Best expense tracking app. Started my business in November of 2022. I needed a fast, easy, and comprehensive method to track my expenses. I found it with Zoho Expense. I can’t say enough about how great this app is and how it has simplified the ability to keep my expenses organized. Thank you , ECM Manufacturing Consulting LLC

Big UI bugs. Would display an expense twice Then you will delete a duplicated expense Then app refreshes and turned out you deleted some other expense that you are not even sure which one No sorting expenses by date Image upload used to be nightmarish - slow upload attempt for 5 minutes, then an error message that picture is too small. That picture is taken from a phone camera. But this bug seemed to be fixed. Will revise my review when ui bugs are resolved Update: new expenses list made all receipts look very tiny so now you can’t see the $ amount of the receipt (from the receipt picture). Although, now I have a lot of “very useful” white screen space in the receipts list. Screen real estate is not valued. Another update: happy message “you are connected to the internet” is stuck to the bottom of the screen and is covering up functional buttons such as “submit expense”. This message (1) should not cover buttons and (2) should not show up telling us about the healthy condition at all, instead it should tell us about unhealthy condition

Zoho expenses. Stupid app, despite being logged in as myself it continually chooses other people in my company to assign my expenses to, does not synch with capital one credit cards. Ridiculously bad

Great App for Business Travel. Easy to setup, easy to use, and easy to report. What else can I say. I have 5 salespeople that travel the world. You take a photo of your receipts (then throw them out). It smartly extracts most of the data and stores. It also downloads from all of your credit cards and allows you to match up. Your company's chart of accounts can be put in, so entering report is a snap. We used to use ExpensAble - this is much much better.

Owner. We use QuickBooks online, Zoho expense integrated with QB to bring expenses out as well as importing payments back in. Very easy to use!

I wish my old company used this. Instead we used concur which was hugely painful. I dreaded submitting expenses and expense reports. This app is much more seamless and intuitive. Every company should use it!

Great Concept, Easy to Use, a Few Minor Issues. I mostly use the Zoho app to track my mileage for the work that I do. The setting to track using GPS is really awesome for that. However, when I’m visiting multiple locations, I would like to be able to keep it running the entire time. When I’ve tried this, the app crashes and doesn’t save any of the mileage that I’d tracked so far. So instead, I’ve resorted to starting and stopping the tracking at each destination. The problem with that, however, is sometimes I forget. It would be nice to see a map of the mileage that I tracked so I can figure out which trip I missed rather than just having to guess. Other than those two things, it’s a great app!

Date Wheel needs fixed. When adding a date to an expense using the expense wheel, it puts the date after, rather than the date you want. You have to select the date before the date you actually want for it to add the correct date. Please fix this and I can give a better rating. Overall its a very good product.

Lacks important expense feature. I’m a small business that needs basic expense (receipt) tracking. This app is nice in that it will allow me to have more than one profile so I can have my personal and business expenses in one app. However, this app does not offer a very important expense tracking feature which is sales tax. It does not have the option to break down the receipts. It also doesn’t allow the addition of any custom lines. Not a bad app but def lacks some important features.

Needs some improvements. I’ve been using this Zoho app for a few weeks now and although it is great for many of its time saving and friendly features, it definitely needs some improvement in at least 1 other important area. I had been using TurboScan for for about 2 years and I was looking for more than just a scanner so I decided to try Zoho expense. I love the fact that you can create pdf reports. No more adding up expenses at the end of the quarter which was the most important thing for me as a small business. Huge time saver. 👍 However the promise of auto scan falls a little short in terms of automatically reading and recording the data from the receipt as I find myself having to enter the data manually because of missing information. That’s not efficient 👎 Also having used turbo scan for a couple of years I find that their scanner is more efficient (faster) but it seems that you can improve the upload speed by uploading receipt images in black and white or grayscale instead of color. Overall the app does what I need it to do but I just find myself spending more time uploading receipts than I had originally anticipated based on the app features descriptions. Please improve data recognition!

Good to an extent. Biggest issue I have with this is it often duplicates the entries. Also hard to pdf each item by itself. Other than that, I had zero complaints.

Most confusing app ever. Horrible support. Mysterious links to nowhere. Bad experience.

Fits all needs. As a business owner, I can honestly say the Zoho applications cover every possible need. Zoho Expense is just one of many that we use and love.

Overall a good product. I like this product. As noted by others, a few glitches happen from time to time. However, these happen because of the rapid pace of new features being added and there is a responsive support team and they actually listen to customer feedback and suggestions. I like how it is integrated to CRM and Books. I needed to be able to assign expenses to different clients and various projects. It keeps our bookkeeping very clean coming from our consultants. The suite and integrations are where the real power is unlocked.

Great app/Great support. I use a very large and popular expense report through my company. It works but when I needed one to keep track of expenses for an estate I tried Zoho to keep things separated. My experience with Zoho expenses has been great. I had to utilize support when I replaced my phone due to the Authenticator I was using. Support was thorough and I was able to reach someone right away. I am a Zoho fan for sure and recommend it highly. It is simple to use and very thorough.

About as easy as you get. Best expense App ever!

Needs Improvement. Deleted items should stay that way. When an item is added manually rather than waiting indefinitely to see if will auto populate, it can show up a week or so later. Even though already expensed, it keeps popping back up, even after deleting several times. Annoying!

Can’t scroll “Category”.. iPhone 14Pro/iOS 16…can’t scroll down in the category. The list freezes half way. Wasn’t a problem before this update. Please check Update: works perfect. Thank you!

Perfect Expense App. Easy to set up, easy to use, runs flawlessly.

Beware they don’t care. I’m a new business and was trying out their app while still getting my business started and without notice they deleted what I entered for expenses. What?!?! They sent 1 email after saying we deleted your account because it was inactive and it even said they sent notifications that this would happen but I checked, zero notification! Horrible!

Most user-friendly app!. I have loved and used Zoho for years for my personal transactions. It is so user-friendly and intuitive. It’s easy for me to take pictures of my receipts and they are automatically scanned by Zoho. I’ve also set up my budget numbers so that Zoho actually categorizes my receipts automatically. I send them to my supervisor with the press of a button. So easy! Thanks Zoho!!

Poor UI. Pretty good app but with idiotic UI feature: - Sticky date: every entry defaults to the last date used, no matter that you have quit the app or haven’t used the app for a week. All of my various March expense are dated 09 February. ¡D’oh! - doesn’t automatically select the ONLY open Expense Report. You must pick it from a list of one. - New Expense button is the smallest button on the screen.

Best on the market & better then Expensify. I use Zoho to manage and create expense reports for business purchases I use with my credit card. As a Chick-fil-A franchisee I have also found some of the other Zoho products in their suite useful. Most similar expense report apps do not have credit card account integration, which is among the best function. In fact to me it is a deal breaker. I am thinking about subscribing. To use other products in the suite. Thanks Zoho to being relevant and staying up to date with the mobile world. I LOVE that with one button, not even opening the app I can upload a photo receipt to Zoho to deal with later!!

Forget expensify. All the things that annoy me to death with expensify are solved in this app. Beautifully done.

Horrible. All of your reports disappear and it never loads your expenses on the first try

Amazing - Easy - Most Affordable - Best. Wow! We are a church of around 200 and we have a handful of employees. We searched and searched for the best software that we could afford. This is it! They have a generous three user limit for the free version. The app it’s so easy to use – it is intuitive. The customer support is unparalleled. When I got the free version they give me a call after a couple of weeks just to make sure everything was good. That’s probably never going to happen with 99 percent of the companies out there. This company loves their customers. Again wow. Best expense app out there!

Slashed my reporting time. I set this up for my small nonprofit and the time I spend filling out expense reports has been dramatically reduced. I love the auto scan feature that finds the date, dollar amount and merchant automatically. There’s no turning back!

Pics. Picture feature doesn’t work since update last week.

More User Friendly. I would like to have some more user friendly options to delete reports.

Not well integrated with Zoho. I wanted to use this app because I do my company's accounting in Zoho. But expenses in this app are stored in a completely different database than the Zoho website. I still have to enter the expenses both places. They also want a separate subscription payment to use this app, and the link to subscribe just opens my email app. Basically unusable. I guess I'll just keep a photo album with my receipts, since that's far easier than using this app.

great app, great customer service, just needs a few adjustments. The thing that I like the most was that their customer service department was incredibly personable and quick to respond!! The app is more customizable and affordable than any of the other apps of this power and Precision. few tweaks could be very helpful. (auto input last 4 credit card numbers, export to google Drive, Roll over view of image details next to the reporting information, A clearer image on the PDF reports, making receipts as well as expenses and reports viewable across users on the same membership, it wasn't auto categorizing merchants even after I had categorized say merchant several times) The app would be absolutely amazing and these minor changes would not be so hard to do!! 3 stars for the app & the 4th star for the excellent pr :) :). Thank you!

Love Zoho. A million times better than Quickbooks

Needs work. Running on an iPhone 11 PRO and an iPhone XR and almost never I have problems except w the photo upload feature.

Update broke scanning. After the update it can no longer find the edges of receipts for scanning.

Good but needs work. The biggest issue that I don’t have but the person at my company who approves expenses has is the final report. There’s so much wasted space. They want to see a weekly summary of expenses on one page. Please let us create a template or at least have an option to fit the summary of the report on one page for a week. Obviously the receipts would all have separate pages. We’re not allowed to use Zoho just because of this. We use the CRM and everything else just not expenses. Just tighten it up the page layout and fit into one page.

So easy to use and so convenient!. We have been using Zoho products for years and love the quality and especially the support. We switched from Neat Receipts to Zoho Expense a few months back and are still wondering why we didn’t do it sooner. The auto scan feature, searchable reports and the ability to email online receipts, keep everything organized and easy to use. Thank you Zoho for another fine product!

Clickable & Customization of Spending overview. Its a great app for tracking expenses but could be greater and worth my 5 stars if: 1. i could customize spending overview widget to be able to have quick glance of what i want to see. 2. Make spending overview clickable which should lead to expenses of that category after click. Thanks. AA

Totally unhelpful. This app is not user friendly at all, can’t even reach anyone in their help desk to assist properly.

Great app. You can get the solo version also, this is the best expenses app I have tried before It’s like magic!

Needs a lot of work. Terribly disappointed in this app. It is extremely unintuitive and randomly records input data so you never know when you will get receipts recorded into the system. There is also sync issues and it takes forever to load new pages. We need an app that is easy to use and understand and this is not even close to a solution. I have little time to spend on receipts and need this app to work far better than it currently does in order to use Zoho One effectively. Please get your developers back to work to make this a functional app. As it is right now it is basically useless.

Avoid Zoho. Receipts disappear. This “free” app loses your expenses and costs you money. Used to recommend Zoho but this app convinced me to try another vendor for everything. Update: some imports were mysteriously hidden from view because they did not get parsed. So not lost but still not great.

So tedious. I hope to do a new review with a better score. I find putting in receipts daily easy. My wish list: 1. Instructions or FAQ 2. Remove necessity for receipt for mileage 3. A way to track miles that can go to multiple locations and include round trip 4. Provide a drop down selection for frequent stops. Look forward to improvements. Deb

Good app. Once you get the hang of it the app is easy to use. Took us from 2 months to down to 1 week turnaround on expenses.

Almost perfect but.. … if it could auto save photo in folder to iPhone photo after crop. It would save lot of space and cleaner pics saving in photos with new folder. … long receipts like USPS CVS which I scan then it takes forever to find corners and then have to do it manually. If that could be fixed.

Tracks your location without your authorisation. A good app but massively expensive to purchase and very disturbing to fi d that it tracks you even when gps is not authorisedto he activated.

Awesome app, but slow scan time. Very good app, but compared to what I was using at work (ExpenseIt) the auto-receipt-scan time is very slow. Once it’s quick I’ll come back and give it 5 stars! ☺️

Great app. This app, along with the online tools makes expense reporting simple, paperless and efficient. Record expenses on the fly and then deliver internal reports for approval or repayment. Tracks against projects, internal expenses and across any categories you want. Very comprehensive.

Great App. Been using this app for 3 months now fir all work expenses. Great App. Only issue is the scanning of receipts can be a little slow but you have the option to manually load as well. Otherwise works seamlessly

Zoho. It is very user unfriendly in the set up

Crashed & glitchy. Worked fine before but new update has made it very unstable Looking for only receipts in the camera roll is a good idea in theory but the app draws far too many resources and reloads the pictures before I can even select one Also didn’t even recognize half of the receipts I had in my camera roll! Not to mention it crashes everytime I switch to another app and then return to Zoho. PLEASE FIX THIS!!!! VERY FRUSTRATING

Self Employed. I travel all over the world for work to multiple countries and continents. This expense. Tracking app is the best I have found so far.

User friendly. It is very easy to use. I understood it after few tries

Integration with Xero. After some back and forth the integration with Xero accounting system was resolved. However when an expense report is paid through Xero you have to manually mark it reimbursed in Zoho. Aside from that it’s great.

One of the best. I've used a few of these apps. This one is free and has more functions and options then the others I've actually paid for. Sign up to Zoho and get a bunch of apps or services for free. I kinda like it.

Easy, simple, fast. The convenience of using this app as reduced the time required for me to submit weekly expense reports. Great product!

Excellent!. Easy to upload expenses, though there are still some rough edges for advanced functionality of the app. None the less love it! I use it everyday.

Edit. This is a great app. Took bit of time to navigate as there was no tutorial how to use it. Have only issue, can’t change the category or enter a category in auto scan mode. Should have the option to change later too.

Stopped scanning receipts. The app has stopped functioning. It to no longer scans receipts. It takes the photo, adds it to my album, but doesn’t upload it to ZOHO and to make matters worse, there is no warning or notification.

Best app for tracking expenses. Very easy to use and relaible app to track expense and collection of everyday receipts. Must recommend this easy functional app.

Can no longer take pictures!. This is a good app for recording expenses, but a recent update removed the ability to take pictures of receipts myself, the app now auto takes them. I’ve tried many times but am unable to get a decent, legible picture of my receipt with this new auto picture feature. Please remove this!!!

Haven’t used for long. I have started using this along with books and so far i really like how easy it is and how it works between the other apps. Customer support is always willing to help.

Before the update. Before the update loved ZoHo now it deletes my receipts and doesn’t save them. I have to try 10 times on some of them to get them on a report. Get a better app and system or loose business because this is costing people money because you don’t notice it till it’s too late (that a receipt was not on there) Not even worth a one star. DO NOT GET ZOHO

Receipt uploads not working. There is a major flaw in the receipt upload process as many times I receive an error and receipts aren’t loaded into the app. I’ve deleted and re-installed the app several times and it hasn’t fixed the issue

Awesome products. This companion app to Zoho Expense is awesome. In fact, their entire product line is far superior to any of the other bloated CRM systems out there. Highly recommend.

This makes my life so much easier. Wow, does this make my life so much easier. It works flawlessly and now I capture 100% of expenses because it is dead simple. Zoho One has so many awesome included tools that you'd pay hundreds per month for from other vendors.

Technical Manager. What a great app! Goodbye, spreadsheets. Goodbye, taping receipts to a sheet of paper and scanning them. Goodbye, dreading the pile of growing receipts and trying to remember what, when, who, why! Good job, Team Zoho!

Terrible / Unreliable. You’ll be lucky if even half your receipts get saved. Just scanned one yesterday and guess what, no where to be found. Don’t worry - see below for obligatory response asking you to email them at some general email inbox asking to tell you about the problem even though I listed the problem above. DO. NOT. USE.

Zoho expense is great!. Extremely easy to use. Scanned receipts tool is great; it even correctly calculates handwritten markups on a receipt in case some items were personal rather than business. I highly recommend this app

Great program. I have a small consulting business with about 10 users. They all love the app and it allows me to focus on other billable work. Keep up the good work.

Best expense tracking app. I have tried many expense tracking app in order to record all my expenses and no one works as good as Zoho. Zoho even offers free tier plan but I have no doubt that I will sign up for paid plan if I needed more features. Very wonderful work.

Easier to report. A great time saver. Used to take far too long and very confusing. This is so simple and neat.

Impossible to cancel if you don’t like.. Very poor customer service...Tried to cancel a subscription that is renewed every month but there is no option on the application to cancel yourself, if you email the payments department asking to cancel they never reply or cancel. If you don’t want to keep using the app you might have to cancel your card instead.

Good. Could be better.. Has greatly simplified our expense report process. Some wonky issues with uploaded receipts disappearing as well as jumbled descriptions on expense report screen.

Solid expense reporting app. This app has unlimited receipt scanning that makes submitting expense reports really simple.

Annoying. Although I uninstalled the app, it sends me emails every freaking day. But that's not the worst part. The worst part is that you have only one option to stop those annoying emails: reinstall the app, log in again and change email notification settings. I know they were doing it intentionally. Worst app ever!!

New update. App keeps closing out every time I try to add an expense. I have to go in the app 10x or more before I can actually complete and submit expense! Waste of my time having to put expensive when I have lots to enter and It take so long because I have to constantly be entering the app and closes when I’m also finished!

Needs fixing. No longer able to “upload” receipt from picture in message like I used to. Please fix. This saves a lot of time when it functions.

Was a 5 but now a 3. It’s been easy to use up until yesterday. Now it keeps crashing every time I take a pic of a receipt. Not sure how to get help. Grateful you have a number on app but so far I’m on my third agent. Is that because I selected the wrong prompt or they can’t help? Either way it’s been confusing. I’ve been on phone 10 minutes and still they ask me questions I can’t answer and they can’t help with.

Annoying!. The app itself didn’t work for what I needed. I would have just ignored the app, but they keep pestering me. I turned off all notifications, and now they’re sending me UNWANTED EMAIL... and there doesn’t seem to be a way to stop it! I click the link in the email and it goes to a blank screen. That’s enough for me to leave a “poor” rating.

Functional but servers and scanning are slow. Receipts take a long time to upload. This is fine if you’re out on the road, but when you’re trying to do an expense report it’s unacceptable. Will be using a different product. A shame, because otherwise this is a fantastic tool.

Really buggy with uploads and upgrading. When it works, it’s magical... but it breaks all the time, doesn’t update in real time so I end up uploading several of the same receipts. I have no visibility on upgrade path or what features free has, so has become a headache. Great potential and the ocr at times is magical.

Description issue. It will not allow you to make or edit a description when making an expense

Terrible. There is no place indicating you have to pay when you first start using the app, but after you spend two weeks uploading all the receipts, it asks you to subscribe and if you don't, you lose all your work!! What a terrible way to sell the app!!!

Great but one minor flaw that needs to be fixed. Using an iPhone 7 and the 3D Touch brings you to a login screen and locks the app up. Works fine if I just open the app. Will update review if fixed.

This is the best tool!. I have purchased and used many expense reporting apps and this is by far the best!

Everything I need. Very easy to make updates to expense reports as your trip progress.

Can’t upload picture receipts. My work pays for this and it’s frustrating to not be able to submit expenses. I can add an expense but every time I go to add a picture of a receipt from my camera roll the app freezes and crashes. I’ve verified the app has permissions to my camera roll, I’ve deleted the app and reinstalled it, and even deleted the app deleted the backup files in iCloud and then reinstalled it. Still doesn’t work.

Would have given 5 but recent failures knock it down. Previously everything was smooth. Currently I have been able to print a report in any format or configuration. From laptop I can choose print but only the template prints no data at all! My iphone app does not even have a button or way to print. I’m a simple uncomplicated user and do basic reports. FRUSTRATED. Customer support is giving me canned answers.

Zoho is worthless. If I could give this app negative stars, I would. I have spent countless wasted minutes staring at the application, waiting for it to complete some function. It doesn’t matter if you have fantastic WiFi or great service. You will have to enter a receipt five or six times before it takes. I wish the owner of the business I work for would get rid of these amateurs! HOW HARD IS IT TO MAKE AN APP THAT TAKES A PICTURE OF A RECEIPT AND APPLIES THE INFO TO A REPORT.

Date Wheel needs fixed. When adding a date to an expense using the expense wheel, it puts the date after, rather than the date you want. You have to select the date before the date you actually want for it to add the correct date. Please fix this and I can give a better rating. Overall its a very good product.

New Update is Atrocious!!. Not sure what you guys have done but the app keeps closing and crashing as you try to save an expense. The expense report total doesn’t update, the new expense doesn’t show up until you refresh and YES did I mention you can’t save anything without the app closing...

Not that great. I have approved reports on the browser version and the app says they are still pending approval. Browser version has expenses that I logged in using a card and they don’t show up in this application. I take pictures with the app and they don’t get logged in automatically like they’re supposed to. Sometimes I think Xcel would be easier.

Why did you change it?!!!. It was perfect, and now it is totally jacked up- if something works and your customers like it- why would you totally disrupt the love?

Making life so much easier. Love this app, a have to have if you are out on the road for any kind of business trip and you need to keep track of expenses.

Great App!. Our club uses this for reimbursement. It’s quick, easy, very handy!

Great app. One fatal flaw. Great app. But it does not upload all pictures/receipts. Many of my receipts appear to be stuck, with the message “sync failed”. Even more troublesome, you really have to dig into the app to discover this is even an issue/you have receipts that didn’t upload. If this issue was fixed it would be a great app.

Latest update. Latest update is miserable. Entries don’t save and have to be entered multiple times before they finally save, mileage from map won’t save because it says location services need to be enable even though location services are enabled. Receipts won’t upload from photos. How could you make such a mess of a fairly good app. Go back to the previous version until you fix this cluster of a mess.

Great tool. I use that for business purchases on my personal credit card. It has been a very useful tool to track expenses and organize them for accounting.
