Not functioning right. Correct me if I’m wrong but the app should not close unexpectedly and repeatedly during use. Navigation is also poor - can’t get back to homepage without clunky machinations. It’s unfortunate because the content is good but what’s the point if you can’t enjoy it because the app blows?

Constant crashes. Articles are nicely presented but this app crashes constantly. Also the pull down menus don’t function consistently- there are usually two sets of them on most pages for no reason. They offer a newer version of this app (not just an update) so skip this one.

Not very user friendly. A news app is only as good as its interface. Too many pop ups. Every time I read an article I would like to go back to where I left off and not all the way back to the main screen. Needs to be setup for easy use like Fox News app

Great articles but worthless app:. +Great articles -Wotethless app with horrible user experience! Two similar but different site navigations in almost the same spot, crashes multiple times daily on iPhone, after reading an article app takes you back to top of home page instead of where you click link to read article, article titles listed multiple time under different subjects on main page and on and on. App needs a total redesign!

Love the content. Hate the app.. Articles load too slowly. The app crashes too often. And I echo others' complaints about auto-play videos.

App crashes. As of end of August 2020I find the app crashes frequently while I'm trying to read a story

App crashes every time I use it. The app used to be great for reading news and I rely largely on the Washington Examiner for news. It had become a crash machine whenever I open it and start scrolling it crashes and locks up. Has to be swiped out to fix it. Has become unusable.

Worst news app on the market. I am a subscriber and I couldn’t be more unhappy with this app delivery of the content. Login is clumsy and a hassle. The plethora of ads makes reading content highly frustrating. I beseech the Washington examiner to clean this up!

What a problem to try to read!. Seriously guys? This is the app that you give to the public? You can’t close articles. You always have to go back to the index and then you’re ina different place. They constantly move all over the place. Sheer crap.

Atrocity. I love the content of The Washington Examiner, but don’t bother with the app. Flow is awful, can’t even login, ads pop up, and menus are empty. Cannot go back after clicking on an article. And, as mentioned by someone else, the developer clearly does not care; last update was two years ago. Do read content online; DO NOT bother with this app.

WEX app has never worked for me.. Constant problems. I’m a subscriber and I have never been able to log in successfully. Constant error messages. Deleted it.

Real Conservative News. It is important to note that the Washington Examiner is the most truthful conservative source out there! It is the least biased and most straightforward conservative source for news. It prints the least untruths among all the others. It truly is the NYT of right leaning news.

app clunky, decent news. might just be me, but where’s the BACK button and why 2 hamburger menus? guess it’s just me though. enjoy the perspectives though.

Crashes consistently. The articles and perspectives from the Washington Examiner are great, but this app crashes on a consistent basis.

Please fix your app!! Again!. I love the content but rarely bother to open the app because it is unweildly to navigate, horribly slow and prone to glitching and crashing. I realize you have to make money but your ads are the most intrusive and annoying of any app I read. The content is constantly jumping around making it impossible to read. Fix it!

Poorly Designed. UPDATE: SAME PROBLEMS STILL EXIST!!! This app still sucketh mightily!! Seriously, there is an overwhelming amount of negative feedback, but the problems still subsist. The lack of concern on behalf of the WAEX is equally aggravating. They are not reading the reviews, or they just flat out don’t care, whichever it is, it amounts to a complete lack of concern and forethought for the readers, and that is insulting. Therefore, I have dropped my previous rating of 2 stars down to 1. If the content itself we’re not worth reading, I would drop it to zero. However, if you continue to ignore the concerns of your readers regarding these problems, I will delete it. There are many other very good and better solid news sources available to choose from. This app is one of the most frustrating I have ever used. The ads are interrupting my read by freezing up, or causing the story to skip, sometimes having to close out the app altogether. If I lose the article I cannot go back to it, I have to scroll through every article to find the one I was reading. Seriously annoying. The content is good, but the app, not so much.

Lame app. I thought I could get a decent replacement for the Fox News app but these guys are even more anti Trump. In the last two weeks they've had for e stories about Trump that turned out to be completely false. Crappy and lazy reporting just like everyone else.

Moving to a “subscribe or annoy” model. The app has never been that great, but I overlooked it’s shortcomings and the fact they continuously want to copy things from my clipboard on accessing the app. But this subscribe or we’ll annoy you until you do model is what is making me delete this app from my phone. Good bye to another legacy media outlet. So tired of their shenanigans.

Awful app. Don’t waste your time. Bad design. “Blinks” all the time. Takes you to random links. Click and you don’t know where it will take you. Makes me doubt the seriousness of WE as a news source. If you can’t design an app that works well, I am gone. I’ll find another source for my news. I had high hopes but utter disappointment.

AOC. My prayer for you and all you traitors in congress. God i pray that everytime one of these traitors closes their eyes or sees a little child at play they recall video of every little child running for their lives in Kabul to avoid being captured, raped and beheaded! I pray they are mercilessly tortured for their cowardess actions or lack there of and that you are relentless in your efforts to never ever allow these kind of people to have any say in what takes place in American government OR success of any kind ever again! I pray that you strip them of all the bounty they gained by capitulation and I pray for firing squads for all traitors who had months to handle this situation correctly but were too busy trying to make it difficult for good men to try! Needs help!. Can’t log in. Doesn’t recognize that I already have the app. Clumsy to navigate. Tech work is not up to the standards set by content team.

Ads are full of bugs and unreadable. New ad feature makes articles unreadable - all you will see is an unloaded advertisement that takes up the whole screen, not worth downloading the app, cannot read articles

Not even trying. I most desperately wanted an alternative to Fox News. I found an article that your organization might be a decent alternative. I downloaded your app and quite literally have never experienced a bigger lack of effort in my life. This app is riddled with ads, to the point where you can't even sign up or subscribe because the ads constantly pop in to the page and interfere with your efforts to just simply through your email address. Quite literally you cannot enter your email address without 10 or 15 different tries and then only if you get extremely lucky and can beat the pop-up ads that will interfere. Come on guys. Just try a little. Our team needs people that will try just a little bit more. The other side is handing us our backsides and companies like yours are so apathetic. With apps like this.

Get a new programmer. Tired of the never ending freeze ups. It is a shame because the stories look interesting if I could actually read the whole article This has been a problem for sometime now but evidently they don’t care . Will delete it and see if it improves in a couple of months.

Needs updating. Way too many pop up ads and videos that interfere with reading articles.

Locks up on me. Ever sincethe last update, reading stories has become difficult as the page locks up. I cannot scroll or do anything. I have to close and reopen the app at least 3 times to clear it. I did enjoy reading it.

Crash Queen App. The App crashes constantly. After scrolling just a bit, I get this black page “advertisement” with a “continue scrolling” message. No matter how much you scroll the black page doesn’t go away. Once you open a story you can’t go back to where you were. You have great content but very sucky App experience!

Locks up when opening articles. Fix it

So many glitches. I downloaded this and deleted it in less than an hour. I’m not a huge fan of website shells. They’re worse when the website breaks the app. I watched ads try to launch repeatedly and then the the app became unresponsive. After several times it was time to delete the app. Most news organizations are becoming clickbait. When it breaks your app I’m done.

App crashes constantly. I love articles, but the app crashes literally 75% of the time you try to open an individual article. The home page(s) open fine, but most of the time you open an individual article, it crashes. It’s really almost unusable.

No problems. Didn’t have any problems like the other reviewers, I’m guessing problems with advertising can be addressed remotely without updating the app itself.

All 1 star reviews. Are moronic. Just keep things in perspective and deal with unfortunate bugs like a man. All apps are riddled with them whether you see them or not.

Completely crashes at random. I really love the coverage of the Washington Examiner, but this app is not the way to get your news in iOS 11. I don’t know if they are properly supporting this app or if they even know that it is such a piece of crap, but someone needs to take their job seriously. If asked, it works beautifully, notwithstanding the annoying advertisements for merchandise and websites being pushed by complete shysters.

Enjoy reporting. I thoroughly enjoy WE’s reports and opinion pieces. However, I am frustrated by the constant mal pop ads and being redirected to unwanted ads. Reported malware but see no effort to correct.

Badly designed, login doesn’t work – for a long time now. There seems to be no logic in the order in which the articles are put together other than some broad random groupings. Items are grouped in many different groupings and once you leave a page to go read an article you can’t get back to where you started which is really annoying. Great content, really really bad flow. Not user-friendly. It is suspicious that it’s been two years since your last update which means you don’t actually care?

Good news. Buggy. Ads crash the app.. The app is getting worse. The ads yo have to scroll past go on forever and now the app just crashes. It a shame because the content is good.

OMG, it’s terrible!. I just downloaded this app after the link from Real Clear Politics wouldn’t load the WE page. It’s totally slow and stupid. Some things I found in the first five minutes of use (which makes me wonder if anyone did any testing): . Two separate navigation lists . Drop down for columnists is not populated . No search capability found On several pages the text didn’t load and just spun. TOTALLY DISAPPOINTING!!!!

I love this app but it needs 2 more fixes. I love the Washington Examiner’s content, and they fixed my previous problem with pop-up videos in the app. However I still would like 2 fixes on the technical side: The first: even though video advertisements no longer pop-up intrusively, they still play automatically where they’re imbedded in the page while I’m reading the article. This causes unnecessary data usage because of loading videos without me asking for them, and it also automatically cuts off whatever music I’m listening to when I clicked on the story. This makes it a pain to use this app while I work out. Once I pause the video, it takes over as whatever was last playing, so when I try to “un-pause” my music, it just plays the video ad again. Second, (this started happening within the last 2-3 weeks). The app seems to completely freeze randomly (but does not force quit itself/crash). The interesting thing here is even when I hit menu and leave the app, when I come back it’s frozen the same way and even if I force quit the app 1-2 times, when I re-open it, it’s frozen the same way it was before, on the same spot in an article, etc. this may be some sort of bug. I am running iOS 11.3.1 - the most recent OS at this time. I just want to say this app has progressed a lot and is much more enjoyable, the content is great and it no longer heats up my phone. I think some screenshots of the new version would be in order to update the App Store listing.

Buggy, crashes often and lots’o pop-up videos. Unusable application, have removed it from my iPhone.

Terrible app. I love the Washington Examiner newsmagazine, but the app is horrible. Anytime I try to login it gives me an error so I’m stuck trying to read some daily articles while dodging ads and videos that pop up. This is also a problem doing so from a straight phone browser. Get this fixed. Some of us are paying for it.

Can’t read articles because of ads fir subscription. I’m a long time subscriber. I’ve confirmed Ed that I have a paid up subscription. But subscription ads prevent me from reading articles. Pathetic.

Keeps randomly closing. Love the little bit of content I get to read before the app closes. Disappointed. Looking for a conservative alternative to Fox that is better managed than OANN’s App. Just deleted it. I’ll check back next year.

Random embedded videos (ads) ruin the app. When you are reading a story, random videos (ads) take over the entire screen. If you close them they come right back. If you wait they flip off, the screen goes back to the story, then the videos appear again. It is completely random. It is maddening. The app is now deleted.

Its like they are paid content for De Santis. I think De Santis is a great governor, I thought Trump was an effective president. Elon is brave and Mitch McConnell part of the swamp. I am allowed to reach those decisions but your writers should withhold from their bias or preferences. Report! You shouldn’t dedicate your paper to destroy Trump or be on DeSantis payroll. Just as bad as Bloomberg but with less depth and you hide behind a conservative “persona” that isn’t real.

A joke of an app. If this app were submitted by a first year computer science student, I’d give him a C minus. Where does the Washington Examiner find these programmers? Why don’t they take responsibility and upgrade their app. It randomly crashes, and shows annoying ads everywhere, even for subscribers.

Navigation the pits.. If I can’t back up to the last place I was but have to start reviewing the articles from the very top of the queue there’s not much point in using the app. Content does look somewhat better, and you can navigate (only back to the very start), and I no longer have random page refreshes when new ads cycle through at the bottom and throw errors. So that’s the reason for a 3 instead of a 2. Hey, I’m a big $9.99 per year donor, and I think I deserve more. You meanie oppressors!😜

Completely unusable. I guess you want to chase away you readers. The app is darn near impossible to use. DELETED!

Unstable website. Of the many online periodicals that I access daily, this is the most difficult to use. I like the print version and wish the quality of online were comparable, but it is not. Sad.

A JavaScript mental breakdown. There might be good content at The Washington Examiner but you’ll have to fight this app to see it. Banners scroll randomly up and down the screen, supposed hypertext isn’t hyper, and the navigation menu magically appears underneath itself occasionally at the top of the screen. It’s a mess and a frustration I don’t need. Deleted.

Great publication - app not so much. Keeps crashing

My fav is busted. I love the content of WE, but it frequently locks up. Please get it right!

No issues here. Don't know why others are having issues. It must be either the Examiner is reporting what "some" people don't want people to read or they have a different view of the world. No issues at all here.

Won't update or install. The update failed to install, so I uninstalled the old version and tried to install the new version. Now the new version on the app won't install and use I'm stuck with nothing.

New "Subscriber". I like the format of this app. It's an easy scroll to see what I want to read. Covers the issues at hand with some interesting articles I don't find on my other news apps. Photos are good and articles are well written. Easy to maneuver. Have not had any of the "porn" pop ups noted in earlier reviews.

Plagued by pop ups. I reported random porn pop ups to the app contact. After deleting app I downloaded it again and am getting random phishing pop ups with dire warnings that my iPhone is infected, and to clock to fix it. Hope the app developers fix this, otherwise it's goodbye to the Washington Examiner.

Junk. Deleted this app because it would not let you opt out of accepting cookies to personalize the experience.

Crashes. This app is to useful to crash and not work appropriately. Please fix the crashes and come up with a way to save articles. Then this app would be way more useful with all the notifications it drops on a daily basis.

Good content-annoying ads. The content from the WE is betrayed by annoying and relentless pop up ads that frustrate your ability to read a story. I get frustrated and move on to other sources. A pity because the content is good. Needs a major app redesign

Obnoxious ads. Read an article, big mistake. Now every safari page has a WE ad banner at the top obscuring the page. Downloaded the app just to write a bad review.

Great news, bad app. The app has stopped loading. The irritating little circle just spins! Use a web browser for access to a great news source.

Terrible. Installed app and immediately had xxx rated ads within the push notifications. If you're looking for news - don't load this app.

Unusable. Content loads at an agonizing pace or the app freezes entirely. This is true of the app as well as for Washington Examiner articles accessed via Safari so the problem may be their content servers rather than the app itself. Whatever the cause, as it is this app is useless.

No problem with this app. I don't understand why this App has such bad reviews. I have not encountered any problem with it. Plus, I enjoy reading the Washington Examiner online.

App Won't Work on Older IPads. Since the last update, the app no longer works on older IPads. Please fix this soon.

More news, less opinion. Love the WEx articles, but please, please give me a way to archive my favorites. Maybe a send to pocket button or flip into a Flipboard magazine. Keep up the good work. So refreshing!

Freeze Zone. I just erased my Examiner app and reloaded it, and again IT FROZE. Then I decided to read the reviews, amazingly, for at least a year in your own reviews, readers have been telling you of the freezing problem. I cannot believe that you cannot deal with this problem. As far as apps go, yours seems quite simple. For my 2 cents, you are ready for another app vender. Let's see how well you take advice. I am left to wonder, do you ever read your reviews???

Improved look but hard to read. Porn site with full frontal nudity appeared yesterday when I was moving back to full list from the notifications screen. YOU HAVE BEEN HACKED--at least I hope that is what happened. I still like the old version (whose pictures were still on the App Store on 4/15/17. It was very readable for old eyes like mine, but it had a clunky, sometimes unreliable next article feature.

The Worst. The content is good. The website is merely OK. The iOS app is the absolute worst. Someone should be fired.

Home Page Embedded Video Hijacks Audio. Your App's Home Page always contains an embedded video clip. Whenever your app starts, that video clip automatically kills any audio that may already be playing on the iOS device. Thus your app is almost impossible to use at the same time as any music or podcast or radio program. Please stop automatically starting this home page video clip!

Washington Examiner. This app continually locks up. This is even after it is slow to load. It may be an interesting read, but who knows because the articles cannot be accessed.

ABSOLUTELY HOPELESS APP:Freezes up continually. can 't Email stories. Alerts pile up without asking.. One of 10 problems: Can never get to Comments to Read Them. Plus: Great content. Minus: Hopeless App. PLEASE!! They, the political opposition, are eating your lunch on the Internet. You have great reporters and stories. BUT, they block your stories and/ or CRASH YOUR SITE WHICH IS OBVIOUSLY VULNERABLE AND POORLY DESIGNED AND/OR FORTIFIED. I don't want a messy paper version: CAN'T YOU DO BETTER ON THE WEB? IT'S REALLY A PATHETIC APP. . Examples: Impossible to get to "Comments" without trying 5 times. CAN't easily EMAIL your reports and alerts; mostly can't Email them at all. so people give up= fewer people know about you . EVERY FEW SECONDS: CRASH! BLANK SCREEN! I THINK YOU ARE BLOWING YOUR OPPORTUNITY AND LETTING YKUR WRITERS/ REPORTERS DOWN BIGTIME.

Almost there. First of all, I love reading the examiner. I miss reading it on the metro in the morning. As for the app, it's a streamlined version of the website with a few hiccups. The top story slider, first on the page, tends to get stuck. Not a big problem, just doesn't feel fluid. Almost every time I click an article further down, (in a section called on the beltway or something) I end up clicking on the authors name. Maybe I have fat thumbs, but it happens when I tap pretty far from their names. Anywho, great start for a great paper. Look forward to having the kinks worked out.

error: UNABLE TO INSTALL APP. Same issue as described above. iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.2 After the initial download the update would not install. I removed older version of the app in hope that would clear up the issue. At this point I still can NOT install the latest version and I no longer have the older app installed. Please fix it ASAP. The latest version solved the problem described above! Love the app! Love The Washington Examiner.

Won't load anymore. The new update failed to load. Deleted app and tried fresh install. This too failed so now I can't read Washex anymore. Fix this! Ipad2.

Disappointing change.. Used to love it, now it's unusable. Please undo change so I can read daily again.

How do you disable the video?. I want to read the news alerts. I want to read the Washington Examiner. I don't want a video (often the same video for days on end) to download and start playing automatically while I'm reading the news. I can't find any settings in the app to prevent it.

Great news source. I mostly view Web Ex from its ALERTS setting. Excellent info comes thru. I have told others about it. I just deleted the app and re-installed it, but it still will not work on iPad

Update. This App has suffered from poor downloads since the most recent update. Go back to basic text...it's the content not all the photos and videos that are important.

Poor App. Do not download this app because it will only frustrate you by failing to download content including the opening page. Use the web to access the site.
