Very good magazine. I have been pleasantly surprised. I haven't read this magazine before. The content is well presented and the interactive features are well done.

Good food. Great little cooking magazine. I'm in the USA and don't see the mag here in the bookstores, I'm happy I can get it on my iPad!! Is great!!!!!! Love the app and love the magazine.

Cannot access any of my content. The updated app restores my purchases, let’s me download - but is completely unreadable! Please fix.

Love the app but subscription through iTunes is buggy. I have had multiple issues when I purchase my subscription through iTunes. After the last time - when apple couldn't figure out how to fix it I finally got a refund and now subscribe through the magazine directly. Haven't had a single issue since.

Love Good Food. This is my favorite magazine and I would have given you five stars but the March 2011 copy will not open. Other than that I like buying them as they are now.

Smart packaging of content. Really well done! More than a digital rendering of the magazine, the Good Food app makes good use of technology. Love the way pictures and related recipes are bundled, allowing the pictures to really pop.

Best cooking/baking ideas. Love this magazine always find useful and imaginative recipes!

Not Liking New Version. I can only download past issues one page at a time, and, if that wasn't bad enough, each page take 30 seconds to load. There is no way to download the whole issue and read without internet access.

Really nice. I love the recipes, however the APP was confusing for me I need to slow down and read better I think. All the pictures are beautiful and I have fun trying to make my food look like the pictures. Thank you for the great book.

Good when it works. I keeps crashing on me after the last update. If not for that, it would be a 5 star app. People who complain about the price - get over it. Almost all magazine apps are priced the same way.

A yummy read. So excited with my good food mag on my iPad, it is fun, colourful, fabby recipes and love the videos/ interactive stuff! Impatient for each issue!

Nice digital version with some smart use of the iPad. At the app is free and the magazines not, is logical. Why would we get free magazines? We all know the Apple system. Free apps but in-app content is not free. Works fine for me. The GF magazine is great as ever. And I really like the idea of being able to browse through the magazine without the recipes "getting in the way", but still just a tap away. With some videos, could be more, and links, it's great.

HORRIBLE & ANNOYING!!!. I purchased one issue, and thank goodness it was just one. I am beyond frustrated and annoyed that it has taken hours to download this issue. It took so long, I fell asleep and continued the download the next day. Painfully one by one... and each and every page takes at least two to three minutes to load. Never again! EVER!

Good Food is Great Food. I so enjoy this magazine. It is comprehensive and user friendly. I download it faithfully every month and shall continue to do so.

Slow loading.. I used to like, but with each up grade it has got slower and slower. Or it doesn’t load at all. Now it is a waste of money.

Mrs. Great magazine! Plenty of good and easy recipes with easy to follow instructions and ingredients that are not difficult to track down even here in South Africa! Digital copy much cheaper for me than the print copy which I have been buying for the past 4 or so years. Thanks for making this available.

Good Food Magazine. Wonderful recipes...great app. I live in the USA...this is a wonderful little recipe magazine...have tried many of them!

Enjoy this app. Was so glad when app came out. I have magazine subscription but comes end of month, with app can down load long before magazine arrives.

Brilliant app. I have loved this mag for years and think that the iPad app is brilliant,the recipes are so good and always seem to work for me,love it.

Bookmarks. Trying to look at things your have bookmarked closes the app. This is crazy annoying, it takes an age to find what you previously were looking at. Contacted through app to point out fault, no response. If that worked it would be 5*.

I wish I hadn't updated the app. The latest update is painful. Instead of being able to download the whole issue to read through, I now have to wait for each page to slowly load as I flip through. This is not an enjoyable reading experience! I also lost my saved articles from previous issues. If this does not get changed I will discontinue my subscription.

Great food magazine!. I'm a long-time subscriber to the print edition. As a US-based reader, this app is much easier and cheaper than a print sub.

Great for ex-pats too!. Having recently moved to the USA for my job I was so pleased that I could continue to read Good Food magazine for such a reasonable price! US stores do sell the paper copy but for a silly amount of money which is hard to justify but I will continue to read Good Food via this app instead, thank you Good Food magazine for a job well done.

Crashes. This update opens and crashes immediately on my iPad. “More stable”? I think not!

Great. It has everything I want, the recipes have never failed so far. Great magazine.

Excellent app. Have always loved this magazine, living in US I can't always find it in stores, and it's always pricey. This is a great way to get the content.

Great Magazine. The magazine is excellent but it needs an index or contents page on the iPad so you can quickly get to recipes. Once you have several additions it becomes difficult. The main problem is with subscription, I have bought a year subscription from iTunes, it says I am subscribed but I cannot get the issues without paying for it again. iTunes tell me it is the good food mag who are the developer and I must go to them, they push me back to iTunes. iTunes refunded my money and said buy it again, but it still says I am subscribed. I emailed the developer, an email address at good food mag and they could not even be bothered to reply. I have now bought a subscription from good food direct and still cannot get the latest mag. Very frustrating.

good food. I downloaded this and there is one free magazine that have recipes, etc. It's not any different than the Martha Stewart app, 1 free magazine is all you get. If you are looking for a super great app, get the Big Oven app. It only has recipes, but the pictures are beautiful and there are thousands of recipes, all for free.

Do not waste your time. Having a printed subscription is still the way to go. There is a serious downside to the app. There is no way to print directly from the app. There is no way to backup the issues you access to your computer. If you change iPad or upgrade your iPad you need to download all the issues again. That is assuming you can download them again. Downloads are extremely slow. You must tell it to download each issue because there is no download queue. What is the sense of the "restore previous purchased issues" when it will not and can not do that? They do not understand "Restore Previous Purchases". There are missing issues. Most of the embedded videos are broken. This new version does not have the same functionality that the previous version had. This is a cookbook and not a magazine. This is not what I purchase back in 2011, 2012 and 2013. There is no customer support.

Used to love it. Not sure what happened with the last update, but I can’t get an issue to download. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling without success. Disappointed and ready to cancel my subscription

Good food mag. I think the magazine app is great. I have made several recipes out of the magazines and really enjoy the ability to have UK recipes so easily at my finger tips.

Mrs. Definitely a plus if you're already a subscriber, great pictures and features. Would love to see more tutorial videos of techniques by the featured chefs.

Great app!!. This is one of the best magazine apps I've found. It loads a little slow but the wait is worth it. The photos are beautiful, the recipes easy and delicious, and all the functionality works as advertised. It's a really great app. Thank you!

Great Food!. Since I can't subscribe to the magazine in the States, this is the next best thing, and less than half the newsstand price without the ads! Great content, wonderful recipes! A keeper.

Latest issues don't appear.. Despite my subscription and having the latest version of this app and iOS, the latest issues of the magazine are not available within the app. Customer service merely states that they should appear, but cannot help me beyond that. The content is good. I do still access to my back issues, but I PAID for the next year. Very disappointing.

I like. They give you the option of downloading two sample issues and it seems like an awesome mag/app. I love all the cool little features that it has and the yummy looking recipes. I would subscribe but 40 bucks for a year is steep. So I think I'll just hand pick the issues I'd like o buy.

Best Recipes Ever. First off, these are the best recipes I've seen in any magazine. It's a huge selection in each issue; way more than other magazines that are filled with advertisements or other "fillers". The only possible complaint is that it doesn't have as many interactive features as other magazines but the videos that do exist are very useful and cover helpful basic cooking skills.

Great App. Really brilliant. Now we get to keep all those recipes portably and share with friends. Love the opening graphics too.

Content great. App horrible. I’ve had this since 2013 and rely on it as my go to for healthy eating and planning menus. There are great recipes with full nutritional information (that’s why you fail NYT cooking). A nice mix of quick and easy along with longer cooking times for someone who works, but does all the cooking. The app, however, is abominable. Pages, even on a downloaded issue, load so slow. Before the page loads, swiping left and right works, but nothing else, so you end up going to a different recipe instead of scrolling down to the one you wanted. 21 seconds from tap to loaded? Are you joking? Bookmarks from the previous version are gone. Stop doing this. Only the content from the most recent “upgrade” is searchable - which is also abysmally slow. Bookmarks used to be sorted by when you added the page. This meant I could go back to my bookmarks, unflag and reflag to pop a recipe to the top. Very helpful in menu planning for the week and seeing what I haven’t made in awhile. Bookmarks page will sometimes not load with just an error. Most of my library is now digital screen shots. This increases the time it takes to find a recipe in the bookmarks. Didn’t need a dark mode Features needed: Elastic search that uses tags like the categories in instant recipe finder. I don’t want every recipe that mentions rice when trying to make stir-fry rice. Print recipe. If I’m cooking a big meal, switching recipes is a pain. Printing screen shots is a waste because of the layout. Recipe feedback. There are recipes which have errors like missing the ingredients. December 2022, warm winter bean salad. Other recipes list an ingredient but don’t use it in the instructions. Shopping list (used to have this) Unit converter. The old issues have metric and English units.

Excellent Content. Crappy App. Indexing terrible. Navigation Abysmal. No shopping list or print options. Content Exceptional. ‘nuff said.

New version issues. Was forced to upgrade version, and now have no access to mags. Looks like not validating iTunes account, and wants me to log in. Called app developer...they say call apple. (They also don't respond to emails) new version looks horrible anyway, and a step backwards. Would rather get a refund if someone would talk to me!

Great mag. One of the best cooking magazines out there! I've bought it at full cover price on the newsstand for years. Just something about the way they presented all.

What happened to my subscription?. I subscribed and the issues will not download and instead I need to pay $5.99 for the magazine? Something is wrong with this app. Other than this, great app and content.

This app has good days and bad days.... Mostly slow to download, and the mag/app crashes frequently. I might have to o back to the paper subscription if this continues. Love the magazine otherwise. Perhaps the developers head is in the fog.

Online subscription?. I would like to purchase an online subscription only rather than buying each month individually. I would give it a higher rating if I could do that.

Good Resource. Recipes are easy to complete and results are consistent. Will continue to review and prepare some really good products.

My favorite app!. This is the stella app of all time and imagine my delight as a foodie that it is the best! It's functionality is fantastic. It's the app I go to when I'm showing off my iPad to friends.

Time consuming and unusable. No easy way to find the magazines I've purchased. A library? Terrible to try and use. I haven't bought any magazines for a while, and won't be wasting any more of my money.

It's ok. It's ok but not really what I was looking for or expected

Poor. I paid for the subscription two weeks ago and am yet to be able to view any content. I now need to navigate how to unsubscribe, wary of my chances. I'm very disappointed. In my opinion a desperately bad service.

Great. Brilliant for those of us that live abroad and can only get old, overpriced copies of the print versions. Well laid out, easy to use. Extras such as videos etc. Good value.

Can there be a tech update in a future issue?. Fiona the foodie again. Saw a comment about difficulty in loading the issues already bought onto a new iPad. This needs to get sorted, as I had to re-buy a couple of issues when I upgraded my operating system. How about a technical tips and tricks section in the app? This probably shows how much I love this app, do loads of others. The videos are just fabulous.

Good Food. Have been a fan of Good Food for many, many years - now this app allows me to get the issues when published even though I now live in Australia.

Still Awaiting Log In Codes. Read the reviews, viewed the first free edition and then Bought 6 month subscription for Ipad 2 through I Tunes. Got the first download no problems however I haven't received log in codes to download the2nd issue. Have emailed customer support got automated reply and another reply from "the emeil response team" telling me my email has been forwarded on. Will keep you posted. Second Edition has downloaded now, much happier. Visuals and content good, customer support slow.

Ok. It's okay. Not the right type of mag for me. Just my preference really.

BBC Good Food. The new app has many new features but how will any user know? Whenever I launch the app after getting the April 2020 issue, it simply crashes on opening. I cannot see any of my issues anymore. I am using iOS 12 on an iPad Air. This cannot be right, Thank you for your reply. Sadly, I cannot open the app. As soon as it launches (after 15 secs or so) it closes again. I do not see anything apart from the splash screen. As there as been no resolution to this issue I am forced to cancel. Since I can not see any of the nine years of issues I will seek a refund. An application that tries to open and then crashes is no great way to see anything (online or not).kind regards. Alan

Won’t load. The app isn’t loading and keeps crashing since last updates. Please fix as I can’t use this app at all.

Mrs. Immensely frustrating. Constantly refuses to accept my login details, have emailed them regarding it and have had no response. A great idea in theory.

Great app. Great recipes. Tried a few and pleased with the results. Everyone loved the dishes I cooked! The app is easy to use.

Worst app for the magazine. Magazine and recipes are great. However the app is terrible. So slow takes ages to load anything. The clock through contents page links NEVER work unless the issue is downloaded for offline use. Downloading issues takes ages and if you leave the app does not continue to download. Want the subscription that I pay for but not if it’s to use with this version of the app!

The cost of the in app magazines doubled in two weeks. In apps are not transferrable.. The app is great - the photos, the recipes, the way the magazines are presented - love it! Got frustrated though by the fact that after I downloaded almost all the issues, I received an iPad 2 as a birthday present and surely the first thing I wanted to have there was my Good Food. Each issue cost me $2.99, so went throughout the developer web site to learn about in app purchases but didn't find any warnings about transferring magazines. Didn't really find any definite info on the Internet except for replenishable and non-replenishable purchases but nothing about what categories magazines fall under. So decided to download he magazines on the new iPad and got charged again. I think the developers should put a clear note regarding transferring the magazines to another iPad. Finally I decided to spend the money again as I love the magazine, and it's now $5.49 per issue comparing to $2.99 I paid two weeks ago!!! This is really steep. Sorry, I'm not prepared to re-purchase what I already bought for almost twice as much.

No more waiting!. Loving being able to get my hands on this magazine on my iPad. Much quicker than waiting for it to arrive in Australia (we're 2 months behind the current UK edition). Hope they come up with some way of bookmarking specific recipes down the track, to make searching quicker.

Vibrant. Love that I no longer have to wait two months for the current issue to arrive in Australia. The pictures are so vibrant, love all the little extras, like the videos and shopping lists. Much easier to store that my ever increasing collection of cooking mags.

Even better than paper!. Already a paper subscriber but love the iPad version as you can search all assure for a recipe which was always my biggest problem with the paper ones, finding then recipes I liked! Also takes up a lot less room on my book shelf now and I just pop my iPad into the clear plastic recipe book holder to cook with.

Brilliant!. Absolutely LOVE this magazine. I enjoy food and cooking and this is one of my favourite mags. I anxiously await each edition and cook many recipes from it. The recipes never fail.

Worth the money. This is a great app, no doubt about it. I do find navigating around between recipes and issues a bit tedious but that could just be me. Then again, it could actually be a bit tedious and it might not be me... Either way, it's still good. I don't give 5 star ratings to anything anyway.

Best magazine. Have plenty of food apps but this is my favourite

The downloading issues. I love the magazine. But the app is a horror. The issues don’t download in the background, meaning I need to keep the app and the screen running for EACH AND EVERY issue. And they take hours. This got to be fixed.

Good food. My favorite magazine, I have been reading it since it first came out and have years of the magazine in my basement.

Almost perfect. Fantastic app, mostly great recipes, but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get my iPad to synch without deleting this app every single time in its entirety forcing me to reinstall it and redownload all the previously downloaded issues... which is really really annoying!

Great Magazine. The app works well except for the print restrictions, I like to keep a hardcopy of special recipes and the app forces me to choose between a print copy $10.99 in Canada vs. $4.99 for the app version.

Impressive. I'm impressed with this app. It seems to me excellent. I have found some mistakes, however, which is why I didn't give it a five-star rating. But it's early days yet. My father told me 20 years ago that one day we'd be using a computer in the kitchen to find and read recipes. I didn't think he was right nor did I think it would be as good as this.

Terrific!. This is one of my favourite magazines. The recipes and photos are wonderful, and it's nice to have a change from North American perspective. Only one small problem that I have with this, and most digital magazines, is the inability to copy and/or edit text. I have never been able to complete a single recipe in my entire life without modifying something, and it would be convenient to do it right on the pages. All in all this is great app and a lovely magazine.

They've thought about this. Previous views: A great magazine and this app is not just a paper magazine format reproduced in electronic format: they've properly engaged brain to develop a format suitable for iPads etc. It is very easy to follow & the content is as good as ever. Impressive: 5 stars Post iOS7 download: freezes whenever I try to open it with the current magazine (which I want to download) all blacked out. As everything freezes I can't even find a way of contacting them to get it fixed. Frustrating as it's a very well thought out app... when it works!

Update. I have not been able to update the app and it's been stuck in the waiting stage which has been incredibly frustrating. I'm also unable to delete the app in order to reload it.

Thrilled. Very happy with being able to subscribe electronically. I have long wanted to subscribe, but being overseas it was cost prohibitive. I have many back issues, but had stopped buying the physical magazine due to space constraints. I'm looking forward to many great meals :)

Food!!. Really enjoy it!

Exquisite. This magazine is proof that the British do know how to cook good food. I was introduced to Good Food back in 1991, after being transferred to the uk for business. At that time they didn't have subscriptions but I could have it delivered by my local news agent. When we returned to Canada I had to have all of my saved copies of my favorite magazine return too. I have always kept them because I refer to them whenever I'm looking for a particular British recipe. Then I was gifted an iPad and looking up recipes is so much easier, I wouldn't be without my copies both hard copy and digital. (I must admit that I do go to my local book store and buy the occasional 'good Food', hard copy.

Excellent quality. I used to get the print copies in Canada and now find the ipad version to be just as good, however would like to see printing capabilities at some point.

Love it. Expensive magazine in hard copy in Canada. Great way to get Good Food.

Disappointed. There is no way to save recipes anymore. This means that in order to find a favourite, I have to wade through pages and pages of back issues. Most annoying. Why did they do away with that feature? Regular cookbooks at least have an index!

Goodfood Magazine. This is a great app, i enjoy it more than the printed magazine. However I am tired of having to download updated versions nearly every month it seems. In my location in Canada my Internet charges are expensive ! Anyway I'm deducting a star, otherwise totally happy.

Download hell. I don’t know what has happened to this app. It takes repeated tries over the course of two weeks to download a single issue to my iPad. I read the magazine offline, while traveling or camping. Or, I used to be able to do so...

This app does not work. Paid for current issue and after 10 tries at opening it, gave up. Continuously crashes. Cover art appears and then the app spontaneously closes.

Disappointing. Poor app , great magazine, it is unfortunate. I subscribed since 2018 on kindle through Amazon, which is no longer supported. Tried this through immediate media , another terrible service! No choice but to cancel

Great. I love this magazine. I have searched all over my city to find and now I can just download.

So far, it is good, but not great. I love the way the app looks and the way you can page through the issues, choosing meal types as you go. Pictures, recipe instructions and navigation are all excellent. But I have had to call the helpline twice. The first time I could not log in, and the second I could not access the current issue of the magazine, even though I was logged in at the time. For me, though, the major problem is response time when searching or trying to open a recipe once I have found it through a search. Also, I have not found clear instructions on how to use the binder facility and have not been able to add a recipe to it. I hope these shortcomings will be overcome soon, as this app has great potential.

Forced to subscribe, now can't download new issue unless I pay 5 bucks. Not sure why theyve messed with this formerly great app. Disappointed. They need to fix this pronto.

5 stars. Love the site, recipes are easy to follow and being vegetarian, there are loads that are suitable. Glad for the iTunes apps also! It makes cooking fun (eating too :).

Not free!!!. Very misleading. Once you download this "free" app, there is a monthly subscription fee!!! Do not download thinking its free - its not. I'd give it zero stars if that were an option.
