HomeBrite App Description & Overview

What is homebrite app? The HomeBrite app serves as a virtual light switch for your HomeBrite Bluetooth Smart LED bulbs. HomeBrite uses Bluetooth Mesh technology to connect bulbs throughout your entire home while allowing you to dim and power lights on and off, set schedules and timers, create scenes, and manage groups.

Easy Setup
Simply pair bulbs with your Bluetooth smart device then start controlling and customizing your HomeBrite system. No hub, remote, gateway, wifi, or cellular signal is needed.

On/Off/Dim
Turn your bulbs on and off, or dim them from anywhere in your house from one or more Bluetooth smart devices.

Groups
Group bulbs by room or moods (ie. movie night) and control them with a single command.

Scenes
Scenes allow you to customize a group’s lighting effects.

Schedules
Set schedules to turn individual bulbs or groups on or off at a set date or time. Set a recurring schedule to repeat daily.

App suddenly stopped working. I was happy with my HomeBrite bulb, but then the app all of a sudden stopped opening. Looked at the reviews, and I am giving up hope on it working with my phone again. 😕 If you make the mistake of buying one of these bulbs, it isn’t the worst thing. Just be sure to have a back up plan. I was lucky that it was used on a lamp by my desk so not so bad to have to manually turn it off/on. Another note: this bulb doesn’t allow for you to turn off/on when you are too far away. My reason for the purchase was to flip it on and off when we aren’t home.

Didn’t work for me. Love the idea. At first it wouldn’t “mesh” with my internet but after calling tech support, I’d get it to work for a day and then everything would just disappear from the app and once again, it wouldn’t mesh. They were very nice to talk to and I’m glad it works for some but I have high speed Comcast internet, live in the middle of the city, and the light switch is in the next room to where the router is. I also had the split internet addresses (it requires 2.4). I wish it would have worked. It’s awesome when it does.

?. I bought these light bulbs (2) several months ago and have been very happy with them. My neighbors bedroom is near my garage and thus I didn’t want to leave lights burning when I was not home. I stop at the end of the street, turn them on with my phone, drive in and turn them off. Why do I need to update the app when I don’t currently have a problem and according to the comments, I might have if I update?

WORST PRODUCT EVER. My first problem arose when I couldn’t get any of the products to connect to Wi-Fi not only did it do they not connect to Wi-Fi there is no option to connect through Bluetooth and there is no option to connect through any other means which leave the disappointing truth that none of these products work I bought three bulbs not one has connected I’m extremely disappointed. I troubleshoot it for hours looked up the company online to see what the problem is was told that I needed to download a new app so I did and the app crashed every time you opened it so no possible way to ever connect these products to Wi-Fi. NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN

Won't Pair at ALL. I don't know if it's the new update or my iPhone 7 which I just upgraded to but for whatever reason I cannot pair my bulbs to my iPhone for the life of me. It's extremely frustrating because it was working beautifully before and support isn't at all helpful. All you get is an automated generic reply of solutions that any human being with basic problem solving skills would've obviously attempted. And it's even more frustrating and insulting that for the price of each bulb you'd think they'd have an actual human being attempt at resolving your problem. Very disappointed since I literally changed all 9 of my lights to these Bluetooth bulbs which aren't worth anything now. WOMP WOMP, I would recommend buying a bulb from a company that has an actual support team to resolve at the very least foreseeable issues.

App is buggy, but it works. I bought the lightbulb and I was excited to have Bt control of that bulb. I downloaded the app and the app worked and I was able to use it. When I opened the app again I got a message "searching for mesh" and then "Sorry, mesh not found". I contacted the developer on tweeter and I got a response. But when I opened the app again, it worked. It ONLY works if there are light bulbs on. The app gets confused if it opens and the bulbs are not on. It needs some more work.

Interface needs to be updated!. I’m giving 2 stars to this app because it’s become annoying the fact that the on off button on the iPhone screen moves over when trying to dim my light making the motion of my finger useless. And you have to try 2 or 3 times so the dimmer on your screen catches your finger motion and does what’s suppose to do. I mean.. WHEN in the world have you seen a light switch or wall dimmer moving over like it’s hanging on a string and you need the other hand to hold it?

App is completely non-functional. You really get what you pay for. I bought one of these bulbs off the clearance rack at Ace and now I know why it was there. Open the app, click or touch ANYTHING and it immediately crashes. Seems this is just how it is, based on the other reviews. I guess I’ll count myself lucky that my bulb at least lights up, so my security light will work until I have a chance to get the extension ladder back up there to change it out. Just take it off the App Store if you’re not going to back it anymore.

Ehh.... I’ve been using these bulbs for over a year... They worked fine initially. I was completely satisfied with my purchase; but recently, I’ve been waking up to my lights unexpectedly being turned on during the night. The bulbs themselves work fine; my true complaint is with the software within the app. I CONSTANTLY have to reset my bulbs and the majority of the time I have the “no mesh was found” alert when trying to simply turn on/off the lights. I have to “retry” to connect to the “mesh” a few times before I get a successful outcome. Overall... for the price of the bulbs and the free app; I got what I paid for BUT as soon as these kick the bucket I’m definitely going with the pricer system if it means consistency in operation. I usually get frustrated with the process and end up just flipping the switch manually.

Do not buy!. I needed a light that wasn’t too expensive and would get the job done. This light wasn’t too expensive but it definitely did NOT get the job done. I loved and needed a lightbulb that would turn on on a schedule as I get home late some nights and hate coming home to a dark home and I hate that my dog is sitting at home in the dark as well so thought that this light would be perfect because you can schedule it to turn on/off etc whenever you want. I was shocked and happy that I got it to work but it didn’t work for long (like a week). Sometimes it wouldn’t go on as scheduled or it would not turn on and not turn off with the app. So I just turned on the light myself. And figured I just wasted money. After that, there was an app update that I thought it might help. But it did not. The light still doesn’t connect to the app. I even tried trouble shooting like the website suggested. I still cannot get the light to connect with the app no matter how hard I tried! Save your money and buy a more reliable one that actually works!

Worse company that don’t stand behind their product. I bought the SMART LED Bulb, they work for a while with a few glitches that was fixed with resetting. However a year ago I could not get them to work, called 800 number I was told the issue was my internet. My internet options are limited, have to depend hot spot, tried satellite internet for awhile it sucked. Internet became available thru major provider, again not the best but better than what we’ve been dealing with. I had as number one thing to do, set my smart bulb, but could not get the app to link the bulbs so I called Feit electric. I was given some bull—- excuse related to my iPhone etc. Stating this issue has been going on for the past 3 years. I remind customer Svc I called a year ago and was told something different. To not make this longer the gentlemen I spoke to wanted me to remove all 6 bulbs, some which are in my entry way requiring dismantling the light fixture and dismantling the 2 fixtures by the garage. I was asked to take a picture 6 plus the 3 extra light bulb , and as a courtesy to give some type of compensation. Not even the 3 extra that are still in the box he would accept picture. He would not accept taking a close up of the bulbs. I am searching for better smart light bulb product. I’m going to make sure Feit Electric is a company I never again purchase any product EVER! Wish I could give then zero star.

Worked great for years. I bought two bulbs many years ago. Power outages caused problems and there were occasional glitches where one of the two bulbs would stay on but I was always able to resolve the problem. I have never had to replace the bulbs even though they are set for approximately 6 hours per day. Then last week Hurricane Zeta came through and power was out for two days. The bulbs came ob but did not go off. When I tried to open the app it wouldn’t open. It just opens briefly for a second and then closes. I uninstalled and reinstalled but the same thing happened. Tried to chat with customer service but after I typed my question it said no one was available so now I’m waiting for an email. Based on the other reviews I don’t hold out much hope for a resolution so I’ll be researching other bulbs. I actually wanted to buy more but never could find them again. I’m glad I didn’t.

Horrible bait and switch. I bought this lightbulb and started using the application three months ago. It was OK. Not great. But it did allow me to set a timer for the light, and turn it off and on from my phone as long as I was within Bluetooth range. Today I open the app to turn on the light and discovered that I’m required to give them my email address and/or my phone number in order to use the app and thus make the light at all useful. That’s horrible. I gave you my money, you give me a light with additional features. Now I have to give you my email address and/or my phone number? You’re not getting it.

Great app and bulbs. I bought my 1st bulb last January and fell in love with the features. I’m a techie guy so I love anything that I can do from my phone. I’ve since bought 3 more bulbs, 1 for the dining room, 1 for our bedroom and another for our daughters bedroom. The best part is that you can leave the light off and when you’re outside your door you can turn them all on before entering as long as your WIFI signal reaches that far.

App shuts down. I can’t shut off the lights now.. The app worked well for quite a while. But for the last few weeks the app will suddenly close when i try to select my bulbs or sign in. The only way I can shut off the lights is to use my old iphone which is quite annoying. I don’t know if this is an iphone 11 issue or an app issue but something should be done to fix it.

What happened?. Until several days ago the app worked fine with two of my bulbs. It has worked without problems for several years. All of a sudden the app crashes when I try to add a device. I can’t even open the add device screen without it crashing. I have deleted the app done a restart of my phone and reinstalled the app several times and it doesn’t make any difference. Did you do an update in the last few days that now has screwed things up? I have an iPhone XS and it worked just fine with this app. Until a few days ago. Now it is useless.

Works just fine. I like the other reviewers, I have gotten this app and the bulbs to work just fine. It takes some figuring out but once you figure it out, it works great. If you have trouble, reset the bulbs and app and start over. I just wish there was a way to incorporate sunrise and sunset times into this to turn the bulbs on at sunset and off at sunrise without having to manually go in and change it.

Will not buy again!!!. I bought 2 at Home Depot for a great price (get what you pay for I guess) and the first one set up and connected great, although the app has randomly changed some of my settings???? The 2nd bulb the app will not even recognized!!!! Reading the other reviews people are saying that you can only control 1 bulb per device...than why does the app have groups and show it controlling multiple rooms and bulbs??? I’d rather spend more $ and get a product that actually works!!!! I’m returning the second bulb today, I’ll just have to use the 1st one as I installed it a few weeks prior to trying the second and do not have the packaging anymore!!! Don’t waste you hard earned cash folks!!!!

This app that app...all garbage. First Feit app can’t connect a light. A single light... Heaven help me if I invested in something whole home. Yikes. Thank goodness I didn’t! Company recommendation to move to this app from deprecated version. App doesn’t load on iOS 14. All trash. Other “off” brand lights and apps. Seamless. iOS 14. They should probably get in the business of scented semi smart candles. Would probably smell better than this crap. Frustrated.

Just get it. I just get it today on clearance at my local Home Depot . Didn’t read the reviews before ( maybe was better like that ) because I’m so please about those light bulbs! I bought 2 for my bedroom and took me 3 min to set them. It was hard to download the app since didn’t download directly from the app and I have to go throw the web page. After I install it works better and is easier that the ones I have downstairs that I’m spent 5 times more! At least works great to me now and also I can put a timer! Great deal.

Weak interface and bulb reliability. Have two outside lights. System works but reliability suffers because the bulbs lose their memory and stay on as soon as there is a power failure or power surge. Then you need to go into the app and make a small change to the schedule to get them to work. That means going on vacation, you can’t rely on them keeping their schedule. I just upgraded from iPhone 5s to 10r and the new phone can not connect to the bulbs. I waited on the phone with customer service for 30 minutes and did not get help. I emailed customer service and they did not respond. I give this system a C grade at best. I may upgrade to philips system soon.

Go buy this now!. I found these bulbs at Home Depot for only $12. I was skeptical thinking that this product was too good to be true at this price point. I bought three to test them out on my exterior lights. I had them set up and installed within 5 to 10 minutes. Everything worked exactly as described. I was able to turn bulbs off and on from my phone, dim the lights from my phone, and set up a schedule. My only complaint is that the app is a little bit less than intuitive when setting up groups. So far so good I'm going to go get more.

Glitchy. I’ve had my lightbulb for a few years now and love that I can control my lamp by my bedside with my phone, since the switch would require me to get out of bed (lazy I know) however, sometimes the lamp randomly turns on by itself and I have no clue why. My biggest issue ever since my iPhone has updated to the newest software, the app crashes every time I try to open it. Is there a fix coming soon Bc I really need this app to work again with my lightbulb.

Better than reviews and cheaper than others. I was frustrated after 15 minutes of trying to get them to connect but reset my phone and Bluetooth and then it found all 5 of them. Have 2 in and 3 in kitchen that I always forgot to shutoff. Now I just hit the button on my phone. I wish they had a daylight option id replace 10 more bulbs if they did.

Worked, for a while. We often travel so I was wanting a system that would turn the lights on and off throughout the day and night while we were not home. I bought one Homebrite Smart LED Bulb to try it out. When it worked as advertised I was so impressed I went out and purchased two more. I had lights scheduled to come on and go off at many intervals in 3 different rooms. We went out of town and my neighbor told me that my lights worked great. I was a happy customer, but then decided I needed to change the schedule on a couple of the lamps. I don't know what happened but something happened to the mesh and now all my bulbs are undiscoverable. I have deleted and re-installed the app hoping that would solve my problem. It has not. My lights will not come on and go off with my phone or on a schedule. What I'm going to do when I go out of town is just turn them all on at the switch and let them burn 24 hours a day while I'm gone hoping that they will eventually burn out. I don't feel bad throwing out a light bulb that has burnt out. I can't bring myself to throw away an expensive lightbulb that still lights. Oh well, at least I only bought 3 and they worked for a couple of weeks.

Worked for a few weeks. Bought a bulb and it worked so I went to buy four more for my bedroom and they all worked well for a week or so then they started flickering randomly when I opened the app and then they all stopped connecting all together. After months they still won't connect when I try to use them. Feit has useless customer service that gives generic answers. They work fine as regular bulbs I guess even though they flicker for like the first half second they turn on. Just ended up spending more on Phillips Hue and being extremely happy with that. Don't buy the cheaper crappier option. Just go with Hue and not waste your money completely like I did.

Overall Feeling. So, customer service is awesome with these lights. You have a problem or bulb goes out-call the company and they will send you new bulbs for free without a receipt and didn’t matter when I purchased them. They walked me through getting the bulbs going again. Issue is, the app and connecting sure can be a pain if you don’t use them for awhile. Connectivity issues are a problem. If they could figure that out, I would give them a 5 star rating.

Does not work with. Does not work with IOS 13 . I think this may get worse! It did the company informs me they have no plans to upgrade their software. If you haven’t bought any of the Bluetooth bulbs with a ten year lifespan stop now the support is not available. That also gives pause if you consider any purchase of their newer model equipment they apparently give up on support after a few years. They did suggests I use an old phone to control the bulbs very thoughtful to have me charge and keep up with an old outdated device to control their equipment they no longer support. In short if you read this before buying any of their equipment it is surely a buyer beware situation at best. At this point I would call the reputation of them ‘shot’ good luck with your purchase and if you haven’t I may have saved you considerable bucks. Can you leave negative stars.

Disappointing "smart" bulb 😞. I was very excited to set this up in my room for dimming the lights, automatic shut off, controlling the bulb myself, etc. HOWEVER, from the very beginning I've had issues with pairing the bulb to my iPhone, and despite getting a different phone over the course of time (and keeping up with updates), this bulb still won't cooperate. Now it won't pair at all and is basically a super expensive regular light bulb. I'm very disappointed and won't be buying this type of smart bulb in the future; my money and time will be invested in other brands. The user interface of the app could have had more options and customization choices and I would have liked to have seen more updates released, but other than that, I do not have any major problems with the app. It's simple enough for most age groups to use (a pro or a con, depending on how you look at it), but that makes me wonder if the pairing issue is with the bulbs themselves or the app/pairing firmware. Regardless, I strongly advise future buyers to consider reviews from here and elsewhere before making any large investments in this brand of smart bulb.

Works as advertised. I was going to buy an expensive wakeup light until I saw this thing. For a basic smart light it works pretty great, this isn’t on the level of a hue or wink smart home set up but for my dorm as a wake up light it works well, probably going to buy one or two more so it brightens up the room a little more. Wish there was a bulb with a higher lumen output

Mesh Issues. I like the functionality but when opening the app, 8 times out of 10, the app can not find mesh. There is no instructions what to do next. I have to get up and turn on and off light switch for the mesh to be found again and start connectivity again. Plus, the app only works when you are close by. You can not turn on or off lights once you leave the location. Two weeks later....this is getting old. Every time that I need to turn on the light or off, the app won't mesh. Frustrating!

Quick to install, easy to use. Found this at the store and for not a lot of money I now have smart lights. Set alarms and timers with ease and even dims! Super cool product, no problems so far with the app! Not sure why app has such bad reviews. I really recommend this product if you don't want to have to buy a hub.

Glitchy and can’t add groups. App gets worse with time. Bulbs no longer respond. Schedules off. Can delete and readd app, bulbs, groups, schedules and it is a mess. Takes forever and now can’t find “mesh” or 5 of my 7 bulbs. Waste of money. I called customer support and spent 2 hours on hold and was finally told i would be sent new bulbs. They never came. Sham. Don’t get these!!!! Previous ... With a category of “groups” you would think you could add one — but you can’t. It is just all or go over to bulbs and turn them on/off one at a time. Scheduling is one by one so I have to set up 10 schedules to cover lights coming on each night. And when time changes or you want to change them it gets glitchy. Some changes take, others do not. Taking a bulb off schedule does not help. Best is to delete the schedule and start from scratch. And do this several times a year. Also the dim is manual. You cannot preset a bulb or schedule it with a dim function on. What a drag.

Still works well for me. Running iOS 10.2 on iPhone 6. Can install latest version and control bulbs. Was able to restore/sync config with iPhone 5 also running iOS 10.2 and control the same set of bulbs. (It does have the limit that more than 1 bulb to have multiple phones controlling same set.) Maybe folks having issues are running an older version of iOS? I have also encountered situations where a bad bulb can also cause the app to fail to “find the mesh.” In that case, I found the bad actor by turning them off one at a time then I just returned the bad bulb to the store for exchange.

Works until time change or power outage. I’ve had these bulbs and app for a little over a year. Originally, they worked well - the bulbs and mesh were easily discovered and the schedules worked well. That all ended every time I wanted to adjust the schedule, the time changed (daylight savings), or the switch was shut off or a power outage occurred. In the past it was just annoying as I could delete everything and start over and eventually get everything to work properly. I have been messing around with trying to get this app and bulbs to work properly for over 2 weeks and it still isn’t working! I have followed the directions, deleted the app, went through the ridiculous reset of the bulbs, and created a new account. Thought it was fixed, and then there was a power outage. Have not been able to get it to work since. One bulb is never recognized (out of 2) and the schedule will not work at all. Now I just have very expensive light bulbs I can use by turning on a switch. Totally useless and a waste of money.

Annoying more than convenient. My bulbs worked maybe 70% of the time when they worked. Now they either constantly blink bc the mesh can’t find a connection, or I forgo the app. Another issue I had was using the app to turn the light off, but then it would automatically turn back on so I had to use the light switch. I’ve had my bulbs less than a year. The amount of annoyance they cause is greater than convenience. Its like a torture tactic at this point, my living room light blinks every 20 seconds but the mesh will not connect. I hoped it would work fine and the negative reviewers just weren’t tech savvy. I am tech savvy and this is just junk.

Best investment for waking up on time!. I use the scheduled timer for my light bulb along with a regular alarm clock. The app works flawlessly! I love it and its awesome I get to dim and brighten my rooms lighting, adjusting the lighting to the time of Day really helps. At night I keep the lights low and it’s easier to fall asleep. In the morning when I’m trying to wake up for School, the light slowly turns on .; making the transition from sleeping to waking much smoother.

If I could rate it 0 stars, I would. The product itself is terrible. Bought it and came home to find only one smart device can connect to a single bulb. (It was printed VERY tiny on the BOTTOM of the box). This was disappointing because my boyfriend and I were wanting the ability to be able to both control the bulb from our own phones. Also, not sure how they got "HomeBrite" trademarked because there's another company with the same name totally separate from this one and it's actually a legitimate company probably getting a bad rep from this specific line of products. Overall, terrible app (could never find the bulb) and terrible product. Would NOT suggest buying.

Groups Functionality Broken. For turning off individual lightbulbs this works just fine. But the groups functionality is broken. Whenever I turn off lights as groups they randomly turn back on later. And also when I turn lights on and off as groups the schedule functionality also breaks. Forcing me to reset each lightbulb in that group. If you are going t use this app. Only use the individual light bulb menu option and not groups.

Update app for newer iPhones newer the iPhone 6. PleaseI have several of these home bright bulbs and they only work on iPhones six and older please update this app for a newer iPhones 7 and up. These bulbs are sold at hone depot and I’m sure there are many many people having this problem with the app. People get new iPhones every two years you need to update this app to keep people buying your bulbs you would think someone there thought I’d this already. Last comment on here is over a year ago and no updates yet please do the right thing for us people

Worked well for a while.... Got this in the fall for an outside pole light that we forget to turn off and lined up the schedule to the sunset and sunrise. Worked well for a few months, not sure if because I have a new iPhone 11, or if it is due to the winter cold, but it tried to connect to the mesh and the app sometimes connects, but then just shuts down and blanks out. The schedule doesn’t work anymore. Great concept, but doesn’t look like the developers have updated it in a year? How about an update folks?

Quickest Home Setup!. This was super simple and within 30 min I had 5 bulbs set up, 3 groups made, dimmer settings completed for all, and set schedules for each group in my two story. No WiFi needed but you do need at least 2 bulbs to “mesh” and be recognized. I can control everything from my phone and it even works with my Alexa!! Found these marked down to >$7 each at Home improvement store and bought all 6 left!! Best deal so far!

Works for on/off but app crashes if I try anything else!. So far the bulbs and app work for on/off - that’s it (except for the random on with no input from me, but thats rare.) The problem is trying to do anything else with the app, (and sometimes even just on/off) - the app crashes. So frustrating! I was hoping to find a way to add the bulbs to Apple home, or simply update the firmware - but the app crashes before I can even get into settings! I won’t be buying any more of these bulbs. I’ve converted the rest of my house to Lutron Caseta (LOVE!!) and am now kicking myself for wasting my time with these bulbs and antiquated app.

Not a Smart app or bulb. The bulb and app worked great, although it took a call into customer support to get the app to connect with the app that involved turning switches off and in after so many seconds (that info is not included anywhere). Once it finally connected, I was able to establish a schedule so the light would come on around sunset (using sunset is not an option like on other smart bulbs I have). However, when I went to change the schedule around daylight savings I couldn’t access any item on the menu. The app would just close. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app to no avail. Customer support was not helpful and then I was put on hold for an engineer but she waited long enough that they all went home for the day. For awhile I could at least turn the bulb on and off and set a time from my phone. But no the app won’t recognize anything or connect and just keeps closing before anything connects. Very frustrating and not very “smart” at all. Still waiting for someone to return my call and email but I’m not hopeful. Guess it’s just money down the drain. I’ll look for another solution.

GREAT customer service. Yes, the update in late November bricked the app on my rather old iPhone. But with the help of a wonderful customer service rep, got everything working on my newer iPad. The key is deleting the app and turning off the iPad, reinstalling the app, then a hard reset of the bulbs: 5 cycles of 18 seconds on and one second off before having the app rediscover the bulb. Thank you Cisco!

Works just fine. I saw this at the store and purchased. If I had read the reviews on the app first, I probably never would have bought it. But since I did, I gave it a try anyway to see for myself. It works great. Either I got lucky or people must be turning off their light switches making the app unable to operate the bulb. App installation was fast. It immediately located the bulb. You can set different bulbs up in groups to operate on the same schedule. Literally within a minute or so I was operating the lift and had a schedule saved. I was very reluctant to buy it thinking this was going to be another gadget that didn't work good. I can turn the light on and off or dim from my phone. Yes expensive but not really when you consider the features. I only got one to test. Now I am going to get a few more. Works great for table lamps. I don't normally give long reviews but I thought it was necessary here. Seeing so many bad reviews, I was thinking the few good reviews were probably not true. I am very pleased.

Awesome lil big light with useful features. This was actually a very worthy purchase, although there are a couple app bugs, but overall very satisfied! Perks: • Turn on and off your light from your bed • Dim and adjust from afar • Set a timer if you tend to fall asleep while reading like me. • Schedule on/off intervals through days/weeks • Add additional bulbs around the house and name/label them all with photos Bugs: • Sometimes finding the connection between your phone and bulb can take a minute. • If I leave the house for a week (I do for work) I’ll come back and the lights are on, even when I have them off or programmed for different times. I think this has to do with the Bluetooth being completely cut for long periods — something tells me having an in house iPod with the app would fix that. Haven’t tested this, but it seems a bit inconvenient. But I feel like these issues are fixable! And If so it would make this a flawless, excellent purchase.

Don't buy until they fix. I had not updated this app on all my devices because I didn't like some changes . After I updated to 14.5 the app made me update it, now it crashes everytime I try to login to access my bulbs. Thankfully I have one old phone that won't go to iOS 14 so I can still work my bulbs, but if that phone dies I will be out of luck. I have the Bluetooth bulbs but I know Feit has some more advanced bulbs. I would not buy anything until they fix this issue. Until this I had been extremely pleased these were a 5 star bulb for me. If they fix this issue I will change this review.

Crashes on startup. I know this is an old piece of software, but I still have a HomeBrite bulb that I use and had scheduled the way I needed it. Well, we were hit by Hurricane Ida here in New Orleans, no power for two weeks. The bulb has apparently forgotten its schedule (understandable), but I haven't used the Feit HomeBrite app on this phone, ever. I just downloaded it, and it crashes right after startup. Please fix this, I know it just needs updating to the latest OS and Feit is a large enough company that they can afford the menial cost associated with such an update... after all, it really doesn't look good for Feit Electric to have such a deeply unpopular product rating in the App Store... (hint hint)

Well I tried.... I bought two of the bulbs for this system to replace some normal bulbs in my bedroom. I was thinking of using the scheduling feature to supplement my alarm clock by having it turn on the lights when the alarm was supposed to go off. However, once installed, one of the two bulbs I bought just wouldn't turn off (when turned off through the app the bulb would flicker off for a second then come on full again). I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, resetting the app through the settings menu, hard resetting the bulbs together, hard resetting the bulbs separately, connecting the bulbs separately after hard resetting the bulbs, and a few other method of attempting to get the second bulb to work. Spoilers... it never worked and I will be returning the one bulb and exchanging it for another one to see if it was just a bad bulb. But, judging by the sheer volume of negative comments it might be a firmware/app problem. Either that or they have such horrible quality control that one in every three or so bulbs is faulty... just a thought. Buy theses bulbs with extreme caution as they will probably not work as you are expecting them to...

Finally a timer that I can control with my phone. I had a timer that you plugged into the wall but the outlet was behind the couch and with daylight savings I had to pull the couch out every few days to adjust. I found a HomeBrite bulb that did not require a 'hub' which I did not want for one light to be on a timed schedule. Initially, I could not get it to work as others above stated but I called to company and between Cisco and Mike we solved the problem. If you download your app to 2 devices, make sure you only have one app on ONE open when using or making changes. I had both iPhone and iPad open and the bulb didn't work. Overall extremely happy that I now have a light on a timer without needing to move furniture around. I am inspired to buy another bulb for another room.

Great bulbs. These Bluetooth bulbs operate perfectly. Resetting them every iOS update is required. Quickly turn light switch Off/On every 15 seconds for 1 minute then bulbs work perfectly. I’ve been using the bulbs for years & no issues.

Hard to find any worse than Feit. Like other folks say, Both bulbs and app are not working properly. In the past two years, it never worked properly. Not even ONCE! so I contacted Feit electronics customer support, but they only said “you have to contract retailer/store where you purchased, bring the product and receipt”. Who the heck would keep receipt for bulbs?? It’s not PC, only bulbs! What a joke Company... asked also said it doesn’t work because I’m using iPhone XS. I was told to use iPhone 5 or older.. who would have such an old phone? Useless customer support guys. Wonder if they’re sober...

Zero stars! DON’T UPDATE!. Not only does the app not work correctly. The new update isn’t configured properly in landscape OR portrait view. And you DO NOT need my email or cell number for a light bulb application. Zero stars for that reason alone. Going back to the previous version even though it’s not great, much more reliable.

Broken to pieces. So disappointed I have to create and register to use the app. Next issue... can’t even register as the app crashes as soon as you try to type in any of the blank fields. So blank it doesn’t even tell you what info to put in. App only gets a 1star because you can’t leave a zero or negative number rating.

THE worst. Bought a few of them and set up the schedule. Lights may all turn on some days and then a few will shut off. Next day the ones that were on will turn off and the ones that were off will turn on. I have to manually turn them off and on through the app and often I have to turn them all (as a group) off, on them off again until they sync up. They sent new bulbs to me for free and they do the same thing. Don’t waste your money.

not bad. I would like a better way to control each light from a menu. not as a group it is hard to program individual lights. but other than that is a good idea.

Doesn’t Work Anymore. I’ve had this smart bulb in my front porch light fixture for several years and was able to connect to it through the app fine until about 6 months ago, then the app was updated. Now every time I try to connect the app closes. I have uninstalled the app and reinstalled, no change. Guess it’s not a supported app anymore with phone operating system? Crashes every time. I’ve had this for a while and it’s great for turning the lights on or off but to set a schedule it crashes every single time I try to reset the schedules! Horrible App. At first when I bought a few of these bulbs, the app was buggy, but worked if you were patient. Then Feit updated the app in a way that I couldn't use it at all without first signing up for an account and giving out my mobile phone number. Worst it says that if I sign up all my setting will be lost. So the app which worked before now doesn’t even open because I’m not giving my mobile number.

HomeBrite App and Lights. Ok, so I have various types of light bulbs at the house and I mainly use these for my outdoor lights only because these are cheaper than the other ones I have. Pro: 1. For the most part, these lights work. I can turn off lights at the touch of my phone, and 2. It automatically turns on and off per a schedule I set. Con: 1. Set up takes awhile. There’s always a delay for the app to connect to the light bulb(s). 2. It’s Bluetooth only, so you can’t use this remotely. Current Issue: Since the new IOS update, the schedule doesn’t work. I don’t recommend these light bulbs and app.

Fail. I am very angry. I have 2 bulbs; living room and bedroom. Often they fail to connect so I have to turn the light of then on again manually. Today the bedroom bulb started pulsing. Did the app reload and tried to hard reset. Did nothing. Now none of my bulbs will connect and the bedroom bulb still pulses. Tried to email customer service but I have to give them my name, address, phone number and email just to get a response. Boooooo!!!! Disappointed.

works on occasion. i've had trouble with this app since first downloading. light configurations will sometimes just drop out. sometimes, dimming or powering off an entire group still leaves a bulb on. the only way to fix this is to rediscover all the same bulbs and start all over. tried to add a second device to control the lights and it stayed on discovery mode indefinitely. tried the ipad app as well which continually crashed (may have been old OS' fault). i will be moving to a different platform as soon as someone makes candelabra bulbs.

Worked great then..... I had purchased two bulbs from Home Depot and they worked perfectly for a while until I attempted to add additional bulbs. My iPhone could not find the new bulbs. Foolishly I guess, I used the restart option thinking that with a restart it would then see my new bulbs along with the old ones. Now despite every possible fix I cannot pair with ANY of my bulbs. It's very frustrating. Wish I had read the earlier reviews. Don't waste your money.

Turns on by itself. I bought this bulb in order to help my toddler learn when it was okay to get out of bed in the morning. Things were going well until the bulb started turning on by itself. I didn't have any schedules. I just turned it on and off when I wanted. No changes were made. Just one night, it came on by itself repeatedly until I snuck into my son's room and turned it off at the switch. Thankfully it didn't wake my toddler who turns into a demon when awakened!

Very cool.. Easy set up. Worked as advertised. As mentioned by another user, if I'd seen the terrible reviews before purchasing I probably would not have purchased it. I'm glad I didn't see them first because I'm total satisfied with this product. Not sure how all the bad reviews came about.

Useless app. The bulb can o my be operated from the phone for a short time after the bulb is operated from a wall switch. 10-20 min. Also the bulb can be accessed by 1 phone only. We are still testing the timer. I will turn the bulb off up to 20 min later. At this time it is unknown if the timer will turn the bulb on & off repeatedly day after day. I rarely give 1 or 5 star ratings. I reserve those for the extreme. This is an extremely poor app

Worked for a while, but truly a horrible app. When I first set things up, our schedules worked as expected. But things have become progressively more unreliable, and it’s clear both that the bulbs themselves are extremely unreliable, and the app is an embarrassment to those of us who make our livings writing software. Even the documentation is cruddy and self-contradictory. Avoid this product.

Does not work. I have been using this app to control the light bulbs in my living room for about the past year and it has usually worked fine, with the exception of the occasional crash. For the past couple of weeks the app has not worked at all, immediately crashing upon opening. There is not point in having these light bulbs if the app does not work.

New update = even slower connection. Opening the app and “searching for mesh” already took waaaaay too long. Half the time it tells me my Bluetooth is off. With the new update it takes twice as long. Why the additional steps? It works but ugh. You’re missing an opportunity here, please don’t make things worse.

Don’t buy it!. I have had nothing but problems since I bought these bulbs. Bulb connection problems and app connection problems are killing me. So I thought I would try customer service today to get some help and the option for help automatically just says ‘goodbye’! I can’t even use one bulb as a regular like because it keeps flickering. Trying to hard reset isn’t easy and doesn’t work, at least not for me. I’ve never written a review before, but these bulbs and their customer service pushed me over the edge.

Total garbage. The app/product has basically been discontinued, the app hasn’t been updated in over a year and the last update bricked the bulbs that not even basic functionality can be achieved. Constant crashing and non-responsiveness. This was a total flop of a product from the beginning yet HomeBrite was ahead of its time using Bluetooth mash tech. Just open this up to developers so people can control the bulbs instead of these flyby night developers your working with.

Works perfectly!. iPhone 6 Plus. A19 standard bulb. Have not had any issues in the four months and I have used it daily. No idea what these other reviews are doing wrong but I'm planning on getting more of these!

Worked fine for a few months.... Worked fine for a few months, actually the schedule functions did, but the dimmer settings did not work. Following the schedules, the flood and standard smart bulbs turned on at full brightness, despite the fact that I programmed a dimmer setting. Then the mesh failed to connect at all, and now the whole system of smart bulbs I have are dead. I'm going to switch to Cree smart bulbs. At least they work as they are supposed to.

Worked great at first. My boyfriend got this for me a few weeks ago. Setup was a little sketchy, got it to connect to his phone flawlessly but took some messing around with the app, deleting it and reinstalling it to get it to work on my phone. Light still turns on with the manual switch but now regardless of what I do it will not connect to my phone again. Have tried everything. Now just have a $10 light bulb with nothing special about it and an app taking up space on my phone.

Still so far. Great! Mesh is faster...where is the widget? Where is the IFTTT integration? Where's the Apple Watch app? There literally isn't a worse "smart bulb" (because smart, these are not) on the market. Look I'm happy the app finally works again after Apple killed the Bluetooth with iOS 10 and then fixed it, but people please spend your hard earned money on any other connected bulb. Make sure Bluetooth is not part of the connected part.

App doesn’t work.. I have had this app and bulb for awhile. I haven’t used it in a few months. I decided to use it again but the app doesn’t load. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and still it begins to open and closes immediately. So until that is fixed I don’t recommend buying their products or downloading this app.

Great idea, poor execution. I thought this was great at first. Probably works well if your Bluetooth device never leaves the room. For weeks I’ve been having problems connecting to the mesh. It never seems to find it. I have to unplug and plug back in the lamp several times to make it finally work. Not exactly how I envisioned it working. The lamp is where I don’t have easy access, so I thought using this would have been the solution. Now I realize I was mistaken. Very disappointed, don’t waste your money like I did!

Since Nov 2017 update can't use app. Until they did their update in Nov 2017 the app worked really well. I had been using it for several years. It wasn't slick or sophisticated but it worked well. Since the update, you are now required to create a log in and password. Upon doing logging in the app closes. I validated OS version was correct. Deleted app, reinstalled....same results. App is now useless and therefore unable to use bulbs. What a waste and shame.

The update doesn’t work. I purchased the product and it worked with ease for the first year. Now that they updated the application my light will not mesh. I followed all the steps and registered a new account, turned off my phone did the light on/off rotation to reset. The light flickered during the mesh, and the app had the retry icon appear. I even went so far as to unplug the bulb and screw it back in. This is annoying now. The help guides aren’t helpful.

Lights were great until this version. My lights have worked great for about a year. Occasionally had to reset the schedule after a power outage but not a big deal. Now with the new version of software they’ve been rendered useless. Can’t reset them, can’t program them. They are basically plain bulbs at this point. I’m pulling all of them tomorrow and putting another brand of bulbs in everywhere.... something that works.

What crap!. My first foray into this type of smart technology. What junk. All it is is an expensive led bulb. App says it can't find bulb. Very disappointed. Update: still a big steaming Pyle of crap. Hasn't worked yet. I'm surprised this company is even able to produce light out this overly expensive crappy product. Update this app. I wish there was a way to say ZERO stars because, at this point this app is worthless. When I bought the light bulbs three years ago, it was great but I have yet to see an app update. The bulbs inconsistently turn on based on the schedule I programmed in the app. The mesh hardly connects to the app. These inconsistencies and lack of updates have eroded my trust in the product and the company brand.

Not ok anymore. Like others, we bought the bulbs and they worked great for a while. But the app crashes every time we try to schedule our bulbs. Totally defeats the purpose of these. We have deleted and reinstalled and that has not solved the issue. I love the concept, but the company does not appear to support the app. That being said, the light bulbs do still work as a standard bulb, albeit expensive ones

Pretty Good. These are just as advertised and work as long as nothing is changed. Some changes have required me to factory reset the bulb itself and then back to working great. Biggest downfall is the ability to control with Alexa, Siri (Home), or Google Home. This feature would make me rate a 5 star.

Works great !!!!. Works great for me. Starting with one bulb. It was up and running, with schedule, in less than two minutes. No problems whatsoever ... will probably get more. I'm a guy, so i didn't read the instructions, of course. Just opened the app (with BT on, and the bulb in powered lamp socket, no dimmer switch in the circuit) and bulb was discovered quickly. Setting schedule is as easy as setting alarm clock on my iphone 6. Doesn't get any easier than this. *** very much like NOT having a cloud-based bulb -- i don't need to have yet more of my personal info on a supposedly secure server somewhere in the ether ***

Terrible product. The concept is great, a reasonably priced bulb that you can set schedules and brightness levels without a "hub" to control them. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work well at all. The app itself is cumbersome at best. I was hoping the most recent update would improve the operation of the system, but it did not. Everything seems to work great when it's first setup. If the bulbs lose power for any reason, it's all done. Schedules no longer function. Resetting the bulbs and reloading the schedules does nothing. You basically have to delete the app, reinstall it, and setup everything again. I've tried to use this for a month, and I'm giving up. These are going back to the store and getting exchanged for the Phillips Hue system.

Garbage. Wasted $48. Bought 3 for my basement because kids are always leaving them on and would be nice to shut off from upstairs. One for bedroom so I could dim from my phone, and turn it off. Initially worked fine. Then after turning them off manually no connection. Now none of them connect. Can't even find them! Uninstalled app, reinstalled app. "Hard reset" the bulbs per instruction and still just stuck on "searching for mesh". Should have just bought regular LED I guess. Great concept, terrible execution.

Help - update the app!. Made the mistake of finally downloading the update from a yr ago. Yes, avoided the update for that long. Worked ok up until i mistakenly downloaded the app yesterday and, boom, forget all functionality with the 20+ bulbs i have. App doesn’t even load now. Feit needs to step up and make this app functional. They sell enough bluetooth bulbs to back up worthwhile updates to their app. Otherwise, these bulbs are overpriced pieces of crap.

Your software is older than my dog. Please for the love of whoever you believe in, just update the software. It was working perfectly fine till my phone updated, and I went to check for any updates and I saw the last time a software update happened was 1 year ago

Working great so far. This experience didn't start well. I had to call the support line. The tech was great though. He explained everything, helped me reset the bulbs manually, and now they work great. If you are having trouble, read their website and if you have to, call support. They are excellent.

Working fine now.. Before the update it take 5 minutes to connect, and now it connects right away. It amazing, but at the same time it isn’t horrible; it’s just okay.

App in iPhone doesn’t work. It’s a good thing I was able to download the app and operate the bulbs on my iPad, because the app on my iPhone 11 shuts off when I try to log in. Every so often one bulb will turn on by itself in the daytime and won’t shut off during the scheduled time off period. Wasting electricity! This is not a “set it and forget it” type of product

The App No Longer Works. If You Own A HomeBrite Smart Bulb It Is Just A Standard Light Bulb Now. The App has not been updated in years and will immediate crash when launching on iphone and ipad. It appears that there is no longer support for the homebrite bulb. If You Own One it is just a Standard Light Bulb now. My only option is to replace the home brite smart led bulbs with brand new smart bulbs from a different Manufacturer. Won’t buy from feit electric again.

turns itself on defeats purpose. The bulbs turn their self on when Im not home. Wasting my electricity. I tried to update the schedule and did successfully but the bulbs still don’t follow the schedule. Even if I turn the schedule off completely the bulbs still turn their self on. I often come home from work and the lights been on all day. Its not wireless only bluetooth so I can’t control this unless Im hime. Defeats the purpose. Don’t waste your money.

Too long to connect. The lights take too long connecting to the app on my phone I sit there and wait when I simply can just go to the lamp turn it on and use a dimmer switch it to go over 60 seconds just to turn on the light when I walked into the room. That does not seem like a long time but when you go into a room he sort of want to be able to just turn on the switch and have your light come on so you can get going on your day

Worked for a bit, now I just have light bulbs. Guessing this company went belly up with the pandemic. I’ve had a se of about 8 bulbs around my home for a few years which required unstalling and re-installing every few months but worked ok. Since Spring last year they’ve turned in to just regular light bulbs as the app went from shutting down as soon as I tried open my account to now not even opening up.

Leaving me in the dark. Bought two bulbs worked great. As soon as I tried to tie my iPad into the two bulbs that was it they now loner can be found but via blue tooth. I've sent emails and emails and no one had contacted me. I've done what the website says about the 18 sec 4 times hard reset and nothing. Looking for receipt and need to take them back since they seem to not want to listen to their customers

Useless. Worked great for less than a week, then it prompted me to log into the account that was created when I first set it up, entered the information and now the app just crashes immediately upon opening. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app several times with no success. Even tried installing it on another phone and it won't connect to the light. It's going back to the store.

Was great before the update. We have 8 of these bulbs and when we first got them everything worked great. My spouse and I could both control the same bulbs and everything worked. Now with the updated app, nothing works. If I link to a bulb, my husband can’t and visa-versa and some of the bulbs won’t link to either of us. It’s really annoying so we plan on junking them at this point. Sad they ruined a good thing.

Dumbest smart bulbs (& developers) ever. Update to my previous review: Good news-They updated their app. Bad news- Those of us stupid enough to buy them previously have to reconfigure ALL of our bulbs/groups/schedules/etc in order to find out what the NEW bugs will be. I was foolish enough to buy a bunch so...Fun! Previous review: I really wanted to love these bulbs and have tried multiple ways to get them to work, but they are just not smart, and the app is super buggy. Don't waste time here, try another solution for automated lighting.

Iffy. Not user-friendly. This latest update 2.0 broke everything. Can't create a schedule, can't get the bulbs to scan in the mesh. You have to turn the power off to each bulb to reset it in the app. C'mon Feit you should be able to write a better app than this. I only give two stars because the last version of the app was finally reliable. Now I'm starting all over and can't get the bulbs to respond properly.

This is an update?. I downloaded this app because the Feit website said this was an updated version of their older app that was having some issues and to delete the older version, follow some steps and reconnect the light bulbs. It is not as user friendly, limited navigation, cannot connect any bulbs, and the “message center” alerts you of messages, but you can’t access them to read it, just a notice that they’re there. Beyond disappointed, the older app had a lot of potential, this one is garbage.
