Fantastic game. This game, though it was short, was absolutely incredible. My only problem is that the hidden ending that is supposed to trigger after getting an excellent rating in all levels, does not seem to work

Breathtaking.. I NEVER write reviews let alone 5 star. The music was the greatest. I don’t even listen to this type of music, I love rock, but this captivated my every being for a solid hour. The music really transported you to that world and made you feel the heart ache, the excitement, the INTENSITY! Astounding game, those university students have amazing careers ahead of them if they don’t already. I’m downloading every one of these soundtracks if I can find them.

Breathtaking. This is hands down one of the best mobile game experiences I’ve had. It’s short but sweet and the end was just awesome. Maybe the creators will get to make more sweet little nuggets like this because I would definitely play them.

Loved it!. Everything about this game was great. From the music to the colorful backgrounds and storytelling. The compendium was a great way to add in more facts and details about the history of shaman culture and that of the local people. The game is amazing and even more so that it was made by students in five months and this was their first game. I can’t wait for more amazing games in the future

This rocks!!!. OH MY GOODNESS!!! There is nothing else to say. This game is one of the best musical games I have been able to find!! This is almost better than lost in harmony, except for the fact there is only five levels! I agree with the other guy, if there was more of this I think anyone would pay for it!

Outstanding game!. Ive never been one to leave a review but this game really takes the cake. I originally downloaded it because I enjoy rhythm based games, but I got SO much more. Learning about the legend and the beautiful meanings behind the symbols really made me stop and think. The only downside is there are only 5 breath taking levels. I hope the developers make more games like this in the future! Maybe do DLC of other legends? I would pay a good amount of money to play that.

Absolutely incredible. I am currently graduating with a degree in CS and I am blown away by this app. The artwork is brilliant and the culture is truly put on display. The gameplay paired with music is genius and I have the utmost respect for all of the developers who grinded in their 5 months of creating this beautiful game :)

Instant favorite. This is probably one of the best free games that I have heard played. Not only was the gameplay simple it was a real challenge for those who are casual. To top off the wonderful gameplay the soundtrack is absolutely astonishing. It tells a story simply by hearing the magical music.

Amazing. This game is amazing and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I loved it please please add more levels in a future update. You could make other stories about Nishan rescuing people. The boss fight was defiantly the best level in the game it was really fun.

Amazing. I was amazed at the beautiful graphics and music. Though there are only five levels, one must play until all of them are excellent to unlock the secret ending. I still have not gotten quite so far, but I love the game and applaud the developers for making such an excellent game!

STUNNING. This game is not new, we have had many rhythm games and there will be many more! However, what you get is one of the most beautiful games for FREE. The best part of this game is not the art but the soul that you can see the students put into this story. Simple, elegant, and in lieu of a better descriptor stunning. Amazing work!

Incredibly innovative stunning and informative. I love both rhythm and story based games and it’s hard to find a game that can effectively pull off both- but this game does it! Even though it’s not an English language game the information and subtitles allows you to understand what’s going on perfectly! I love the innovative gameplay mechanic and how it compliments the stunning visuals that directly play into the story. It’s also deceptively hard in the amount of syncopation required even early on. Plus the informative section of the game really ties it all together- I personally love when games tie into different mythologies. And the score is incredible!

Something Very Special. I’m usually not a huge fan of music games, nor a Sinophile, I don’t usually write reviews and when I do, they’re NEVER anywhere near this long, but this game is truly something special. I was absolutely mesmerized and enchanted from the opening sequence to the end of the heart-breakingly few levels. I enjoy mythology themed games, and this definitely falls into that category. The story is beautiful, the music is powerful, the scenery transporting. The art creates the epitome of a mythological, magical realm. The spirits are beautifully stylized and ephemeral, with just a hint of creepiness. The way that the patterns from your drum interact with the music let’s you be involved in its creation and creates a connection between the art, the artist, and the player. Excellent replay value trying to fill the Compendium as well.

Amazing Music Game. This is hands down one of the best games I’ve played on the iPhone. It’s also one of the greatest rhythm and music games I’ve ever seen. The simplicity fools you, it can get very difficult. The songs are amazing and the art is perfection. Well put together game!!

Where’s the Hidden ending?. I beat the game very quickly and did enjoy it but when I noticed there was a secret ending I worked to get excellent on all of the levels. After getting excellent I could not trigger the hidden ending so I got all of the achievements and still no hidden ending. Is the hidden ending hidden somewhere in one of the levels or is your game broken. I’ve noticed that out of your sixty some reviews, there was one with the same problem as me. Can you PLEASE fix this bug.

Great Game! 😍😍. I absolutely loved this game! Although it was a little short, Some of the parts did come off as a challenge especially the last level. So if you’re into a challenge their ya go. Beautiful little game. I ran across this game scrolling through my phone. What an unexpected delightful. It is beautiful to look at and fairly easy to play. The one down side is you can’t really appreciate what’s going on in the game background while playing. It is, however, meant to be played repeatedly so one can gain all of the icons and learn more about ancient Manchurian culture. I hope these young people fulfill their promise of more games to come!

It’s also the first time I’ve felt this overjoyed by a game since the apple store was released. These developers are talented. Wow. Love the game reminds me of taiko drumming. Please add more a lot more cause it was way way too short of game play. And it was really easy. But the game looks beautiful. Love it. We want more now! I’ll add the 5th star when we get more levels or a non stop mode or something. Awesome make one where it’s like the arcade dummer game taiko with music from Asia and keep it to two finger gameplay and you’ll have a huge hit on your hands. Mind blowing game by a few students. This has to be one of the greatest games done by students! The music, the animation, and the story is all filled with Chinese culture. Though the Shaman culture is nearly lost and forgotten, a team of talented musicians and animation artists brought it back to live. I love this game for both the culture and the astonishing level of detail. Bravo! This game is extremely well made. Tencent should really invest in more of these games and continue to work with these young talents.

Atmospheric and beautifully simple. This is definitely a case of quality over quantity- it’s short, which probably explains why it’s free, but if it were longer I’d gladly pay a couple bucks for the game. It’s educational to boot! Gameplay, music, and design are all perfect for mobile. An issue I have is with the last level, which includes an achievement that requires “getting manchurian paper cuttings that bounce off Nishans shield” but there’s no obvious way to do this. It also claims that getting an excellent score on all levels will unlock a hidden ending but it does not seem to trigger.

Not a challenge but beautiful enough. I just played this game and mastered it under an hour. I am a musician and I hoped for more challenges in the game. The game has a beautiful story and graphics. If it had more Acts I would have been more satisfied with it but for it is involved with exotic, folklore and complex rhythmic figures I am satisfied enough.

Very addicting!!. Nishan Shaman has got to be one of the best musical games I have ever played. Once I started playing, I couldn’t stop until I’ve achieved and completed them all, not to mention that it was also very fun to play. Not only that but the music was beyond beautiful to the ear. This game is a work of art. Can’t wait to see more!

Amsolutely incredible. I would much prefer if there were more levels to this game. The graphics were amazing and story telling was engaging. Not once have I written a review for a game on this magnitude and I am very pleased with what this game had had to offer. I loved how the music from the drum melded with the background music. All in all an engaging experience.

A level bug. The game is great. Love the history and the story of the game. It’s a very unique rhythm game and it reminds me a lot of patapon. My issue is that in the level where Nishan has only minimal health left, there’s a bug. I’ll tap the screen at the right time but it won’t be counted. Instead it just takes her life this leaving me unable to continue on.

Truly, an amazing experience. This game’s soundtrack was extremely powerful and moving and the simplistic rhythm gameplay made it a very short and sweet experience. It’s very entertaining, the story was compelling and it was artistic to the very core. You can beat this game in a single sitting and it’s not obtuse, so really there’s no reason for you to not at least try it, especially if you enjoy Chinese folklore as much as myself.

Amazing and artistic masterpiece of culture. I learned so much about Northern Chinese culture that I never would have known about and I learned in an amazing artistic and musical way, this really blew me away in terms of the art style and music. The game is rather short but as a completionist I’ll definitely replay stages to finish the compendium so I can learn even more about this fascinating culture. Clearly lots of passion and amazing design went into this game and it couldn’t be any other way.

Fun rhythm game. Only 5 levels long, but very fun to play. I tend to skip story lines but what I did read of this one was interesting, but the rhythm of hitting the drum and the cool songs made this worth it. I’m hoping the team that made this will continue to build levels for it as I would love to keep playing. Art style is beautiful, like a storybook come to life.

I personally encourage everyone to download the game to experience the beauty of culture and their music. Only downsides are the game can be beaten in roughly 10 minutes, and the difficulty of the game could increase.

proud of Chinese culture but shame of ….🤫. This game was completed by six Chinese university graduates with no production experience ，in five months at all. It shows the shamanic culture of northern China. Unfortunately, the game was taken down in China for religious reasons. What a sad and fragile way for a country who is keen on talking about its cultural confidence. Feel so sorry for China's bright and long history and rich national culture.

A high quality game. Nishan is more than just a musical game. It’s a showcase of old Chinese culture that has been nearly forgotten. The music is absolutely beautiful and inspiring, along with the storyline and artwork. The artwork reminds me of games like Monument Valley and is pretty awesome and engaging. I’m happy and surprised I was able to get this for free.

Awesome Music Rhythm Game. I really enjoyed the game. My only critique is it is WAY TOO SHORT. Just when you start to get the hang of it. Your skill levels increases, you are ready for more... then the game ends. Maybe more levels in the future but overall I loved it.

Woahhhh. This is amazing! I don’t normally play rhythm games because I’m very very bad at them, but the amazing art drew me to this one. I love how it incorporates cultural art, music and folklore so beautifully! I’m still on the 2nd level (curse my bad rhythm sense, but hey it’s only been one day) but definitely give this game a try. Secret ending. There is supposed to be a secret ending if you get excellent rating on all the levels which I did and was given the shaman thing for but I did not notice anything different from the original ending ???? Very confused
