Great dictionary. I really like this Longman dictionary but I hope there will be a massive and wonderful update as soon as possible which this dic really need it. Thank you so much for your beautiful and useful App that it makes learning English easier.

iPad app problems. Hello I've bought LDOCE6 for iOS and installed it on both iPad and iPhone .Everything is Ok in iPhone app, but I see some problems in the iPad app : 1) There is only "landscape screen mode" in the iPad app. It's difficult to use the app only in a "landscape screen". Many users prefer to use in a "normal screen, not landscape". 2) Pronounce of a word (U.K or U.S) does not work in the iPad app and I don't hear any voice after touching that ! So please solve the iPad app problems. Sincerely Mohammad

The new version is even worse!. I’ve been using this app for a long time. The last update took away all the searching options. We used to be able to search idioms, expressions and phrasal verbs but now, the only available search option is the head word. And now, this new version is literally broken. The definitions are not complete. They aren’t even finished, let alone defining! It seems like a huge bug, and has made the app almost entirely useless. As a user who paid A LOT for this app years ago, I’m not satisfied AT ALL.

Apps not working. This app and Longman Advanced American Dictionary used to be the best purchases I have ever made till the update of IOS 17. I realized that suddenly the second app no longer exists in the app store and LDOCE doesn't work properly. I paid money for both apps that were supposed to be available and it was said to be a one-time payment. Now not only it's forcing us to get a new app but also expects us to pay for the new app. It doesn't sound right. And there is no response to emails.

Features not there!. 1- Database is much smaller than the previous version. Disappointed. 2- Some features, like voice search button, are missing on iPhone SE. The devs MUST have stated the fact that screen size affects the amount of features you get for THE SAME AMOUNT OF MONEY

It doesn’t work. Hi by all my family we tried to find a word like Eccentric but it didn’t work. Thanks to God that I have not deleted the last version LDOCE+ (5) but the question is that why you deleted the last version? So why you don’t support the new version even update. I thought that you either sensitive or supportive for your customers by taking this amount of money.

Used to be the best. Newer versions are meant to be better and improved not worse and abbreviated. The previous version was much better, heavily loaded with information and entries and updated on regular basis. Now, even the definition of some words can’t be read unless you copy the word to clipboard and paste it somewhere else. There is no reference to synonyms or antonyms; to mention but a few. People responsible for such an update must be questioned. l’m bitterly disappointed.

Everything's fine. All works fine for me and the good point is that it's completely offline. Although speaking the sentences needs internet connection

App seems to be abandoned!. This was supposed to be a substitute app for the online version of Longman Advanced American Dictionary website. The website was retired and now they force everyone to go to the advertisement LDOCE webpage. You will have to watch a ton of adds just to look up one word ! These people have no shame . I paid a lot of money for my Longman Apps.

Half of the definition is missing. This app has always been very informative and user-friendly, but Right after the latest update, whenever I search a word and it starts defining, half of the definition sentence is missing. The example sentences, however, are there and correct. I hope this gets fixed soon.

No sound for pronounciation. I don’t know why. No sound. Anybody else has the same issue?

Offline version is important!. Thanks for updating the app. But yet, when I use the “back arrow”, it turns to the search page, not to the previous word.

Want LDOCE+ back!. I purchased the LDOCE+ for almost 30$ and all of a sudden it is removed from the app store! I even sent an email to the developer but they did not reply. Why should I pay again for something I’ve already bought?! This one is not even close to LDOCE+ and doesn’t have many of the features.

Don’t have most words that I need help with. This dictionary has very limited vocabulary, I used to get longman perhaps a year or two ago with better vocabulary, then I had a new phone, all of a sudden I couldn’t find the old longman, mistakenly, i downloaded this dictionary and purchased the service, it does not worse the money at all. Not even close to what I expected from it. Don’t waste your money on this one!

terrible resolution. this version has a terrible resolution on iOS10, and this is unbearable to iphone view. Please fix it. But, the content is still good enough to use, 3 stars were given to this part.

Need update to iCloud backup!!. It doesn't work after I backup my iPhone to my computer! I try search words but every word I search cannot be found. Also, it doesn't give definitions of the words I saved or bookmarked as favorites. Please solve that issue! Thank

Recent update is terrible. Unfortunately in recent update, sentences do not appear fully even if the user scrolls the page or widens it. Please make another update for the software. I am using this on iPhone 6s and have got some issues regarding using this software.

Looking forward to LDOCE5 features. - No Split screen in iPad - No phrasal verb search I'm a LDOCE5 lover. After thinking for a couple of weeks, I made my mind to buy this worse version. Without "phrase search" you get no result for very basic search query such as "look forward" and it's disappointing. The only reason that I bought this app was to support LDOCE team. Please update your app!

Disappointed. I have been a user of LDOCE PLUS for years. Suddenly, I found the application not working. I tried to reinstall the app, hoping the problem would be solved; however, it was no longer available. I paid for that application years ago, and I’m wondering how this happened. Awful. It used to be the best application that I have ever paid this much and been satisfied about; meanings, examples, everything, But they neglected to update it for more than 2 years, and it literally doesn’t fit the screen of iphone X or even the plus phone. Not working recently. Best dictionary in my opinion, but unfortunately it doesn't work for my 32bit iPhone 5, with iOS 10.3.3 version. I'm using the last version of the map and don't know what to do more I cant go back to previous versions too. I'm really sad Please HELP

Bug in ios16. There’s a bug in ios16 , since I updated my ios , this app hasn’t worked well , I can’t seatch word directly in search line and every time I want to search word I have to click on search icon in menu bar!! Please fix the bug. Thanks.

Bugs. There are major problems: 1. The search box is locked. You can’t type when you open the app. 2. Unlike Longman version 5, this one doesn’t show collocation suggestions.

A new story!. I don’t know why in each update there is another new bug! Now the words definitions are not complete! It is unbelievable!

Searching bug. There is a problem, when you want to search a new word then searching panel will shrink in height and it is impossible to write there!

No Update. I bought this dictionary,cause i loved and used daily life,but it seems the developer wants to neglect the users, It’s been two years since the last version of this app, Apple has to take out from the store

Improvement and my 2 suggestions. Suggestion 1. It is too hard to access the word information, verb table, and thesaurus, which are all hidden under the "i" button. Those information are so useful, and the design makes me feel inconvenient in comparison to the LDOCE5. I suggest to move those information to the very top of the interface. Suggestion 2. The status bar is all-black when using the app. At least shows the time and the battery. Other than these, I think this app is pretty robust. But before you fix it, I will still suggest others to stay on LDOCE5.

Search issues. When I want to search something, search icon doesn't work, so have to go to menu and have to tap search icon and it only works in that way for one word. If I want to search another word, I have to go to menu and have to tap search again. To add insults to injuries, half of search bar is covered by its oulines contents. So I can't tap on search bar to find next new word and I have had it here with this search icon issue all the time. So may I suuggest to check the app carrfully before launching it. I would be happy if you guys fix it in the shortest time. Bcoz I rely on this diction.. App. Thanks.

Horrible, horrible, horrible.. I just don't know why you thought there is a need for a 6th edition. The 5th was the best of all. It was actually my favorite dictionary and now regret that I bought this poor one. Less content. Also, If I want to l want to know about a word info I have to click, then a stupid notification pops up and say something around "do you want to see the word information?" Well, hell yea I want to. The layout is not at all user-friendly. I wish there was zero stars, because one star is a lot for it.

pronunciation sounds hear problem. Please give a option for saving bookmarks on email or other format

One of my favorites right now. I really find this dictionary app super helpful. It’s usually my go to and love that it has a history feature, can play example sentences and has decent derivations. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because I wish it had a portrait/vertical orientation on the iPad like it does on the iPhone.

Examples speak in American English. Most of the sentences are spoken in British. Is it possible to just speak in American English? Allow to select American English link? If developers can make this possible. It will be 5 stars. 7/8/18 APPS Crashed in OS 11.4. Need help!

Needs improvement. Im using this dictionary for years, honestly speaking, LDOCE was much better and simpler, i need the quick access to collocations and phrasal verbs . I hope in new update we’ll be able to have a quick access to the phrasal verbs.

Its days are numbered. It's been getting trashier by the day since inception. Lots of glitches on iOS 16. —The Search function doesn’t work at all —The Search field is also partially “covered” by the other UI layout features —The entire app will crash when selecting any random letter from the list Multiple other issues I’m not going to waste my time on mentioning since it’s this app’s developer’s job. I’m planning to ask for a refund since I’m not getting the service I paid for from this app. Longman used to be one of the best. It’s now Merriam-Webster that’s the best by far

Is this new update a joke!. If it is, then I am not amused!!! Good dictionary. It takes too long to reach the main page. The cover image of this app runs for too long. I really would like to go straight to the search engine when I click on the app.

Please give back the OLD VERSION. I paid so much for this apps and the new version completely disappointed me. The background causes eyestrain while the information is hard to find quickly. The pronounciation part is no need to be hidden in information box. And the worst thing is that we have to extend some catalog to find what we want!!! So many disappointed improvements.

Pronunciation doesn’t work. When you search a word and click on the pronunciation, there is no sound.

Old version is better. Bought the new version thinking it would be an upgrade from LDOCE 5 but it isn't. It is slower and definitions are not as complete. Buy LDOCE 5 instead.

Poor upgrade. This isn't a bad dictionary necessarily. However it was much better in terms of content, example sentences and word information last time. After the new update which changes the interface unnecessarily, half of the content and entry information is gone as well. Why would they reduce the content of something that has already been paid for?

Great dictionary, Good feature, Keep Crashing. With even the newest update that supports iOS9, it crashes on iPad Air but it works on iPad 2 (both are running iOS 9.1). I use 4 dicionary appsand this is the only app that keeps on crashing even after a couple of months since the new OS is released.

Need LDOCE+ Back. Arrangement of the words and access to the phrasal verbs and Idioms in LDOCE is so much better than this application. I paid for LDOCE+ and asked to restore my purchase, but they recommended me (In response to my email) to use this free one.I never thought that longman dictionary remove my access to the paid LDOCE+, I am not happy with such behaviour from a reputable dictionary.

The new version does corporate with ios9, but the size of the apps in the past was 1.2GB, currently, is only 30 MB, and every time check everything need to connect to the Internet, if this happen why should spend 30 dollars to buy your app? I could only use your website dictionary! And the importance of vocabulary becomes vague,and the size of the character is tooooo small. If the publisher will not update the version and will not keep the quality as the 5th edition's, I really need the publisher refund my money back!!!

Do not waste your money. It doesn't work like other versions. It doesn't have hint option like LDOCE5 . If you don't know the spelling you cannot find it. They should call this app LDOCE 0 instead of 6. They should have improved it or at least made it like other versions before lunching it in App Store. Unbelievable downgrade!!!. Comparing with 5th edition , it's a disappointed app for its fewer content and functions. And I doubt that an app with only 36.5M size is better than another one with 1.2G size. It's not worth to buy, let alone the price of it is $34.99.

no phrasal verbs. The 6th addition is a huge step down. I didn't find any new useful features but I have been deprived of the search of phrasal verbs. Actually, it was the main feature I appreciated and the reason I have chosen this dictionary over the others many years ago. I'm disappointed and don't recommend to buy the 6th addition before it is improved.

Lovable ❤️. Best English dictionary app ever

A very impoverished version. This new version is clearly a very impoverished version. The version I paid for was an advanced user version of the dictionary. I have bought several applications of this type from the best publishers, after a year or two they stop working or will disappear just like this one. It should be clear to the user that when he buys a dictionary he only buys a brief and indeterminate period of service.

Audio content not available. Audio prononciation does not work. LOCDE + was much better. Why don’t you restore it ! Disappointing !

We were all in love with Longman dictionary of contemporary 5th version design and personally i happily and proudly never used any other dict, i was a huge fan, but now a fixed horizontal view a real solid flawless trash. it seems you just needed and were forced to release an update though it was worst thing to do...why do you keep just hiding our comments by a trivial change to new failed and notorious version to sell ...while easily you can admit and acknowledge this new version is just not what it was supposed to be then you can give us hope to use again our favorite dictionary. Please don't dash our hope...

It's been better.. Unfortunately there are a handful of bugs that are affecting the app's previous simplicity and efficiency. For instance a word's basic info like the pronunciation, which most likely is what the learner looks for firstly in their query, can only be accessed through pressing several bottons (the "i" button) which gets super-irritating in extensive use. The verbal pronunciation has turned into an "option" since you can only use it on cellular or wifi. Status bar goes black while the app's open. Instead of putting the app's different sections like history and favs,right on the bottom as a standard and straightforward way for use, they've all been transferred into a section called home which again, needs the user to follow through what feels to be a long path for accessing in extensive, every-minute use. I wouldn't expect the most expensive dictionary on app store to get this hard to use, specially for a long-awaited update. Hope the issues get resolved.

Shame on new version. The new version is completely disappointing. The last version was full of precious features that this new version lacks. The more i use this version the more i hate it. Miraculous features of last version such as bookmarks, search in sentence examples, note taking for every individual word, offline pronunciation, elegant design and colors, search in system dic or other dic, to name but a few, all and all are lost in this new shameful version. All these are obvious by compering their sizes, the last version 1.2 GB while the new version is only 30MB, i wish i had not updated to iOS9 so that i could use last version, i hope the developer bring back the last version. Shame on new version.

The worst update. The new 6th edition dosent seem to work properly. The information isn’t enough and sometimes the explanation is cut mid sentence. The 5th edition was the best. Please change this edition.

Fraud!!. One of the best features of the version five was that you could bookmark words and test yourself later, here all u have is useless favorites list that does not have the testing feature, the fact that you have to have an internet connection in order to use the app is NOT FAIR for those who paid for the previous one which had everything offline!!! I paid for features which have been removed now!!! What is really crazy is that Enfour has a longman dic with all the features i want but i have to pay another 30 dollars to buy it!!! A huge waste. I used to be a big fan of the old LDOCE 5 dictionary. So I thought I might go ahead and give this one a try and I'm utterly dissatisfied with the result. Not only there's not one of the old version's features, it also crashes all the time, the audio doesn't work at all on my ios 10 and many definitions don't include examples as opposed to previous version. I hope these issues will be fixed in the future updates, or else it would be a huge waste of money. The money I could have spent on a quite fair dictionary. Avoid at all costs unless they fix these bugs and make it as perfect as LDOCE 5!

The app does not work with ios 11.2.2 version. Does not work with ios 11.2.2; the developer has been taking very long time to update the app.

Sunland learner. This version is the worse upgrade I have ever seen in a dictionary. The whole target of the developers was to try to provide less content and reduce space, no consideration to how useful the final product was. I doubt that this was shown to any real users before release, they would have cried foul immediately. The design is dull and lacks personality. There are no sentence examples that are critical for the correct understanding of any word, they have been eliminated completely. The data on the word, like derivations and Theasurus data has to be dig, instead of being readly available. The graphics are so ridiculous and small that are laughable, they look cheap and old, and there are far less than before. The pronunciation is available only on-line. Etc. Etc. I hope that this upgrade will be rolled back and reworked. As it is, I cannot recomend it anymore.

Very poor. It used to be a decent app. All these years some unwanted updates totally ruined it. Now it just keeps crashing on my 6s.

The new version 7.4.2 is defective. The new version keeps kicking me out of the app. The previous version worked well.
