Great app, minimal ads. The other apps give you no option but to watch ads every 2 seconds if you don't pay, this one doesn't. Great for learning phrases or translation of single words.

German Translator. I have purchased the Premium version. I use this religiously for translation, variances in English to German sentence construction due to differences in how we might express a thought in English vs how a German may relay the same thought in their native language, and the application of the word or thought through other additional sentences that are provided. As there is more than one way to express a thought in English, the same applies to German. At times I will input in German how I think a German would say it, and the translator confirms my correct thought in English; yet when I input the same thought in English, the German translation comes back different than how I expressed it in German. It becomes confusing as to whether the German translation is the preferred expression, or my interpretation would be acceptable and understood. This translator is a fantastic tool which I don’t know what I would do without in my effort to learn German.

English to German. I grew up knowing how to speak basic German but this app has provided me the proper grammar and sentence structure I’ve always struggled with. Can’t say enough how this app has helped me. What’s really great is the audio assistant. I really love this app.

Not working. Since yesterday my German translation dictionary isn’t working properly. It’s like i have no internet connection which i do. I even tried it with vpn but it’s not responding. It’s like it’s offline . What should i do ? This app is vital for me .

German/American. I’ve been trying to properly translate as well as pronounce German for family tree purposes as well as to be able to use basic German in the proper context. A great app for someone wishing to learn and for quick and easy conversion to English.

Needed a good offline translator - danke!. This app has been a lifesaver as we figure our way around on our first visit to Germany! I love that you just type in the word(s) without having to worry about which language it is. The dictionary option and example sentences have helped a lot for certain words that didn’t come up automatically. (Bonus - some example sentences are hilarious!)

Last Update is not good. I love this app it is easy and the translations is also very good but after the last update when you will write a word after two three symbols the app ask you to translate this. Not every time but often. This is very annoying. Please fix it and than I give you 5+ Stars

Accurate but too much chaos.. I’ve been trying to learn German without taking all of the lessons and I was really excited for this app, and it is accurate and everything. But, as all apps have, there was a flaw. The flaw is that there is just way too much going on in the app. All of the ads and other things in the app are just chaotic, distracting, and it’s just too much to handle. :/ Thank you for the app though.

Very few criticisms.... This app is a reliable language source. Practice is key. The features make it a very versatile app. Which includes the favorites panel where you can save your best language phrases!

It is a great App. It tells you many ways of how to use the words you want, there is so many words that you can translate, not pay to learn. :)

Best tool for learning German. I am a true beginner to the German Language and I constantly need to reference words as I write or speak and this app has been extremely helpful as well as correct! I enjoy seeing the different usages of the words and seeing them used in sentences. I will continue to use and so happy this exists!

Helpful. This app is helping me learn German. I especially like the extra choices that come up when I type something in. I sometimes have trouble getting back to the screen when the app goes to the dictionary on its own.

Not Useful. There was a time where there were little or no ads in this app... those were the good times. Now, there's an ad after almost every single time I click on the pronunciation button, which completely brakes me train of thought and renders this app useless. also, I know enough German to know that the translations do not translate anywhere near what they mean from one language to the other.

Wunderbar!. This is an amazing app. I can’t believe it’s free. I can very quickly and easily look up words. The various usage examples give you a solid understanding.

Hard sales tactics!. I'm trying to sample this app before I buy but the relentless sales pitch is obnoxious! And many other ads too. Sometimes I cant even close the ad windows get back to the app! Tempted to go elsewhere out of sheer annoyance…. Give it a rest!

Great app so far!. This app has been nothing but helpful! I took German for 4 years in school and it’s helped me brush up quite a bit. Very helpful for sentence structure and more. Definitely recommend!

Offline German translator. These dictionaries are excellent. I have them in Italian and German. I use them many times a day. They give the words in rich context. They are an essential tool in la gauge learning.

Fabulously Useful. This is a great app. I have used it both for German and for Portuguese and it is quick versatile and accurate. It totally takes the edge off the stress of communicating in another language. I am so thankful for having found this app and refer to it regularly both to check my reading of complicated treatises not found in English translation and for conversational use. AutoCorrect is frustrating. A handy app to have, but I’ve been trying to type something in forever and it keeps auto correcting and that’s frustrating. Please make it easier to turn off auto correct. Thank you.

Great! *Tears of joy*. It has the ability to translate full sentences, giving some example variations of them. And I love how if I type in a German noun, it will tell me if its Masculine(Der), Feminine(Die) or Neutral(Das) right at the top, without me having to go hunt it down. An issue. It’s throwing me out when I click on it. Since this update. My phone is iPhone 6s with up to dated iOS, I mean the last version iOS. Please solve this. Thank you!

WHY CAN’T I CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION?!. I can’t find it anywhere on my Apple ID Subscriptions & it won’t allow me to email the developers. Why cancel? German App Complaint: I just paid for this app $20 thinking it would help translate what I needed if I went premium, and it still won’t translate full sentences. I’m recording it from another recording and trying my best to understand it, but to no end, I can’t fully understand, so I use this app whenever I’m stuck. But what I don’t get is why this isn’t working as well as it used to when a couple of months ago, it would translate every single sentence without missing a thing. Please fix this!

Fantastisch!. I have used many translation programs, Apps, and Services and this is by far the best and most useful and most accurate with lots of real life examples that are relevant. The developer is also incredibly responsive!

A great tool!. I am so glad I got this APP. I am pretty fluent in German, but it has been a long time since I had someone to talk to in the language. I'm a bit rusty. This works beautifully. I can type in what I want to say and check to see if it's what I thought it should be. I can check pronunciation and correct accent placement, too. A lot of English words have been absorbed into German over the years and this helps me with how those English words are being pronounced by German speakers. I am using it so much I decided to upgrade and I'm very glad I did.

Super. Very easy to use. You can translate words, or entire sentences quickly. It also gives precise definitions. It’s everything I wanted and more.

Excellent!. This fills in all the rather large gaps in my memory from years of learning German in high school. That it's available offline is invaluable for pronunciation and understanding while traveling. Only wish I had found it sooner.

No internet, no problem. You can still complete your studies even if you are restricted from using the internet or your internet is down. Really helpful and efficient!

The Only Translation App Für Mich. I downloaded a few German translator apps to try after Google translate burned me on mistranslating a few phrases. A lot of these programs are great for direct translations of a single word but fall apart when you try to make actual phrases. This app has a database of related real phrases it will dig into to provide actual translations with correct grammar and (most of the time) word choice given subtle shifts in cultural meaning. They’ll even throw out additional phrases using the words you are searching for so you can see it in other contexts. Often these can be very funny. Also, the premium version is a one-time payment and you get access to everything offline. There are functions for accessing your history and bookmarking favorites too. 1A Gute Ware! Vielen dank!

Super annoying ads on free version!. When I first got this App, I thought it was great, until the ads started blocking your conversations. They try to annoy you into buying the upgrade. Sticking with Google translate.

Tremendous dictionary. Version gives a wide variety of explanations and sentence use for any given word. I am strongly thinking about the ad free version.

Psuedo-immersion.. The best way to learn a language is to live where it's spoken. Since it's long shot that I'd ever actually live in Germany, this app is a big help in not only communicating with German speakers, but also as a teaching tool for grasping a better understanding of proper sentence structure. It's not Star Trek's Universal Translator, but it's pretty darn close!

The best offline app ever !. I use this all the time to talk to my sons gf parents who live in Germany and don’t speak any English. We can translate both ways!! Love it! And when we were I Germany this past summer I used it exclusively to communicate as my own German sucked lol. I highly recommend this ap. ESP if traveling abroad with no internet service !!

Great for learning phrases and sentence patterns. As an ESL teacher, and someone who already speaks three languages, I feel like this app is great. I’ve been looking for two months since moving to German for an app that would allow me to learn on the go. Also, when learning a language it is difficult to learn how to properly use words when you don’t know the context they are applied to. Or, if you are curious as to ask or say something in a certain context. Great app.

Best translator thus far.. First off: Free unless you decide to go premium. Easy; intuitive. Just tap the microphone and you speak a word or phrase. The program translates into German (with speach playback) AND includes a bunch of phrases that can be used in the same manor. You can hold a conversation this way if necessary.

Accurate. Easy to Use. Effective. GEIL!. The best I’ve found out there and way more accurate than any others I’ve come across. Highly recommended!!

Helpful and beyond !. I love that that I can even translate full sentences on this app, and not just that, the app also pulls up related sentences with german translation that makes my mind experience and learn more than what I just looked up. I am on this app more than I am on Facebook etc!

It’s ok. The app translates reasonably accurately but whenever I try to translate a sentence that has a period (.) in it, it only translates to the first period and no further. This means I have to delete all the periods and replace them with commas which changes the grammar of the sentence. This can be very frustrating.

It needs a lot of improvement. You must write the word exactly as it is. The app doesn’t have a correction mode in case you don’t exactly how to type something and youncan only translate short sentences. I paid $22 dlls for it. I don’t think it’s worth it :(

Something lacking!!!. It’s a good app but the plurals of nouns and the different verb conjugators for verbs can be added to make the app better!!!

Awesome. I don’t usually write reviews, but when I do the app is worth it! I have my German mother in-law staying at the moment, she doesn’t know any English, so this app helps me communicate with her. I’m still trying to figure out if that’s a good thing or not... but it translates well.

Excellent German dictionary. Very good German to English translation, much better than the google or itranslate app. It takes into account the nuances and gender the context of sentences correctly. I use it to read European comics in German.

Ads are everywhere!. After the latest update, every time that you open the app a new ad pops up in addition to the banner ad! I know this is a free app but the ads are really annoying me and if this keeps going like this I will definitely delete the app! There are so many translators on the AppStore.

Always there in a pinch. Reading Wittgenstein is tough enough even with G. E. M. Anscombe’s translation nearby. This is an excellent tool that greatly aids my philosophical investigations.

Way too many ads. I do appreciate this app and I do realize it’s free. However, the ads make it almost unusable. An ad will pop up EVERY SINGLE time you look up a word! The upgrade price is also not reasonable unfortunately
