Fun match 3 with no hand holding. This match 3 rpg/city builder comes with no instructions. Don't want to spoil anything, but pay attention to the sky. Would give 5 stars if game had an ending...

Buggy. "Buggy" is an accurate word for this game. The crashing. The way the puzzle will not load properly. This feels like a rushed project. The game is okay when you get the hang of it. But you don't get any useful information from the game. You have to google it. It's not an expensive game and somehow the asking price feels like more than it is worth.

I always appreciate it when I come across one that does. It's like Christmas. This is a great quick fix game. If you like matching puzzle's like candy crush/zombie-ish creatures and you only have five minutes, this is the one. It's simple enough to learn and clever enough to keep you interested. I've got to give these developers a thumbs up for originality and the humor in it as well. Thanks guys and keep up the good work I'm a huge fan!

Lots of bugs. I tried restarting multiple times but the game would crash at Day 2 over and over again.

Uniquely deep adventure match game. The bad: no tutorial but there is a great Reddit on how to play and strategy. The ugly: There is the occasional bugs that cause a restart. The fantastic: Incredibly deep strategy between day and night transitions, resource collection and fighting. Wonderful hidden gem on the app store. Great for anyone liking strategy RPG. Difficulty is perfect when the hidden strategies are learned.

Not worth paying for. I grabbed this after glowing reviews and I'm pretty disappointed. The reviews mislead me into thinking there was more depth. It's apparently just another dull matching game with crap graphics and no real story or hook to keep it interesting for long at all.

Addictive Progression. Day 26. Love the game. Can't stop playing it. I like the day/night cycle mechanic and how the choices you make in one can impact the next. I like the original Gridland and this is a massive improvement. Well done.

Needs work. The health bar needs to either be below the tiles; or some visual alert and reaction time buffer when it is critically low. There are some bugs with invisible tiles forcing an app quit. The audio needs variation.

Worthwhile. It's a strategic match 3 along the lines of You Must Build a Boat, which I enjoyed about the same amount. It gets a bit repetitive by the end, but overall it's good entertainment for the few hours needed to win.

Crashes or hangs too easily. Not worth buying till issues are resolved.

Not as strong as A Dark Room. If you like match3 games in the style of you must build a boat, you might find this game scratches an itch. But right now, the mechanics are a little tedious. The building phase has no real tension, while the strategy of the nighttime levels is simply to slow down and nitpick chains so that you only let a monster out one at a time. There's never a good payoff to a cascade effect. It makes for pretty slow gameplay... :(

Unplayable. Loved the game online, game on iPhone is too buggy, if squares drop in between rounds the games freezes.

So far so good. I'm not that far into the game but so far I'm really enjoying it. It's simple and easy to learn, my only problem comes from that, actually. It drops you into the game with no explanation on what you're supposed to do for the combat system and when I got to night I kept dying until I finally figured it out. Of course the pro of this was that there wasn't some twenty minute tutorial, you got right into the gameplay. Other than that I really love the simplicity of the art style and game mechanics. Sometimes a game can flood you in directions and objectives but this isn't the case. I've already recommended this game to a friend and I would do it again if the situation arose.

It's fun for 5 min.... It's fun for the first little bit and then gets pointless. You don't earn anything you don't progress. Building the buildings seems pointless. Combos don't reward you with anything. It's a good attempt but in my opinion ultimately fails to be fun or grab my attention. An example of a better game.. again in my opinion is you must build a boat.

Ok, but I don't get the point. I match three until I die? Why? I wanted to support the creator of A Dark Room, but I'm left disappointed.

Addicting! And forgiving.. I've really loved this games progress and what it looks like to figure out how to live and stay alive and find the best way to do that. I will say though that I recently got to day 75 where the food turns to chicken legs and I don't seem to be making any more progress. I just gather resources and they go to nothing. Not sure if I broke the game or beat it. Haha

Saving Issue. I love this game, I played it when it was on PC, but I've had saving issues. Whenever I close out of the game and go back into it, it'll delete my progress. I hope I'm not the only one having this issue.

Super clever and cool. I randomly found this game and I’m so glad I did. You dive in and little by little figure out how to progress. It’s challenging but not frustrating. It’s very well designed, and it saves your progress. It’s an intelligent match game. Very fun. I also appreciate that there are no ads or IAPs, just a fair price up front. Thank you developer for a great game. I hope you have others in the pipeline, we need more good ones like you. This is a clever match game that’s different from others out there. Totally worth trying out!

Addicting, at first...... The game is awesome, day one. Start off easy, match 3-4 different resource blocks and make at least up to the 2nd building, but at the night time. Wayyyyy to difficult for the beginning of the game. There are way to many monsters an not enough sword and shield blocks. Please fix this.

Fun Time Waster with Issues. It's fun, but looking for more content. The game could have used a tutorial of some sort to explain how the buildings work.

Love Gridland. An improvement over the already great web version. The gameplay loop is addicting: match tiles to collect resources during the day and fight monsters at night. The music and graphics are simple but great. However, some of the elements (such as the resource bars) are difficult to see on smaller phone screens.

Great game overall. Great game I love the simplicity of it, but the reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I got to a point where I built all my houses completely and now I'm just fighting monsters so if you could make that you move to a new area after that or meet a npc which tells you to do something that would be amazing

What's going on?. I got it but its pretty bad i cant recommend it. Theres stuff happening but it barely seems connected to ehat you do. You're matching tiles for what purpose? My dude on the top screen died and im not sure why? Why anything? The game is either so opaque about its mechanics or its what it is and is stupidly simple. Either way its not any fun.

Bugs not hugs. Really enjoying the game but the bug freezing the game is really irritating. I wished the game was more polished.

Meh. I expected there to be a bit more to it, but there wasn't. This is essentially the same version as the web browser one that came out a while ago. Fairly straight forward match 3 with some strategy elements.

I <3 this game.. This game is addictive and rewarding. But you need to pay attention to what is happening or you'll find yourslef mauled to death by rats and zombies.

Screen froze. Screen froze within 10 minutes of playing. Terrible.

Fun game!. Simultaneously liked and disliked the lack of instructions. There were aspects of night-vs-day switching that I didn't understand until I googled it. The fighting and building aspects on the other hand were intuitive and easily discoverable. Great game! Minor bug: tiles don't fill entire screen if you're dragging a tile while you're being switched from day-to-night or vice-versa.
