Stats.fm for Apple Music App Reviews

Like the idea of this app but…. I like the idea of this app but for the last day or so it says “A new version of the app is available and required continue. It only takes a moment!” Follow the prompt to the App Store and there’s no update. Check for updates on the settings and no update. Now I can’t use the app at all.

Fix app. The app says an update is required to go forward. I go to app store and no update is available.

Pointless when the other app works fine.. The current stats fm app already lets you link your Apple Music to it and you can sync both platforms to get your full listening history. Just stick with the regular stats fm app

Want to like it, but it’s horrible. I love the idea of the app and everything about it. However, the app is very poorly designed. None of the synchronization is ever accurate or up-to-date. And the constant advertisement of the premium subscription is unbearable. But don’t even think about purchasing the subscription because the music import feature does NOT work.

Great at first but stopped syncing. It started as a great app a couple of months ago but has eventually not been updating my recently listened since the past 4 days. Hopefully it’s a bug issue and is in need of an update.

Slightly misleading. Downloaded the app under the impression that you would be able to start using it once paying the membership, but you need to download your music content from Apple, which according to them take seven days, but it’s taken a little over that and I still haven’t received my file so even though you’ve paid the membership, you won’t have access to use it until you get that file . Without that file all the information provided to you is information u would have access to in the 2025 replay on Apple Music.

Broken mess. Not worth it. It appeared to work fine at first but now it keeps cloning streams of songs over and over again hours later, ultimately making all your stats extremely inaccurate.

Failed to Login: internal error 500. It was working perfectly as one app before the spot:AM split but it’s been a couple weeks now of being being unable to reconnect AM. I thought it was just like a single time glitch but I kept trying every few days to no success. Please at least let me redownload the previous app 🥺 the service was great when it worked and I loved showing it off to friends but can’t really do that with a nonfunctional app

This is the worst waste of money. It doesn’t actually tell you how many times u listened to a song it just tells you how many times you have clicked on the song so and song you play by rewinding or playing on loop doesn’t count

I like the app but…. I like the app a lot but now it’s giving an error saying I need to update the app on both my phone and my iPad. I have fully confirmed on both devices that I am fully up to date but the pop up will not go away and I cannot access any app features. I really don’t want to have to uninstall and reinstall the app because the importing process was not a fun process. If this can be fixed, my review would be moved to a 5 star. Thanks!

Outdated. It’s never up to date on what I listen to and seems to be almost a month behind

Hardly works. I literally will play a song or two and wait awhile only to see if never counted them. I’ve tested this so many times. It does some but it’s like it chooses which artist to count and what songs to count. Now the app won’t work at all. If you open it, is says you have to update the app to continue and when you press ok, it takes you to the App Store page and there is no option to update. You can only press the open button. It becomes a visions cycle and you never get to actually open the app. They have my money though.

Inaccurate Data. It rarely shows actual accurate information, often showing 0 streams or inflating the streams of a specific song (usually one I didn’t even listen to!) I paid for the Plus subscription and I regret it. Their customer service is also useless. They basically just say “too bad” when you inquire about the inaccuracies.

Purchased lifetime on the original app and now I can’t access it.. On the Original statsfm I purchased a lifetime account. Never was there a mention about separate apps at the time when they mentioned bringing Apple into the mix. Now with separate apps your account purchases don’t transfer over.

Borderline Useless. Every feature worth using the app for is locked behind a paywall. There are numerous websites that do what this app does better (and for free). Two stars instead of one because what little data it gives is accurate.

Does not work. I downloaded this app because the other stats. Fm didn’t track Apple Music and other than the intro that told me my listening history it still doesn’t track Apple Music and it says its stats. Fm

Complete scam of an app. No matter what you do you will never be able to sync your files even after paying the subscription just use the free services instead

Does not work.. Every time i open the app is says it needs updated but i cannot update it because its already up to date and i will not let me do anything on the app.

Wrong Stream Count. The app works as in showing what songs i’ve listened to. But the amount of streams i get is very wrong. I can listen to a song once, and on the app it’ll appear as if i listened to it 15+ times in one day. So my weekly recaps show more than 7500 minutes of streaming, for songs i only listened once and not fully. I even get songs that i skipped or didn’t listen to at all.

It’s GREAT! But buggy.. As someone who loves music, I would never not have this app. I love it. But inexplicably sometimes, it says the data isn’t available and I have a solid wifi or network connection. Also - it registers a song I use as an alarm as a track played. So that track is always my #1 played. :(

Glitchy. I love the idea of this app but every time I try to use it, I get all sorts of errors.

Not Syncing. Your app doesn’t sync songs properly. I even updated the up to see if the songs would update or if this was fixed but no. Even after like five hours the songs won’t sync. Please fix this issue

Amazing app with some flaws. I’ve used this app for a while now, and the only problems I’ve had are 1) waiting for my data to sync from AM and 2) Listening time isn’t accurate That second one is my main problem. If I am skipping through a playlist and only listen to a song for a few seconds, the app still counts that as a full stream and will say I listened for the full length of the song. I want it to at least be accurate to ~15 seconds, so the listening time data is actually useful. Other than that, it’s beautifully designed and the UX is great!

Functionality Nonexistent. Open the app and it says you need to update. Click update now, takes you to the App Store and nothing. No option to update. Pretty useless at this point.

Works when it wants to. So the app is quite glitchy! Works when it wants to, does not always capture all the songs streamed. Now it stopped completely working! Asks to be updated but when you come to update there is none available. Please fix it-thank you!

It says an update is available leads me to this store page and i already have the latest version…. Read the title. Stats fm designers are so dumb.

App was great until I got locked out by a glitch. I pay for a subscription to this app, love the variety of stats available, haven’t had issues syncing streams— but as of today, anytime I open the app I’m met with a prompt to update and a button that takes me to the App Store, where there is no update available. I deleted and redownloaded the app and the issue remains.

Keep getting a pop up to update. But every time I go to update it on the store, there’s no update button, only “open” please fix. I haven’t had issues with it otherwise- though I did read people having trouble syncing streams. I can say so far I haven’t.

Not updating. Paid for premium and app won’t update my streams. It’s been days almost a week since it’s updated.

A bit concerned. It has potential once my data gets sent, but annoying pop up now to update and goes to App Store with no update. Repeats over and over and now will not open because of the upgrade message. Fix please.

Great service. The support team is fantastic, quick, and responsive to any issues that you may have. The app seems good so far too.

Fix your app. Been trying to open it to see my stats and it keeps telling me to update it and then i go to update it and it just says open the app and then i open the app and the same thing happens. 😐

Isn’t accurate at all. When I bought a stats fm subscription it restarted all my date from stats fm and restarted it it put songs that’s I never listened to in my top 10

Requires computer. Doesnt disclose. App deserves 0 stars. Doesnt work unless you have a computer and can download a zipped CSV file. App doesn’t disclose that it requires this until AFTER you pay for a subscription.

Major Pain. Doesn’t sync up with my library without a battle, major lag on just about everything. Great concepts that I’d love to use on this app, nothing works though. I’ll hold out hope for the future of this app, just needs a major update to make it actually functional.

Doesn’t let you import, waste of money. I’ve followed the steps, requested my data multiple times, and it still refuses to work. Absolute waste of time and money, I wouldn’t recommend this app to anyone. They can’t even properly track my current streams. Just a terrible experience all around.

Banned account. They ban your account multiple times with no explanation. This is the third time I have to request for my account to be reactivated. We are allowed to stream from multiple devices and use Stationhead. I’m also on a family plan.

Cannot Import listening history. I see others are having the same issue and im just making this review to say that I am as well. I waited a week for the file to come in and now it is not working when I try to import. I have done this once before on another app very similar called Musicat and I had no issues uploading my history on that app so I know it’s not on my end and my files work. Hope to see this get fixed as I’ve paid for a lifetime subscription. I guess I’ve got my whole life for it to work I guess haha

Upload doesn’t work. Paid for premium… followed the instructions to upload my data but it says it’s the wrong data type. I followed directions word for word but the directions given are for a file that doesn’t even work. Fix this please. It’s why I paid for premium

doesn’t work. the original one worked so well. then they slip it so Apple had its own, and now it won’t even register that I am streaming. it says I haven’t listening in about 2 days yet, i’m listening now. pls fix this. it’s pointless if the app doesn’t even work

Can’t view my history of what I listened to. Whenever I open the app it says there’s a new update, every time I click on it, it shows the option of clicking open, it won’t let me view the app

Not even close to being correct. When the entire point of an app is to provide statistics, and you can’t even get that right, you have a problem. Doesn’t track at all when you listen to one track multiple times in a row, hallucinates listens that never happened, etc. Embarrassing to even put this on the App Store.

Broken App!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY/TIME!!. Do NOT get this app. It’s broken. My top songs get deleted and recounted from scratch even when I’ve streamed hundreds of times and they are years / months old. The say they’re “working on a fix” but for many songs it has been over a year. Albums also split and have inaccurate data. Sometimes I’ll stream a song and it gets combined to a complete random song on the album. Like what?? Also some songs come up as completely random unheard of artists, and then when they “fix” it it just stays there and starts a complete new song. Huh?!! To think I PAY for this app and they still have all these glitches that ruin it is beyond ridiculous. And it’s all their fault, cause you literally upload data that is FROM Apple themselves. It’s the fact that the developers cannot fix the bugs, even after years and years of claiming they will. Many songs have been broken for YEARS. Yes, years. Even though they claim they’re aware of the issue and will fix it, they clearly don’t. It also continues to break even more. Me and many of my friends are moving to a different music app. And if you’re thinking about STATSFM, I’d recommend you go elsewhere too. It’s not worth it. Even if it works for a bit, trust me, after a few weeks it will break and your data will be entirely inaccurate, which is ridiculous when it is based off YOUR OWN files and you PAY FOR THIS APP!! Get a new developer and actually learn to FIX your app instead of lying as it continues to get worse. And do not waste your money on a subscription to this app- because as a paying customer I am experiencing these same issues.

doesn't work correctly without paying. its a nice idea but if you want accurate statistics you have to pay crazy rates. importing data to get ACCURATE STATISTICS costs money... statsfm = stats for MONEY

Doesn’t work. Syncing with Apple Music doesn’t work. Importing history doesn’t work. Automatically logs out after some time and you only realize 3 weeks later that it hasn’t been tracking anything.

Love the app, but glitchy as hell. Ghost streams are out of control. It recorded 1,400 minutes while I wasn’t listening to music in one day. Now I’m afraid they will unfairly quarantine my account. The listening now feature is almost never correct. There seems to be no way to report these problems and they are getting worse.

Won’t pull stream data. The concept of this app is amazing but I haven’t been able to get it to pull stream data for almost two months now. This is the second time this has happened in the last two years and frankly I’m tired of the constant disconnecting of my account because i have to keep asking for my Apple Music data which takes seven days and then having to go and upload it. It requires so much more effort than it’s worth.

Basic features locked behind paywall. For the services provided, this app is far too expensive. You need to pay $35 once, or $20 a year just to use this app. Why is a basic feature like importing listening data locked behind a paywall? Why is there no free trial? There are far more services out there that show you your streaming stats and is FREE to use. Such a shame because I really wanted to like this app, the ui is lovely but the price is outrageous.

Great App but wish for one change. Great app and have managed to get it all working. Only thing is that I noticed it imports a full stream every time a song is used as an alarm tone which has completely thrown out my stats.

No Complaints - good app.. Love looking at the stats! One suggestion that would be a cool feature under album or song stats would be a peak position number.

Needs major reworks to improve the accuracy. This app has some flaws that make it extremely annoying to use and almost ruins the entire experience. It often completely misses songs or randomly puts themes under songs that it seems to have made up. It also misses songs that have just reliefs and percent breaks, so you can’t count streams towards this, which is annoying if you’re a day-one listener of a song. They need to seriously rework the backend. Which is possible because apps like Airbuds fails to have many of these catalogue issues.

Would be nice if accurate tracking was brought back. In a premium subscriber, since the last major update my stats on either app have not been tracking right. Off by hundreds of listens on some songs which is very annoying. I’ve been listening to one song a lot since it came out on march 6th and it tells me I’ve listen to it less in that whole time than I have just today. This is not the only song doing this. Just my example. I loved this service so much that I pay for it 🤷‍♂️ I’d definitely change it back to 5 stars whenever this is fixed

Been a VIP for years now, and used to love the app, but lately there has been so many flaws, I keep trying to reupload my data but for some reason it showing songs I’ve never listened too, and if I have maybe once or twice. stability. While I appreciate the functionality of this application, I believe it requires enhanced stability. For instance, if a song is set to repeat, the statistics page, stats.am/fm, should be able to detect this. Additionally, the disappearance of song titles after attempting all troubleshooting steps and reupload your data remains an unresolved issue.

Great! Could be even better. Love the information I get using the app - developers, is there any way to add a feature to delete/hide unwanted tracks? For instance, I used to listen to white noise via Apple Music and it’s junking up my top tracks. I would love to be able to see stats for my music only. Otherwise, a great app!

You get half of what you pay for. I switched from Spotify to Apple Music and was so sad that I wouldn’t be able to get my monthly music log from recipetify. This app advertises itself to give you so many stats, so long as you request and input your music data from Apple but I’ve never been able to use the monthly/ weekly music recap. I thought it was only me till I saw the hundreds of comments and posts of people sharing the same issue. Once they fix this issue I think it will be worth the purchase but until then, know you’ll only be able to get yearly stats. If that’s the only thing they can promise, they should advertise it as such. Hope this helps!

Music tracking.. Stats FM the app is a brilliant idea, but that’s the thing about ideas. They don’t always work well. I have stats FM plus I have uploaded my music data the correct way, but it still has issues tracking my music and says that I only became a listener to certain bands an artists on September 10 2025 the day I downloaded stats FM. In reality I have been to these bands for upwards of 5 years and I’d like my streams to reflect that. Plus fix that bug but everything else is perfect

Gone. All of a sudden all of my data disappeared. I can’t upload my Spotify history and the Apple upload won’t work either.

Not useful. The developers said “here damn” and forget to make regular updates to it. Stick to the original app, it does everything and works perfectly fine

No point in this app. This app is literally a copy of the stats.fm app just branded for apple music. There are actually features missing from the real app such as theme customizations, and it literally shows stats for Spotify on the first splash screen. You’d think they’d finally fix the syncing issues with apple music with this app that’s allegedly dedicated, but they don’t. Nothings changed. Music still doesn’t sync. Despite this app saying it’s specifically for apple music, connecting it in the app shows it as “early access”. Yea, right. What a waste of everyone’s time.

laggy. a lot of things won’t load and it’s annoying

Not bad.. I like this app because it’s kinda like a Spotify wrap but for whenever you want. All though a lot of features require to pay which isn’t so great since I low-key kinda broke🫠. Other than that though it’s good 👍

I restart the app. It says there's an update. I try downloading the other stats.fm app, click on the apple music button, and it links me to this app store page where there's NO UPDATE. Literally cannot get into or use this app that I paid $9 for. What the hell

Lazy identical app with the green one. No new features. Same issues persist in Apple Music support. It’s the same app with stats.fm for Spotify. But without Spotify connection option and only Apple Music connection. If you have the regular Stats.fm, this is totally unnecessary. Because there are NONE new features that’s dedicated to Apple Music. I’m assuming that they are just trying to show people “we know our Apple Music support is very, very bad, but we are trying.” The question is, are you? 1) the team at Stats.fm always put their priorities on Spotify, which I understand. But even with Spotify, they had their problems. Duplicated albums, uncombined tracks, and even DUPLICATED ARTISTS (???) had existed on their database for YEARS, it’s being the No.1 issue on their supports forum. It’s fixed now, but they are so slow on this. Understandable, because after all it’s a data base with hundreds of millions of songs. But it still l kinda shows the team’s productivity for a little bit: isn’t the whole selling point being “providing accurate data to musicphiles?” With database problems, the whole thing becomes unreliable. Honestly to me the impression is, this app could do a decent job for Spotify user is largely thanks to the fact that Spotify offers an official API with reliable connection and extensive listening data. 2) On Apple Music, the app’s performance is even more of a lackluster. Since it’s first launch, users have reported problems like: cannnot detect skips, recording a song that got skipped in 1 second as a full play, and registering a 3 minute listening time; Apple Music service connections gets revoked frequently, causing lost data; and MOST IMPORTANTLY, bloated listening records. When it first launched, if you listen to a track for probably 1 time during the day, chances are in the middle of night the app will randomly add 50x plays and hundreds of minutes to your record, all in the matter of 2 minutes. When you wake up and check the app, you will feel like as if a ghost has took over your phone while you’re sleeping. My entire 2024’s data was ruined by only 3 days of trying out the Apple Music feature. And they don’t offer an option to delete these bloated records. I emailed the support team and they only offered me to delete everything I have on this account. Wild! As of today, the problems on Apple Music got fixed to some extent, but in my opinion is still unusable. Still cannot detect skips. Connection still gets revoked more frequently than acceptable. I thought after more than a year maybe I should give it a try again, and for the first 3 days the data was not bloated, but yesterday night, YET AGAIN, it added 10 random plays when I was sound asleep. I understand that Apple Music’s Media Framework doesn’t have an API as strong as Spotify, and requires extra programming and smart workarounds to provide a smooth and carefree experience. But come on, you are the most popular app in this field, with the largest user base and probably more money and resources than other apps. But there are some other Apple Music data apps that do way better than you though! Please keep up, instead just change the accent color from green to red and just call it a day. If there are limitations, just be transparent and lay them out. For the connection issue, just tell us how often do we need to open this app to confirm whether it got revoked, because losing data without knowledge is the worst thing that can happen on this app. You can’t even fool yourselves, considering that you almost did zero official announcements on this new app.

Used to be great, inaccessible and broken now. The app is practically inaccessible now with a pop up asking you to pay for a subscription after every other button you press. Most features were free in the past but if you don’t pay for either of the subscription services on this app you only get to see what music was recently played and total played for each year, and even then the stats are inaccurate and don’t update frequently whatsoever. Really disappointed what this app has become

Cannot synch music. Ever since am got its own app i haven’t been able to synch any of my music history to the app

Infuriating at times. I switched from Spotify (last fm) to Apple Music this year, so I switched to this app and (for the most part) my data from Spotify imported over successfully. Some early Apple Music data didn’t, though. I’m a plus user and have been for about a year now, but I keep getting it advertised to me which is weird. And now I’ve been logged out/it says my streaming access has been “revoked” or “expired” and I can’t reconnect or log back in. It stopped tracking two days ago. I can still use Apple Music just fine. Total bull.

buggy. I was using the regular Stats.fm app and yesterday and said i needed this one to log in. it’s just super high like when scrolling it will like stop and also when i go to the artists page it will just be grey and i’ll have to restart the app for it to go back to normal.

Doesn’t Work. I used to use the original stats.fm app for both Spotify and Apple Music. The original app stopped syncing with Apple Music, which seemed to be a big enough problem that you guys had to go and make a whole separate app for Apple Music specifically. But this one doesn’t even let me sign in! What is going on?? I paid for premium and now it’s a broken app. I can tell from other reviewers that it’s not just me, you guys just can’t figure out how to make a functional app. What a shame, this used to be useful to me. Now it’s a waste of my money.

Doesn’t work with Apple Music. To anyone thinking of downloading this, don’t. I don’t usually write reviews but this is a scam. I paid for the subscription to be able to import my data from Apple Music and completed the full process yet the streams don’t show up. It also doesn’t sync with streams (separately from the import). The only thing that ends up popping up is “Apple Music’s algorithm” which is your “Replay” in the AM app. I reached out patiently to customer support and they were not helpful at all, saying “we are aware of the issue but do not have a timeline of when it will be solved” and prompting to cancel my subscription. All of that to say: do not download and if you do surely do not pay for the subscription, you’ll just waste it to get the Apple replay you get in the AM app. To be fair, their Spotify app works well for my friend, but this one does not work, so it is probably an issue with them not being able to get the authorization from Apple to access data.

Horrible App. I used Stat.fm for Spotify before and was very happy with it, so of course I wanted to download the one for Apple Music- which I use a lot more than my Spotify. However, the apps are completely different. I paid for both to get the premium features, but the one for Apple isn’t worth a penny. All the “stats” it shows are the ones I can see weekly on the Apple recap (for free) any other stat keeps saying “failed to load, try again later” guess what? Later never came! When I tried uploading my streaming history even though I got the exact file it needed, it kept giving me error messages. There are so many bugs in this app, nothing is working properly, and getting your stats from the weekly/monthly Apple recap is so much better. Don’t waste your time and money on this app. I would give it zero stars if I could.
