balance in your kingdom.
This game has such humor and creativity, which achieves so much with so little, I’m not going add much constructive feedback, i just think this game is amazing
Great game I love it, but sometimes when I swipe a certain direction, it takes me to the opposite direction. Like when I swipe ‘yes’, it sometimes goes to ‘no’.
Essentially this is a memory card game which adds the spice of wickedly funny (and dark) humour while satirising the whole "kings and kingdoms" genre playfully. There is (as many detractors note) a strong element of luck in the game and you can do everything right and still have your king get it in the neck. Still, it is possible to turn the tide in your own favour and it's a real sense of achievement when you manage to get your king to a 'natural death'. Brilliant.
I've played and it's not long lasting, when you reach certain parts and decisions it become hard to understand it's almost like you're reading gibberish.
This game is great and I’m thrilled that they’re making another just like it - Reigns: Her Majesty - I hear that it’s coming out soon! Can’t wait!
I was sick of buying rehashed games and rubbish. This is very entertaining!
This game is wonderfully crafted and has witty humour 5 stars
I spent all of my pocket money on this game and it glitches out my iPad! I can't even play it! You are an absolutely horrible game, I am disappointed in this and I believe that you should make it work if you charge such a huge amount of money for this!
This game requires a lot of random swiping left and right. It gets repetitive since you can’t control what happens. There is a loose plot but most decisions are random. There’s not even instructions about how to play. I felt this was a waste of time.
GREAT GAME YUM YUM SKELETON ROOM= torch+fire+arsenic+wall+pentagram+devil
...and a lot of fun. Don’t expect this to be a straight-forward game and you’ll probably have a lot of fun. Unless you’re a sour-puss, like certain reviewers here...
I've seen this game before a few other times, and I got curious, so I bought it. Ever since the first swipe, I loved this game. It looks straightforward, but there is so many things you can do, and a very interesting story, especially when you go for the good ending. I won't spoil anything about the story but I will say that you will need some paper to write on if you go for the good ending. The humor is great, and it has some pretty funny moments. (Like the Dragon cards) I've beaten this game about six times and I know how to get Excalibur, the good ending, and most of the achievements. I love the fencing mechanic, and the great insults during the fight. And by the way, there are about 29 deaths in the game, and I have discovered 27 of them. It will take a while to 100% complete, but it's a good achievement. I would recommend this to anybody with a few dollars and thinks this game looks interesting.
I got bored in 10 mins. It doesn’t involve that much strategy. The plot is not funny either.
This is a massive waste of money. It should be a free game because it has no point, no continuity, no rewards and most importantly, no fun! I feel cheated for buying it. I wish I could get a refund. I don’t see how this piece of garbage game won the awards they claim it did.
This game had such great reviews, I decided to give it a try, but it's quite tedious and repeditive. It's simply a series of binary choices and really mundane objectives. It's akin to a text based game from the 80's, but far less interesting. And it has this really odd obsession with the devil. Save your money and your time, this game is a real stinker.
Ill tell you what this game is, its a bunch of random questions that make no sense. Its not an rpg, there is no story. You juggle meters that move up or down depending on how you answer the questions. Game is over if one of the meters gets too low. Its boring and i deleted it after a couple plays.
The game has arbitrary consequences that don’t make sense as you play. There is no really story line. Additionally, I believe this game is homophobic. If you end up in a homosexual relationship the consequences that follow force you to be killed each time.
Please bring this to the Apple Watch. PLLLLEEEAAASSEEEEEE. It would be perfect!!!!
Simple game but good fun. The randomness can be a little frustrating though!
Random gameplay, often impossible to know what's going on. Save your money.
Its a fun game but every 4 tries after i die it wont load so i have to turn off the game and it resets my progress from that round.
Decent game, will pass a few hours. A bit repetitive at times, and the price is steep for the content.
Was loving this game then I turn it back on and I'm told my save file was corrupted and now I'm back to the start
I love this game especially as a time waster- needs some new cards added soon but still worth the money!
Interesting game, something new and original. But it gets boring with time, same dialogue each time. It's worth trying though.
It's a game that's simple to play. But damn is it deep. It's so much fun.
Exceptional game. Love the story line and how you learn from each King!! 5 stars👏🏻👏🏻 I found a bug in the game. When you are in game and you pull up the menu on the bottom. You find a high score button which brings you to the Game Center page. (I was laying down, so my phone went into landscape mode but the game stayed in portrait. You can't change it back to portrait. So you have to quit out of the game. Please fix it. It's a nuisance. Thanks. B
Simple but super addictive and fun. Would like more content but still great!
