This is a great app if you’re like myself and a total newb to the gym with no one to guide you in what to work and when to work it. The only issue I have is when I change weights or reps and hit done it thinks I finished all the exercises for that group instead of just wanting to be done changing amounts. If they were to resolve that it would be an excellent app.
I absolutely love this app! The good: It builds workouts for you and can separate them into circuits or subsets It pairs with the Apple Watch so you can quickly record reps and then move to your next exercise It shows in the info page for each exercise previous reps x sets (though sometimes you have to dig a little to find it) and notes you’ve made previously The interface is very gorgeous and easy to use It shows what muscles are being worked on in a workout you’ve built or are building as well as what muscles should be sore Improvement suggestions: Make it easier to see notes and previous reps x sets from the info page of each exercise Make it possible to create your own exercises and not limit it to just the ones you’ve added to the app. Make it possible to change the muscle an exercise is targeting Add a feature to record if you used a resistance band with any movement Be able to search exercises by machine or equipment
This seemed to actually be a pretty helpful app. But it’s one of those kinds of things that try to trick you into a payment plan that’s harder then pulling your own teeth with a set of tweezers to get out of. It’s also VERY expensive for what it is.
I really want to use this app and even joined the premium membership. But I cant! I set my workouts and hit start workout and it takes me to the screen to select a free trial or membership. Tried trial first and still couldn’t use the app. Bit the bullet and got a membership and I still CANNOT start a workout. I need assistance
Freezing up regularly when hitting the Done button. Have to exit out, go back to hit done, and then finish. Calories burned then changes - almost always goes down when hitting done the second one time.
I use this app everyday and I pay monthly! But the app crashes atleast twice every workout! Somedays the app freezes my whole phone and I have to restart my phone. I don’t want to go to another app or use the old school pen and journal method! Please fix this app!
**update*** they still have not addressed any of the technical issues so I cannot recommend this app. If they’re fixed in the future I will update this review. But as of now not worth the money. It’s tough to recommend this app and its pay for yearly service when it freezes constantly and runs so poorly on an iPhone X. While the workouts it suggests are on point and excellent, the technical issues end up marring the whole experience. If they were to fix those I’d give it 5 stars.
Over 275 workouts logged. Best thing I’ve ever done was tracking workout data. Works awesome with Apple Watch!
Be careful not to enroll in the subscription after your free trial ends. Cool features and this might help you if you’re new to fitness
I loved this app until it started recommending the same exercise repeatedly. Even when I logged all sets and pretended I did the work out it wouldn't record my progress. Ugh
Amazing app. Revolutionary. Well done. Love it.
Fitbod has definitely kept me motivated to work out near everyday since downloading the app. The workouts so far have been within my current abilities after being injured. Having the ability to replace certain exercises in my workout is a huge benefit. If I have one qualm it would be that the app didn’t ask about any injuries when initially asking about ability, health and goals.
After testing the free version, happily paid for this app, it just works extremely well and is a pleasure to use, especially on Apple Watch which leaves me to watch educational videos while I workout on my iPhone without having to ‘alt tab’ between video and gym app every 30secs. I entered in my weights workouts and shared them with my PT so he can send the templates to his other clients too ready to use immediately 💪🏻
I really like the app, but I’d be happy to pay with a one off payment of the top price, instead of the yearly payment. That’s why I haven’t bought it. Instead just us the 3 free ones and then pass on the app.
I like this app because it allows me to not do legs
For some reason rest time is zero for all sets
Not quite download & go yet. Repetitive exercises in auto-programming when you’d expect the power of workout apps is the automatic targeted variety.
Love it but it’s a shame you can’t add your own exercises
The app is constantly logging me out for no reason. Losing track of all my trainings
Great App but would be beneficial with more exercises such as assault bike workout and a plug-in into MFP. Otherwise It is great.
I love this app and have been using it for several years now off and on, but consistently the past 6-7 months. I’m never really one to write reviews, however, I lost about eighty workouts or some amount along those lines. This app is always either crashing or glitching in some way, such as the one I previously stated. It’s hard to progress if this app isn’t properly tracking and saving it. Very disappointed. Makes me want to look for a different application.
Fantastic app! I recommend this to anyone who is looking to get started in the gym. I wish that it included the reasoning behind why it chooses the weight, rep number and rest time. I would feel more confident if it was giving me personalized targets based on my current fitness. A simple fitness test that includes one rep maxes and endurance in order to customize the workout a little more accurately would GREATLY increase my confidence in the workouts it generates. One last semi picky thing is that I don’t like the new design for the muscle man on the home page (the one that glows under fatigue). The geometric one was way better!
I actually like working out but need accountability and this definitely has kept me going back to the gym. I also hate planning a workout, so this app is perfect for me. It has taught me new exercises and showed me where I was going wrong previouslyI definitely recommend this app.
I’m finally sticking with a workout routine. This is just the app I needed to get my butt in the gym. It also is teaching me weight training as well. There’s no guessing when I go workout. This app tells me what exercise to do and even shows you how to do it with gifs! It tells you how many sets and reps to do and on some suggests weights but you can change all of that. It’s very customizable as well. You can change out the workout if your not yet ready for the ones they suggest for another you are more familiar with. You can also choose what types of cardio exercises you want to perform and you can have it set to do cardio before or after weights. All in all this is an awesome app for beginners who are overwhelmed with all the workouts out there, especially with weights. This cuts right to the point and tells you exactly what to do and what muscle groups you should be working. You can even choose workouts without a gym as well so there’s no excuse if you don’t have a gym membership. If you’re serious about getting healthy and strong, I recommend this to the fullest!
I LOVED this app, for about a year it motivated me and helped me reach almost all of my fitness goals, it’s ease of use and simplicity made it rise high above the thousands of fitness apps out there. Now for about 3 months the app has been a pain to use, it’s buggy, slow, freezes multiple times when trying to input information or when using a timer, it crashes constantly and has even caused my phone to shut off.
As a developer I am deeply impressed with the amount of work it took to get this app working like it does. As someone how works out this is the best app I have used for fitness really great work!
Overall this is an amazing app. It helps me hit all my muscle groups while keeping my workouts fresh and never boring. The workouts have literally replaced my personal trainer. I burn on average 600-700 calories in my hour long workouts. However, the app is VERY slow and freezes all the time. I am also constantly modifying/changing my lifts, rearranging and having to super setting my workouts; even though I have selected supersets in my settings. I’m only 25 workouts into using the app, so maybe it will get better and learning my workout style and ability the more I use it. Even with the software glitches and having to modify my workouts before hitting the gym I still think the app is worth every penny.
Is it possible to add more oblique exercises and other ab exercises? The app is absolutely remarkable. The only con that I have seen is that there is not a lot of inner thigh exercises. This was the best way for me to get back into weight training despite years of not doing it.
Need to be able to check my HR, in app, on my Apple Watch.
This app is not worth the price and was still charged auto renewal fees despite canceling. Hard pass save your money
I love using it, but it does have shortfalls like fractional weights being lost between work outs (6.5 is always 6 next time), instructions for bench optional exercises only giving with-bench instructions, but by and large a very good app. Just needs some tweaking of work outs and you’re set to go each time.
Love this app. Been going to the gym for years and every time had to plan my workouts, reps and weights. No more. This does it all, love how it tracks muscle recovery and the many custom options to select available equipment. Super good value for the price and you forget about personal coaches...
Very easy to use and track. Good variety of exercises
